Review Soul Sushi Newmarket - Auckland Central

Soul Sushi in Newmarket is a gorgeous sushi bar to visit for a quick lunch. The cafe is very stylish looking with ample seating inside and outside. I tried some items from the cabinet of salmon nigiri, rolled sushi varieties and octopus balls and the food was lovely.

Awesome Spicy Chicken Don special. If you are looking for a fantastic sushi lunch this is the place to try. I little bit off the shopping area but definitely worth the walk. If youcate on Carlton Gore road this os a must try!

What a great find! Great selection of pre-made sushi and deep fried Japanese snacks. I love the interior. Would go back again for another try!

Awesome Donburi! The place feels comfortable and the food just taste awesome. I have been ordering Chasu Don all the time! The price is quite expensive for a lunch meal so I go here once a week only.

The food is a step up from other Japanese restaurants in the same area. There is a selection be of sushi, hot treats and a menu. The Chicken Katsu Don is my fave, but other items are also delish. Service is great.

Very nice and authentic Japanese food. Great service from all staff. Highly recommended. Get much better quality Japanese food with slightly higher price. Good portion.

Great lunch venue with daily special on different rice bowls, super busy during lunch. Avoid the queue and go early before 12pm or after 1.30pm

One of the best places for Japanese work during lunch hours, has a daily special and it's like $12 for a hearty meal

Went to get some noodles, they forgot my order, but made an apology with full refund and still served me the noodles. Thank you, it was a great gesture.

Please come back I miss you daily specials and sushi. The other local sushi shops come no where near to the quality you guys provided....

Often has special deals. Upscale sushi - much more upmarket than somewhere like St Pierre's
Karin Curran
Nice selection of premade sushi and similar plus hot meals.

Had the Teriyaki Chicken Donburi from Milford. Rice with lots of fresh vegetables topped with tender chicken and a poached egg. Yum and all for $10 on special before 7.45pm. Can recommend - this will be my new takeaway place on Friday nights.

Enjoyed the Best sushi I've eaten at the Milford store, free miso soup to boot

Dropped by lunch and found that the sushi quality were not good. They were dry and badly decorated. Will not go back again even closed to my work place.

rating for reducing sushi sizes by 30%-alot smaller and charging full price. Good sushi but alot smaller, probably would only go there for convenience or try some where else

Best place to get lunch if you work around new market . They have a daily special for 12 bucks. Tasty and affordable where the service is good as well :)<br/><br/>Would recommend coming early as it can get pretty crowded after 12.30<br/>

Working lunch with colleagues here. Korean staff operates the shop. The environment is contemporary and relaxed. The sushi choice and fried food quite variety over there. The price range starting 1.30-3.5 or more. They also offer lunch set promo. During lunch time, it can be quite crowded and recommend to come early to avoid waiting for the order. Nice place to grab quick lunch.

Had a quick lunch at Soul Sushi with a work colleague. I tried the tuna mayo sushi (it was tasty but not outstanding) and Udon Teriyaki Chicken (average and not many noodles).<br/><br/>If you want a table you have to get in early as they are taken by 12.30. Also the tables we were on was fairly sticky which suggests that they aren’t cleaned during the rush hour.<br/><br/>I don’t think I will be back.

I'm not sure about the other dishes but the Chicken Teriyaki is pretty decent here. The prices are also very reasonable. The only drawback is that a lot of people are walking past / lining up if you're seated inside, making conversation a bit less private than you'd like.

The sushi and rolls were average. However I did really enjoy the prawn bar and takoyaki. I reckon the price was a bit steep though for the food.

I love eating at places that have a lot to look at! It really adds to the dinning experience! So creative with the pages of manga! <br/><br/>The food was good! I got off the cabinet sushi it was quite fresh! My friend got the teriyaki noodle soup (which I ate most of) That was delicious! The chicken was super tender and the soup just made my stomach feel all warm and fuzzy lol <br/><br/>Definitely heading here again!

No chicken in my teriyaki chicken ramen :(<br/><br/>It's the first time I tried this place and wanted to play it safe but the ramen was disappointing and mushrooms were sweet for some reason but could not find any chicken whatsoever.

Soul Sushi has my vote for best Karaage chicken! Yumm! Can’t get enough of the wasabi mayo too. Always busy at lunchtime, a good sign, but they clear orders quickly, great friendly staff.

This is one of my local sushi places, but considering I don't like sushi it was odd I ended up here.<br/>Anyway this place always seems to be really busy. I think it's best to get in early like 12PM so you can get the pick of the bunch.<br/>The cabinet food always looks amazing , bonus that its is decently priced as well.<br/>For lunch I tried a chicken summer roll which was just under $3. This was very light and fresh. I also got a little chicken kastu with rice this was equally yummy.<br/>Overall the food was really awesome, will definitely be returning to try some other items.

Slimy I am still learning new Zaland English words like brow and sweeet, so please forgiveness cry. Since moving to my house to Newmarket near ther job, I like to out and with my good friend Santhosh. For sad Santhosh was at house this day with ear painings so I took a walking to Soul Sushi.. SURPRISE! I love this food, the noodle and chiken are excellent..and have some smoke wood chips. I will rerun to this place for more soshi….on Wednesday so have good special please for me $11/ I needed lower score mark as also think thatthis music is not soul…it was Katty Perry and more. Soul is like Barry White or The Pasadenas or SOULja. Perhaps shop name can be Water Pop Soshi hahaha.<br/><br/>Just help and enjoy!

Not your normal sushi place, but with 3 others to choose from on Carlton Gore rd they have to be.<br/>Their hot bowls are popular with the chicken Katsu being good.<br/><br/>A little more pricey for sushi but way more interesting than normal places.<br/><br/>They also have a reward card which helps... eat here 10 times and get $10 off!

I like Soul Sushi because it’s cheaper than &Sushi but more premium than what you get at the mall.<br/><br/>Great range of sushi with friendly people, nice vibes, and lots of space – this is a nice place to relax in while you fill up on sushi.<br/><br/>Would be happy to come back and try out more from their menu.

I heard there is new sushi shop in Newmarket so I came here for my lunch. It was really great experience for me. Their sushi looks yummy, really well made and taste is good as well. I really enjoyed their Bulgogi sushi which is made with Inari. Also I like their shop's interior and atmosphere. It is modern style different from other sushi shops. Also staffs are very kind and friendly. I will visit here again definitely to have great food. Thanks guys nice jobs.

Yet Another new sushi joint popped up here in the sushi capital of Numarket, NZ.. located in a former wine store on Carlton Gore road, i had the pineapple/creme cheese and salmon sushis and deep fry crab claw skewers as shown in my pic. <br/>Nice pricing n premises too, a lot of marketing needed if located on this side of Newmarket..

Went there to try it last Sunday for lunch. Good decor- and some interesting looking options available. I tried the chicken kebab the gyoza (they were green coloured on the outside) the caramelised salmon and the prawn roll. The gyoza were my favorite- the rest was average. Cons: rice portion of the sushi was cold (did they use leftover rice from the fridge because it was Sunday??), and the prawn tasted fishy (might sound odd to some people- but some of you will know what I mean). The price of this sushi wasnt really worth it- I will go back to Tokyo sushi now.
