Review Elisabeth - Auckland Central

Nikita Miles
This dessert shop is an absolute gem! The cozy brick walls and jazz music create a warm and fuzzy atmosphere. The staff is lovely and attentive, making your visit even more delightful. And the desserts? They are decadently delicious, like pieces of art you can eat. Easily the most adorable dessert shop I've ever been to. Highly recommended!

Such a delightful (and delicious) surprise! I was walking by and saw "hot chocolate" on the sign and decided to try my luck for a dairy-free/vegan option. They have an extensive hot chocolate menu and more than half the options can be made vegan. There are also many delicious treats, with multiple vegan options as well. I enjoyed a dark hot chocolate with oat milk, which was super rich in a chocolate-lover way. They're open late, too, providing a fantastic evening and late night alternative to bars and clubs. There is comfortable seating and a chill atmosphere with music that isn't too loud to hold a regular conversation. Now that I know it's here, I'll definitely be back!

My favourite late night dessert spot in Auckland! Their hot chocolates are to die for - I highly recommend the dark chocolate one. Also, you have to get one of their lava cakes. Really great spot for a date or a wholesome night with friends ❤️

The atmosphere and vibe was amazing- very cosy and warm inside. Dessert was just divine! They recommended a really nice chocolate drink for me. Great suggestion! Love it !

Nice food and great service! We ordered the Lava cake and French earl grey tea. The lava cake saved us from our chocolate craving and the vanilla ice cream that came with it was amazing. We also loved the French earl grey tea - beautiful scent. Would like to visit again to try their famous hot chocolate!

Elisabeth's Chef is such a warm and inviting dessert store. As soon as we walked in, we were welcomed warmly. We ordered a dark chocolate hot chocolate with coconut milk, a single scoop of black Doris plum sorbet, and a peanut butter hot chocolate. The hot chocolates arrived super hot, filled to the brim. They were absolutely divine. The owner engaged with us, making jokes, being very friendly. He checked in with us, and offered to give us takeaway cups if we couldn't finish our drinks. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with lovely warm lighting and a range of seats. Even with a filled shop, the noise never got overwhelming. There was soft jazz music playing in the background, and the interior felt very homely. Overall, we had a wonderful experience here and are excited to come back again to try more of their menu. We will definitely be bringing more of our friends and family here again! 10/10 would recommend.

Been coming here for 5+ yrs and the drinks have always been amazing! Quality and quantity of drinks has not changed a single bit. Qudos to Elisabeth staff and management for keeping this gem of a place up to mark with quality, service and price.

The best hot chocolates and desserts in town. The owner is the nicest guy. I come here everytime I need the best sweet stuff in Auckland and we drive all the way from Howick just for that. How do I give this place 6 stars?!?

My boyfriend introduced this restaurant to me, and it's become one of my favorites. As far as my love goes for hot chocolate, I didn't know there's so many varieties. I will always choose to come back here.
Jacqueline Ko
Really good real chocolate taste, not like the sometimes where you end up getting chocolate milk experience. Desserts are also generous portion for sharing.

Cute little cafe, open till 11pm. Great atmosphere, Instagram worthy too. Sticky date pudding 10/10

Such a cute cafe and delicious desserts. Have been here a few times and have always loved coming here as the staff are also great. Very friendly and cozy environment.

The hot chocolates were so good and the atmosphere was so cool. It was a get away from the world but with CRAZY hot chocolate flavours that made your taste buds go crazy!
Shanille Navarro
Their Aztec spiced hot chocolate is a must-try! Definitely my happy cup 🤎 I also love the ambience of the place - very homey.
Milosz Joseph
It's an amazing place, the ambience is wonderful and an awesome place for desserts with your family or friends. If you want to feel the embrace of a chocolaty warmth, this is a must go in the heart of Auckland city.
Sam Keeley
This place has the cosiest vibe and the best hot chocolates. Pricing was $10-$13 a hot chocolate but they are well worth it. So decadent and the mugs are huge
Flossy Cameron
Lovely service, delicious desserts & a great assortment of hot drinks to choose from on a nice late night date.

Highly recommend this place. The ambience is cosy and inviting. The staff are most helpful, with great service. The dessert menu has multiple options and they have great coffee to go with it.

FANTASTIC service! Really friendly staff, delicious hot chocolates, cosy & relaxed atmosphere. We'll definitely be back again to try some of the incredible looking desserts!

Popped in for a cake and when we got home found it was rather stale. Very disappointing. The mille-feuille lacked flavour and the pastry wasn't flakey.
Zade Zag
Best eclairs ever! Highly recommend.

Great dessert and excellent staff, me and my kids love it!!!

The dark choc 'hot mess' has to be one of my favourites but nothing so far has dissappointed Visit count has shamelessly reached almost once a week
Steph Korucu
Yummm, we came for the fairy floss hot chocolates but it was ALL good. Lovely space too- I'd like to move in
Sarah Jane
Addicted to the chai lattes. Can't wait to try dessert!

Best hot choc ever! <3

Heaven.

The ambience was not great. There was a peculiar smell in the sitting areas behind the counter which was a turn off. But the hot chocolate was good.
Lexie Vuitton
The staff is so rude and lies. I made my Uber eats order at 10:30 after 40mins of waiting they finally answered the phone and have not known how to use uber eats correctly and wouldn’t do anything to make it up for there mistakes. As a business if you make mistakes you should fix it and know how to use uber eats so people don’t think there order isn’t coming.

(Follow me on Instagram @hungrynomster for more food reviews 🥰) <br/><br/>Auckland’s recent miserable weather calls for warm winter drinks, and 𝔼𝕝𝕚𝕤𝕒𝕓𝕖𝕥𝕙 is the perfect place to curl up with a hot chocolate & some tasty treats, either for a cute date night or a casual catch up with ur besties ❄️ ☕️🍫<br/><br/>• 𝘼𝙢𝙗𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚: Small, private & inviting. Dimly lit, brick-interior cafe for a warm cosy vibe (though this also means it doesn’t have the best lighting for your insta shots 😅).<br/><br/>• 𝙏𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙚:<br/>- Salted Caramel Tart: Yum, rich but not too overpoweringly sweet.<br/>- Vanilla Bean Eclair: Standard eclair with custard cream filling & whipped cream topping. The vanilla flavour was not very prominent and the choux pastry was quite dry. Unfortunately this was a miss for me.<br/>- Triple Chocolate Brownie: Such a hit, very fudgy & chewy! If you fancy something extra, you can opt for the Triple Chocolate Brownie Trifle, which comes with icecream, chocolate sauce & a shot of espresso on the side.<br/>- Lava Cake & Raspberry Sorbet: dense & fudgy with refreshing fruity sorbet, you can’t really go wrong with this 😋<br/>- Hot Chocolate: This is a must! They have a range of options from milk to dark choco, with peppermint, ginger, fairy floss, or s’mores etc to suit ur liking. I had the Hot chocolate ‘Mess’ Milk chocolate, which was very rich & creamy, topped with yummy chocolate shavings. 𝘛𝘏𝘌 perfect hot choco for sipping on cold winter nights 👌🥰<br/>- Spiced Ginger Latte: Very warm spiced latte with hints of ginger. Tbh I’d prefer it a bit stronger & sweeter, but it’s still a nice light drink to balance out all the richness from the desserts.<br/><br/>• 𝙎𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙞𝙘𝙚: Staff are welcoming & polite - the guy who served my Ginger Latte got my order wrong, but he quickly apologized and made a new one for me. Service could be a tad bit slow during peak times but the staff’s attentiveness really makes up for this.<br/><br/>————————————————————————<br/>📍: @elisabeth_kingsland - 467 New North Road, Kingsland, Auckland 1021<br/>⭐️: 4/5<br/><br/>Don’t forget to use ZOMATO GOLD for 10% off ❤️ (If you haven’t signed up, use my code JENNDA for 20% off ZOMATO GOLD)

Been here a few times now. I love this place because it's great for late night chocolate cravings. Super yummy but for special occasions, as it's too chocolate rich!

Went here for friends to get desserts after dinner in Saturday night. The place is cozy and great to spend time, also they have the chocolate sorbet ice cream which became my fave since it’s dairy free. They also have a various chocolate drink menu on the list😍🤤

Went to Elisabeth last night! They close at 11pm so we decided last minute - now or never - to go.<br/>Wow what a treat. Such pretty desserts, they were all so soft and yummy! Not too sweet and too rich just right. My favourite dessert would be the salted caramel tart it was so caramely rich and creamy. I also had a hot chocolate that was so chocolaty delicious. The effort they put in their art is just amazing and passionate. I recommend to taste them out 👏🏾

Love the hot chocolate drinks, coziness, Christmas vibes and 80/90s music here. Opened late hours are a perk. Recommended 😍

Best hot chocolate in Auckland hands down! Came in on a rainy night and the hot chocolate instantly warmed us up. The cakes and tarts are awesome too. Best dessert place by far.
Saskia Fiu
The hot chocolate seemed like it was going to be really good and deliciously rich but unfortunately it was sour and bitter and not very good in flavour, this was awhile ago though so hopefully they have improved :)

Been to Elisabeth a few times now, but looks like they now have different owners. Went on a public holiday and was unsure if they were open, tried contacting on phone and instagram with no avail. <br/><br/>The place is still just as good in terms of desserts and hot chocolate. Serving sizes still worthwhile for the price and the space is nice and cosy. I do however wish the back area was lit better, I understand they want the dim lighting for ambience but a little brighter would be better to see the menus in. <br/><br/>Unfortunately the wait time last night was too long. The server (potentially owner) had advised a 10 minute wait but ended up being more towards 15-20 minutes as they only had her making drinks, and a few people were already waiting. <br/><br/>Otherwise would still definitely go back for a nice coffee hang, and would recommend.

Place is small and cozy. We tried their triple chocolate trifle. The quantity was too little for the price. Nothing else desert like was on offer unfortunately. The ginger latte was really good though!

I love this place

Every dish that we ordered was really delicious. Will definitely go back to try their other desserts.

What a disappointment... Came here for a quick coffee, I expected something decent based on the zomato ratings it had.<br/><br/>I ordered for two Flat White one with Almond and one with trim milk. The espresso was way too strong in both, I could hardly taste the milk. Below average presentation. Service was appalling as well, the waitress looked unhappy when serving us.<br/><br/>Their desserts might be good, but their coffee is a no-no.<br/><br/>Interior is nicely decorated, but the lightings were quite dim.<br/><br/>Taste: 4/10<br/>Presentation: 7/10<br/>Service: 6/10<br/>Ambience: 7/10<br/>Value for money: 4/10<br/><br/>Price $5 per person

After scouring zomato for an after dinner dessert spot we stumbled upon Elisabeth (the first two places we tried were closed so it really was third time lucky). Sitting in this beautiful little shop transported me to pre-Christmas Day London with the naked brick wall, industrial-esque shelving and the hanging lightbulbs. To put things simply, Elisabeth felt magical and oddly comforting. The great thing about this place is that regardless of whether you’re a milk chocolate lightweight or a 70%+ buff Elisabeth has you covered. I ordered the S’mores Hot Chocolate which was a bit of a wild card for me since I’m not the biggest marshmallow queen. The hot chocolate had the perfect balance of sweetness and the consistency was right on the money (watery hot chocolate is a sin and should be banned). I loved the chocolate shavings on the top of my hot chocolate as they created a thick layer on top. THE MARSHMALLOW was a true beauty. I’m not sure if Elisabeth makes their own marshmallows, but if they do then W O W 🔥🔥 (even if they don’t, they have excellent marshmallow selecting skills). This marshmallow was fluffy, light and perfectly toasted. It was delicious. Ev and I also ordered the Triple Chocolate Brownie Trifle AND IT WAS AMAZING. If you guys know Mrs Higgins brownies then you know that they are.... they were?? The best brownies known to man... that was until Elisabeth’s brownie took Mrs Higgins brownie and showed it what it could be. I absolutely loved this dessert and lowkey wish Evan had his own. The trifle came with an esspresso shot and milk to help ease the coffee strength. The two man team they had taking orders and pumping out drinks and desserts was a standout. The man who served us was exceptional. I really appreciated and enjoyed how he took the time to explain to us how best to consume the trifle and the different components involved. I’m so glad that I finally got to visit this beautiful shop and that I had such an exceptional experience (shout-out to the killer playlist you guys had going).

Amazing place. They make one the best chocolate milkshake. Customer friendly.

I haven’t tried the hot chocolates here yet but have come for tea/coffee catch up. Their chai latte is huge. It’s really comfy and cosy inside, just the feel you want when having a nice hot drink and sweet treat.

The best hot chocolatiers..I had the candle floss dark chocolate and my husband had the aztec one, both were amazing.. my fav place for hot chocolates in the town👍👍👍
HJ
Sweet tooth and chocolate lovers this is the place is one to tick off your list. Hot chocolates are there thing and there is something for everyone on the menu. Koenig going to be honest, they aren’t exactly cheap (setting you back $7+) but the quality of chocolate definitely shines through in there beverages. We struggled to decide what hot chocolate we wanted but the staff were helpful and gave us there recommendations. We went with the Persian fairy floss hot chocolate and the Salted caramel hot chocolate. As we took our seat, the small space outback was rustic and cozy but we couldn’t help but notice the chill and lack of heating (we dined in after 8pm).<br/><br/>Our drinks arrived and looked great. They fairy floss hot chocolate was an interesting concept! A mug half full of fairy floss and a lab jar full on the milky hot chocolate. You then have to combine the two to make your drink and dissolve the fairy floss. The drink was good! Very rich and smooth - and not to mention sweet! The dark chocolate did help with the sweetness though. The Salted caramel hot chocolate was yuuum!! With shavings of chocolate on top and a lightly salted caramel taste it was well balanced. Again it was very sweet though! You can tell the difference by the quality of chocolate they use that’s for sure. Saying that though, my husband and I would’ve preferred a smaller portion of both beverages as it was a bit too much for us. And therefore the price would become more reasonable. Overall we are glad we tried this sweet spot out and wouldn’t mind giving one of there desserts a try as they looked delicious

This cute little cafe in Kingsland is the perfect place to come on a cold night when the sweet cravings hit. We’d heard this joint has some of the best hot choccies in town and turns out the rumours were true...<br/>⁣<br/>𝐒’𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐇𝐨𝐭 𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞- This hot chocolate was everything you want a hot chocolate to be- rich, creamy, and accompanied by a massive toasted marshmallow. The shavings of chocolate topped this delectable drink off nicely. I was hoping that the hot chocolate itself would be a little thicker but that is just personal preference. 8.5/10⁣<br/>⁣<br/>𝐀𝐳𝐭𝐞𝐜 𝐇𝐨𝐭 𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞- This beauty of a drink was made up of Mayan spice blend chocolate, and contained prominent notes of orange zest, cinnamon and vanilla. The flavours balanced magically with the sweetness of the chocolate to create a simply divine concoction. 9.5/10

Ordered Elisabeth desserts through Ubereats and I was so glad it was open late. The quality of food I received was exceptional, you can tell they take care in making the eclairs. <br/><br/>I ordered a mocha eclair, dark chocolate eclair and a tiramisu. The mocha eclair is highly recommended, would definitely order again. The tiramisu was vegan I think and didn’t taste as nice.

Was passing by & couldn't help but notice the dessert in the cabinet which looked delicious 🍫.<br/><br/>So decided to try out their "Mochaccino" which was lovely but could have been a bit sweeter ☕.<br/><br/>Definitely a bit pricey.<br/><br/>Next time im definitely going to try out their vanilla/mocha eclairs from there, hopefully it's good because of the reviews on here & will re-evaluate my review 😊.<br/><br/>Ambience : ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐<br/>Staff : ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐<br/>Price : ⭐⭐⭐<br/>Drink : ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Staff are always very friendly and the coffee is always delicious. The setting has a cosy, homey feel to it. The Nutella tart was incredibly yummy.

Great drink options!! Been here a few times and it’s definitely the hot chocolate range that keeps bringing me back. The cabinet dessert range is a bit disappointing in comparison but has potential.
Saasha
I never knew hot chocolate could taste so good until I tried this place! They’re very creative with their styles which is also nice.<br/><br/>Cute little cosy place
Karen
This place is my favourite in winter! Its so cosy and perfect to go to for a hot chocolate after dinner. (I think I’ve tried every single one now!) The hot chocolates never disappoint and its perfect for a cute little date as well. Decently priced for a pretty big cup of hot chocolate!
Simone Yeoh
This is the perfect place for cup of hot chocolate on a cold winter night. As a dark chocolate lover, I opted for the one with highest cocoa percentage, that is the Dark chocolate mess. It was dark chocolatey delicious, one of the creamiest and tastiest cup of hot beverage I’ve ever tasted. The blueberry cake was quite refreshing especially after sips of hot chocolate. Will definitely be back again during winter !
Yuri
I love their staffs who are always polite and friendly even at a busy night.<br/>This place is very famous for chocolates drink but I really like their coffee too, and their chocolate sweets are soooo good, especially éclair!!!!<br/>I usually get it as my special treat
#fatlyfe
Ordered 3 different deserts to share. Thank god mine was originally the salted caramel cause I did feel like that was the best. Nice and rich but the size was probably good. The Nutella one had a bit of a bitter taste to it so must have had dark chocolate and the blueberry was just that blueberry. Not a fruity person
Naiimaa
I ordered the Iced Latte and my friend ordered Iced Mocha, we both enjoyed our drinks. The staff are welcoming and we loved the ambiance too!
Shen Bao Qing
Fantastic place with great atmosphere. Staffs were quite welcoming and I had the best tumeric latte ever here! Will definitely go back to try other things!!
Pucarino
Elisabeth is my favourite desert establishment in Auckland, and I have been there multiple times as a result.<br/><br/>The hot chocolate "messes" are a delight, with my personal favourite being ginger. Calling them a "mess" therefore seems to be a disservice. The cabinet deserts are also delicious-- especially the passionfruit cake.<br/><br/>On top of this, the service and ambiance are superb. The cosy atmosphere compliments the comforting desert menu, making it the perfect spot for a rainy winter night.
James
Best hot chocolate I've ever had! And the dark chocolate gateaux was pretty delicious too. Pretty cozy and relaxed vibe. Freindly staff. Awesome playlist too.
Pritika Sharma (Veg)
Awesome place. Beautiful atmosphere. Very friendly staff and outstandingly delish desserts. Rating 3 because it is a bit pricey! worth it if you don't go out too often!
Boz
The best brownies in Auckland and probably the country. The caramel ones are also 🤤. Great opening hours and friendly staff. The do sell out of brownies so you need to get them early
Stephy_NakiGirl
Elisabeth specialises in desserts & has both a menu & cabinet items. They also have a range of drinks with their specialty in this area being unique hot chocolate choices. <br/>We tried a number of dishes including the afogato which came with chocolate ice cream, the s’mores & candy floss hot chocolates & some desserts from the cabinet. Everything was delicious but it was a very much sugar overload. The hot choc is very very rich in itself
Cammy L
Neat dessert place! Really nice atmosphere, groovy decor and good service. They offer drinks menu of extravagant hot chocolates, range of flavoured lattes, cold beverages, a couple of desserts off the menu or cabinet desserts which includes macaroons, bon bon chocolates, cakes etc. I’m not so much of a sweet tooth so having a hot chocolate + a chocolate dessert cake was a tad too much. However they were both delicious! Would definitely recommend trying their hot chocolates! They also offer milk alternatives - soy or almond milk which is great! Takeaway is also an option. Great for catch ups/date :) Lots of restaurants near by so perfect to head here after for something extra. Parking is relatively easy as long as there’s no game on at Eden Park!
The Poor Foodie
Firstly I loved the interior decoration and atmosphere ❤️<br/>My friend and I spent too much time choosing what to eat but finally we made up our mind! I ordered s’more hot chocolate (the one with massive marshmallow :) and chocolate mousse and brownie gateaux (the purple one) and my friend ordered hot chocolate and brownie.<br/><br/>Hot chocolate was so nice and warm (great for winter) and the massive marshmallow went well with the drink. The mousse was so smooth in the dessert <br/>Time flies when you are inside the dessert place ❤️

Second time coming here. We had the s’mores hot chocolate and holy moly it was faaaattt amount of sugar, it hit all the spots. Next time I think Id just op for the normal sized hot chocolate but had to try the big one. This place is pretty much perfect on a cold winters evening.
Auckland Foodie
Lovely place for dessert. I ordered the S’mores Hot Chocolate and it was absolutely delicious. Sooo much chocolate though, almost a bit too much. Next time i will try one of their beautiful looking little cakes.
I_like_pickles
Cute cafe for sweet treats and catch ups. I love the brick walls in the cafe. <br/>The baklava crumble was delicious. I like the addition of the bright pink fairy floss to the dessert. The orange blossom ice cream has a pleasant flavour and the Rose syrup and sweet and fragrant.<br/><br/>The S'mores hot chocolate is creamy, rich and velvety smooth.
Steph Coulton
Popped in for some dessert after dinner out in Kingsland. We opted for a s’mores hot chocolate (amazing) and a salted caramel tart which was lighter than air.<br/>We loved the cosy vibe, it’s the perfect after dinner spot. Would be perfect for a date night or a casual catch up with friends. <br/>We’ll be back to try everything else from the cabinet and the fairy floss hot chocolate.
Emily
What a lovely little place! We came here on a Saturday night, and tried the s’mores hot chocolate, Turkish delight (fairy floss) hot chocolate, mango + caramel tart and chocolate brownie... everything was delicious and felt “special”. Staff were friendly and helpful and atmosphere is cosy and welcoming. Will definitely be coming back... this is the perfect haunt for a chilly winter’s night if you’re after hot drinks and sweet treats!
Rohit
Cute boutique cafe in Kingsland. Has great ambience, friendly staff and cool casual vibe to it. Ordered the hot chocolate and spiced ginger latte. Fantastic and perfect for a cold winter night.
Hevito
Bought these during the first Thursday Kingsland food fest for the year. Each were $6 sold outside their main store. Serving size was perfect and prize reasonable - Devine!
Gordon Geko
got the chilli chocolate mess and dark chocolate mess along with 2 tarts, the chilli chocolate was just chai hot chocolate, dark chocolate was nothing special either, at $7 a pop it was fairly disappointing. the tarts were ok, the bannoffie tart i got had no bananas, but taste wasnt bad.
Lizzie
my favourite dessert place in Auckland for delicious homey desserts! The brownie affogato is a must-try as well as the s’mores hot chocolate!! Definitely will be going back to this place constantly over winter! Can’t wait to try the apple crumble next time
T.B.F
I did another Uber eats in weather that kept me snuggled up on a Saturday watching movies, hot drinks and a sugar hit. Elisabeth in Kingsland had the goods to overdose me with. I ordered a Blueberry and Cherry Gateaux for myself. The colour definitely showed off its berry goods and the flavour was just right. Not too sweet and not too sour. 👌<br/>This place is known for delivery some seriously good hot chocolates so I'll be back to give em a go, minus the Uber delivery. 😎😁
Hannah Kraakman
Loveliest service from the staff here on Friday night. Were very helpful and nice even though they were busy. And the desert was delicious. Expensive but the service and food made it worth it :)
Jess Grant
Popped into Elisabeth for dessert on a cold stormy night and definitely got what we came for! <br/>Really cute interior decor with friendly staff and a very exciting cabinet full of treats! <br/>The dessert menu had slim pickings but added along with the cabinet desserts, there was plenty to choose from. There was a range of sweet flavours from apple crumble to decadent chocolate brownies and ice cream, meaning there was something for all types of sweet tooth (chocoholic or not😉). Also an awesome range of creative hot chocolates.<br/>My friend and I both had apple crumble tarts and a s’mores hot chocolate. Was a great pairing, because if we’d gotten chocolate desserts, it would have simply been TOO MUCH CHOCOLATE (if that’s even a thing😂).<br/>Only downfall is that seating is pretty limited, so if you hit a busy spot, you might luck out on a place to sit down and enjoy the goodies.<br/>Definitely can’t wait to come back and eat everything else they have on offer!
Marnelli
Quaint place with a simple, warm interior. Their sweets on display look incredible plus the big slabs of chocolate you can bring home. I’ve tried the bakhlava crumble from their menu, crazy sweet but with some interesting flavours. You have to try it if you have an intense sugar craving you can’t contain. They have milder sweets too, was a big fan of a raw matcha slice from their display. Definitely coming back to eat everything else.
Rishi Bhatia
First stop in Auckland and what an amazing place. Heaven for Chocolate lovers and amazing coffee, especially the brownie affogato trifle. Well done.
Love.Life.Daley
We were recommended Elisabeth by our hosts to combat our cabin fever, as it had been raining for days, and it definitely did the trick. Located in one of my favourite suburbs of Kingsland, this charming coffee and dessert spot is definitely worth a visit.<br/><br/>It's a really cool space and a great place to hang out with a book or a group of friends, with something warm to drink.<br/><br/>We didn't sample desserts so we will have to go back to taste those!
Pick&Mix
OMG. I’m in love. 80’s music, the best cakes ever and I’m not too proud to say I make a mighty fine cake myself and I could have eaten every item in the chill case. Service friendly and obliging. Truly can’t fault this place.
Liz Bradley
Consistently divine desserts and chocolate drinks, accommodating and delightful staff on the nights we’ve been in. The Black Forest cake wasn’t quite as delicious as we have had elsewhere, but perhaps it was just the bakers style. Loving the little seating space with all sorts of chairs and lovely lighting.
Toby Jug
Lovely looking cafe, helpful staff and a very tempting display of cakes. We nipped in to grab a cake on our way home and chose a Mille-Feuille. When we got home we found the cake rather disappointing. These cakes must be fresh (baked on the day of sale) or else the pastry sticks and isn't particularly pleasant. There was also a serious lack of cream and vanilla flavour.
Oksana Zhang
Came here at a bit of an awkward time of day; perhaps too early for dessert. But then again there’s always time for dessert. <br/><br/>We finally decided on the Salted Caramel Tart and the Mille Feville (forgot the name!), and my friend got an Affogato. The interior behind the counter was warm, cozy and inviting; you can find yourself snuggling up in one of their couches as if you’re at home. They have a mock fireplace and a basket of blankets which is perfect for winter. <br/><br/>The Mille slice is essentially a puff pastry with butter cream layers; the slice itself is quite big! The salted caramel tart was interesting—not as quite “caramel” as I expected and the pastry of the tart wasn’t as exciting to eat. The sizes of their cabinet cakes are generous compared to the likes of other places and they seemingly rotate their creations every now and then. I would happily come back and try their other delicacies! <br/><br/>Food: 8/10<br/>Price: 9/10<br/>Ambience: 10/10<br/>Service: 10/10

Came here on a Saturday afternoon, the place looks old but chic. Atmosphere was laid back. We ordered Fairy floss hot chocolate, S’mores hot chocolate, Flat white, Banana bread and Vanilla Eclair. Both hot chocolates were presented nicely and they tasted great! The pastries tasted good, eclair was not too sweet and I appreciated it when they asked for the banana bread to either be toasted or plain. Overall, we had a good experience! We’ll be coming back to try other selections from the menu...

Was so yummy and the place really comfy and relaxing, the staff provided an outstanding services , I liked the presentation of food there , they have a variety of drinks and desserts.

Roshika Java is the perfect hostess and I can see why this is such a cozy & warmly decorated place; she made it her own.  Every drink and every dessert is beautifully presented and tastes even better than it looks...and that is not easy to achieve! :) Thank you Roshika (and your staff) for making my birthday a memorable day! #withfondnessfromHamilton<br/> <br/>Featured below: dark chocolate and passion-fruit gateaux mousse - was DIVINE :)

This place is super cute and cosy. It's perfect for people who want dessert late at night as they stay open until 10pm. Everything is clean and well presented and the cakes and coffee are all good quality and yum.

What a gem, so happy this place is open till 10pm. <br/>Only popped in after dinner else where as I've seen a lot of amazing pictures of this place and needed a little look. <br/>Just grabbed a small slice from the cabinet but the place is set out so well, lots of seating, the counter has little cute chocolate treats to eye up, massive chunks of chocolate sitting on big wooden boards. And omg take a look at the hot chocolates they serve here, drool... <br/>I got the Nutella chocolate and caramel tart from the cabinet to take home. A real treat, so delicious!! Bit on the pricey side but so yummy. <br/>I will be back to try the hot chocolates.. and more of those slices.. and probably basically everything they sell.

This place is perfect for sweet tooth! <br/>Its really hard to find a cafe that do cakes n dessert in Auckland that closes at 10pm.<br/><br/>Luckily this place is a gem. <br/>I love the ambience and the staff are friendly too.<br/><br/>The cakes are really delicious and the hot chocolate is to die for. Im not mad at the price even tho its a lil pricey but hey....you get what you paid for!<br/><br/>I recommend 4 people max due to the size of the table and i will definitely go again 🤗🤗🤗

Really nice and cozy cafe. I liked the interior, it's a great place for a relaxing Sunday afternoon chat with your friends. <br/>If you like chocolate, this is your spot. On the counter you get welcomed by huge blocks of chocolate and you can't wait to get it served as a hot drink. <br/>I ordered a dark hot chocolate and a lemon tart. The hot chocolate pot had a decent size and it might have been the best hot chocolate I had in Auckland so far. Sprinkled with more chocolate on top, yum! The lemon tart looked delicious and got presented so nicely on this plate. The taste was not less impressive, fresh lemon flavour, soft, not too sweet. I really enjoyed it. <br/>Only minus was the pricing, 8 dollars for a slice of lemon tart is quite high-priced. <br/>If I would go again... definitely!

We went in at 9pm, there were still two other groups. The seating space beyond the counter is super cozy at night - such lovely warm vibes in winter! Food & drinks were also served pretty quickly. Read my full 🤔 on instagram: @rina.eats<br/><br/>Lemon tart<br/>I've never really had a bad lemon tart to compare with, but this one had a wonderfully smooth french pastry base that wasn't too crumbly or too buttery. The lemon was smooth and not too gelatinous, and the tart lemon flavor was refreshing 👌<br/><br/>Mango custard + salted caramel gateaux<br/>Although the mango custard glaze on top wasn't perfectly poured and cut around the gateaux, the textures and flavors of the entire cake was beautiful.<br/>The thick layer of salted caramel mousse the middle was So. Good.<br/>I don't really understand why they chose to garnish with white chocolate, almond slices, and the little seeds, but whatever, I won't sweat it cause the cake was pretty delish overall 🙄<br/><br/>My friends ordered hot choc with fairy floss, and chai latte. The fairy floss was like fur that melted into candy floss it was so light and fluffy! Chai latte was nice too , though the friend that ordered it found the ginger flavor a little overpowering

Great place for after dinner. Cozy atmosphere, divine selection of drinks and desserts in the cabinet. Heaven for chocolate lovers. We ordered carrot cake latte which was delicious and triple choc brownies. Yon is the biggest fans of brownies and we reckon this is one of the best choc brownies we ever had! Nyum!

The atmosphere here is great. They have a little corner with these beautiful grey armchairs and navy ottomans. Paired with wooden tables and a basket full of blankets it's the perfect place for a after dinner hot drink during winter. There's also a fake fireplace with fairy lights. <br/>Really reminds me of Christmas in here. <br/>I got the fairy floss hot chocolate which was either $7 or $8 so the price here is really reasonable. There's also different desserts and cabinet cakes here too. <br/>The service is good 😊

This place is so cute and cosey! Just perfect if you want something sweet and a coffee. I had the chocolate tart and the smores hot chocolate and it was really nice. Service was friendly and decor was great. Defiantly recommend if your in the area.
Mmm Mm MMMMMMM!
Gorgeous cozy lil place in kingsland! Loved the hot chocolate with rose candy floss. It was pure chocolate heaven! Everything in the cabinet looked divine I had a hard time choosing what to pick! Can't wait to come again!

This is one of the newest desserts bar in Auckland. I love that they are actually open till quite late for date nights, not a lot of other places do that ;)<br/><br/>The interior was cosy, artistic, and beautiful. It was a perfect mix of old and new.  The ambience was so romantic and relaxing, that time seemed to have stopped in the space. <br/><br/>There were no food menu, just a cabinet of dessert selections, and drink a hot drinks menu on the wall. Everything looked so delicate and delicious. I could not resist the 'death by chocolate' since it was their special. It was served with a scoop of chocolate ice cream which I thought was a total steal ;) It was the most rich and moist chocolate cake that I've ever had, not overly sweet, and the pastry was crispy and buttery in flavour.<br/><br/>Husband had the salted caramel tart which was totally divine. It looked quite small, but since the flavours were very rich it actually took us awhile to finish! The only thing I did not enjoy so much was the chocolate mellow puff, which just had marshmallow & cream inside, which I thought was nothing special. But that is just personal opinion, since I'm not a big fan of marshmallow or airy-fairy desserts :p<br/><br/>The hot drinks I could not recommend highly enough. Husband had the ginger chai which he said tasted strongly of ginger, which he was impressed by. I had the peppermint chocolate 'mess'. It was indeed a beautiful mess - love the trio of chocolate shavings. The peppermint was really refreshing. <br/><br/>My suggestions are: do not come during meal times, because they don't do full meals, literally just desserts & drinks (unless you want desserts for breakfast, which is totally fine). Another thing is that if you decide to order a chocolate dessert like I did, perhaps do not go for a chocolate drink as well, because that was a lot of chocolate which was a bit heavy by the end......(by my own fault). <br/><br/>But all in all could not ask for a better spot for date nights. Would totally come back again to try out other items in the cabinet ;)

I love this place! Cosy and warm atmosphere, perfect place to go for a hot chocolate in winter. Desserts however are way too sweet for me. It's a small place so always busy.

Really lovely place! Cozy and the dark hot chocolate was perfect and almond milk pepermint hot chocolate was even better. Great service! Loved the decor.

Cute dessert spot in Kingsland. Went here for Saturday morning hot chocolates. They were amazing. Made with real chocolate, I had the ginger hot chocolate, it was divine. My partner had the smore hot chocolate.. so good. We also had a toasted sandwich and a mango and salted caramel gateaux from the cabinet, both were delectable. Will be back.

It's about time more dessert only places popped up for late night coffees and hot chocolate. <br/>Elisabeth will not disappoint. We shared the dessert degustation platter between three. It could stretch to four people, but could also be devoured by two! Everything looked and tasted amazing. Lovely cozy warm atmosphere too - especially if you manage to get one of the cozy seating areas around behind the counter. The staff were friendly and relaxed able to answer and questions we had

Honestly..... hands down... the best hot chocolate I've ever had. Also, the other desserts are also on point. Definitely going to be a regular :)

Situated in the heart of Kingsland is this new opening<br/>Immediately I was impressed with the cute and cosy vibes of this place<br/>Cabinet had a fair selection of desserts and a smaller in house dessert menu available<br/>We had the chocolate mess hot chocolate and the cherry pomegranate soda!<br/>Both were delicious<br/>The choco mess was divine & extremely rich! Def recommend for any chocolate lovers<br/>The ice cream soda was refreshing and not overly sweet<br/>Would definitely come back for dessert!<br/>We also loved your little fireplace and the overall interior of the cafe<br/>Only if parking was easier :-(

I am giving this place a five star rating solely because it delivers the kind of hot chocolate I have been searching for my whole life. You can tell there is no chocolate powder involved, it tastes of pure melted chocolate. I choose the smores hot chocolate, which has a huge roasted marshmallow on top. This marshmallow melts into the drink over time and oh my god it is incredible. Also the atmosphere and service is good - however it is the hot chocolate that takes the cake here.

This is what was missing in Auckland - what an awesome place. So hard to choose what to have, it all looks divine. Went for the fairy floss hot chocolates and also had coffee (good) and treats from the counter which were all delish. Cosy and comfortable seating space behind the counter that you can't see from the road and it would be tempting to sit there all day!

I walked into this fairyland and was instantly caught on by the dark hot chocolate with dainty Persian rose fairy floss. The dark hot chocolate, made with good quality fair trade chocolate from the Sao Tome Regions of West Africa and Dominican Republic, was creamy…indulgent…and I hear “bottomless”. The luscious dark hot chocolate poured over delicate strands of Persian fairy floss, three words for you- liquid Turkish delight. I would go grab this bottomless baby everyday if I could. Maybe just pretend to fall asleep and ask for a hot chocolate every time I wake up. Haha<br/><br/>The couple of other things we tried from the cabinet are: Mango and Salted Caramel Gateaux and Double Chocolate Duo Tart. Both deliciously luscious, cravings satisfiers and mega indulgent.<br/><br/>Next time I'm here, I'm going to climb Everest aka get the dessert degustation!

This place has a relaxing environment that contradicts the busy New North Rd. I was intrigued about the CandyFloss hot chocolate. It's served with dark chocolate but I asked to have milk chocolate. The subtle Turkish delight flavour gives it a pleasant after taste. There's also an array of desserts to choose from. Absolutely recommend this place if you're looking for a cafe late at night. The staff are friendly and efficient.

Highly recommend this place. The ambience is cosy and inviting. The staff are most helpful, with great service. The dessert menu has multiple options and they have great coffee to go with it.

Such a cute little cafe with lovely kind staff. Besides the delicious desserts and treats, the coffee and atmosphere are great too. The best part about this cafe is it's hours, who doesn't want to snuggle up with a coffee in the evenings, hard to find coffee shops with late hours like this one.

A fairly new cafe, nice staff and nice cakes. Hopefully the menu will expand with more choices of donuts and cakes. Our order of cakes was average but the drinks were nice.
