Got the last dregs of the days beans in my burrito - dry and scraped from the bottom of the dish. They’ve been better in the past so this was definitely a disappointment. Was not busy but made me wait.

Probably the only Burrito place I go to, I’ve tried other places but it wasn’t that great. Nice little shop, friendly staff. I always get the the Chicken Burrito with Extea spicy sauce usually that’s my staple and go to, sometimes I get the Chicken Snack taco which is really good I recommend even though it’s a small portion for its price. chips and salsa also good :)

Very tasty but very pricey. I ordered a Mixed vege and El Verrito (both vegan) - both had its own distinct flavour which is a good thing. Service was excellent.

Used to love going to this place, used to come once a week! But went this last time and got Bean Burrito, they put it on the grill to make it nice and warm, but when I went to my car the burrito was ice cold and the cheese wasn't melted. Not very nice when its cold and the cheese wasn't even melted :(

I try and get a beef burrito with avo as often as I can. They are very tasty and filling and yummy. The people behind the counter are always very helpful and even bring the burritos out to our car on a cold and wet night. Thanks! Much appreciated. Price is probably a tad high but it's still worth it!

First thing I experienced was amazing service. Great people behind the counter and am awesome menu made even better by the employees broadening our choices from the menu. Took the burritos home and absolutely loved them. Best burritos I've had and amazing variety of options especially since I'm vegetarian. Highly recommended great food and exceptional service. Will be there again for sure!

AMAZING!! This is the first Mexican food place that caters specifically for vegans! Soy chicken, vegan sour cream and vegan cheese! Plus the food is made to order and so fresh! The man the served me was really lovely as well, he even gave me the address for where to buy mock meats. Excellent service and great taste! Very happy customer :)<br/><br/>PS; taking off half a mark because I got charged for the guacamole even though your comment underneath says veg burritos get it for free :

Went to order a $9 burrito to take away. Added re fried beans and shredded chicken...took the price to over $21!! For a burrito. No wonder there were no other customers! Guy behind counter couldnt really care less. Can see why this chain went out of business!

Burritos are a good size and tasty but disappointed that they charge extra for guacamole when ordering vegetarian burrito. Other establishments like mex tex and Mexicali don't do that. The speed is service was as expected. Price for value of burrito is reasonable. Price for value of veggie quesadilla is not good. $15 for pita and cheese?! Yes this is large but still nothing in it.

Been here a couple of times and enjoyed my burrito. I found it better than Mad Mex more filling and tasty. Still need to try the tacos to see if they are any good but other than that enjoyed my food. Staff was fast and friendly with my order. No trouble that's the way I like it. Looks like I'm going to be a regular customer 👍🏽

I'm vegan and lactose intolerant, and used to enjoy visiting The Original California Burrito Company in Manukau. Tonight however, was a complete disaster. Upon arriving home I bit into my 'vegan' burrito only to be met with a mouthful of cheese, not the soy-cheese my boyfriend has specifically asked for (I can confirm I heard him ask for it). Feeling sick, we quickly called 'Cali Burrito' to which we were told return to their store for a replacement. This isn't a short drive for us, but we don't mind the distance as vegan catering in fast-food is scarce. Upon arriving home again, I discovered that my burrito had been made incorrectly a second time and proceeded to bin it. Not worth the hassle and probably won't ever bother again. Not to mention the incredible cramping from consuming dairy!

Love anyone that caters to vegans! Being able to order a burrito or quesadilla with vegan cheese and sour cream is absolutely wonderful. The guacamole is delicious with loads of fresh coriander, garlic and lemon juice - I adore it, though I wish they didn't charge so damned much for it it ends up being quite expensive as the extra charges for vegan cheese and sour cream is a lot and adds up to be quite an expensive meal. Which is why my score isn't higher, along with the wait, it always take a ridiculously long time to get your food. Certainly not fast food. Though it's so delicious and fresh that I will always forgive them ;)

One of the best Mexican restaurants available in Auckland. I miss their many franchises - especially the 3 that use to be available in the city, which for 'family reasons' according to the news closed down all except for the one in Ellerslie & Manukau - and now, only Manukau is left. <br/><br/>I loved their menu. It was affordable and had all the generic Mexican food on offer, from burritos to tacos to quesadillas. <br/><br/>Their portion sizes are fairly big and very filling for one person. The last time I had an opportunity to dine at California Burrito was when they still had a store in Ellerslie. <br/><br/>I ordered their Chicken Quesadilla. It came out very quickly and the service was great, friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend as the size is big enough for 2 meals (one person) or one meal to share between 2 people. The meat was evenly spread throughout the quesadilla and it had a nice spice to it. <br/><br/>My only pet peeve is I did once find peas mashed up and mixed in with the avocado for our guacamole.<br/><br/>Sarah Reynolds #challenge<br/>

Omg this place is amazing! The burritos are huge, so you get great value for money. I ordered the vegan El Verrito and it was absolutely delicious! Unfortunately they had run out of the tofu sour cream but they gave me guacamole instead, but it is so great to see a place that is recognising veganism and is using soy cheese and sour cream. Yum!

Love california burrito! We go there quite often for dinner. A little something that is nice for a snack which I normally wouldn't think to get is a the corn chips with guacamole and salsa. We get them sometimes when people are coming over or sometime we just get the guacamole for when I make chilli con carne at home. I love it!

Came here on Saturday 6th of June afternoon. We had a burrito and saquedia (pizza I think it was) it was beautiful, messy eating our saquedia (in a good way). I really loved this place, the man was so kind and easy to talk to too we ate outside on their chairs we definitely will back and try other foods. well both a review.

Often come here for a great burrito. Usually get the rump steak burrito (med rare, with no spice - you can get either mild, medium, hot or no spice which is not stated on the menu) which comes with rice, beans, cheese, salsa, sour cream etc. and is always delicious (however sometimes the steak has been a tad chewy). The mince quesadillas are also very good, lots of flavour and topped with picco de gallo (I'd definitely recommend getting with a side a guacamole - yum!). I've also tried the nachos which were delicious but just slightly spicy - could be a bit too spicy for those who like things very mild.

Brilliant. Third time there, had the Beef Burrito - medium, YUM. Very filling.<br/>I tried it Hot once, but that was too hot for me.<br/>Partner had the nachos, he loved them.<br/>Flattie tried the Chicken burrito and finished it very quickly.<br/>Very happy and will def go back.
