Great food and good price. The food are tasty. The staff is very kind. Here has low carbs option(salad instead of rice), it's really amazing.

I was a little skeptical going in but his place is amazing! Super fast service and excellent food. Will be back for sure.

The Eat Box was great for its price. We got uncut rolls for $4.50, which while heavy on the rice was delicious. While I’ve eaten better sushi, I don’t think I’ve ever had such good sushi at such a low price.

Lovely smiley lady’s. I love the teriyaki tofu don, I often come here for lunch because my University is just up the road, at peak lunch time it’s not busy as most people get it to-go and they make it fast! Great service and a great price for yummy food!

So glad I stumbled across this place. Lots of vegetarian options, the staff were so friendly and helpful. The food is quick, fresh and SO delicious. Easily one of the best meals I've had in NZ

I've been coming to Eat Box regularly since I moved to Auckland from Whangarei whenever I've craved good quality, cheap donburi. And they've always delivered! Lovely, friendly staff, awesome variety and freshness. Only criticism is lately I've noticed a little bit of a drop in quality, and the presentation aspect has suffered since too.

I have a lunch here once every two week. You can grab prepared meal such as sushi and rice ball. If you don't have much time, I recommend it. Also, you can order fresh cooked meal at the counter and it's absolutely delicious. You can eat in or take away.

Best tofu in Auckland. This is my regular lunch spot as the food is so affordable and delicious, with friendly service every time. Couldn’t recommend more

Amazing Korean restaurant. The place is quite small but most of the time customers do take away so not really crowded inside. Nice service, good taste, and fair price.

Delicious and keeps me satisfied all day!!!!! Awesome and lovely service. Kind gentle and nice owners.

Been here since I was in uni and do love their donburi and sushi. Staff and the boss were very nice and food was super good!

Fast and friendly service, environment is okay, shop is clean, both times I had my meal inside and both times I ordered udon, delicious food, good portion and reasonable pricing.

Honestly have no idea why they have such a low rating but the staff are fast, very friendly and respectful, the food tastes really freaking good. Their teriyaki chicken, their teriyaki sushi-sandwiches are to DIE for, the prices are vert reasonable (You can get full within $10-excluding sushis) l, their udons are sooo good, their ramen is alright but i am an avid ramen eater soo🤷🏽‍♀️. 5/5 stars for great service, for great good and good prices!

i always come here so it’s a regular thing now.

I have yet to go in person, but would like to at some point. I have just ordered off of Uber Eats several times and it was really, seriously good. As an on again off again vegan (otherwise vegetarian) I have ordered the teriyaki tofu don and also the curry with the teriyaki tofu as well. Really great flavours and really hits the Japanese food spot, I’d like to especially praise the curry. I visited Japan a while ago and ate the vegetarian curry at CoCo Ichibanya and since then I have always been craving it but was sad I couldn’t eat it here. Then I tried the curry from Eat Box, and it was almost as nice. Not quite the same, but it was still really good. I definitely recommend this place if you would like to eat some good vegetarian/vegan Japanese food, idk about the meat but I presume that it would be good as well considering how good the tofu dishes are.

Very good food at a reasonable price. I ordered the vegetarian tereyaki tofu and was very happy with my meal. It tasted fresh, had just the right amount of flavour and salad in it. I gave this place five stars because it hits the food quality, price and cleanliness trifactor! I look forward to trying the other vegetarian options on the menu.

This place is narrow but there’s seating etc. The food here is delicious, very efficient. Staff here are friendly and prompt. Price is standard and everything looks amazing and fresh.

Friendly customer service, service is quick, first time eating here and I order the undon noddle soup for $9.5 soup is fresh and satisfying to eat when your sick 😓 would recommend 😊

Had the chicken teriyaki eatbox with a salad base. The chicken was cooked nice and tender, the sauce was flavoursome. The salad was fresh and crispy and was already a tasty meal. The price at I think $9.90 was decent although the portioning was a bit on the smaller size. Service was super friendly and took about 5 minutes to prepare my order.

We had the teriyaki tofu don and udon noodle soup. They were north extremely good for the price $7.90 & $9.50. I've paid a lot more for worse food elsewhere. Extremely happy with our lunch. Thank you Eat Box!

You know how you used to have donburi with wilting veges, semi-hard rice and like three pieces of meat? Holy **** lol this place actually has FRESH RICE, CRISPY SALAD with ENOUGH SAUCE on it, curry that actually has something in it (veges) besides sauce and ****LOADS OF MEAT and miso soup hotter than I'll ever be lol if you look at my past reviews you might think I'm gordon ramsay or something cause I'm pretty stingy with my ratings but seriously just try this place out - my chicken katsu curry donburi was only freaking 12.90 and they almost popped the button on my jeans, the portion size is huge. Oh and the people are so friendly it's like hakuna matata in there. Must try guys

Had a lovely lunch here, very reasonably priced and healthy. I ordered the chicken fried noodle Donburi, would order this next time but there's also so much else that looks great and would love to try.

Really good food here. Packed sushi's are a little expensive but the 'eat box' is great. Ranges from $8 to $13, it's a good cheap eats option in the city. If you are coming here, get a takeaway as there is limited space for eating in.

Student friendly, small prices for huge amounts of food!

I always get the tofu eat box. The tofu is incredibly delicious, the right about of softness and a crisp light layer of batter covered in a perfect teriyaki sauce and sesame seeds. You can also choose between brown rice or udon/ramen noodles for only 1 dollar extra. Despite that, it's only 8 dollars for a huge meal. In comparison to other chain Japanese stores such as St Pierres where 8 dollars gets you a small chicken teriyaki, this place is a must go.

It's small and narrow, but it makes up for it in its friendly staff and food.

Located on Queen Street, this Japanese& Sushi restaurant has a wide variety to offer.

Tried the Teriyaki chicken box with rice and seasonal salad. Good quality and quantity food, equals to one meal.

This place has both dine in and take away options.

Pocket friendly for students.

Suggestion to the management: should hire more staff for speedy services

Had the spicy BBQ pork, it is really good. A fresh salad, rice and a tasty meat dish. The service is fast and friendly, I will definitely be coming back here again

Although there is a narrow, small store, the Tofu bon is so delicious and cheap ($7). I think it's enough for a girl. The clerks all Korean girl with big smile and they always enthusiasm. Good place to have simple lunch

The best Teriyaki Chicken I´ve ever had and for a good price. The restaurant was clean and service was fast. Waiter could smile more but everything alse was ok so I was happy. If I had a chance, I would go there again.
I recommend this place if you want to eat quickly, well and for a good price.

Such a cute place and good location.
I had my dinner around 7ish.
Was not expecting any good customer service.
I order a chiken katsu and I tell you what.it was a best I had so far.
They made it ready In 7min and food was delicious.
I would definitely go back here.
From the outside this place looks like it has some potential, but the long narrow layout with lack of food options (I was a tad after lunch admittedly) give off the wrong vibe. They have some nice looking dishes and the staff are the saving grace being very convivial but this is more a place to reset your dining experience barometer and make you appreciate your usual goto dining spot.

A descent amount of spicy chicken in this box, with the udon noodles. All well cooked. It was a quick easy grab for lunch while i was in the vicinity. A decent serving size too but you can probably get others like this at a better price. It was overall just “okay”.

A interesting take on Japanese/Asian style take out; I like the concept of the little boxes they use, definitely adds some appeal. The prices are reasonable and there's quite a selection of different meats and flavours to pick from. The meat to carb ratio isn't bad, and it definitely fills you up. Good for an affordable on-the-go/in-a-rush kind of meal. I do find they're plastic displays of their dishes weirdly creepy but kind of cool at the same time..
Manu
Quick and affordable. Was full from the teriyaki chicken box and it was a good kind of full. The server is always helpful and very friendly. I tried it for the first time yesterday and got it again today. I'm satisfied with my box and the food overall.

This place is quite quiet compared to the other food joints on that side of the road. The food was alright but not really too fond of it as the meat is sometimes already ready to be served. I get they want to do faster service to serve more customers but then again, some people prefer freshly cooked meat rather than a heated one. The place is quite cute and quirky with seats shaped like the box they serve the food in. The serving is quite small for the price that they put it as. Overall, would come to this another time, but not now...

Best place ever! When I lived in auckland last year I stumbled upon this place with a mate and it was so good. Actually dont know what these other reviews are on about ay. It's cheap, healthy, convenient and the lady behind the counter was awesome! Totally forgot about the place until like 20 minutes ago my mate reminded me about it, and now that I live in Wellington, furiously searched the net to see if there was one in Wellington city. Please make a store in Wellington! There's heaps more students and I'm sure it would appeal to them. 10/10 would recommend to my mates
This place is a funky little place in the heart of QUeen street. The noodle box design is quite cool and the customer service was good! However...although most of the menu is below $10, the food lacked any real flavour. Kind of felt like a few sauces and veges were thrown into one without any real fusion. However, it isn't overly too bad and so would recommend for a late night snack! Try their chicken Karage and spicy pork eat box!!

Not the best as a lot of things are pre prepared. Ok location and atmosphere but don't rate the food. Shame they seem to be the quietest on the strip so I wish I could give some nicer feedback.

I opted for a chicken katsu on rice and salad, and while it is cheap for under $10 I think the portions are a bit small. The packaging is cute, and I definitely found it very easy to carry for on the go, but it didn't feel filling despite the box reasonably filled (with about a 3cm gap to spare).

The food is in layers, like a lot of these boxed meals, with veges on the top, meat in between, and rice at the very bottom soaking all the juices. The salad was mediocre, with a very tangy dressing that was only saved by copious mouthfuls of the rice. The katsu wasn't crispy, so that was disappointing as well, but I suppose you get what you pay for.

I would recommend Eatbox for a quick bite of cooked food on the run in the area, but not for much else.
Annette Wong
Nice concept but the quality of food was dissapointing. I ordered a chicken teriyaki salad and the veges were dead. The meat was not cooked properly and it just tasted like salt. Not fresh or healthy like it claims to be. Very disappointing even for a cheap eat

I have been to eat box countless times this year, as it is conveniently located right next to my university. 99% of the time it has been absolutely delicious and really good food. I always get exactly what I was expecting. (I usually just get the Terakyi chicken on rice) One time the chicken tasted a little bit off, but every other time it was good.
Price is very reasonable. Although it used to be $6.99 on the sign but they would still charge $7 on eftpos but hey its only 1 cent, and now they have changed the signage to the correct price.
Overall i would highly reccomend eat box, it is good
Enjoy
Always
Tasty

Ordered teriyaki chicken, topped with salad dressing of my choice. Fusion twist on it's taste. Taste okay. Food is served in a well- designed box.

I just ate instanoodles with flattened chicken which resembled roadkill.

The only redeeming feature was that it came in a nice box, which was only half full by the way.

Next time get 12 churros for the same price.
