The cashier is very friendly and handsome 🙌! My colleague told me the fried chicken here is very tasty, so I had to try it! I ordered spicy mega meal with burger and it tasted great. It is in the West City shopping mall and the food court looks very clean. Highly recommended and I would definitely come back again!

Nice fry chicken especially the spicy flavor. Very juicy both wings and large fries. The meat very fresh because the bone and meat stick very well after bite. The service really good fast and perfect. Just something need improve the restaurant so chill. Chicken in burger so small just like with out bone wing size. Just cover half burger bread. Parking place really hard to find. However more tasty than KFC in personal opinion.

Very big and delicious pieces of chicken. Gravy is also flavourful and pairs well with fries and even the chicken too. Sad that they don’t have a branch in the east, but it’s amazing.

Always an excellent experience here. Staff are super-friendly and efficient. Store is clean and well kept. Large and airy enough to comfortably have a family meal. Their crunchy chicken is out of this world!!! Parking can be hard to find during peak times. Overall - pretty awesome!

Great value when comparing with KFC. The pieces are massive and the crispy skin is tasty. It is less oily than KFC too. Some of their combo meals come with a lot of food for the price. Really good. Will be back. Also has some brioche bun spicy Texan burger thing which was really good. Whatever spicy mayo sauce they put in there was so good. Definitely more spicy than some of the other more mainstream places who *think* they know what spicy is.

One of the best fried chicken outlets. The taste is much better than many of the competitors. A decent amount of parking slots are available, and there is a drive thru as well. Sometimes you have to wait a bit for fulfilment of the order but it's still worth it.

I am currently visiting from Canada and I decided to come visit the Lincoln Road branch this afternoon and I am very impressed. The food was amazing and the customer service was top notch, the lobby was impressively clean and I felt comfortable. I must admit the food here is better than Church’s Chicken back home. If I could I would give 10 stars to the manager - I think her name was Sara? Today I saw a man that was being problematic in the restaurant today and I saw how Sara professionally handled the situation, she was very calm and patient with the customer.

We did an online order and picked it up at the shop. We realised that they forgot the honey butter buns after returning so we had to go back. The food was nice though. The chicken was really juicy and had a nice flavour. The spicy one was spicy but it was mixed in with the original so it was a bit of guessing to find them. The potato and gravy was ok, there wasn't much gravy so it was a bit dry. The honey butter buns were really nice. great if you love the taste of honey. The scone/biscuit had a nice texture. The food was good.

So much better than KFC. Chicken is not greasy, it's actually crunchy, its hot and fresh. Burgers have real cheese. Gravy in potato gravy actually tastes like proper gravy. Chips are the right amount of crunchy. You really couldn't ask for much more.

Awesome customer service. Huge thank you to the curly haired young man who helped us out to carry the fifty chicken to the van! When I saw how many bags there were for fifty chicken pcs, I was quickly calculating how to get them all into our van with my little brothers help, but he offered to help us take it there. God bless him. Please give him a raise.

This is what happened tonight & this happens quite often when the staff does not to place the liquid container flat (I really don’t know how hard this can be to do so). Bc the lid wasn’t closed by whatever the reason, when I got home and found out my mash potato looked like this & spilled a lot in the paper bag. Thank God, luckily the paper bag was thick enough so the juice didn’t ruin my car seat. Another thing, because I reply perfect on of their special deal except I have to pay $1 to swap one of the item because not a fan of their fries. I asked 3 times at the drive thru plz swap the fries to one more mash potato. The staff seemly get me, but obviously she didn’t. I still did not get what I wanted, even tho I didn’t pay for that $1 bc I thought it was a compensation by them stuffed up my order. Now, I have a bag of soggy fries, and as well as half container of mash potato; 9 pieces of original chicken which supposed to be 10 pieces; last but not least 9 pieces of spicy wings. Honestly, I’m very disappointed. The customer service really needs some improvement. PS: like the 3rd photo stated, will you call that 10 pieces of original chicken with 4 drumsticks? Seriously? WTF... !!!

Went here for an after meal snack since my partner is a huge fan of their burgers. I wasn't a huge fan of their honey buns right after having it right out of the drive thru. I did heat it up a bit and have it after I reached home and felt it tasted a bit better then.

The new spicy recipe is too spicy!!!!!!! Really like the old spicy chicken! Sigh.

I ordered the 9 pc combo with half spicy and half not spicy. It was delivered fast but Half of the chicken looked like old chicken, chicken that had been sitting in a food warmer for a long time-i ordered near midnight. It was so dry that part of it looked like it had a white color to it-like white cobwebs or dust that was on it. It was disqusting. Barely any meat on them and the texture was gone.Out of the 9 pieces 4 I could eat, the others-they had added more old dried chicken thinking it would make it better havent been eaten. The fries was cold as well. Easy to take my money but no to providing quality food.

Food was manageable but .....system seem to be strange <br/>I have been there 5~6times ...never got food on time .<br/>Had to wait 30 minutes to get food.<br/> Even when I ordered through online and choose the pickup time. They just started to prepare my order when I arrived there.<br/>All they have to do was putting chicken and chips in the bag! Is it that hard?<br/>I hate waiting so always visit 3pm~5pm. Or ordered through online in advance. <br/>But it never worked for them.<br/><br/>One more thing.<br/>You have to check the numbers of chicken pieces.....6 pieces...7 pieces .....not 8 pieces I ordered

Easy 5 stars, however I religiously stick to the chicken (i.e. not the burgers) and go spicy 100% every time. I think they have the BEST option for the price in the spicy category.

honey bread is definitely the best bread i’ve had. crunchy and sweet. i would recommend! but most of the chicken were not juicy, they were dry. <br/>

Everything's bigger in Texas, (bigger and better).<br/>Texas Chicken, hands down the best fast food chicken place! I had the Spicy 3pce Chicken Combo; the skin was crispy, the flesh was succulent and juicy, the Mashed Potatoes were delicious and the Honey Butter Bun was a delight. All this plus Fries and a Drink for just $12.50 now that’s what I call value for money. Say goodbye to KFC and hello to Texas Chicken.<br/><br/>5 Stars, a belly full of food and a satisfying grin.

The staff here are bloody SLOBS. They act as if their job is so hard and they just cant wait to go home. Lazy and incompetent! It's just fast food fried chicken, not rocket science. Just bc we come thru the drive thru 15 min before closing they just want us the eff off as if we are a burden on them? We arent entitled to be treated like human beings bc of the time we go there? 15 mins before closing AND drive thru is not a burden on them. We didnt use a table, we didnt use a tray, all they had to do was pack food in a box and give it to us YET EVEN THAT WAS A BURDEN! THEY JUST THREW OUR STUFF IN THE BAG LIKE CRAP! Should have just gone to KFC bc Texas Chicken Lincoln rd is a bloody joke and they are LAZY and smug! Cant even be bothered packing the food... even KFC pack our food nicely, not throw it in the bag like literal POO. RIDICULOUS! Dont bother coming and wasting your money here for crappy service! DISGUSTING!!!

If you want some chicken tripping then this is the place to be as they sell something bigger than chicken buckets where you have options to have 20, 30, 50 or 100, it is affordable as well where prices start from NZ$50, NZ$70, NZ$110 and NZ$215 respectively, even though if it says in their poster it’s just for pickup don’t worry they let you still dine in on premises and that’s what we did.

Terrible service. They said they ran out of chicken? A chicken restaurant that runs out of chicken!? They said it would take 40 minutes for the chicken to come. Instead we got burgers which were very average tasting, chips were cold and soggy had no salt at all. The drink lids couldn’t fit the cups. The whole place was dirty tables all had rubbish on them and the bin was over flowing and looked like it hadn’t been emptied in a while. All the employees seemed to be mucking around and you could over hear all the conversation. One of them was locked out of the shop and my partner was the one that actually had to open the door for him. Very disappointed will not come back.

The chicken was delicious but we had to wait 20mins for the chicken to be made.. they had a hand washing basin outside the toilet in the restaurant dining area. Had a big parking area for customers to park. Recommend their gravy but not their cheese and bacon gravy..

Texas chicken used to be my favourite chicken place... when they opened ive been raving about it non stop to everyone.. chicken USED to be so good— so juicy and yumm.. but starting last year.. ive noticed their chicken SHRUNK big time.. i wanted to complain but i just shrugged it off.. so went back to have lunch with my partner and again... disappointed even more... chicken was not as juicy as it used to be.. and tasted really bland. <br/><br/>We ordered 3 pc each, but just could not finish so had to bring it home. I asked for a paper bag.. and the girl at the counter was not too happy about me asking for a bag and looked like ive interrupted her(that kind of face). She’s in the service industry, and thats not how you treat your customers. <br/><br/>And because of all of that, im actually thinking of going all the way to henderson to eat at texas chicken is not worth it at all. <br/>Food and service = thumbs down<br/><br/>The only thing that would want me to come back is the honey buns.

This was my first time trying Texas chicken and I've got mixed emotions..<br/><br/>The service was great! The staff were friendly and helpful when suggesting items from the menu however, the chicken seemed just a little too dry for my liking and reminded me of a rotisserie chicken youd buy in the supermarkets BUT this could've had something to do with the fact we ordered late at night and had to drive 30min home before eating.. maybe next time I'll eat fresh in store to get an accurate review.<br/><br/>Until then... 3 stars

Came in for breakfast today. Really wanted to try the honey butter biscuits and they were honestly amazing. The outer layer was super crunchy but the inside layer just melted inside of my mouth. It was super buttery but also had such a heavy honey flavour to it. Tasted like a honey scone. Loved it. The fried chicken on the other hand was quite spicy so I couldn’t really taste the original flavour of the chicken itself. Fries and gravy tasted average.

Chicken is always juicy! So much more so than KFC.<br/>I wouldn’t call the spicy chicken spicy. Not Asian spicy anyway! But it taste great.<br/>The spicy burger was good too but the chicken was much smaller than the bun. I finished the meat and there was half the buns left. <br/>I recommend to try their biscuit too.

The staff are always friendly, always have a great drive through experience. I love getting the spicy chicken and they are always big pieces unlike KFC. The honey butter bun is so good too! Overall food and service 👌🏽💯

We both like fried chicken (especially one of us) and as we were out west last weekend we took the opportunity of trying Texas Chicken, of which we had heard good things. We chose the 6 piece combo (spicy), tenders (spicy), and honey buttered buns. We were pleasantly surprised by the large size of the chicken pieces which were more than enough for two people. The chicken was moist, succulent, and enclosed in a very crisp coating, which was fairly tame in terms of spiciness but gave good flavour. The accompanying fries and coleslaw were both pretty good. The honey buttered buns (really scones) were very tasty as well. Overall good value for money and we will be back.

Chicken pieces are big but not as tasty as KFC. Gravy was off and smelled it. Offered another one - which we refused. Had to wait a while for the order even though I could see my readied tray sitting there some five minutes before being served it. Not good.

KISS KFC GOODBYE. Man what have I missed out on all these years. I used to think KFC was the gold standard when it comes to fried chicken but this beats it by a mile. Succulent, juicy, and crunchy on the outside. Not to mention the sizes of the pieces are very big!<br/><br/>Bought myself a bucket of 10 for myself to enjoy. <br/><br/>I'd rate this establishment five stars but I thought the service was rather standoffish and impersonal. Nothing to fret over though, if you haven't tried this make sure to give it a go! I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Queue at KFC was across the car park so we thought we would give Texas a go ... only one car in drive through and restaurant empty but still it was going to be a 15 minute wait for our order...<br/>Back to kfc<br/>

Very nice chicken burgers and chicken pieces. The food is not as greasy as other chicken places can be. The bun had a nice sweet taste but the inside was a little dry.<br/><br/>The food was nicely placed on the tray and the restaurant itself was kept relatively clean and tidy.

Had this for the first time last weekend. There was hair in the burger and the chips. When we complained the manager didn’t believe us because ‘the staff wear hats’. No compensation offered. Will not be back.

Food is alright. But they always run out of not spicy pieces. Have been overcharged multiple times. Never had the extras you want and PAY for! Lady once asked me if I was okay to take my drink without a lid. In the car ????? Would not recommend

Used to really enjoy texas but i feel its more of a 50/50 percent chance of getting tasty moist chicken or really dry stringy chicken. Chips and gravy are always good tho :)

The chicken is way better than KFC, not for the coleslaw and the fries though, but hey they sell chicken, if they have good coleslaw the would called them self texas coleslaw

had 3 Texas Chicken experience, this one has bad experice. Chicken is over cook and small... never back againt... 40 out of 100.............<br/>

So the food is delicious! but I've been through the drive through 2 or 3 times and all times it's taken a ridiculous amount of time to pay and receive my food. I don't know why it should take so long especially as 2 of those times I was either the only person in the drive thru or one other. The 2 times I've been inside I've also waited alot longer than I should have to so because of this I go to the westcity Texas chicken.

Food is great, like this better than KFC. Only let down is their coleslaw. Their gravy and honey buns are yum. Chips could do with a some seasoning but their chicken..... Fabulous!! Better off going through the drive thru.

Visited a friend around the area and we ate here.<br/>I'm always a fan of Texas Chicken, and it was great that the taste of the flavor here is consistent with the one in Manukau. The place might get a bit untidy at times well I think it should be clean as you go but the staff might need to take a look if they should already be cleaning some messy tables as it may seem to be uninviting to some. But still, Texas is great! A bucket takeaway is perfect!

This place is epic! Beats KFC in taste.. the chicken is fresh, juicy and hot. Love the taste. Just need more locations! Pretty economical as well.. worth a try!

i spent $30 on tenders & a fries saturday 4th march at 6.30pm & the Lincoln Rd shop was full. it was cold so i took it back, the indian manager mumbled something & out the back they went, they said no problem 10 minutes please. when i got it back she said it’s just come out & off i drove. the chicken was hot but somehow dry & tasted not right then i tried a refried fry oily & crunchy, i couldnt believe they actually reheated my $30 meal. poor management, dodgey food & poor customer service. i wont be going back even if the kiwi managers on who actually cooks awesome food, gets it right & cares about the customer experience. texas youre doing something wrong, get it, you wont survive the wild west here because you have no idea how it was won. i was ill that night thanks...

Friendly service, amazing chicken and the mashed potatoes are the best. The honey butter Buns are on par with biscuits from USA. For the price Texas chicken is the best fried chicken in town. Smell ya later kfry!

Delicious chicken - crispy with just the right amount of spice. However, gravy was a little too salty and the coleslaw was very dry and bland. It doesn’t come close to the coleslaw at KFC. Good first try though, will be back to try the chicken tenders and desserts.

It was pink with blood, and when i pointed it out to the staff the insulted me! It is unbelievable how rude the assistant manager was. I know cooked chicken and this was not it. Instead of telling your customers off how about you actually listen to what they say and take it onboard that maybe something is not right. <br/>DO NOT EAT HERE!!!!!

Always love trying something new and you can never go wrong with fried chicken 😋 We ordered the three piece combo + hot n spicy chicken tenders for $18.50. Very impressed with the chicken and I recommend hot n spicy as the original is quite bland. The rest of the ensemble was disappointing as the honey bun was just a scone with honey drizzled on top. Portions are on the small side.

Always come here whenever craving for fried chicken.. tender, super crispy, and not too oily like any others... try to clean the table/ wipe it properly. Other than that its gooodddd

My friends and I happened to be in Henderson, so we decided to check out Texas Chicken. For obvious reasons, we judged their food in comparison to KFC. <br/><br/>We got a mix of original and spicy chicken pieces. The first thing we noticed was how every piece was very crunchy, and even the breast was juicy. Unsurprisingly, the spicy version has more flavour than the original – it's similar to KFC's hot and spicy chicken so no real complaints there. <br/><br/>The potato and gravy here is more ‘herby’ than KFC’s, but I don’t think the potato element was as nice (both places probably use a powder to make it though). <br/><br/>I didn’t actually think their honey butter buns were that great. Yes, you can taste the honey glazing (and it’s nice when dipped in the herb-filled gravy) but I found the scone/bun a bit dry and it falls apart easily. <br/><br/>While we were there, I noticed the space was a bit messy; tables could be cleaner and the paper towels by the sink weren’t topped up for a while. <br/><br/>Overall, we enjoyed trying Texas Chicken and liked that it was value for money – but wouldn't go out of our way to have it again.

Best fast food fried chicken in New Zealand. The quality of chicken and chips are always top notch. Few things that disappointed me is inconsistency in the amount of gravy in potato gravy. Sometimes there is plenty and sometimes there is barely any. Service-wise 90% of the time I am satisfied with the service, very formal and friendly at the same time (although it sounds like it doesn’t makes sense). Having it on a weekly basis, hope they open more and get rid off greasy and crap servicing KFC.

Everything I love about a spicy fried chicken ticked all the boxes with Texas Spicy chicken - Crunchy and crispy with just the right spice. The spicy Mexicana burger is very tasty, spicy and nice. The service was fast and standard.

Been here a few times when we crave for fried chicken. Staff was quick and friendly, chicken was juicy and not oily which is always a plus. Honey butter buns were so good! I love it but my husband was not so fond of it, I guess it's just people's preference. Would come again whenever those cravings return.

Spicy chicken is good. But not that spicy. Chicken always seems juicy. Feel like its injected with saline solution. Potato gravy is better than KFC. The honey bun is so soggy and sweet. Chips are pretty good. Service is so slow so get a 3.5.

Amazing service and food. Staff was incredibly friendly and talkative and gave us the option of waiting a few minutes to receive fresh fries. Doesn't half ass it like most fast food places. 5/5

I've been wanting to come here for a while and i kinda liked it! <br/>Although the chicken was a big bland, I was almost just like KFC, but I really enjoyed the Mexicana wrap, it was nice and spicy and packed full with flavour! <br/>The customer service was standard for any fast food place.

Texas chicken is my favourite American-style fried chicken in Auckland! Only it! My partner and I always order the spicy one which is pretty juicy and crispy. I'm drooling now...lol...ha ha...<br/>I will try Manukau store tomorrow and I hope it is just as good! Yeah.......

Wanted an easy dinner and this was on the way home. Nicely updated (think this place has been opened for about a year now) good amount of dine in seating. No outdoor seating available. Special note: The bathrooms were clean and updated, my dad was impressed. <br/><br/>Purchased a 2 piece chicken pack (for a family member) and myself a BBQ Club burger combo, add on the mashed potato. A bit of trouble with the chip on my card when trying to pay, but used paywave and it went through. The drinks stand (where you choose and pour your own drinks via machine) was in a relatively tidy condition. There were no lids for medium/large cups. This was fixed promptly when we brought it to their attention. <br/><br/>My burger was better than I was expecting, I have had another burger from here and it was really average. Best part for me is the mashed potato and gravy. Definitely their signature item. The regular size which is essentially a small cost $3 and was about an inch deep by 2 inches wide(at a guess). It was alot smaller than I was expecting especially for the price.<br/><br/> Would I return? Only for that potato and gravy. I am not a fan of their chicken pieces at all.

The best chicken I have tasted in a fast food franchise. Succulent and tender pieces, including the breast. The combos are very filling and tenders are very generous sizes. Definitely recommend to all.

Just open recently and nicely setup, still clean 😅. Most of time, just for take away. Only dine in once. The spicy chicken is the favorite. The fries is always nice with big cuts. Recommended and will come back.

My life has changed after trying Texas Chicken! <br/><br/>My friends and I all got a Texas Sampler each. The chicken was so succulent and juicy, and the spicy one was just the right amount of spice. The chips were perfect, not too salty and a little chunky (this is my preference over french fries). <br/><br/>The highlight for me was by far the Honey Butter buns! Its pretty much a scone, so its quite strange at first eating it with chicken and chips, but I was amazed at how well it complemented everything. I'm a sweet tooth so I really enjoyed it, it was hard not going back to order more to take home! <br/><br/>The service was really good, the food came out fast and the restaurant was pretty clean. I'm glad there are only 2 in Auckland though, this place is dangerous! :)

Lin on road Texas chicken was busy but only one till was open and it took a while to find somewhere to sit. Good chicken though. Totally worth it.

This is my first time to have Texas Chicken, yes first time. I was curious how it is different from KFC, McD, Burger King and other fast food chains so I went to try. <br/><br/>This one at Lincoln Rd was incredibly busy, long queue at the counter. Next to the order counter has a lavabo and people are waiting to wash their hands too. <br/><br/>We didn't wait for long for our turn to make an order. We had the 4pc hot wings and an additional cappuccino. When our number was called, I was “amazed” with the size of the chicken wings, they are so small that I wanted to laugh out loud. If I ignore the size, they are actually quite good with a very crispy outer layer. Other fast food chains don't make such good ones to be honest. The fries were also better than others. When I ordered the coffee, I wasn't having high expectation on it because I just wanted a hot drink. It was surprisingly good like a barista coffee for just $3!!! The only drawback is the gravy on mashed potato and the extraordinary small wings. <br/><br/>Perhaps they were too busy so there were a lot of dirty tables and food scraps on the floor. However the washroom are very clean. <br/><br/>Price wise, youmight end up paying more than you thought at the beginning for a fast food but food wise they sure do better than other fast food chains.

Their prepared chicken tastes as if cooked with fresh oil and the oil is drained out making it feel healthier. It makes me feel less guilty and never felt heavy as having other brands of fried chickens. Place is neat and tidy. Staff are courteous and polite. They try their best to comply with my request around giving me thighs and drumsticks only 😂. Their spicy chickens are great.

I'm glad they don't have many branches otherwise I'd be eating their chicken daily! The chicken is much better than KFC's. The coating is gorgeously crisp, it just cracks as you bite into it. Their information says that their chicken is marinated so I was worried that the meat would be that horrible soft, pappy, fake texture that processed marinated chicken has but it was gorgeous; still lovely and meaty and resilient. I had their original but am keen to try the spicy version.<br/><br/>The chicken isn't greasy at all. I couldn't finish the swcond piece of chicken because I was too full so I wrapped it in a couple of paper napkins and put it in my bag. Then I went to a movie. Even after being wrapped up in a napkin for a few hours (no comments about food safety please), hardly any oil had wicked onto the napkin. My bag was clean and didn't reek of fried chicken afterwards.<br/><br/>Their chips are excellent. Really firm on the outside and soft on the inside. The honeybun (basically a type of scone or an American 'biscuit') was too sweet for me and I found the taste of baking powder a bit strong but I know that those are two flavours that I'm quite sensitive to so it's just a personal preference. I would've preferred a more savoury bun/scone.<br/><br/>The mashed potato and gravy was tasty with that not unpleasant babyfood texture of instant mash.<br/><br/>This will definitely replace KFC as my fast-food treat.

We ordered food via drive thru and ate it once we got home.. was about a 20 minute drive and the chicken was still super hot. Chicken was delicious moist and juicy unlike other fast food chicken places. The honey buns was tasty as well..I only wish there was more gravy ratio than the potato. I'll definitely come back here again.

I purchased a 2 Piece Combo Large, With a Plain Classic Burger on it's own.<br/>The two pieces of Original Chicken consisted of a Quite Dry, Stringy Rib cut and an ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS thigh. bit of a shame with the rib, really but the thigh was Amazing, a very juicy (not oily), well cooked piece.<br/>The crispy skin on both of my cuts were great.<br/>The crumbly Honey Glazed "bun" was a nice experience (think of a nice scone) and the fried chips were very hot with good crunch.<br/><br/>I was not a fan of the gravy over the mashed potato although it wasn't bad, just in my opinion tasted a little sweet and the consistency a little watery.<br/><br/>My Burger, sadly, was utterly lifeless. <br/>The chicken patty had no flavour, I felt as though it was more of an item to get you fulled quickly more than enchant your tastebuds and leave you begging for more. It was very bland. <br/>Luckily it stayed quite hot as I ate it after my other items and it's heat kept the burger moist enough that It wasn't a complete disaster.<br/><br/>The service was great and I was informed politely that I had an option of leaving a review on their site with my receipt and I would have received a complementary piece of chicken for my review (I still haven't taken them up on that offer haha)

I went there last night. Awesome customer service, well trained staff. I felt very comfortable when i was giving order. Fresh and clean establishment. Food taste very good not fatty like Kfc.

Not the kind of place I usually go to, but must admit it's chicken (mine was the spicy one) is quite well seasoned and moist. Apart from that, the rest is just regular food.<br/><br/>Chips were saggy and aioli had an awkward consistency and no flavour at all. Dessert and nuggets were OK.

Lovely service through the drive through, there was quite a wait for the food but well worth it as all the food was cooked well.I would advise if you want some nicely seasoned/spiced chicken to order the spicy as I found then original just a bit plane for me.chips were delicious and actually taste like potato, if you enjoy a good scone get their honey buns as they are one in the same and a nice surprise.<br/>Also a side note the chicken portions are quite large, we didn't know this when we ordered but will be more careful in future.

The second Texas Chicken I've been to so far, the first was in Manukau back in '15. I ordered the 3 piece spicy tenders in south side, which is the same thing I ordered here.<br/><br/>The service just was reasonable, the waiting time was pretty average. Like it wasn't long or short either. But at least I got my order.<br/><br/>The space seems new, it wasn't as clean at the time I got there (I came during the evening). There were food scraps on the floor, nothing major.

It's good. Better than KFC at first... but u will get sick of it if you eat it 3 days in a row like I did.<br/><br/>Spicier than KFC hot and spicy chicken too! That's the best part. Texas Chicken is far better than KFC. (food, ambience, service) it's simply incredible. They are real humans serving you and not any computers or robots taking your orders, Humans do have feelings, I hope they keep up to their service standards, i.e., always smile and be cheerful. After all, A cheerful heart is a good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. (Proverbs 17:22)

The food is awesome here but the lack of cleaning in the dining area is appalling<br/> They need to train their staff how to clean or get rid of the lazy staff and or incompetent management.

It's weird. Their spicy is much too spicy but their normal has pretty much no taste what-so-ever. Needs a few of the Colonel's spices. I like their tenders but they are so small!!! Especially when you order a family pack it really isn't worth the money - for the cheap meal though it's fine. Their Chipotle wrap/burgers are pretty good though. In fact the burgers are probably the best thing. I hate the chicken pieces. The honey butter biscuits are delicious and I really enjoy the  mashed potato too.

Absolutely fabulous!  Far better than KFC.  The chicken is so incredibly juicy. the honey bread roll is simply superb and the staff were extremely polite and friendly. Very neat and clean. A MUST place to try!  .

I don't usually review fast food places but decided to review Texas Chicken as the service was amazing! The server was so cheerful and friendly on a rainy Thursday at 9.45pm and perked me up after a long day - V different from my usual drive through experiences anywhere. I ordered the two piece tenders meal and an extra piece of chicken to try. I enjoyed the crispyness of the chicken and while it wasn't dry it also wasn't overly oily. Would definitely come back again.

The chicken was crumbed and fried very nicely it's crispy and less greasy. However once you get to the actual meat, there were not much taste to it.<br/><br/>The chicken doesn't taste fresh, it tasted very very frozen. The so call juicy chicken was just slimy and sticky. The potato mash tasted fake and plastic. The chips were poor quality cuts but cooked well.<br/><br/>The honey buttered buns were more like scones. Can do without it.<br/><br/>The hygiene in the shop was also quite worrying. We walked into the store with crumbs and sticky patches everywhere on the floor. It wasn't busy but most tables had empty trays, rubbish or drink spills on them. It's quite a disturbing scene.<br/><br/>The place doesn't close until mid night, but for some reason staffs there thought it was a good idea to put up all the chairs and getting ready to close at 21:30. Also staffs eating their own dinner and food around customer that's still dining there wasn't a good look at all.<br/><br/>We liked the fact that there's a sink available for customers to wash their hands without needing to go into the toilet! The facility is a must for all fast food outlets in my opinion.<br/>The service was good and the girl at the till was helpful when we were trying to decide what to order.<br/><br/>Well we gave this place a go at least. We won't be a hurry to go back there.

Since it was my turn to cook, lazy me decided to get takeaway.<br/>Good deal for a 3 flatmate home.. I ordered the 6piece chicken with slaw and fries, 3 honey buns (which were free on a promo basis)<br/>All this for $20. It has very big portions, a better alternative to KFC. Definitely oily and unhealthy appeal to taste buds. <br/><br/>But worth the money for a once in a while option especially when compared to other fast food joints.<br/><br/>Service was good - the lady was lovely and the place looked clean from my angle.<br/>Overall 3.5 or 4 ish.

Yummy! I love fried chicken and this fulfilled my fried chicken cravings. I thought the spicy chicken tasted so good (more peppery flavour) and the fried crust outside the chicken wasn't too sickening. Also loving their honey buttered bun! And the sweet chili sauce they give out. Something different. <br/><br/>Their combo prices are pretty reasonable and yay because we got free extra honey buns! <br/><br/>Can't wait til they move closer to city!

Manpreet Singh We had drive thru here at around 10:20 pm on July 12, 2016. We ordered 1 classic burger meal and 1 texas supreme burger and I would have to say that it wasnt good as the last time that we had it. The chicken patty was too dry like it was not freshly cooked. i think they just used the ones they cooked hours ago for our order. It was also not warm considering that we had only drove for 15 minutes from the place. So disappointed.😒

Since Texas Chicken opened in Henderson, my family bacame a regular customer because  of the crispy taste of the chicken and gravy which remind us of the popular hambuger chain in our country. The service is a little bit slow as always but it's just fine for us.<br/>But tonight is different. I ordered 12 pcs original fried chicken, the lady even suggested if I would like to order the spicy ones so I don't have to wait. I asked how many minutes do I have to wait for the orig chicken and she told me 8 minutes. So I elected to wait. My order number is 13-48. After 10 mins, I followed up my order, the male crew told me to wait for 1 more min. After another set of orders havew been served, I followed up my order and the other male crew told me to wait for another 3 mins and I've waited and waited and after about 30 minutes my order is finally called. The lady crew whom she took my order even gave me an extra for the delay but its not worth it so i decline the gift or just we say a bribe for the delayed service? I hope not. <br/>Your crew should be true to their words. When they say 8 mins waiting time, customers expect that orders are ready after 8 mins. I few mins late is just fine as I have said earlier but more than 30 mins is not good anymore. IT IS A BELOW PAR OR VERY POOR SERVICE ANYMORE. <br/><br/>Is there any way you could improve the always delayed service? <br/><br/>Disgusted customer

Better than KFC. I'm from the North Shore but have gone to Henderson specially for Texas Chicken. I like that they have hot n spicy as a permanent item unlike KFC. The chicken is of good quality and the chips and potato and gravy are also great. The honey butter bun is equally delicious. Highly Recommended!

Service is a bit slow. But the chicken is so tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. Really enjoyed the garlic butter chicken and sad that it's no longer available

Decide to go here on the weekend just went to see how it tasted and all ... to cut a LONG story short ... the chicken coating was crispy but the chicken peices itself was bland or it need more seasoning and so forth ... the coleslaw is about the same as get from paknsave deli n all ...

For takeaway food quality, this joint meets all expectations. Tastes so many choices better than KFC, without all the fat and oil leaking out with each bite. Well seasoned and chicken didn't dry out.

Food is not bad. I like their mash potatoes best. Chicken is ok crispy but not as fragrant as KFC. KFc is fragrant but not crispy. Haha. Gave a 3 star rating as they need to work on their service. Only been there twice. First time was when they just opened and second time was today. The first time round, waited 30 mintues for my order as they were a lot of people, when I went to ask them what was the hold up, they had forgotten about my order. They gave some extra honey buscuits as an apology. When I got home, my regular mash potatoes was missing from the order. So drove all the way back to tell them about this and they gave more biscuits and some chips to apologize.<br/><br/>Second time round I was there which is today, I ordered their new herb and garlic chicken combo A. This time they remembered my mash potatoes but gave me the wrong one, the combo was supposed to include their new cheesy bacon mashed potatoes but they gave me the regular mash potatoes. I didn't bother driving back this time to complain about it. The herb and garlic chicken was just ok by the way. Herb and garlic tasted like those powdered seasonings you get from the supermarket and then put in melted butter before basting the fried chicken with it. It would taste so much better if they used fresh herbs and garlic instead.

Came here on a busy Saturday afternoon. After waiting in the queue for a good 5 mins, I made it to the front of the queue to give my order. Unfortunately I had to wait another 7mins because the place was too busy to take my order. Staff there were hectically running around, packing bags of food, trying to catch up on the never ending backlog of drive thru orders. I was pretty much ignored, not given any acknowledgement. I saw a staff member using a tong to pull a tray of chickens towards him. Hmmmm, since those tongs are meant for picking chickens up, that looked hygienically questionable???<br/>So I finally got around to ordering my Tex Wrap. Had to wait another 5mins for my wrap too. It was a pretty decent wrap. Not much different to the KFC wrap.<br/>In the end, it had taken well over 15mins to give my order, pay and receive my food. Unacceptable for a fast food joint.<br/>Not impressed with speed of service at all.

Service could have been faster for a fast food joint. I had the Texan bugger and two price chicken. The burgers were alright but the fried chicken was very good. I would say better than most KFC joints

First time trying this place, and the burgers weren't just cold, they were pretty much frozen. I didn't realise take away meant you have to take it home and cook it yourself.

Ordered a combo. And individual bits. Service was good very friendly bur not much attention to detail when placing. Had the 2 piece chickens The coating was tasteless but granted the chicken was very moist. I wanted to try the potatoes with cheese and bacon, looked nothing like the picture and dry!<br/>Had a regular potato and gravy. Gravy was terrible. Tasted like a stock cube mixed with water. <br/>We decided to try the oreo bites....avoid at all costs. Not sure who created those ones. A ten year old maybe? Stick to KFC! <br/>Won't be back, too bland and tasteless.

So, we were wondering what to have for dinner on the night of Saturday 23rd January.  We decided to try the chicken place on Lincoln Road.  I googled it, and read the reviews.  Gotta say, some didn't inspire much confidence, but some sounded like people thought their way through the process.<br/><br/>When we arrived, the queue was to the external door.  My husband and I groaned on the inside, and thought "Oh no, just like KFC".   But we thought, we are here now, may as well give it a shot.<br/><br/>Boy were we pleasantly surprised!<br/><br/>We studied the menu, and the queue of people vanished before we had decided what to order.  The staff were friendly and helpful and didn't mind helping a newbie through the menu choices when we had questions.  Our order was assembled in a very short amount of time.  Then, they apologised for taking so long!   We were stunned - we have waited far longer for food before this.<br/><br/>The food was pretty good.  We got some original recipe, which was a little bland for my taste, but I loved the crispiness of it.  We also got some spicy chicken, which was much more to my taste.  The chicken pieces were a good size too!  The chips were hot and crispy, even after the drive home, and the potato and gravy was also hot.  The coleslaw was cold (as opposed to getting warm).<br/><br/>Even better, we had some left over chicken for dinner the next day.  It was still nice!  It didn't go soggy or fatty or anything.<br/><br/>OK, so I know Texas Chicken is going to be compared to KFC.  Our experience of it was very positive.  They are most certainly worth a try.  The staff were great and we enjoyed our meal.  Keep up the good work Texas Chicken Lincoln Road!

Finally got round to trying this place out. I noticed how this place gets compared to KFC a lot and it's obvious why. <br/><br/>Ordered their club burger (burger only) and my partner for their 2 piece pack and we added one honey-butter bun to it. <br/><br/>Chips - very different. Has some kinda texture to it (better than KFC's soggy chips) but it was lacking in seasoning.<br/><br/>Burger - not bad. They used proper chicken meat and not a patty so that's great. Of course, the chicken was lacking in seasoning as well so it wasn't as tasty. The bun was cold so that was a bummer 👎🏼 KFC wins this round. <br/><br/>Chicken - the crispy coating also lack seasoning. The chicken itself was quite juicy which is what we all like. We had one spicy and one original. But unfortunately it doesn't compare with KFC. The spicy one wasn't that great compared to KFC. <br/><br/>Honey-butter bun - LOVED this bad boy! 💯 Was hot/warm and soft on the inside. Crispy/crunchy coating on top. The honey taste and the warmth of the bun together is like heaven in your mouth 😋<br/><br/>Overall... This place ain't bad. But KFC definitely wins in the chicken department. But their honey-butter buns are definitely a win! -although I heard the one at Manukau wasn't served warm sooooo depends which store you go to I guess? Customer service here was pretty good too.

wasted money here.. ordered spicy 3piece chicken combo and 2piece original. spicy?? didn't exist and burnt. not even flavorful. so never again. waiting time was 12 minutes not it was only myself in driveway and no1 inside .so service was shitty aswel.

What Jimmy said really, its fried chicken, not bad not great. It is pretty juicy and the coating is nice and crunchy. Unusual seating arrangement...Very polite staff though and resturant nice and clean.

We purchased the 8 piece family combo which came with sides which was large fries and a large coleslaw. We bought on top a large potato and gravy plus 6 pieces of honey buns. The chicken was tasty, not greasy and crispy. Sides were as usual and tasted ok. The sides were small in portion considering it was a family combo. Honey buns are divine and unlike anything else I have eaten. We used the drive through so the service was quick and we didn't have to wait at all. Will definitely purchase dinner from here again as I did enjoy it.

For me it was pretty clear cut... KFC have the edge when it comes to sides. I'd prefer KFC's chips, potato & gravy and bread rolls any day. But when it comes to chicken, TC easily blows KFC out of the park. And to be fair, chicken is the reason we go to either of these places. The pieces of chicken are seriously huge. Like yes, you still have the standard drumstick, but the other pieces of chicken resemble Nando's "quarter chicken" pieces more than the scrappy chicken nibbles that sometimes find their way into a KFC bucket. And they do hot and spicy all year round!!! No more waiting for KFC to release their H&S for like 2 weeks every 2 years. Maybe buy KFC's sides on the way to get your chicken from TC. <br/>Special mention to their service too. The cashier who served us actually bothered to chase us down when she noticed her colleague gave us the wrong drink (we actually hadn't noticed ourselves!). She even went out of her way to bring my girlfriend ketchup. I can safely say their service is in a whole different league from any other fast food joint I've been to. Hopefully their standards don't slip over time.<br/><br/>Little tummy: To be honest, I went into TC with relatively low expectations. I love KFC and I still see Jollibee in the Philippines as the benchmark, so I kinda view any new fried chicken places with a shade of scepticism. TC kinda won me over though. Like I still think KFC has the edge, but TC definitely has its strengths. Personally, I prefer KFC's original recipe chicken and their P&G. I found TC's standard chicken to be somewhat bland, though their spicy chicken somewhat makes up for it. Their honey butter buns are also a welcome addition, though I'd like to see them served with sachets of actual butter. I actually preferred the chips at TC as well, though I'm kinda biased cause I love ketchup with my fries and KFC fries don't exactly blend well with ketchup. TC is definitely a nice change from your usual trip to KFC though.

First time trying their chicken, it's actually nice and massive. Chips are nice too. I just hope that they'll make more parking spaces because it can busy and if you wnat to dine it's kinda hard.

I went to this restaurant a couple of days ago with a few of my 'foodie' mates. My friends were extremely looking forward to this place and so could no longer delay the visit. However, I must say that the food is food. Nothing spectacular, nothing amazing. We ordered 10 pieces among the three of us along with 2 sides and the honey butter bun. The honey butter bun literally just felt like a soft scone with hints of manuka honey. The taste of the honey was too distinct which I believe could potentially put people off. The original chicken had pretty much 'no' seasoning. It was very pleasantly crispy, however, no distinct seasoning nor flavour. The spicy chicken on the other hand was more to my liking. Once again, it wasn't particularly outstanding but was ok. The potato and gravy 'slightly' lacked the flavour but the potato was very smooth. The coleslaw was well seasoned but once again could have been more flavourful. However, if there is anything that makes this chain standout is the 'quality' of their chicken. The chicken is very moist, tender and fresher than most other chains. All in all a decent restaurant but hard to see me going here regularly.

Simple and tasty. Been here twice. Despite busy, service is good and food doesn't take that long to come out. This is a fast food res. so there isn't much to expect but i understand how new workers are learning and stuff espesh with new open. I reckon proper training or something would have been better. I had someone who I couldn't understand at all (strong accent). Please have someone else do it...

No contact number?? Missing chicken in our order and no way of contacting them back unless I lug three hungry screaming kids back in the car to get the rest of our chicken!! Grrrr not happy

My husband has been raving about this all week and I finally tried it. I like that the chicken is crunchy instead of oily, almost like a roast. The honey buns are weird though. I definitely would not have them again. Not really sure how I feel about it to be honest.

We succumbed to the hype of the new fast food joint opening nearby and decided to check it out on a busy Wednesday evening. It took us 10-15 minutes to drive through which was expected for a new restaurant, the friendly service made the wait more bearable. I had the three piece meal which includes chicken, fries, potato gravy, a bun and a drink. The highlight was definitely the honey coated bun, it was simply delicious. Unfortunately the rest of the meal was average. The 'spicy chicken' wasn't spicy at all and the chips lacked seasoning. The gravy in the potato was also too thin which didn't blend well with the potato. <br/>I'll give Texas Chicken another go in the future but will chose a burger meal instead. As of right now, don't believe the hype.

We tried the Mexican wrap combo and 2 pc pack upsized (with honey bun, mash, chips and drink). All up it was only $23.80 for the two of us. It was hard to find parking at lunch time (mainly because the queue of drive thru customers were blocking the 3 empty car parks where dine in customers had already left) but in the end we were served quicker by going in store. Overall I was very pleased with the quality of our food. The chips were crunchy. The mash was smooth and buttery with enough seasoning for my liking. The honey bun was soft, sweet and SO DAMN GOOD. And the chicken was crispy, juicy and flavoursome all at the same time (even the original). If you were to compare it to KFC, it would make KFC seem horribly sub par. The only complaint that I would have is the expectation vs reality of the Mexican wrap's size. It comes in a huge box but it's a fair amount smaller than that. The corn chips inside the wrap are a treat though. <br/>In summary, I'm a huge fan of Texas Chicken. The drink fountains and menu options such as soft serve cones make it more comparable to the likes of Macca's and BK. Totally looking forward to going back sometime soon.

Tried this in Singapore and was very excited for it to come to NZ. Unfortunately it was very disappointing. <br/><br/>We ordered the chicken club burgers and chicken tenders. <br/><br/>They forgot the sauce for the tenders, which was very much needed as the chicken was sooo dry. <br/><br/>Burger was below average :( <br/><br/>I'll be sticking to juicy KFC thanks!

Brand new store that just opened along Lincoln road West Auckland. They serve fried chickens with biscuit buns and chicken burgers. The chicken tastes good and has bigger pieces. It also is less greasier than Kentucky. The butter honey buns are crunchy outside and soft inside with the right amount of salt and sweetness. It will be a big hit for chicken lovers.

So I gave in and followed the ever growing hype of the latest fast food joint to join Lincoln Road, Henderson. After all who doesn't love juicy fried chicken! <br/><br/>As expected with its opening the place was choka packed. We went via drive thru. <br/><br/>The menu had combinations of burger combos, chicken combos and packs. We ordered a 12 piece combo with coleslaw, half spicy half original and 10 chicken tender pack with Mash potato and a handful of honey buttered biscuits or as we know them as scones.<br/><br/>The good - That Potato Mash n Gravy was delish! Almost tasted like there was sour cream mixed into it. Well seasoned. The chicken piece sizes were bigger than KFC pieces. They are significantly more moist. I think they are brined before hand and was actually quite crunchy with the coating it had. The Coleslaw has a tangy sweetness to it and the veges look and taste fresh and then there are the honey buttered biscuits. Yummm!!! I can see myself just ordering these alone in future. <br/><br/>The not so good - lack of flavor or seasoning on chicken. Sad to say but even the fried chicken at my local roast shop tastes much better, but the tender juicy Ness of every single piece made up for this shortfall. Side sizes are smaller than kfc... so get ready to have smaller portions lol. Chips were wonderfully crisp but no seasoning. <br/><br/>Overall it was an enjoyable meal and we even had leftovers. I reckon it's because the chicken pieces r bigger!! Chicken isn't as tasty as KFC but the sides are yummy! So it has its pros n cons. <br/><br/>I would recommend and go back. This was our first time at Texas chicken and this henderson branch opened yesterday.<br/><br/>The chicken Club burger tasted how it looked, dry and poorly assembled. Fried chicken was pretty similar to KFC hot/spicy but with a crispier crust and the chicken meat isnt as oily as KFC - the desserts are very boring and are effecively scones (the size of a golf ball) with icecream.<br/><br/>All in all, nothing special but if you are yet to try you might aswell.<br/><br/>Buy hey... first review!
