Review Nana Thai - Auckland Central

Love this place so much. The food here is amazing , the service people are kind and speedy and the vibe of the whole place is authentic and homey. We came here for a big dinner and got the raw king prawn, oysters, duck in love curry( that comes in a duck bowl!!) and this pork dish. While the oysters were a bit mid, the other three dishes were literally the best things on earth. All of them had the best flavours and presentation was beautiful!! The dessert menu also looked very enticing and is my must try next time i go. Overall if you want the best dining experience come here !!

Its amazing that this gem was so close to my house and i havent heard of it . Anyone who rated this place less than 5 dosent deserve to be served or go to any place other than their homes. Everything about this place is amazing We went to nana thai and had no booking. The lady came from reception and requested us to wait for 20 mins the whole restaurant was packed ( at least 150 people) . I was amazed to see how efficient the staff members were . They were calm, polite and were looking after every single customer. It was just WOW to see the whole flow of service . In less than 10 mins we got the table and a lovely lady called jib or gib came and helped us with our food order also suggested few things to try as well . We had papaya salad , chicken bomb and naughty chicken and I must say that it was amazing every bite was just wow man!!! My papaya salad was hot as fire my whole mouth was burning like anything. I was taking a break from food meanwhile a lovely guy came to our table and asked us if we would like to change the main food heat level and guess what they did it to suite our taste. I mean the level of personal level service is just out of the world . YOU HAVE TO TRY THIS PLACE IF YOU LOVE THAI FOOD AND MAKE SURE YOU BOOK THE TABLE !!! Thank you all for lovely experience .

One of the best Thai restaurants! Haven’t seen any Thai buffets in Auckland and here is the one. Fried fish is absolutely delicious.

I was invited to my father's 75th birthday there. It was a great venue. The food was great.

Came here with my wife last Saturday night and I must say, this is definitely one of the top 3 Thai restaurants I have ever tried in Auckland. I went to Thailand 3 years ago and Na Na Thai's food is really authentic, which reminded me of the time I was in Thailand. My wife really loved the raw prawns and the crabs were also amazing. After finishing our meal at a restaurant, I always ask my wife if she wants to try it again. Na Na Thai is definitely the one we will visit more often in the future. Good job, guys!

We had lovely buffet on Sunday. Thank you for your amazing hospitality. Food was delicious, cocktails were yummy 😋
Barbora Pěluchová
Busy restaurant with tastily meals. Green vegetarian curry was really good! We also tried some non alcoholic cocktails - interesting flavours and nice decorating.

The buffet lunch is very affordable, but the variety of dishes isn't extensive. The taste is quite good though.

Fried Tofu with black pepper 🌶 is great. A must try. Naughty Chicken is another classy. Check out mybpics

The restaurant looks very NICE&NEW✨👍🏻 and the food was so delicious. THE BEST Thai food in Auckland😍 went to had dinner with my partner he loved the sauce cashew nuts so much will definitely go back again for his birthday :)

I used to visit Flatbush often before it closed down, so I was disappointed when it disappeared. Recently found out it had moved, and it's now become a regular spot for me. The restaurant is spacious, making it convenient for groups. The food is very well-prepared and delicious. However, with the entire space open, it can get quite noisy as more people come in, making conversations a bit challenging. The spiciness level can be adjusted to your preference, which is great. The staff is friendly, although there are occasional billing errors that need to be addressed. Overall, a great place to dine!

Fantastic Food and Service. P’Jo’ is amazing front of house taking care us very well. Authentic Thai test, well presented, come in good timing. Highly recommended friend and family to visit Nana Thai restaurant ❤️

Absolutely guaranteed perfection here! Food and cocktails were amazing and totally in line with $ around Auckland. Banquet A was the best value for money! It's the place you're dying to tell everyone to go to but then it becomes so popular, you can't get on for AGES! Do book a table and popularity means you may have to park up the road but this will only increase your appetite!

Place is busy but not crowded when we visit tonight. this new location is bigger than the previous one in Te Irirangi. Service is quick as well. The Hennessy deluxe and tropical treat is nice drinks, cocopine smoothie too sweet. Their Moo yang is a must try! 😋 others in our order is just.normal thai menu just like other Thai resto.

Took my homestay out to Na Na Thai restuarant for his birthday :) everyone loves it and enjoyed the food so much 😇

I have been to this restaurant many times. This restaurant is so busy but food always is fantastic. Very recommended if you want to celebrate with huge groups 😊 💗. Coz this place is pretty big.
Duncan Tang
Great food and drinks. Can get really busy so may pay to book beforehand

Very nice place. Food was great, no significant delays waiting for the food. Friendly service.
Elil G
Great food and fast service. Awesome customer service! Will definitely return for the friendly service.

Terrible service through level 3, didn’t take the phone order correct and really put a dampener on our night when they got the order wrong plus the food was below average have dined here many times before and quite disappointed
Jenny
Went at 12:45 and was charged the dinner prices. They said they charged us the dinner prices because they gave us more ?? But portion sizes looks to be the exact same as they give at lunch time

Decided to try this thai resturant out as I saw the reviews and it does not disappoint. I ordered the fried basket with chicken and vegetables and my partner ordered the pad thai. Both dishes were perfect, absolutely love the flavour. Customer service is quick. Definitely would recommend and I would love to go again

Highly recommended this thai restaurant. It is the best and the most delicious thai restaurant I had ever have. The taste of somtum made me feel like home.

Highly recommended Thai restaurant in Flat Bush! Strategically located in Te Irirangi Dr, the place also has heaps of car park in front of it. Love the friendly service we always have from all the staff, but most importantly their cooked food! So far I have tried the Panang Curry, Beef Salad on rice, Pad Thai - none of them disappointed me! For lunch menu, the food is served with side salad, plus extra crunchy spring rolls and the fish cake. Would love to come back again to try more!

My 1st visit knowing this restaurant exists. Warm welcome the moment we walked in. Had Tom Yum seafood & lemongrass steamed snapper. Staff will not push you to order more knowing there's only 2 of us. Ashamed that they don't serve Thai dessert.

Hungry Teddy (20% Zomato Gold, Use : HUNG2716)
Pretty good and not too expensive. Ordered two dishes and turned out pretty nice. Nothing special, but worth to try. Portion was smaller than expected.
Frances
Best Thai cuisine I’ve ever tried in eastern auckland
Candice Stewart
Classic thai favourite in the south of Auckland. Fast service and food is always tasty. Decently priced too.
Hoan
Nice local spot , couple of classic Thai food crowd pleasers on their menu. Can’t go wrong going here if you want a hard and fast Thai fix. 💯

Stir fried basil chicken is my favorite Thai cuisine, I usually will order this in all Thai restaurants I go. They have this course at an ok/average level. Chicken slices are big.... I do think small pieces are better for this course. The beef green curry was okay too, but didn’t expect that small. Staffs are nice.
Doreen Milo
Great service right from the time we entered to the time we left. They took good care of us especially when we were a large group of 40. The buffet lunch selection was perfect for its great price. However they need to update their price on Zomato as it is now $20.90 pp. Still a great price. Would definitely come back.

We were looked after and was served lyk we wanted... so nice service... thank u. We hv been to spices thai as well but ths is 10 times fresh authentic and yummier food... obv a lot depends on wht u order as i didnt try evrythng on menu...
Evaline Shandil
Food here is really delicious. I’ve been here twice now. Once for a lunch buffet which was great. For the amount you pay you get a lot of good dishes & they’re tasty.
The place looks clean & nice

The only fault is their staff. Most of the staff there have really bad attitude. It’s a shame because this place is really nice
FoodieBeast
Went here tonight with the family. Friendly staff, they were extremely playful with my niece.

The drinks too a while to come but the food and service was good.

Everything with a smile. Pic below is of the Lazy Prawns.

Staff is very polite and friendly! Service isn’t too bad either but my order for the vegetarian Pad Thai was okay, it was not the best. The place overall is very nice. Would recommend more for meat eaters, as not too many vegetarian or vegan options and place is more meat based.
Samuel
This place is a classic favourite for Thai food.

been going here for years and food is always good, service is fast and staff are pretty accommodating too. would not recommend sitting by the door though as the draft is quite bad but staff are always happy enough to re seat you
Nia Tupouniua
The actual restaurant itself is very cute. Went in for buffet lunch for a farewell and the staff were super friendly and attentive. Loved the food especially the banana fritters. Would definitely recommend to friends and family and would definitely go again for buffet lunch and for dinner would be nice.
Prashant Datt
This place used to be one of the best Thai places in Auckland. However it doesn’t seem to be the same these days.

Food is still good but the wow factor is missing now. Place still looks the same though which is nice!
Saasha
Still nice atmosphere and great place to catch up with family or friends . Food was nice but have had been better before... not sure if chef is different.
Flames And Skewers
Na Na Thai is a great place for people who want to try Thai food and have a sensitive palette. We tried drunken noodles, pad thai (obviously) and golden noodles. They were all amazing, I personally liked Golden noodles the most, they had a touch of crispiness to them, which made the experience outstanding.

The fried snapper is also worth a try on cheat days. It tastes amazing but cam be a bit overwhelming for some people.

The staff is very polite, friendly and accommodating. The hospitality will make you immediately comfortable and then there's an in house bar to help you with that, if need be.
Annabel Du
Everything was really great, it is definitely value for money.

Personally I found the dish country fish was a little bit over fried so the fish was dry, however my mum liked how dry it was so it really comes down to personal preference.
Prashant Gavri
Wonderful Thai food! The prawn cakes and satay sticks were truly exceptional. The naughty chicken for then mains was a thicker version of the red curry and tasted great.
Nancy Wijohn-Roberts
Came here for the buffet lunch now wish I hadn’t the setting is clean and beautiful but the dishes served for the buffet were warm tasteless and overly sweet however the dessert area did have fresh sliced fruit small banana fritters and another dessert which I didn’t try .the jug of water was nice and cold but be warned there is signage to remind you that you will be charged extra for any wastage of food on your plate
Danni Liang
love coming here for special occasions. Came here for my boyfriends birthday and food was lovely, except the naan bread was a bit more dry than usual. However none the less all the starters were great and main pad Thai was really delicious. Staff are always super friendly
Little Borneo Girl
A nice place for thai buffet lunch. Our regular hence no photos to show this time. We visited today for lunch. As usual, my favourites are the tom yum soup and fried chicken wings. I do not like their curries as they are too sweet and I don’t like bamboo shoots. Love the banana fritters (desert) too. A good place to catch up with friends over lunch.

I been to this place couples of times but i feel every time go there find something different in the food. Taste good but u can’t predict what u gonna get, curry pretty good to look but taste so plain and beef, pork nicely cook not recommended chicken dishes at this place as i always find it overcooked and hard to chew . Place is nice

Favorite go to place for occassions can't remember how many birthdays we have celebrated here. The people are awsome polite and very accommodating and the food it's just omg tasty delicious everything good names of food are catchy spicy girl is a family favorite with deep fried fish just yummy

This place captured my taste buds with their seafood tom yum - the best in Auckland for me! It is served with generous amount of squid, fish fillet, prawn and mushroom, and with the right degree of spicyness! To top it all, it remains hot for a while because of the tiny fire under the pot that burns for about 10 minutes once served.

Their sweet and sour fried snapper was also excellently cooked. The wait staff, meanwhile, embody the true Thai hospitality and politeness.

The only setback was their spring rolls, which had very thick wrappers and did not have much filling.
Gastrophilist
Service, ambience, and taste wise its perfect. Don't ask for Thai hot, it is really hot. Just hot will give perfect flavor. Try their stir fried options as almost all of them are awesome. Not a big fan of Thai curries as most have empowering coconut flavor.

Their buffet is fine but you can get better buffets in some other places for similar price. Also not many options for vegetarian people. Not quickly replenished as well during peak times.

Go for a la carte, it won't disappoint.
Kimi.marsters
Walked in with no reservation but was given a good table so customer service was good. Food was surprisingly fast but was taken back on how the food was hot and tasty. Will differently go back👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

Great place for dinner! Staff are absolutely lovely and very welcoming! Reccomend the A11 rock n rolls and the A12 prawn on bed for entrée. N1 pad tai is one of the best pad tai's I have had! Love the F7 Chicken cashew nuts but the F10 chicken pad prew wan is an absolute favourite! Decent size meals - never leave hungry!

This restaurant has a great atmosphere and surroundings, with attentive staff. Our meals were nice, if a little on the small side. We will probably be back again as it is a convenient location for us on the way home from a busy day out.
Lily
Lovely meal . Although my dinner tasted nice , there was not enough food and I was still a little hungry after the meal , the staff were nice and served our order about 15 minutes after we ordered even though it was quite popular that night , when I got my coke it was nice and cold and still fizzy . I will be back again.
Ambience: Quite dark unless you're sitting upfront by the window. The deco is quite dated and the material hanging from above looks dirty, dusty and some are ripped. Our plates were greasy and the menus were sticky and stuck together-same with the chairs.

Price: Way overpriced for dishes that don't even use fresh ingredients.

Food: Very dissapointing if you're after very authentic thai food (you're better of going to a food court). We ordered 2 entrees and 3 main. Sesame chicken was 4x small tasteless chicken covered in sesame..tender but bland with no seasoning and came with a watery dipping sauce. Rock n roll are plain thick floured deep fried spring rolls filled with vermicelli and vege.
Mains ordered were Pad thai, combination stirfry amd chicken and prawn fried rice. All portions were of medium size and far more carbs than meat. Pad thai was very oily (night market pad thai so much better), fried rice was very salty and had more rice than chicken and prawn. Combination stir fry doesn't include rice (pay separate for rice) and it looked like defrosted meat that had been quickly tossed together with some frozen veggies (far too much lemongrass-and could tell the lemongrass was the kind you get in the frozen aisle). None of the dishes are made with fresh ingredients and it's visible on the plate. Overall if you're starving this will dissapoint for sure. You're better off going to otahuhu food court or the nightmarkets if you want value for money.

Came with family for the buffet lunch, and was extremely disappointed. The buffet doesnt sell anything nice. It was just awful. There were no favourite dishes like pad thai, fish or any decent rice or noodle dish. Buffet extemely dissapointing. If they are not prepared to make nice food like their dinner menu, then perhaps they shouldnt do buffet.
Hilary Campbell
This is a really great place! The menu is a bit different from your usual Thai place, its fun and has dome different things on it. The prices are Also really good. For entree I had the fish cakes, they were so good with a lovely sauce, I'm glad they don't come with sweet chilli, I don't know what the sauce is called but its so yum! For main I had duck panang curry with roti. The roti was yummy and came with satay sauce. The curry had nice big bits of duck in it but didn't have much flavour. Great place can't wait to come back .

I couldn’t find the taste compare to other Thai restaurants. I loved service and their staff knows about food. Environment was very nice and quiet.
I hope they will check for extra rice also other than nice to visit.

Buffet menu is nice but if you come part way through service, dishes aren't topped up. A la carte menu would be my preference. Clean and tidy. Friendly staff

I've lived in Flatbush for years and finally visited Nana Thai. We went on a Thursday evening so the restaurant was pretty empty. We were served and seated straight away. The staff were great at first, but then didn't really wait on us at all. We asked for chop sticks at one point and they never came.

We ordered the Rock & Roll as an entree and Pad Ped Na Na Thai and Pad Thai as mains. The food all came out at timely manners. The spring rolls were good, and a nice light entree. I was a bit disappointed with the Pad Thai as it was quite sweet, and I wasn't able to finish it because of that. The Pad Ped Nana Thai was a let down, no where in the description did it say it had coocnut cream however this was clearly the main ingredient.

I don't know if I'd visit as there are other Thai restaurants/takeaways around here I prefer however I do like the sound of the buffet they offer for lunch.
Jeffie
Just came in and grabbed "The Hot Sweet Lady" with chicken, in which I made a mistake of asking for it to be hot because it was insanely hot for me. I even had a litre of milk with it and I still couldn't finish it in one sitting. Not their fault or anything but hot there is HOT. Service and ambience are rather standard.

Na Na Thai usually serves good Thai food with reasonably good service. However our recent visit was well below par for any restaurant in this tier.

The service staff was disinterested and seemed preoccupied with house keeping. The meals served tasted like they were full of tomato and soy sauce, no Thai flavours like lemon grass, basil bursting through.

I agree with the recent review that although the restaurant was well over half empty, the diners were seated on adjacent tables. This did not give a relaxed feel for a dinner nor did it have the vibrant bustle of a packed restaurant.

I hope this is a one off for Na Na Thai and they return to their usual standards on service and delicious Thai food.
Naziminator
Best Thai Jungle curry but other stir fry chicken dish with basil was a bit let down. Curry was perfectly cooked n was spicy with good flavours. Thai fish cake for starters was good too.
We went on a Saturday night n it was quite busy. Service was fine not that attentive but keeping the busy period it was acceptable.
May give it another try again sometime in the near future.
Momo
Quite pricey when compared to the quality and service of other Thai eatery nearby.
Has a sign in the restaurant that says if you break glassware you pay for it, very off putting but I guess I can understand .
A massive restaurant with not many diners when we went, yet they sat customers right next to us which makes it hard to relax and hear each other considering the place is so big. My duck curry was served inside a ceramic duck with a duck head, made me feel sorry for eating the duck lol. Overall, I just didn't enjoy the general ambience of the restaurant. (I know there's a private room above you can book for birthday dinners as well)

AMAZING loved it just came alone as I was craving beautiful Thai food and the food and service was perfect love love the fejoa drink would come back again
James Richards
Yeah the food is nice, but I waited an hour for my mains. We'd ask for our food and they'd pretty muxh ignore us. Yes, there was a big party but you'd think they'd be able to plan for that? No one coming to ask if we wanted a drink, if we were OK, anything. Not impressed at all.
Raelene Buchanan
Group of 5 went there for dinner last night. The food was nice enough but unfortunately the service was extremely disappointing, in fact you could say there was NO service. Two of us arrived first, we were seated in a cold corner by a door, despite there not being anyone else in the restaurant, once shown to our table the staff member walked away, nothing said i.e. would you like a drink? Some water for the table? The next member of our group arrived about 5mins later, she saw us so came directly to the table - no staff member approached us though they were standing around the bar and reception chatting and the restaurant was not busy at all. Over the next 20 minutes the final 2 members of our table arrived and in this time not one person came to offer us drinks. After 10mins of us all being there (40+mins at the table in total) we had to ask someone to come and take our orders, at which time we ordered drinks and food. Our drinks came followed swiftly by our entrée's, these were cleared quickly and then the mains just place anywhere on the table. Not once did anyone ask us how our meals were, would we like another drink or anything. We were basically left in the corner and ignored. Very disappointing as the food was quite nice but we will not go back again

Came here for dinner a few weeks back. Busy restaurant but the staff were very friendly and got us a table in no time. We enjoyed the food and the girl who served us came back a couple of times to make sure that everything was good. Had the Prawn Cakes and Veg Curry Puffs they every really good. I think I will go back here and recommend it.
Divya Nagappan
Food is pretty nice and the staff are friendly. A little bit of a communication problem but nothing unresolvable. We usually pay around $150 for 4 people :)
Philippa Cable
Service good, decor good but food a bit bland. We ordered two different curries but both ended up looking/ tasting the same except served in different dishes.
Vanessa Huang
A horrible experience I have had ever. I walked in, someone asked me to wait for their service when there are only a couple of customers in the restaurant. After 5mins standing in front of 2 restaurant staff, someone walked to me, and asked how many people. I told a table for one. The person telling me they are fully booked which was horrible.
If you are alone please do not go to this restaurant, all you have will be the humiliation.
Chai Paani
Went here for dinner on a Friday night. Been here a few times before. Overall well presented and the staff are friendly. Had the Prawn Cakes and Veg Curry Puffs. The Prawns cakes were delicious - light, fluffy and tender. For mains hubby had the Spicy Girl with Chicken(hot) and I had the Pad Khing with Prawns(hot). Both were ok, nothing spectacular. There was very little chicken in the Spicy Girl which was a bit disappointing. The prawns however had good sized fresh prawns that were cooked well. Overall, reasonably good.

Visited here again last night, unfortunately it was more disappointing than the last visit. While the staff are friendly, the food at best is average. Got the Pad Kra Praow with beef (hot) which was flavourless. The beef had the peculiar taste of not being fresh. Hubby got the Chicken Spicey girl again which was ok. At the end of the dinner the we had some mains left over so we asked if it could be packed- so they gave us plastic containers and a bag to pack it ourselves!

I can understand if we were eating in a food court and had food left over yes we'd be expected to pack it ourselves. But this is supposed to be a restaurant!

Booked in for family dinner tonight, food was yum but restaurant lacked ambiance. This was not my first visit but the service levels have dropped, it took them more than 40mints to get food to show up and it wasn't even busy. Overall I enjoyed the food which tasted really authentic but service needs urgent attention.
Miss M
I ordered a medium beef Massaman curry, which is a thick curry with potato, peanuts and coconut cream. What i got is a very mild, runny, chicken curry with potato, cashews and coconut cream. The service was very poor, had to ask for cutlery, then water and my lemon lime and bitters was flat pink lemonade... I'm not sure where to from here? Could they have gotten anything else wrong? I could've sent it back, but it took around 30 mins for all the meals to come out and I didn't want to wait any longer. A point for good atmosphere, and a point for the curry i didn't order actually being tasty. Their only saving grace.
Food Food Food
The night we visited the place was soooo busy so we thought this place must be good. We got 1 main to share, 2 entrees and 2 drinks . Curry was very nice. Entrees were ok nothing special. Overall the experience was just ok.
Benedict Uy
Came here for dinner on the way back from the airport. I find that the food here is quite nice. The flavours are a bit subtle but it is tasty. Liked the Siam basket with the edible fried kumara basket. They have all you can eat rice with the meals.

Service is alright although they did have quite a few staff on. They also have special lunch buffet on Friday to Sunday.
Monique Porteous
I'll start this off by saying I am no expert on Thai cuisine but I do know the difference between westernized Thai and genuine Thai food 😇. The moment you walk in the place it's quite clear that these people really took the time and effort to transport you to Thailand with the decor 🌏. The service is stock standard, English was a slight problem though. Every patron will be able to find at least one thing they wish to eat off the menu, while also laughing their heads off at some of the cheeky and creative names! 😂🙈. Most importantly - the food 🤔. I personally found my dish to lack flavor and be very dry, almost hard to swallow! But my two friends totally loved their meals and had no issues. All in all I would say this place could be skipped 😕.
I_like_pickles
A little disappointed on our latest visit. The lunch buffet is $20.90 which is a reasonable price.
However the food was really average and the service was mediocre.

On arrival they hadn't fully set out the buffet and we had to wait a good half an hour for the buffet table to be filled. They also didn't top up any of the food after they laid the buffet at the beginning of lunch service.

The food was surprisingly luke warm and many of their dishes had no meat in it. Lots of their curries were vegetarian and the Tom Kha was also vegetarian.

We had to ask for water and you only get one plate. At the end of lunch my friend ended up with half a plate of bones a bit if stir fry that was too salty for her to eat and the waitress told her she would charge her for food wastage, even though it was mainly a plate of chicken bones.
Foodie
I had dinner last night and I was very disappointed with the food, quality and the quantity they were serving for the prices😡😡😡
The only saving grace was the service as they were prompt and nice.
Eric Tan VersionTwo
Been awhile since coming here, but was pretty much empty around 6-ish Monday on Queens birthday weekend. While staff are friendly, the service was lacking urgency that night (despite a near empty restuarant with 1 waiter to a table ratio at time) and although I have no issue with prices they charge in terms of quality of their food, they are quite skimpy on rice. Tried spicy girl and naughty chicken this time both at thai hot level, I can handle spicy but farrrrrrŕrr burnt me a new a hole and cured my cold syptoms instantaneously, I figure they made it hot because of the whitey I was with insisting on thai level hot; the staff were like probably like let's own this european for even thinking they can handle the jandle. Also don't try their ice tea so not worth $. I'll give this place 3/5 decor & atmosphere (im pretty sure it hasnt changed much in years? and despite scary statues at entrance freaking me out on way out and eftpos machine that's older then me almost) 4/5 for food, 3/5 for service. Overall fairly average experience; only bonus was no surcharges, might have just been off night but consistency is key if you want repeat business.
Faisal Hassan
We have been going to this restaurant for years and have always enjoyed the food and the atmosphere.
However, last night was the last time we will go there. I made a booking for my brother's birthday and when we got there, there was nothing. The place was packed, the lady at the front was rude and there was no booking noted down.

Do not go there unless you want a mains of no service and rudeness, served with a side order of disgraceful ignorance of everything.
Natasha
This place is good - serves up typical Thai food.
Had the cashew chicken and liked it, tastes like cashew chicken I've had at any other Thai restaurant.
Was a bit confusing about paying for rice, waitress wasn't clear.
Rohit Victor
Delicious Mocktails, great service, spicy and mouth-watering food.... Honestly, you can't ask for more! Check out the pics and take your family & friends asap!
Julian
The food very nice and good customer service, I like the vermicelli salad and fried snapper with sauce,.................................: love it
Kelly
Dined here recently and the food has definitely improved since the last time I ate here a few years ago.

An ever popular Thai restaurant destination, and I can say it's a beautiful restaurant that does both good food and offer excellent service. Thai inspired decor, rather dim as a restaurant but it does set the mood so can make a romantic dining experience. I appreciate the naming of dishes haha.

We had the tom yum soup, Bangkok show time, and the duck in love curry. I really enjoyed the Tom yum soup full of flavour and duck in love curry that was beautifully creamy. The Bangkok show time was in my opinion a basic stir fry but the presentation was definitely on point haha!

I'd highly recommend for those who love Thai food to come and try this restaurant ☺️
Miss Alesana
I love this place and I've been here for a few dinners with work colleagues and family. The first time we went on a busy night and we were a large group so the food took a while to come out. However when it did come out we were not disappointed! With my family we also took a bottle of wine and enjoyed the beautiful dishes we had. This place is one of the much nicer thai restaurants in the area with it's beautiful decor.
Arpita Mandal
A very efficient and delightful little Thai place...

Service have been pretty good on every visit...
We always go back for their sumptuous food...

Cocktails are fairly good too...

One of our favorite Thai place...
Kimberly
Went here a friends birthday dinner. The food was good and the price was acceptable. Their desserts were awesome and their decoration and lightings were nice.
Judy Chhy
My favourite place to get pad Thai! Love the flavours service is always good. The food comes out real quick and everything is at a reasonable price!
SS
I grabbed takeaways from Na Na thai last week after not having dined here for a while. Food is still of good quality and portions are quite similar. If opting to dine in, they do have a decent sized dining area with very beautiful thai elements to the decor.

The green curry is probably my favourite. It is perfectly creamy with just the right amount of spice. It's definitely yum!
Gentlepig
I can see why my other Piggy friends always sing about this place - it pleasantly surprises you with it's class. Everyone talks in hush hush, and the decorations are at home at establishments much pricier than this.

Na Na Thai's food is pleasing, yet betrays it's ambience. We had the Naughty Chicken along with Mussaman Curry, and it was the Naughty Chicken that was the better dish. We're massive fans of Mussaman Curry, and unfortunately this rendition could have been mistaken for another type of curry altogether. The Naughty Chicken is very tasty and promises an authentic Thai flavour - yet lacks presentation.

Overall a good group dinner place to eat without high expectations - if the standard of the food could match the ambience, Na Na Thai could earn itself a 4.0 quite comfortably.

My partner and I both ordered the cashew nuts and vegetables to takeaway. It was a decent sized meal, that I could not finish all in one go. I am becoming quite a fan of Thai food, so am getting a taste for the different flavours that different restaurants use. The flavour in this dish was not my favourite, a little different tasting. Nice to see that they have a dedicated vegetarian menu which I am sure they can make vegan easily.

Amazing friendly service and amazing flavoursome food.. Will definitely be eating here again. Had the mixed entree and couldnt fault anything.. Then for main we ordered the steamed whole snapper and thai green curry... Have been to thailand twice and this food was very traditional and exactly what we were looking for.

Always nice to come down here for some authentic Thai food. Good food and good service makes it an enjoyable time every time. Recommended if you live close to east Auckland than this is the place to be.

Went here for dinner, it's quite a fancy Thai restaurant in Flat Bush. I love Thai Food! The prices aren't that bad either for the quality of food. The food had a rich authentic taste, in fact, the whole restaurant had an authentic feel. It's also very spacious and there's a generous amount of tables to accomodate huge groups. Lovely staff and quick service!

Came here for a Saturday buffet lunch, $18 very good value, food was tasty and was such a comfortable restaurant ! Lovely staff until I found the sneaky hair in my food :(

I haven't been here in quite a while. They used to do a really good buffet for lunch, which they no longer do. Their website still says they're open for lunch which they aren't. Not sure about this. Otherwise, we went for dinner and the food was excellent. It was very spicy, which was a change. Normally restaurants dumb it down a fair amount. The food is authentic and the service was extremely quick. The menu is extensive but is on the upper price limit of what you would pay. I would definitely come back.

This restaurant is spacious and a good size for either couples or groups. We dined in for lunch one weekend and the service was average which was a little disappointing as they weren't very busy.

The pad Thai was good with nice flavours and a decent size. However compared to other Thai places I have been too it was on the pricer side for what it was.

On another visit, a friend had her birthday dinner there and they made the effort to put candles on the cake we'd brought and play the happy birthday song when bringing it out which was really nice of them.

The location is a bit out of the way for me but would recommend to those closer by to give it a go.

1 of my favorite thai place in botany, food is always yummy perfectly cook & their drinks are great. Probably my favorite place for tom yum soup rich in flavor, perfect balance, just divine. Nice environment & it feels private. They have great entrees too.

I enjoy Thai food because it is always full of rich tastes. However, I believe that it tends to be a bit sweeter & less hot than it is in Thailand, for unproven (or unknown) reasons.

Thai food has to be enjoyed as a shared meal. My friends & I ordered mixed entrées, tom yum goong (soup), deep-fried snapper, Siam basket with chicken & water chestnut, crispy pork and fried rice with egg, pineapple & cashew nuts. All dishes were generally good; crispy pork, even though nicely cooked, was not my choice. The down side about the dinner was the slack service - 1. water was not attended to; 2. waitress was not attentive; 3. waitress was supposed to pick up the used plates & should not ask customers to handle the plates themselves; and 4. customers definitely wouldn't like to be addressed as "you guys..." (Food - 4/5; Service - 1.5/5; Ambience - 4/5)

Always love coming to Nana Thai. Been to many Thai restaurants as the family loves Thai food. This one is perfect. Coming for more than 14 years and never disappointed. Fabulous food, fabulous service, fabulous decor and awesome buffet lunches. . . Can always find something for everyone's tastes. :-)

When I came in I had really high expectations and the restaurant defo met those expectations. The decor was nice and so was the ambiance. There was a few occupied tables there already which really wasn't surprising because it's pretty popular. Went here for a lunch buffet for $17.90. The price itself wasn't so bad because you won't get full easily with the food here. There was a lot of choices to pick from although I would've preferred it if they had more options/variety because there was only limited dessert(fruits, fried bananas and gelatin). I really loved their Pad Thai here and the chicken cashew nuts! I also loved their fried chicken because it wasn't too oily or salty. The only seafood option they had was combined into one main meal (it had mussels, prawns, squid, and other vegetable) plus it was a tad bit spicy. You could easily get full with two plates and the price was defo worth it. I suggest that they improve their service and add more options but other than that I very much enjoyed my time here :) Their Pad Thai is the best!

Came here after 4 years and still find the service and food good. Had only you which is beef with sweet tamarind flavour. Surely will come here again

Went here on a Friday night and it was reasonably quiet (although it is quite large inside so it looks less busy than it is). It's really nicely authentically decorated, and the staff that served us were very nice and friendly. We ordered the Massaman Curry with Beef, the Siam Basket with Lamb, and the Tod Kra Tiam Prik Tai (Thai-style BBQ meat marinated with garlic & pepper with vegetables on a hot plate) with Combination Meat (pork, beef & chicken). They gave us a generous serve of rice on our plates (and later kept asking if we wanted more - great service). The Massaman curry was very good - slightly spicy even though we ordered everything mild which I didn't mind but could be a bit too spicy for those who can't stand anything slightly hot. It was just slightly different to other Massaman curries I've had before - it may have had tomato in it? The Siam Basket, which is a basket made of kumara filled with meat/veg in special sauce was absolutely delicious - really crunchy and the sauce was really tasty. The Tod Kra Tiam Prik Tai was also good (similar to the Siam basket filling but not quite as tasty). Overall great experience and will be coming back :)

Went here on a busy Saturday night , we ordered the beef salad , duck curry , flaming chicken and seafood salad . My beef salad was not as flavoursome as other places but it wasn't bad either . Liked how they cut up the chicken so it was more easier to eat . Service could be improved

One of the best Thai restaurants in Auckland. Closer to real Thai food than others. Less made for European type dishes. Remember to ask for Thai spicy for the real Thai eaters.

Very friendly service, amazing atmosphere. Food was very flavoursome yet not too sweet or salty. Portion is very generous too (actually took an effort to finish them). The only complaint being that my crispy pork was a little bit dry or overcooked and with the huge portion served, it was getting a bit tiring chewing through all of them.
Definitely would recommend to friends and come back again.

Have been here quite a few times, food is always good. They also have a great range of vegetarian options and mocktails. All the staff were very friendly. The restaurant is usually quite busy so sometimes the service is slow, but well worth the wait!

Went in today for the lunch buffet ($16.90 pp) which was extremely good! Had quite a few different items (2 soups, entree snacks, curries, stir fries and noodles, 2 desserts and fruit) and everything there was delicious! Catered for vegetarians well too which I thought was great. Service was friendly , somewhat hard to understand some of the waitresses though. Overall a real good place to have lunch, unfortunately if you're a sweet tooth i wouldn't recommend the lunch buffet, but as with most thai places there isn't much choice dessert wise. Will be back.

Went there for Valentines Day and was quite disappointed. Service is always excellent, but the food wasn't so this time. Our meals arrived warm and had to be reheated, meat somehow became overcooked and did not taste as good as they used to be, but that wasn't the worst part - imagine being seated at a table with dirty cutlery. Probably won't be going back for a long time.

Consistently excellent! My family and I come quite often, I have probably dined here about 6-7 times over the years. Food is always delicious, lovely and very helpful service. Great atmosphere and setting too.

Keep up the good work!

This restaurant has a great setup, lighting and atmosphere, nice big room with cosy tables. There is an area at the back for private parties also. The food is really good. My favourite entree is the "Goong Bai-Tong" - prawn wrapped in banana leaf, a dish I haven't found at any other thai restaurant. Love this place!

I have been here twice, recommended by my friend. I really love the food here. The dishes that I really enjoy are the dish with Kumera basket and also roast pork salad. You have to try them and you will know what I am talking about. The pork salad is refreshing and flavorful. Service is excellent. I would definitely come back for more!

Great food, service and atmosphere. My fav dishes are the duck curry and the deep fried pork mince on toast with sesame seeds. Very good selection of cocktails and mocktails!

Had a birthday dinner there Tuesday 22nd May 2012 with family, five adults and one infant. I booked our table three hours before arriving, only to find when we got there, they had to orgainse a table for us, while we waiting... so what's the point of ring in for. The table was situated by the door, which brought in a draught everytime it opened. Staff service was fairly friendly. The food was okay, portions were a bit smaller compared to other Thai restaurants we been too. The fruit salad for dessert was disgusting, it's like eating rubbery fruit. It was a first time there, we much prefer other Thai restaurants, so we won't go back there again anytime soon.

I am in love with this resturant. I've dinned here at least 7 times and its sooooo yum. Every dish I've had has been amazing. You seriously cant go wrong. The service is great too. Very polite and welcoming.

I have visited Na Na Thai a couple of times, and have been impressed with the food and service both times. First time I had the Chicken Cashew Nut stir-fry, and my friend had the Flaming Chook, which was a pretty spectacular dish! It was far more than we could both eat. Second time round my friend had what I chose on our first visit, and I had the 'Tod Kra Tiam Prik Tai' not that I could pronounce it, but the description sounded good on paper. I was not disappointed, I could have eaten two. I will continue to come back.

My favourite Thai place in Manukau, I give them a call, order over the phone and pick up in 15 minutes. I'll have to experience dining in soon to score additional stars.

In my opinion the BEST Thai restaurant in Auckland by a country mile.
Fabulous food at great prices. Excellent service.

Fantastic place for GREAT thai food. We travel all the way over from South Auckland just for it! Well recommended and all the friends and visitors we take enjoy the food too. If you want some entertainment also check out the big screen projector playing (no sound) featuring funny Thai tele!

Visited Na Na Thai for a friends birthday. We all had a really good meal. The pad Thai was really good, not just full of noodles as you sometimes get. We had a variety of dishes to share and everything was amazing. It wasn't cheap but great for a special occasion or if you want a good meal out. The restaurant is big, staff are friendly and attentive. This restaurant is suitable for everyone, by that I mean it can cater to large groups, families (really child friendly), couples and friends just dining out. The only down side is if you are in central Auckland it's quite a way out, but definitely worth the travel!
