This is a little cafe in St Heliers that caters for nice simple food and coffee. If you do not want to spend a fortune on your lunch and want to keep it light I recommend this cafe. I had a chicken and avocado sandwich the bread was fresh with plenty of chicken. Cost $

The young guys running The Local Coffee Shop in the arcade opposite the St Hellier's Library are the best! Not only is the food great and the coffee to die for (not to say excellent hot chocolate) but the service is always friendly and prompt. What I particularly appreciate though is their compassion for a stranger in distress, as I was on one occasion when in the shop recently. Can't speak highly enough of The Local Coffee shop. Fabulous.

This is a fabulous place to go. It is a little off the beaten 'waterfront track', quiet, has great food, prompt and friendly service, and the 'something extra' that makes me go back every time I am in Auckland. The something extra is compassion. Recently I was in the cafe with three friends, jdiscussing the loss of someone extremely close to us. We must have been obviously upset. The staff were unobtrusive but quietly brought us a little extra something with the clear message that they understood and sympathised. i think this was over the top service. Really great people, great service, they deserve to do very well.

A superb place to enjoy wonderful coffee as well as spoiling yourself with delicious homemade scones both fruit and cheese.<br/>This coffee house is run by a delightful young man aided by his young assistant, they deserve to do well everyone is made so welcome.
