Took a dine in last night and ordered Indian food . Experience was good. Food is also delicious. Overall, the visit was worth ful. Prices are reasonable. Best thing is that it's in Hobson Street in front of Sky City.

There is a Myth that Paradise is a biryani king. We tried panner biryani today and it was just outstanding 👌. A must try & very flavourful. 1kg for 18bucks only.

Came here from Melbourne looking for some easy take away while on our honeymoon. Melbourne is known for excellent Indian food and this was on par with that quality. We got the chicken Mango curry and butter chicken curry. Amazing quality and the rice was smooth and not sticky. We also got garlic nann bread which was very large and also delicious! I saw the chief use great hand hygiene and the wait for us was no longer than 10 minutes despite being somewhat busy inside for a Sunday night/long weekend. I dont understand the other lower reviews, take my advice and give this place a try 10/10

Me and my friends decided to eat some good indian desi food. So we ordered from raviz. I don't know why sometimes their curry dishes are sooo tasty but sometimes their curry dishes are like watery and taste less and filled with color. Don't know why it happens like that. We have tried butter chicken, Goat biryani, naan and Chicken tikka, Beef vindaloo, half Chicken Tikka and half chicken malai kebab. Gravy dishes quantity should be increased. Staff was very friendly and helpful. But dine-in is bit expensive.Yes they serve halal ALWAYS confirm before placing the order (Please DM or call them for any further enquiries). Thank you 😊

We had butter prawn 9/10 , malai kofta 8/10 , cheese garlic naan , kheema naan , alu paratha, mango lassi , gulab jamun and not forgetting mango ice cream WHAT A CHEAT MEAL DAY , definitely a place to visit if your in auckland . The staff was very helpful by picking our food and I appreciate the service. Thank you and hope to see you soon . EVERYONE PLEASE COME AND CHECK THIS PEOPLE OUT

As a first time customer I found the food delicious. Nice sized portions. Friendly atmosphere. Photos of menu attached.

Craving Indian takeaway, we found this place through Menulog. The menu was extensive with curries of all kinds - vege, beef, chicken, lamb and street eats. All curries come with rice, and they offer lunch deals too though we got in too late for that. Having said that, the prices are reasonable and the portions are sufficient. When we went to pick up, I was surprised that the restaurant was bigger and better dressed than anticipated. Onto the curries - lots of flavour and spice. Delicious. The paneer makhani was tangy, creamy and rich. The chicken mughlai was nutty and flavorful. I’m glad we shared both curries, as having an entire meal of only one curry would have been too much! The garlic naan had generous lashings of garlic. It was ok, nothing to write home about. Will be back to try the other curries.

Service was great 5/5 stars. We were not the easiest bunch to handle at 11 at night after drinking a little & it’s level 3. They are so worth the buck with the flavours that bangin!!! Lassi: 5/5 in flavour!!! Flavours of curry: butter chicken: 4/5 and tikka handi was: 5/5!!! Loved it! Can’t believe we didn’t come here sooner. So worth it!

Craving for butter chicken one weekend and was so glad to have discovered Raviz through Menulog and I’m so glad we did as it’s quite good! Alongside the butter chicken, also ordered squid pakoras and cheese naan. Everything was amazing! Serving size is also generous that we still had some leftover for the next day. Only paid $17 for everything because of the discount from the restaurant plus Menulog. Will definitely order here again! 👍

Delicioso 😋 is how I describe the Lamb Madras meal I just had. Friendly staff a great lunch time special a meal with an option of house ale or juice I opted for the juice. And clean premises with Indian statuettes and artwork adding to the ambience of the premises. I wouldn't hesitate coming here to eat when I'm in the city in the future.

I went to raviz botany . And the service was totally shit. I was not expecting that bad service from them. I was sitting there from an 1/2 hour . No staff came to me for book an order. And food was shit... chicken was uncooked shitty food. I never go there in that shit place.
Shivani Chaurasia
Poor delivery service, food kept on foot mat of the car, curry spilled over in bag, cold food and time management was poor food delivered after 1hour 15 minutes instead of 40-45 minutes. It's look like the guy was mugging around the city

2 Stars only for food. Servers are not well trained and Manager is rude and unproffesional. Same table, two different sized beer mugs and mangaer says thats the way it is. 350 ml in first round and 330ml in second round of beer. Inefficient service and rude staff. Good only for takeaways but dine in service is below par. Went there for my wedding anniversary with my family for first time. Would be the last one.

Worst service and you have to ask them for cutleries and water . I mean worst restaurant ever seen in my life. . I ordered chicken malai kebab and chicken was still fuckin moving mean raw . They cant even cook a chicken. I would recommend not to go this restaurant .

no sense of packing the food appropriately .curry, naan, papad and rice were packed in a soggy plastic bag.when i reached home papad was mushy, naans were soggy due to heat and one of the takeaway box was open as it was not closed properly, wasted money.

I went tonight for dinner Food was alright but pretty bad service i told guy on reception it was bad service and manager replied to me Ok. He(a guy with Turban) didn’t apologise to me which shows that, they don’t care about customer service. Please improve your customer service skills guys. Don’t Recommend Thanks

We are regular customer. We order 3,,4 times in a week. Most of the times. They delay the order. Last time they take 2 hours for delivery and sometimes naan's are not cooked well and yesterday they forgot to give the chilli chicken but we paid the money. When I call they said just sorry wtf is that

Best Indian food in Auckland. The service was amazing, we were looked after quite well. I am usually a little picky with my diet, all my requests were catered for without any hesitations. Definitely recommending it everyone. Cheers

Good location. Nice decor. Feels homely.<br/>Tandoori prawns: served on a sizzling platter. Nice spices not too strong. Very flavourful. Perfectly cooked. Recommended.<br/>Lamb roghan josh: Best dish 👍 very delicious. Must try. I wish the portion size was a bit more.<br/>Chicken biryani: we ordered it Indian hot and woah! Fire! But the flavour was too good. Couldn't stop eating even though we were breathing fire!<br/>

Uber driver did not deliver the food but still charged us. 😡

i loved it, the food was amazing, the ambience was very beautiful and provided a wonderful experience

Ordered food and was at least an hour late due to them forgetting our order. Only reason we got it delivered was because we called them to check the location of our order and then to be told that they don't have our order.<br/><br/>The delivery service was worse! The restaurant was given our address but instead the driver asked us to walk 5mins away from our home to grab the food from him. The driver as well did not seem to follow level 3 protocol as he was not wearing a mask and gloves. Further to this instead of putting it in the ground the, driver forcefully handed us the food.<br/><br/>Restaurant manager was contacted and was promised further discussion about the situation. But now 4 days has passed and still not contact.<br/><br/>Would not order again and would definitely not suggest this restaurant to anyone else.<br/><br/>Update as of 5th of May 2020.<br/><br/>Called again to speak with the manager javiz to get an update regarding the matter. Was then told that he has lost my contact details and from the looks does not really care or even plan to action my complaint. I understand the difficult circumstance of the restaurant industry right now but I would really suggest to avoid this restaurant. Just because of bad customer service and management.

I used to order a lot from Raviz but unfortunately their food quality and customer service has gone down a lot. I was given poor quality chicken saag which was promised to be replaced but didn't happen. I was a regular customer who ordered about $1oo- $200 per month but won't be ordering anymore.
Candidreview@gastronomy
I used to go in year 2009 to 2014 loved the food all those time I m not sure how us quality now but that time it was good
Ishwarya
Really liked their chicken biryani. Super soft butter naan and flavourful curries. But the food is a bit expensive for the quantities provided.

Never been here but we ordered food online from here . Had ordered veg manchurian, paneer karahi and Naan. Veg manchurian was super amazing , we just loved it. Naan was very soft and loved it too. Paneer karahi was not bad , it was sweeter for our taste . But overall the food was amazing.

lied to by staff and management butter chicken was watery with stuff all chicken extremely dissapointing will never use this restaurant again

Awesome service, I accidentally ordered a non-vegan dish over Uber eats and the staff stayed on the phone with me for over 10 minutes trying to figure out a compromise. They were polite, respectful and patient. Overall a pleasing experience. Would recommend.

I consider myself a regular customer (mostly for takeaway as I live around the area), but not anymore which is a shame as they used to be quite high quality with better service.<br/>Recently I’ve noticed that the butter chicken that I always order has been made "mild" even when I specifically emphasize for the food to be "medium" spicy. After the tenth time this has happened we rang them immediately and informed them what happened. They advised to bring the curry in and they will fix it – LUCKY we live within walking distance from Raviz. So when we returned to the restaurant and repeated the issue, the guy behind the counter kept saying "no worries", as if we were the ones that made a mistake, and told us that if we want it spicy we have to say "Medium to spicy". This is ridiculous as whenever we place an order we are asked either “mild, medium or spicy” and previously our medium spicy butter chicken didn’t taste like a mild.<br/>After a few minutes the kitchen returned our butter chicken, we went home and tried it. It didn’t taste like the usually medium spicy butter chicken, I had no idea what kind of taste as I assume they just added spice to it. What was irritating was the attitude of the worker and no apology

My preferred place for reliable takeaways. After numerous visits the menu isn't so interesting, but some of their prices are competitive. The curries are not dry nor too runny, so perfect for dipping naan into. The meat pieces are small enough that you don't need a knife. The chicken biryani is delicious. The samosas are large and delicious. The vegetable pakoras entrée is too generous for one person. I've never had trouble ordering over the phone for pickup, and the few times I've dined in were fine too. However, I once tried ordering via Menulog and they took about 45 minutes to notice the order, but they at least gave me extra papadums when I got there.

Extremely amazing experience. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by staff and seated. Staff were amazing, very attentive to our needs, professional and friendly. The food was so delicious and flavorful, highly recommend the chicken manchurian dry 😍 and the chicken fried rice. I went with my family (so 4 of us) on a Sunday night.

Been there couple of times , haven't had good experience<br/>Food taste lower than average<br/>Staff was nice though.<br/>Can think to visit against if they will increase the quality and taste of food .

Went to Raviz after a long time thinking of the old quality.  But I regretted going there. The food quality and taste was worst. There was no salt in karahi paneer. The supplier just took it inside, made modifications and brought it out. Butter chicken was also not good. Above all, the service was so bad. I think they people there think they were doing some favour to the customers. They were so inhospitale. I will never return there. Probably they have grown enough to treat customers bad and give worst food for expensive prices. All the best guys... If there was a rating below 1, I would give that. One last thing, I was about to ask for high chair for my kid and found it was kept in the toilets. Fortunately I went to wash my hands and found the chair there. That was the peak of all...

Their Butter Chicken is a must try like actual Delhi style butter chicken (somewhat close) Food was nice and also a good fact that it is open till late night. Nice food. Great location!

Good.indian place in the city. Not one of the best in Auckland but not too bad either. Your experience would depend upon what you chose to eat here. I love the Pakistan dum biryani-honestly one of the best biryanis I have ever had. Do not enjoy the tandoori as the spices are just on the skin and not in the meat within. Very small menu for desserts hardly 2-3 items. The service is good though and quantity is good as well. Mala kofta is good as well if you do not like too much spice.

Smelly and dark- welcome to Raviz. Used to be a decent place to eat ages ago but not anymore. Still delhi style butter chicken is the best pick. Would not recommend to dine in, its too smelly.

We found a hair in the platter. When complained about it, the guy took it back to the kitchen and brought back the same platter. Of course they removed the hair. The food is not tasty.

Had a large group at Ravi's last night, we have all dined here plenty of times before. There was more than one part of this experience that really irked us.<br/><br/>There were a few minor inconveniences to begin with - such as being told we were not allowed to share dishes, our whole group was not able to be seated together despite booking, and frankly the hot curry was not hot. All of our party agree that this can easily be put aside when food and the rest of the service is excellent, this was not the case.<br/><br/>The food is nothing to rave about, and the service was beyond appalling.<br/><br/>Half way through our meal a family was seated behind us, they ordered and ate almost all of their food. To be fair they had complained to the waiter who told one member of our 20 person group to quiet down. The family then left without paying and we were told we would have to foot the bill, which is a completely unacceptable request considering almost all the food was eaten. There is absolutely no precedent for another consumer paying for an unhappy guest's meal. <br/><br/>Most of our group have worked in hospitality for many years, I have 7 years of hospitality experience and managerial expertise, so the following advice may actually be of use to your business:<br/><br/>Firstly, of course it is important to make sure meals are paid and accounted for but I can assure you that leaving a bad impression on 20 regular diners is not the smartest way to achieve this. It is always the diner's personal responsibility to pay for their meal, if they were not happy with their experience it is up to the establishment to rectify this rather than placing the burden on other customers.<br/><br/>Secondly, I hate to be so brash but in a large restaurant with plenty of other tables available (most of the restaurant was empty) it would have been very easy to place this family somewhere else as obviously a group of 20+ are going to make some noise. This would have been a very easy way to proactively mitigate this issue.<br/><br/>Lastly, despite your request being unreasonable and not usual practice and your responsibility as the host, you continued to berate members of our group who were trying to reason with you. This was a very sour end to our meal. If you are unable to accommodate this many people do not allow them to book or do not allow BYOS. If you do want these customers be prepared to think ahead and treat them with respect. <br/><br/>None of us will dine here again.
Tom Blackwell
Sadly had a very disappointing experience at Raviz, having arrived in a big group they complained about the noise and tried to have our group pay for another groups meal after they left without paying blaming us for their departure. This was drastically unfair and ruined our experience. I will not be returning.

First time visit on New Year's Eve from Hamilton. We ordered quite a lot of food for 3 people. We asked them if we could have the starters first with our drinks and got denied straight up reason being it was New Year's Eve and they were extremely busy. Then half of our food arrived, including the curries but they forgot to bring our nan breads (cheese nan and plain roti) so we had to wait 15 mins for that, and they only brought the cheese nan and forgot about the plain roti. By the time our plain roti showed up, everything was cold. The kadhai paneer tasted horrible, like they had put too much masala by accident. It had to be changed so waited another 20 mins for that. We ordered Raita, tuned out too sweet and runny, we had to return it as they wouldn't exchange saying this is how our raitas are. I liked their Indian style butter chicken but we were just so tired of waiting on staff to notice us, then waiting for food and exchanging foods, we did not even eat and had to parcel everything. Being busy is not an excuse for bad service, hire more staff maybe? Never eating here again, I might do a take away for your butter chicken some time.
Samee Al Amin
Extremely disappointing. Ordered 2 butter nan's both of which were burned. Ordered lamb sheek kebab which came in a foil and tasted very stale. The behavior of the staff was unfriendly. I am never going to this place. There are much better Indian restaurants in the CBD.
Krutarth Soparkar
The food is standard and the service is good but they take a lot of time for the food to come to your table.<br/>We were informed that there will be a wait 30 mins on the food.<br/>We were fine with that. <br/>After asking how will it take for our 2nd starter they said 5 mins and we waited 30 mins for just or 2nd starter to come out and then another 30 mins for our mains. Simply WOW
Faraz Qamar
Really bad quality food. Not going back ever. Prepared wrong order and over charged. Biryani had no spices. It seemed like normal rice cooked in chicken.
Foodie4909
I loved the food here.. staffs are friendly and very nice.. didn’t had to wait long time for food!! Whenever I go (usually dinner time) its always busy but food is right on time..
Krishanthareja2490
Name should be rubbish restaurant not raviz..<br/>Bad experience again for the second time..<br/>Got a human hair in the food.. <br/>asked for red onion salad and got brown onion when we were about to finish our food..<br/>Haven’t seen such a bad customer service..<br/>Please improve yourself raviz.. <br/>

If can I rate 0 star , I would appreciate that Zomato for particularly this Indian restaurant, worst service and average food, it’s not one or two time , it’s always been same me thinking that it would be improved each time. But no , it’s totally hopeless especially the manager on the counter with a turban, rude with disgusting attitude thinks the restaurant is in a village, and the customers are slaves who will wait like he’s serving the food for free.<br/>Once again thank you very much for spoiling our evening, <br/>And waiting for someone else to write a bad comment for RAVIZ (Hobson street)<br/>Because they never gonna improve

Legendary Indian Restaurant In The Heart Of CBD<br/>THE FOODOLOGIST RATING:-<br/><br/> FOOD:- 5/5 (Excellent Indian Food, Authentic,One Of The Best For Indian Food ) <br/><br/>SERVICE:- 4.5/5( Hit or miss, When hit its really good, Attentive , Proactive)<br/><br/>AMBIANCE:- 5/5 (Relaxed ,Elegant,Artistic,Cozy)<br/><br/>CLEANLINESS:-4.5/5 ( Good Hygiene, Clean)<br/><br/>VALUE FOR MONEY :- 4.5/5 (Great value for money , quantity can improve, quality excellent )<br/><br/>FOOD POCKET DAMAGE:- ***/***** (Cost For 2 $50)<br/><br/>THE FOODOLOGIST REVIEW:<br/>-<br/><br/>When I arrived to Auckland i did hear a lot about paradise but a few friends who have lived here for long and in the city always mentioned Raviz . This is an institution in Auckland CBD not only visited by Indians but also by locals alike. I this place was in Sandringham it would probably be the best restaurant around and one of the best for Indian fare in Auckland . Me and a mate of mine go regularly as we catch up for lunch and work . We try different dishes their lunch special is a really good steal . In Entrees you can never go wrong with the Afghani chicken .In mains the Balti chicken is an all time favorite the chicken is tender and the spice is well balanced . The Rara chicken is a mix of two meats as its chicken cooked in a lamb sauce give it a try . There is a Ravis specialty menu which is chef recommend dishes which is not on here cant remember the name but ordered it once and the quantity was poor to an extent it was a rip off so stay away from them . Overall they need to workout on their quantity as long as they keep up their superb quality and high standards i am sure they will keep building the good reputation they have and bring more smiles on their customers faces . The service is good but at times i have found them slack also if you cant have too much of spice make sure you tell the waiter
Sreejith V Pawar
Three star for their hospitality. Greetings were so dull and staffs are least interested in customers. Food quality is nice and enjoyed it very much. Especially for Indian food lovers. Tried Naan and veg palak panner and Chinese rice. Quality and quantity are okay. Just lagging hosptalilty service. Please work on that team.

Ordered malai kofta<br/>In hot curry koftas are frozen not even heated properly<br/>Naan thick not cooked properly<br/>Onion salad very thick cut can't eat.<br/>If you can tolerate only Punjabi music then only sit in this restaurant.<br/>Worst customer service.

Worst Indian cusine ever. I called in the store because my Uber Eats was not coming. When I called, they pretended as though they could not understand my English. I mean please I stayed in NZ for so many years.<br/><br/>Rude as staff on the phone.<br/><br/>So funny that I got a message from Uber Eats as soon as I hung up. Maybe they were planning not to send my food if I didnt call.<br/><br/>No wonder this plave got a low rating with negative reviews
Sabin Shrestha
how is that you get the order wrong after triple confirming that its going to be medium spicy not extra hot not hot not medium hot. DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND?
Bajajpallvi2910
From my experience, it was negative. I know I came late around 11pm and they are probably not serving properly for reason. I didn’t receive any entree plates on time, i just raised my hand and then i got my plates.. paneer tikka masala without the sauce on side?? Then I ordered the curry and naans but received Curry without the naans. I Asked the staff for the sauce twice and when my meal came. It was cold! The staff didn’t give any spoons etc to eat our meals either. I had to continuously remind the staff to give things in order to eat.

Cheap easy handy friendly! A good place to grab lunch. An average Indian takeaway but they open til later and they offer delivery so could be good for late night lazy meal as well! Eat here every now and then and I am satisfied with what I get for what I pay for
ABHIJIT KENAVDEKAR
i like the food here but didnt have a good experience today (Saturday) chicken biryani and rice were cold, and garlic naan was too dry. Would recommend not to go here when busy.
Kunjpatel0199
Good place to go but they need to update their timings on the Zomato app. We walked in thinking it’s open as the timings say 11am. But it actually opens at 11:30am.
Sonia Son
Butter chicken is great. I have ordered garlic and cheese nan but it felt more like normal nan. Used to have more cheese stuffing inside the nan when I tried few weeks ago but seems like it has been changed or order mistake?
Rahul Raj
Good food, good taste and good staff but getting a chicken biryani without chicken is new. I have been eating with Ravis for quitea while but this was new. New chef?
Khushboo Goswami
I have tried so many restaurants in Auckland but raviz on Hobson street is the best. I love their Delhi style butter chicken, mutton biryani, mutton kassa are the best dishes and my favourite. I can now order through Uber eats as well which is awesome. I am completely addicted to your food and wish you all the best for future. Keep it up.
Ruchit Khare
I ordered a masala fish curry and prawn fried rice<br/>I would say that was my last order ever and meal at Raviz the rice was like no flavour in it. And the fish was hard as rubber. Sorry to say but it doesn’t justify Indian flavours

You guys have really nice food..😘😘<br/>Fast service...the girl took order nicely..she explained everything very well.....would highly recommend to people visit at Raviz...will be coming back again....

Have tried this place a couple of times and have been dissappointed on both occasions.<br/>Tried vegetarian dish once (paneer sabzi) and chicken tikka masala the second time and both were ok-ish. The dishes are as expensive as other indian restros in this region.<br/>Nothing bad to say about the dishes but some of the other restros have much better tasting dishes.

Cozy and calm atmosphere, good lunch hour deal, portion is reasonable, we ordered butter chicken and beef vindaloo were very delicious. Friendly staffs and good service. Been there few times but food there never disappoints us :)

I would not recommend this place to anyone. Ordered this on uber eats tonight. It arrived and we started eating, it was ok we weren't expecting anything to great as the time it takes to get here diminishes to quality but what we found was pretty appalling. My husband found a small peice of hard sharp plastic in his chicken korma then in the next mouthful found a small sharp chicken bone!! Extremely dangerous and seriously how does small hard plastic get in a curry (we checked and there is no damage to the container it came in). So poor I wish I could rate it negative stars.

What annoyed me about this place wasn’t the food or the ambiance rather it was the wait staff. I don’t understand how they could have gotten our orders wrong when we only ordered 4 items. Instead of the Chicken Tikka they gave us something else, this was actually okay because there could have been miscommunication between us and them, but when they came back a second time with our chicken tikka dish and it was a half size, not the full size we ordered. Two mistakes! It’s as if they never took our orders! <br/><br/>Apart from the waiting service, everything else was pleasant. The restaurant was cozy and quiet which was great for our table as we enjoyed being able to converse without much consideration for others. The Paneer was probably our favorite dish, it had such a rich flavor and the paneer just worked fantastically well with the curry. Again as with most Indian cuisines, the curries had beautiful colors which just makes it more palatable. Chicken Tikka wasn’t too bad and nor was the masala.<br/><br/>Pretty good Indian food and would recommend if you're after an Indian fix.<br/><br/>Showstopper: The paneer was bombs.<br/><br/>Overall Grade: B

Nothing special about this place. Not really authentic Indian but it’s close. Ordered handi chicken with butter naan. It was good but definitely not perfect Punjabi taste. <br/>Do I recommend? Amm, if you are really craving Indian food, you should definitely go, otherwise you can pass on this one.
Sunitha
Excellent food! I don't miss home food anymore.. found my perfect choice.. very happy with their service and food quality.. so far Tandoori chicken, fish curry with rice, lamb curry with rice were delicious.. just like back home
Carlo Enrique
First time to try Indian food and this place was not a bad start to try it. The Samosa was worth the price and it was packed with goodness. Place was also cozy which really brings the essence of Indian culture. One improvement that I can think of is the service, maybe a little more smile here and there. 😁😁😁
FoodFelix
To be very honest it’s a one time one particular time take away review. Chicken biriyani special dhum style. Chicken was nice and soft which leads to a question how many hours or days they kept it marinated and refrigerated. Rice and spices mixed smoothly and quantity was handful as reasonably priced. Quick and simple.

Oh my god this is the absolute worst restaurant that I've been to in my life. I ordered chicken corn soup-you'd think everyone knows how to make that but no. I got served some liquid with a scrambled egg gone wrong. I also ordered butter chicken. Over priced, miserly serving and nothing I couldn't make at home with a store bought masala box!
Chetan Mani
Oredred chkn tikka masala..<br/>Really disappointed from them..<br/>How it used to be totally different to that one..<br/>No flavour no spices.. Just pieces of chkn breast in tomato gravy..<br/>Will definetly not going back..<br/>They might b change chef or management i dont know but quality is decreased by 90 percent..<br/>Even naan breads are not like that how used to be..<br/>Not recommended at all.<br/>

I always liked the lunch special ..... It is affordable and the curry is good ....ambience is nice with good background music ... The condiments at the counter also provide some refreshiment.

For guys starving for Indian food(the authentic spicy kind) in New Zealand this is the place. Be sure to try the Chinese as well. It’s very unique and is suited for the Indian place.

Aahhh, sorry guys for giving such low ratings but your food actually deserves this.<br/>Ordered chicken malai tikka but there was no malai..and then who in this world put cabbage and carrots on tikka..I never saw that anywhere else..and it was really wierd combo.<br/>Fish tikka was absolute blank with no flavours, we returned it back to recreate the flavour but I think Mr. Chef just added some salt and send it back..<br/>Main course--why did I ordered it..Delhi style butter chicken, are you guys kidding me, salty and over spiced, this is not Delhi style..<br/>Karahi chicken, ohh chicken was just confused about the gravy it was in..<br/>Yea, mutton seekh was good but again who uses cabbage and carrots in it ...<br/>Guys , I'm very sorry to leave such hard review but I have to do it..might be a reality check kind of thing for u guys..all d best..

My partner and I are great fans of your Hobson street branch. However our latest takeaway order has left us very unsatisfied. We ordered a Chicken Madras and a lamb vindaloo with 2 garlic naan and 2 samosas. We arrived home and realised we had been given a chicken korma instead of the madras and the vindaloo was not as spicy as I had asked for. and was dripping in grease. In addition to this we normally receive complementary poppadoms when we order takeaway however they were not included this time. We were also overcharged for what we ordered by almost 10 dollars.<br/> In addition to this the restaurant was almost empty so I have no idea for the mix ups.<br/><br/>Really not happy with the service this time, however we have had previous good experiences so will give you one more chance to get your act together.

Really good food and customer service - will ask how spicy you like your curry no matter whether you order a korma or a vindaloo. Meal was ace!
Deep Animesh
Bad staffing ! Rude ! And dirty and no courteous to ask for even water while serving for the customer . Very much disappointed . <br/>Expected a lot but returned back with bad food.
Vivek
Tried their goat curry, handi chicken but it  was bit disappointing as the order was served within 3 minutes and the roti was half uncooked. Staff doesn't wear smile and were arguing with each other all the time which made us laugh :). We asked for cold water instead of normal room temperature and the ice filled jar was dirty . Sorry guys and i am happy we didn't spend much time here.
Josh
I would like to say 0 .... for PATHETIC Customer service !!! <br/>Highly untrained and Mannerless staff.<br/>Have been going to this place for years...but the guy who served us was absolutely rude.<br/>Never going back again.<br/>Management please train ur staff.
Aanchal Thapli
This is not happening for the first time but 4th time they always give2 different plate in my table<br/>Whenever me and my partner goes there for lunch or dinner. Also the plates are chipped . They come so late to take the order and also to give the menu. The papad basket was so dirty when I removed he napkin and saw. I mean where is the hygiene and hospitality .? Never feel<br/>Like going to this place but it's just when we have no option and have to go out for dinner late we have to go.
Gurinder Seth
Its going to be to the point-<br/>No customer service, Rude staff, No meal check, Untrained Manager, Food was runny, even though it was a quite evening.<br/>Overall negetive feedback.<br/><br/>

This place is generally a hit or miss. You'll see this with the rest of the reviews as well. I used to go here quite regularly, at times the food is delicious, at times it lacks flavour or heat. Waiting times will vary, they'll either be extremely prompt or leave you waiting for ages. One time they completely forgot my order when I ordered with a friend and had to wait for an extra 30 minutes while mine got made and my friends went cold (we had ordered takeaway). Be sure to ask for a repeat of the order when placed and double check you have everything before you leave. In saying that, when they're good they're great!
Aman
Been here before food was good but went last night couldn’t even eat my food one naan was Burt and the other naan wasn’t even cooked the Pappdums were burnt and also chicken tasted a bit weird probs won’t be going back tbh

We have been visiting raviz from 6 years now and food quality has improved over the period of time.<br/><br/>Good quality food at affordable price. The decor is average. Staff are helpful sometimes and sometimes its not. Food is quite delicious except the part of food coloring which is used. Takeaways are cheap but ocassionaly quality is compromised.<br/><br/>There have been few ocassions where our naan and roti was served half cooked. We have also informed the wait staff on few ocassions and it was replaced but with same result.<br/><br/>Must go if you are really looking for some great curries at affordable price. You wont regret. :)

The staff here does not really care about their customers. They never greet you with a smile, when they serve you, they are a bit grumpy and it is not a pleasant experience. Our office group went for lunch on a Friday afternoon and we were about 15 of us. Amongst us we ordered 3 types of curries (butter chicken, karahi paneer and korma) along with naans and drinks. I understand that we were a big group and serving us would have been a nightmare for the staff however they didn't make things better. This guy who was serving us was rude and he told us that sort out who wants to eat naan yourself and put the bread tray on the table and just left. We didn't see him after that and the other guy who was serving us later didn't have a clue what he was doing. To sum it up, the customer service was as bad as you can get anywhere else. This place used to be good but now things have changed and the food doesn't taste great, the staff isn't friendly and you don't feel welcomed. I was disappointed and so was our group. I used to like Raviz and would always come here for my meals but not anymore. I would really love to see Raviz in its old glory days.

I ordered hot chicken biryani from raviz hobson st..when i had it,,really trust me it was flavourless biryani with not even salt in it..its the worst biryani i ever had so far in auckland...
Ashish Gosar
Been to this restaurant many times but today it was worst experience for me. At first they served main meals before entrees and soup and we had to ask them to bring entrees first and on top of that the meal served was cold. Even the taste was not that good.
Karena
Love this place 😊😊😊 great food, Vegetable Machurian with naan in a beautiful sauce!! It's amazing the delivery takes an hour on my end but it's worth the wait 😊😊😊😊
Miss Kiki
I have dined here a many times for lunch and it has been mostly good.<br/>Love the chicken mughlai. Have tried the malai kofta, beef korma, butter chicken, googley masala and karahi paneer.<br/>I think the lunch special at $14 is good value, you get a curry and naan. The food won't blow you away but it's good for the price.

It was my second visit within two weeks after reading the reviews I decided to review them after a couple of visits. On both the occasion we were there after 10 pm still had good occupancy. Service is prompt and I really enjoyed the Tandoori chicken and chicken tikka very flavoursome and made up to perfection also the Hot and sour chicken soup was awesome. Paji looked after us very well. The atmosphere was same as when you enter a busy restaurant with full on Indian crowd. My only suggestion is it would be great to see some new wall paintings 😊

Well wasted my $31. Ordered food from raviz Hobson street the food was completely cold and rice was not cooked properly. The ordered reach to our home in one hour 15 mins instead of 40-45 minutes which we have been told initially. The packaging of food was pathetic all the curry was spilled in the bag. My partner saw the food was kept on the foot mat of car. Very Bad service. No more order from them in future
Misty
We ordered: Butter chicken, chicken vindaloo, plain naan, garlic naan and 1 beer, and the total came to about $50. Naan was nice but a bit burnt on the edges. Curries were pretty good too with plenty of chicken pieces. The service could be improved though.
Che McKenzie
Slow service, poor communication and served others who arrived after us first. Acceptable food. Too many other options to bother coming here for a third time.
I Am Hungry
Poor service, bad food and bad hygiene, perfect example of how not to run a restaurant...also there is no parking...making money on indian students who live nearby and don't mind poor hygiene..wont be going again...very fast in taking your money and very poor in listening to your feedback..they dont care...
Aj
I didn't have a very pleasant experience once again when I decided to go back and try my luck after 2 years. I ordered for a chicken fried rice last night for take away which turned out to be so greasy and cold when i had it after 10 minutes and felt sick afterwards. Going back ? Never!
Nirpakh Tuteja
Ordered Paneer tikka masala (Indian Spicy), the curry was like red color has been added by mistake, it was a lot more than usual. The taste was good yet but the rice they served with curry were microwaved and stale. There was a foul smell from rice which ruined our dinner.
S&G Take Auckland
Went here with a few work colleagues on a Thursday night.<br/><br/>The food was very average indeed, and overpriced. You're better off making the trip to Paradise or Bawarchi instead.
Chef Studio
Well definitely need some improvement on service. Our waitress was polite but looked little confused. Food took longer then usual, we finished half of our sides when main arrived. Overall food was ok , but lacked flavour.

Raviz has the usual slightly off decor that most Indian restaurants in Auckland seem to have. Sometimes the staff are nice, sometimes they are a bit moody. Sometimes I've gone in there and it's smelled like cleaning bleach. <br/><br/>Despite all this I go to Raviz on Hobson St all the time. The food is incredible. There's a lot of meat in the curries. There are lots of onions and spices. The Naan comes out steaming hot. The rice is perfectly fluffy. The papadums you get given as an entree are tasty. And it's consistent. I've been coming here for over 7 years and every single meal I have had is perfectly consistent. It blows my mind. How do they do this? Who's in the kitchen? Is it one person? Is it multiple? The menu is far too long to be able to quickly and masterfully make that many curries so consistently. <br/><br/>Auckland has a tonne of sub-par Indian places with watery curries that have two small pieces of meat drowning in it, dry rice and microwaved nan. So it's an absolute mystery to me how this place has such a low rating. <br/><br/>This is the best Indian food I've eaten in Auckland. <br/>
Ankur Mishra
One of the worst indian diners I have been to, rude staff, inconsiderate and does not seem eager to serve. The hygiene is pathetic, with lipstick marks on glasses, and oil you can practically smell on plates. A huge no no for anyone.
Avi Yabaluri
We went here on a Monday evening..<br/> it started out quiet, got busy after we were served our mains, so we didn't have any major service issues like the other reviewers seemed to have had! The time it took for the food to be brought to our table was just right. I didn't like the songs played, just a mishmash of different types!<br/><br/>Ordered the Chicken Tikka (half) and the Tandoori Paneer for the entrée - the Paneer was a bit bland but everything else (chicken, onions, capsicums) had good flavour!<br/><br/>Mains were Palak/Saag Paneer (mixed opinions, ranging between average and awesome), Cheese Na'an (super fresh, super amazing), Chicken Manchuria (delicious, as always) and Chicken Fried Rice (tasteful) - all in all, enjoyed it to the point of overeating! In our experience, Raviz has always been best place in Auckland for Indo-Chinese food and this time, we liked more than just that!
Katie Johnson
Loyal customer to Raviz on Hobson street however lately the service and quality of food has declined. During dining for lunch we found a cockroach in our meal and were left with a pathetic excuse. It's not worth the time or effort if they are going to treat customers with disrespect. It is a dirty restaurant and i wouldn't recommend

Raviz is one of the few Indian restaurants in CBD that actually come close to serving actual Indian food. I don’t do sit downs and as such delivery is my only option. Delivery times vary for this place, but I haven’t ever had to call to find out if they forgot my food. The food itself as I mentioned is quite good – good use and balance of spices, never stale. Especially like their dish which has both lamb and chicken. Wasn’t too impressed by their non-veg platter and it needs a bit of work. <br/><br/>The tandoor items tasted very similar with the exception of the kebabs, which were a delight. Price in comparison to other Indian restaurants in the CBD is decent. Keep up the good work and my only suggestion is have better (read distinct) marinades for the tandoor.
Seethal Sivarajan
Raviz is and has always been a convenient place to eat for me and my friends as we love Indian food. I love their lunch combos, cause the quantity and the quality they offer for that price is really great, but the dinner gets little expensive if not ordered smartly.<br/><br/>I was there just yesterday, as we felt like having dinner outside and also chose Raviz as that was the only open option that late in the night. My friend was not in a mood to try something new, so we were stuck to chicken punjab with garlic naan and lachha paratha for me. But the foodie in me could not resist and I ended up ordering Chicken 65, as we had not tried it before and also cause it said famous south indian dish (the south indian in me could not miss that caption ;p ). The rest of the order was good as usual but the Chicken 65 was not that great, also it was neon red in colour which put me off a little bit.<br/><br/>They really need to work on their customer service. Am not being gender discriminant here, but the men working there are more friendly than the ladies working.<br/><br/>Overall the experience at Raviz has been good, great, bad or worse (always fluctuating).......it has never been constant great or good. But still I will prefer Raviz and would recommend it to others if you are not in a mood of experimenting and are expecting a good large meal :) :)<br/><br/>You guys are getting better, please try putting more effort for good customer service :)
Ashish Sharawat
Very very bad service and they hung up when i called and complaint about the wrong order. They never pay attention to details. Very disappointed with service 😒😒. When I called the instore guy Ravi took my call and was quite hesitant to listen to our complaint. This was the third time, can't ignore anymore. <br/><br/>Should recommend no point visiting it.

I, my spouse and two of our common friends visited this restaurant & it was a pathetic experience ever we had. Since we were late and entered this place at 1040pm, there was no one to guide where to seat. The table which was empty was not cleaned and the food was lying on the table. we requested one of their staff members & one of a girl came & just cleaned for sake of doing & went away. I had to call her again to clean sofa again as there was some food lying even there. The height was we ordered our food at 1050pm, & the staff member said us - it will take a long time. So I asked in general how much time it would take. He replied me very politely - up to 15 minutes. So I acknowledged him affirmatively. We waited till 1120pm & finally I asked the status of my food. He replied nicely saying that will be with you in a minute. He came back to us at 1125pm, requesting us to repeat our order. saying that he lost our order page. We had to order again & waited for another 15mins as we had no choice apart from staying & eating there. Another height was - nobdoy came to serve us water during our entire dinner. Finally I spoke with a manager & he just said sorry with a pattern line - you please be seated, I will take care of it. We ordered the mild curry which was damn spicy. To be honest, One must never visit this restaurant ever.

bull shit experience .. we ordered online so that we can get our food on time... but we had to wait for 30 mins as ny food was given to someone else ... worst
Georgie Miles
Really disappointed, ordered dinner via phone while in Birkenhead<br/>and proceeded to drive  into the city to pick up dinner, was told to sit down and I could pay when food was ready (thank goodness) because I proceeded to wait for 25 minutes (trip from the shore took 15 minutes) <br/>I feel asleep  in the restaurant, my son fell asleep in the car. No one approached me and apologised for the delay no one asked if I was ok. So I had enough and left. there were four tables there and one of those tables were waiting for take away. so total time waiting was 40 minutes<br/>won't go back :(
Abhishek Jaiswal
We ordered veg platter for two and they gave rotten samosa. On returning the food? waitress is sayingn its smell of spices. Really disgusting service. The food quality is going bad day by day.
Bhagyesh Prabhumirashi
Yesterday me and my friends went for a dinner. The seating arrangement was completely uncomfortable. <br/>The food service was very slow. We ordered delhi style butter chicken in which chicken was dry and tasteless roti and naan took half n hour to come to the table staff was not at all friendly and after coming home me and my friends going through a bad stomach problem. It was waste of money and time. It was worst experience. I will not recommend this restaurant to any one.
Lorvie Reglos
Good for someone who is not too hungry who has forever to wait for dinner. Not good for someone who is starving and no time to eat. Slowest service. Not recommended
Geeta Patel
Went there for dinner. Horrible spicy food and no service at all. The staff is so rude and disrespectful to clients. Inedible spicy food and no apology from management or staff. They don't value their clients or business. Horrible food and horrible staff.
Akshay Bijawat
Pathetic, Front staff doesn't care if tables are clean or not, they don't even serve you water until asked. Please don't even think of using their basins to wash your hands it will turn your mood off. I highly doubt if the food served is clean or not. You are bringing bad name to service industry.

I was recommended to go to Raviz by a friend of mine who said if I wanted to experience real authentic and tasty Indian food this would be the place however it was entirely the opposite. Food was terrible, we ordered 5 different dishes and all but one of them was disappointing - the only good thing apart from that was the naan bread. <br/><br/>We we're seated around the corner, close to the front counter - as a person who works in industrial buildings with large air conditioning systems I noticed we were sat right under a large AHU(air handling unit) that looked like the filters and grill have never been cleaned in years, you could almost see the dust falling down into our food. <br/><br/>The only good thing to come out of this horrible experience would be the person who served us, I didn't get the waiters name but she was the only person there that I felt like actually cared about the customer.

Me and my friends planned to dine in on the 19th dec as it was our friends birthday. We checked the website and the timings shown were from 10am to 12:30pm. We called ahead to check with the staff. We were told the timings had changed and they would close at 11pm. So we decided to takeaway instead . We ordered about three vegetarian curries and three butter naans, two cheese naans and two lachas pranthas. I was recommended by a couple of friends that the food is exceptionally good. But to our expectations the food was crap. The naans were not cooked properly as well as pranthas. It feels like as our order was the last order for the evening and the chef screwed it up so bad . I would recommend people not to go to ravis at all. So disappointed. Not worth the money spent. 😡😡😡😡<br/>
Robb Guess
Horrible food and service! They over packed our takeaway and the bag ripped mere feet from the restaurant. They blamed us  and said if we could not 'handle it' we should have asked for another bag. What a pack of retards! Never go there. If you are looking for a good Indian place go to Paradise Indian Restaurant in Sandringham
Paula Guitierrez
The food was very nice, we loved the naan bread. The service was good and I think the price during lunch time it's a very good deal. I wouldn't go during dinner time because I feel it's too expensive.

Staff can be less than friendly in here sometimes. Overall the food is good priced for a quick lunch. Tried for dinner but for the price there are many better Indian restaurants.

Worst Tandoori chicken i ever had in my life , i guess the chef is changed , had Been there before couple of times clearly say that Their standard has been Dropped !<br/>Not recommended

Been with my friend here for dinner . Ordered entree but found chicken tikka really rubbery like it has been in miccrowave . Mains & naan was good . Had been here several time from last 2 years & can clearly say that customer service is going really down . Must give a good training to wait staff .

Food quality has gone down drastically. Curries have become watery nowadays.<br/>Need to improve it before my ratings go up again.<br/>I guess the chef has changed.

Ordered my delivery at 6.25 pm waited till 7.35 after 1 hour and 10 minute I rang them to ask how far is food and the lady who picked my call said I just started my shift so I need to checked I mentioned to her I ordered at 6.25 again she turn over very rude and cut my phone. I really don't know she know the meaning of hospitality and value of work and customer. After 1 hour and 30 minute I got my food delivered which they mention 45 minute for waiting time.<br/> I don't have problem the food take long time make sure mention to customer so they can be @ prepared what time they able to have dinner second thing teach customer service and manner to staff.staff who don't valve customer service will never valve someone business.

I went with some friends to celebrate my birthday. My sister is vegan, and the guy who take our order didnt know very well what is vegan in the list. And she has to order twice, cause she said "NO SPICY" and she finally couldn't eat, cause all the times the dishes were spicy.<br/>I ate seafoods with coconut milk, and it wasn't spicy. Next all my friends got stomach ache.

I would like to give rating of 5 but I am giving rating of 3.5 because of poor customer service by your female staff who is at Front counter. We did the order approx. 4 to 5 times on phone, but she always show rude behavior. So i would like to suggest that please give her some advice about how to treat customers on phone and stay calm all the time. <br/><br/>But your food is always as tasty as ever. YUMMMMMY good.........

My friend hosted a BYO here and I thought the food was pretty decent. We all shared each other's food but I ordered the lamb vindaloo with roti bread. The curry wasn't as spicy as I expected it to be but nevertheless the heat was still there. It was a bit salty though, I couldn't eat it without rice or bread. The roti bread was good but a bit too greasy, as in it was dripping oil so I had to dab it with my napkin. Other than that it was pretty good 👍 it's quite small and intimate so there wasn't much room to move around. The only issue we had was with the garlic naans that my friends ordered, they took forever to come out and even with some hassling they didn't manage to bring out the correct number of garlic naans.

In the middle of my meal i found a toothpick in my food(vege korma) rather then changing my food, staff lady just said sorry and left our table. Which is disgusting I think

Don't Bother!!! Ordered a takeaway, received a text saying it would be an hour. Standard for Raviz. 2.5 hours later and 3 phone calls. Still no delivery, when I called back for the 4th time the lady on the phone tried to say the driver was stuck in traffic!!!!!! 1.5 hours from Hobson street to Parnell on a Sunday evening????? Come on Raviz, if you've made a mistake at least have the humility to own up to it and rectify the situation!!! Was offered the drivers number, declined and cancelled order. Will not use this place again or recommend. Worst service I've ever experienced.

UPDATE ON MY REVIEW. 09/03/2017 - we went to Raviz last weekend and has being treated very badly by the manager. We asked to order mains 100 of times instead of letting us enjoy our drinks, when we went to order it on the counter the Manager said ' You should not order mains here as its affects OUR GOODWILL' Goodwill??? you don't have one.  The Manager was very rude and unprofessional I must say since this particular manager has started working at Ravis the services quality have gone down. Anyways we have decided to cancel our order after an argument with the manager and walk out after paying our bills and WOULD NEVER GO BACK. Food is still good but these guys think they do a big favor by feeding their paid clients...   REVIEW 8MONTHS AGAO We go to Raviz regularly.. one of the nicest place in Auckland for an indian curry .. the paneer Tikka masala is best in Auckland (without any food coloring) dahl is very nice...highly recommended.......

A family night out.<br/> The tables are packed in quite a bit, so the place is quite noisy when it's busy. This kinda of place reminds me of back home. Yummy food, service was a bit slow but what the heck we had a ball. nice ambiance  and also nice to see a portrait of   Bapu and sachin hanging on a wall.

I had a very bad experience . The food which I ordered was kind foul smell with yeast especially the naan Bread . The chicken biryani we ordered wasn't good enough . We gave this feedback to the receptionist but she was quite disappointing. She didn't apologise and showed a arrogant attitude . I would never love to go back to this Resturant. Raviz are usually good franchise for Indian food . But please won't suggest anyone to go in Hobson street Banch.

As we heard many abt raviz and gone for launch with my 2 other friends. We ordered the launch special curry and when we finished almost 60% i found hair in my curry and we called to waiter and he said he will look and take the plate without any apology. After that lady told that you need to change or its fine?? Actually we didn't wanna eat any more any we left all the food. At last we called for manager but the guy who takes the plate from us was manager we came to know at last. We said we will not pay for that curry where we got hair but they reject and told us that we eat almost food than we have to pay but its not our problem that we found hair in last what a excuse.. From today never recommend any friends over their for a bad experience..

Me: I would like a chicken biryani. How spicy is it?<br/>Waiter: Well, how spicy do you want it to be?<br/>Me: Whatever you consider spicy.<br/>Waiter: So you want the Indian level of spicy?<br/>Me: Like, spicy even for Indians?<br/>Waiter: We can do that.<br/>Me: Alright, make it as spicy as possible.<br/>Waiter: Are you sure?<br/>Me: Yes, I'm pretty sure I can handle it.<br/><br/>10 minutes later food arrives. Stomach lining corroded, eyes watering. Could not handle it. Best biryani I've had in years. 5/5

Food was very nice. Their butter chicken is the best in NZ.  The cheese-naan is soft and delicious. Decorations are lovely. <br/>I had a good experience overall and I would definitely come back again.

Raviz is a famous franchise for Indian cuisine in Auckland and is located in a fabulous location just across the sky tower. <br/><br/>Unfortunately with our last experience with Raviz, the above things were the only positives. <br/><br/>As we went into the restaurant it was already 11PM, which was still listed as the restaurant operating hours on their website. It appeared as if the staff were trying to close down the restaurant and were almost not wanting to welcome us happily. <br/><br/>We were left stranded in a corner without any staff coming over to take the orders. The place smelled of floor wash and it almost felt like it was about to close down. <br/><br/>Talking about the food - Butter Chicken was tasty, Veg Korma was below average, matar paneer was decent and the naan's were fluffy. <br/><br/>Half way through the meal the lights above us were turned on which again made us feel un welcomed. <br/><br/>I've been to Raviz a few times and the inconsistency in taste and service will not get me back here henceforth. <br/><br/>

First time that we dined in the Hobson street branch, we were placed at a table in the far corner by ourselves while all the other customers were sitting on another end. Not only did our food was an hour late in arriving, other customers who arrived and ordered after we did, received their meals. My husband and I just walked up and left the restaurant and decided that we would just order takeaways from them in the future of we were craving Indian food. This was also practical given that we lived in the apartment beside them. Months after that however, we decided to give them a try. Our food arrived on time and food was delicious. We have since eaten a few times here and the food is always tasty but they really need to work on their customer service as well as communication among one another as there were times where we were placed near a wet floor or they had forgotten to prepare a dish that we had ordered.

For start it was my first time I have been here.<br/>I ordered some Joosh lamb and garlic bread. <br/>And some mango chiken. <br/>It was tasty and beautiful. Loved it.<br/>And it was quite fast too.<br/>I loved it.they still need to work on their customer service. <br/>

Gone for Christmas lunch. Lunch special price is a good one. Food was good. Service was too slow. The place was too crowdy.  Ok for the money paid.

Highly disappointed with both customer service and food! Start of my rant... <br/><br/>My job involves user / customer experience so here's a few tips for free:<br/><br/>Lesson 1 - Don't leave customers waiting to be served.<br/>I called to place a delivery order and the man asked if he could take my details and call me back in a couple of minutes. I figured they were busy so no problem and said he could call me back. Over 10 minutes later and still no call. I decided to ring back. He apologised and said he'd throw in something free for the hassle. I was upset that he didn't call me back promptly but was pleased he'd made up for it by offering something for free.<br/><br/>Lesson 2 - Don't over promise and under deliver to a customer.<br/>The man I called said he'd throw in something for free. When our order arrived... nothing was thrown in for free. He promised something and he did not deliver on his promise :(<br/><br/>Lesson 3 - Train your delivery men to provide effortless customer service.<br/>We have had no issues with other takeaway delivery places. They find our place, buzz our apartment number and deliver the food. You're delivery man asked me to find him downstairs and collect my order because he couldn't find a car park and would get fined. This isn't my problem. I pay extra for delivery so your delivery man should use some initiative and not make his problem of not finding a car park and being fined my problem. I didn't care that I had to come down. What upset me was your delivery man's lazy response and attitude. It's like saying, "sorry I'm at lunch and I don't want to be put out so could you wait till I've finished before I can serve you."<br/><br/>Lesson 4 - This isn't related to customer experience but food (which I'm not an expert in but have eaten at lots of Indian restaurants). The food in the end was very bland, and the rice was Jasmine not Basmati which normally is served with Indian cuisine. Basmati is more expensive so I'm guessing Raviz might be doing some cost cutting.<br/><br/>End of rant.
ANKIT
I like RAVIZ because of their lunch deals.GOOD place for eating Indian delicious food.<br/>The quality of food is good.ordered KARAHI paneer it come with rice $ 3 naan.<br/><br/>Customer service is OK <br/>Pic: KARAHI PANEER<br/>$:13.95(lunch)<br/><br/>

Really disappointed with the service and food. I ordered dal makhni and naan. Dal makhni was tasteless and naan were so thick and half cooked. Upon that they let their customers unattended for long time and after placing order takes ages to serve food.<br/>
Sagar Acharya
Went for dine in on a weekend, Considering weekend not that crowded. Ordered paneer makhani, just because not much of variety on curries for a being a restro. I guess take ways have more varieties on curry. Though the food was not as expected it would be. The quantity of serving was really less. Naan "Indian Flat Breads" were really good. Economical, but not worth the money.

This used to be my go to place during my uni days. Mainly because it had some good lunch deals and good portions... I wouldn't say that Raviz is a great restaurant, but It is neither good nor bad.. There is nothing that stands out for raviz, except for the price.. One thing that i didn't like was he color that they put in some curries.. <br/><br/>Ambience is alright, service is ok..

I ordered haka noodles *2 and a tandoori fish at 7:45pm and I got a text that I will receive my food delivery at 8:40pm. The food came almost an hour late. I had my food in my hand at 9:35pm. The delivery guy Mr. AJAY PAL SINGH texted me twice at 9:15pm to come down for picking up the food and he came at 9:35pm. Still I didn't ask any single question that why he was late and after taking the food I said Thankyou to that delivery guy he was nodding his head so proudly as if he was early. He don't have minimum common sense to say sorry. Yup coming to taste of the fish... One side it was totally burnt and no one eat that and the other side of fish I had only the masala left no flesh in that. Noodles didn't have any taste the person who made it just mixed up all the boiled noodles vegetables and some stir fried chicken and egg. No spices taste or anything else. I laughed at the menu of raviz that the chef will kill them if they tell this shitty noodles recipe lol... If I rating of -10 I would given that. Will never order from this place again. RATING: -10 FOR FOOD TASTE, DELIVERY SPEED AND YOUR DELIVERY GUY IT'S -25... I know that you guys will don't care about reviews or rating, even if you don't post the negative feedback at least lift up your services and tell your staff to be friendly and professional. (19 Nov 2015) I posted this in menulog but these guys didn't accept the review.

We went to Raviz on Hobson street yesterday as its been always a first choice for us since longtime. It was a birthday treat from one of my friend. We ordered several dishes and found alright except Navratna Korma and Dal tadka. Hence being loyal customers to Raviz, we complained to the server as well as to the cashier. And the recovery we received from both was just a word "sorry" wherein the issue wasn't escalated to the manager on duty too. Unfortunately we couldn't see any hospitality. It was quite disappointing for the first time.

The staff here was really nice. As far as the food goes we enjoyed our biryani and the lamb rogan josh is highly recommended. Butter chicken was a slight disappointment though but I guess the indian flavour in butter chicken is indeed hard to find in restaurants in akl. Overall I was satisfied with my experience here..

Tried their Pakistani chicken and lamb biryanis. It's a bit on the spicy side but delicious nonetheless. I think its one of the best thing on their menu. Another plus side is that this place is open till real late, so it makes for a good late night hunger buster.

Had a dinner here as I was staying in Sky City only. The place is very popular on various travel site so I went their with an good expectation of food but the taste was very average. I would advice to look for other good indian restaurant too as their are lot many option in Auckland.
Mila
Food is always amazing. Great staff really friendly. If your in the look out for good Indian food go to Raviz.

Had dinner here on Sunday night after seeing a show at Sky City. Was still open at 10.30 on a Sunday which was surprising but it was very busy. They didn't have any tomato based curries that didn't contain cream/dairy which is really disappointing and meant I couldn't order a curry I liked. I decided to go for chicken tikka, and partner had butter chicken. Chicken tikka was a massive portion for $17 but it was SO salty I couldn't even finish half of it. Butter chicken tasted very burnt and had little black specks through it as though they had burnt the bottom of the pan. Naan bread was nice and fluffy. Overall the place looked a bit dirty and rundown and food wasn't anything fantastic!

Pathetic food and very unprofessional behaviour. I ordered chicken biryani. The chicken was not fresh. Both me and my wife had stomach upset after eating it. My wife even vomited. When I called them the other day, the manager apologised and said please come again today and we will serve you biryani complementary. When we went there, the manager denied this and said we can't give you biryani free of cost. One thing is sure that never again I will dine there or suggest it to anyone.

Raviz curry has a good rogan josh on it menu and I have found the food here always to be consistent. Very affordable and the $10 specials are a great cause to go back #g1

There was every reason to keep going there for their delicious goat curry and lamb biryani.<br/>Also love their prawn chilly garlic <br/>Wonderful experience

I came here with a Grabone voucher for entrees and two curries plus rice & naan. All the staff were friendly when we arrived, although we got it to take away as we wanted to eat at home. We didn't wait too long, and the food was packaged up nicely for us. The portions were huge, definitely more than enough for two people. The entrees were nothing special, but the curries were quite good and flavourful. The naan bread was also nice and doughy, and of a good size. The voucher definitely gave the meal great value for money, but it wouldn't have been too bad without it either.

Had heard a lot about Ravi's and going by the number of outlets they have in Auckland, one can safely assume that it's one of the biggest and most popular Indian restaurant here..<br/>The upholstery is white and black, perhaps an attempt at yin and yang philosophy but kind of makes the place look dark and will remind you of a typical Indian suburban pub..<br/>We ordered lamb jhalfrezi, rarha chicken, dal tadka and kadhai paneer along with cheese naan, tandoori paranthas and rotis..food tasted good and authentic..their medium spicy is more towards hot than medium..service was good despite the fact that we went quite near to the closing time.<br/>All in all a good and relaxed dining experience..

We went for lunch on 29th Aug at 3 pm. We had methi mattar paneer with roti and naan and salad. Everything was delicious. I enjoyed the roti. The curry was tasty. We will return when we come to Auckland. The service was good. Recommended. Thanks

The food is very normal not fancy and not low quality, staff are friendly and good place to have Indian food, but not a luxcury reastuarant. I like the lamb beriany to share, but prawn briany thoesn't have much prown in it.
Mabel
Had the butter chicken little mild for my taste buds but other than that was a good butter chicken. Would return but next time ask for hotter I think. Nan bread excellent!!

Came here with my friend for a girls dinner. Raviz had a deal as part of the Auckland restaurant month which we mentioned to the waiter on our arrival who acknowledged he knew about it. The place wasn't overly crowded. So we ordered our food and the dishes came out quickly and were quite good. Desserts were included as part of the deal - $25 each for 3 course. This was displayed clearly on the restaurant month website, along with other eateries and their deals. There was no mention of bringing any proof, tickets or voucher for the discount to be applied.  We had been to a few other places as part of the restaurant month - none of whom required a voucher. <br/>When it came to pay we were told it was $35 each, not $25 as we were told we needed a "voucher" for the discount. There is no mention of any such thing on the website, but the lady was unaware of the restaurant month and the deal their own place had, so she called for the manager/owner who explained to us we must have the voucher. We tried to reason with him and ask him why when it is for all to see on the website, but he refused to let the deal apply and was stubborn and unwilling to consider the advertised offer, and told us we had to pay full price. <br/>If any such place agrees to be part of any deal such as restaurant month then surely they and their employees must be aware of it too? It just was unfair thinking we were there as part of a deal when refused when it came to pay. Very poor ethics, very poor management control, and absolutely no concept of customer service which is a disgrace to the restaurant profession. It was deceitful. <br/>The duty manager "Singh" and the staff working tonight (23/8/15) need to know what good customer service is and if there is a deal they have signed on to, they should honour it, without question. <br/>Disgraceful, disgraceful, disgraceful. Won't be back again.

I think the food is great - they have wide menu with good variety.<br/><br/>The Butter Chicken and Rogan Josh are real standouts, probably the best in the CBD. The service can be a bit iffy especially during busy times like Lunch or after work.<br/><br/>Nice atmosphere, the restaurant is warm and plays music with good lighting.<br/><br/>Pretty good overall.

I like Raviz. I always find my curries to be full of flavour and good sized portions. I have been several times now. <br/>But there is just something I have to complain about because I find it so ridiculous. I ordered a green salad. and with a name like that a picture came to mind of green leafs like lettuce or spinach. But anyways what I got shocked me actually.<br/>I was so disappointed and confused!<br/>A plate of sliced RAW carrots, cucumber and literally I kid you not... Raw onion! big circles of raw onion. and was this unappetising salad at least served with a sauce? or dressing? no... no sauce to give it flavour or help with dryness of carrot.... but pepper sprinkled on top. As if you needed more spice with your raw onions.<br/>And then I laughed when i saw underneath there was tiny bits of lettuce the size of my thumbnail and about 12 little pieces sprinkled there. I am just shocked that this would even be served at a restaurant! they should be embarrassed. who wants to sit there all night munching through lots of raw carrot sprinkled in pepper?<br/><br/>I am so disappointed to even pay $5.50 for that!<br/>wasn't even served in a nice looking way.<br/>Such a waste of money!

A decent Indian place with average service. We went here a few days ago for lunch and grabbed the lunch special. Although we were greeted, I felt no sincereity in the greeting and was quickly seated near the window. Since I LOVE spicy food, I ordered myself the butter chicken with 'Indian spicy.' The food wasn't too bad. The naan was chewy and well cooked with the butter chicken being creamy and perfectly spicy. The rice was a little undercooked but wasn't too bad. Overall, nothing too fancy...The ambience ok but nothing spectacular, the service was average and the food good. Worth a visit but hard to see me being a regular here.
Zoe Huang
Had a good group-buy experience at Raviz. $30 for two including a sharing platter, two mains and two naans. After finishing the sharing platter is 70% full already~ if you cant finish the mains you can takeaway. the service was very nice as well.

We came here for my friend's birthday dinner. We were greeted upon entering the restaurant and were directed towards our seats. The wait staff were friendly and attentive, but not annoying which is always good!<br/><br/>I ordered the chicken tikka masala and Jessica got the chicken biryani. We both got a mango lassi each (because these are amazing!!) and tried out some different naan breads. We got the plain and the keema naan which had spiced lamb inside!<br/>Our orders came out quite quick, which is good considering it wasn't too busy on a week night! My food was pretty decent and I loved the plain naan! I wasn't a fan of the keema naan however, even though it sounded amazing on the menu! The spices just weren't my taste. I think I'll stick to the plain naan in the future, though it was worth trying!<br/><br/>Overall, we had a pleasant experience dining here! The wait staff were friendly, and we enjoyed our meals! I think I'll get chicken tikka next time, or biryani!!! <br/><br/>Sarah Reynolds  #challenge

Nothing spectacular, it's a group favourite dining place purely because of its BYO. To be fair, their Indian food was pretty nice, I tried Mango chicken for the first time here, really liked the collision of sweet, citrus and creamy flavours. I'm regular eater of Chicken Tikka Masala (which I think is nice at all Indian eateries), the chicken Madras is not bad either; but here I would argue that their Chicken Saagwala is spot on! Loved the thick spinach creamy sauce; which made me eat a whole bowl of rice to complement with it! I feel like a way that they could improve is making the naan and roti breads better. I'm usually a great fan of naan bread but here I could barely taste the usual soft and creaminess of the bread let alone smell the aroma of it. Tried the Indian dessert but it wasn't much of a specialty to me-taste like Mango ice-cream.

Grabbed a late bite here after a few unsuccessful nibbles at Masu. We were in the mood for Indian and went into the first one we saw - food was ok, not bad but not memorable. I thought the service was decent, just the right amount of attention. <br/>Not sure about dining in again but would pick up a takeaway if convenient. Overall average but well priced and decent atmosphere.

This place has good Indian food. The ambience needs an urgent upgrade. People skills of staff needs to be polished to keep up with modern service standards.

When reading reviews about Indian restaurants in New Zealand (or anywhere else), the primary consideration should be ..... is the reviewer an Indian? If the reader is a non Indian/Bangladeshi/Pakistani/Nepali, the review by an Indian about the food should be taken lightly. The food is (and should be) made to cater mainly to the local palate. Which means that they taste anything but authentic. I have been there about 3 times and as an Indian, I found the food to be very average. The Tandoori was dry and the curries generally too sweet and creamy. The Biryani wasn't great either. The service is okay and the prices reasonable. Portion sizes are average as well. Not the best Indian restaurant in Auckland by any standards. But definitely not the worst.Food 2.5/5, Service 3/5, Location 2/5 (parking can be a big problem), Portions 3/5

I got a butter chicken for my dinner. It was my first time for Indian food. Just wonder why they gave us one big bowl for 4 people lol and.... the rice is quite weird. Anyhow, the butter chicken didn't make me feel disappoint ed at all :) i love it !

I usually come over just for my lamb briyani fix. Nothing special about the other dishes but I'm not gonna complain.<br/>Probably a good start for those Indian food beginners.

Worst experience ever. Rude staff. No words - although everyone else seems to explain what is wrong with the place perfectly well so I won't bore you all with the same! I wish I could score Ravis a big fat zero

Worst food and worst service we could not even finaih the food and the service guy came and collected the plates its always d same we will never go there again<br/>

The place serves very tasty non veg tandoori platter.. Tandoori Prawns are fresh and tasty... It's has and Indian interior and a homely kind of a place

I have been here on seperate occassions; not because i like coming here but because my friends like indian food. One thing i have noticed is that the staff at this branch are weird. I could literally feel the staff looking over my shoulders. No paying customer wants to feel that way. The food! It's pretty fake to be honest. I mean i have tried real authrntic food and what ravi's is selling is not authentic. Mixing sugar especially in food! All in all, i wouldnt recommend this restaurant.
Akshat
The food is okay but the staff is just down right rude. They make you feel insignificant. The staff thinks it's okay to be unmannerly since the place is always full, due to the large number of Indians living nearby. <br/>

very very disgusting gone from bad to worst over time have given them plenty of opportunity to rectify there flaws now I will NEVER eat there again!<br/><br/>I ordered through menulog took over 2 hrs to be delivered after ordering <br/><br/>food got here stone cold nann's were chewy, curries were the most disgusting I have been given from them ever everything had to be reheated!<br/><br/>before the food used to out rate anything else NOT anymore! <br/><br/>1 chicken curry had sooo much clove pieces in it the whole curry tasted like clove <br/><br/>the other curry was swimming in oil half full container with crap loads of tomato! <br/><br/>I was hungry I ate it anyway which resulted in diarrhea today!<br/><br/>I had to call them more than once to check where the order was <br/><br/>stood outside in the cold twice as was told they were nearly here when they weren't was NEVER apologized for the wait or thanked!!!!<br/><br/>tried to talk to a manager no one has called me back yet emailed in directly NO response I give up now. <br/><br/>BE WARNED NEVER EVER eat here you will regret it! <br/><br/>there is even dried up food on the walls when you dine in its bad been served dirty and chipped plates on more than one occasion the staff are not happy to be there never smiling nothing Im beyond mad now.<br/><br/>thanks for the most horrible experience from a restaurant in my life I wish the media could get onto this as I am reading reviews about the same things yet nothing gets done about it why NOT!?
Chin And Prony Powichitkul
RAVIZ hobson is my go-to for Indian food. I usually get the beef vindaloo extremely hot and it is made exactly that way. The chicken tandoori is always up to standards and probably the most authentic tasting in auckland. Service on the other hand, can be quite inconsistent. Some days they are amazing and attentive, other days they seem to just be so forgetful and slack. I am not fussed about this as I normally eat here for the food not so much for the atmosphere so this will pass :) hygiene could pick up a bit though, tables and glasses could sometimes feel oily.
Karan Khanna
Really poor service!! Just 2 butter nans took almost 20 minutes...curries were horribly aweful and chicked was not even well cooked. No acknowledment whatsoever of you order being taken. Staff just roams around in a surprised shocked manner! Shame!
Cmys001
Will never order from this place again. Food took almost 2 hours to arrive and delivery address was less than 5 minute drive. Food was also below average.

Great place especially for Lunch. My favourite is always Chicken Mugalai. <br/><br/>Had taken my coworkers there couple of times, and though they were slightly reluctant to have Indian food as they thought it could be extremely hot, they were all extremely happy and just loved the food.<br/><br/>The place gets extremely busy during the peak hours and hence be ready to wait a little bit, but it is worth the wait.<br/><br/>Always my favourite Indian restaurant in Auckland

Perfect ambience for planning a dinner with family and friends. Highly recommended if you are looking for delhi taste and flavour.

Chicken Masala "medium" The perfect touch of spicy..Spread the Naan in the Chicken Masala sauce is priceless.Definitely THE BEST place to try Indian food in Auckland.

Every time i visit this place. The food and the quality of the restro service is getting worse. I used to love their delhi style butter chicken but today i hated it. First the Dinner plate which they gave me was not even washed properly then the tandoori roti was burned thn when chicken came it was not as it used to be before. Really disappointed today. I used to love this place but now i don't think so i am going back again.

Every time I visit this restaurant, I must say the service is getting worse. The first time, before I could finish the meal and ask for for the food to be packed to take away, it was cleared. The next time order for three was given and food for two was served. Third time, the food was served after a long wait. People who arrived after me were served before me. Terrible service. 'Sorry' is the password that is loosely used with no intent. Being the only Indian restaurant in the area, the staff do not care anymore. Should possibly stop frequenting this franchisee.

I took a friend there for lunch last Saturday.  We had the lunch special for $12.99.  Food was quite nice and plenty, including both rice and naan bread.  We both enjoyed it.

Good first experience! The place smelled so aromatic with a very family oriented feel to it. The food is even more so eit the long tables and the shared meals. Best curry I've tasted. Very filling! Love it! :) Wil return soon

Good indian food in the cbd. Service is good n food quality also nice. Price also at par with other indian places in auckland. My personal fav is the delhi butter chicken.
Hiral Patel
Food was good. Indian food is my kryptonite. I ordered a Panner dish. Thought it could of been better. But still eatable. Great value for money. Couldn't even finish my curry. Maybe for $10 they could give us less. Instead of heaps for $12.99.

I have a weakness for Indian food, so when it comes to curry I am especially picky. However, Raviz truly takes Indian curry to the next level. The only time I've been there, I got the chicken korma with a naan bread. The korma curry was just the right amount of creamy for me, and was filled with spices and flavor. Dipping small pieces of the naan bread into this curry had to be a treat from the heavens. Needless to say, I came out of Raviz that night completely satisfied with a good Indian curry meal. My only compliant would be the prices, but then again, paying a little more for really awesome food is fine by me.

Food and service both was pathetic. ..

We made an order via menulog, we received a confirmation email at 7.11pm and did not get to eat until around 8.30pm.<br/><br/>We called the establishment twice to be told our dinner will arrive in 5 minutes only to have to call again to explain how frustrated we were with the service.<br/>We were offered discounts for the next order however we will not be ordering from this establishment again.<br/><br/>The food is satisfying however not worth waiting over an hour to eat.<br/>Would recommend going in to eat in store, you may have a different experience.

Awesome food.. Simply something very authentic Indian food!!! Good service...<br/>

I went with my friend and I was waiting in the queue to book a table for us. Finally when we got a chance they said that they didn't have a table for two right now.. and they gave a table for people waiting behind us (maybe the staff's friend). The staff serving food over there really don't know how to treat a customer. The food was good but the customer service is so bad. I won't ever go to this restaurant ever in my life.<br/><br/>The staff are so rude and act like they are doing a favor by serving...they should replace the staff or give them some kind of training.
Liv Van Wormer
I am a server and I understand, and am sympathetic, of how hard it is to be a server in a restaurant. My boyfriend and I waited for an hour and a half before the server told us she had lost our order and asked us to reorder. Then our food comes (which was very tasty) and they left part of the order out. We told them and they still didn't bring us part of it. They offered a free fanta for waiting so long, which I appreciated, but then left the item we didn't get on our check and then told me just not to pay for the item when I mentioned it. I then had calculate the difference on my phone. The waitress was avoiding our glances the whole night and didn't come close to our table after the food was dropped and we had to ask a busser to get our check because, yet again, we waited for a while. Also, quite a few other people where standing around and weren't helping the waitress out. It was by far the worst costumer experience of my entire life. There was no offer to take items off the bill or even an apology. I wish I could recommend it because the food is delicious but I would never wish to put anyone else through an experience like this.

I have been to this restaurant lot of times and after a long time during nee years eve I decided to order a biryani for takeaway. Horrible front staff took my order and said will take 25 mins after I had already paid. I decides to wait and after 45 mins when I kept on asking for my food staff kept on saying another 10 mins. So finally after 1 hour waiting I asked again and one of the lady staff she went to kitchen and came back and said my order was not ready and it will take another 15mins. I asked for money back and she without any apologies or respect for my time gave me money and continued with her work. I will never go back to this place even though I loved some dishes here but not any more. I hope someone will read this review and decide not to go to this restaurant which will be my pay back to this shit place.

Visited Raviz on Hobson St 2 weeks ago and had the worst customer service experience ever. The staff are slack and not at all welcoming. We were a group of 12 friends and wanted a larger table, which they did not let us use "just in case a larger group comes in" (and there were hardly any people in the restaurant to begin with)...it's rude to deny your customers a table. <br/>They came to take our order 15 mins after we sat down at a CRAMPED up table. The place was so cramped up, we decided to walk out! <br/>You guys really need to improve on your customer service.
Mitesh
Excellent place... great ambiance... yummy food....<br/><br/>And customer service... to the tops... A+++ <br/>(Miss Amit)<br/><br/>The only place I can trust for an awesome food experience in Auckland. Flamboyant restaurant. Initially I felt a bit weird with the taste... but after an experience with other restaurants in Auckland.... Raviz Hobson tops my list. Keep up the great work guys !
Amit Anand
The Hobson Street branch always gives us best food but they have to look for better staff management as sometimes you have to wait for long when it gets busy.
DillyDallyEllie
Just tried the newly opened takeaway of Raviz Epsom store and it was absolutely horrible. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone, the curry was watery and totally bland. A few small pieces of chicken for $14.5 is a total rip-off, will never go back again.
Pankaj Khanna
Very good proximity to my office. Excellent food, but is slow on the service. Also their staff need to be a bit more perky with customers. <br/><br/>I would recommend this place but they just need to pull up their socks a bit.

Great service and fanastic butter chicken! I am a great fan of Raviz and always buy up their voucher deals!<br/><br/>Keep up the good work guys!

I've been to Raviz twice so far. Food is good and tasty - but I do wish the portions were a bit bigger.... or at least throw in a piece of roti with rice. <br/><br/>Ambience is okay, but I think the seat cushions are wearing out - it's sinking badly, making sitting an uncomfortable experience. Also, I must say - I spotted a cockroach scaling the walls just next to our table when we were there...<br/><br/>So you might have to look into your hygiene issues. I reckon more light might do the trick... I feel that it's 'too dark' sometimes...

The food is amazzzing! we order Raviz about once a week, would highly recommend the cheese naan, onion bhaji, mushroom fry, malai kebabs, chicken tika oh and the goat curry is superb! <br/><br/>But to be honest the staff really need to work on their service, I would recommend their food as delivery/ takeaway only. Also another thing to mention is their curries are very mild, I always ask for 'Indian hot' rather than just hot but they are still a bit too mild for me.
Harry
I have been to many good (Punjabi Dhaba, Little India)and bad indian food joints and am addicted to indian food. Going to Raviz (twice) has been bad to worse experience. I always believe everybody deserves a second chance, but in my case I feel I would have been better off not giving this place a second chance. On my second visit I could see an upset indian gentleman leaving with friends and even though I do not understand the lingo, it was obvious that the problem was food quality. IMHO try a kebab or some quick food than wasting money on this below average food and service. I am not surprised at all to see so many bad reviews of this place

We have just returned from an appalling experience of trying to have a team lunch at Raviz. In total we were in the restaurant for 1hr 45 minutes, it took 15 minutes to order, then a further 55 minutes (and 3 queries) for the meals to start arrving. The last of the 12 meals arrived almost 20 mins later as it had been forgotten. The rice arrived almost 10 mins after the curries, one very small bowl of naan bread for the whole table. We had colleagues who arrived to sit at a different table 30 mins after us who were up paying when we were half way through getting our meals. The quality of anything non curry was also dry and tough. Then to have to wait in line for 15 mins to pay for this, to be ignored by the fellow on the till until the comment was made 'and clearly you don't care in the least as you are ignoring us' when he admitted he was paying any attention. My first time at Raviz, certainly my last and I feel confident the same goes for my 11 colleagues!

This is the second time we have been there, we wanted to give them a second chance. Unfortunately the second chance was disappointing.<br/>We ordered mango chicken and beef mushroom masala, we asked for medium we got mild, and there was no flavor at all, very bland in both dishes.<br/>We normally go to Night spice in new market and pay less amount to what we paid at Raviz and the dishes at Night spice are so full of flavour. <br/>Raviz is a rip off, for such a bland flavour.<br/>And the rice was watery<br/>The service is very slow, had to wait for 10 mins for someone to ask us for our order.<br/>Third chance, never again Raviz!!
Happy
Really bad service. There was no service on our table for almost 40 minutes. I had been there on a couple of occasions with my mates and the food had been average, but given the fact that this was a choice available after 11pm, i never took it otherwise. They really spoilt my evening tonight. When me and my partner started leaving, none of the waiting staff bothered to ask us why we were leaving, it felt as if they were happy to see us leave.

I dined at this restaurant a couple of times last year. The service at this place is excellent, and the atmosphere is fabulous. The food is quite nice too, and the naans are delicious. Not the most affordable place, but it's certainly worth the money that you pay. I would happily recommend this restaurant.
Caffeinated Weka
We enjoyed the food so much at Raviz that we went back again a few days later. We highly recommend the chicken handi and googly masala (with both chicken and lamb) - the meals came with a satisfactory bite yet the sauces were flavoursome. Even on a busy night, our service was courteous and efficient with very little waiting time. The restaurant environment is very pleasant. We'd happily dine at Raviz again next time we are in Auckland.
Dominic
A fantastic experience every time that I go along to Raviz, this has to be the best Indian in Auckland!
Wikitoria
The food here is really good, I was so surprised. My husband &amp; I normally dine in the Ponsonby/Herne Bay areas. The service in these suburbs is exceptional.<br/> The service at Raviz however is very slow.<br/>They also need to pay attention to detail such as removing the paper tablecloth especially when it needs to be changed before dining for the next course.<br/> However with major improvement to service &amp; fine detail, this indian restaurant in the heart of Auckland City is a true 'Winner'.<br/> The food is truly authenticate &amp; was made on that 1st night I dined 'bloody hot', just how I wanted it too be.<br/><br/>All the best Raviz, see you soon...
Steve
OK, the service is slow, but the food is magnificent. I asked for a very hot vindaloo, and thats exactly what I received. The tandoori was absolutely beautiful.<br/><br/>Food rates as excellent, but the service lets it down

Wondeful ambience. Delicious food. Equally fun for friends and family. A bit delay in service. But worth the wait. Neat and tidy. Affordable prices.

Been here a lot of times as it's very close to my place.....lots of option to select from but most of em seem to be same in taste...different quality( lower) the alongside rice provided with the mains instead of the earlier plain biryani rice. The chicken biryani has lost its aura here.need to get some changes in it for sure.mutton biryani is a sure shot best option to have here!!!!

One of the most sought after and popular Indian restaurant in Auckland. Raviz is most popular among the student market here in Auckland, preferably for their prices. But, I have seen some better Indian food options here in Auckland. The staff seems to be a mix of team members who are friendly at times, but can tend to be rude if it gets really busy. The ambiance gives you an Indian persona, but it still feels a bit too clumsy and packed. <br/><br/>The food is average, nothing too special about it, and so is the presentation, pretty decent. The place is more like you get what you pay for. It's more of a basic dining experience where you pay for food only. If you are expecting more, I am sorry but you will be quite a bit disappointed. I went there once or twice but I would prefer somewhere else, even if it calls for spending a few bucks more. After all, eating out is not for food only, it's about spending time over a table with your friends.<br/><br/>So, probably an average eating point for me. Happy eating!!
