Very beautiful resturant, food was delicious and portion size was great... except... the portion of meat (I ordered duck) was basically nothing.. and the rest of it was vegetables. Still delicious, only they loose 1 star because there was hardly any meat, the meal was mostly vegetables.

Dined in on a Friday night and the waitress was very friendly and gave us good recommendations! Ended up getting their special deep fried snapper and it did not disappoint, we also got some free fries at the start of the meal since the snapper takes longer to cook but we didn’t mind at all, would definitely come back!

We had a large family gathering at Monthien and it was the best Thai food we have ever had! Beautiful fresh vegetables and amazing flavours at affordable prices. Everyone loved their meals. We will definitely be back!

Had to come back again, food was amazing. Started with fresh prawn spring rolls followed by chicken in oyster sauce. Staff were very accommodating, always a welcoming smile at the ready.
Lovely friendly people, amazing atmosphere, neat and clean premises and best of all great food. Red Thai curry was a real find.

Ordered through Uber Eats and it was excellent. This is fantastic, fresh beautiful Thai food .. no grease and just tasty, light and delicious. Very short delivery time for a Saturday evening. Highly recommend. Note for the reviewer who said ordering online is was poor, I suggest Uber Eats.

We celebrated my daughter's birthday here last night and staff and management did everything possible to make our meal memorable. Especially accommodating the tastes of a 4 year old boy. There were 10 of us and everyone's meal was superb and I would rate it as the best Thai food ever.

Clean well presented restaurant that does have authentic Thai food. Downside not a very large eating area. Saw quite a lot of people turned away. So making a booking weekends is essential. I think that the overall standard of cooking is very good. If you enjoy Thai food I recommend you give this place a try.

Nice environment, nice bold thai flavours, lovely staff. Not five star dining, bit hits all the great taste thai flavour buttons. Had a delicious meal and a great night out. Recommend this spot. Good work! Particular shout out to the staff who were amazing.

Very Bad Experience. I read the reviews and decided to visit the restaurant. <br/><br/>Before visiting I called up around 8 PM to check till what time they they open. I was assured that they are open till 11 PM. I told the person on phone(a guy) that we will be there by 10 to 10.15 PM. He agreed and said that the restaurant will be open and we are welcome. <br/><br/>I reached there at 10.00 PM but the restaurant was closed.I called up and said that we had checked before coming and had informed that we will reach by 10 PM but nobody really cared. I knocked at the door but nobody bothered to open the door. We had to return back. The people on phone were rude. I sent an email to notify the owners about this incident but its been 2 weeks I haven't heard from the.<br/><br/>Doesn't look like the owners / staff really care for the customers and the service. Will never go back there again and wont recommend the place too.

Terribly slow take away service. Often at least an hour from ordering and can be more than half an hour waiting once arrive to pick up. Good food otherwise wouldn’t come back.

The most average Thai food I’ve had. The pad Thai was tasteless and bland. The Curry’s were good but the containers were half filled. Upset I splashed out $52 for a treat takeaway meal here.

Expected better taste for the price, though they had excellent customer service. <br/><br/>My partner and I were both quite sick after eating the same meal and while not 100% sure it was from here, it was the only thing we had eaten from the same place that day.<br/><br/>Looks great inside though.

I have been to Monthien about 5-6 times now for takeaways & to dine in,and have always had an excellent meal , good value for money, great dining area & Sam is the host with the most ! I would have no trouble reccommending it to anyone after a lovely Thai meal .

Absolute disaster took 1 hour to get 2 dishes takeaway. One dish had not 1 piece of chicken in it just veges and cashews and the lamb curry was definitely not lamb, looked more like fatty rump steak. Definitely don't try this restaurant there are so many BETTER Thai restaurants than this!!!

I have tried many dishes here and I have never been disappointed. They are all delicious!Although this restaurant is a small family owned business, the food is delicious and very reasonable. The staff are very attentive and friendlyVery clean restaurant.I have been to many Thai restaurants in Auckland and this would have to be one of the best.If you have a gold card, they will also give you a discount.I recommend this restaurant and will keep coming back.

Bad Bad Bad Bad Bad Bad Bad Bad service I ever had in dine in experience. Food was delaying by 1 hour thirty minutes late and when we start to get our food it was just entrée coming after that much long wait and when we get our mains its still not all food coming together we half of the people finished our food and half table still waiting for the mains. very highly not recommended. Don't go there if you don't want to spoil your night .

Great atmosphere and food. Will definitely go again!!! Service was also good and the restaurant was very full. Four different mains and everyone enjoyed them very much. Entrees were served very quickly which was great because we were hungry.

Probably the best thai food I've had, been there a few times, consistently very good food, service and atmosphere. Would highly recommend this restaurant to all. The satay chicken entree is very yummy, well worth a try, along with the spring rolls. As for the mains, you can't go wrong with one of Monthien's stirfrys. I had the sweet and sour, very tasty! I also like the Chicken cashew nut, also very good. I would highly recommend this restaurant, one of the best thai restaurants I have been to!
