Review Oak Eatery - Auckland Central

Rosa
Me and my grandma went here for lunch, she said she loved the food and it was so delicious. She really enjoyed their chips as well, it was her favourite. Service was amazing and staff were so friendly! Recommended for sure. Thanks guys :)

Oak Eatery is located upstairs within the Royal Oak Shopping Mall so a great place to visit before visiting the supermarket or local shops. There is a wide range of both sweet and savory foods on offer including Keto-friendly and vegetarian options. I have fallen in love with the Chocolate Peanut Butter slice which tastes divine (see photo attached). It is full of crunchy nuts, creamy peanut butter and chocolate. Delicious! The coffee is not as strong as I like so I will request a stronger brew next time. The staff are very friendly and this is somewhere local that I will happily return to again.

great coffee shop, food always really good, good quality and presentation, have a little kid play grounds and a lot space for a group of people, service always good, you must try this place, suited inse the royal oak mall at the mensinne floor, normally quite place to enjoy a good food and coffee, before of after a shopping at the mall or at the supermarket, 100% recommend

Through a number of owners & Covid fortunately the food has remained Interesting & of high standard & the service has remained very pleasant.. staffing remaining an interesting struggle for the majority of businesses.. Would recommend & especially to support local businesses..( the atmosphere is clean but simple & wifi is a problem due to being in a mall )

Such a good experience! Staff were very friendly and lovely! There was abit of wait on food but cafe was packed out which is definitely a good sign. Coffees and good were delicious we will be back. It is hidden in the mall but it is well set up with plenty of seating area. Also, not often do you have a conversation with a staff member and after the lovely chat you then find out he’s the owner! So it’s not often you ever find the owner running the whole floor during very busy rush.

Like the fact they got a play area for the kids. Ample of room for a wheel chair or baby buggy! Can use the lift or take the stairs. Ordered a fluffy for my granddaughter, it was served in an icream cone which was really nice. But the marshmallows was to big for a two year old to chew. They also do nice hot beverages!

A cozy open spot at Royal Oak. Had a delicious flat white with coffee art of a swan. Nice open top area and was relatively busy.

Been looking for a regular breakfast spot close by to where I live currently. Ordered the smashed avo on toast with added oak smoked salmon and an americano. Food was really good. Freshly prepared and in a large enough portion. Coffee was good. Staff were friendly, polite and pleasant. Will be back and will hopefully have the same experience!

Bright & airy atmosphere, spacious cafe with friendly staff. Good standard fare for cabinet food and interesting twists to the menu meals. Ordered the Creamy Mushrooms and although this was tasty I would've liked the cream to be reduced down a bit more to thicken it as it was too thin to coat the mushrooms and hadn't taken on the mushroom flavour. Beverages were all excellent as well as the Green Eggs Benny.

Very comfy dining environment! Friendly boss and staffs. Excellent food quality and TOP customer service! One of hidden gem in Royal Oak. Highly recommend!

Great atmosphere, super good tumeric latte. If it doesn't leave your tongue and teeth looking yellow, is it even a tumeric latte? I forgot what I had but it was good. They've beautiful cabinet food too. Food didn't take long but there weren't a lot of people at the time we went. Would definitely recommend.

A small gem in the Mall. Second floor, good atmosphere with small play area for little one. Enjoyable dishes and coffee. Not much to choose from the cabinet.

Compared to what this place was before this has exceeded my expectations. The setting was a lot more welcoming, a lot more relaxed. Food and coffee wasn't exceptional but is more than enough in a mall that is considered relatively small and quiet. And it's a really easily accessed place so no pressure in terms of getting carpark and such. Just down side being no table service so all orders have to be made over the counter, but not too fussed about that...

Nice ambiance and tasty food. Quantity is a bit small, price is on the pricier side. Their spinach hollandaise sauce on the poached eggs was very good, not too sweet and subtle spinach flavour, goes very well with the eggs. Probably shouldn't use the glass jar to hold the aioli for the chips, the short chips can't reach the bottom to dip. Overall, decent place.

A great cafe tucked in central Royal Oak. I have been here a few times and they always serve up delicious food and good coffee. Highly recommended if you are around One Tree Hill or Onehunga. If you are keen to try something different, have a go at their Charcoal latte - Velvety, vanilla-ry, yum! Also tried their roasted cauliflower with spiced chicken peas and lentils recently - moorish, healthy, plant-based goodness!

Another urban list recommendation which made it an excellent experience for a Saturday brunch. Uniquely located on the mezzanine floor of the royal oak mall. The Coffee is good and so is the nutella chocolate doughnut (according to our 3 & 6 year olds) but the main feature is the beautifully presented tasty cooked meals. We ordered the lamb loin dish and the aniseed chicken both absolutely delicious. They have a corner playground area for the littlies ideal for families. Worth another visit

Great service and really good food. Amazing coffee (best coffee ever) and lovely staff. The presentation is beautiful and delicious ! We will be back!

Got there around 1pm on sunday, sit down and ordered lunch, took about 45mins to be ready even though not crazy busy. Was not impressed by the portion of the karaage salad, burger was decent portion but good taste. No apologies for the delay in serving the meal. Bad first time impression about this place. My opinion Good: -nice place to take babies to keep em busy in the playground -decent service and hospitable although staff need to be more initiative -good taste but no wow factor Bad: -small portions for the high price, quality would be debatable -long wait, no apologies.....could be just situational Personal opinion: Our bad first impression, although we heard some recommendations from friends, we wouldn't go back, especially if you are hungry or have to follow a schedule. But if u re having a lazy Sunday with no plans this would work.

A fantastic find and not what you would expect to find in a shopping mall. However, the Oak Eatery, which is situated upstairs in the Royal Oak shopping mall, accessible by stairs, escalators and a lift is one I would highly recommend. After popping in for the odd takeaway coffee from time to time, I am now a regular and would highly recommend this eatery. The food is delicious and the cabinet selection revivals some of the best, especially the cakes! For the sweet tooth's out there, the Boston cream doughnuts are a must; one of the best I have ever had (and I have had a lot!). There is a nice and wide ranging selection on the menu, and there is a table service too. The staff are very friendly and will go above and beyond to ensure you have everything you need. Definitely 5 stars from me and I look forward to many more yummy cakes and coffees here.

I've eaten breakfast here. Excellent food that was beautifully put together and tasted wonderful. AND BTW fantastic friendly service. Almost on a par with the food at Blue Rose cafe in Sandringham - Can I say that? Ha ha loved it here. I've recommended this Eatery because food looks and tastes Yum Yummy, shame that it's in this Mall. They need to get their own premises. That is my two cents worth.

This is the best place to eat in Auckland for sure: absolutely amazing food, spacious premises, a room for meetings, and elegant young staff will leave an unforgettable impression. Strongly recommended for anyone who likes eating :)
Janine Hale
Eaten here several times. A great menu. Food always really fresh with great presentation. Coffee great too. Shout out too to the staff who are always welcoming and friendly. In summary Great cafe, staff, food and coffee.

Had lunch here with a group of friends yesterday, in this fabulous new eatery...clever innovative menu...meals all delicious and beautifully cooked and presented. Attentive wait staff, and a lovely open roomy environment. Eatery even has a childrens' play area...perfect for families. Plenty of parking in the area. I will be back and will recommend to all my friends. Well done Oak Eatery !

I like everything about Oak Eatery, delicious & well presented food, friendly staff, an enclosed play area and gorgeous decor but it's the little details that makes this place standout!
Elizabeth Andrew
Lovely place, considerate service, amazing food. Love the fsct it caters for the young with a play area and the busy with a free meeting room.

Sat at a dirty table, which was cleared but not wiped. Had to then get our own menu. Took half hour just to ask what we’d like to order then had to wait over half hour just to receive food. Food was average however marketed well - won’t go here again
Monique Facon
Super delicious food, had the Chipotle Eggs Benedict with Moroccan Veges and Vegan Zucchinni loaf and man they were so good, really exciting cafe find. Would highly recommend.
James Ray
Fantastic food, great staff, great feel to the place - definitely will be back! Heaps of allergy friendly food too!
Rowena Ishak
The chicken brioche sandwich & raw raspberry coconut slice is good..it was a tea time splurge but I enjoyed it. Can't make it a habit unfortunately :( The staff members are also friendly and nice..
Shannon Inu
Absolutely amazing! Not only was the food delicious, but the staff were friendly & very inviting. We had Jason, he was a delight to deal with. Highly recommended.

Jason is the best... I would highly recommend the food is tino pai

Very impressive. Best and unique breakfast ! Highly recommend!

Lovely environment, children friendly, friendly staff, lovely food and even have a playground where parents can sit down to have a coffee while the children are playing!

I had lunch here and was impressed overall. I was welcomed on the way in and acknowledged on the way out. I noticed staff took orders from the counter and from tables. They were polite, professional and attentive to everyone. The person at the counter was cheerful and full of character - just the kind of person to brighten your day. The food was fresh, well presented, quick to the table and there was a variety of items to suit whatever craving you had at that particular moment. They also have a children's corner in which no shoes are allowed inside - icing on the cake. Highly recommended.

Outstanding café. Intelligent menu, creative and well-presented superb food. Coffee excellent. Best reason to go to Royal Oak mall.
Rajvir Uppal
Stopped by for snacks and coffee. I must say that their coffee is really great. Would love to come back.

Was packed on a Saturday noon but service was pretty decent. Ordered a big breakfast and a maple pear porridge. Flavors were all on point, just a small downer that the poached eggs were slightly overcooked with no gooey yolk. Will definitely consider going back!
Rhea
Great insta-worthy cafe. The staffs are friendly. The menu is quite interesting, it a combination of Western and Asian flavours. I love their latte art. I like this place perfect for lazy Sunday brunch.
Pita Polima
We tried the breakfast from here today and ordered the pancakes, the eggs benedict & the big breakfast which were delicious, the only downside was pancakes were small about the same sz as a lid for a jam jar but other than that staff were friendly and it was a nice and open area for dining.
Nikki
friendly efficient service great coffee very lovely presented food and very tasty a must try for all.
JP
Good food and good service! We were pleased with their brunch options. Their flat white is good as well<br/>
Ariel
Staffs are nice and friendly, and it’s a kids friendly place. A good place to bring your little ones here.

The cafe is located on the mezzanine floor of the Royal Oak shopping mall. You can take the elevator to the right floor or just head into the mall and look for the stairs and escalators up. It is close to the main entrance.<br/>The staff are quite friendly and there is quite a large and open dining area, which seems very spacious. They also have a playground at the end.<br/>The menu is quite interesting, a combination of standard cafe food with some Asian flavours mixed in. I had the bulgogi burger with an iced chocolate. The ice chocolate had a nice chocolate flavour. The burger was also tasty. I quite liked the flavours with the sweet patty and slightly vinegary and spicy kimchi underneath. The bun did fall apart near the end though. The hot drinks had interesting designs in the foam.<br/>We were sitting on the side and there was a planter there. It was nice they were growing thing but it did mean there were insects on the table for most of the meal.<br/>I quite liked the cafe with tasty food and friendly servers.<br/>

Went out eith friends, first time to try this cafè, everything was so so good. Staff are friendly too.

The team here are positive and friendly... They make great food and are a child friendly eatery.

After hearing great reviews, I finally went to this hidden gem in the top floor of the royal oak mall. The setting of this cafe provided a lot of space and natural light which was very comfortable (a lot of cafes have tables packed way too closely). There is even a children playing area.<br/>Staff were very friendly with lots of smiles. Food came relatively quickly.<br/>We ordered 2 coffees, the salmon hash, and the popcorn chicken. Coffees were well brewed and deep in flavour. The coffee art was quite good too.<br/>The salmon hash included 2 perfectly poached eggs over a bed of potato mash with pieces of cooked salmon, wrapped in 2 slices of smoky salmon, and topped with a creamy hollandaise sauce with pickles. It was a good portion size for 1. The popcorn chicken was very succulent and tender, the thin coating of batter was crunchy, and the sauce they tossed it with was sweet and tangy. The chicken lay on a bed of well fried chips which were seasoned with chilli powder. The house made aioli accompanied the chicken and chips very well.<br/>I would definitely come back and try out their other options!
Alberto
Always great to see the friendly staff. Service with natural smiles. Food is good, spacious and relatively quiet environment. Our favorite place for lunch.
Yan Zhou
This place has your normal breakfasts with an asian twist. I've been here many times and keep wanting to come back! Great presentation and friendly staff.
Celani Atienza
Had brunch here in a span of 6 days :) <br/>First was with my husband and second with my girls. Food was yummy and presentation was A+ ! <br/>The serving of each meal was good for sharing, which makes the price to be just right. <br/>I’ve always wanted to try this for more than a year now... glad they’re part of zomato gold and was able to use it here :) super worth it.. as you can see from my IG worthy photos 💟
Mr Practical
Visited this place on (07/Jan), both the food and customer service was great, will be keen to come back at sometime.

Second time visiting now, food quality was just as good as I remembered! The Oak Eatery is way better than I’d expected, being a mall cafe. Food presentation is nice, premises are lovely, spacious and clean. <br/><br/>Staff are friendly and professional. Our food didn’t take long at all to come out. <br/><br/>Pretty worth with the Zomato discount. Otherwise, the portions are relatively small if you’re paying full price. Can’t complain about the quality though! <br/><br/>Definitely pay this cafe a visit if you’re in the area.

Wonderful fresh and filling smashed avo on toast! The service was lovely and friendly, and the space was airy and spacious - great for brunch. Will definitely be coming back!
Emma
Lovely bright and airy space in Royal Oak Mall. Service was friendly and food came out quickly, the smashed avo, eggs Benedict’s with halloumi and the salmon rosti were all delicious and the pesto hollandaise sauce was to die for. Will definitely be coming back soon.
Amy
Enjoyed having a good time. Not too busy and noisy which I loved so much.

Great coffee, Food and friendly service 5+

You must order a drink when you come to Oaks Eatery! I ordered a beetroot latte and it was beautifully presented with a butterfly design. My sister ordered the iced chocolate and it was delicious too. The smashed avo and pork belly dishes are average and I would not order them again. The pork belly sauce was too strong and overpowered the other elements on the dish. Next time, I'll be back for a drink and a slice of cake!
Vincent Tong
This place is great for its value especially if you have zomato gold, food here is absolutely amazing. Probably would have given this 5/5 if they didn't change their coconut pancakes to waffles. Other than that would get 5/5 from me
Sione Latu
Really tight on the the scramble eggs with the big breakfast

Nice coffee, good quality of food with beautiful present

Food 5/5<br/>Coffee 5/5<br/>Service 5/5<br/>Location 4/5 <br/><br/>The food was yammy, the flat white was well-made with a pretty art. Just wish it wasn't in the mall. This kind of place would work well with an outdoor area. We really enjoyed otherwise :)

40mins wait, food are not delicious and unfriendly staff, definitely will not come back again.

I found it in the zomato. The staff were friendly and nice👍🏻. Also the food was delicious, but it took approximately an hour for the food to come out.

Oak Eatery is a hidden jewellery in the mall! Raw Black Forest and raw coconut raspberry were amazing! Must try!!! Great textures, fresh taste, not too sweet as well, love it! And The Green Egg Benedict was the best Benedict I have ever had! Love the grilled veggies on it! Beautiful flavours! Creamy mushrooms will not disappoint you as well. Friendly service. Loved everything!
Cushla Foley
Super friendly, loved the food- but if I had of paid full price I would have been disappointed with my one piece of toast for my eggs Benedict. I love their area up stairs and they are kids-friendly with an enclosed play area.
Lucy
Food was tasty and hot, chips were nice and crispy and had a nice seasoning on them. Deal was good considering we had zomato gold, but I didn’t think this was anything particularly special for the price of each dish. Neighbouring tables look like they had some amazing food I.e smashed avo and eggs bene looked good. Was also quite noisy here, busker on the ground floor in addition to the cafe music, chit chat and mall-goers.
Liam Donovan
Food is so good, nice service too
W
food taste and service are just average. Burger was too sweet and bacon in my plate was dry. Not sure why it’s scored so high with Zomato and recommended in the “best of Auckland”. Can’t find any reason for us to return.
Jessica
Long waiting time. And the food is below average. Can not understand the high rates on zomato. Very disappointed by the food. Maybe the food I chose was not right? Not a spot I will come back to try again.
Bhavisha Kumar
Surprised to find such a clean, friendly place that serves amazing food inside mall! Highly recommended!

Service was really friendly. Great for kids too as they had a kids area and plenty of space between tables.<br/><br/>Had the pork belly. Taste was good but the meat was a bit dry (seemed like it was overcooked). Had no complaints about the salmon.
Ferris Wheel
Look at the 1st picture of the burger and pick the odd one out. We werent too sure whether that was how their burger meant to look like but turned out the new chef had forgotten about half of the bun. One of the guy used his bare hand to pick up the bun from kitchen front and placed it in a bowl. We hope his hand was clean and hope for the best. This was the first time we visited and probably the last even with Zomato Gold. With price similiar to a cafe in Remuera/Newmarket but lack of the food quality and customer satisfaction.
Graciel Mendoza
Enjoyed our breakfast here especially the feijoa jam that went with the pancakes. The kids play area was a nice touch too.

A prolonged months visit but can finally say I’ve visited. Walked in and what a lovely and relaxed place to be. Very welcoming and calm place to be. Would even consider coming alone 🤫 anyone else love food the taste equally as it looks? the food was spectacular and visually beautiful to look at, so well done to the chefs. Overall highlight goes out to the service. Very attentive and so SO lovely !!! A highly recommended place that lives up to the 5 star reviews 😍 <br/><br/>Coffee • 10/10<br/>Food • 10/10 <br/>Service • 10/10 <br/>Atmosphere • 10/10

Had been here for twice. Very good cafe near one tree hill
Little Borneo Girl
Would have given this Cafe six stars if only that is available. The food was not only nicely presented but were amazingly delicious too. We loved everything we ordered. Prices were a bit steep but definitely worth every penny. The coffee design were creatively done. This Cafe is indeed a class above. Highly recommended.

This cafe is in a nice setting on the mezzanine of Royal Oak Mall (so easy parking too), light-filled and with an attractive fitout. The menu looks attractive too, but we were disappointed by the food. We all had the chilli chicken tacos - this sounded like light dish, with chicken, asian slaw, grilled kimchi and wasabi mayo. Instead it was very sweet and fatty. The paratha taking the the place of the taco was a great idea in theory, but it was completely soaked in fat from being fried. The chicken had the skin left on, making the dish even fattier, and the sauce was heavy and sweet. The small amount of slaw was drowned in mayo and neither the wasabi nor the kimchi were evident. If you like this style of food, it would be fine, though - it just isn't my jam. The chips were good. The iced lattes were weak and although we asked for for trim milk they was full fat. Would I eat that dish again? No. Would I return to try something else? Sure.
LisaH
I was so disappointed. I went there because of the rating on Zomato and it ended up tasteless food. The ginger tofu was so bland and insipid. I tried to bring the flavour by tipping into white sauce but there was still no taste. The vegetable has no taste, Did the cook forget to put salt and other stuff? I cannot believe it. My husband has ordered the pork but he also said it is so ordinary. We don’t understand where the 4.8 rating is from to be honest.
Agatha
Visited using zomato gold. Selection of food was good. Seafood bisque was flavoursome. Will definitely visit again to try the rest of the menu
Angela Gray
The food presentation was great, and the meals we had were delicious. The café itself has a Scandinavian feel but it is inside a mall. Staff were okay, friendly and food came out fast!
Tara Moore
Food came out really quickly and the presentation was immaculate. The menu was an interesting Asian twist on the breakfast classics. My green eggs bene with halloumi felt wholesome, with perfectly cooked veges. Coffee was good<br/>

Wonderful cafe in a strange location in the very tired Royal Oak shopping mall. Staff are very friendly. Food quality and presentation is top notch. We've been nearly 10 times this year, usually to get their chilli chicken taco which is one of the best dishes in Auckland. The coconut pancakes are also a real winner if you like sweet meals. Cabinet food is beautifully presented. The coffee is pretty good, a bit variable from ok to great. The smoothies are overpriced but tasty. There is a kids play area which is a real selling point also and abundant high chairs (enough for all except the busiest weekends). Highly recommended.
Ricky Bhat
Great place and great service food is great and I do reccomend to try their chicken you will not be disappointed at all. inside royal oak mall

I came to this resturaunt after the cherry blossom trip at one tree hill and a zomato card. I was happy when I entered this resturaunt but left in despair. After my parents are seated i went to order food for them. I ordered four dishes and the staff interrupted me and asked me whether i like poached eggs or scrambled ones. That is why she thought I only ordered three. I used zomato card and paid the bill. After i came back i realised the bill is too low. So i returned and asked me how many dishes sheorder for me. She said three. I told her four and found she missed one 24 dollar dish which is one of the most expensive two dishes. The third expensive dish is only 17 dollar. So if i order one more i have to pay 7 dollars more than i should. I still want to solve it by asking her to include the fourth dish. She said she cant. I do not feel comfortable now. I tell her i can pay 24 dollar but can she give us one free coffee to make it up. She told me this in such a rude way " you wanted to order four but you did not. I double checked with you and you said yes." i understand u may have missed one dish because u r not professional enough. But how can u say this in such a tone like you are absolutely correct? I know how many people i brought here. But you did not know how many people were sitting on the table and u did not ask. I ordered one dish for the kid how can i not order for one adult. Ur tone of accusing ur customer is not a brilliant way to handle this situation. That how i leave this resturaunt with nothing in my stomach. I eefuser to order from such a unfriendly staff. I not only wanted order four! I actually ordered four! It is u who missed one! You r welcome to check the CCTV! If you wait for me to finish what i said and then ask me ur question you wouldnt have missed that!
Tom
Great place great food and very friendly and efficient service here. Lots of interesting dishes here

I ordered the tofu with ginger and miso dressing. It looked lovely and tasted pretty good. The tofu was really nice but everything else lacked a bit of flavour. Seemed like a lot of things on the plate to compensate for that. <br/>I also had a ginger latte which was spot on! Give this place a 3.5

Enjoy led the afternoon tea with my family after we visited one tree hill for the picnic. Their cakes know how to serve up top quality. Great selections of dessert. I never expect the cafe in the shopping mall (no offence) But this cafe is no wonder they get a high rate at Zomato. My coffee was not hot enough. But I will be back soon even I have no reason to come to this area. This cafe will be the reason!
The Sweet Tooth Fairy
Oak Eatery is another wonderful hidden gem that truly shines. The cafe offers a ton of variety ranging from a cabinent full of special sweet and savouries, and also a full brunch menu of fusion dishes with an extensive selection of coffee and other beverages.<br/><br/>Oak Eatery is another one of my go-tos for Matcha Latte. The powder and milk is mixed evenly. The drink arrives nice and hot and is lightly sweetened. It's light and smooth and is very comforting upon first sip. It's really a great alternative for those wanting to steer away from coffee and try something new.<br/><br/>The cakes in the cabinent is always something to look forward to! They are as delicious as they look.<br/><br/>The Strawberry Yoghurt Cake I'd say is their most special cake of the cafe. Between layers of light sponge cake is a spread of lightly whipped yoghurt cream with peach (or maybe pineapple) pieces inside. The cake on top is lightly dusted with a generous amount of freeze dried strawberry powder.<br/><br/>The Tiramisu here is also slightly different. The mascarpone is stable but doesn't leave a feeling of a mouthful of heavy cream and inbetween is layers of lady finger biscuits lightly soaked in mild espresso so you end up with a mouthful of soggy bitterness. The Oreo base underneath added great texture for it's crunch and I could also taste slight saltiness from the butter which enhanced the overall taste!<br/><br/>The cafe is very spacious even though sometimes on arrival it may look like a table isn't available but rest assured you will definitely be looked after by one of the many friendly and kind staff there.<br/>The environment is very clean, warm and bright and even has a decent children play area so parents can enjoy every bite of their great food!

A friendly place to go on the weekend. It is a hidden treasure. Kids love here

A kids friendly cafe on the third floor of royal oak mall. Have a big clean kids space include slide and do many kinds of toys. Moms' favorite cafe. Owner is korean so ni wonder all the food are beautiful and also taste good.

Taste - 4.7/5<br/>Service - 4/5<br/>Ambience - 4/5<br/><br/>I was super surprised how there is a beautiful cafe in a worn down "mall"<br/><br/>Look at these 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗮 𝗹𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲, 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗼𝗮𝗹 𝗹𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲, 𝗺𝗼𝗰𝗵𝗮 art! I had the charcoal latte and it was very vanilla-ry!<br/><br/>My favourite dish was this 𝗰𝗮𝘂𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝘄/ 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵! Supppper aromatic with that green curry.<br/>𝗚𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗺𝗶 𝗯𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗹 𝘄/ 𝘀𝗺𝗼𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗺𝗼𝗻 same old same old. I didnt expect the beef to be a pattie for that 𝗯𝘂𝗹𝗴𝗼𝗴𝗶 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗳 𝗯𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗿 surprised me. If you are contemplating whether you want to order sweet or savoury this burger is the way to go as the pattie is sweet hence bulgogi style.<br/><br/>And BOOM! The 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘄𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗿𝘆 𝘆𝗼𝗴𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗸𝗲 was very light! The cake is like a dense cake soaked in syrup? Layered in that light yoghurt cream!

Been here twice! Once for a meal and once just for the tempting cabinet food! Got the chicken taco which was nice - very different flavours but overall very filling and tasty - maybe not for people who want something a bit less unexpected with flavours. The cabinet food and coffee looks incredible and tastes it too - nice place to stop before or after a grocery shop at pak n save 😊

Hidden gem in royal oak mall! Super busy but attentive staff, had lots of variety on the menu and also in the cabinet. The food itself was delicious and the portions were BIG. <br/>Would definitely go back!

We have ordered Coconut Waffles and Avacado Toast. Both were amazing. <br/>Staff Friendly- 9/10<br/>Taste- 9.5/10<br/>Recommended- 9/10.

The food presentation looked nice but pork belly dint have the crackling in my cauliflower and chickpea dish and the mushrooms were very undercooked in creamy mushrooms and it was very watery and not at all creamy. Not at all enjoyable unfortunately.

A absolute gem! Accomodating, fast and friendly service with beautiful food. Love it! 😍

Can never have enough of this place! Oak Eatery is one of my go to's for brunch 😍 I try to get something different each time but I always end up with my absolute favourite - popcorn chicken 😋 I can literally eat that for the rest of my life. Their fries are crispy and well seasoned topped with a generous amount of Korean fried chicken with this delicious sweet sauce & served with aioli. Their smoked salmon hash Benedict was really delicious as well! The base consists of two little hash cakes which is like a mashed potato with strips of smoked salmon wrapped around it and two poached eggs on the top 🤤 it's surprisingly filling and when you split the egg and let the yolk run into the hash cake, it tastes absolutely delicious! It's a super cute cafe with a really nice interior 😍

Just came here for a nice family birthday brunch. This cafe is honestly packed and I totally understand why. Good service, friendly staff, great ambience too plenty of sunlight coming through even though its inside the mall, food came out on time and actually tasted good. Kudos to the staff at Oak eatery they do a great job. We ordered the chilli chicken tacos, beef burger, big breakfast and the creamy mushrooms. Only issue was that the portion size for the creamy mushroom was way too small than what it's worth. But it tasted great!<br/>Heads up this place gets really packed so dont be surprise if you dont even get a table.

It was a lovely place to have lunch. It had children playground section for children to hang around while I have chit chatting time with friends. Food is yum!

Its a really nice and cozy place to go out with your family and friends. Nice ambiance, friendly staff and great service, all these things along with great food. What else you need. Had Oak Big Breakfast, Moroccan Chicken Salad, Golden Cauliflower with Chicken and Omelette, everything was great specially the Moroccan Salad. Look and feel of the place is really nice.<br/><br/>Food - 5/5<br/><br/>Ambiance - 5/5<br/><br/>Staff - 5/5

Cute little cafe located upstairs of the Royal Oak Mall. We got lost at first but found it once we saw the signs by the foodcourt. Such a beautiful cafe! The menu had a wide selection of nice brunch meals. We ordered the Big Breakfast and Mediterranean Salad. Loved every bite of that salad. Full of flavour. The ginger tea was so delicious! The dessert selection looked so fun and vibrant! Would love to come back to just have afternoon tea. Service was 10/10 we got a seat and got our meals within 15 minutes. Everyone was so friendly. and welcoming.

It’s a great place for brunch. Friendly service and quick turnover.

I had Chicken Taco and Green Egg Benedict.<br/>I was very disappointed with foods..<br/>Taco had strong alcohol flavour.<br/>Egg bene was okay.<br/>Mocha coffee wasn't hot, it was warm.<br/><br/>

Back here again (several times now) and they are still amazing. The service was great, always so friendly. We ordered the Bulgogi Burger, Coconut Pancakes, Berry Smoothie and a Sweet Chai. Not much of a sweet tooth but the pancakes were fluffy and the fruits were a perfect match, especially the melon. Spring/summer fruits would probably be even nicer (mmm strawberries 😋). The burger patty had the juices oozing out and it was flavoursome. As always, the fries were soft and had that crunch! The smoothie was a bit sour but it was still enjoyable. The sweet chai was frothy and so good! 10/10 definitely coming back 👍😊

Pretty interior and theme 💓 Staffs are v attentive and friendly! Ordered egg Benedict’s and their pork dish and both are really good and tasty!

Popular cafe located in Royal Oak Mall, has one of the highest rating in Zomato Gold restaurants, so I thought better to have a try. The cafe offers an Asian fusion menu, also has a good selection of cabinet food. We ordered coconut pancakes with bacon, seafood bisque, and popcorn chicken. Food were served within 15 minutes, despite the place was full and really busy, nice presentation and well prepared. The coffee and the fruit smoothie were really yummy too. Really good value with Zomato Gold, highly recommended.

I found this shop through zomato gold and I would like to go more times. The service was very good and the location of the shop is also very good. Delicious food and nice stuff.<br/><br/>

Busy on a Saturday but no wait for a table and food came out pretty fast. Interesting Asian inspired menu, rather than your standard cafe food. I had the green eggs Benedict with halloumi, one of best eggs benedict I have had, good portion size with lots of sautéed veges too. Such a good deal on Zomato gold. It’s obvious they put a lot of thought into their dishes, so much colour and variety. Great to have lots of vegetarian options to choose from. This place is very kid friendly, even has a play pen full of toys and books for the little ones. Downsides for me was not being able to switch an item out of the big breakfast, coffee tasted bitter and the toilets being a bit of mission to get to (on another level of the mall).

Awesome, nice staff and
Kristen
Service was really good and the food came out quickly. There were 4 of us and we got 3 different dishes. The pancakes and the beef burger were really good, but I found that the potato in the salmon bene was quite cold, it had a funny texture like it had been cooked the day before and reheated
Cookingkenny
It sounds like we weren’t alone. We got a seat and waited 40minutes for some popcorn chicken. So yes it was busy, but when something was orders early so the kids could eat and takes 40minutes to get out of a frier what’s going on?<br/><br/>Now you could say it’s busy but how can you make a restaurant that can’t actually service its tables in a timely fashion? Is it greedy making too many seats for the kitchen capacity. At least one other couple Left just waiting for a seat. <br/><br/>When my bisque finally turned up that was ordered gluten free, which required a second waiter to understand despite the menus stating everything could be made gluten free (ps the burger can’t as the beef patty has breast crumbs in it), it came with bread and battered prawns!!!! After 50 minutes. <br/><br/>The staff were nice, though not knowledgeable about the menu and one woman was very apologetic, until the barista literally dragged her away from us.
Squiddy
A lovely light and airy space upstairs at Royal Oak Mall. Really friendly staff who greeted and seated us straight away. Very prompt service when we checked if we could be out of there in 50 minutes.<br/><br/>I enjoyed my Salmon Hash Benedict and my friend loved her Ginger Tofu. The dishes were beautifully presented. I had an iced matcha which had just the right amount of sweetness and ice cubes.<br/><br/>I'll definitely be back.

Very nice place, friendly staff and delicious food. The service was very fast and me and my wife have had a great experience. Definitely recommend!

Oak Eatery is a gem in the Royal Oak Mall. We were seated promptly even during their busy period. The food was amazing! Super full of flavours. The price was quite affordable. The service was great, and the flowers were a nice touch. This is a super family friendly place. Would definitely come again and try more of the menu. Could not rate this place enough!

I went there for lunch yesterday,we ordered chicken taco and beef burger. I enjoyed my beef burger but didn't quite likes the egg sauce for the chips, being an old fashioned I prefer ketchup for dipping. My friend found the chicken taco is? a bit too strong taste. The place is nicely presented and great to have a kids corner with toys to allow parents have a relaxed coffee and lunch. The staff are friendly. I will like to try the blueberry cheesecake for my next visit.
Stephy_NakiGirl
There’s not much in the way of shops at Royal Oak compared to the bigger malls, but then that’s part of its charm.<br/>Oak Eatery is on one of the upper floors with a view down to the ground floor. It can get busy but there is a decent amount of seating & a kids area. <br/>Service is friendly & efficient. Coffee well made.<br/>I ordered the pancakes which were nice & light. The fruit combo was a nice addition. The candy floss was a bit OTT but there was only a little & it you don’t want it super sweet you can pop that to the side.<br/>Their menu has lots of great options so they’re well worth a visit.
Alice In New Zealand
It was awesome:) i had creamy mushroom, egg benedict, bulgogi burger and flat white. Burger was great with kimchi. Coffee was soft:) I love the decoration of this cafe so much. Love to come back.

Awesome brunching experience. Always packed during the weekend, with zomato gold this place is great, service is awesome and friendly. I had their ginger tofu vegan dish and it was surprisingly good and my partner had their beef burger. Super yum too.

Food was ok. It was a busy Saturday lunch period, so we did waite a while before coffee and food came. Got the Mocha and it was nice and strong.

Wanted to try this place because of the high rating on zomato. When we arrived the place was full & 2 groups of people were in front of us already waiting. When we were next to be seated, we werent acknowledged by the staff so we just stood there for 5-10mins! By this time more people had arrived& were waiting to be seated behind us.<br/><br/>While we were waiting we saw a couple of people going up to the counter & ordered coffee & then took their order number and sat on empty tables that i thought would/should have gone to the waiting dining customers?! We got fed up with being ignored so we left.<br/>Wish they had a better waiting system going. I understand you were busy, but at least greet your waiting customers &give them an approx waiting time. Not sure if we’ll go back to try the food.
Ahmad Mustafa
Didn't know this was place existed but glad we found it. Chicken salad and eggs benedict were both delicious and coffee was great although best to have it double shot as it was on the lighter side 5/5

The food is very delicious ~Nice coffee and hot chocolate . This is first time to try, but I will recommend friends come here and try the food~very nice. Good service 👍👍👍

Lovely place! Perfect for brunch with your girlfriends or partner. Always yummy food. Been here a lot of times. Love their presentation skill also the ice tea. Must must visit!!

Went on a Saturday morning, really busy but really friendly staff.<br/>5 star for the creamy mushroom and 4 stars for the Green Egg Benedict-bread being a bit over toasted.<br/>Will go back again - great deal with Zomato Gold
Tim Chung
Nice decor and kid friendly cafe with good service. Food took a while to come out but to be fair they were pretty busy. Flat white was served in too large of a cup for a regular size, and the chicken in the salad was slightly undercooked. Overall, it was a nice place and based on other reviews perhaps we were just unlucky.
Jenny Cao
Good location, staff is super friendly. <br/><br/>The big breakfast definitely stands up to its name, with a good balance of flavours. And basically the point of having this huge plate is getting to pick what you are going to eat and how you are going to eat it right? (pickled daikon was yum!). <br/><br/>Seafood Bisque is Asian-flavours inspired, being similar to a crossover between a chowder and a laksa. The different textures of each component are really great and interesting. For me though a wedge of lemon or some acidity would do very well lifting the flavours. But overall very well rounded and delicious.<br/><br/>Such a good find especially w/ Zomato Gold!

Excellent fast friendly service !! Love the ambience and vibe, big spacious cafe. Food was delicious, Mediterranean with the salad was so refreshing. Will be back for sure !!

Great atmosphere and vibe. Best matcha latte so far in Auckland! Beautiful plating, and the soba was absolutely delicious. The pancakes were not as fluffy as we would have liked, but still great overall. Heaps of yum cabinet food too. Highly recommend! 😋
Natiella
Coffee was great, food was very enjoyable and fresh. My partner originally got the Salmon Hash but didn’t read the menu properly and got two poached eggs on each hash which he’s not the biggest fan of. I got the Cajun Chicken salad which I ended up swapping with my partner. I enjoyed the food and his mistake of not ready the menu has not affected the rating we’ve given this place.
May Hung
This place served some awesome food! We ordered a mushroom medley and a green benedict. <br/>Love every Bite of the food , the toast come with the mushroom is perfectly toasted and super soft inside, there are vine tomatoes to bring some lightless to the dish. <br/>There is also a cabinet of desserts , all looks very good, we will definitely be back to try more from their menu and their cabinet! <br/>

It’s my second time been here<br/>Food served real quick and tasted so yum<br/>Staffs r sup friendly<br/>Definitely worth the price and defo come back <br/>Highly recommended

It was a busy afternoon, but the servers were still very attentive. Our orders were taken very quickly. Had to wait a little for the food, but it was understandable given the crowd. Food was great too! Really loved the chicken taco and green Benedict.

Food: 3.5/5<br/>Service: 5/5<br/>Ambience: 5/5<br/>Cost: 4/5<br/><br/>The staff were attentive and lovely as we arrived for a Tuesday lunch. The Tropical Smoothie, Ice Mocha, Big Breakfast and the infamous Coconut Pancakes was ordered. Food took an unusual wee while to arrive, despite the cafe being not too busy. When it did arrive, both dishes looked SPECTACULAR. Nailed the presentation and looked very appetizing. <br/><br/>The “Big breakfast” was delicious, scrambled eggs and mushrooms were cooked to perfection. <br/><br/>The “Coconut Pancakes” I found to be OK, overall. The seasonal fruits, cream and fairy floss were tasty and sweet. However, I found the pancakes itself to be a bit dry for my liking.Cafe had an awesome atmosphere - situated at the top level of the Royal Oak Shopping Mall and looked very open, modern and inviting.<br/><br/>The cost of food was standard for a cafe. <br/>Would deffs be back for the “Big Breakfast” and “Ice Mocha”.

Highly recommend 😆 Nice atmosphere with all the lovely decorations. Pancakes are fluffy with fresh fruits. Latté art is amazing! 2nd floor location makes the area quiet and bright.

Service was amazing!!!!!!!! Our group were not completely happy with one meal and they replaced it for free and gave us free cake! The cafe staff were super lovely!
RD Figueroa
This is our 'go to' place while waiting for our laundry to finish every Sunday morning. Staffs are all nice and I think they really now what we always order. I love the ambience of the place. Interior designes looking really light and perfect. We had big breakfast and their coconut pancakes. I enjoyed the crispness of the hashbrowns, the freshness of the tomatoes, the umami taste of mushrooms, and the sweetness and sourness of the pickles. I'm not a fan of the bratwurst (?) though. Yolk was perfectly poached - 100% amazing. I would love to get more crunchiness from the bacon. They served five gain toasts which for me is ok. Not sure if they have other option for toast which I want to try. I thought the coconut pancakes was average. The taste of coconut for me was a little bit heavy. I think this is why they serve it with fresh fruits which I really liked. I'm hoping that they could also serve a traditional pancake or waffles. They only change their menu one a year which I thought is better if at least twice a year? Or maybe have more options to choose from. But overall, I would recommend this place.

Little gem hidden in the old Royal Oak centre. Great friendly service with good food. We had the salmon Benedict, green eggs Benedict and the seafood bisque. Great flavours, nicely presented.
Giraffe
Their big breakfast is huge! Very generous portion. My partner had the seafood bisque and he enjoyed it! It was very delicate. The service was amazing and there are lots of option for vegetarian and gluten free. Great place for kids too! Will definitely come again!
Airini
Very satisfying food! Loved my vegetarian meal, loved the ambiance, staff are friendly and efficient. Definitely a place to hang out for food. Their desserts also looked amazing!
Emily
Had a really lovely lunch here with my husband. Food was fresh and delicious. I especially loved the morrocan chicken. will definitely be back again.
Austin Ibarra
Found at the top of the mall, this cafe has a bunch of interesting fusion items on its lunch menu. I tried the Bulgogi Beef Burger, which was fantastic, and the fries were greatly seasoned and well cooked.
Anna Matthew
Lovely local cafe!) Service was fast, food and drinks were nice. I would definitely come back again and recommend this place to my friends))
Florence Lai
One of my favorite cafes without a doubt! Food came fast, excellent service and aesthetically pleasing food. Will keep coming back.<br/>Photos below show raw coconut raspberry slice, shitake ponzu soba, oak big breakfast, matcha latte, cappuccino and green smoothie. Hopefully they keep the zomato gold membership going for longer. Can't wait to take my partner next time!

Oak Eatery is a hidden gem! The food is delicious and the service is excellent. The staff are friendly and attentive. We had the smoked salmon hash benedict and the coconut pancake. The coffee is great! Definitely going back very soon.
Lori Joyce
Cute little place in Royal Oak Mall, you wouldn't even know it was there! We arrived midweek for breakfast around 9.45am and we were hungry! I ordered the Creamy Mushroom and a Long Black with cream and my partner ordered the Big Breakfast with a Mocha.<br/><br/>Our food came promptly as well as our coffees. I did enjoy my meal however we both believe the portion sizing lacked for the price we paid. Sadly my Long Black was also quite sour :(<br/><br/>The customer service was lovely and their cabinet food looked great so other than my minor faults I do recommend this cafe, although it isn't the first on my list in the area.
Kevin Bui
Came on Saturday breakfast. Wonderful cafe, yummy food, friendly staffs. This cafe’s also kid friendly. Highly recommend. Would come back again.
MCP
Lovely cafe in Royal oak mall, they have some nice looking dessert in the cabinet which i have to try at some point, their beef burger was so yummy. Will definitely come back

Neat place to eat, place was tidy and parking was easy to find as it has mall parking spots. Staff were extremely friendly and the food was awesome. :)
Maria Foy
Lovely place in the Royal Oak Mall. The food was delicious and the service was pretty good. I didn’t give five stars because my plate had several chips out of it - but overall I’d visit again!
Fiona Yao
Second time to eat here. We order fried chicken salad, big breakfast, soba, avocado &egg, fried tofu and Bluberry cake. Every dish is so beautifully presented, full of flavours and taste delicious. Barista dressed up three latte with monkey, rabbit and squirrel, cute! With Zomato gold card, its so worth it. Feel free to use my Code FION4852 to get 20% discount on becoming a gold member.

One of the best cafes around, a must visit specially if you’re in the area. <br/>One of the quickest services I ever had in cafe and fresh food is just cherry on top!<br/>Highly recommended ⭐️
Theresa Tyson
My experience here in 2017 was great, great food and value for a great price, but coming back here today was a total disappointment. <br/>I ordered the Moroccan chicken salad, which was cultural appropriation on a plate. 4 small pieces of chicken with endive, a beetroot and orange salad, a sauce which was not tzatziki (written on menu), and a complete misunderstanding of Moroccan flavours. Despite the tiny portion, I was unable to finish it even though I always do. <br/>The bacon and eggs were good, just the basic you’d expect from any cafe. <br/>My friend ordered the seafood bisque which tasted like microwaved tomato soup. It came with some very bland, tasteless meat, the 2 prawns were practically dehydrated, the piece of fish looked like bread as it was so dry, and the squid tasted like rubber. As she didn’t receive a spoon either, she ordered another piece of 10 x 5cm ciabatta for $2.50 and was disappointed to see it was undercooked and doughy in the middle. <br/>Overall, it was sad to see a restaurant that was once amazing turn to this.
Margaret Chen
Food was good, good portion, great service.<br/><br/>Oak Big Breakfast<br/>would prefer to have the toast served on the side rather than underneath everything else as it becomes a little soggy.<br/><br/>but would most definitely return!
A_craving_foodie
Great service and amazing food! Had the soba noddles and tempura fry. It was super. Would be going back for it again. Also had the iced chocolate which was fantastic! Perfect sweetness.
Denny M
Wide selection of cabinet food!! Staff are friendly and provided us with good service.<br/>We had the seafood bisque and oak big breakfast. Seafood were cooked nicely, but I wasn't a fan of the sauce. <br/>Price is a bit on the expensive side.
Kate Wu
Great place, nice staff. amazing food and coffee. Has a kids play area was a plus for mums catch up. Will visit again. Love the vibe and the layout of the cafe.
Alice Wang
Very nice food. There is Kimchi in the burger. I went to there because my friend strongly recommended it and I didn’t get disappointed. Will definitely come back again
Cecelia
Been here twice, we ordered Seafood bisque and Bulgogi beef burger, the taste was amazing and worth to try. I do feel this shops’ bulgogi beef burger flavor is the best in the Auckland cafe. But, the prawn in the seafood bisque seems not black tiger prawns, it just normal prawn. The first time we waiting a long time for foods come out even its looks not busy day. Second time the service improved a lot, food come out really quick.
Logan Burgess
Really good food and cabinet food, really enjoyed the visit to Oak. <br/>Advise is that it can get very busy approaching lunch on the weekend so arrive early. To ensure you get a table as well as minimise the noise which can get quite loud on the tile floors.
Komal G
We came here for the first time on Saturday for lunch. The staff were very friendly and we got seated straight away. The food took a while to come - as they were busy that day. However, it was well worth the wait. I had the popcorn chicken with chucky fries (others had the big breakfast and the fluffy omelet). The food was so delicious and the portions were just right. I ordered one of their smoothies (cant remember the name) but it was so yummy! I would definitely be back with other friends.
Emma Zhang
Good location and easy parking. Nice layout and kids friendly. I came with my daughter we had seafood bisque and kids menu chicken popcorn. <br/><br/>As photo the dishes look nice but my sea food ingredient not fresh enough plz see last photo that prawn black head……<br/><br/>kids menu of chicken popcorn with chips with chill powder😅. I order from kids menu even not think about double check with spicy or not. There service is good and change a normal chips instead.<br/><br/><br/>

First time using Zomato Gold and this place is truly worth the wait. The food is amazing and looks like a 5 star restaurant style food. We ordered green eggs benedict, scrambled eggs on toast, omelette and hot chocolate. I loved my green eggs benedict, it came with little okras which was a nice addition. Omelette was more of a scrambled eggs with toppings, still very nice. Definitely a must visit again.

Went here on mother day and the place is so crowded, so the services was slow but lucky they were good by giving us complimentary mother day’s chocolate and drinks.. the seafood soup taste very yummy and the chicken popcorn yummy as well..
Vicky Gao
Very nice and helpful staffs around, such delicious food and coffee.. highly recommend peach ice tea with wild goji berry. Love it. Highly recommend!
Natasha Watson
Such a high standard delivered here for both food and service. I got the green eggs benedict and it was very tasty, this place has a way of serving traditional dishes with fusion flavours and it works really well. I also got a matcha latte and this was perfectly balanced! The strawberry yoghurt cake is a must try and generous portion. Definitely my new local.
Abi Mitchell
Beautiful food and great service. Salmon Benedict is my favourite so far - I love how there is salmon in the hash cakes as well. have been here twice now and would come again and again.
Breadzania
We loved the atmosphere and food here. The food is very different from usual cafe food.. It is delicious and everything is well cooked. Love the kids play area too
Demi Pan
Lovely open space. Love to take my baby go for a brunch on the weekend, we enjoy the food and my baby has fun in the nice play area. Food comes in super beautiful presentation and surprisingly great taste. Would like to try every meal on the menu.

Visited Oak Eatery because is the best rated restaurant in Zomato. Totally overrated to my experience. Food was good but nothing outstanding. Service was great.
Winson Chee
Awesome food, great service and wonderful play area for kids to hangout while the parents enjoy their meals with peace. <br/><br/>It the prefect place for family and friends to get together

Love this place! It is so spacious and is a cool set out! The decor is so cute and the whole cafe is a vibe. The service is exceptional. Our meals came out so fast, within 10 minutes definitely! Our smoothies were absolutely amazing and our meals were so delicious with such a variety of veges, the flavours and textures complemented themselves so well! Very impressed, even though the cafe was full and busy we were attended to so quickly and our meals came out so fast, oh and also our poached eggs were perfect! Loved the green hollandaise sauce. YOU HAVE TO TRY THIS PLACE
Jess
Food was delicious. Could not be faulted. The waitress was very attentive, friendly and professional. Love the decor and the secluded site of this eatery.
GS
So worth it, especially with zomato gold.<br/><br/>Eggs bene and big breakfast was perfect. Strong coffee. Delicious cheesecake, yogurt cake was also so light and creamy.<br/><br/>Bright ambiance, friendly and smiley service. Food came out fast. What a gem of a place
Lynn Le
Definitely deserving of its insta worthy claim. The presentation of the food was on point 🔥. The pancake tasted great, light and fluffy. I really enjoyed the variety of fruits that came with it. <br/>The salmon was also delicious 😋, the fries however was underwhelming. I decided to finished the meal off with a donut and this too was average. <br/>Seems like they do their main very well so might be safer to stick with those. <br/><br/>Atmosphere wise, I really like the layout and decor of the place. I went on a Sunday afternoon so it was not too busy and had plenty of seatings to choose from. <br/><br/>I would recommend to give cafe a try if you're in the area.
YEe LiNg
Been here with my zomato gold! Its in the mall and good environment!ordered seafood bisque and coconut pancake, both are so tasty and delicious! Highy recommend and definitely will go back again!

Nice food, good service, lovely coffee, very quiet place to talk, suit for the friends catch up. Easy to find the car parking, inside shopping mall, nice view.
Kate Brookes
Friendly service, everything came out really quickly. Food is amazing! So many flavours and quite large portions. Would highly recommend and will definitely be coming back.
Tanya Bhatia
The best breakfast place in Royal Oaks. Great hospitality by staff and nice and quiet place to enjoy Sunday brunch. My weekend brunch getaway point.
Littlenoodley
We came for the high rate on? Zomato, and after we dine at the cafe, we would like to give the same high? rate to the cafe! Attractive Cabin food, cheese cakes, Nappolen, and Tiramisu and ect. You must be able to find one you like. The main is serve with nice display, large portion with good taste! Love their staff with beautiful smile! The only thing is, if they can move the restaurant to an open place, that will be perfect!
Annie Low
Went on a Saturday and it was crowded. Wait for more than 10 minutes for a table. Food took quite a long time to be served. We ordered the big breakfast, salmon hash Benedict , seafood bisque and also korean chicken tacos to share! Love their big breakfast. Seafood bisque was a little too creamy. Korean chicken tasted great! Coffee was not bad too. Great deal for zomato gold member
Roderick Hadiwibowo
Second time here so I think it's worth reviewing.<br/><br/>Great coffee, delicious food, easy to find location and even greater value through zomato gold. Would especially recommend the bulgogi burger!
Lizzie
Come by this place every week when I do my grocery shop and have always been curious to try - finally came here in Zomato gold. The place was so packed - good sign! I had the coconut pancakes as they seemed the most popular in reviews & I was not disappointed. They were so fluffy and not too sweet and the coconut flavour really came through and paired with the light syrup - delicious! My friend tried the seafood bisque and that was also so yum and abit like a tomato-based curry - very different. Only weird thing is that it’s in a mall which is a bit random but not a deal breaker!
A.K
This little cafe resides inside one of the local malls and its just so nice. The staff/owners are also very friendly! <br/><br/>They have both a menu and cabinet goodies. We ordered abit from both. We had the Chunky chips | Banana loaf | Nutella cream donut. For drinks we had Hot chocolate | Mocha. Everything was perfect! Their drinks were so smooth and they probably have the best banana loaf ever! <br/><br/>Would highly recommend!!

Who would have thought that the shabby old Royal Oak mall would contain a hidden gem like Oak Eatery? This cafe is a little oasis upstairs in the mall, bright and airy and very well-decorated compared to its surroundings. <br/><br/>I ordered the Green Eggs Benny which came with pesto, grilled halloumi and sautéed vegetables on a dark rye bread. I often find the hollandaise on eggs benny a little too heavy, however this one was infused with spinach and basil and was nice and light. I had a joyous moment when I cut into the eggs and the yolk ran everywhere and I didn’t even mind that it made the rye bread go a little soggy. As always the halloumi added a delicious salty flavour, and as random as the sautéed vegetables were they actually were a nice addition to the dish. I also really appreciated the wheat berries on the dish, I feel like they are an under utilised textural delight 8.5/10<br/><br/>I also ordered a matcha latte with coconut milk- it was a little sweet for my liking but was still tasty, the matcha wasn’t too overpowering and it had a yummy hint of white chocolate to it. 8/10<br/><br/>Was great getting to use my Zomato Gold membership making the whole thing super affordable! Overall a great experience, will definitely return to this Royal Oak gem.

#zomato gold#<br/><br/>Got the Seafood Bisque and the Big Breakfast. Both absolutely delicious. Excellent value with Zomato Gold 5/5!<br/><br/>Worth the trip out to Royal Oak to try this place!

First visit here and loved the ambience it's very nice that they have a young child play area for mothers with bubs. Though it was a little stuffy the cafe was at the top in open air so even with air conditioning on it could get hot in the afternoons as the air conditioning would escape. The popcorn chicken wasn't that great too dry it seems like it was a few days old or just totally overcooked. It was cooked like Korean style. The big breakfast and the strawberry yogurt cake was great and the drinks were good too. Look forward to trying their other things on the menu next time.
Hannah Latorre
Had the iced matcha and chocolate for drinks and the big breakfast and chicken taco for brunch. The iced matcha could have a stronger matcha flavour but was still really good. I was very pleased with my big breakfast, it was nicely presented, the poached eggs were cooked perfectly, and very filling. The chicken taco had a lot of flavour and the flatbread was flaky and delicious. Will definitely be back to this cafe

Such a nice cafe on the second floor of the mall. The cafe is very open, clean and has good lighting. The staff were attentive and friendly. The presentation of food was beautiful and tasted delicious. However the portion was a bit small for me. Will be back again though:)

Took my son there on saturday, he loved the children’s play area. Food was nice, rich with flavor. Small portion, hubby and I finished 3 main dishes :)

The food was delicious and the service excellent. Had the green eggs benedict and bulgogi beef burger. Beef was cooked perfectly!<br/>Matcha latte was outstanding! Think it has white chocolate in it. Subtle but just enough to notice.
Mercy
Nice clean interior with a kid friendly playpit. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Food was good, very busy too so can see the locals really like it here. Ordered the Korean burger, Mexican? chicken salad and 2 iced mochas. Alll very good. Will be back to try more from the menu

An open cafeteria on the second level of the Royal Oak Mall. Clean and spacious with a lovely ambience.<br/><br/>They offer a good range of food. The blueberry cheesecake was quite rich and fruity. The matcha latte was divine and not overly sweet. The egg benny was quite standard, nothing memorable.<br/><br/>Beautiful presentation on food. Especially the colourful coffees.<br/><br/>Friendly waiters and chefs. Always love coming here! Service is great, people are friendly and the menu has the perfect amount of options and variety.<br/><br/>The popcorn chicken is a nice new addition. It's saucy without being overwhelming and good if you're not too hungry or as a sharing plate.<br/><br/>Only place I eat pancakes is here - the coconut pancakes are fluffy and really filling. I like that there is fruit, honey and a small amount of candy floss. The honey is in a small jar so you can decide how much you want to pour onto the pancakes. Other places go over the top with their pancakes, dousing it in sauce and sugary add ons which make it all way too sweet. Oak Eatery's fruit adds a nice balance to the pancakes without making the whole meal too sweet.<br/><br/>My partner got the oak big breakfast. The bratwurst sausage that comes with it is delicious! He was happy.<br/><br/>I also got a matcha latte with coconut milk. Best place for matcha latte by far!<br/><br/>Definitely recommend this cafe :)

I liked it! Went there for my birthday brunch. Clean and neat layout in the suburb of Royal Oak. The options were quite a mix, ranging from Korean chicken to coconut pancake and your usual big breakfast. I enjoyed my pancakes and smoothie. Portions sizes were decent too.<br/><br/>Service 4.5/5<br/>Taste 4.5/5<br/>Presentation 5/5<br/>

Have visited this place for a few times now, and had a great experience every time! Food and coffee here are always good and their staff are so friendly and helpful. They always have some type of new cake or new special drinks every time I visit and are all very interesting. 100% recommend for big group brunches as well, not many places have tables for big groups like they do. Will come back again.<br/><br/>Food 9/10 Service 9/10 Ambience 8/10

The service and interior here were excellent! <br/>My partner had the bulgogi burger and I decided to try something different to my usual brunch order and ordered the tofu with rice balls dish which had a miso sauce. <br/>The burger was nice but unfortunately I really did not enjoy my dish. It was quite bland to me as nothing tasted seasoned and the miso sauce wasn’t enough to tie everything together, so I definitely regretted ordering this dish but at least it was healthy. <br/>We passed a friend as we were leaving who said she was really enjoying her pancakes, and their cakes in the cabinet also looked amazing! So their sweet items are probably a good choice.

We ordered the Coconut Pancakes, Korean Chilli Chicken Taco, and Popcorn Chicken.<br/><br/>The pancakes were presented beautifully and was surprisingly light and refreshing as the syrup wasn’t too sweet, good variety of fruit also.<br/><br/>Not really sure if the taco counted as a taco as it was just one slab of meat placed on top of a tortilla. I was quite confused at first as to why the chicken we had ordered was black? I thought they had mistakenly given us ribs, but concluded that the colour was probably just the sauce they used. Good flavour, but a bit tough to chew. I also thought that the flavours tasted more Chinese than Korean..<br/><br/>The popcorn chicken was rather disappointing as it didn’t feel fresh. The batter/skin was just warm and not at all light or crispy. It was quite hard and also difficult to chew. Really did not enjoy this dish at all. The only saving grace from this entire meal would have to be the fries, they were wonderfully seasoned and the house-made aioli was delicious.<br/><br/>Service was very friendly and warm, and the interior was very cute and cosy.

Have been a frequent attender of this cafe since it has opened. The cabinet selection is good, I have enjoyed the carrot loaf (best value for quantity) and strawberry yoghurt cake, but didn’t particularly like the raw slices (e.g. black forest and coconut/raspberry slices, might just be that I am not used to eating them). <br/><br/>My wife is an avid matcha fan and has tried many matcha lattes across Auckland and this is apparently the best so far. She also praises their matcha cream slice.<br/><br/>Their service has improved over time and has become more efficient. The cafe is clean and spacious, with a play area for toddlers and young children.<br/><br/>The dine-in food is decent, and at times mediocre. The chicken salad I had last time was overseasoned and some food items can be quite salty e.g. fries with burger. <br/><br/>Overall a convenient place to eat especially for families around the area. A great place to pick up a coffee or sweet snack, dining in falls slightly below expectations however.

Oak eatery was a pleasant discovery for us, conveniently located near Royal Oak Pak n save which we visit often. We found out about Oak eatery through Zomato gold and decided to visit on a Sunday morning. The cafe is pleasantly decorated with plenty of seating, we did not have any issues getting seats.<br/><br/>We ordered the Oak big breakfast and the Ginger tofu, as well as an iced matcha and soy mocha with a Nutella donut from the cabinet to finish off. <br/><br/>The Oak big breakfast is all you could want in a big breakfast. We got it with scrambled eggs which was an amazing texture and taste. Everything in the big breakfast was cooked to perfection. The dish was a good portion size and the pickles were a good accompaniment to cut through the heavier parts of the dish. A suggestion would be to have some sort of sauce to tie the whole dish together. | $24 <br/><br/>The ginger tofu was an interesting brunch dish. The tofu was the best thing, it was seasoned well and the texture was just right. The krispy kelp and grilled rice ball were also surprisingly yum! The only criticism about the dish would be the white miso sauce which tasted a bit weird - perhaps a soy or sesame sauce would work better. For someone like me who likes large portion sizes, this dish was on the small side as the grilled rice ball did not fill me up. | $20.5<br/><br/>The Nutella donut was soft and smelt amazing but the filling lacked some sweetness | $6 <br/><br/>The soy latte was delicious, the soy taste was not noticeable. It was a very chocolatey mocha, with amazing latte art | $5.5 <br/><br/>The iced matcha was yum! Some places really get it wrong and I was happy to find a iced matcha to my satisfaction. It was a little on the mild side for those that don’t like strong matcha | $7 <br/><br/>Overall we love love loved this experience at Oak eatery and would definitely visit again.

Came here on Thursday for brunch after hearing many good things about them. <br/><br/>It’s a really community-focused cafe, with a kids playground; the cafe itself is also spacious and located on the upper floor of the mall.<br/><br/>We ordered Green Eggs Benedict w/ Smoked Salmon, Salmon Benedict, and Coconut Pancakes.<br/>Food arrived fast. <br/><br/>- Green Eggs Bene (7/10) it wasn’t spectacular but I did like their pairing option of halloumi and vegetables. I couldn’t quite tell whether the sourdough rye is supposed to be that hard and burnt? It was a bit difficult to cut through with the knife. Eggs were cooked well and sunny and the Green hollandaise sauce was nice. I feel like if it weren’t for my added salmon, it would lack in flavour. <br/><br/>- Salmon Bene (8/10) the salmon hash was soft, fluffy and moist, and flavours were good. However I feel like portion sizes is on the smaller size compared to other cafes. <br/><br/>- Coconut Pancakes (9/10) very well cooked pancakes that diffused it’s aromatic coconut scent. It’s light, moist and fluffy yet still somewhat dense. Very subtly coconut flavours coming through, with syrup on the side to drizzle on top. Candy floss also a nice touch and makes it a very photogenic dish. <br/><br/>In terms of service, I was kind of left hanging as I walked in and waited at the door to be seated, despite a few of them seeing me and then ignored me. Then we were left kind of hanging for awhile as I was waiting for our last person to arrive. Like I understand we’re just holding up a table but it felt like we were somewhat neglected... we were pretty much approached only once, which was to serve our food. It wasn’t that busy at the time as well. <br/><br/>Overall it’s an decent addition to the Royal Oak mall, but I’d like to see some improvements in portion sizes and perhaps more attention to diners. If I come next time I’ll give their cabinet stuff a try. <br/><br/>Food: 8/10<br/>Price: 9/10<br/>Ambience: 8/10<br/>Service: 6/10<br/>

We went to Oak because it was on Zomato Gold, but oh my goodness I am so glad we did. The service was so kind and lovely, the food was DELICIOUS (and instagrammable, it's true lol) and the ambience was excellent too. You wouldn't know it was there so thank you to Zomato for introducing me to my new local which I will be frequenting!

One of the best brunch meals I have had in awhile. The service was so pleasant and atomsphere was bright and clean. When paying they really valued our opinion and asked us what we enjoyed most and what they can improve on. Really appreciate a restaurant that wants to improve.<br/>•<br/>🌱Green eggs benedict 10/10<br/>Hands down the best eggs benedict. I would say this is even better than the eggs benedict with the fried hash nest. The basil spinach hollandaise was so creamy but light and worked so well with the roasted veggies. It's rare for me to finish an egg Benedict and not feel bloated and want to throw up. This is how light and wholesome this dish is.<br/>•<br/>🐟 Smoked salmon hash Benedict 6/10<br/>This dish was average not as amazing as the green eggs Benedict. The hash cake was too mashy and watery for my liking but the eggs were poached well.<br/>•<br/>🥤Smoothie 10/10<br/>The smoothies were amazing, packed with so many nutritious ingredients. Our favourite was the berry one 😍
Denise
Excellent place to hang out especially with young kids. Coffee to die for in my opinion and excellent delicious food. Friendly and welcoming service staff.

Man such an awesome place for breakfast. The food is amazing and the burger is awesome. The Pan cakes .... man really good. What also made this experience even enjoyable was the friendly staff. Always feels good when welcomed with a smile. Thank you!!!

Always welcomed with a smile , staff are amazing, if you are after a good sound coffee And a wonderful dessert look no further. Give it a go <br/>

I feel like the sauce for coconut pancake is a bit too sweet. Umm maybe I just don’t like those sweet sauce🤣 but cheese cake is really good.

Family friendly, great parking and delicious food! It’s a bit hidden away in an old school mall but this place is always packed on weekend and it’s obvious why. Not your basic brunch spot with great flavour and value when using Zomato Gold. Service has been both super attentive and a bit slower but will be back again!

Really unexpected to find a modern and nice cafe inside this old mall. Great spacious cafe, family friendly with a nice kids play area. Food was pretty good, we ordered the Soba and Kimchi burger. Coffee was great. Kids meal portion was very generous, the popcorn chicken was very yummy, we kept stealing our child’s food! Only odd thing was the service as we were seated but they didn’t provide any menu or drinks so had to go get them ourselves. This was probably due to them being too busy, not too big an issue and we’ll definitely be back someday.

Delicious Food! Friendly waitress and great service! a must try cafe here at royal oak mall.<br/>Ordered a big breakfast on their menu and it's really good
Ming Shi
Awesome cafe serving Asian fusion dishes. I absolutely loved the fried kimchi in my beef burger, and I will certainly be back to try the other dishes. The ambience is not that great, given we are in a mall. I definitely think that the price is a little too high given the atmosphere is less than perfect, even with a 20% discount.

Came here for brunch and was impressed.<br/><br/>Menu is different and not just your standard brunch items you see these days. Food is delicious.<br/><br/>Wasn’t too impressed with the wait though. Food took far too long to come.<br/><br/>Service was good though and staff kept checking in on us giving us updates about the food.

Loved loved loved the food here! Not only was the service quick, but the ambience was super cute at the top of royal oak mall and the food was yummy. The coconut pancakes looked small but goodness so filling! The accompanying fruit was tart which was good as the sweet mint and coconut syrup helped balance the flavors. The potion for the big breakfast did not disappoint with nice wheat toast, poached eggs, streaky bacon, lovely buttered mushrooms, roasted tomato and crispy hash browns. The big breakfast was definitely enough to share among two people! Got a mocha which was nice too. Next time I’d be keen to come back and try the bulgogi beef burger!

This is a cute little cafe at Royal oak mall. Happened to visit them for brunch on a lazy Saturday. Good food and quick service. A good one time visit.

Delicious food here! Staff are also lovely. Was not disappointed when we came. But the location is a bit funny (inside a mall) - definitely think the location and decor needs to be updated to give it a nicer vibe!

How did I miss this space! Never thought there was a nice cafe there. Really LOVE the decorations, so clean and cool!! The bonus for parents is play area for kids!! Staff and services are on top - friendly, polite and helpful. Food served really quickly. We had smoked salmon hash benedict, Moroccan chicken salad, and blueberry cheesecake. Though I love everything about them but I have to say that the food we had today were great but nothing special or wow about them. However I will definitely come back here again and try other dishes.<br/><br/>Back here again to try more dishes and so happy to see they are pretty full house. Service and ambient are still great! We had the beef burger, chicken taco and pork belly. We like burger and taco - really good taste but the pork belly is not quite right for my opinion. It’s a bit confusing in taste and texture. Still love this place anyway :)

My partner and I came here for big brunch on Saturday morning and we found that it's a very popular cafe. We ordered ice coffee, salmon, coconut pancake and popcorn chicken. After I took a first sip of this ice coffee, it was really suprised me because the taste was just right. The food was really worth to be tried as well. I recommend that have the pancake with white source together. Also staff are really nice and definitely will back again.

Visited for the first time after seeing it had the Zomato Gold experience. Friendly and attentive staff with excellent customer service. Atmosphere was really nice and the cafe was nicely lit for my insta-worthy food snaps. Coffee was amazing. I had the coconut pancakes and it was a delight! Loved the fruits on the side. Would come again.

A gem in royal oak mall!!!. Highly recommend the smoked salmon Benedict, I love the sauce and the decoration. My cappuccino was done just perfect by an experienced barista. This is a good stop in the mall, definitely will come back.

Nice spot given it’s in a mall that’s quite old. Salmon hash is what I always get with a berry smoothie. Although I do wish they served salmon on eggs bene. The has towards the end can get a little sickening. Nonetheless, delicious food complimented with great services.

Love the place! Its tucked away upstairs of royal oak mall, it had its own private area. The coconut pancakes were good. I liked that they put the syrup on the side so you can control how much you put in. Also had the soy matcha latte. Wasnt the best matcha, but still good. Would happily come back here.

Here is a lot of Asian style menu like a Soba noodle, Korean chiken, Bulgogi beef burger, etc.<br/>They are very unique menu. It's not easy to find that kind of food in Auckland.<br/>Not only unique also amazingly tasty.<br/>Everything was just perfect. Thanks!

Fantastic food. Amazing lattes, loved the turmeric and ginger one. Beautifully plated and scrumptious. Creative dishes and well put together. Will definitely revisit. Staff were warm and helpful. Seating area was tidy and cosy. Would recommend.

Lovely spot for brunch! Situated upstairs the spot is bright and open and really welcoming. Great meal here, loved their take on hollandaise sauce.

I am always a fans of oak eatery, not only their food is amazing , we also love there is a play area for kids which makes going out for lunch so much easier for parents !!!<br/>We ordered green bene with grilled halluomi and ginger tofu. Everything was great, staffs were friendly , will definitely go back !

The cafe is clean and they have an interesting menu. Very nice and full of flavour. The salad is delicious. Love the art on the coffee. They have delicious raw cake which I will try on my next visit 😊
Karen
Good food and staff were very polite but service was far too slow. It wasn’t very busy either so couldn’t understand why the food was taking so long. Maple syrup was also quite watery and sticky on the pancakes so made a bit of a mess everywhere! Otherwise the food is definitely worth a visit!
Ruby Jang
Really enjoyed our brunch! The coconut pancakes were fresh and loaded with an array of fresh fruits. Coffee was very well made and everything was just aesthetically pleasing.

Been here a few times. Food is great but had to take a couple of stars off as I’ve had to wait over an hour for my food whilst partner had his given to him in the first 5 minutes and finished well before I got my meal. This happened the last two times I went. I had to get the waiter’s attention a couple of times but seemed like were trying to avoid eye contact.

Came for lunch and ordered too much as always. Zomato gold gave a good discount. We walked away satisfied and content. Cafe is on second floor inside the mall.<br/><br/>The bulgogi burger was flavourful and surprisingly good! Recommended.<br/>The popcorn chicken isn't really popcorn size, but the taste was great! Slightly sweet and super crunchy. Recommended also.<br/>The pancakes were soft and sweet. Combined with the fruits, it makes a very tasty treat. Recommended also.<br/>The scrambled eggs on toast was made very well. Buttery and soft. Too much bread though. Very nice.<br/><br/>Great cafe with plenty of parking. Would recommend.<br/><br/>Update: came back after almost a year. Still great.

Beautiful spacious cafe located inside the Royal Oak mall. We ventured out here through zomato gold and were treated to a very friendly welcome. <br/><br/>There is a assortment of brunch options on the menu, with all the classics with the oak eatery twist. The cabinet was also nicely displayed, so we also had to order dessert with our brunch. <br/><br/>The food was very nicely presented and also tasted good too!<br/><br/>So glad we found this place!

Went for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed our meal!! Service was quick and friendly and the food was delicious. We ordered a chicken taco and salmon hash<br/>Matcha latte was one of the best I've had so far!<br/>Will definitely be back to try more

Came in for brunch today. Used Zomato Gold and got the green eggs benedict with halloumi and vegetables for free. The bulgogi beef burger was packed with vegetables. The kimchi inside was spicer than the normal ones I usually have. Fries were crispy and seasoned well. Halloumi was a bit too salty for me. Rye sourdough wasn't too hard which was good. Staff were friendly. Atmosphere 3/5.

Tried this place for the first time very recently. I ordered the Smashed Avo with Edamame and it was amazing! The people I was with were also very happy with their meals. Would recommend for breakfast/brunch.

Very polite people and the foods are excellent! Must try the strawberry yoghurt cake!!! The price is very affordable and I would love to visit this place again!

Tried this place in the weekend for lunch and really enjoyed it. It was clean and spacious with a secure play area for the little ones. Food was delicious with good size portion. Loved the Korean chicken tacos and bulgogi beef burger.

Probably because I had too much expectation from the 4.6-star rating, after the experience we were disappointed. The service was good, however, really pricy for the size. I ordered the pancake, the fruit on the side was NOT fresh or sweet at all. <br/><br/>Food: 3/5<br/>Service: 5/5<br/>Valuable: 2/5<br/>Atmosphere: 3/5

This place well deserve their high rating! The customer service there was outstanding, we were always greeted with a big smile, and staffs were very polite. My partner and I both enjoy our meals here, and would likely come back and try out more meals next time. We came around 2:30pm, and service was quick.

It’s always pleasant to visit oak eatery. They are child friendly as it is possibly only one of the few cafe that has a dedicated toddler play area. It’s so great to see they have new toys since we visited last.<br/><br/>We ordered our meals and waited whilst our girl played in the area. It was a bit of a wait for the fluffy pancakes but it was beautifully presented and delicious. I would suggest the staff advice customer the pancake will be a bit of a wait. However they were quick to address this concerns and offered a discount because of the wait. I say this is brilliant customer service. Oh how could I forgot to mention the cute hot chocolate they prepared for my girl!

Friendly service with a genuine smile. The service was fast at 230pm, lovely, clean, light and open and relaxing ambience. Our food was fresh and tasted so good. Lots of healthy options. I recommend this place.<br/>Miriama

So impressed by the food here! The green eggs Benedict with halloumi was so good and the veges tasted amazing. Such new, fresh flavours. Eggs bene can usually be pretty rich and heavy but this was light and tasty. Coffee was great and the strawberry yoghurt cake was moist and light - not too sweet with a nice tartness from the yoghurt. And they offer 1:1 meals for zomato gold members - even better!

Good food and really polite and friendly staff. We loved that the chicken taco used chicken thigh meat, as it should be, so that the meat remained juicy. The pancakes were light and fluffy, we were surprised with the amazing fruit salad on the side, particularly with the range of unique fruits like kiwi berries. Loved the rose fairy floss too!! We will definitely be back again!
#fatlyfe
Had the bulgogi burger. Definitely not flavours I’ve ever had before! There was sweet and sour and salty and everything was well balanced. There was also kimchi in it which I thought might have been weird but was a nice surprise. The aioli was thick and creamy and couldn’t get enough of it 😍😍 staff were super friendly

Ordered the Green eggs bene with haloumi & roasted vegetables without the rye bread. Absolutely delicious. Will definitely return to try more dishes. Service was pleasant and eatery was clean, tidy and had a fresh feel.

It's our first time trying out the Zomato Gold. We picked Oak Eatery for its high rating of 4.5/5. I had the Moroccan chicken karaage salad. The chicken was crispy & temperature-hot, while the salad was cold & refreshing. (It would have been great if chicken thighs were used.) My wife had the coconut pancakes fresh fruits, floss & with additional bacon. There was a good variety of fruits & the pancakes were soft. The bacon added extra taste to the sweet pancakes - a successful combination.<br/>(Food - 4/5; Service - 4/5)<br/>Visited on 19 February 2019<br/>P.S. Oak Eatery deserves a higher rating.

First time visit to this cafe, very nice ambience here. Although family friendly we don't feel disturbed by any noise etc. There is a designated play area for kids which is great. The place is very spacious and Food tastes great. The pesto sauce on my smoked salmon benedict was yummy, blueberry cheese is a bit too sweet to my taste but still indulging. Good place to done with with friends and family.

What a good experience lunching at this cafe. Great coffee and great food and service. Didn't know this place was this good. Yum. Lovely cakes in the cabinet too.

Delicious food, kids friendly environment it has a play ground inside the cafe, great services, drinks taste wonderful. 5 star for everything. This has become my must go weekly cafe.

Cute, friendly, tasty and bright!<br/>An interesting placement for such a unique cafe, but it’s so fun! We sat right on the edge of the mezzanine and had a great time people watching while being doused in plenty of natural light and sunshine from the skylights above. <br/>The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The food is delish. The coffee is smooth and tasty. All round a great time.

Fabulous smoothies here at the Oak and Eatery. I loved how bright and vibrant the smoothies look and they the mixes were fresh and flavorsome!<br/><br/>Located on the second floor of the mall in Royal Oak, it doesn’t look like much from downstairs but going up stairs you can’t help but feel like you’re in an entirely different building. Oaks has a large space upstairs but it’s well organized and decorated that you feel like there’s plenty of space between your table and other patrons. <br/><br/>I choose this place as it was in the middle between my houses and my ex-colleagues and they were all impressed with Oaks considering it was in Royal Oaks. I had some food before so wasn’t feeling hungry and ordered the Smashed Avocado, while my friends ordered their signature Coconut Pancakes and Egg Omelets. <br/><br/>Food took around 10 minutes to come out, the star was without doubt the Coconut pancakes. Beautifully decorated with fruit slices, the pancakes tasted as great as it looked. If you’re a typical millennial who cant resist a nice smashed avo, then Oaks is the place for you. Plenty of creamy avocado to go with a nice poached egg.<br/><br/>Great service and clean layout, one of Auckland’s best cafes in my opinion. <br/><br/>Overall Grade: A-<br/>Showstopper: Smoothies and Pancakes.
Ella
Came in and tried the coconut pancakes with a friend of mine - and they were absolutely divine! The varied fruits on the side were so fresh and the whole dish was presented beautifully! We also got a plate of the chips with aioli dip and the dip was really good but small and we had far too many chips for it :( but overall lovely experience and will definitely be back to try more of the menu next time I’m in the area!

A little cafe hidden away inside Royal Oak mall that’s definitely worth the venture for.<br/><br/>Service: 9/10<br/>We were welcomed by the staff at the counter and everyone was very friendly.<br/>The food took quite long to get to us but at least they were all served together.<br/>The waitress that served our meals forgot to give us cutlery and we had to call for her to get some for us.<br/>When we were paying the bill, the staff kindly asked us about our meal and made great conversation.<br/><br/>Food: 6/10<br/>I got the coconut pancakes and a blueberry cheesecake, and both of them were gorgeous.<br/>My plate had a pool of water which made the bottom pancake quite soggy.<br/>The pancakes were a little too soft and fell apart at the touch, which made them quite hard to pick up. The fruit was tart which contrasted the sweetness of the pancakes and fairy floss, they also added some texture to the overall dish. The cream was SO GOOD! The sweet creamy vanilla flavour was a great touch to the sour fruit.<br/>The blueberry cheesecake had a thin sweet and buttery layer of biscuit base.<br/>The filling was quite thick and gelatinous, it was difficult to eat a whole slice. It was smooth and not too sweet with juicy tart blueberries.<br/><br/>Ambiance: 9/10<br/>The cafe is tucked away inside Royal Oak Mall, which makes it quite a trip to find it. <br/>The mall itself is gloomy and depressing so entering the cafe is like entering a different realm. The cafe has a elegant theme with beautiful white walls and a bookshelf with aesthetic succulents.<br/>There are cool rustic lights hanging throughout the dining area.<br/>There is a children’s play area which boosts a relaxing environment for all ages.<br/>The cutlery and plates are so nice, the utensils are golden too.<br/><br/>It’s quite hard to find a modern rustic cafe like this around the area, so it’s a great touch to Royal Oak.

This place is so good and you would never expect it from its location. I'm a foodie and have lived in the Royal Oak area for the last 15 years. So glad to finally have an amazing cafe in the area. I've been here at least a few times now and it has been consistently good every single time which can't be said for a lot of cafes, even other popular ones. Especially love the kids area, such a perfect place for me to bring my baby. Love this place!!
Lillie
Ambience was amazing, and the food was good. The shiitake soba noodles I expected it to have actual mushrooms in the dish but the mushroom is only present as a flavor in the sauce, presentation was amazing though. Had to wait for food a little longer than usual cafes take but overall it was ok. :)

Oh I love these people so much! Our most recent visit had us ordering a berry smoothie, latte, coconut pancakes and big breakfast. The smoothie was full of flavour and each mouthful tasted like heaven. I’m not sure what the secret was with the pancakes but they were light and fluffy and very tall! Amazing! Beautiful fresh fruit accompanied it. The latte was smooth and milky - perfectly blended. The big breakfast was well enjoyed! Go and see the team at Oak Eatery for a meal crafted with love!

My new favourite cafe! The food is beautifully presented and delicious! Service is great too.  What a neat place to have in the shopping mall.

fridenly service, good food and good coffee. A bit hard to find but it worth the trip. Located on second floor of royal oak shopping mall. Ask for jay to make ur coffee.

This cafe is situated on the second floor of the Royal Oak Mall, serving breakfast/lunch, as well as a selection of cabinet foods (including raw cakes/slices). <br/><br/>Environment: 3/5 comfortable.<br/>The set up and decor is clean and simple, with ample room between tables. They also have a small enclosed play area suitable for toddlers/young children. Perhaps more lighting would enhance the beautiful open space they have, making the establishment more inviting. <br/><br/>Service: 3/5 friendly.<br/>The wait staff were chatting in a group behind the counter on arrival, but we were greeted shortly after. There was an usually long wait for our orders to be taken, given that they were not busy (only 3 other tables). Coffee arrived promptly after orders were taken, followed shortly by food. We were not checked up on throughout the meal. <br/><br/>Food: 2/5 disappointing. <br/>Unfortunately, the food did not meet my expectations. I ordered the “coconut pancakes with vanilla-cinnamon cream, seasonal fresh fruits and honey comb”. Although they put effort into plating, the components were not what I expected as on the menu description. The coconut pancakes were fine in terms of texture. My last pancake was served sitting on the watery mess that covered the plate. No signs of the vanilla-cinnamon cream? The fruit salad was most definitely not fresh. Their honey comb could only be described as a bit strange. Portion may be considered small for some people. I had my pancakes with golden syrup and inevitably, with the puddle on my plate. I see that others had better renditions of the same dish, so perhaps the chef was just having an ‘off’ day. <br/>However, my friend speaks highly of the food here and she recommends the bulgolgi burger.<br/><br/>Perhaps if this was my local, I would be willing to give it another chance. Overall, it was average at best.

Coconut pancakes were wow!! Never had anything like it before with a bundle of fresh fruits, loved every bite of it. The mocha was amazing, a real good cup of coffee that had perfect blends. Would definitely return to try more things on the menu.

One of the best cafes I have been to. If you ask me where the best place to go in New Zealand is, I would say here which is a hidden place. Awesome service and great coffee as well.  Keep it up guys! We will be back again!

Really love this place and the service they provide. Nice cosy place to have some coffee and let the kids play. <br/>Definitely worth a five star each time.

after over an hour of driving around town in search of a decent slice of cheesecake (i felt like i was starring in ‘mission impossible’) zomato FINALLY led us to oak eatery. tucked inside royal oak mall, this place was TRULY heaven sent with a light and airy atmosphere and angelic staff!<br/><br/>after being treated to super warm and attentive service, our meals arrived in a flash and tasted JUST as good as they looked!!<br/><br/>if you’re ever in the need for a cruisey catch up over coffee and cake then this is the place! the proof is literally in the pudding 😆

Nice place . In second floor royal oak mall. Lots of parking. Must try their smoothies and bagel . Service good staff very welcome .one more thing to say becon only two pieces charge 6 dollar. Little bit expensive

Love this place especially their coconut pancakes! Great little spot for kids to run around while you eat and customer service is very fast and friendly would highly recommend

Always used to go here for desert and brunch. it was our local cafe with amazing food, but now with the new owners(I guess) the food isn’t great at all. Never prepared enough dessert as before... have been there a couple of times since and wouldn’t go back.

Ordered omellete with champagne ham and cuppa of cappuccino. It was great and my boy enjoyed the lunch there. They have got a small play area for kids. This is my second time been there. I noticed they removed the slide from play area maybe for safety reason. Would give 5 if they provide more toys and books for toddler 😃

Very family friendly and the food is delicious. The staff are very accommodating. Have been here for brunches and lunches. Their raw desserts are also yummy from the cabinet.

With a Zomato rating of 4.3 prior to my visit over the weekend my expectations were quite high. Service was okay. I booked a table for 12 and we ended up being 10 in total. The drinks were good although they arrived very spread out over the duration of our stay and the meals arrived quite random and spaced out too. I finished my meal which was one of the first to arrive before the last meal was served. I can understand because we were a large group. However unfortunately this is a rating based on my experience and with my high expectations you fell short. I really didn’t like the chicken burger. The sauces were over powering and very sweet. The chips were okay. I got to try my mates coconut pancakes as he didn’t finish and they were very very thick and dense - I would compare them to a scone, not a pancake. The breakfast meals on the other hand all seemed to go down well so if I were to return I would stick to the bacon and eggs. However all in all I made a special trip out with my partner and friends for my partners birthday and I was left dissatisfied.
CrazyCatLady_EmmaC
Nice cafe with a small kids area and rooms for strollers to move around. Also a room available for meeting. Food and coffee are nice. Upstairs above the main food court of the royal oak mall.

Came here for brunch because i’ve heard good stuff about it and it did not disappoint. Ordered the Ugly bagel with haloumi and pancakes also. The pancakes came with pineapples, grapefruit, figs and kiwi and yoghurt. The bagel was perfect, this was my first time having haloumi and i really liked it. The bagel itself was really soft but crispy also. The cafe interior was really cute and aesthetic. Staff was friendly and the service and waiting time was also good. Would definitely be back for more!

4.5/5 Taste<br/>5/5 Display <br/>4/5 Quantity <br/>4.5/5 Customer Service <br/><br/>Amazing Cafe in Royal Oak Mall<br/><br/>Beautiful atmosphere, amazing coffee and fantastic breakfast dishes. Some of the menu were asian infused, using traditional korean sauce. Each dish were extremly well presented and beautifully decorationed. <br/>I ordered the big breakfast and the best part about it was the use of pickles. They managed to make the picks very beautiful and flowery with an amazing sweet and sour taste. Use of these pickles made the dish look better and also neutralized the greasy taste from fried food making the dish really well balanced. <br/>Coffee was extracted at perfect temperature and pressure providing minimum bitterness and no sour taste at all. <br/>They had excess staff and well organised workflow for faster customer service. <br/>

Come here quite often on the weekends for brunch, this place can get quite busy so there can sometimes be quite a wait. There was recently a price increase but not enough to deter us away. The food is alway really well presented and tasty and I've never received a bad coffee from here

A hidden gem in Royal Oak Mall! Food taste as good as it looks on the plate, workers are lovely. Cannot wait to go back. Also, the ginger latte here is amazing!

Had takeaway coffee from here 4/5 and staff very friendly. Didn’t eat anything although cabinet food looked appealing! Will return one day!

Loved this cafe. We enjoyed our meals. The chicken burger was super yum - the Korean sauce was superb. The eggs Benedict had radishes which added a new layer of flavor in this everyday dish. But what won me over was the coconut pancakes...divinely delicious and I’ve now decided I will try adding coconut to my pancakes at home. We also tried the chai latte but I didn’t like the ginger taste however my partner enjoyed it. Added bonus of the place is the mini playground which our little one enjoyed and we got to eat leisurely. All in all a nice visit here!

Went here on a Wednesday morning for some breakfast with my partner. This cafe is located on the second floor of Royal Oak mall. When I found out about the location, I kind of doubted about the location but when I reached, the location looks great. It's very spacious with a quiet surrounding perfect for breakfast.<br/><br/>I ordered their eggs on toast and my partner ordered the big breakfast which we shared because the serving size was very generous. The prices are a bit expensive compared to different cafes' big breakfast but the quality will do the explanation. We also ordered a side of avocado and hollandaise sauce which was yummy! We were very happy with our breakfast.<br/><br/>Though, the server could've done better. We asked about what's the most popular food people order and he just mumbled. I think he's still new but he should at least know what people usually order.<br/><br/>Overall, I loved it! The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. I am definitely coming back here soon!

Really enjoyed Oak Eatery's Vegetarian Chipotle Eggs Benedict breakfast - A great twist on the kiwi favorite that opted for grilled haloumi, toasted broccoli, sauteed baby carrot, micro greens and other delicious bits and pieces instead of the commonly found wilted spinnach and mushrooms.<br/><br/>Oak Eatery's modern and adventurous menu has all the classic breakfast and brunch items you could hope for at a cafe, all with a welcomed gourmet twist.<br/><br/>This cafe is hidden in Royal Oak mall, sitting above the retail stores, and though the thought of breakfast in a mall cafe would usually be a huge put off for me, it was a pleasant spot that I look forward to visiting again.

Great food, great service. Love the open space upstairs at Royal Oak Mall. Ankle biters welcome with a secure play pen on the side, while parents can enjoy their meals.

Wonderful food... I chose the coconut pancakes with fruit and honey ($17.50) and the purple smoothie with blueberries, yoghurt and honey ($8.50) and it was bloody delicious! Yes it is not cheap but the food stands to the challenge and even the presentation is lovely. I arrived around 3pm so not crowded at all, very quiet with very nice ambient music giving a jazzy groove. The chef takes his time to prepare his delicacies and you can tell it is cooked on the spot! I don't eat out much and it is easy to get ripped off in Auckland so places like this are gems ♥️

You wouldn’t expect to find a cafe that is beautifully decorated with delicious food and friendly staff in the slightly run down Royal Oak Mall. It is a gem that sits on the upper level. All the food I’ve had here has been spectacular (bagel, eggs and burger) but I have to give a special shout out to the fries, the best fries and aioli I’ve had, ever.

Situated on the top floor of Royal Oak Mall is Oak Eatery. The dining space is very spacious and they even have a small function room for private functions.<br/><br/>The menu has your everyday cafe staples but with a twist of Korea. They also have an great display of cabinet items. <br/><br/>The service is a bit slow but I would dine here again. The pork belly was very well presented. The salmon hash was also beautifully plated. It seems they like radish a lot, it's every where and on all dishes.

Came here in the morning for brunch. The cafe is open plan and pretty spacious, occupying a corner of the upper level inside Royal Oak mall. <br/>I got the potato Mille feuille, which is a multi layered baked potato cake, like the dessert but savoury. To match, a hot chocolate. <br/>The prices are standard cafe prices ranging from 15- 28 for a plate. <br/>Only think lacking on is the service, we had to go up and get the menus and go up to order as well. Or maybe that’s how the cafe is run, but it’s unclear. <br/>Apart from that, the food is delicious. Will definitely be back to try some of their cabinet cakes and other menu items.

Great place for breakfast. Food was too good. We ordered omelet and eggs Benedict. Both were yummy. Full of flavours. Ambiance were very elegant as well. Will definitely go back again.

Um delicious. Unexpected to find a place this nice in a mall. I had the omelette which is incredible. My friend had the coconut pancakes which were also amazing. Everything just went together so nicely. And it looks beautiful. Coffee was ok but not terrible (but I’m very fussy, don’t let that sway you). Go here if you’re around, it’s one of the nicer places in the area.

Service was amazing, staff were very friendly and super on to it. The decor was real nice, though it did feel a little weird being in a mall with a lot of shops closed and spaces for rent, which kind of ruined the atmosphere a little bit. The food was great, I got the Deep Fried Ginger Tofu, which was real tasty, but it did seem more like a dinner meal than brunch/lunch. My partner got the Chili Chicken burger and he loved it, plus the fries that came with it were all perfectly crispy and delicious. The food in the cabinet look absolutely amazing, but we didn't have any space left to sample any, but we'll definitely leave space next time!
Marina :)
I got the chicken burger which was really filling and had a nice flavour. Really good portion size too! I also got a chai latte which was very tasty. Service was speedy and staff were nice. Only drawback is food was a bit slow. Would come back and I would get the burger again. :)
Bettina Tran
The coffee was great - they roast their own beans. The food portion were generous. We got the salmon hash and the basil, pesto, tomato bagel. The cabinet cakes looked good but we didn't have any. The space was nice and trendy. The service was amazing! Very helpful. Parking was easy as it's Royal Oak Mall. Will go back to the more dishes!
Chris Gorringe
a little favourite for both my partner and I. we are regulars here when we cant decide where to go we always know that the service we recieve is great, coffee hot and food good. <br/><br/>My partner regulary indulges in the Coconut pancakes. Its a fresh breakfast with the additional fruit and honeycomb. I tend to lean towards the eges benedict with moroccian spiced vegetables. Just a lil twist on a classic but it works really well.
Elisa
My pork belly with gochujang was cooked perfectly, nice balance between sweet, spicy and savoury. Mum ordered the risotto and was a bit watery for our liking, texture left alot to be desired. Overall service was excellent, staff were friendly and decor and vibe of the space was good. Keen to come back and try some pastries next time!

This place so far has been the best mall cafe I’ve been too! Usually mall cafes are too loud and busy but this place was just right! Food and service was amazing! Deco was also amazing! Definitely will go back!
Sid
Awesome experience, the food was really good. The food took time to get to out table. However it was totally worth the wait. I had the coconut pancakes, it was so yummy. Decor, staff and cleanliness was top notch .Would 100% recommend.
Hangry Angee
I had the raw raspberry coconut cake. It was dairy free and gluten free. $8 quite pricey. Really nice cake but I couldn’t finish it! It was rich to eat. I love this cafe, excellent ambience, light, fresh, spacious inside. May have to come back again to try the coconut pancakes 🥞

We went here after a recommendation from a friend and it did not disappoint. Really good coffee. We had the spicy chicken burger and the beef bulgogi burger. The beef was above average with tasty extras. The chicken was out of this world amazing. We couldn't get over how good it was. As other reviewers have said, the chips are below average (you know those frozen ones that end up being an oily crispy shell with no hint of potato?) but the burgers are so filling that they're not really needed anyway. Cabinet food was really tempting and there's an enclosed play area for little ones.

I’m an extremely fussy eater - but I have just found the BEST cafe in Auckland!! Amazing food, amazing service.. will be back many time!! This is the eggs Benedict and ginger fried tofu 👌🏼👌🏼

This place is super cute - I love the airy/sunny feeling. This is located on the mezzanine level of the Royal Oak mall. <br/><br/>Cabinet food - yum! And if you're after a sweet treat, they are well stocked<br/>Menu food - also yum! Some of the items are korean fusion which I liked<br/>Smoothies - good selection and they put good quality ingredients in them<br/>Coffee - personally for me not the best<br/><br/>Totally recommended!
Sophia Bouladam
I had the Bulgogi Beef Burger, my daughter had the kids pancake and my fiancé had the Red Wine Marinated Pork Belly - my food wasn't so great but my fiancé loved his dish and so did my daughter. Would definitely recommend their area if you're looking for a cute place to dine and also because their staff were very accommodating :)
Steph
Royal Oak mall is the mall time forgot but Oak breathes new life into the place and is a must eat!! We were greeted by friendly and attentive staff who knew dietary requirements well and when the food came out we were shocked in the best way possible! For the price you pay I think you'd be hard pressed to find a better place than this and that's without us even trying their cabinet food which was very hard to say no to. Will definitely be my new local.

Went here for brunch. Lovely atmosphere and very open and spacious. The service was very friendly and prompt! Food was beautifully presented and the helpings very generous! Most important it was yummy! The coffee was very good to boot! Wanted to try the cabinet food but was way to stuffed! Next time!
Rowan Rebecca
Love the cakes! Such an amazing range. Everything has such a different taste and something to suit everyone. Great coffee here too, really enjoyed a ginger latte.

Went to the new Oak Eatery in Royal Oak today. Ordered the coconut pancakes and a mocha, coffee was great! comes with 2x marshmallows for you marshmallow lovers. Pancakes were amazeballs! came with a beautiful selection of fruits on the side, drizzled with maple/coconut syrup with a dollop of honey comb - totally delicious! Ambience was lovely, nothing too hectic. boyfriend liked the chairs, he said he could lean back and not fall off. service was great!! so lovely im celebrating my 25th bday there next week. can't wait to go back and try the chicken burger.

The location of this cafe is on the second level of Royal Oak Mall, which in my opinion makes it hard for visitors to chance upon unless they were specifically looking for it. The vibe and aesthetics of the place were consistent to the kind of cafe they are, it being an open setting and family friendly. There is a children’s play area which my little one was able to enjoy whilst we were dining there. The service was superb as the staff are all very welcoming and seem to actually love their jobs.<br/><br/>The menu seems to be catered towards those with more refined pallet. I ordered the mille-fueille, which I thoroughly enjoyed and my husband got the lamb loin, which was unfortunately not his cup of tea. The portions are of great size, so we weren’t able to finish it all off. The coffees were standard for a cafe and it was a great experience overall.

We always by pass wondering how this place is we decided to stop  <br/><br/>do we order food and coffees. Coffee taste sour, spend $26 for over cooked eggs burnt bacon and 50% leaves. Not go back again.<br/><br/>Service was ok, but nothing I'd expect from any new restaurant. I'd expect pretty extraordinary service for the location and cost.
Lisa Herrick
Visited today expecting good things after reading all the positive reviews on here, however won't be returning unfortunately. <br/><br/>Most of the servers were friendly, however the girl that bought our drink over seemed very uninterested, just dropping the drink on the table and walking away without a word or a smile. We also were not provided any cutlery and had to get up and get it ourselves. <br/><br/>I ordered poached eggs on toast and my partner had the big breakfast. The poached eggs on both meals were over cooked and not runny which was a big let down. The butter served with the toast was rock hard and impossible to spread on the toast so the lack of butter nor egg yolk meant it was quite dry. The bacon seems to be precooked and then reheated as ordered, so was a bit rubbery.

So refreshing to see an eatery like this in Royal Oak mall. The place needs a bit of a lift! <br/>Oak Eatery has a really clean and fresh look and feel to the place with a nice little menu and an eye catching selection of cabinet treats! It even has a play pen so its a lovely spot to enjoy with the kids. This place is sort of hidden as it's inside the mall so it was still pretty quiet the last time I went but spread the word!
Tt_akl
New eatery at royal oak! Really love the setting of this place, the lighting and furnishing is beautifully done, what's even better is a place for kids and toddlers to play, easy parking, sits on the second floor of the royal oak shopping mall. The kids area is a very thoughtful inclusion for its location and not many cafes do this! I had the soy iced coffee and almond croissant (generous servings), the iced coffee which was a bit too sweet for my liking but i just personally don't like sweet coffee.
Nicky
Friendly staff, great surroundings and ambiance. Clean, spacious and tidy. Coffee was really good. <br/><br/>We were disappointed with the food. We ordered the chickpea, zucchini loaf, which was incredibly sweet and full of cranberries. Nowhere did it mention it contained cranberries! It was so sweet that we didn't eat it. Also there was no hint of any zucchini. The creamy mushrooms were just average. They added olives and a bunch of other fancy things which was too over the top. <br/>Burger was good, fries very average frozen ones. I swapped out the blue cheese foam for regular cheese and it tasted good. <br/><br/>Our waiter was very friendly and took good care of us. Food was presented attractively, but a little too fussy. <br/><br/>We gave the feedback about the chickpea loaf being very disappointing but they still made us pay for it. <br/><br/>It would be a great place for taking your kids/babies as lots of room for prams and a play area<br/><br/>Would go back for the coffee and to try the cabinet food next time, but wouldn't order from the menu

Great place offering a variety of dishes for all dietary requirements.<br/><br/>Initially I was surprised about the location of such a great little restaurant (royal oak mall). <br/><br/>Quality coffee and cabinet food.<br/><br/>Raw cheesecakes are wonderful<br/>

A breath of fresh air for Royal Oak mall. We had breakfast here this morning before doing the weekly grocery shop. The decor is fresh and modern and the food is great too. The pickled veggies are a delicious touch to the meals. My only criticism would be that the gluten free bread was pretty cakey and bland, but it is nice to see a cafe making their own gluten free bread.
Emily
Amazing! Fresh, delicious food and flavours, delicious cabinet food (raw cakes are a must!) and excellent service. We were thoroughly impressed.

This new eatery has taken Royal Oak mall to a whole new level! Packed with families, couples and small groups the café was buzzing on a Sunday. After drooling over the Nutella cream and raspberry donuts in the cabinet we grabbed the last table available. The modern décor and neutral colour palate gave the café a fresh and welcoming vibe. The breakfast menu is simple with well-known classics. The lunch menu has some more interesting options which are sure to please most appetites – pork belly, crumbed market fish, grilled lamb loin to name a few! <br/> <br/>We ordered the Ginger fried tofu and the Star anise chicken thighs. The tofu was beautifully presented and a decent portion. The tofu was crisp and worked well with the edamame, pickled ginger, rice bubbles and rice. Got to love those lotus chips too! The chicken was really tasty and cooked to perfection – tender and juicy. Served with flat rice noodles, red capsicum, cabbage and bean sprouts, it was a great healthier style lunch.<br/> <br/>Shout out to Olive, the quirky blonde who took care of us during our visit and for her recommendations. Will be back soon to try the coconut pancakes!

Lovely food and such a transformation for the upstairs of Royal Oak mall. Very friendly to the kids too. The portion is quite big though. I had the big breakfast and it was nice to have a good balance of veggies and meat.
Anna
Great array of counter food, lovely coffee. Brunch off the menus was really good and staff were fab! Nice space, large clean and airy. Fun to look over the mall below 😊

Simple looking menu but unexpected flavors! The chicken brioche sandwich & raw raspberry coconut slice is good..it was a tea time splurge but I enjoyed it. Can't make it a habit unfortunately :( The staff members are really friendly and chatty 😊
Chuchueats
Got the good old poached eggs on toast, one of them was overcooked, and the other was cooked to perfection! Loved the hashbrowns and bacon! They were delish, just a bit let down by the eggs! Otherwise would highly recommend! The ginger soy latte was amazing! Cheers guys

Came on a not so busy day (I've walked past on the weekend and it was packed!). Nice spot and pretty pleased with the food. <br/><br/>Not sure I'm in love with the hollandaise sauce, it's not bad but I just prefer the "normal" (if you can call it that) one. Otherwise price point and serving sizes were pretty decent. <br/><br/>Would I come back? Most likely, good location, plenty of space and enjoyed the presentation of the food!
Anna Molly
Just what Royal Oak needed, really. <br/><br/>Oak Eatery just opened a few weeks ago, I popped in for coffee a handful of times over the past week and wasn't disappointed. <br/>Today I dined in and the boy and I sampled the creamy mushrooms and omelette respectively. <br/>The food was presently beautifully and had a great palette of flavours. Typical brunch fare with a more interesting twist. <br/><br/>The coffee here has been solidly good, although I can't vouch for those milk-inclined, the espresso is good. Staff are tentative, genuine and friendly. <br/>Thanks team! <br/><br/>
