Found this takeaway hidden in a carpark by countdown. Had fish, chips, mussel, and squid ring. Simply the best! Fish was a large piece, very thick. Chips were cooked perfectly. All the food was well strained, the wrapper was not greasy. Will be back again.

I had lovely order of fish and chips and Oysters. The fish was snapper and tasted very fresh. I was served by two attractive and very polite Asian women (perhaps mother and daughter). It was just on closing time Saturday night so I was lucky to get my order in. I would rate this fish and chip takeaways the best in Howick.

Love their takeaways when I'm on their side of town. Oil is clean tasting, very popular with the locals, sometimes might find a long waiting time. Try them out you won't be disappointed then wander down to the local beach and enjoy !!!

They took so much pride in their food. My husband was 30 minutes late picking up our fish and chips. They insisted re frying our order so it was all hot and crispy.

I have removed my 1 star review from about a year ago, as I just visited this place again for a cheeky chippy for lunch. I decided to give them one more shot to see if things had improved, plus it was super convenient as I now live just round the corner :) Well, things have improved 100%. I was surprised at how much different it was this time. Nice portions, and crispy batter on the fish. It was in fact, a real treat this time. They have also updated the shop, so not sure if they're new owners, or just done an upgrade, but it's really well done now. So, yes; A marked improvement from last time!

We have been to Fast Eddies several times for Fish and Chips. The last couple times we were really dissapointed, especially with the fish. Moreover, the behaviour of the people behind the counter gave us really the impression that they rather don't have any customers. The lady taking our order didn't great us and was very impatient (and no, there was not a whole bunch of people waiting in line). Now we have changed to the Real Catch, a little bit of a drive but definitely worth it.

Chips tasted fine. Unfortunately the fish was very dry and over cooked. The real downfall was the headache I got straight after eating. The sort of headache you get after eating powered packed soup (if you have a sensitivity to that kind of food). I'm not eating fish and chips to be healthy, but getting headaches after eating it shouldn't be expected.

We ordered a special deal of 2 fish, 2 potato fritter and 2 chips and the mussels deal of 12. Batter was light and crispy, fish was fresh and generous portion. Mussels were fresh and large size. Very delicious fish and chips, lightly salted. The only down side is quite a pool of oil very much visible at the bottom of the food. We read the menu from several sources online and all had mussel deal $12 for 12. The young girl took our order over the phone, confirmed the price after she checked it with someone. But when we went to picked up the food, the lady gave us a different price, she then talked to another man in Chinese and both of them walked away, left with the child to explain the situation to us. We don’t mind the extra $3 and not wanting to get the child in trouble. But did not enjoy the unsupportive scene.

So my mum found this place as she didn't want to fry fish at home. She took her own batter and bought the fish, so they can fry. Quick service and if you don't like the fishy smell at your home, try this place.

Eddie seems to be slowing down a bit aye. Waited 25 mins for soggy chips and soggy fish, please rename to white water world. Go to the count down and buy some frozen chips and microwave them for a better experience. Chur

Had some fresh snapper and some chips for dinner, the chips were crispy as. When they say their fish is fresh, its legit fresh; you can even see for yourself. The shop itself is kept clean and tidy which was great. I would totally recommend it 😊

A few years ago this place, under the old owner, used to be brilliant and won awards. Now it is in my opinion a DISASTER. Soggy batter on the fish and using ready made McCains Chips which were under cooked and both watery and tasteless. I think the old awards boards are still left up but this place has steadily gone downhill. I also ordered 6 prawn cutlets and on placing them on the plate found the breadcrumbs were burnt. I usually do my own Fish and Chips but an occassional treat is nice but NO LONGER WILL I USE FAST EDDIES in Howick.

We normally order our fish n chips from Howick East take Aways, so when they were closed, we ordered from Fast Eddies. The chips were burnt and the wan tongs were so small, tasteless and burnt we ended up chucking them. The hot dogs were plastic flavor and also burnt. Very disappointing. We thought it was a one off until we ordered again as our regular one was closed over the Christmas break. Again, everything was over cooked and looked disgusting. Waste of dinner and our money. Never going back! How they keep open is beyond me.

Such a solid takeaway place for a good ol foray into the greasy fish and chips scene. They offer some pretty good set deals as most takeaways do but I think the quality of the fish is a better. Definitely love coming to this place

Portion size enough to fill a fish, a small fish, which is ironic because I had fish, which was small (and not very tasty). Don't recommend, will never come again.
