Just your standard cafe with good food

"American Style Pancakes" As an American, I heartily approve. Great cafe with great breakfast.

The usual Sierra fare but with one exception the chef is above average for the menu options and the prices reasonable. I had the lamb and balsamic roasted Veges -without the lamb I discovered it having lunch with a friend (who is not a vegetarian) they do a range of other dishes too. Friendly owners who always make our wheelchair posse welcome. Frappes great too.

Solid coffee, good cafe fare and excellent service. I recently started working nearby in Greenlane and already the friendly staff know my name. There is a carpark behind the cafe (Thank goodness!) and multiple areas inside so even when it's busy you'll be able to find a quiet nook to meet and chat.

Eggs bene are the best I have EVER had, anywhere in the world. You could seriously taste the love and care that went into this simple dish! Thank you Chef

Good service. GREAT coffee. Ambience is nice. Located on a busy stretch of Gt South Road so car parking a little hard.

Delicious coffee and breakfast. I ordered eggs on toast, scrambled eggs and the portion was big and really tasty.

Good coffee and lemon cake today. Can be busy and hard to get car park but handy little cafe.

Had the egg bacon and spinach leaf muffin. Delicious though a personal preference id loved bbq sauce but not a deal breaker

Used to live nearby & gave it a few tries, but nothing really popped about this place, eventually ended up driving short distance to get a decent cuppa. Service was always rather slow, coffee never came out hot enough. Had much better experiences at other branches of Sierra cafes, so was a bit disappointed.

Sadly not go great. We ordered waffles, eggs on toast with potatoes, a hot chocolate, iced mocha, hot mocha and cappuccino.

-The waffles were lukewarm, no butter was given and they were tasteless like cardboard, the hot drinks which we asked for to be extra hot were lukewarm at best.

For the eggs on toast, the toast was soggy and they forgot the potatoes which were given to us at the end of the meal which was really pointless.

The iced mocha was given to us after all the drinks were served and well into everyone’s meal and the hot mocha had a weird aftertaste

Skip this place. Not worth the money to be honest

We live in this area, Sierra is the nearest cafe, we always came here for coffee, drinks are good. Food flavour and presentation just average. Environment is good, next to a flower shop, service quite friendlyx

There was a bit too much mushroom to my liking and the toast was burnt but all in all the food was great and the portions were very generous!

Service was quick and professional, the pancake stack was delicious! They were also very open for my alteration to have the pancakes without the scrambled eggs and add banana instead, with no extra charge.

I have been here a few times over the past 6-8 years.
This place remains constant, nothing changes except for slight variations on the menu.
We ordered coffee, carrot cake and Thai Chicken Salad.
Service was great, coffee here is always great, the food is ok.
The carrot cake was a three plus days old, the bottom of the cake was dry and very crumbly, but the cream cheese icing was delish.
The Thai chicken salad was ok. It was nice and spicy, but the mesclun lettuce wasn’t the freshest and had wilted. See photos.
Overall 5 for service and coffee, 2 for carrot cake and 2.5 for Thai salad......average 3.

Came in last year with friends and family. Tried their cheese scone and it was extremely dense in flavour but was nice to have for breakfast. Mocha had a great ratio of coffee to chocolate flavour and the coffee art looked amazing. Cake was really sweet but if you are a chocolate lover I would recommend it.

Great coffee, friendly staff, good food. What a nice bunch of people the Sierra staff are. Thanks for being our morning coffee/snack place to go during our recent trip to Auckland.

I just ordered a soy latte to go and the soy seemed a little curdled and burnt. I know soy is hard to work with but baristas should know by now not to steam soy the same way as milk.

It is a good place to enjoy the food. Coffee have a good quality and tasty is nice. The chef special, which is pasta, have abundant flavor. The chef lady have done the perfect corn fritters, which is delicious. I would like to come again to enjoy the food.
Came on a rainy day and ordered eggs benedict with salmon. Eggs were overcooked and not runny at all so they redid it, only to find that they only swapped out the eggs so the hash cake was stone cold. They still managed to overcook one of the eggs but by then I gave up and just wanted to eat. Portion size was also small for the price. Wouldn't bother coming back.

The food here is absolutely disgusting.
Greeted by host with limited English, got my order of scrambled eggs on grain toast mixed up.
Scrambled eggs were cooked to rubber....the bacon even worse.
Give you Maccas down the road....Couldn't be worse !
.
I enjoyed the hot chocolate as it had a hint of mint chocolate in it. The french toast was pretty standard, nothing special about it but it wasn't bad. Staff was polite and friendly, might go back as I would like to try the eggs benedict.

We ordered 2 Thai salads takeaway. When they arrived they were pathetically small and were advised this was a standard portion! For $18.90 each, the container was barely 1/3 full! I would not recommend this café and won't be returning. The food was average at best.

This cafe makes one of the better Egg Benedicts in the area. Has got nice seating options, the staff is friendly and the ambience is good. Recommended.

This is a regular Saturday morning place for the post run coffee for Cornwall parkrunners.

Gets busy but they are friendly and efficient. The coffee is good but could be better. They do nice date scones but the almond croissants are not my favourite.

Nice bad clean and a safe choice. For a chain they are good.

I always enjoy coming to this cafe as the staff are friendly and there are lots of nice spots to sit. They have a spread of magazines and newspapers to read with your morning coffee and there is enough car parking. The menu at Sierra is what you would expect in a cafe and the cabinet food all looks delicious. I often stop for muffins and filled baps when I haven't managed to make my own lunch. For breakfast the other day I had the smoked salmon hash which came with a poached egg and lime hollandaise sauce. I was expecting some sort of potato cake with the salmon and eggs on top, but it was actually a large bowl of crispy potatoes with bits of salmon and spring onion tossed through it. It was delicious with a good amount of salmon, though I couldn't finish all of the potato- there was quite a lot! Great value for money if you are starving! The coffee was pretty good and I also had a peppermint tea to finish. The tea was served in a really nice looking teapot.

I loved it. :) The blokes breakfast was very filling AND you get a free meal on your birthday.

Had the Eggs Benedict on the weekend - very tasty holondaise sauce, the best I've had in a long time! The coffee was great as well. This cafe looks great, the staff are friendly and the they have a cute little flowershop next to it. I'll be back.

Always a good option for a coffee, lunch or a business meeting. It is a lot better since they put doors in between the flower shop and the cafe (it can even be warm in winter!).

The food prices keep seeming to go up, but they are always busy so I guess the customers are okay paying those prices!

Sometimes you can wait a bit if they are busy, and last time we went we were given our meals virtually cold - they had obviously been cooked and someone had forgotten to deliver them to us.... They probably should have just chucked them rather than give us meals that had been sitting around, but I guess staff sometimes make mistakes!

Really friendly service and atmosphere. Clearly lots of regulars from the way the staff interacted with the customers.
Staff brought an extra place setting without being reminded so my little girl and I could share our eggs benedict and also asked if I wanted another (excellent) coffee (lots of places you have to get up and queue again if you would like a second coffee).
Good menu choice and I will be back for some sweet things from the cabinet.

I had the best coffee here and the caramel slice is to die for. I had salmon and potato cakes - tasted great and really generous serving. Great service and recommend.

Allergy sufferers BEWARE! I went to Sierra Cafe for a relaxing breakfast with my partner and paid extra to get the advertised "gluten free" bread as I have a severe allergy to gluten and wheat.
I had already eaten 3/4 of my meal when the chef came over to advise me that he had served me normal bread rather than gluten free. Although he was apologetic I don’t think he grasped the full extent of how sick his mistake was going to make me. (He kept repeating that he was happy to remake my meal with gluten free bread which is really not a help since I had already eaten most of the meal containing the full glutinous bread!!)I spent the next week very sick and miserable, although I guess I am lucky that I am not allergic to the likes of peanuts as the Sierra Cafe's indifference to allergy sufferers could have been more serious/fatal.
If you are an allergy sufferer I would recommend eating elsewhere as Sierra Cafe does not take care to ensure you receive what you order.
NB: When I asked for a refund for my meal I was given it - had to ask for it though.
