Review Saravanaa Bhavan - Auckland Central

Amardeep Yadav
The overall experience was good. Staff is polite and helpful. Food is tasty, mild spicy food was served for my 4 yrs kid, he was very happy 😊 We ordered dosa, idali sambhar, and kids platter in lunch. We liked the food so we went again and had our dinner as well and ordered veg thali and chapatis. Chapatis were really awesome as we eat at home 😋

I was really happy with the food and thankful for the staff for taking on board my preferences of the palak curry to be vegan and mild. Really appreciated how we could place an online order but specify we want to dine-in so that the food was ready when we arrived. It’s really helpful to save us ordering time! The staff who served us were really polite and friendly too, I note their nicknames being the moon and the star. Aiming to come back regularly!

My soul just satisfied with this authentic south Indian breakfast buffet. I loved everything they served and good service as well. Try to skip the very corner table at the restaurant, they usually cant see you over there and it would hard to get the live dishes like puri and dosa.

I highly recommend trying this restaurant for an authentic South Indian culinary experience. During my visit, I had the pleasure of ordering the mushroom kathi roll, which proved to be a delightful and flavorful dish. The combination of spices used in the preparation provided a satisfying level of spiciness, while showcasing the rich and diverse flavors of South Indian cuisine. Although the dish had a slightly oily texture, it is worth noting that a judicious amount of oil can enhance the overall taste by complementing the spices. The chef's dedication to their craft, coupled with their evident passion, is truly commendable. I encourage everyone to visit this establishment and indulge in the delicious and remarkable offerings it has to offer. The staff at the restaurant were exceptionally pleasant and amiable. Their warm and friendly demeanor added to the overall positive dining experience.!!😋

South Indian flavours in Auckland! Quality has improved with food since my last visit which was 2 years ago. Madras Filter Coffee is good but there is room for improvement.

My husband and I walked past this restaurant and thought why not have early dinner there. It's the best decision we made during our 2-night stay in Auckland about a month ago! As we entered, we felt transported to India as the aroma of South Indian food filled the air. We simply enjoyed every bite of our meal. The service was good too. The next morning before leaving Auckland, we had no other restaurant in mind but this, and we had their breakfast buffet. Again, the food didn't disappoint us! Simply authentic South Indian food, and very friendly and helpful staff. We kept talking about the restaurant to friends when we got back to Wellington. We're not sure when our next trip to Auckland is but we're already looking forward to having another meal there! Keep it up, guys!

Visit to enjoy an authentic South Indian delicacy. Had awesome time.

The overall dining experience was satisfactory, with the food being of good quality. However, I found the pricing to be on the higher side in relation to the value for money. The Masala Dosa size did not align with the authentic Sharavana Bhavan style. I've assigned a rating of 2 stars for the atmosphere. In terms of personal preference, I appreciate the traditional way of ordering through a server, as it feels more personal and allows for suggestions on the day's special dish. This aspect of interaction, akin to my experiences at Saravana Bhavan and other Indian restaurants, seems to be missing. The current ordering system feels more like a fast-food setup, where orders are placed through a kiosk and delivered to the table.

Recently, my husband and I spent 4 weeks in Auckland and surrounding areas. Food has been a disappointment for the most part. Thankfully, Saravanaa Bhavan truly saved us from the misery of Auckland’s overcooked meat and seafood. Their dishes are always consistent in taste and quality. The second we came across it, we knew we would get some good, authentic South Indian food and that we got what we expected! South Indian Filter Coffee! Need I say more? I couldn’t stop at one. Had to have two at the least. Rasam, Idly, Vada, Sambar, Rava Dosa, Utthappum and Pongal were all good. Surprisingly, their North Indian dishes were not too bad. We ordered Aloo Gobi and Dahl Makhani and both were decent.

We had a nice lunch here. The service was a little bit slow but delicious food. You have to wait to be seated and then there’s a QR code at the table to scan, order and pay for your food.

Went there for the dinner today and the experience we had totally deserves a review. Why am I saying that?? Well, to begin we ordered poori, idly, chilli paneer accompanied with some refreshing rose milk(my favourite!!) ah almost forgot to mention about this new QR code ordering method is so easy and convenient. I don’t think that I have to brag how good the food is bc’ its that good you don’t even need explanations about it. Finally, the staff one of the best customer services I have had especially, in a time like this it’s fascinating to see such a hospitable service. Restaurant was quite packed when we went there even though it’s overwhelming they were talent enough to handle it. I don’t think that this review will do justice to their effort but needless to say that is one reason I LOVE THIS PLACE. At last when we went to pay the bill the lady manager (Uma) was kind enough to ask about our experience which I believe an extreme action of professionalism. Overall, I highly recommend this place trust me you’re going to explore a whole new dimension of vegetarian food :))

Food was amazing as always. Costumer service was the best as well. Trying their best to bring authentic Tamil Nadu cuisine (South Indian Cuisine) to New Zealand. Filter coffee really took me back home :)

We were passing through this restaurant and suddenly it started raining. We were hungry and we thought to give it a try to restaurant while it was raining. Ambience of restaurant is good. We had ghee onion rava masala dosa & paper masala dosa. Both dosas were delicious. This was the one of the best South Indian food I’ve tested in Auckland.
Vipul Jotania
The place is amazing serves vegetarian Indian food. Specialist in South Indian food. Taste is awesome. Prices are very reasonable. Must try their Ghee roast masala dosa and filter coffee. Ambience is very pleasant and warmly. Owner staff and service of fabulous. Thanks alot to the owner to start such authentic Indian food restaurant in NZ.

The best south indian restaurant of all time. The taste just feels home. Ordering at once saves you time. The order takes little longer time to server in busy time. Overall wonderful place to taste the southern Indian dishes. Just feels like home style.👍

Dont try anything other than the south Indian food here. Loved the filter coffee. Dosas are tasty.
Anant
Great food! Fresh ingredients, tidy and well laid out dining area with a tasteful decor. Prices are reasonable too! Their range of dosas is endless and I havent yet found a bad one. Kathi rolls are also great so are the other South Indian dishes on offer! Must visit!
Shonagh Lindsay
I just had the most delicious uttapam here, crisp and yummy and very affordable at $11.90 lovely staff too.

We went for dinner on Thursdays. We ordered poori and dosa among many other things. Food is absolutely delicious and the service is very good. Special mention to Uma and Hassan for the excellent service given to us. Uma is very friendly and she checked on us a couple of times. Hassan was our server, he is very friendly and provided a good service to us. We had a very pleasant time and already making plans for our next dinner out there.
FoodieBeast
When we arrived we were told their tables are all full and there will be a 30 minute wait. <br/><br/>When we said that's fine we'll go else where a table came all of a sudden. When we walked up the stairs and looked around the place literally had 5 - 6 empty tables. We were a table of 6 and big eaters I'll add. If that's how you treat customers then good bye from all of us. Food is average, service slow and pathetic at the same time.

HSB has been the quintessential family restaurant for residents/regular visitors of Chennai/Tamil Nadu, and the Auckland franchise does some justice. The food has significantly improved and so has the service. The unlimited breakfast deal is a good deal in totality and becoming quite popular amongst patrons, but management needs to put more staff to handle the crowd on weekend mornings to avoid substandard dining experiences.
Divya Jaiswal
Loved the decor. The food was really yummy, absolutely upto the expectation. The service was far and friendly. Highly recommended
Anu
This place is a nightmare!! Please do not waste your time coming here. We had ordered the weekend unlimited breakfast. We waited for 25 mins for the plates to arrive. That to after lot of requests. In the unlimited menu they give 1 idli 1 wada and 1 dosa and they say they will top up when we require. And then we kept waiting for what we needed for 15-20 mins for each dish. The staff doesn’t show any interest and don’t top up proactively.. you will have to call them atleast 3-4 times... they absolutely do not know how to handle the unlimited breakfast.. come for unlimited breakfast if you have unlimited time and unlimited patience! The photo is taken when we were waiting for our food.. :-( :-( go to saffron if you want to have unlimited South Indian buffet breakfast!
Bella Miriam
Great service as usual, everything on this platter was delicious, always consistent with the quality and taste. This is my second time getting the North Indian Thali, will get again.
Arpit Dhupar
The best authentic south indian restaurant in Auckland !! Loved the food and customer service!

The best restaurant for south Indian cuisine in Auckland. Tried a bunch of things from their menu and every dish was delicious and authentic.
Nikki B
I have been here few times and they always had shortage of staff during busy time and the front staff is very unprofessional. Last time I went with my family in the afternoon and waited for 25 minutes for the lady to come and take our order.

Yummmm...being in a western country and getting the taste of southern india in this amazing restaurant is just a treat....the staff is really friendly...special mention to Uma and Richa for welcoming and accommodating us. The service is quick and smooth...must try is Idli Vada Sambar and to end up with the chilled Falooda...really rombenala...really tasty..

Delighted to find Sarvana Bhavan in Auckland. We had the Idli-vada Sambar combo, a mango lassi, Mysore masala dosa, Chana Bhatura, Rava Kesri and Filter coffee - I know! We were quite famished! <br/><br/>All South Indian dishes were very well made. Were not oily, were served with very well prepared chutneys and a well cooked Sambar. The bhatura was disappointment! Don’t think I’ve ever had a more oily version of it ever before! Coffee and Rava Kesari were good too. <br/><br/>Service was a bit erratic! First part of our order come through in 5-6 mins. (the combo), but the dosa took more than 15 mins. Staff are very courteous and friendly. Although, we did have to remind someone to record the last part of our order (coffee and desert) as the previous staff member heard us but did not punch it in! The cooking time and the service issues might be due to the high volume of customers at the time we were there. <br/><br/>Overall, very good experience. Quality and authenticity of the food was much much better than what we’ve had earlier at Sarvana Bhavan in Sydney! Do try it out if you’re looking for a filling, value for money, vegetarian meal.

Sarvana bhavan is my go-to place in Auckland. I frequently visit here for breakfast or quick lunches. Best filter coffee, great South Indian food as well as amazing kathi rolls! The service is getting better, and I always enjoy my meals here.. Must visit!!

Firstly, I was amazed by the ambience the restaurant shared. It completely had the Indian aroma and the outlook of an Indian restaurant which is the first of a kind I have felt in the city. Coming to the food review, I must say it had a perfect South Indian base in the taste which left me drooling in the very first instance. Most important of all, the hospitality and the cooperation of the staff was top notch and pleasant. One of the members, Rohan Metrani assisted us to his fullest and ensured that we had a memorable experience at saravana Bhavan. His friendly and a welcoming personality indeed reflects the fact that excellent customer service is one of their core values.

Overall experience was average, very disorganised and mismanaged.

Love it, great food and service is good. Thanks for having vegan options but more vegan curries would be appreciated! Also great prices. Fantastic

Service was with a smile

The service was very good in the beginning. Not it is worse.    Staffs are not even coming to take the orders. It took more than one hour to serve the food.

Went with my family to try the food and have some mixed reviews: <br/><br/>Amazing dosa and coffee <br/>Indochinese lacked a lot of flavour<br/>Service needs work..... while friendly they were quite slow<br/><br/>Our food came out at very different times, at one point half the table had finished their meal and the other half was still waiting for their food. While the food was good, I wouldn’t say it was amazing. We also had a couple orders not arrive at our table. While staff were friendly and were working hard, the place does need to hire more people and have a more organised service. <br/><br/>Defiantly has potential tho!! <br/>
Darcarys
Day by day your service git extremely slow ,we ordered 4 dosas got 3 on time ..But 1 more took 30 minutes ...After 3 reminder ....Worst service ever....
Robin Jose Thazhathuveettil
Disappointed ..! <br/>Your Chefs need to learn How to cook bloody Sambar in an authentic style ??? <br/>Asafetida powder supposed to be added for a flavor not to kill human stomach ..!

It was an amazing evening celebrating my husband’s birthday. What was even more amazing was the staff. They took an extra effort to bring a special sweet with a candle on top when they heard that there was a birthday celebration going on. Specially want to mention Uma who was so friendly and efficient while taking orders, giving suggestions to our big group. Every dish was great. Would love to go again for the food ambience and friendly staff.
Shreyansh Shah
The staff was friendly and the food was quick and delicious, apart from the onion uttapam which had a little too much salt.<br/>Would visit again to try the countless other items they have on the menu
Ishwarya
Lives up to their promise of providing a true South Indian experience. Their watermelon juice is so refreshing 4/5. Gobi65 is delicious but make sure you have it fresh. Their dosa’s are 6/5. Visited this place 3 days in a row

Have eatean innumerable times at Saravanaa Bhavan in Chennai so this was on my waiting list since it opened. Outside view is good. Seating looked good. 4 of us reached at this Bhavan at 8pm and had to wait for about 30 mins to get a table and then almost another 30 mins for someone to take our order.<br/>We were presented with a huge menu which got us excited. Quite a few items were missing from the menu so we had to try only what was available. Our order was – Bowls of Rasam, Mini idlis, Medu Vadais, Rava Dosai, Cheese Dosai and Ghee Roast Dosai, Faluda for deserts and Filter Coffee to finish.<br/><br/>If one has to wait 20-30 mins for mains to arrive after starters then it has to be worth the wait. Medu Vadas were good. Mini Idlis were not dipped in enough sambhar and No Ghee at all ‘totally disheartening’, Dosas were soggy when we got them. Faluda was just ok. And to end it Filter Coffee was too sweet for me but others found it good.<br/><br/>Washrooms were not clean and messy. If you can open such a huge restaurant then you can spend some money on hygiene too.<br/><br/>Overall it is just OK for me so wouldn’t sweat over it. Worth trying once but the hassle of parking, long wait for table deserves better quality and should well serve the expectation.

Providing 1 star because at the end of a terrible experience, someone who came across as an owner, did not charge us for the meal (The manager still looked keen to charge though!). Thanks.<br/><br/>Heres what went wrong:<br/><br/>Whole family had no plates, 1 fork and 1 spoon to finish 6 items. Asked the person waiting on us a few times. But nothing. <br/><br/>Even went up to the floor manager on how do youThen finally, more than half way through our meal, few spoons. <br/><br/>Starter arrived at the end of our meal. :| <br/><br/>The “paneer 65” came crashing in the middle with no plates. When the plates fjnally came, the noodles went cold. When we protested, nothing. <br/><br/>The person waiting on our table seemed to pass on the problems of the operation onto the customer - “not having enough clean cutlery is not customer’s problem.” <br/><br/>As a result of all of these things happening, we felt badly treated. It felt like “throw food at you” service. <br/><br/>I dont have a problem with self service. In fact, I was looking for such a sign. But to charge a premium & then this experience was just not right (granted it was a sunday afternoon; 28 July’19).<br/><br/>Food quality was good as we expect from a saravanaa bhavan across the world. But because there was no coordination, the dosas came little cold not crispy.<br/><br/>It seemed quite clear to me that the kitchen operation was doing its own thing and the floor operation was completely chaotic. On the floor operation was nowhere in coordination with either customers or the kitchen.<br/><br/>Been to many Saravanaa Bhavans across the world and they are all popular (for good reason)and busy. Never like this.<br/>

Yum! Went here for dinner on Friday night and it was delicious. Food arrived in 15 minutes, the chutneys are very authentic too. Filter coffee tasted great, would have liked it a bit hotter but not a biggie.

Very much a diner style restaurant - noisy with slow, unhelpful service. To begin with, the menu is huge but only when the waitress took our order did we find a large portion of the menu is not available in NZ. Basically all you can order is a curry or dosa. The menu needs to be adjusted to the NZ restaurant or we need to be told what's available when given the menu. This left us unsure what to order so we asked for the waitresses advice, she confidently suggested a paneer dish when we had already ordered chilli paneer. We went with her second option, a vegetable curry which was bland and unenjoyable. Hakka noodles were edible but again bland and non inspired. I will say the chilli paneer had good flavour and spice, which is why this gets an extra star, but it was dry and the paneer overcooked. Food crumbs all over the floor, which happens to be carpeted. More attentive customer service as well as a higher level of cleanliness is the least they could provide to make up for the food being so average.
Rekha Nevatia
I love their food. Idli and vada are to die for. Best time to go is 11.30-1 pm as the food is absolutely fresh at that time. <br/><br/>South Indian thali is decent but one poori isn't enough and it's not bottomless unlike usual South Indian thalis. <br/><br/>Service needs a major revamp as they are heavily understaffed. <br/><br/>Food 4/5<br/>Service 3/5<br/>Value for money 3.5/5
Nita Rani
Lip smacking sambhar served with fluffy idly's. The Mysore masala dosa was really crispy, reminded me of what I eat back home. I would go back again if I were in Auckland.
Mizna Afzali
We were pretty excited to eat at this place because of all the hype as it is one of the leading south indian food chain in the world. We were happy with the taste of the food. We had ordered butter paneer cheese dosa, a north indian thali and a drink. The ambience is good and the place is quite spacious.. but we were slightly disappointed as our order came out really late and after the long wait the order was wrong. We were served chattinad dosa which wasnt our order and they forgot to serve the drink even till the end.. we waited thinking they’d serve it late because of the delays already happening but eventually no drink was served. There is huge variety of dosas and other items in the menu, will surely go again to try more with a hope that the service gets better.

We went yesterday night for dinner. We ordered 7 different variety of dishes, all were delicious. Food is fantastic, worth paying money for all dishes. Also service is awesome, all staffs, attenders are greeting us with warm smile, they are very friendly. We enjoyed that moment. We came out with complete satisfaction and we are very eager to go back. I recommend everyone whoever reads this review please visit Hotel Saravana Bhavan and taste atleast 1 dish,  definitely your taste buds will tempt you to taste that food again.
Vedant Patel
Great ambience, excellent food. However, the quantity (especially of Sambar and Chutneys) was minimal. This was not pleasing.  We have been to your other branches overseas (in Dubai) and the quantity was significantly more. We were hoping to recieve a similar amount as the chutneys and sambar are the hidden gems that make the dosa even more spectacular than it is. Hope you can look into this and improve on it

Good to see a vegetarian Indian restaurant in central city. Busy little place, so it's definitely a popular destination.<br/><br/>The service is slow, took almost 25 minutes for a masala dosa and a madras filter coffee to come through. The masala dosa was OK for the price. It needed more filling in the middle and also by the time it came out the dosa felt cold. <br/><br/>I've taken away a star for hygiene - one of the wait staff (possibly supervisor) sneezed a few times but never washed or sanitized their hands before serving a dish. <br/><br/>Will try then again at a later date to see if things improve.
Lalit
Most of the south indian cuisines we tried was good but didn’t quite like the indo-chinese food, it was bit bland especially the hakka noodles.
Evelyn Chen
This is hands down the best Indian restaurant that me and my hubby have been to in NZ. First of all, the menu is so extensive, I have never seen this many vegetarian dishes in a menu before. We ordered the masala dosa, stuffed capsicum curry and mushroom biryani. They were super delicious and the staff was awesome, she gave us some recommendation based on our preferences about how spicy we generally like our food to be. She also checked in afterwards to see if we were happy with what she suggested. The masala dosa is sooooo yummy that I can’t wait to go back again.
Nandini Chand
I ordered the masala dosa which I found quite nice however the reason for my rating is the dosa came out cold, served on a dirty plate and the place we were sitting had little bugs flying around, not impressed. The service was also very poor, wait staff not very attentive (there was only 4 tables occupied at the time), we had to go get our own spoons/forks from other tables and one of our orders was forgotten about by the waitress, had to cancel the order in the end. Also the masala dosa was definitely not worth the price, have had it on two instances now and both times came out cold.
Pragnesh Shah
We visited Sarvana Bhavan on 09 June 2019 for dinner. Very poor service. It was very cold outside but they didn't put/switch on the heater, hence we felt so cold inside the restaurant. When we told to the manager, he responded that "You might be aware about the Auckland weather". I don't understand how Auckland weather affected inside the restaurant.<br/><br/>We ordered Paneer-65 (Starter) and masala dosa. But the "Starter" didn't arrive till our main course (masala dosa) almost finished. We've to cancel the order. We had requested for extra sambhar, but for that we've to wait long. By that time our food got cold. <br/><br/>Lastly, we ordered for coffee, even coffee took so long to serve to us. At last I've to get up and ask on the counter, to know when I can get the coffee.<br/><br/>Initially I did write my feedback on their website but they didn’t bother to respond.<br/><br/>I'll never visit again.

Awesome food and great service! Tasted quite a few dishes, all of them tasted perfect! Maybe could have some combo offers so it can be reasonable to visit more often! Would be great if you become a Gold Partner restaurant!

Awesome and authentic south Indian food will be more happy if it's added to Zomato gold happy food worth for spending. Recommended to my friends<br/>

Love eating South Indian food here.<br/>Feels like going again and again.<br/>So far tried Medhu Vada, Masala Dosa, Milgaipodi Masala Dosa, Coffee, Rasam. All good experiences except these two:<br/>1. Onion Masala Dosa- size of Onion too big and that too raw. Would expect chopped and little cooked maybe golden in Colour.<br/>2. Mini Idli- mentioned 14 but served 13. And so little in size and taste was not the best.
Niki Devi
Food was great! Service not so much. We ordered an appetizer which we never got. Manager wasn't apologetic either. Service staff was setting up water flasks on tables that had no customers while I had to request for water. Not very hospitable. Hopefully they work out these kinks soon.
Dini
My friend gushed about this place so we had to visit. We went before rush hour which was a good decision. Food was great, service was fantastic but ambience was a little plain.<br/>Food: 5/5 (beautiful vegetarian!!)<br/>Service: 5/5<br/>Ambience: 4/5
Prashanth Pavithran
The highlights of the visit were that the waiting time was negligent, the staff was courteous/ friendly, and the food was flavoursome. The filter coffee was the usual great cuppa especially because we got what we had requested for i.e. "Strong". The taste is great and you won't get that in any other place here in Auckland, hence definitely worth the visit and a revisit :). The flip side was that you expect the food to be hot especially the Medhu vadas...<br/><br/>Well done team Saravanaa Bhavan. It was worth the wait...I'd still go again in the hope for the perfect experience :).
I Am Hungry
The Dosa, Idly and Wadas are good thats why i am giving 2 starts... however the thalis are not that great, we ordered $19 thali which came with a Stale chapati..which was just heated in the microwave. The thali had 10 different things which were either luke worm or uneatable...poor quality rice as well...could go next door to Ravis and get better value for money at $19...Another poor thing about the place is the seating arrangement...two seater tables are so close that they disturb your privacy and tables are too small for the dishes....while the big tables are always vacant...but they wont let you sit there......service is average and at times serving girls are just lost..they are not attentive..you have to keep calling them all the time..and servers are less.... another thing is the counter...they just have one paying counter...which slows everything....person at the counter does not  like listening to feedback..as they are busy in sussing out how to make the system and eftpos machine work...shame

Amazing food, ultra fast service, in-house bar and superb service. Saravanaa Bhawan iseverything that I want from a South Indian food place and more.<br/><br/>The aroma enhances the experience as soon as you enter the restaurant and authentic culinary experience takes it one notch further. A must visit place in Auckland if you are about South Indian Food.

Saravana Bhavan - there's more than just good food and beverage. The experience in there, the flavour, the atmosphere makes it absolutely memorable. The first time I stepped in, simply made me to sit back and feel the atmost South Indian savour. I took good breath and it was an out of the world feeling. I went there 4 times already, within a span of 2 weeks. I'm very much obsessed, shows how important quality is gor them. Saravan Bhavan Special Meal is definitely a must try. Vast varieties in Dosas, worth trying. Every single item i had till now, i should admit, I've fallen in love. Amazing is not worth a word to give for Saravana Bhavan.

Lack of professionalism, Poor Service! My mate and I came here for the first time, our food order was taken, he got his food and I kept waiting thinking I would get my food soon. But that time never came, he finished his meal I asked the waitress to cancel my meal. The Manager should have been slightly more professional and experienced to handle such situations as I had to explain 3 times about the situation that I have been waiting for 25 minutes for my food while. We just wanted to pay for what we had and leave! If you are keen to improve your business and focus on customer satisfaction, training your staff on order and food checks might work. <br/>We left this place frustrated and HANGRY.

There are things which make this restaurant best among all Indian restaurants in not just Auckland but all over New Zealand.<br/>- 100% Pure Veg Restaurant, I hardly find this in New Zealand. I don't prefer the nonveg smell, people eating meat next table, sharing the same kitchen to cook veg food etc.<br/>- The vast variety of food you can ever get in one Indian restaurant in New Zealand (almost 40 vegetarian curries, 20-25 types of Dosas and many Indo-Chinese food options<br/>- Excellent Quality and Taste of South Indian food - You won't get anywhere else in Nz<br/>- North Indian and other Thalis! Yes, you hardly get this in New Zealand.<br/>- Beautiful ambience, Felt like I'm back home sitting in a local restaurant<br/><br/>I would highly recommend this place! Must visit if you're local or even Indian traveller craving for Indian cuisine. I understand people will post negative reviews, Maybe they are mostly coming from other fellow Indian competitors.

Have been here thrice after it’s opened,<br/>a review was overdue. Saravanaa Bhavan is Chain of restaurant all across the globe<br/>serving south Indian food and surely it didn’t disappoint us.<br/><br/>Every time we go here we have had<br/>to wait for at least 20 minutes (not sure if they would be taking reservations<br/>in the future) but the food is worth the wait. On the opening week the entire<br/>service was a bit chaotic but the second and third time we visited they seem to<br/>have got it under control. The co-ordination between the kitchen and serving<br/>staff could be still improved but it’s fine for now. There have been no missed orders<br/>and the food arrives pretty quickly to your table once you have ordered.<br/><br/>We have order most of the South-Indian<br/>dishes on the menu except for the crazy fusion dosas (not a big fan of those)<br/>and everything tasted good. The Sambar Vadai and Masala Dosa were the dishes<br/>that stood out for me. My partner loved the Idlis too. The sambar and chutney<br/>that accompany most of the dishes tasted authentic like what you would get back<br/>home. Don't forget to try out the filer coffee in the end.<br/><br/>It’s pretty economical too which an<br/>added bonus. I would surely recommend this place to anyone who wants to have authentic<br/>South-Indian food, just be mindful of the wait outside. I will probably keep<br/>going to his place whenever I crave for South-Indian Cuisine in Auckland.

Wanted to see what all the hype was about so decided to take the family for dinner around 2 weeks ago.Had to wait a good hour before we were seated and this was a Thursday night at 9pm. What can i say, the food is definitely authentic south-indian food. But i wouldn't eat any north indian dish or indo-chinese dish at this resturaunt. The wait time for a dosa on average was approximately 30- 40 minutes as we hard ordered 3 dosa's among for the 4 of us along with some medu wada, sambhar wada and paneer. <br/><br/>Quantity of the dishes for the price you are paying is not worth it 🚫<br/><br/>Also thought i would mention that there's a lot of stuff on the menu that wasn't avaliable.<br/><br/>Would definitely go back to try other dishes out as the menu has a vast variety of different items including drinks & desserts.<br/><br/>The downside is the parking as it's very hard to find some around Hobson street as it's right in the heart of the city. There is a "wilson" paid car park though around 8 minutes walk down the road.It would be good for Sarvaana Bhavan to open up another franchise in a suburb where it's easier for people to get to and park and i can assure you there will be more people through those doors than the city branch.<br/><br/>Ambience : ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️<br/>Staff : ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (Improving)<br/>Food : ⭐️<br/>Price : ⭐️<br/>Quantity : ⭐️⭐

have been few times now service is getting better but still not up there, needs some work...<br/>food is good though...<br/>manager doesn't seem to understand concept of "individuals pay for their items" but insitst on one person paying the whole and we manage payment among our self... Can Management give him some kiwi lessons in hospitality please <br/>funny he said over $90 you cant split payment but no sign to say that at counter so he just made it up on the spot..plus our bill was just $89 for 6 people...

Amazing food! Great service! Will be back for more! The uttapams were scrumptious and the dosas were thin and crusty! Couldn't have asked for better food! Please always keep your standards like this 😋

We were very excited that this store was opening and we wanted to go as soon as it opened but we figured it would be busy and crazy and so we thought we will go after a month. Finally we went on a Friday around 11:30 and there wasn’t much people inside . We made the order and food came quickly and service was good .. just when we were finishing our meals . The whole place was full. Glad we came early and not during rush time. Overall our experience was good .. some items I did find to be a bit pricey for what we got. But taste was good.. the ambience was nice. Staff was friendly . Will definitely recommend and visit again<br/><br/><br/>AMBIENCE 5/5<br/>SERVICE/STAFF 5/5<br/>FOOD 4/5<br/>PRESENTATION 4/5<br/>QUANTITY/PRICE 4/5

Tried the food at Saravanaa Bhavan after hearing about it from friends. The service is pathetic with too long waiting time.<br/>Good for South Indian style (Idli and Dosa). North Indian and Chinese cuisine here is not good. Food was cold, roti and naan breads were raw.<br/>Will not recommend this for North Indian cuisine.<br/>Its a vegetarian restaurant and still the dishes in menu has (V) suffixed not sure what is this for.<br/>

I had read so many negative comments before I chose to go here, but all were false.<br/>Though you might have to wait in a queue to get through, the food is terrific and worth the wait. Mango Lassi and Mysore Masala Dosa topped my list and are the best. Amazing food, quick service, and lovely staff.

EXPENSIVE...VERY EXPENSIVE for what you get. Today after much speculation to go or not finally tried for the first time. Food was very delicious but what you get is very little quantities for what you pay. I ordered a Rava Masala Dosa ($13.90) and it was too small for it's rate.I had to order again for puri ($9.90) and again it was only two small puri's. The bill was total $23.80 and you feel like you really had an evening snack. Imagine if i come with my whole family of three, the bill would be some where around $100. I suggest the manager to first do a research of what the portions should be like when you include in the menu.I thought initially that this would be my regular food joint but now realize that once in a month would be a great deal

Beautiful (almost authentic) set up - does feel like you have walked into a south Indian restaurant with the open kitchen and service counters. The menu is huge - unfortunately for us, most of the dishes we wanted were discontinued. The food was mostly average. Perhaps had we not come in with the amount of expectations that the hype was build around, it would have been a pleasant experience! Lovely staff though - all smiles :) but the food could do with some more loving :)

adding to earlier review - since my first visit in May, I have had nothing but incredible experiences here... so changing my review from a 3 to a 5 star!!! So happy teething issues have been sorted out... keep up the amazing work guys!!<br/>1st review in May: Hotel Saravanaa Bhavan - was so excited to try the food here despite some ‘not so happy’ reviews from friends. The kotthu paratha was amazing, ghee roast dosa a treat as well with the sambhar being real yummy..... the vada missed the mark, was not crispy at all and cold. Masala in the dosas was yummy too... if only the wait times for getting into the restaurant (35 mins waiting in the cold) and the time taken to serve food can be sorted(our food took 45 mins to arrive after ordering) - this restaurant has the potential to scale to a 5 star!!!

A Big Menu but small plates!! I can sum up the experience in those lines. They have a big 25 pages menu but when you order the food, the quantity is very less even for a single person. Food is tasty and very south indianish as you expect but an increase in quantity or a decrease in price should be made to sustain. Management issues is well described on other reviews and I had a similar experience. Only giving 2 stars coz of the food taste.

Highly recommend this restaurant as food is wow & service is amazing. Variety of the menu is fab, I would also like to mention incredible service by Tulsi, she is fantastic. Pls do order coffee with the meals its the best!!

Bad service. Management are clearly having trouble with staffing and meeting the standards of the brand. First they started the restaurant 1 hour late, Dosa took just over an hour and the Pongal took just under 2 hours from the time of order. I can understand why the dosa is taking such a long time but Pongal I am really not sure what went wrong. <br/><br/>Honestly I think it’s the expectation around the brand and the fact that people of Auckland have not had proper Sambar. The taste was nothing short of a proper Saravanaa Bhavan experience for sure better than the other south Indian restaurants, the ambience was great, location is just perfect for the restaurant maybe not so much for the customers due to parking issues. The partners and the staff were friendly which was why I am giving a mixed review. <br/><br/>I genuinely sympathies and appreciate the effort but honestly the management should have expected nothing less than what they are dealing with.
Anirudh Gomber
Food was very average, quantity is very low compared to the price and the food doesn't satisfy at all. I wish I could give a star lower than 1, never coming back here again!
Lambo
Authentic north Indian cuisine. Giving 4 stars because they really need to sort out the ordering systems. We ordered 11 dishes for takeaway, and only 4 dishes came out. The lady serving us thought that was our whole order and bid us goodbye. Until we double checked and realised that we were missing dishes. So we told her the situation and she was actually really helpful in tracking the rest of the order....which only another 4 dishes came out again. This happened again and until we made sure everything we ordered have arrived.<br/>Honestly, quite annoying to have to cross check which dishes were missing. I understand that it's a relatively new restaurant and the staff are getting used to the new systems, but come on! They weren't even that busy that night!

I had dinner. Food Was Good. good Service. But I have a Question for management. Have they Ate Dosa at any other good south Indian restaurant ? I am Questioning their Serving patent. with Dosa you expect to have enough serving of "Sambhar" and "Chattney" which is the Main Taste of Dosa. The sambhar was served like 50 ML and have to ask waiterfor top up. Also the Size of Dosa is not enough for one time meal. So Either that its your Strategy of people buying more food or its extreme cost cutting. My suggestion you should serve more sambhar and chuttney on table for self serving like most south indian food chain like Sankalp, chennai Dosa etc. we were 4 guys on table had same opinion. Your food , Staff, Location, Ambiance is great. But by applying this small changes could make happy customers who would crave to come back.   I have rated only 2 star as i wasnt happy for what i recieved in return of the price i paid.

Went here with seriously high expectations as I’ve had saravana bhavan in India and overseas. Did not disappoint. It’s clearly a favourite among the crowd as well and the restaurant was fully booked out within 45 minutes of opening time.<br/><br/>While the food was mainly pretty good. They really need to improve the management as waiters looked quite lost and unsure about how to go about taking orders. Quite a few items on the menu weren’t available which kinda makes it annoying as well. Would be better to have a smaller more concise menu.<br/><br/>What we ordered <br/>1. Filter coffee - 7/10 - A little too sweet. Could use more coffee decoction<br/>2. Idli vada Sambar - 10/10 - Idlis were super soft and spongy. Vadas were crisp on the outside and super soft on the inside. The Sambar could use some more substance but not bad and I loved all coconut coriander chutney and milagapodi <br/>3. Parotta - 8.5/10 - The parotta was spot on, just like how it is served on the road side in Kerala but the potato sabzi it was served it was super bland and had no flavour.<br/>4. Rava Dosa - 10/10 - No complaints here, best thing we had from everything we ordered <br/>5. Onion Chilli Uthapam - 10/10 - Not for the faint hearted, they really do mean fresh green chillies. Quite the flavour combination bringing together the heat from the chillies and sweetness from the caramelised onions.<br/>

Finally after two weeks i went to this place. Such response from Auckland this hotel was housefull from day 1. Let me tell you this one is much better than other south indian joints. The moment you enter u can feel the south Indian ambience. Though music was a bit loud service was top notch. Greeted nicely and we went for brunch. Ordered medu vada onion podi dosa , onion masala dosa and last filter coffee. Chutney and sambar was delicious. Vada was just okay. Dosa was crispy and tasty. Place was clean and fresh and friendly staffs. Must try if you are in cbd. Kudos team

+<br/>A great place to have southern Indian food at reasonable prices. In fact the best vegetarian South Indian food I’ve ever had in NZ.<br/><br/>-<br/>Be ready to wait in que before entry.<br/>Delayed service which could be a turn off for some.<br/>Nice staff but business seems poorly administered.
Aniruddha.junnare
Best food. So many options to try from.<br/>Any issues with food, see the manager, staff may be new.. <br/>but good food, try authentic South Indian food here.
Vivek Thirani
Excellent food. Below average service. They should definitely increase their staff and also start taking phone bookings rather than making people wait outside the restaurant for ages.
Ambrose
Worth the wait. Food was just awesome .. amazing taste. The only problem being everyone was taking orders and that’s what is causing confusion.
Pushkar Gupte
The quantity was really less and the quality is not what you would expect from sarvanna bhavan. Had to wait a long time for food. Went home hungry.
Shan Antarvedi
Terrible experience. Ordered 5 dishes. Tali was supposed to come with puris. Gave us puris first but forgot the Tali and one other meal altogether. Had to approach two different people before we even got an answer about them and it had been 45 minutes by then. Twice, waiters aprproachd us to take away our food plates when we weren't finished (still waiting for food!). Told the duty manager (Richa? Or someone with a name along those lines) about it and she couldn't care less. Food was okay (what was actually served) and had cold puris with no meals. Service was absolutely awful.
Mike
Food is awesome but they don't have proper management which is essential in restaurant. It take almost 20 minutes to get your order. To pay, you have to remember your table no and no one comes to you and give you a amount to be pay. Need good management to handle customers.
Rajiv Ram
Awesome authentic Tamilian food. Had heard a lot of negative reviews about the service, but queues are expected when the food is as tasty as they serve. The sambhar is to die for. Would have given 5 stars, but I feel it is a tad expensive. $15 for a dosa which most of us could finish in a jiffy!! But worth a visit to experience authentic tamilian food.

Was looking forward to trying an authentic Indian restaurant chain and must say was highly disappointed!<br/>Would have scored zero, if possible. The feedback about wait time for food is legit as the food or drinks takes minimum of 25-30 mins.<br/>And the wait time would be worth it if the food was any good, but unfortunately the food lacks flavor and wholesomeness.<br/>Lack of Management and direction amongst front of house staff is very evident as all the staff are running around like headless chicken!<br/>We ordered a few south indian dishes such as dosas and indo-chinese dishes and both lacked any flavor. Thankfully their portion sizes are too small which makes it easier to get through (Sarcasm)<br/>Won't return as the place offers neither the ambience, taste nor value for money.<br/>
Prashant Suratwala
Highly unprofessional service and management due to lack of focus being customer Oriented. They are more money oriented business due to their brand name and do not value customers due to their big demand.<br/><br/>Took us more then 2 hours in their restaurant from the time we booked our name for table due to high waiting till the time we paid our bill. Plus the services were crap first of all nobody came to our table for 10 mins to take our order and finally had to call their staff to take our order. After ordering they brought items which were either not properly cooked, some in cold state and rest in improper manner then what they offer as per their menu. This also lead to inconvenience where we had to wait for them to serve things as per our order. <br/><br/>On top charge that they charge you extra $2 per person being public holiday which is uncommon practise in NZ hospitality industry.<br/><br/>I would not recommend them based on poor service and management even though they make good quality food however not worth wasting your time for over 2 hours to just be served and that too in improper manner where you had to tell them that this is not what we ordered.<br/><br/>Plus staff are not very friendly and helpful just running around here and there like lost people which reflects that management is highly incapable of handling pressure to over crowded public.
Harry
Very nice ambience but not at all satisfied with dishes served.<br/>We ordered paneer 65, veg manchurian but it was not at all like how we get in other indian restaurants. The food was cold and it shouldn't be served this way.<br/>We also ordered Coffee which was cold too. The veg manchurian had no veg balls and gravy was tasteless and watery.<br/>We mentioned this to one of the person while paying our bill and she just said sorry thats it !!<br/>Wouldnt go here again. Waste of money 😡

I was waiting since the board was up on Hobson Street almost an year ago. Been here today during lunch time and contrary to all the reviews here, the place, service food everything are top notch. Food came within 10 mins after ordering. And I must say it was the best south Indian tiffin I ever had in Auckland. I have ordered mysore masala dosa and idly. Both were awesome. One thing they can do better is increase size if idly. 😁

Went to this place yesterday for the first time.<br/>I must say I have had the best Mysore Masala dosa in NZ for the first time.<br/>Great service,Awesome food.<br/>From now onwards this would be my place to go for South Indian.<br/><br/>Food-5/5<br/>Service-5/5<br/>Ambience-5/5<br/><br/>

Before visiting I came across lot of negative reviews about the waiting hours but When I had being here I could realize that It must have been just bcoz of the starting week and the unexpected crowd.. But I must say it’s worth waiting.. We had ordered Rasa Vada n Mysore Masala Dosa which came within 5 mins and just had to wait for around 10 mins for paneer butter Masala n ghee rice but we didn’t mind waiting. The food was super yummy n soul satisfying.. Dosa was soooo crispy n yummy we just finished in no time.. Would love to visit again to try other recepies..

Waited 45 minutes for seating and food was really not worth the wait. Moreover our order got mixed up and had to wait another 45 mins for food. And the to ruin it all, the food was pretty average to below average

I was so excited to visit this place and it finally opened up. Was a little nervous on seeing the reviews initially on how the service was bad and the food took a lot of time to arrive. But still I decided to go and experience it myself. We were a party of 2 had to wait 15 min to get a table ,that’s understandable as the place has newly opened up and created a hype plus it was a Sunday. The food was awesome and arrived in just 10 min . We had ordered a cheese masala dosa (3/5) ,Mysore masala dosa(5/5) , their chutneys and sambar was perfect and lime juice (5/5). I Would definitely like to visit this place again and try out more stuff off their menu. Rated it a 4 star and not 5 because my dosa was a little cold when it arrived and not as hot as one would expect it to be.

Visited this place today afternoon for lunch along with my folks. Waited approximately 45 minutes and whilst anticipating that the wait shall be worth the hype, alas it was an utter disappointment. <br/>We ordered, Medu Vada, Mysore Masala Dosa, Sada Dosa & Saravanaa Special Thali and Filter Coffees. <br/>First off, the service was slack, the staff seemed confused & cluelessly walking around with food.<br/>Then came the food, well Sada Dosa lacked the crisp thin texture rather was oily and doughy. Sambhar had excessive salt and the chutneys were almost not-there I mean the quantity is a joke compared to what these items are priced at. <br/>The Mysore Masala Dosa was OMG disappointing, the red chutney which is such a trademark was way too spicy and unevenly spread which killed the entire taste of the Aloo Masala (which was nothing great to mention either) again dosa was not cooked enough!! I mean while you are made to wait for so long I definitely expect the service & food to more than compensate for it as well the hyped up reputation as well 🤷🏻‍♀️ <br/>Saravanaa Special Thali - came with just 1x Poori, salty sambhar, sour dal, some weird aloo sabzi, watery kheer (or whatever that was 😳) <br/>Medu Vada - nothing that I can say subtly, undercooked, forgot to add salt?! Lol and did I mention too Oily! <br/>Filter Coffee - was more like sugar and some coffee powder (not filter coffee) <br/>Overall verdict, will not recommend it to anyone. They either need to take a stock of the taste, menu (which I personally feel they should have stuck to their South Indian dish specialities) & Service. Very unfortunate since this place was much anticipated.

Went to see for myself to try the food but very dissatisfied and disappointed by the quality and taste bit too salty and cold food served apart from waiting for long time too.... really sad!<br/>

Average food. Poor service. We had to wait for a very long time for our food to arrive and when it did it was the wrong order. I’ve tried the Sarvana Bhavan in India and the overall experience in the Auckland franchise was very disappointing.
Anmol Wadhwa
The food is overpriced and there is poor service. I went there yesterday for dinner and had to wait close to 30 mins to get my meal. The portion size was very small and it didn't fill me up. If you try the branches in India and Dubai, you'll be thoroughly impressed with the service and portion sizes.
Pankaj Khanna
Just had a meal. Total chaos with regards to my order, several staff coming to the table to double check the order, staff standing near the table and bellowing to other staff, errors in their understanding. I have been consuming South Indian food for close to 4 decades and can definitely give this restaurant a thumbs down in quality and taste. Saffron is a much better fare and more authentic. Will not be visiting again.
Bianca Cross
Service was totally chaotic, waited far too long for food and when it came portions were much smaller than expected and half of it was cold. had to go through about 4 different staff before someone could take our order. Had to cancel a dish because it did not end up coming and we had to leave. For a global chain they need much better procedures in place. Gobi cauliflower dish was very good though.
Vivek Sambamurthi
Authentic South Indian cuisine which are reasonably priced. The owners and staff are friendly and curteous. The food is just mouth watering YUMMM! Highly recommended. Beats all other South Indian restaurants in Auckland.

awesome food. clean place. people who are complaining about long wait time, need to understand that this is their first week of opening and all Indians in Auckland want to try out this place..<br/><br/>they definitely deserve a 2nd chance...

This is a lovely place.. have been there thrice within the opening week...best South Indian food in NZ.. have maintained the taste and quality... there were delays and long waiting time, but still worth for the taste they serve... keep it up.. will define keep visiting again and again <br/>

Poor service and long waiting times. Shop says open from 11.00 to 2.00 o. Saturday however shop was not open till late. Food is good however service needs significant improvement for a world leading chain.

After waiting for so long and all my friends raving about this place, we finally got here. It took about 30-40mins for us to get a seat. The host who took our name, gave the table to another group of people who came after us, so we had to wait another 15mins for a table. <br/>We were seated there for about 20-30mins until we got someone to take our order. The manager or whoever the guy in the suit was (The dark guy), kept passing by our table numerous times and seeing that there are people waiting to place an order, didn't bother to come and greet or take an order. Finally, we got someone to take the order. <br/>This part is good, we've placed the order, and it took over 45 mins to get the food. An extra bowl of rice came first before any other orders. We had to resend the bowl of rice to heat up because it got cold. The coffee was what I was looking forward too but it's good, not great, but good. The dosas are good, lots of ghee but it's amazing but the service really sucks!!!<br/>The table staff kept forgetting our orders and what we ordered first came last, and what we ordered last, came first. We had to keep calling the table staff to keep checking on our orders so they don't forget. When the food came, there were no plates or cutlery given, we had to ask them for it. We were placed and there was no water served as well, had to ask.<br/>Overall the food is ok, but the service really really really sucks!!!! It's just a hype, no delivery of service at all. we had to wait for almost 2 hours for food!!!

The food is good... However they keep forgetting to ready the table. The worst part is they keep forgetting your order... Today's experience was my 2nd... We left without food tonight

After living for nearly 7 years outside India here comes a blessing. Feeling the authentic flavours of South Indian cuisine now in Auckland<br/><br/>The experience of dining while Suprabhatam playing in the background was the closest to home experience I have had in terms of restaurant food. The place is a bit pricy but is certainly worth it if you have been missing and are craving for some good South Indian food.<br/><br/>Been there couple of times since the launch date. I must definitely appreciate the management for improving their service slowly and I'm sure they will get there soon. Good Luck Team.<br/>

Amazing food, lovely staff, fabulous owner. There was a little while longer wait on our north indian thali which we had to do TA. Owner was extremely apologetic and wanted to wave that item off from our bill however we already paid for it. Anyways we’ll definitely be back for the fantastic food and hospitality given to us. Good luck to the management for this new venture and best wishes to the owner. Cheers🙏🏻

Food is amazing. It’s authentic South Indian food. We loved it. Ambiance is good. Feels like India. Nice experience. Really keen on trying their chinese next time.
Great Taste
Awaited since I came here. . Got a chance to have food on the first day. . Great taste as at Chennai. . Keep up your consistent taste and quality ❤️
Food For Soul
Writing to express my utter disappointment with this restaurant. An honest review<br/><br/>Pros: 1. Food is good.<br/>We ordered ghee roast masala and my friends ordered rava onion dosa and rava masala dosa. Also panneer harapaiza. Dosa's were good, especially the peanut chutney. But the paneer dish was nothing special.<br/>2. The on floor staffs were polite and friendly.<br/><br/>Cons: 1. Everything takes time, if you want eat to here please make sure you have a mindset of spending 3 hrs.<br/>It took approximately 25 mins for someone to come and take an order. And another 35 mins to get food.<br/><br/>I really dont mind the wait( i understand that its a new restuarant and it takes time to get things running) but what annoyed me was the owner (i guess) a white bearded man who came to our table to check on us. We politely advised that the food is amazing however the wait time is too long. His reply was "if you guys dont have time then please dont come. Earlier I told few customers it will take time and when it was 1 hr they started making ruckus".<br/><br/>There was no apology and no assurance that services will get better once it is organized, just bluntly asked us not to come.<br/><br/>The reason for my anger is before getting to our table we asked the floor staff if this will get delayed. We were advised NO as it isnt crowded much.<br/><br/>This restuarant is located at hobson street which is surrounded by companies and I guess by 12 to 1 pm majority of this restaurant customers should be working employees. So definitely they will have at the max one hour to eat.<br/><br/>My feedback to that white bearded owner is improve your hospitality, Be mindful and be polite. Word spreads very fast.<br/><br/>I have given 2 stars for the floor staffs who were polite dispite of the chaos and I really want this restaurant to do better.. after all it is from my country..

Very disappointing experience on the first day when my friend and I went there for lunch.<br/><br/>Was really excited for the opening of this restaurant from a long time and we visited the place knowing that it would be busy but keen to try it out <br/><br/>The wait for us to be seated was not too bad but the<br/>problems started from the moment we sat down. Had to wait for more than 1/2 hour to<br/>place our order since no was actually came to our table and we had to call the staff couple of time before our order was taken. <br/><br/>Waited for more than an hour and people<br/>who came after us were served and then we called the staff again and she just got my dosa order and my friends thali order didn’t come even after that so we just had to leave. <br/><br/>The ladies at the billing counter were apologetic and even though we found the service unacceptable we were ready to give it a try again but we came out and there was a gentleman from<br/>the staff and when he asked us how was the food<br/>we complained about us not getting food despite the wait but instead of being apologetic<br/>or saying that it’s the 1st day and they were not<br/>prepared, his response was and I quote<br/>“that’s your opinion” which was so<br/>rude and unacceptable. <br/>Dosa we had was decent but not worth dealing with rude people who treat their customers like shit even when it’s their mistake. <br/>Hope they improve their service given the good memories I have of this restaurant but won’t recommend or visit here again.

I loved my dinner here tonight. Having been to Saravanaa Bhavan in India I already knew what to expect from this place and it definitely did not disappoint. Lovely staff, friendly owner, vast menu, nice decor-every ingredient to make your dinner special. The restaurant was full but the service was so fast that we received our food within minutes. The food was delicious, fresh and the quantity was good as well. Can't wait to be back to taste a few more things off the menu.

Have been to this place recently after the first day visit (which was a disaster). This time we had decent 3 different items. We ordered for Rava Onion Masala Dosa (must try), Mysore masala dosa and Saravana Bhawan Thali. Food was good, ambience was good, however, the time taken to deliver is still a lot and somehow the staff has not learnt to tackle a huge crowd yet.<br/><br/>Order goofups are still a regular thing here. Hope the staff and order management is sorted soon.
