We popped in yesterday afternoon (01/11/2023) after our daughter's high school graduation, we hadn't been for years because the last time we visited we were somewhat disappointed with the quality of the food, our daughter was the one who wanted to try your restaurant again & we're so happy we did, we loved the food, portions were very good & the food was served hot & it was so tasty! The seafood basket tasted fresh, the aioli is slightly tangy but we love that, pasta was just how each person loved it, the ciabatta buttery & freshly toasted, my CLAT was mouth wateringly good, & our iced chocolates were on! Our servers weren't as friendly as we remember others having been in the past but other than that, we were so happy! We will definitely be back again! Thanks for having us!

Haven't tried everything on the menu but what we've ordered so far has been delicious. Staff are friendly. Tables are constantly being tended to and layout is good. One thing I would say is that their restroom tap water has a funky smell that put me off. I'm not too sure why the tap water in there smells.

Come here often for lunch so it must be good! Fast service, friendly staff. Prices for burgers needs to be dropped as they don't look the same in the pictures. Smaller. If you come as a group it's one bill per table otherwise you get up and pay individually.

Good food, good prices. We had the Eggs Bene and the Chicken burger. Both were delicious. The neighbourhood is nice and there is lots of local atmosphere.

Recommend the CLAT was my favorite. Food was good, staff friendly and was reasonably priced. CLAT, Fish & Chips, Hot Dogs Kids Meal. Highly recommended.

Great place if your looking for burgers and fry’s. The owner is very friendly and our food came quickly.

This is our go to place for dinner when we've just finished work and cant be bothered cooking. Highly recommend.

Excellent Crispy fish and shoestring chippers with a tasty little salad 🥗 Lovely thank you.
Aleah Lutau
Big portions, friendly service and their seafood basket was a favourite.

Food & service are good. My only gripe is that their salad is lettuce, a few strands of grated carrot & dressing. Not a proper salad IMO.

Omg every time I've eaten here, the service has been at the highest level. Absolutely mouth watering fresh food. 10 /10 😎

Quick service, large variety of meals at reasonable prices to suit families. Great place to go for our last meal in NZ before flying home. Great atmosphere as there was someone playing a saxophone just outside.

FIRST TIME DINNING HERE.The workers here were so bubbly friendly and they are very passionate people made my dinning experience so amazing that they were always checking on us and it made me more at ease with dining here. The 2 workers that were there Friday night.{the female waitress} Good luck on your next journey. {Myguyfrom FIJI} GOOD LUCK ON YOUR NEXT EPIC ADVENTURE., ☺️☺️🎇🎇

Good spot and nice atmosphere! Shame they don't do the huge coffee they used to do before the coffee, part from that it's a great spot.

Small cafe, great vibe/atmosphere. Menu is awesome, heaps of really good looking choices. Order the kumara chips they are next level good. Clean, 5/5 for great service, vibe, hygiene and cleanliness

I asked the boss if they have vegan food. She didn't know what it was.. (no meat no dairy). They ended up making me steamed veges with rice. Under the veges was a hair. I took it to the boos and waitress. And showed them. They took my plate and didn't say anything. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone!!

Don't order the clat (chicken lettuce avocado tomatoe salad) during winter when the price of tomatoes and avocado are high as you will get plenty of chicken & lettuce on your plate but no avocado or tomatoe...when we bought this to their attention they asked for our plates to be returned to the kitchen so they could inspect it yet it was obvious there was none???? This made us feel like they suspected us of eating it or hiding it under the lettuce just to get more..this set a bad tone for the rest of visit there...we use to be a regulars there and stopped going there last winter as this happened then..it's a cost saving habit of the owner that doesn't sit well with me..I was apologetic to the waitress as I know it's no fault of hers when we requested that those two items need to be added to our meals as we ordered the clat and only got served a cl. ...we will not be returning any time soon...best to go to the lucky cafe two doors down as they don't skint on their menu according to the season...best to order the clat during summer as they do include tomatoe and avo when tomatoes and avocados are cheaper. I did notice other people's salads had the same problem as ours...coffee is good...other food I'm sure is fine but my gripe is specifically towards the clat dish...sort it out owner!!

Absolutely disgusted , I have been going here for years , but unfortunately on Tuesdays night I ordered the pasta an as I stir it to cool it down I notice a long black hair , I called the waiter over , she Took it away , here I was thinking , someone would pop over an apologise for what had happened an offer me another meal on the house !! But no I waited 15 /20 mins while my partner ate his dinner, still nothing on mine end so I was hungry , when up to pay , they tryed to charge me for the meal , an then when I asked where it was I was told not cooking yet , an if I wanted it take away I would have to pay , so over an hour in the cafe an walk out hungry am disgusted !!!! Was a weekly customer here willnt b back

Does anyone respond to these critiques? I've been in here twice and find the service lacking, the food is good but the service is not. Ordered lunch as we only have 45 mins lunch and we were told 10 minutes. Drove to pick it up 15 mins later and it hadn't even been cooking. Not good at all!!!

Service excellent, unfortunately not one of the best all day big breakfast's I have had.Don't know what they did to the mushrooms, tasted like rotten meat.Wouldn't go back

**Service Complaint** We visited on 22/04/17 & had to chase up our Seafood basket, we also got given 4 garlic bread instead of the 2 we ordered then told we could keep the other 2 if we paid an extra $3, when they could've offered it to us for free as a gesture of goodwill for having to chase up the seafood basket plus the extra wait time because when it finally came when we had finished our meal. Asides this though, the food was great as usual!

Went for lunch there, my daughter and I waited for our lunch which it was order at the same time; however half of what I order arrived but still had to wait for my daughter's meal and the rest of our good btw it was a starter... 45mins later my daughter's meal came but we had to leave.. I asked to have all our meals takeaway because we waited for nearly 2 hrs. As I was paying the full price of our meals I still had to wait for rest as it was still cooking then they fucked up our order. We will never go there ever again, the services are close, and they lie, it will only take 1 minute miz fucken 2o minutes to wait for kumara chips....

We celebrated our baby's baptism with a late lunch here on Sunday afternoon for 35 people. The service was great and the guests enjoyed the food and the relaxed atmosphere.

stay away , they appear normal , but when you complain they ignore you or do not try to solve the problem, find a better place .
Nia Tupouniua
Whenever I want comfort food for eg a simple steak meal or a fish burger or big breakfast this is the place to go. Big portions and good food and a reasonable price. They have the best kumara fries and aioli and I love their fish burgers.
Keriata Peters
It's an ok place to eat for lunch. I wouldn't recommend the chicken cashew. It wasn't very pleasant at all. The Caesar salad was really good though. I wish they offered normal fries instead of string fries. The menu is a bit so-so.<br/>I would suggest focusing on a few good dishes as you already have the same dishes at your other cafes along the same strip. Make each cafe a little bit more distinguished from each other as all your cafes along there seem to have the same options.
Ben Smith
The fish and chips was very fresh, affordably priced, and a generous serving. That's all I have to say. It came with a salad which was OK. Cheers.

Disappointed last night as I took a friend with me, telling her how great the Cafe was, etc. Our coffees were served lukewarm and the chips we ordered served cold! Really sad considering this is our only option after 6pm in Mangere Bridge. I did not see the usual staff whom work in the evenings, so maybe it was their night off? They are wonderful! However, service should always remain the same despite new trainees. Hopefully this was a one off for the Cafe?!

Well known to the locals. Nice cafe open late serving pretty good food. Not a huge menu but there’s something for everyone. <br/>Prices are reasonable and portions are decent. <br/>Service is good and staff are friendly. <br/>Has some nice sweets to choose from as well as they serve scooped ice cream. <br/>Cool its open later than normal cafes.

Very disappointing, I had been warned about the food in this place but I thought I would give it a chance myself, I ordered the lamb shank meal, the mash tasted old and was warm should have been hot! My cauliflower was black around the edges and the lamb shank was burnt and hard never ever again will I eat here, my friend had the fish and I could smell it from my seat the fish was turning was not at all fresh so disappointing for what we paid!

Service was good the girl serving us was lovely, I had the chicken and rice which was really nice, my partner had the sirloin which was average and my daughter had the nuggets which You can get anywhere.

Staff are friendly, <br/>A relax place and<br/> The atmosphere is harmonious.<br/>food are fine.<br/>Hot Chocolate is wonderful.<br/>We have been here a few time, all right for us.

Our family love this place! The staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble (I seem to always say that). The decor is lovely and there are plenty of tables outside also. My favourite thing to order is a fish burger.

Like how this place closes late on weeknights. My wife & I dine have eaten here a couple of times. Our latest experience had its ups & downs. We weren't seated when we showed up just given menus and chose where we wished to sit. Our orders were taken quickly enough. My wife ordered a steak and egg meal. Unfortunately her egg wasn't cooked properly and the egg white was still raw which we sent back for refrying. We didn't receive an apology for this basic cooking error. The chefs special pasta on the other was a nice blend of flavours. Thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it. The garlic bread we had as sides was also a treat and went down well. Decent price, would return again.

Been here 3x now. The girls are polite they smile but seems almost robotic. The food here is great. I loove the crostini dish. It is an entre but i actually have it as a main.. lol. They have THE BEST KUMARA CHIPS!!!! No one compares.<br/>

The customer service could definitely use a little pick me up. The team here do their work but that’s it just action the task instead of applying some customer service smile or finess. Nevertheless we get served and get out food. <br/><br/>We were after a hearty breakfast meal each time we went and we got just that, loved the mushrooms, eggs a little dry, the poached eggs weren’t runny the bacon was ok, holandaise was alright. <br/><br/>They serve lunch as well so it means you can get a variety.

:( ordered butter chicken hour before closing and was given (what looked like) reheated butter chicken and burnt rice. They weren’t willing to refund our money but eventually did. Won’t be going back. But hope they pick their standards up as it is in a nice area.

I have been eating here for years and although some days it hasnt been the best of service from the waiters or waitresses the food has always been great. Would recommend to anyone that is looking for nice hearty food at affordable prices.

I brought a Vegetarian Burger that comes with chips & a nice sauce :) the chips with sauce were very nice but my vegetarian burger had a hash brown in it instead of the stir fry vegetables. My Burger Only Consisted of a Salad mix mayo and a hash brown not a very happy customer . Will never buy a vegetarian burger from here again . Shows they don’t care about their customers my order was also takeaway shows they just did it because they knew I wasn’t going to look at it till I got home & there was no stir fry Veges . The menu doesn’t even mention that the Vegetarian burger has a HASHBROWN in it 👊 I also brought a Chicken Burger for my partner . Both we’re made with no love.

Chose to eat at this cafe/restaurant for breakfast out of its close neighbours (Lucky Cafe, Phnom Penh etc) because it was quieter. And I see why. <br/><br/>Food: 5/10<br/>We had the breakfast. We paid $11.90 for the portobello mushroom breakfast, $16.90 for the big breakfast & $4.90 for the fries. <br/>The best part about it would have to be the crunchy shoestring fries seasoned with chicken salt, and the deep-fried hash browns. Everything else was below average. Portobello mushrooms were under seasoned, with water sitting at the bottom of the plate. I mean the price is ok, but is somewhat reflective of the quality and quantity of food (eg 1 strip of bacon) that you get.<br/><br/>Service: 2/10<br/>This is where it all went wrong. I found a light brown hair (I have black hair) in my hollandaise sauce. I raised my hand and a waitress came over. She took my plate, and although she was nice, she didn't apologise. She took my plate back to the counter where herself and two other staff members talked and looked at it before taking it to the kitchen. She came back and asked if I wanted another one & I agreed. Another lady brought another my food out- again with no apology or eye contact. She just placed my food down and walked away. This time, she'd given me only one hash brown and not two. Annoyed but wanting to finish my food and leave, two staff members stood at the counter talking, with one constantly looking at me and away. I felt uncomfortable. To add to this, we had a chocolate milkshake that we'd ordered 10mins earlier & we saw no staff making this, but they could gather and talk at the counter. Not impressed at all. <br/><br/>Ambiance: 7/10<br/>We went on a Sunday morning and sat on the tables next to the footpaths, so it was a tad noisy with the local market, families eating and conversing, and people walking their dogs past you. If you're looking for somewhere quiet to eat, inside is probably more suited to you. If you don't mind the noise or foot traffic around you, this is an option. Location is great. <br/><br/>Overall, I wouldn't return to eat here. Disappointed and underwhelmed. It's common sense to correct your error & apologise. If the food we ordered was great, I'd consider coming back. But to support a business that doesn't value customer service like other nearby cafes, I just don't think I could. <br/><br/>

Visited on Friday 2/2/18 and had the clat, kumara fries, seafood basket and a mocha. Loved the clat and mocha but the seafod basket was almost inedible except for the fries. The kumara fries wasn't fresh but it was still enjoyable. We had to get our own menus but we come here often enough we didn't mind and service was prompt (this time). Affordable prices and good location to people watch.

Price is good for me. Usually go here if I feel like eating steak. Or a cheap dine out for family. Service is mostly a let down. Long wait times for food to arrive or taking orders. I'll still go here though because it's affordable. Foods ok.

Been here for breakfast and lunch. Love their chorizo in mushroom sauce thingy bob. I forgot what it was called but it was delicious. I normally order their sirloin steak with fries and my goodness the food is delicious. if you're big on fries these guys have the best in town perfectly salted with the nicest sauce to compliment it. Must try if in Auckland or near Mangere bridge

Went in just for a beverage and the service was awesome, friendly people, lovely open environment leading to outdoor setting. Nice vibe overall 👍🏼

Came here before with a friend this was my second time today. The first time was a little bit disappointing but this time wasnt too bad. Although it is a cafe you can tell by the menu that theres a strong asian influence. The place is somewhat a "jack of all trades" in its dish types attempting ranges from european, indian and italian influences. This place goes for wholesome. The prices a cheap, but also reflective if the quality. <br/><br/><br/>THE FOOD <br/><br/>Chicken Pasta (3/5): This pasta was rich and I enjoyed it. But they do pile on the cheese and you can tell its full of msg. Loved the mushroom taste, for the memories it illicits id give it a 5/5 but for the actual quality of taste 3/5 probs more fair. <br/><br/>Steak on Rice (2/5): When we ordered we asked for medium rare but got well done, they quuckly replaced it which was cool. Something about the dish though lacked life ir flavour. Maybe the steak wasn't well seasoned or the quality of steak was poor, cant put my finger on it aye. <br/><br/>Chicken Mango (4/5): This is the one I ordered today, loved it!!! The funny thing though was that it tasted less of a mango chicken dish and more of a muscle chowder which gave it bump in score. Wish there was an option to use the same sauce for seafood, that'd give it a 5. Aw and more rice but then im a rice lover<br/><br/>Kumara Chips (3/5): Ok so kumara chips have become a common trend and its pretty hard to stuff uo. These chips were cooked well and had a nice crunch to it. The texture was on point but i feel like the seasoning was lacking make it taste a little more bland, id reccomend asking for more seasoning if you order it. <br/><br/>THE ENVIRONMENT (5/5)<br/>Love Mangere Bridge township. It's got a mean communal feel to it, diverse and relaxing. A ideal place to have lunch with mates if your looking for a lical chill vibe. <br/><br/>THE SERVICE (4/5) <br/>Both times i went the staff were pretty attentive. Had a entertainment voucher for lunch and the waitress and had a light debate because she insisted 25% of $41 was $10 but thats trivial. But other then that pretty friendly. <br/><br/>WORTH IT? <br/>YUP if your ok with ok food at ok prices.

One of my favourite go to places, especially on Sundays after church. Have been here several times and i always enjoy my food, friendly staff and great atmostphere!

Love this place awesome location beautiful view if your seated outdoors, staff are very attentive and welcoming. Had the C.L.A.T meal was beautiful chicken cooked well chips were light and crispy& the salad was nice a fresh <br/><br/>Thank you

We've ate here a couple of times and have always had our usuals. Tried the CLAT and it was the bomb! Loved it even though it was a little over dressed but rather that then under dressed. Latte was the yummy also but my husband ordered the curry lamb and it actually tasted more like chilly butter chicken soup w lamb. Luckily it was nice otherwise would have sent it back. We also asked for water and a side dish but it never came out because obviously waitress wasn't listening even when i repeated my order twice. Overall its just a good place to have a bite and yarn if want some delish shoe string fries and aioli. Service needs some work!

The reason for the lowest rating is because a stupid waitress gave my damn kumara fries to a couple at another table which I had ordered way before they had turned up. The poor couple thinking how fast they got their plate of fries started eating from it as you would. Then! the stupid waitress realising it wasn't there's came back to their table, took the plate of kumara fries that they had already been eating from and served them to me! ! She's lucky I didn't shove them back in her face!😡<br/>

Called into this restaurant with my mother for lunch. Staff were friendly and provided prompt service. The waitress was polite and helped go through the menu in detail to assist us (as we were first time visitors). She did extremely well accomodating my mother who lacks dining etiquette. We ordered the seafood basket with a side of garlic bread and the sirlion steak, salad and eggs with a side of garlic mushrooms. These were sided with shoestring fries and aioli sauce. The servings were very generous. Overall the food was delicious. The best cooked steak I've eaten outside of a steakhouse. Excellent quality cut meat. I tried the Passionfruit Smoothie - delicious and very refreshing with little fruit jelly surprises however too sweet for my palate. My mother thoroughly enjoyed her cappuccino. This is a massive compliment because she not a coffee connoisseur. I would definately go back again to try the burgers, pasta dishes and/or the ethnic meals. A lovely spot in a small but busy shopping village nestled on the shoreline of Manukau Harbour.

Three for food. And zero for service of one guy. I have visited this cafe as my family enjoy eating there. This cafe is near their home not mine. Food is reasonably price. But the service behind the counter by one Asian guy is appalling. Im am not talking about the older asian guy who stands on the side of the counter and gives the menu. Im talking about another guy who is there alot. Hes not new. I should have got his name cos He gets annoyed when i ask for a few extra plates. We ordered three plates of hot chips to be shared by 6 of us. No side plates given. When i asked for extra plates, he gave it to me in annoyance. Also on one visit that he served me, i asked for an ice cream sundae and said that i had one previously a few days earlier. I mentioned it had three scoops. And he impatiently told me, they dont have a sundae with three scoops but he will do one with smaller scoops. Yes i dont mind. But dont tell me off and give me annoying service. <br/>Mops

I have come here a few times. It's a nice place during spring or summer to sit on the tables outside. <br/>The menu items are very affordable. When this place first opened I enjoyed the burgers because the patties were homemade but they have since changed to bought patties.<br/>I would recommend ordering from their Eastern menu like their Tom yum soup or grilled lemon grass chicken on rice.<br/><br/>You can also get decent smoothies with pearls or jelly in it.

I went to coronation cafe today , I usually order a fish burger and chips but thought I would try something else , I had the satay burger and it was so good , because this is my local I always go to Atleast once a week I definitely rate it 5 stars 😍

Rating 0 - been going there for long time.  Ordered Big Breakfast, but do not like hash browns - can I substitute chips for hash browns  - Sure - then they charge you $2.00 for the chips.  Same thing happened when we wanted mash potatoes.<br/><br/>Certainly doesn't make you feel like being loyal.<br/>Never be back as Food Grade is now a D - makes you wonder.
Diogo Reck
Very bad place. The spring rolls I've had tasted like they were rotten, and the sauce that came along with it was no good.<br/><br/>I also don't see any point as using a lettuce as decoration purpose. Doesn't match with the food and btw is not beautiful at all.

4 of us turned up for breakfast... No  info given on how we order.I ordered the Chicken Caesar Salad, 1 x Vanilla Latte & for my son the Steak Breakfast, 1 x ice coffee. My other 2 friends ordered theirs. My Vanilla Latte turned up, and it had turned into a 'Latte'.. I advised what I had ordered, and the attitude was as though it was my fault, yet my friends heard clearly what I had ordered. The food turned up.. Looked quite dry, and nothing great. Luckily the company was better. When we went to leave and pay our order, we were told that we had to pay as a table, not as individuals..<br/>We were not impressed.<br/>The 'Manager', if thats what you call the unprofessional person speaking to us, told us that on every menu there is a sticker that says 'one payment per table' at the bottom of the first page.<br/>Ridiculous!!!!!....<br/>All I can say is - I would NEVER recommend this 'place' to anyone.<br/>Find somewhere else that knows how to cook and communicate better than this.<br/><br/>She was very lucky we went back to pay for our food, after we had to withdraw money from the ATM across the road, which would have penalised us due to the machine not being our own bank.<br/><br/>Advice to MANAGEMENT: Find another job >:(

Ordered a lamb shank,2 garlic bread and a Moroccan mango chicken on the phone.I get there to pick up my order and the lady tells me they have no more lamb shank (why the eff couldn't you tell me over the phone). So instead I order a chicken burger (pretty much a bread roll with chicken) and asked to drop one of the garlic breads (as I was going to soak up the gravy with it).She says it's ok and a little Asian lady walks in from the back and cancels the transaction and says that the 2 garlic bread have already been made so I must buy both now.Ive given this restaurant many chances to prove me wrong but this is the last straw.Better to try the roast place across the road or Hong Kong bakery up around the corner.Bad service, bad food.Best go else where then get food poisoning here...

I have been going to CRC for about 3yrs, in that time I have eaten just about every meal more than twice, what I look for within the food industry is quality, quantity, value, presentation, service, overall consistency right across the board. To be honest I can order any meal on any given day and it will be done exactly how I like it, outstanding. I don't eat anywhere else in Auckland.
Food For You
I have been here before and had a great experience I had eaten a lamb salad which was really good tasty lamb couldn't knock it. <br/><br/>I came here today with a group of 12 we had pre booked a table but our friend told us when she got there a couple had sat at the table that was booked for us and as the waiter was seating my friend asked them to move as the table had been booked, needless to say the woman was very unhappy and I don't really blame her as staff could of told them before they sat down or reserved placements would have been an idea. <br/><br/>One of the other things I found strange is there policy on payment of group bookings you have to pay either as a table or separately at the front counter as some only wanted to order an entree and some an entree, meal and a few drinks it wasn't fair to split the bill equally so we each individually ordered our food one at a time at the counter and food served at all different times. <br/><br/>I wanted to try something new this visit so I ordered the sirloin steak meal which comes with 2 eggs, salad, chips and aioli sauce. The steak is probable the worst steak I have ever had prepared for me I asked for med rare but it was rare and tough with a whole lot of gristle on the steak so disappointed and the eggs were putrid I'm not sure what they were cooked in but it I could taste bitterness they were awful so I ate half the fries and nibbled on salad, I also ordered spring rolls they were ok but nothing to brag about and finally garlic bread which was fine as well. <br/><br/>I would not be recommending this place to anyone the food is substandard and as other reviewers have written I could definitely do a whole lot better at home, medium rare steak is not that difficult if I ever have to dine here I'll avoid it or stick to the lamb salad.
Alaut Airotciv
I had the steak meal and it was delicious came with chips & salad. Chips had a yummy aioli sauce & you have got to try their mocha it is the best I have tasted.

Our favourite restaurant! Been coming here for over 2 years everything we've tried on the menu has been amazing (our favourites are the clat salad and the Sirloin) , their dessert cabinet is full of beautiful cakes & slices with movenpick icecream to top it off. Prices are excellent & service is fast and friendly.

Made a reservation for my sisters birthday for 11 people.. got there and they had given our table away to another group of diners who made no booking and just walked in! No effort was made to accommodate us, instead we were left standing around playing musical chairs with whatever free seats we could collect once other diners were done. Nothing was offered out of good faith for their incompetence.. just blank faces!! Wouldn't have been such a big deal if we were just a party of maybe 4, but to leave and look for another restaurant for 11 people at 7:30???? Just unacceptable and rude!!!!! Useless.
Jess
I eat here all the time, the portion sizes are generous, the menu has a large variety of choices, the prices are affordable, the staff are helpful and organised and the wait time for food is short. The best shoe string fries I've ever had.
Maria Foy
Went in here, as it is local, looking for gluten free food, not very many options. Nice, friendly staff, and ended up ordering a ginger crunch. Was quite nice but very soggy.

I ordered me my first Big Breakfast this afternoon at this Café and I must say it was very yum. Besides the great food we were served, our waitress who took our order was very rude and didn't have any good customer service skills at all whatsoever when a simple question was asked her answer was "It doesn't work that way" in a grunt. Instead she could've been polite and said sorry our cafe/restaurant does not do that. As a customer after being spoken to like that did not make me feel valued at all. The rest of the staff were great though!
Maria Taratu
ok, i would like to start off with how rude one of the waitress was, very inpatient. Besides that everything was ok,  until it came time to pay!!!! there receipt system is shit!!! they over charged some of my family members and even tried to make us pay more!!! never will i ever go back there again. Worst service i have ever experience.

Mocha review; I have recently become addicted to coffee because of this place, I always order a large mocha to take away and it tastes like a dark hot chocolate. The perfect combination of bitterness and sweet. Thank you so much.
Sammy Iqbal
Ordered the Sirloin Steak. When it came to the table it looked good until I cut into it. The meat was well over done when I asked for a medium. The meat looked like they took slice of rump and butterflied it. The servers did not come back to check if our meals were okay. I had to take my plate up to the counter to let them know that I wasn't happy with the food. They replaced my steak but ran out of fries, but at that point I was too hungry to care so asked them to serve the steak just by itself. I think the $5 side of mushroom was better than the main meal it self. Note to the chef please don't try to fool people with the incorrect cut of meat. You maybe located in Mangere but the residents here knows what their food should be like.

I eat out alot and this place always hits the spot. Food is great, always has been. I started coming here about 6 months ago and have since been coming sometimes 2-3 times per week for either breakfast, lunch or dinner. Im in love with their Salmon dish and their burger or pasta meals are affordable and portions are great value for money. The service is great and the wait staff are very kind, Ive also noticed the food never takes too long to get to our table, even when they have large groups dining in. I work alot and finish late so when i cant be fussed cooking after a long day im glad I can count on this place to be open as they close at 10pm most days. The only dissappointing dish I have tried at this place would be the potobello mushrooms which lacked flavour. Everthing else Ive tried is delicious. 😊

I love this place. Me and my partner go there all the time. The quality of food is amazing for the price you pay and food preperation time is what as expected. However I will comment on the lack of quick service they have as quite often, we seat ourselves and grab the menu. A smile wouldn't hurt as well lol

came here for my birthday yesterday and was pretty shocked at how rude the wait staff was. my aunty ordered steak and it was not bought out and by the time we had finished our meals, we complained. the waitress came back and asked us to "raise our hands whoever ordered steak" as if trying to blame us for her mistake!!! Once the steak came out it was rare in the middle even though she asked for well done so she left it and refused to pay for it. i went to pay and the lady tried to make me pay for it!! <br/>

Local food is the place to go! <br/><br/>Been here a couple of times and the food is amazing and is always consistent. Food comes out on time and there's a lot of variety to choice from which is good. Staff can be a bit rude at times, like reaching over people to grab dirty dishes or rushing orders.<br/><br/>Definitely a place to try (:<br/>

Oh yes Coronation Cafe well you have to talk to yourself it does not take experience knowing the rights or the wrongs at a cafe.<br/>Firstly there coffee is cheap, not experienced coffee roasters and customer service is poor and attitude is terrible towards there valued customers.<br/>The food is small portions not by quantity which is important to customers as well as quality service to your table or directly to the customer.<br/>The staff are beyond trained in hospitality I had a problem with a service I asked them to fix it they said don't come back.<br/>Asians are the most desperate people in Auckland money money money its in the brain not the service but with no class and no skills just take not care about there customers.<br/>I would tell you not to dine there its sub standard food and no environment like being at home without being looked after by the staff your see for yourself and sure watch out for used food from yesterday its a ongoing concern with Asians they are poor in there understanding of Food Hygiene and its regulations surrounding food handling why? they sell off food and past due dated food.

I have only been here once but I enjoyed it very much.  Sitting outside on a balmy summers evening was great.  Service was fast and friendly, clean and tidy.  I had fish and chips (not very daring, I know) which came with a nice salad and tartare sauce.  The serving was quite generous - filled me up anyway.  I would certainly go back again if the chance arose.

Lets just say, I can cook better at home.   If you are looking at eating out, I would suggest to go somewhere else or order Fish and Chips  at your local fish and chip shop.  The food is less than average.   Brought here by my brother, who seems to frequent this place quite a bit due to its portion sizes, as opposed to quality.  The menu offers a confused array of dishes which I could not pinpoint a theme to it.<br/><br/>Please check out my website for an indepth review.

Love this small little restaurant in the heart of mangere bridge, I love the carbonara pasta x awesome staff
Lena
I ordered the pasta and he ordered the steak. The wait time was standard and the food was ok - sauce:pasta ratio was a little high and the steak was too well done (he asked for medium). However, we weren't too fussed and the experience would've been fine, except... the service was just appalling. No smiles, plates banged down onto the table, plates whisked away just as we had finished eating - almost as if we were being rushed out of the half empty restaurant. I have never before felt like an inconvenience in a restaurant or cafe. Don't think I'll be giving this place another go.

Apr 27 · <br/>Eeewwww just had the grossest experience at this restaurant ... Went to restaurant to have dinner with my mother, went to the counter and there was the owner lady cutting her narly fingernails on counter...when I complained she scooped up the pile of filthy fingernails and took off out the back ....,no disinfecting counter .... No apology .... Hence I didn't have dinner there. How disgusting, wonder how many people got chewy fingernail bits in their meals.

This cafe is really good and the prices are reasonable..I have tried several dishes at Coronation. I love the chicken salad..they give you so much and very well presented. I can never finish it, but for the price you pay its such good value. As all their meals are. I love the kumara chips I tried for the first time last week too. Their coffee and smoothies are really good too. We always go out for lunch there when ever we visit Mangere Bridge

Decided to treat elderly mum who lives in the area to lunch, she wanted soup and as it was the only one offering soup, called in, were seated and offered a menu which we didn't need as we ordered soup of the day and I ordered a toasted sandwich ,ham, cheese and tomato on brown bread was told they didn't have brown and said white would do , it arrived with chips which I didn't order and aioli I did not want them so mother said she would ,my toasted sandwich was with sandwich bread so really thin and I could not see any cheese, I opened to put salt on and found a piece of sandwich ham the cheese if there had been some was gone and there were two ends of tomato with a big core on both of them,i took it back and said I could not eat it, waited until mother had finished and then went to pay for soup and tea, person tallied up and said $21 handed over $22 dollars and said I'm not paying for the toasted sandwich that I didn't touch to which the owner came out and insisted that I had to, as my mother was embarrassed I let it go and walked out never to go back.

Great value for money! <br/>We went out for a family lunch (with young children) and were very pleased. They were busy, yet the meals and drinks come out quickly - overall the service was excellent. Meals were very tasty, including the kids meals. My husband thought the burger he had was one of the best ever. A great menu selection at extremely good prices. We will add this restaurant to our list of favourite places to eat! Many thanks

Amazing service, amazing food, great prices. Well done guys! Can't ask for more! Will definitely be back!!!<br/><br/>Ordered the fish burger. It was massive with a whole lot of chips! For only $10.50!! Food was served very quickly after ordering, and it certainly wasn't lacking anything

We ate there last night on recommendation from a colleague, and were pleasantly surprised by the good food and great service. The CLAT I had was the most tender chicken I've had, and the Scotch fillet served to one of my family members was described as perfectly tender. The service was quick, we received our food within 5-10 min and we thoroughly enjoyed sitting outside on the sidewalk, taking in the village atmosphere. I will definitely go there again, and can highly recommend this restaurant

We ate here earlier this year, ordered the steak and found it tough and tasteless, but because we live local we thought maybe it was just a one off and were prepared to give it another go. Unfortunately it was no better, Scotch Fillet, no way, it was tough and chewy and covered in packet gravy. The worst part is that when I informed the waitress about my dissatisfaction she approached the owner, who walked right past me and would not look at me, allowing the waitress to deal with it. It would have gone a long way in making things right if she had talked to me.<br/>Definitely wont be back.

Went there as part of a group of 15 for a family party. Sat outside, lovely summers evening. The restaurant was quite full and busy but the service was always quite good, only had a slight delay with getting water after all the other drinks were served. Because we were such a large group I thought the food would take a while, but the first meals came in only 10 minutes. I had fish and chips. It came with a large side salad, really nice dressing and sauce, two pieces of fish and chips. The salad and fish were very nice, the chips were a bit skinny for my taste, but still enjoyable. A large meal at a reasonable price, served quickly by friendly staff. A very enjoyable meal out. Didn't have dessert, but lots to choose from the cabinet.

Just took my old mum out for a bite. Shocking service somebody should teach them restaurant 101. The service boy, and he was a boy was so impatient. Hey I said old Mum she should be able to take as long as she wants. At one point the server was tapping on chair he was so impatient. Mum chose the chicken soup. Boy comes back no chicken soup so brings menu so she can choose another dish but he never comes back. My food arrives I eat it and still nobody comes back. I go to counter and ask about it. Nobody knows. Boy comes back and tries to blame me/us for not ordering. In the end we tell them to forget it, ruined our mojo and evening. Are minors allowed to serve alcohol??? They won't be getting my money again.

I booked two hours before I was planning on an Xmas meal with family. Booking over the phone was pleasant and no problem. On arrival we were quickly directed to our seats and a waitress was assigned to us and we had drinks within 5 minutes of sitting down. Our order was taken not long after that and we relaxed in an environment that was non threatening and not stuffy. Our mid-day feast was brought out in what seemed like 5 minutes. It was probably more like 10-15 minutes. Definitely no longer than that. All seven of us received our food all at once. Impressive. My Dad is a fussy eater and asked for no sauces with his meal and that is what he got. If anything, the only complaint was there was too many chips in a kids size fish and chips. the coffee made for us after that was also one that deserves a mention. It was decent and hot, with good flavour.<br/>I would recommend this restaurant for family get-togethers. Tables can be moved around to suit larger groups.<br/>Best time for a quiet feed is around mid-day.<br/>Lastly, the cost was very affordable.

I have been to this cafe 3 times in the last two week now! First time I had Fish of the Day. Fish was fantastic, and I'm fussy about fish, must be fresh and not taste too 'fishy!' Then I totally fell in love with the mint chocolate chip ice cream. An explosion of mint, with real chocolate flakes, not just dried up chocolate bits.<br/>Second time round I wasn't that hungry so I just had the Creamed Corn Soup which was a bit bland, no 'wow' factor. Mint choc chip ice cream was still fantastic!<br/>The last time was when my husband and I went on our monthly date. I chose the salmon this time. It was lovely and 'melt in your mouth' soft. Salad and dressing was fresh and pleasant. Too full for dessert unfortunately. Hubby had the #9 steak dish also and was very pleased with the ample portion size and flavour.<br/>I am going there 2 more times this week so I will continue to monitor food and service. (Tough job but someone has to do it!)<br/>All times, service was great. Handsome young polynesian boy was very friendly and helpful.

My family are not common to fancy cafes or restaurants so I decided to treat them. Walking along the array of little stores the prices were ridiculous and didn't look convincing enough to spend that amouint of money on food. <br/><br/>Coronation Restaurant and Cafe stood out price wise and we ordered the #9 dish which has now been the common dish whenever we go back. The Sirloin steak, green salad, chips with aioli. Huge plate, worth the price. <br/><br/>I ordered the mushroom pasta once and regret to say I didn't eat it all and I am a huge pasta lover. It lacked seasoning and flavour.<br/> <br/>The blueberry pancakes were ridiculously overpriced for a tiny amount. Dry. <br/><br/>After experiencing a great, mouthwatering dessert of the caramel cupcake with different sorts of ice cream we fell in love with the warmth and sweetness of the cake and the plain cream that was complimented by the syrup within the cupcake. <br/>We ordered it on another visit, this time as take away and were sadly disappointed. I had asked for three caramel cupcakes to get that great explosion again and were completely let down. We were served Passionfruit and orange cupcakes. Bitter and not what I spent my money on. We only realised when we got home. <br/><br/>The outside weather protector needs to be fully sealed off. what is the point of covering a small corner when rain/wind comes from all angles. Think of busy days when mothers need to seat their kids down. We dined during a busy rush outside and the wind blew half our salad away. Totally unimpressive. A mother with two small children we saw walked several times past the restaurant to find a seat and although she walked away several times she kept coming back to no avail.<br/><br/>These are minor problems we have had with this restaurant, the service at times is wonderful. Some visits it feels like the staff will perform well when they feel like it. What ever happened to service with a smile? <br/><br/>My family and I enjoy the steak dish very much. It is all we ever order because we have been let down by many other dishes before from this restaurant. This should not be the case. I love to explore new things but if I do this and am let down tremendously ,I will order the same thing. Everything should be cooked with passion and not when you feel like it.<br/><br/>We still have faith in this restaurant, hopefully this review will improve a few things.

When I went here, with my friend, we looked in the display cabinet and saw very reasonable prices. We both chose cakes for $3.99 each but when it came time to pay for them by eftpos the lady at the counter rang up the total for the cakes as $8.00 instead of $7.98.<br/>I know that this is only two cents but when the price on display is $3.99 then it is actually illegal to charge anything different, especially when you are paying by eftpos.<br/>When I questioned the staff member about it she was very stiff-faced and did not back down.<br/>We just decided to have a coffee - they can have their cakes.<br/>See below an article from the Commerce Commission on pricing...<br/>"Price displays<br/>Businesses must price goods clearly to make sure consumers are not misled. When a customer sees a price sticker on a good or a shelf price, it is reasonable for them to expect that that is the price they will be charged at the checkout.<br/><br/>A business that displays prices which are lower than the actual price at which they are selling goods or services is misleading consumers about the true cost of goods.<br/><br/>Example: A supermarket charged higher prices for certain fruit and vegetables at the checkout than at their point of display. The supermarket was convicted and fined."

I live in the vicinity and it is always busy. I have been here three times and yes it can get incredibly noisy. The steak was a little too cooked but I wasn't paying so I just ate and enjoyed. The Shank was lovely I couldn't eat it all but I thought it was rather expensive when you can buy the same thing at the RSA for half the price but the desserts are very, very nice and you get a decent size portion for the price. I can't wait for the cafe to open in Onehunga as I often have breakfast on that side of the bridge. It looks like it's going to be a replica of this Cafe with the front opening out. Cheers

Totally love this Cafe it's one of my fave I go there at least 3 times a month some times more but everytime it's just great staff so friendly and the food is amazing...love love love this place...the parking is fab and the area for those who want to have a smoke and a drink outside is perfect and their opening and closing hours are suitable oh and how can I forget their steak meal it's to die for and their chicken burger FAB FAB FAB..I tell my mates and family about it all the time I always brag to them about it to the point they asked to be taken there...

A true gem hidden within the realm of South Auckland. Is honestly the best place to eat in, on this side of town, the food is wonderful, the coffee the best I've had so far, the staff are very friendly and professional. Recently had my graduation dinner here, and despite two of the chefs being on holiday, the manager Kinnry and her fantastic team, took on the event, and put up with half my family turning up late :)<br/><br/>Prices are amazingly low. Am there for coffee regularly with friends. If you're over trying to find parking in town, and want a delicious dinner for a reasonable price, within the beautiful setting of Mangere Bridge village, then this is the place for you :)

The place looked really busy which is always a good sign. Sat outside and was waited on quite quickly. Drinks arrived soon after.<br/><br/>After waiting for about 40 mins for our order I flagged down a waitress and asked where it was. She came back from the kitchen and said it would be 5 mins.<br/><br/>When the food did arrive we were not impressed with it. The seafood basket had a layer of french fries in the bottom of it and about 6 or 8 various small deep fried seafood pieces sitting on top of them. Definately not worth the $14.50 price tag. <br/><br/>The supreme satay on white rice was tasty but had little sauce with it making it quite dry and there were more pieces of onion than chicken. Cheap enough I suppose at $11.90....but really!!<br/><br/>$2.50 for a glass of sprite that came with no ice....but at least the beer came with a chilled beer mug.<br/><br/>The worst part was that after being home for a couple of hours, the gurgling stomach started and I spent the next hour with lower stomach pains and till the early hours on and off the loo.<br/><br/>Can say with confidence that I'll not be going back.

Great value and good seating, inside or out. <br/><br/>The steak and eggs are good value and nicely cooked. The vege burger is excellent. A little oily perhaps, but tasty and filling.<br/><br/>The chicken curry was average - tasy enough but overcooked and lacking in aromatics.<br/><br/>Service is great. Went one night when things turned a little haywire - missed orders, wrong food to the wrong tables, etc., but they explained they had problems with a chef leaving early. I believe them because every other visit has been exemplary.<br/><br/>Coffee is good, and I like the fact the Maitre de has on several occasions asked us how the coffee is. I love that!<br/><br/>I also really like the desserts, especially the ability to take them home and enjoy an hour or so after dinner.<br/><br/>Criticisms? It can get incredibly noisy inside. Probably becasue they're so popular. So I'll just have to put in earplugs and bear it.
Em .
Best place to eat in Mangere Bridge village!<br/><br/>Great staff - very friendly and nice, great food, decent prices, and a selection of Movenpick icecream by the scoop.<br/><br/>The super steak burger actually has a large piece of steak rather then a patty, excellent value at $14.90.

Cheap and doesn't hurt the bank but the food is something I could whip up at home in the same amount of time. If you're just looking for something cheap and edible this is your place but don't expect greatness. I had 2 poached eggs; a tablespoon of spinach; 2 mushrooms and 2 mini hash browns. Like I said, edible yet you could do it at home.<br/><br/>Went back again, worst service ever, half of the meals were brought out half an hour after the others
