Review Zambrero Mt Wellington - Auckland Central

I stopped by to grab some dinner before heading out of Auckland. The place was empty but there were quite a few takeaway orders going on. I grabbed a power burrito with cauliflower with everthing. The sauces they had were slightly different. The burrito was ok in size and was more filling than it looked. They have a nacho burrito which looks interesting.

Have gotten takeaway from here a few times recently. Though this is probably not traditional Mexican food, they put their own twist on it, which is quite nice. The menu is varied with lots of options and the prices are reasonable. Staff have been friendly every visit. Will definitely return.

Great tasting food, and the staff service was excellent. Plenty of options and fillings to choose from, my friends an I really enjoyed our time here, and would recommend Zambrero for amazing Mexican food in Auckland.

Delicious Mexican food, friendly staff and really enjoyed the experience of dining there. Great value, and loved my burrito.

Amazing as always, pretty sure we are the worst customers that end up around 9 but the foods good! Toppings are pretty well loaded and the flavours awesome! The folks are always good, not sure what to get? ask them. Oh and they are environmentally friendly too, recyclable stuff, free range i guess.

Staff are friendly, very clean and food is fresh. Ordered a Burrito without rice but almost no meat. I ordered and was charged for double meat and ended up paying $20 bucks for one Burrito and small bottle of water, so not cheap. Despite the price the food is delicious and fresh. Would be great if you guys had a protein Burrito with no rice more meat and a bit cheaper. Will definitely come again.

Service was great, even with one server, they worked fast and was very polite.

Healthy and fresh Mexican food. Friendly and upbeat staff who seem to genuinely enjoy being there. Great value for money. Nothing like the sloppy mess that a lot of Mexican takeaway places serve up. Love the IQ Burrito with black rice.

Good healthy fast food option, it is our go to when we are too tired to cooked, but don't feel like greasy take away. Plenty of option to customise your meal (meat or vegetarian filling choice, type of rice, salsa, salads, sauces etc). Reasonably priced for the generous portion too.

The girl at zambreros at 11am was so lovely great customer service, and the food was yum!

I ordered 5 burritos but the girl puts them in a bowl. Food didn't look too appetizing after she grabbed the tortillas and proceeded to pour the filling that she put in the bowls into them. Too expensive for that kind of service. Won't be spending any more money there. Also, there was 1 person working and no customers both times I went yet, the work station was a mess both times. As much as I love a good burrito, this isn't the spot for me (only went there because it's convenient, now I'll have to drive further out if I want a super burrito). @Zambrero

This is the first time trying out at this store. The price I found a little bit high. The presentation was a little messy. There was only one worker when we went and the working station was messy with all the topping all over the place .. the place wasn’t busy. There was customers coming one after the other but it wasn’t busy. The lady just kept going to the back. She could have spend a little 5 mins to keep the area clean. The flavours and the taste and food wasn’t that great. I have tasted better Mexican food.

Freshly made burritos, hard and soft tacos all with extra meat and guacamole are soooooo good. Service is always on point everytime I go, staff are friendly and very talkative. Clean and spacious with a great atmosphere. My go to for Mexican on a weekly basis.

My first experience at this restaurant was amazing! Was greeted by two friendly employees who warmed me with smiles and were present straight away. I received great service and most unexpectedly, the food was delicious!

very busy outlet. server was friendly and attentive<br/>ordered the bowl. gave me extra because I dont eat rice. one thing however which irks me 8s seeing servers I use smal plastic spoons to serve with. just use tongs. $29 for all this! Decent pricing! And quite delicious food- not as filling or generous as other Mexican take outs but it is $2-$3 cheaper! <br/><br/>I love the business concepts of "buy 1 give 1" to charity! <br/><br/>

Really delicious food. I got a vegan soft taco and they had a few choices of what you want. I also got corn chips with guacamole and salsa. It is genuinely good food and I would come here again. There is also a range of other food choices around.

Good range of options. Service was really friendly. Nice taste but could be more Spicely. Only down side is the guacamole cost is high, but if this is part of how they finance the plate for plate then I guess that’s ok.

I didn't realise there were quite a few eateries - Tank, Abra Kebabra, etc. - in this complex at the corner of  Waipuna Road & Mt Wellington Highway. We had a classic bowl & a chikito. Food was fairly ordinary like the usual take-away Mexican food.  Comparing this with Subway or eateries in food courts, Zambrero is  just a different choice.

Food 2.5/5 : I ordered a Classic Burrito for 12.50. From what I recall it had white rice, beef(which was my choice of meat), salsa, cheese, jalapeños, salsa, sour cream, my choice of sauce(Red Chilli), lettuce and also beans, refried beans. Now overall, it wasn't too bad. Unfortunately, it left a bad aftertaste in my mouth which I'm certain was those refried beans. The beef was good, it was thin and stringy and flavorful, it just worked. But what knocked the Burrito out of the park, was everything else, the sauce, sour cream, salsa and other vegetables just tasted great. I could really tell that these ingredients were fresh, though me being very skeptical at first. Personally, I think 12.50 is too much for the Burrito, I would have priced it at like 7.50 for its size(which was a small portion in my opinion), but I understand the price is higher due to helping people in need which I respect. Overall, it's a 2.5, it would have been better if I hadn't had any refried beans inside and if it was at a cheaper price point. <br/><br/>Ambience 5/5: This is a great place to be. I felt very comfortable in this restaurant. It's hard to describe it accurately without actually being there in the restaurant but I would spend a lot of time here just chilling out with friends and family. <br/><br/>Service 5/5: My Burrito was made really quickly and served promptly which is great. But what made this perfect was the lady who served me. She was extremely nice and was very helpful. Top notch service. <br/><br/>Overall 4.16/5: The ambience, the service is really good. The food is generally good, just it's a high price point for what my Burrito was. Also when asked whether you want refried beans, definitely say no.

Not very authentic, cummin on everything ruins it.. Barely any meat and no carne asada available just cumin flavored meats and cummin flavored nachos deserve 1 star would not dine again

Great food, great customer recomendations, so many meal options good for everyone if your looking for a healthy bite to eat, totally recomend mt wellington 😊😊.

Went for lunch today, very tasteless food, mad mex is so much better.  Very disappointing as I love Mexican but this place lacks flavor and selection.

Gr8 chicken quesadillas . Also likey their Power Bowl.. Customer service is great..always a happy vibe.. we stop by here almost 3 times a week. Am addicted..

This was my pregnancy go to!!!! Burrito bowl with chicken DAILY sometimes even twice. I ate it sooooo<br/>Many times I prob couldn't touch it again. So yummy friendly staff totally recommend

Have been here several times, the food is delicious with a great selection of sauces and there are good healthy options. Yum. The staff are really friendly and the seating pretty good.

My father is in a rest home around the corner from here, and he would probably have starved to death if it wasn't for this place. The added bonus is that I love it too!  Fresh food, super-authentic but still really tasty. I love the squeeze of lime, small but tasty touch. Good for takeaway, eating in is fast-food style. I've probably been here about 30 times since it opened around the start of the year, and my only gripe is I've started to run out of variety. Friendly staff too, and usually good music.

This place has become my new local, whenever I'm feeling like something quick but not overly heavy. <br/>Good food, salsas and sauces are nice additions. Love that they are open fairly late and the staff are really friendly. <br/>Just quick, easy and tasty, haven't had a bad burrito yet.

Located in the new block of shops in Mt Wellington, Zambrero is a nice addition to the area. Love the look and decor of this place with wood and plant features. The staff are young and friendly and the service is your usual over the counter expectation.<br/><br/>This place is a great spot for a quick tasty meal. The salsas and salads are fresh plus everything is ready to go if your in a rush. We ordered the Chicken 'bowl', which was a good portion for lunch and had a nice balance of protein / salads. The rice was a bit mushy for my liking but the chicken and sauces were quite tasty.

Pretty yummy New Mexican place. Seems more authentic than the usual Mexican chains around. <br/><br/>Standard pricing (expensive) but the produce tasted really fresh and the meat was flavoursome and delicious!

Great place! The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The burritos and tacos I tried were full of flavour and the ingredients appeared very fresh. I was hoping they were as good as the one I had tried in the CBD earlier, but they actually seemed better! My friends I went with had never been but they were all pleasantly surprised. This shop is still considered new at this stage but I hope they are around for ages. Can't wait to go again!
