Stumbled across this gem. I've been in search for bun rieu cua for a year now, so I'm really happy to find a place that have it on their menu + taste authentic. The price is reasonable with decent portion size. Really nice owners, they gave me water and a slice of cucumber after I accidentally bit into a chili. They have a nice variety on their menu, I'm making this my go to spot :)
Amazing Vietnamese food for Anyone missing the home country like me. So cheap for a tasty noodle with a lots of food. I love friendly owners here like my parents always giving their best to customers even though they speak a broken English. Please stop by and try if you come to the CBD. Me and my partner have food here a least once a week.
Tucked away away in Queens Court is this hidden gem. It has a straightforward menu and is run by a cute family. The service is quick and friendly and the owner was very nice.
The food was served piping hot and it was delicious. We got a bun bo hue and a bun ca. Both were very flavoursome. The portion sizes were generous and had decent amount of toppings. The bun bo hue was spicy enough but not too spicy, perfect on a chilly winter's night.
The prices are affordable and they have a little condiment station which the owner welcomed us to use.
I would definitely dine here again.
Nice and friendly service. Took a while for the banh mi to come out. The bread was too crisp and wasn't soft on the inside but the meat was flavorful and toppings were nicely balanced. Good value for money. Will be back to try their Pho.

First time trying their fried spring roll and all i can say is really yummy.. i love it.. can wait to try their other Vietnamese dishes next time
Absolutely love the deep fried spring rolls from here! When you dip it into the dipping sauce I always have a foodgasm haha
But in all honesty the food here is always good and cheap! Staff are always nice too:)
I’ve had food here many times and found the range of noodle soups very delicious, especially Bún Bò Huế and Phở. The Bún Chả and Bún Riêu were also yum. Bánh Cuốn was okay, a bit thick but I understand that it’s actually very hard to perfect it so all good. Fried rice was average, a bit oily. However, the caramelised pork and egg on rice put me off, as the pork was kind of tough (which I expected to be more tender) and the egg they gave me was a rubbery overcooked fried egg (should have been a hard boiled egg braised with the pork). Everything else was nice but I was especially disappointed about this dish. I hope they change it so that the whole experience could be enhanced. Overall I’d still give it a 4 stars for the other dishes (including Vietnamese iced coffee with condensed milk which was also nice) and great price.
This place is in a hidden food court on Queen street near Nandos across the rd from Aotea Square. The food is rich in flavour I definitely recommend the lemon grass chicken. They have spices to give it that extra kick. Friendly service and fast delivery. Will return to try the rice rolls
I am a picky Hanoian but highly recommend food here. I ate their Bun Bo Hue and must say it's the best in Auckland! Yum! Will take my family and friends here sometimes! Keep it up!
Tried "Bun Rieu Cua" and "Bun Mang Viet". Really tasty and authentic. Good portion too. The place is new but better than many other Vietnamese foods that I have tried in Auckland. Definitely will come back for more!!!
The Vietnamese food here is like home food for me, authentic, flavourful and non-fancy. I can get Vietnamese dishes which are my personal favourites but don’t usually get in other fancy Viet restaurants, like Bun Cha, Bun Thang, Banh Cuon, Bun Ca, etc. the fried spring rolls are awesome, definitely a must-try. Portion is huge at a very reasonable price (range 10-14$). Service is friendly and fast. Highly recommended, especially for students 😊
So happy to have found an authentic, friendly and cheap Vietnamese in the city! Menu was very different than your standard fare which is my favourite sight. What a great addition to all the other delicious and affordable options popping up around the city. Counter service was slightly awkward with the staff coming out a from behind the counter and hovering over us as we looked at the menu (it's a food court so this is seriously unnecessary). Though she was very sweet and friendly, and recommended some dishes. I ended up choosing the 'popular with Vietnamese ' soup option, bun bo hue. I really enjoyed the flavour explosion with 3 cuts of pork which added awesome varying textures - a great spicy kick and big serving size for $12. Soy milk with grass jelly was also really nice - not too sweet at all. Highly recommended - excited to try more menu items. Edit: tried out the "one Obama tried" pork belly with vermicelli and a bit of lettuce - absolutely delicious! Wouldn't compliance about a couple more fresh veges, but amazing flavour.
I’ve been here twice now. Just discovered this place really recently. Loving the authentic flavours of this store! Food tastes highly authentic and is run by really friendly
Vietnamese people. Just love the fact that the food tastes like home cooked meals!
Soups are refreshing, the noodles great texture!
Not to mention the reasonable prices they have for their dishes!
Highly recommended :)
The food is so authentic & delicious here , I love the little authentic dishes you can't get at bigger Viet restaurants , really good caphe sua bong too .
Our favourite little Viet spot now
Good service and authentic well-priced food. It's a shame they had run out of Bánh Cuốn and bread for Bánh Mì.
The Bún chả Hà Nội was great, the meat good quality and broth warm and tasty. The Phở broth was also great. Would highly recommend if you're looking for good Vietnamese in Auckland's CBD. There's also free Queens Residences wifi :)

Tried out this place with a TreatMe voucher. Ordered the Vietnamese Pho, you taste the beef broth so pretty authentic. Staff were warm and friendly even with a voucher, so 5/5 from me. Their Vietnamese iced coffee with condensed milk is reasonably priced and tasty too. Highly recommend!
Finally a real Vietnamese in Auckland city, taste is very authentic like it Vietnam, affordable and staff friendly. We have been looking for a place like this and it has finally happened.
I ate B7 menu.
It's a little bit spicy originally, but I put some spices for more spicy flavor.
Noodles and Meats were soft.
And it has coriander a bit, but it's not too much. Enough.
Located in a diverse food court that is now busy at lunch time (as my friend tells me, there’s huge turnover here especially during Covid). Hanoi Eatery is definitely a standout restaurant for me. I had the bun cha hanoi (pork) and my friend had the fried fish noodle soup. My bun cha was extremely tasty, there were two decent pork meatballs and lots of grilled pork bits, they also gave me a decent portion of rice noodles/greens and the nuoc Cham was super tasty. Great value/taste dish, this is also the BEST bun cha I’ve had in NZ and I don’t even like pork (haha). It doesn’t have a strong pork taste if that makes sense.
My friends fish soup was comforting on a windy day but lacked the generosity of the fish to noodle ratio compared to my pork to noodle ratio. I probably wouldn’t order the noodle soup again but would love to try their pho which I can imagine it to be tasty. Again, the bun cha was fantastic ! The only downside is they don’t accept credit cards so come prepared with cash on your card.
A good hidden gem on Queen Street. The food was made brought out very quickly by staff. Lot of sauces available. Would recommend the beef pho! Summer rolls were also a very filling option!
amazing food! First time to try Vietnam noodle soup with fried fish and fish balls! Nice flavor with a great amount of veggies! Tomatoes and green leaves (上海青). Especially in this time when vegetables are super expensive… appreciated! Highly recommend! Reasonable price as well!
We’ve been loyal customers since its opened. The quality of food never changes, always amazing food cooked with alot of love. My fav is Bun rieu cua: vermicelli noodle with crab meat, eggs, tofu and vietnamese ham. My gf fav is Bun Mang Vit: vermicelli noodle with duck and bamboo shoot. The broth is just amazing for both dishes. We also recommend Bun Bo Hue too! :)
We had the Pho Ga and Bun Rieu Cua. The food was excellent, the Bun Rieu Cua has great crab mince, and the soup is very flavourful! This location had the best vietnamese food I have had in Auckland!
I’m addicted to the chicken pho here 😭 I have been here several times now. The chicken is always tender and the broth is full of flavour. Their price is unbeatable in the CBD - generous amount of noodles and chicken. The owners are also friendly. Although it is located in a busy food court, do give it a try because you will not regret it.
This is small counter-serve Vietnamese restaurant in a smallish food court. We liked the Pho so much we ate here twice over a 7 day stay: something amazing about a giant bowl of noodle soup on cold & rainy Auckland days! Husband and wife team work the kitchen and man the counter. Both super nice! On first visit they were cash only (only cash I needed for our entire trip) but on second visit they took credit cards. So, am assuming the machine was down initially. Would definitely eat here again.
flavourful broth, perfectly cooked noodles but was let down by the quality of the beef. still the best place in town for pho, in my opinion!
Some of the best and homiest Vietnamese food you'll try in Auckland. I have been going to Hanoi Eatery since 2018 (when it used to be called Hanoi Corner). They have consistently been making great food for all those years and still continue to do so.
My go-to order here is the Rare Beef Pho, Egg Banh Mi and the Soy milk with grass jelly.
The Pho portions here are very generous, giving you enough that you may have to share with a friend. The bowl comes with lots of that clean but beefy broth. The Egg Banh mi trumps all the Banh mi i've ever had in Auckland. The omelette is soft, salted just right and goes so well with the buttered baguette. The pickled veges pairs well with the egg and the coriander is a must!
For $3.50, the Soy milk with grass jelly is actually such a treasure. The soy milk is definitely an asian soy milk - not like the ones you get in the supermarket - so its more soy forward which i enjoy. I never liked grass jelly before but in this drink it works so well.
The rice dishes here are also great. They give you lots of vege and a generous amount of meat. I always order too much food but somehow it disappears all too quickly because its so good. Think you'd be pleased with anything you order here!
