Review Meet Fresh - Auckland Central

Pretty cool desserts! Quite refreshing if you're looking for something out of the norm. We had really good service and we've been there a number of times as well.

Read the reviews and seems like different staff members have different manners. Some employees hate Chinese and some don’t. When we got in they were all ok. Staff members very polite. I really don’t know how much you would hate Chinese while working at a Chinese bubble tea shop? I think the food is awesome

Ordered the Q Mochi Snowflake! All the toppings were great esp the taro balls. Good amount of dessert, I shared this between my wife and I but could have easily fed 3-4 ppl. Def recommend

Stopped by after dinner since we were just down the road. They have a few options of dessert types as well as toppings and drinks. Decided to go with the signature coconut sago and I wasn't disappointed. The sago was made well and had a nice flavour. The taro balls gave it nice chewiness and the mango gave another layer of flavour, although they were a bit hard for my liking. Nice stop for good Taiwanese desserts.

This is one of my family favorite sweet treats. We visited both Balmoral and CBD branches. Some of the staff at Balmoral branch are rude and ignorant. Somehow, during the last visit, we were really happy with the new staff's service. The dessert were great as always. Love the taro and mix nuts.

The atmosphere was quiet when we visited, but we could eat something very big and delicious

Dessert from Taiwan, it’s very popular in Asian societies but the price is not cheap. It worth to try it. There are many different options regarding to the flavors, a lot them most KIWI never try them before. You can take this visit as an advantage trip. VH

I've come here many times and trust me on this, it is always too crowded and always too loud. It's very hard to find a seating, however the food is very nice. I love the food and can never stop having enough of it. The place is too small too and the bowls looks old.

Second time coming to Meet Fresh on Dominion Rd. Always seems to be busy (especially during the night) so service can be a bit slow while making all the dishes. But you definitely get a good dessert for the price; not too sweet but enough to satisfy a sweet tooth craving. Yes the bowls may be faded and old looking, but doesn't diminish the quality of the dessert that you receive. You know a place has good food when it always has lots of people and their bowls and cutlery are worn down!

My favorite place of all for dessert and shaved ice 👍🏻

Came to meet fresh for dessert and what we had was just above average in terms of quality, thought it was a nice treat and not overly too sweet which is to my liking. Queue gets a bit tight when busy as some tables aren’t spaced out enough. I wouldn’t mind coming back to maybe try what other things they have on offer 😋

When I come to meet fresh...to get refreshed (haha I'm so funny) I always go for the Icy Grass Jelly Signature - it's just got all the things I like and is quite refreshing with the ice and massive amounts of herbal jelly. Portion size is good, I'm always way too full afterwards (usually have dinner before this)

I ordered the waffles and they said no...they said I could only order about half of the menu on their menu. I drove their from south auckland so wasn't impressed. Very rude. I was given no explanation.

We used to came here once a week when Auckland didn't have so many dessert shop. Taiwanese taro ball was chewy and i always buy two concentrated milk ball put in one bowl which make flavour more delicious. Also recommend mini taro ball in ice jasmine green tea.

Have been here several times and it's been bad or barely okay. I had waffles this time, I was expecting it to maybe a bit soggy or melted because it was for takeaway which I could understand. But the waffles were completely burnt and they were fine with giving that to customers. I was disappointed since it was one of their more expensive item on their menu. Because it was for takeaway I didn't receive a bell instead a number was given and since the staff could barely be heard over the noise in the store the staff had brought it to my table. That was nice of them but I was told off for that. I was barely 2 meters away... Bad service and equally bad food. Would recommend any other branch.

Maybe because after the whole COVID-19 situation I’m a bit sensitive about crowded place and this branch didn’t separate the tables further away from each other nor did anything to promote hygiene practice. The tables were not wiped after the previous customer and air was not ventilated so the room was super crowded, stuffy and a bit smelly. Perfect place to catch a virus 😩 the place was soooo busy that it took about 30 mins for our order to come and the staff looked too busy for us to ask to wipe the tables. <br/><br/>But the desserts are always delicious and I especially love the strawberry shaved ice that’s full of tangy and sweet flavor ! Honestly I always love going to Meet Fresh but maybe not this branch as it’s too small and crowded. <br/><br/>

Dessert was nice 👍<br/>Quick service 👍
Sharon Ngai
Despite the long wait, which was fine because they were extremely busy. I arrive home and open my takeaway container to find that only half of the bowl is full of what I ordered. They tried to compensate by putting too much of the syrup. Honestly if they were running out I would much rather them tell us so that we could swap it than to be serving customers half of what they paid for. Sorry but I won’t be coming back. This is a common reoccurrence. It’s a big fat no from me.

We came here for dessert after eating dinner at Eden Noodle. We ordered 2 Purple Party (limited edition of herbal jelly with purple yam) and it was surprisingly good with condensed milk.
The Poor Foodie
My friends and I got coconut sago with mango, grass jelly with taro balls and taro ball #3 for dessert the other night. All were huge serving. The taro ball #3 was hot sweet soup with peanuts, taro balls and pearls. To be honest, in the menu they just wrote #1-5 instead of what the toppings were. So sometimes you just need to guess what those were in the pictures and picked a random one. Nevertheless, the sweet bean soup was not too sweet and really tasted like what I had in my childhood. The taro balls and pearls was cooked properly and chewy. <br/><br/>Somehow I always found what my friends ordered tasted better than mine😅 coconut sago with mango was my favourite. The black colour of the grass jelly actually comes from herbs (Grass jelly is sometimes called herbal jelly) with the shaved ice beneath the jelly, it was definitely a nice dessert to share with friends (or you can finish it on your own😉)<br/><br/>Food: 4/5<br/>Service: 4/5<br/>Overall: 4/5

No matter how cold it is in Auckland, I'll always be in the mood for snowflake ice 🍧 I'm one of those people that complain about how cold it is one minute and then a minute later you'll see me eating ice cream 😅 Tried the Q Mochi Snowflake ice ($13.8) at Meet Fresh for the first time! YOOO I've been sleeping on this flavour 😴 The mochi is soft and chewy despite how cold the shaved ice is! 🍡 It also comes with a jelly that adds an extra element of texture so you get the snowflake ice melting, chewiness of the mochi and the bounciness of the jelly all in one bite. The pudding has amazing texture and isn't overwhelmingly sweet either. The shaved ice definitely has a condensed milk and light palm sugar flavoured syrup which compliments the dish well 👌🏼 I vibe so hard with this dessert 🔥 Honestly my new favourite dessert!<br/><br/>Q Mochi Shaved ice rating: 12/10 we ordered another bowl after demolishing this one 😏<br/><br/>Ambience: 7/10 ✨<br/><br/>Customer service: N/A my sister ordered both times 😂

Desserts after dinner - brown sugar pearl milk tea is the best and their pearl is really nice. I love it and getting addicted to it. Denny Setiawan should go here more often

My go to spot on Dominion rd for Asian dessert after dinner. I have tried other dishes before but today my friends and I ordered: <br/>1) Coconut sago with mango- sago was well cooked and not too soggy, mango pieces were decent but didn’t taste very fresh <br/>2) Taro ball 2 (with barley, pearls and sweet potato)- quite generous with the ingredients. The potato was sweet and pearls were firm which I really liked.<br/>I was however disappointed that there was no actual taro in the dessert beside the glutinous taro balls. <br/>3) Herbal jelly with red beans and pearls- flavour of the jelly was good but the texture could be slightly firmer. <br/>Overall not the nicest ambience but great for casual catch ups over something sweet. <br/>

Tried the purple rice yoghurt drink and it was something different to the regular drinks. The drink was more on the sour-sweet side (basically like Greek yoghurt) which surprisingly paired well with the purple rice. Price wise is slightly more than what I would pay for a drink as this only came in a regular size. <br/><br/>The fluffy matcha drink (left) had a nice consistency and taste. However, again it is on the pricier side! <br/>

The food that we ordered was nice. However, the lady who was getting our order was a bit disrespectful. She was raising her voice to my friend when we are asking for help on our order.
Chris L
We ordered saga and herb jelly and I must say they taste quiet nice but because it’s so busy staff are very rude and don’t clean tables so dirty
MeeraTheFoodie
I had the strawberry + condensed milk shaved ice! It was really tasty, but quite sweet! So I wouldn’t suggest it if you’re not fond of too sweet desserts! The fresh strawberries were quite refreshing!

Came here after a heavy lunch with the girls and let me tell you I slipped into a food coma after having a few spoons of the huge bowl of mango shaved ice 😱<br/>Also ordered mango slushie to go and it was good.<br/>I would have given a 5 but service was rude even though we were the only customers!! Besides her attitude, I would recommend you try this little place out its delish 👌

It was busy tonight at Meet Fresh. We were here with kids, unfortunately found a piece of sharp plastic in our food. Luckily not the kids had that. Told the staff that what happened, they nicely offer a replacement which we feel have enough jelly for the day. No thanks!

Me and my family are the fans of this dessert. we didn't expect it will be exist in NZ, and we found this gem in balmoral. Reminds us to home. Thanks
Rita Ge
this is one of my favourite Taiwanese style desserts. Kumara and taro pearls are sweet and chewy, together with the purple rice in coconut milk. Yummm😋 it will be better if they use seasonal fresh fruits, the mango is the frozen type, so not so sweet and tasty.
Lilly M. Jane
The place is cute and the desserts is really nice. The pricing is suitable for what you're getting.<br/>The customer service isn't the best but i guess you wouldn't be as hype when you're working 8hr shifts with only one other person and customers coming in at certain time all in a rush.<br/><br/>Would go there once a week or 2 times a month at most

I just love their tofu jelly pudding with red beans. Best of all, I can share it with my son who has all the food allergies usually found in desserts (milk, egg, peanut, cashew). I have tried their signature purple rice pudding as well. It was not too bad, but it probably was lacking a bit of sweetness.<br/><br/>Their shaved ice puddings are also decent according to my colleague, so will definitely try one of them on my next visit.
Clare Ang
Satisfying dessert at Dominion Road, tastes the same as the one in Lorne Street. Enjoyed their taro dessert! Best to be shares. Bonus: they played my favourite Chinese pop music videos in the store!
Michelle Ma Belle
Yummy herbal jelly, tasted very similar to what I had in Taiwan. However, they got our shaved ice order wrong, and the flavour was a bit underwhelming. Would be nice if they added more condensed milk.

Meet fresh dominion road in Balmoral is pretty good. Their drinks n dessert selection is quite extensive n service is very friendly n fast. We tried their new drink on the menu which is fresh milk with brown sugar pearl. It was delicious. A bit on a sweeter side if you are okay with it or u can always order it with less or no sugar... but go as it comes.

Frequented this Taiwanese dessert chain shop at Dominion Road and the other one outlet at Meadowland Drive several times. There was a huge range of Taiwanese desserts to choose, including taro ball series, herbal jelly series, shaved ice series, snowflake ice series, waffles, tou fu pudding (bean curd pudding) series, traditional tea series, etc.<br/><br/>Tried their taro ball, sweet potato ball and herbal jelly series, mango snowflakes ice and a few other desserts quite a number of times. They looked pretty appealing with attractive presentations, but they all tasted just average.<br/><br/>Their taro and sweet potato balls were made of flour with very little taro and sweet potatoes. What I could taste were all floury texture, couldn't really taste the taro or sweet potatoes. The mango snowflakes ice tasted more like shredded ice with mango syrup, with a very pathetic amount of mango cubes on top. My feeling was that these desserts just tasted like shredded ice with syrup, sugar and flour. The plus point is that the snowflakes ice was very fine and snowy.<br/><br/>I noticed that their customers are mainly youngsters. My friends still love to go back to this chain shop to have their desserts after dinner. I will normally just tag along.<br/><br/>Food & Beverage : 5/10<br/>Service : 6/10<br/>Price : 3/10<br/>Ambience : 5/10<br/><br/>

Came in one night after dinner in February this year. Waffles were crispy on the outside and soft within. The syrup was not too sweet and worked well with the cream. Loved the Taro balls. They were chewy and delicious. Mangos on shaved ice tasted fresh and juicy. Would definitely come again for more nice Taiwanese desserts.

Came here for dessert on Mother’s Day. The place was packed. We ordered the mango shaved ice with condensed milk. I loved how fresh the mango was and the ice just melts in your mouth. The mango ice cream at the top was the perfect topping. The sago was really coconutty and it was warm, it wasnt really my type of dessert but it was good as well plus the mango was fresh too

Taste is always nice however it takes time if the shop gets busy. I always come here with my friends and order milktea or snowflake every week. Some staffs are really not friendly if they are busy which is understandable. The shop opens late til 12am that is awesome.
Emily
Yum yum yum!! Perfect late night haunt if you’re in the mood for something sweet and refreshing. Be prepared to wait for a bit (sometimes) as this place fills up fast, but service is typically quick and food is seriously delicious. Sago pudding is LEGIT and the waffles are melt in the mouth. A must try!
Paularbear
Too pricey for dessert place on dom rd. they need reasonable and affordable portion sizes. everything is above 16 or 18, they should offer smaller dishes at a lesser cost for a single person or to share.
Rohit
Ordered the mango green tea. A little on the bitter side for me but still tastes really good. Staff friendly and service is good. They are open till late so can always rely on them.
Amanda
The place is average and I would say they charged too much for a waffle with two ice cream scoops, but the red bean matcha shaved ice is the best. Never ever try other things after I found this one.
Hasiba Zareh
I don’t personally have a sweet tooth, but I still found these waffles enjoyable! Their portions are quite big and the mango was fresh. <br/><br/>The staff weren’t that great at English so ordering was a bit difficult.
Jason Zhang
Came here on a Friday night for desserts after dinner. It didn’t turn out to be that busy but there were still people going in and out, mostly for takeaways. <br/><br/>We got the herbal jelly #2 (cold) and red bean mochi balls. For the herbal jelly, they give you a tiny packaged cream milk to add it on, and having it cold in summer is really satisfying. Mix it before serving so you could get all the brown sugar and shaved ice underneath for better tasting. The #2 has sweet potatoes in addition to the taro balls and herbal jelly. Don’t underestimate the portions, it may leave you with a bloated stomach. <br/>The Mochi balls, for $5, wasn’t very attractive and you only get 2 of them - I expected at least 3-4. $2.50 for 1 mochi ball that isn’t that big is kind of expensive in my opinion. It tastes just like normal red bean mochi balls (what you’d expect from a red bean milk tea) which you can buy at the Asian supermarkets for a cheaper price in packets. <br/><br/>As for service, there’s really not much to it other than cleaning the table for you because all of them are behind the counter making food and drinks.<br/><br/>Taste - 7/10<br/>Size - 7/10<br/>Price - 7/10

More of chinese dessert place and been here few times as they open till midnight. Quite busy with youngsters and love their mango shaves ice.

A frequent hangout after dinner and we love their signature Combo of Black jelly, shaved ice and various taro and Kumara balls. Never have any complains about this place!

The furniture and decor is the same as the other Meet Fresh franchise stores. I like the simple furnishings and tidy appearance.<br/><br/>The red bean dessert is thick and full of red bean flavour. The shaved ice is well presented and a generous serving. Great place for an afternoon snack or a late night dessert.

Have to admit that I don't know a thing about Taiwanese food, so can't say if they meet the standards. But I really like what they serve at Meet Fresh.<br/><br/>They have a good variety to please a sweet tooth, and what I like the most about them is the refreshing elements of the desserts, making it light and easy to finish.

At six o 'clock in the afternoon, the service attitude of the waitress was very bad here, feel very don't want customers to consumption. Meet fresh is a very distinctive desert shop of China, I don't want the service personnel to affect its quality.
Vicky
The taste is good but the service was quite terrible. The waitress's attitude was so poor and she rolled her eyes to customers! Also, we took away one signature herbal jelly with red bean, but they did not put the red bean inside.
Aimee.
They weren’t busy today so the customer service was pretty good. I was able to adjust the sugar to 0% and added barley to my black tea drink. The place is quiet and clean.

Another of my fav place to have late night desserts x<br/><br/>Quaint store at the start/end of balmoral road, love the vibe of the place. <br/>Great variety of choices too, but I am really hoping they change the menu to be able to customize our own base and toppings.<br/><br/>Taste wise:<br/>• would recommend to have a mixture of shave ice and jelly (hebal, pudding or tofu) it would taste better!<br/>Only downside is when we order addition topping (e.g. Taro balls) only approx 4 pieces is added, imo def not worth paying another<br/><br/>In overall, it's good but not amazing compared to others overseas but we gotta be satisfied with what we have here hahaha
Ashleigh Michelle
I really like the menu offering that Meet Fresh provides, it's different to any other around the area and is a nice change to have lots of dessert options. I always have the Strawberry Milkshake, I'm not sure if it's on the normal menu but I saw it on a poster inside. It's so nice and refreshing on a hot day. I would love to try their waffles, the only reason we haven't yet is since they are a little pricey. I also really like the decor and modern feel of this restaurant.
Bea Ambrosio
One of my top go-to dessert spots all year round 🍮 affordable and something for everyone.<br/><br/>PinoyTip: Hot tofu pudding with boba/pearls will satisfy your taho cravings 👌🏼

It's a great place to hang out at night, we ordered different things. YuYuan series all look good and tasty, no matter they are cold or hot. I might try something other than those next time :)
Charmaine
I usually go to the branch in town, but have visited this branch recently. Quality is just as good, but it was not as crowded, unsure if it was due to the time of day that we went. A bonus, since you frequently have to queue up at the city branch <br/><br/>So you order and pay for your dessert/drink then sit down, they give you a buzzer which buzzes when your order is ready, you pick it up.<br/><br/>For some reason, grass jelly on shaved ice with taro valls and kumara balls topped with sugar syrup and coffee creamer just works wonders. There are other options too but this is my favourite. The person who thought of the combo should be awarded a genius-related prize. I guess franchise earnings will have to do instead....
BAbyWin
The overall experience was just average. Nothing too impressive, nothing too wrong. I ordered their signature dessert Taro ball No.1 and due to that day was slightly cold so I decided to have the hot one (I more often ordered the cold ones). It was very sweet and the Taro balls are chewy. The only one drawback compared to the Meet Fresh in Malaysia is that you can't customize your dessert, so I can't have everything I like in one bowl or I should say there is definitely something I dislike in my dessert e.g. the boba/pearls. I like the taro balls, red beans and barley but no matter which option I choose they have boba/pearls in it :( The environment was quite okay except the toilet. It was not dirty but the toilet seat was broken. There was also no toilet paper and hand towel in there :( I would like to rate this place higher because I am a dessert lover and Taiwanese dessert is one of my favorite but I just have to be honest with how I felt about it.

Having visited Taiwan before I was really excited about this place. I've been here twice now and have to say their desserts and drinks are pretty average. The red bean porridge is quite watery and the taro balls have no chewiness or consistency. Plus they put cold lumps of sweet potato when I asked for the warm option. These guys are open till late though so bonus points for satisfying those late night cravings :))
DuckieLovesToEat
I had tried one of this place in Melbourne before and I thoroughly enjoyed that. So when a friend of mine mentioned that they now have this in Auckland I was curious enough and wanting to compare. I went here when I came back to Auckland with my sister and best friend. It is one of those places which has a casual feel to it. Unfortunately, I find that it was not as good as the one I had in Melbourne. It is a good place to hang out with friends though especially if you are out and about late at night.

My girls love eating here!<br/><br/>It's more like a dessert shop. Taiwanese sweetness. I like it once in a while. But I'm 95kg and I shouldn't be eating too much. <br/><br/>It's relatively pricy, but the Chinese demand is high... so that's too bad. <br/><br/>Environment: 3.5/5<br/>Food Quality: 4/5<br/>Food Quantity: 4/5<br/>Service: 3/5<br/>Price: $10pp

Customer service was ok I guess, atmosphere was pretty cute and cosy. We ordered the mango waffle dessert and it tasted amazing! Also tried the fruity jelly dessert & the Taro red bean one which tasted good too. I also enjoyed the bobo tea as well! Definitely coming back for more! (:
Emma Patricia Katili
Taro balls all the way. Meet fresh is nice and you don't really find lots of desert places like meet fresh in auckland so i really appreciate how they make their deserts.
Ivan Koay
Great little Asian dessert place. Came here on recommendation of some friends and loved it. There are a variety of different desserts hot and cold depending on what you fancy. <br/>We opted for a cold mango crushed ice dessert which is reminiscent of the ais kacang that one would get in Malaysia/Singapore. Shaved ice with fresh mango pieces, palm sugar syrup and ice-cream to boot. You could also add on other toppings dependent on your fancy.<br/>Over a nice place to cap off a night and highly recommended

This is a great oriental dessert shop. I love dropping by and grabbing a matcha tea to go. Their dessert bowls are pretty generous with more than enough room to share. I would recommend the fruit ones. You can try the other bowls if you are into glutinous balls as dessert. I would say its an acquired taste and definately not my cup of tea.<br/>I tried the winter melon tea which has a very distinct biscuity taste. It was very refreshing though. I'm definately coming back to try the waffles. The menu is baffling, so many options!

The place seems to be so busy, especially in weekend and after dinner time. Always find it hard to find carpark nearby and seats inside. We usually order their mango shaved ice (super huge and is for 2 people at least), tofu pudding, mochi, herbal jellies and winter melon tea. They also have a range of hot desserts which is perfect for upcoming winter. Out of all the Meet Fresh that we have tried, our fav is still the Albany branch. Overall desserts taste is consistent with other branch.
Ben Ch
The desserts at Meet Fresh are fantastic, especially awesome if you like anything glutinous; taro balls, tapioca, herbal jelly, mochi, and more. <br/><br/>Their Signature Herbal Jelly, that comes with 2 different types of tapioca balls, is to die for

Was pretty excited when I first found out there was gonna be a Meet Fresh on Dominion Road as I've been to the one in the city a few times and enjoyed it. <br/><br/>I haven't been to this Meet Fresh in a while cos I didn't like how they mainly served shaved ice dessert. Walked past the other day and saw that they had a new range of matcha desserts and drinks and I knew I had to come back and try them. <br/><br/>Ordered the matcha ice cream and red bean waffles to share with a friend for dessert. Presentation was very nice but it being practical for eating with a knife and fork wasn't so great. Other than that, I must say the waffle itself was very light and fluffy. None of that floury thick batter. But probably ideal to place the waffles on a flat plate instead. <br/><br/>I also ordered a drink from there -can't remember what it was but it tasted a bit odd.. But nothing bad. Just wasn't what I was expecting 😕<br/><br/>Service isn't bad here. Kinda what you'd expect. And they seem to always be quite busy there too.

This place is brilliant!!!! I'll be honest that I could not understand half the menu items as they were very different. Probably famous in Taiwan or Japan. <br/><br/>We had a shaved Mango ice with condensed milk and I could not stop eating. It was massive and me and my partner could not finish the entire dish.<br/><br/>I'm going to come back here to try other things on their menu.<br/>

This is my go to place after having dinner in dominion rd. If you're craving asian desserts this is the right place. The servings are worth the price and sometimes good to share with friends. I always go for the warm tofu pudding with tapioca during winter and the mango on crushed ice during summer - perfect for the weather.

Was craving something cool and sweet to sip on whilst walking along dominion after a huge feed when me and my partner stumbled upon this place. We were quite overwhelmed with the different kinds of desserts and flavours of drinks that we've never heard of. So to stay on the safe side of things, I ordered a taro milkshake, type of slushy...that is the best way I can subscribe it and my it was sooo good! I could taste a few taro chunks in the drink as well which I loved. My partners strawberry was a tad too sweet for his and my liking. It tasted artificial, like the drink probably had too much strawberry syrup. Anyways, I loved the setting of this place and will definitely come back to try another drink or dessert.

Yummy Taiwanese style dessert shop where also offers wonderful bubble tea drinking a. Happy with most of items here. Hope can have more less sugar or no add sugar items here in future.
Benedict Uy
For those that like these Asian style desserts. They serve grass jelly, tofu pudding, and other delicacies with a variety of different toppings like tapioca, red bean and taro balls.<br/><br/>These type of desserts are generally not as sweet and have a distinct flavour.<br/><br/>They do have seating but is generally full after the dinner rush. They also have other more "traditional" desserts like waffles and ice cream.<br/><br/>Nice thing to try if you haven;t done so before.
Heartshrooms
I know I was initially unimpressed with Meet Fresh as it felt too overpriced and hyped up at first but now I am a regular at this place when those sweet tooth cravings strike. It's an easy place to catch up and share desserts over. I only ever get the Signature Herbal jelly cold version, Wintermelon tea, or shaved ice as the other choices are a bit of a let down in my opinion.
Eva Zhu
Came here for dessert and really enjoyed ourselves. Service was a little hasty.. We had the red bean tofu pudding, taro ball tofu pudding, number 4 herbal jelly and the taro ball red bean porridge. The tofu pudding was smooth, taro balls deliciously chewy, sweetness was just right. Everything was splendid and will come back again
Charlene Weaver
Loved this place!!<br/><br/>Went here last night for the first time and it was amazing, so many options and different drinks/puddings I now need to try. <br/><br/>We ordered two of the larger/Sharing deserts which were taro and mango flavoured. It was basically shaved ice, ice cream, fruit, taro balls, condensed milk and syrup all on a plate. <br/><br/>Really light, refreshing desert, perfect after a heavy or spicy meal. YUM can't wait for my next visit to try something new on the menu :)

Popular in Asia and originating from Taiwan, taro desserts are hard to find in this part of the world. Thankfully, Meet Fresh has brought them to us in their most authentic state. <br/><br/>We went there after a big meal at Dominion Road, and ordered their best seller which was shaved ice with sweet syrup and taro balls, chewy tapioca pearls, and red bean. We also chucked in an almond dessert with mini taro and pumpkin balls, just to try something different. <br/><br/>The order took a while to arrive on our table, but it was understandable due to the late Friday night crowd. The shaved ice was perfect--it had sweetness, the right amount of chewiness, and it was refreshing. Loved the pearls, taro and pumpkin balls, because they added a great texture to the dessert. <br/><br/>The almond drink that arrived was thick, almost like a soup consistency, and the little orange and grey balls at the bottom was a really nice touch. The almond flavour was strong, nutty, and fragrant. Would totally recommend to those who love almonds. <br/><br/>Showstopper: The authenticity of the desserts. I've had the same thing in Taiwan, and couldn't tell the difference. <br/><br/>Overall grade: A. Come if you wanna switch it up from your usual Western desserts.

I thought I won't like this place but end up I really do. It was better when I first visited though~~it has kinda went down hill but still a nice place to go for Asian desserts

Been meaning to try this place but all three locations were not convenient to us. Finally made it to the Balmoral branch. The place is quite small and even though we went at a non-dessert time it was already quite busy. I was surprised they had waffles but i remember the sydney branch has a lot more choices/customisation of the taro balls desserts. I ordered the signature taro balls with grass jelly. I thoroughly enjoyed it and find it a good portion size. The shaved ice was very big and best suited for 2+ people.

Wow, this store was packed to the brim on a friday evening, with people everywhere waiting for tables inside and out and others waiting on takeaways..... This probably made me a little more excited than I probably needed to. <br/><br/>We ordered the fresh crushed mango iced frappe and the taro ball no.4 (which was 2nd most recommended). I seriously don't understand the hype. The mango drink was $8 and 99.8% artificially flavoured. It had a stingy amount of fresh mango on the top and the rest was the 'shott' mango syrup blended w ice. The taro ball dessert which we opt'd for cold, (which we regretted as both items were basically ice... Braaaaaiiiiinfreeze) was quite a let down. The shaved ice was sweetened with a sugary syrup and the taro balls had no flavour - I understand tapioca doesn't have an intense flavour, but I couldn't quite understand how such big chunks of it were suppose to absorb any of the flavours in the bowl. The size of the desert was huge though, definitely couldn't finish that on my own. Overall - I think they were edible. Nothing id be in a rush back for, for sure. <br/><br/>Ambiance - typical of a room filled with non English speaking people yelling at each other :p loud but fun loud. <br/>Service - no table service. You order at the counter and they give you a beeper. Desserts came out speedily despite the place being packed!

They don't give enough ice with the dessert at this branch but overall speedy services and delicious grass jelly! The signature dish is my favourite! Or number 4!

Ordered taro shaved ice which is my usual at the Lorne St Meet Fresh and was not disappointed. Quality is consistent across the stores and I find both have massive servings. A colleague also got the Taro Ball 1 with Herbal Jelly and was very satisfied with both the taste and portion size.

The desserts were quite good - the shaved ice is huge! The herbal jelly is quite medicinal tasting, but in a good way. Waffles are not bad. But I was not impressed with the service and the speed. Perhaps the staff are being overworked given some may do a 12 hour shift?

Yum yum yum! Pretty much all I can say really! Definitely the place to go after dinner.<br/><br/>My favorite dish is their grass jelly with taro balls. You can never go wrong with that. The perfect dessert even in winter time.

The food was okay, not really impressed but the service is UNACCEPTABLE! The lady served us was really really mean! Her face, her act, her attitude are not suitable for customers service! I have never been to any places that gave that bad! Will never come back again. NEVER AND EVER!<br/>

Got the mango shaved ice with taro balls which was served in a mug. I found this way too sweet and didnt have any mango taste.

This is the second Meet Fresh store I have been to. Like the one on Lorne Street, this one was also very busy. We had to wait quite a while for our order, especially since we ordered quite few items. It was worth the wait though. All of us were happy with our order.

After the Meet Fresh craze died down, this is one of my favourite Asian dessert restaurants to go to after a meal. I usually go to the one in the city but we were dining on Dominion Road tonight and wanted something sweet after our meal. <br/><br/>The restaurant was still quite busy and we had to wait about five minutes until there was a big enough table for our group of four people. That was fine though. The lady at the counter was nice, service was good. <br/><br/>I usually get the same thing every time I come here. I once ventured out into their drinks and I wasn't as blown away as I thought I would be (I just felt like desserts were so much more worth the price compared to the drinks)! I got the signature herbal jelly dessert which was shaved ice with grass jelly topped with taro and sweet potato balls with creme that you could pour over your dessert. Good as always. <br/><br/>The sweet tofu is another classic that my friend got and also came with taro balls. I didn't try this but she always gets the same thing so it must be good! <br/><br/>The only thing I can say that needs improvement is the cleanliness of the bathroom. There were also no more paper towels and I had to go back into the bathroom to use toilet paper to dry my hands. Apart from that everything else was good. The wait time was short, our desserts came in about five minutes. <br/><br/>I definitely will be back!

This place is amazing! We ordered the mango shaved ice, tofu pudding with tapioca and the winter melon tea with herbal jelly. We enjoyed everything from the first mouthful til the last! Will definitely be coming back.

I've seen mixed reviews for Meet Fresh, but as a Taiwanese dessert noob, I like it. It's vastly different from desserts I'm used to & I love to try new things, so it's a thumbs up from me.<br/><br/>Situated on Dominion Rd, next door to New Flavour, when Meet Fresh first opened in Balmoral they'd sold out of many items (all the ones we wanted to try), but it's since calmed down & they seem to have everything on the menu available pretty much.<br/><br/>It's been good to give my love for Hulucat's oolong milk tea with taro pudding a rest for a while & not have to wait in the cold while they make it too!<br/><br/>Meet Fresh's winter melon tea with whipped cream Jo& small taro balls is my new obsession, despite it being freezing of late & the drink containing ice. It's also quite sweet, but I prefer the taro balls to pearls made with tapioca any day. Minus the whipped cream, this drink is one of their top sellers.<br/><br/>Haven't tried much else in the menu, but there are definitely a few desserts and possibly other drinks I'll be trying next.<br/>Tried the mochi which is nice enough & one of their top sellers too.<br/>Service is good & nice decor. Funny posters outside - have a read if you find yourself at Meet Fresh.<br/>If you haven't been, I recommend you check it out.<br/><br/>Updated 2019:<br/><br/>Love the sago, love the shaved ice desserts. Highly recommend!

Dessert of good taste. It is a good choice to have friends eat out on Dominion Rd and then go inside this one to have a dessert.<br/><br/>The shortcoming is the place is crowded.

First time I saw Meet Fresh in city with all Asian customer and I felt like I was in Asia haha. I tried their mango smoothie (I think it was like seasonal menu then) with expectation that it would be similar to mango smoothie in Hong Kong BUT turned out it was not good. <br/><br/>Then I've been to Dominion road shop and tried mango shaved ice (seasonal menu). It looked really really good in the photo BUT the real one was bad and didn't look like in photo at all!! There was no mango sauce or mango taste apart from those sour, not quite ripe fresh mango pieces. If there was no ice-cream on top, I wouldn't be able to finish this bland ice shaved mango dish.<br/><br/>I also had strawberry milkshake because it looked so good from photo (AGAIN!!) and it was really terrible...the most terrible milkshake I've ever had!! <br/><br/>Finally I found good dessert here from their famous/popular - herbal jelly with taro balls (I'm not sure what it's called but it's number one in their promotion stand next to cashier :p ) The brown shaved ice was really refreshing and taro balls had really good texture and taste. <br/><br/>Don't believe in those photos they have in the shop, most of them are not good like they look.

Really is a convenient place since they are open until midnight. Usually late night is when we are craving tapioca dessert the most. They always seem to be busy around late night time but you can take away everything. Otherwise dining in sometimes there might be a wait for a table. <br/><br/>Decently priced, maybe a tad on the overpriced side as most of the ingredients are very simple and easy to get/make, Especially their mochi which I don't think is really worth $5 for 2 and the mango ice tower dessert which is over $10 and all it is is a scoop of ice cream, a few spoons of mango and sugared ice. However after work when the cravings kick in I tend to ignore that aside and buy everything anyway! <br/><br/>The staffs have trouble understanding you sometimes but they really do try their best. Service is very friendly and I've never had a bad experience.

Been here a few times now and so far they've been pretty good. I think the portions here are slightly bigger than the one in the city's. <br/><br/>My favourite is the original herbal jelly one served cold. Love the taro balls. The mango shaved ice is also pretty good though too sweet for my liking. I wouldn't really recommend the tofu jelly. It's really sweet and not as soft as I'd imagined. <br/><br/>But anyway, the service is fast, probably cos it's not as busy as the one in the city. <br/>A place to visit if u want a sweet treat :)

Being in the area on Saturday night, we had decided to try out this outlet. No surprise that it was busy around 10pm as it is situated in a busy food district. <br/>We ordered taro ball number 6 (noodle jelly, crystal jelly & tapioca in red bean soup) as well as the green tea with cream. Shortly after ordering the dishes were ready. <br/><br/>The green tea was very nice, being more fragrant as opposed to its city outlet. The taro balls however were a bit too sticky/wet, as well as the tapioca/pearls being a bit undercooked. However, the rest of the dish was lovely.<br/><br/>***After returning again, their taro balls are now very good, with the Balmoral branch being much better than the city branch***<br/><br/>The Balmoral outlet is a lovely place for get togethers, especially when craving such treats.
