Review Artusi - Auckland Central

The heater in the inclosed outdoor area felt so Cossey and warm! Blankets were a nice touch, even though we didn't really need it because of the gas heater next to us! Definitely recommend, the lamb and chicken was amazing!

On the first sight, this cafe appeared stylish and high class. The italian cusine, especially the arancini is phenomenal with long lasting after taste. Waitress are approachable and caring, constantly replenishing our tea. The tea is super fragrant and impressive. Highly recommend.

A decent cafe embedded in a tranquil and undisturbed village. which is few meters away from the main road(remuera) and convinent parking (upstairs of the new world). Food tasted fresh and well made in a traditional italian style and coffees are lovely.

Used to be good but since the head chef has been changed, food is not good anymore but good service.

Excellent restaurant. Stylish decor inside and out. It has a great balance of ambience. The food was delicious. The service was excellent. One of the best restaurants in remuera.

So glad and happy I've given a legitimate Italian dining experience to my fiancee's on his birthday and be able to introduce part of my roots. Glad to know there is a place like Artusi. Amazing food, prosecco, music and customer service. Grazie :)

Not impressed with this place whatsoever unfortunately :(

We used an entertainment book voucher for buy one main get one main course free. This explains why their menu inside the restaurant has been condensed down and is completely different to the one on the website / Zomato. There are only a few options. We were very disappointed that the duck ravioli and pork belly weren’t available. We ordered the steak and the lemon risotto, and the cheese pasta for our toddler.

The lemon risotto was the biggest letdown. It was absolutely tiny, one shrimp (not prawns) and a small piece of fish alongside a couple of table spoons of risotto with a side of packet hollandaise and hard avocado. A very confusing dish! The fish had so many scales and bones! It was not enjoyable.

The steak looked promising but was mostly fat and was chewy and tough. Two small polenta chips were hiding underneath in a very weird tasting sauce, and a butter laid on top which refused to melt.

At $36 a main we were not happy.

My sons cheese pasta tasted like what you get from the supermarket in a box and microwave for 2 minutes. We definitely didn’t expect much but it was still quite sad to see.

Definitely would’ve mentioned this to the waitress but she was completely uninterested in her job and didn’t ask how our meal was. The place was sooo quiet and I can see why now!

Don’t waste your money, sorry guys

I went here for a birthday dinner with my partner, and must say this establishment has great food, excellent service, and great atmosphere.
I highly recommend eating here.

Had dinner here a few months ago with the Entertainment Book voucher. To be honest I can't remember anything about the meal. Food wasn't bad, it wasn't amazing either. Same with the atmosphere. Probably wouldn't go back without a voucher.

Nice looking place. Nice decor. Pleasant staff.
The food however wasn’t much chop.
Maybe the chef was having an off day. Maybe he just wasn’t very good.
Nothing was seasoned. My steak was under cooked. There was so little heat in it the herbed butter struggled to melt. The pasta looked fantastic but alas also tasted of next to nothing.
I hope they get their act together because they have a good location and they’ve spent a bit of money on the fit out of the place. But the food is seriously lacking.

Tucked away off the busy Remuera road, this restaurant was empty when we dined in for brunch. My partner and I had a couple of free coffee vouchers which was the main reason for our visit but we planned to try out their new breakfast menu too. The outdoor area is stunning and would be great for a large group booking during summer. The décor is really chic with touches of greenery and pastel hues.

We found there weren’t a lot of options on the breakfast menu and settled for the Eggs benedict with balsamic mushrooms, spinach and apple slaw. We’ve had plenty of eggs bene during our time but this was the first to feature apple slaw. It was different! Quite refreshing and actually worked well contrasting with the hollandaise sauce. The ciabatta was fresh and the eggs cooked perfectly. The balsamic was definitely present in the mushrooms and anymore stronger and it would’ve been too overpowering.

Unfortunately, the coffees really let our experience down. The poor young man that served us had never done a day shift before and from the coffees we received, it seemed like it was also his first time using the machine too. He warned us as he delivered the two flat white’s to our table that they wouldn’t be the best coffees we’ve had. He was right, and just a few sips was enough to put us off. He was apologetic and gave us our vouchers back so we could visit again and get a coffee at its best. Although it was a shame about the coffees, his service was good and he dealt with the awkwardness of the situation as well as he could.

Not sure if we’d return again for breakfast– due to the small amount of options but wouldn’t mind dining in for lunch or dinner as the menu looks pretty good.

5/5. I had the truffle hollandaise eggs Benedict and it was beautiful!!! Best breakfast I have had in a looooong time. Amazing service and great coffee. Would defiantly go again!

Tucked away behind a Ray White building is a gorgeous Italian Restaurant. The photos on Zomato don't do it justice .

Came here tonight with the family and we absolutely loved our dinner here.

The two lady staff members were so sweet and bubbly.

Dinner was fantastic ! Every dish was great. The pumpkin soup was creamy and delish. My grandma who is a vegetarian ordered the lasagne and enjoyed it . The rib eye was the highlight for me . Such a generous portion size and cooked to absolute perfection. Not one piece of fat was cast aside . The fish with black risotto was also very good. The shoe strings were perfectly cooked.

For the price it's an absolute steal. All up we paid $95 for 5 people. We did use 2 entertainment cards which really made a difference but regardless for the quantity and quality of their food A+++

Amazing food! Such a nice little restaurant, the only risotto balls that I would say are delicious. Definitely an amazing place to eat and would highly recommend

Had a lovely night here .
Service was impeccable by Maddy and Tony, the food was absolutely superb! Tried out the new addition to the menu Websters Organic Tea which was a nice way to end the night
Will be returning shortly!

It was a very quiet evening at Artussi - thanks, or otherwise, probably to the All Blacks vs Lions match. We were the only customers for the evening!
Our friends & I all had different entrées - Tuna Carpaccio, Capesante Artussi (scallops), porcini mushroom risotto & confit duck, & chicken liver paté. All looked good & tasted good. Hapuka with black ink risotto & the special main (pork ribs) were also nice; Hapuka was fresh & beautifully cooked, risotto was lovely too. We finished with a mixed gelati (passion fruit, raspberry & vanilla) & the tiramisu with caramelised walnuts. My picks of the day were Hapuka & tiramisu.
(Food - 4/5; Service - 4.5/5; Ambience - 3.5/5)

Tonight we sat outside under the heaters. The food was great. I had the rib eye steak and a friend had the lamb special and another had the lamb on the menu. The pasta was light and fresh. We had the brownie to finish which was lovely but very rich. Overall the service was pretty good. Will definitely be coming back.

Arrived on a Sunday evening anticipating an enjoyable meal. We were utterly delighted to discover that everything was well above expectations. Greeted like long lost friends and settled into a nicely positioned table, we felt instantly relaxed. Excellent service throughout. A menu that contrasts well against other local offerings. Italian themed but incorporating NZ wherever sensible. Clearly a good kitchen. We were able to compliment our three course meal with a good bottle of wine from the handy cellar. A great option for those in the district looking for something a little different.

My wife and I dined here 19 May 17. The lighting is so dark you can't read menus without a light to assist you. However, table candles and funky wall drawings add atmosphere. That said, the service was friendly and attentive. The manager (owner?) even remembered us from a previous visit when they first opened. My wife enjoyed a steak which was served on the bone as it had been on the previous occasion. I had lamb which was very tender with accompanying small potatoes, all nicely prepared and presented. So the food and service are good. What rates it down for us was that we were in what might be called the "noisy corner", surrounded by other diners conversations. Along with inappropriate music from a DJ who obviously had no idea of Italian music it rather detracted from the experience.

Great night last night. All six of us thought that the entertainment was fabulous; and the food was great; and the service perfect. Book us all in for next one now.

Ordered the steak and the spaghetti. Both were excellent. High quality food and friendly staff. We were worried since there were not many people in the restaurant, but the place soon filled up. Wife loved the place and the vibe. Will def return.

We went there for a Tuesday night dinner. It was empty when we came but soon filled up. The service was attentive. We had the steak (my partner said the best steak ever) and the pasta (alright). Would highly recommend, it's a beautiful restaurant tucked in Remuera (can be hard to find)

Finally got around to returning and wish we had sooner. Menu has improved and ingredients are now top quality. The service has got to be one of Artusi's best qualities with great FOH staff. Well done on now targeting a more current generation. We look forward to returning to try more of the menu and making Artusi our local.

I went here for dinner last night and the food and service were excellent. We had the hare ragu ravioli and the mushroom soup and both were absolutely stunning. We experienced attentive, non intrusive service, great wine list and VERY reasonable prices. We are both busy professionals and dine out regularly in parnell, remuera and the central city and have to say that Artusi is one of the best. Highly recommended for the food, service, location and wine list.

I have dined at Artusi twice, the first time I was scoping the place out- Italian happens to be my favourite cuisine. The second time was for Mother’s day in which we booked late for, and regardless were given such warm, gracious welcome, fantastic service and barely waited for our table.
Each time I’ve been to Artusi, its cosy space has been full of people happily spending time and enjoying the wonderful food there is on offer, which is equally matched by their superb wine list. I had a sensational suggestion of pairing my Lepre (rabbit) Ravioli with the Zolla Primitivo Merlot (from Puglia, Italy and if you’re a merlot fiend worth every drop). I will happily be returning to Artusi, I hear their Sunday Session were chilled out bliss and are absolutely EVERYTHING this neighbourhood needs!

Grossly underwhelming.
Food was nice, but nothing amazing, particularly for the hefty price tag that was attached.
I had their 'lamb rack special' which was more special in the sense that they probably had a lot of lamb to cook, not special in terms of price or serving size, which they didn't tell us what this was anyway (our bad for not asking).
When we paid the bill, there was no 'thanks for coming, thanks for dining, hope to see you again' - we were using the Entertainment Book, but if they don't like this, then don't put yourselves in there to begin with.
Guess they were unhappy we took up a table and didn't order tonnes of drinks or sides.
They paid a lot of attention to all other diners - but practically none to us.
Overall, would not visit again. Much nicer places with friendly service elsewhere in Auckland.

Food Quantity 5/5
Food Quality 5/5
Presentation 4/5
Service 4/5
Price 4/5

Was difficult to find at first, it's in the alleyway by Remuera Road or access side street by New World.

The food was spectacular, I don't like olives, however I could eat a couple of them on the taster plate.

The plates are nice and warm when served to your table so your food doesn't get cold by the time it reaches your mouth.

Unfortunately we had snapper instead of hapuka, however the risotto was surprisingly tasty even though it looked extremely bland with just black ink, crayfish flavoring and nothing else to the visible eye.

Aged ribeye was real aged ribeye, excellent sauce with a slap of butter.

Overall a delightful experience, the owner kept asking if we wanted drinks a good 4-5 times. However in this economy understandable.

Good. Would I recommend to my friends and family? Yes.

What a sigh of relief after the truly awful Little Cuba restaurant in the same spot. Artusi is a delight - just wonderful! Super busy for a Wednesday night, warm friendly atmosphere and outstanding service (when your waiter tells you something on the menu is his favourite - don't hesitate to take his advice), and just lovely, beautifully prepared food (without being pretentious). No matter what else you have don't miss the sticky date pudding! We are very much looking forward to returning - and bringing friends.

A great little hideaway restaurant. Really busy on a wet Saturday night. The service was attentive, the waiters were very pleasant and accommodating. We started with the brushetta and followed by two steaks, perfectly done according to each's taste ( on the bone) and served with a generous helping of gratin potatoes. The Italian beer was a highlight and my husband really enjoyed that. Couldn't fit a desert. The only gripe is I'm sure we were overcharged for the shoestring french fries which are listed on the menu @ $7.90 and although I queried the charge we were still charged $10 for them. I'm glad we went early as by 7.45 the noise from other diners made it impossible to hear each other. Some slight noise reduction methods ( eg absorbent wall hangings) would make it more bearable.
A true gem of a restaurant though and one to which we will return soon.

I took a group along for dinner recently. The dining room is small and cosy, service was reasonable (courteous, efficient, not cloying). The food was very good. I had the calamari entree; light crispy batter surrounding tender squid, and my hapuka with squid ink risotto main was delicious. Many of the group had steaks with bone in which looked well cooked. Our meal was very enjoyable and well worth a look if you are searching for good quality Italian hidden away in the suburbs

Highly popular and busy place in the heart of Remuera village bringing out the trendy and hip with a few local Reumerians too. An Italian restaurant serving food a step up from your usual pizza and plain spaghetti although spaghetti does feature on the menu - their version is served with seafood. Food is homely and tasty. Standout dishes were the entree of sardines served in a balsamic reduction with salad and sourdough bread and a main of pan fried hapuka on black ink risotto and saffron sauce. Other mains included aged rib eye fillet with potato gratin. Service was attentive without being fawning. Well priced meals. Italian food in a homely comfort style.
