Review Fatimas Takapuna - Auckland Central

Hummus Mezze, Chicken Pita and tabbouleh Mezze..flavoursome, fresh and healthy! New staff. Slow service. Slightly burnt pieces of chicken. Order was 30 minutes late. Other than that it was understandable.

Always love to eat the lamb salads a good portion sometimes can be overcooked but its a healthier option than a burger or fried food .it's also really tasty

Really good, small portion for the price so if you’re hungry grab extra. High quality and delicious though!

Went in just before close, and the staff were very friendly and still served us the best pitas we’ve had. Will definitely return considering out food was this well made while they were closing 🙏

Kia Ora - Don't be fooled by my 5 star review! This is my experience of Covid world Fatimas. After arriving to collect my food, I was greeted by a friendly staff member which told me my food would be 2 mins away which is fine (strangely enough I have lots of free time over the next 12 days) 2 minutes passed & I collected my food. Upon opening my order I was greeted by what at first I thought was a extremely generous portion of chipotle mayo (see attached photos) to my surprise/horror what I found was potentially the world's strongest potato kofta. My poor sauce pot has been impaled!. As a man that seems to live on potato i was quite confused on the journey my sauce had been through as the kofta in question wasn't a rock solid as you would expect. Still enjoyed my meal 🥰

Awesome lunch menu, don't walk away without getting Koftas

I needed a quick dinner before an appointment in Takapuna last night (3/6/21). I was very impressed by the three young ladies behind the counter, they seemed to have a great system in place with great communication and teamwork, whilst under the pressure of a long list of orders and many hungry eyes staring at them. My Chawarma came out within the amount of time they promised and it was absolutely delicious :)

We really enjoy going to Fatimas, as it is rare for us to do so, went on a Saturday night and it was getting busy but the staff were efficient and friendly. Had the Lamb satay kebab which was lovely, just not as Satay ( peanuty)as I would have liked but flavour was nice. Hubby had plain lamb kebab and only critic was it had a lot of onion, as there was onion in sauce and onions in salad. Koftas were great and came with a lovely sauce on side.

For many years the Lamb chawarmas have been one of my favourite takeaways. Nice service too. Be great if the plastic fork was dropped and replaced with a sustainable fork.
Chad Stimpson
Best spot for a date night takeaway. Lovely team and great quality food. Love that alternate meats now also on the menu. Keep it up
Lee
Always good tasty salads from here but they often dont bother to include a fork to eat the salad with otherwise would give 5 stars.

$15.50 for the smallest kebab in town. Barely 2 pieces of chicken and no flavour at all. Will never return and wouldn't recommend you waste your money either.

I love their Falafel Salad!!! I am fan of it now. Its so delicious and I wish they had a branch in Albany. The food is really good here. Falafel fans would love this salad so fresh, tasty & crunchy. Lovely dressing.

We always order the same thing lamb chawarma, the fatema's favorite chicken pita and the kofte bites which are delish. Flavors are always consistently good. This is our favourite fast food kebab place on the shore.
Marco
The worst. Staff were unfriendly, food took a good half hour to arrive. The satay pita that I had ordered was very average. Will never come back.

Asked for takeaway but came as have here. Not complaining though cause we actually changed our minds as soon as we sat down - maybe they’re mind readers??? Ha ha. The plastic straws definitely didn’t go un noticed - see attachment A. Was also given six (????) napkins with my pita - unsure if this was because they noticed the smoothie down my top from breakfast this morning or what. Would consider giving a higher rating next time if the environment was considered :) The food was 3-4/5 but they had my fav kombucha so happy days.

Popped in on a Saturday night for dinner with a few friends for the first time, I had the Fatima’s favourite pita with chicken and it was amazing! Full of flavour, and the staff were lovely, can’t wait to go back and try more of their menu. Only thing that let them down was that the tables were in bad need of a wipe down but they were understandably busy

Just dropped into Fatimas really close to their closing time and was served by a lovely member of their front of house staff called Ana. She was extremely accommodating, and looked after my friends and I like an absolute champion. Great service highly recommended, atmosphere was top notch and the food 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼 will definitely be returning

Walked past here on Anzac Day and it as open with no surcharge! The service was okay however the two staff were very busy. We order a chicken chawama and a chicken pita. The flavour of both was great. I found the chawama a nightmare to eat, it was messy and not really presented well. The prices here are also pretty high for what you get.

This is by far some of the nicest food for the most reasonable price - there is a reaoson why its always so busy. Great veggie/vegan options and their koftas are to die for!
Rob
Really bad customer service! Just dropped the food on my table and NO apologies from staff! Even they were reluctant to pay refunds as saying it was my fault! Not recommended

A family friendly place that offers a range of pitas and shawarma. This lamb shawarma was super delicious. The bap was perfectly toasted with a nice crunch when you bite into it. Inside, it is stuffed with a generous serving of spiced lamb (cumin?), lettuce, tomato relish (couldn't really taste this :/), and yoghurt dressing! Very filling and scrumptious, would definitely be keen to try a few other flavours!

Convenient and nice place to get lunch.

Service at Fatima's was good as the lady who served us was patient and food came quickly. Even though the presentation of the food made it look unappealing, it still tasted fine and was enjoyable.

The place itself is rather small and claustrophobic with seating available on cramped tables outside next to the road, or on stools overlooking the kitchen. Sitting at the stools meant we were able to observe the storage area and the staff preparing the food. This meant the atmosphere was mediocre and to be quite honest I couldn't wait to finish my food (which was rather yum) and get out to have some fresh air.

Recommendations: Persian salad with lamb is great!

Food is next level good. Why can't other kebab shops use the same meat and marinade you guys use! Gotta say the service has been a bit average consistently as the always young staff seem rushed and frantic (it is usually busy).

I am not a vegan or even a vegetarian but I am always on a hunt for good vegan or vegetarian food and more so importantly veg food that is not bland. After hearing a lot good about Fatima's, I had to go there and it definitely was above my expectations. I ordered vegetarian chawarma and it was so good and filled with flavours of the middle east. Loved it. Highly recommended and definitely going there more regularly now 😊

Utter rubbish ordering online system....late, lost orders.....
If you own Fatimas Takapuna you need to sort it out....

How many times do we need to end up in Burger Fuel because your online ordering is crap....never fails at Burger Fuel....

Good takeaway place but not for dining in. Nice tasty food that never faults with nice options of sides. I use to only attend the Ponsonby branch being close to work. Took a new employee with me, both extremely sick! From then I never returned and now only use the takapuna branch.

Yum! Yum! Yum! Have always loved Fatima's but was the first time checking out the Takapuna store today. Waitress that served me was pleasant; straight to the point and got on with making the food. The chicken and lamb Shawarma's were so yummy, love their garlic sauce! And the koftas were cooked to perfection. $40 odd for two of us so a bit pricier than your usual lunch, but so worth it. Food was ready within the timeframe she said. Better to takeaway as like other stores it's quite small inside. We will definitely be back! 👌🏼

Had fattoush salad was quite tasty. Chicken tasted nice. Wasn't that impressed when watching them make it though. All salad components where kept in messy tubs, some contaminated by other ingredients, not great food hygiene. Raw chicken was put on the grill right next to almost cooked chicken - potentially a major health risk. Unsure if I'd return...
I liked the staff, the menu, and the food. So delicious. It was a bit greasy, but in a healthy natural way, and you won't feel uncomfortable after eating it. I ordered a lamb shawarma and some potato kofta. Both were nice. The only bad thing was that the staff didn't have gloves. However, they say...hands of a chef are clean!!! I'll go there again.

Fatima's is delicious! A lamb salad (or pita) is soooo perfect after a swim at the beach in the summer. The flavours are simple but they mesh together perfectly. I like how their are healthier lower-carb options and so much to choose from. There is nothing quite like Fatima's around Takapuna so I'd recommend giving it a try.

Went here tonight with my boyfriend for a quick dinner before seeing a movie. I got The Catch of the Day and my partner got Pacific Pita with Chicken. Both were really tasty and fresh, only problem is once you get to the end they are quite hard to eat. The service was really friendly! I will definitely be back!

Feed Me Fatimas indeed! Not a usual fan of seafood and I am in love with the Catch of the Day wrap, perfectly sauced and seasoned. This is closely followed by the Mediterranean wrap with chicken. And never ever order from Fatimas without throwing in a side of koftas! Yummy!

Great fresh food. Staff are a good bunch too, happy and lots of smiles. Appears they actually want to work there. More of a lunch option as portions aren't overly large. But flavour and quality makes up for it.

Very small place to dine inn but really good food no doubt about that. Some amazing vegetarian options are there which i m quite happy with u dont get that often.

Had my first Pita wrap here yesterday. Delicious. Real bits of lamb, beautifully marinated. Very different to those you get from places like Queen kebabs, that all taste the same. They were very busy and had an order for over $100 (just for lunch). No problem with the staff who were very pleased to have me voice my appreciation for a very tasty lunch. Thank you, we will return.

I eat takeaways from Fatimas Takapuna about once a month. They do a great Lamb Pita (Gluten Free available) and also cater well for the vegetarians in the family with thier Falafel and Hommus choices. They also have great coffee. This is affordable and tasty fast food and with alot of options not deep fried its not too unhealthy either. They always employ young people who obviously dont have the life skills to give great service but I have never experienced the rude service described by other reviewers. This is probably a minimum wage job so only attracts inexperienced people. The size of the GF Lamb Pita is a vast improvement on the one I got from Fatimas in Ponsonby (that was nothing short of a rip off).

Hygiene certificate was not displayed (must be ashamed of their grading)

The service was awful, as the staff were very unfriendly. Waited for aaaaaaaaaages for the food to get prepared (only 2 chicken shawarma's were ordered) and they were not busy! The shawarma was a tiny burger bun stuffed in yukki overcooked bad chicken pieces absolutely drowning in yoghurt and bbq sauce. DISGUSTING. We paid about $20 for two gross mini burger\kebab thing. NEVER going back there again.

I was walking in Takapuna with my friend, who's as foodie as me. At first i had my doubts I thought that Fatmia's was just another -Middle Eastern wanna be-, but boy was I wrong.

The guys that work there are cool, not in your face but around, friendly and actually smiling, very nice people.

Atmosphere is nice not your typical dine in. There are bar seats so you casually come and eat and go. As well as group seating on the sidewalk, we spent a very relaxing and enjoyable hour there. They provide outside heating for winter season.

Most importantly as you would have expected is the food. The meals are all sandwich wraps.

The sandwiches i tried are lamb pita and the Crisp chicken. Texture was very good, sandwiches where wrapped properly and easy to eat without a mess.

The choice of ingredients were brilliant in both sandwiches, lamb tasted heavenly with everything complimenting the other in a bread wrapped ecstasy. They weren't too hot Or cold. Not too crispy or soft for the bread to crumble just perfect.

I cant really explain how it tastes, but go ahead try it once be brave in trying something made better.

Bon appétit
