The food was good, affordable and very filling. The staff was nice and friendly.

Lovely female staff friendly. Very tight and hip store. Good food as always

Liked your vegan option. Tasty and colorful. Warm staff. Keep it up!!

Very clean and tidy, friendly staff and delicious food. Really impressed that everything on their menu can be made vegetarian or vegan on request. Also liked that they used biodegradable packaging instead of plastic.

Not sure what was here before Zambrero, seems like every time I walk down Elliot St some new place is there and a couple of old ones are gone. Of course pleasantly surprised that a funky Mexican place has managed to sneak in, and I remember these guys from Britomart or somewhere. They are a fresher version of Mexicali done right and all the menu options looked good. I went for the healthy bowl and even though the chicken mixture looked odd, the whole ensemble was delicious. Def great quick lunch spot for us roving hungry amateur diners.

I go here at least once a week for their nachos, am obsessed with it. Best nachos in Auckland as far as am concerned. I really haven’t tried other things on the menu but I once tried their burrito and I wasn’t really a fan.

Food excellent, service great too, only improvement thats springs to mind is they should have better stock control on the drinks now and again they run out of some of them. however I highly recommend these guys!

Their lime and coriander sauce was delicious, but they need to get better beverage options such as Phoenix 0 Cola or Stivia Coke.

Great service. The lady that served us was friendly and patient. Would come back again when back in Auckland. Great food too.

We've been in Zambrero many times and we love it. It's relatively cheap and very tasty.

Love this place! Friendly stuff, a little slow service, but delicious food!

Tasty and fresh. Good place for a quick fresh lunch. Staff also friendly.

Best vegan burritos in Auckland!

The ever faithful lunch burrito will satisfy your hunger pangs. Been to this spot too many times to count over the years. The lamb burrito was always my go to and they are surprisingly large. Guac is a must.

Only came here because there was a buy one get one free deal. It was absolutely delicious and the service size was big. Service was great and quick. The only negative about the place is the price. I wouldn’t pay full price for what I ate despite it being good. Way too expensive.
Hope 🥰
DELICIOUS!!! Love the burritos so so much! Burritos contain so much variety e.g corn, rice, meat, sauce, salsa, onion, coriander 🤤 Defs will go back however pricing is not cheap.

Salads are really good but found this place extremely expensive. Wouldn't go again but you can definitely try it out for the first time. Cheers!

My go to healthy place. I have been going here for the past year and it never failed me. Service-wise depends on who is at the counter but overall good. I always get the lamb classic bowl and I love it. This is still better than Pita Pit so I hope I see Zambrero more outside the city.

Zambrero had fast become a favourite lunch break destination for myself and my workmates due to the generous portions, the (once) vibrant atmosphere and ethical endeavours. Zambrero is a fresh spin on the old Cali burrito craze, but manages to improve on those familiar themes. I often opt for the quesadillas with tangy verde sauce, but the burritos and salad bowls are also great. In addition to being tasty, many of the menu items are part of a 'Plate 4 Plate' initiative where each purchase also donates a plate of food to a child in need.<br/><br/>Unfortunately, since coming under new management, the service here has become absolutely dreadful. One day I went in to order and could hear staff laughing and watching videos out back while people were waiting in line for service. I had to call out for assistance to get their attention so that one staff member came out to start making orders. She was followed by another staff member who leant on the counter and continued watching her video while laughing obnoxiously and ignoring customers. The food is still alright but I never stay longer than is strictly necessary because the whole atmosphere of the place is dreadful.

Was looking for a quick dinner. I have been here twice <br/>the first time I ordered a burrito which was underwhelming mostly<br/>due to the lack of spice/anything interesting and the second time<br/>I ordered nacho's also underwhelmed. Food was the lower end <br/>of mildly good, wasn't particulary cheap for mexican either.

Competitively priced Mexican fast food place with fresh ingredients. Tried their Power Bowl with extra avocado and it was really filling and tasty and healthy. Next time around I wouldn't add the avocado as you get a very small dollop for extra $2. Otherwise totally worth a visit.

I usually love Zambrero but my last visit to this store was a completely different experience when I ordered nachos. First of all I was kept waiting because all staff were out the back out of sight.<br/><br/>I asked for all sides except jalapenos, as I always do and was told I could have either corn or onion salsa free but would need to pay for the other. This has never happened before.<br/><br/>I then asked for lettuce to be added, again as I have had before, the staff member said no and walked away. I also only received a tiny amount of avocado, which is disappointing when purchasing one of the higher priced menu items that comes with avocado.<br/><br/>The staff member was extremely rude and didn't care about customer service. I don't know if this store is particularly tight with their ingredients and portions or if it is a new company policy but it made for a miserable experience and it is pointless arguing over a sprinkling of onion.<br/> <br/><br/>I contacted Zambrero and they promptly put me onto the store manager. She was very proactive, I met with her today and she confirmed that the service I got was not company policy. I was provided with two vouchers, I appreciate the prompt response from Zambrero and the store.

Finally made it to this place after recommendations... Delish Black Rice bowl which they even did half serve of the black rice as I'm trying to keep it low carb!(now that's service)<br/>Had it with the Chicken adobo which I fell in love with... Reminiscent of the real thing from the Philippines! Great healthy and tasty meal! Wish we had one in Newmarket!

Amazing tacos!!!! From the crunch to the meat it was perfect! Highly recommend getting two sauces as the garlic and basilio go very well together. I've been several times since.

This was our first time, whilst the service leaves a lot to be desired, I can't fault their food. It's quite a standard looking meal. So don't expect a fancy restaurant set up. I was really happy with the 3 meals we tried. Great having a late lunch that was packed with delicious and exciting flavours. It's what I'd expect actual Mexican food tastes like.

Had grumblings about the portion of beans & guac in my bowl until learning that Zambrero is like the Toms of fast food eateries. <br/>Like the shoe company, Zambrero donates a portion of its profits to humanitarian projects. <br/>Zambrero serves fast Mexican food with a humanitarian bent. The founder, who sounds like an incredible guy, has set up aid projects in Sri Lanka and is also a qualified medical professional. NBD. <br/>Maybe that's why the food is quite health-conscious and has a Desi touch. <br/>'Super food' grains like amaranth and black rice are on offer. And the Secret BBQ sauce tastes like a deliciously tangy, spicy, South Asian chutney. <br/>I felt really good eating this lunch -reminded me that complaining how little guac there is in my burrito bowl is a #firstworldproblem.

A friend brought me here for lunch, and it was a neat twist on fast food. It's a bit like subway, but a tex-mex version of it. I got a small burrito (which has a proper name but I can't remember it exactly) with beef in it. I liked being able to customise it to my specifications, and the additions of guacamole and salsa was delicious. I accidentally managed to pick the hottest sauce, but powered through and it was yum!

Came with a few friends for lunch on Sunday after all the other healthy options we initially went to were closed that day. But we were pleasantly surprised with the quality of food and service here. The staff tried very hard to accommodate for my friend who is vegan and doesn't like onions. After she found out he didn't want guacamole she offered him plain avocado. I have been to a few Mexican places in town but Zambrero is reasonably priced and the options are quite broad and look quite healthy. Would recommend.

I would say that Zambrero has some of the best burritos in Auckland, price wise and taste wise. Not only that, but the staff are very friendly and charismatic which is a definite plus! I go here at least once a week and it's guilt free because every meal I purchase helps someone in need!

I love Zambrero. Their food make what I would consider the healthiest Mexican food in NZ. They use fresh ingredients daily and make your burrito to serve. The quality of their food is to the highest standard where you get to customise your meal. <br/>I come here so often that I've tried everything and know what I prefer best on the menu, but everything is great.<br/>The staff are friendly and charismatic, making conversation with me when they really don't have to. They're so engaging and efficient.<br/>I always order either the Burrito or Burrito Bowl with pulled pork, all the salad, sour cream and guacamole; with Red Chilli and Chipotle Sauce. Their burritos are warm, juicy, flavoursome and just make me so happy.<br/>You get so much value for money and their have a great CSR system with money going to feed children in developing countries from every purchase. <br/>The atmosphere is so chill and urban here.

I had their pork burrito before. Their pork was juice and tasty. Tasted fresh.<br/>As the size of the burrito was so big, I ordered the lamb burrito bowl. The braised lamb was nice and the salad was as fresh as always.<br/>Zambrero probably is the best burrito I have in Auckland. <br/>The price is reasonable, cheaper than other burrito/ Mexican chains.

Friendly service. Food portions are decent and the seating area is clean and spacious. Nachos seemed to be quite popular and definitely one of the places that do cheaper mexican food. Would go there again.

Who knew Mexican food could be healthy? With three branches in the Auckland CBD – Karangahape Road, Elliott Street and Durham Street West, Zambrero is on a mission to change Mexican fast food, one plate at a time...<br/><br/>...by serving Mexican with a healthier, fresher twist. I have found their entire range of slow-cooked meat fillings to be tasty (yes, I have been here a few times now). I will complain about the small portions though – a burrito bowl is basically greens with a morsel of meat and some rice. Their burritos are much more filling. The interior is quite nice and the staff is super friendly.<br/><br/>Like any other place in the city, the Guacamole is $2 extra. I swear one of these days I am going to open a restaurant that sells curry and charge people extra for the rice...

Was disappointed by the taste of chicken in their burritos which taste more Indian rather than Mexican .the meat portions are small and after finishing a chicken burrito I was still hungry.wouldnot recommend .

the burritos were amazing and I am definitely going back there. <br/>Staff were super nice and helpful.<br/>It is a bit on the pricey side so you wouldn't have it every day.<br/>I really like that this is a business with a conscience.<br/>I highly recommend the burritos they are just delicious<br/><br/>Update - I took a friend here on Sunday, after months of talking it up about how amazing the burritos were. Murphy's law I guess, it was the worst I have ever had from there. Perhaps they have different staff on during weeks I don't know but I was very disappointed (and a little embarrassed after constantly gushing over zambrero in the past)<br/><br/>I have according changed my review from a 5 to a 4
Lucy
Nice burritos! Fresh ingridience, full of spicies, tortilla is so soft, chicken is so yum. they are much better than other mexicans i would say.
