Very pleasantly surprised by this place, the food was stellar. I had a mango chicken which was seasoned perfectly and the chicken was succulently cooked. The naan was the star of the meal though, so buttery, fluffy and garlic. Delicious! I'll be back and recommending to my friends :)

There are Indian restaurant and there is the one and only Shor Bazaar. Tucked away in suburban Lynfield, it is the hidden gem of Auckland. Food is delicious, service quick and friendly and best is doesn't punch a hole in your pocket. The Malai tikka was the highlight, as was the Palak Paneer and the best Naan. Haven't seen a better Kheema Naan Highly recommended

Coming to taste now- I ordered vegetable chowmein , it was very full of vinegar, was not able to see or taste any vegetables!! The chilly chicken was too watery! To top all the disappointment, the carrot halwa cost us $7 and was too bland and it took a total of 3 teaspoon to finish! Total order costed us $38.99, looks like we have been cheated! I think these people dont know what chinese means. I ordered a manchurian with thick gravvy. It was a takeaway so when I got to my place I noticed that the balls were actually not ball. Its was pretty much curry. I was embarrassed to 2 of my friend, with whom I were to enjoy manchurian. They also were not happy with chinese and suggested me either dosa plaza or eggs and more. I have had there curries which are really good and their naan is awesome, but I will not recommend Chinese menu to anyone because its not worth $. I also took a picture which i will try to attach or something where you guys will get an idea. Thanks

My friend and I stumbled across this fine little gem of a restaurant later in the evening, and fortunately they were still open and still serving food. They took care to answer all our questions in a helpful way, and they promptly served delicious food in generous quantities, and at prices easy to afford. It is a real bargain. I seldom recommend a place enthusiastically, but this is one I loved. Too bad I live overseas or I would be eating there frequently.

O yeah the main thing service. One of best service we have got, staff were very friendly. The DJ system was available too. Unbelievable!!!!! Useless!!!!! Told me 40 mins for delivery. After 60 mins waiting I called to hear they would be an extra 25 mins. Firstly, realistic expectations need to be set for a restaurant aiming for takeaways in a suburban strip mall, and I find some of the low reviews for this place unfair. From a restaurant standpoint, the service was fast, friendly and there were plenty of options. The food wasn't the most amazing Indian food I've had, but it was reasonable and arguably better than fast moving Indian takeout food. I think given the convenience, price, options and service, sitting down and eating here is pretty ok. Finally, they're open really long hours, which is great if you like eating out really late - while almost every other restaurant in the area is closed.

This place was the only Indian restaurant my parents and I used to visit when we had a birthday party or a just a Sunday dinner, a few years ago when this restaurant newly opened, the food was amazing I used to have a spicy soup for my starter with Amritsar prawns and chicken tikka as well as samosa. My most loved dish was the fried rice and a cashew chicken curry! But now the food isn’t to my liking, I later found out that the management and the cooks had changed! Probably cause of that!

I had a takeaway on last Sunday with 2x veg curries 1x chicken manchurion 1x lolipos & 1x chicken tava and a cheese naan, as you can guess it's a big order, the chicken quality was very poor or I must say pathetic, very hard or I have ever had this before, no taste at all in lolipops, only 1 veg curry was good and very disappointed with the taste, especially, the veg curry was smelling with chicken as it appeared that it was cooked in the same pane, no more visits here, my niece and nephew both were disappointed after spending $70 for no taste..!

Went for a dinner here and was pleased to have done that. Food is really flavoursome, try their signature dishes which are shor bazar spl. Only thing was naan breads were too dry so topping of butter or cooking a bit more might help. The interior is nice, but staff was less the day I went, even though it was a Sunday. Overall I am happy with it and would want to visit again.

A good place to visit, i don't really enjoy the mains here. The last two times I have been here i have only ordered their starter. Malai tikka and garlic chicken are by far their best two dishes. Really recommend this place to start off a good night and then move on.

We had a big get together planned so I found out this place. We keep trying different Indian joints and it is really difficult to find a good place who doesnt use colors☺ in food. First time we visited the place on a Thursday.. we were 10people. All loved the food ambiance and service. But next time it was Anzac day. We were so excited amd the food wqs too bad. None of the dishes had salt in it. Even after telling then next dishes didnt had salt at all. They said since it is a holiday the cook is different😑😑 What an excuse.. you shouldnt go to this restaurant on a holiday?? We ordered mix platter, chicken madras, chicken rara but on the second visit none of them were properly salted😞 Will not visit again. Need to find a better place

worst food and worst customer service!! i ordered chilly chicken beforehand asked that i don't want it to be sweet, but As customer service person assured that it won't be sweet, so i gone ahead with order, when started eating realised it was as sweet as and was made in same curry butter chicken is cooked, and when i complained about it, the gentle lady (assuming was a manager) without listening to what customer trying to say interrupted badly, and said that she can refund me for the food, NOW THE POINT IS WE WERE NOT THERE FOR FREE FOOD!! it was a feedback for them to understand what customer is looking for rather then giving a high tone of sarcasm. guys please make sure don't ruin your evening and waste your money!!! being at SHORE BAZAAR WAS BIG disappointment.

Poor service and staff. Charges people differently. Inconsistent pricing. My friends dine regularly and take away 10$curries from here. I go in looking for same deal, they say it is not valid on dinner on a thursday. Charge me an extra 15 bucks. Food was average as well. But I would never dine in this place again due to their inconsistent pricing policy because for me consistency is the very essence of an eating outlet.

We have always had great service and food from Shor Bazaar. We have done phone orders and have ordered in store. While I admit sometimes we are left waiting 5 minutes food we ordered half an hour ago over the phone, the food always made up for the short wait.

Typical Indian restaurant and takeaway. Have dined in here once but got takeaways a few times. Standard food and nothing really stood out as exceptional but nothing to complain either. Tried the rogan josh, chicken tikka, malai kofta, chicken madras, chicken manchurian and naan through the visits and it's pretty decent. Reasonably priced and portions are good. They also do mon-tues-wed $10 curry night which is pretty cheap. Good option for a weekday curry. Dine in service is quite ok as well.

Gave a takeaway order over phone and staff requested to come after 30 minutes to collect the food. Went after 40 minutes to collect food. Food was not ready. Asked to wait 2 minutes. Went back after 10 minutes. Still food was not ready. Asked to wait 5 more minutes. Waited another 15 minutes and finally food arrived. Food was not great either. Not the best experience. This was the first time we went there. Perhaps it was a busy day for them. Price was reasonable.

MOST HORRIBLE EXPERIENCEWent for Dinner on my birthday along with my family and my sister who had come from US.Based on my previous experience we decided to go to Shor Bazaar. We ordered hot n sour soup which tasted like water loaded with vinegar and chilly and was so spicy that it was inedible that we had to return it .When inquired with the staff he said the management has changed, he also told me that's what hot and sour soup is supposed to taste like !!!!!!!!!!!!!. We then requested another soup, sweet corn soup.The moment it was placed on the table, the look itself put us off, tasting it confirmed our suspicion.Unfortunately we had ordered both the soup and the mains at the same time and when the mains arrived it was equally bad.We checked with the other staff and he said the chef was new and was not confident with the Chinese food.Had he told us before placing the order we would not have opted for the same.We left the food as it is and no one from the management was courteous enough to apologize and gad the audacity to ask us to pay the bill .IThanks for RUINING MY BIRTHDAY -SHOR BAZAAR...WILL NEVER RECOMMEND TO ANYONE NOR WILL VISIT AGAIN. I may also add the service was equally bad we had no cutlery and had to borrow it from the next table while the staff was busy clearing other tables and ignoring us.Would love to give them a zero if had the option...

We were here to book the place for a birthday party for 35 people....and to taste the food.....from outside the place looks flash...... on entering.....That SMELL....gosh.....that distinctive unclean smell......we ignored it...thinking possibly the place is too busy and they dont have the time to mop....so we ordered.... Lunch special...ordered butter chicken and rara lamb....butter chicken was average and lamb poor ......well..it was stinking...surely they are using poor quality stale meat....this problem is also mentioned in one of the reviews below....even though the price is $10 does not mean you can serve the stale old food....positives...service is good and decor is good, ample parking...but no point if u serve this kind of food...not going again...also u r not getting my booking....sorry.

Went here for the first time for a birthday. I found it a little inconvenient that we had to get up to order our drinks, we were in a large group and having to keep getting up to order drinks was uncomfortable. The food was good. I enjoyed the entrée. We had a buffet style dinner set up for our group... there were left overs and we did ask if we could take away the left overs as we did pay for the food but we were advised no and that its 'their dinner'? A little unhappy about that....

I went to Shor Bazar with very high expectations. We ordered about 8-10 dishes ranging from soups, curries, biriyanis and naans with normal drinks. The service was friendly and fast but the food was mediocre. Nothing spectacular really. If I would rate Paradise a 5 or Raviz a 4.5 - this place in comparison is only a 3. I don't think I'll be back here again.

The ambience of this place is really good which raised my expectations however this will be a mixed review. Some good stuff some bad. I ordered hot and sour soup - too much onion, ginger and clove - totally ruined it's taste. Then for the main I had prawn hariyali - prawns overcooked. The only highlight was the butter naan - just the way I like it - no yeast taste and thin. My friends mentioned the chicken korma and the chicken kadhai was good. Chicken biryani average again. Don't see myself visiting this place again soon.

When I first walked in I was very impressed with the ambience and the tidy interior. When I sat down I was more impressed with the $5 beers. We had hot and sour soup for starters which was good for NZ standards but not spectacular. My mains were chicken Korma with butter Naan which I found very tasty. The wait times were a bit long but I appreciate the restaurant was busy.

Best Indo-chinese food i've had for a very very very long time. The chef is amazing and actually pays attention to any specifications you give him with regards to how you want your food. The place was beautiful and so worth it. The waiter we had was exceptional. He was well informed and knew what ingredients were in each and everything we asked him. He was exceptional in his service, manner and knowledge on the food. We don't normally go to Indian restaurants because we've had bad experiences with staff being rude. But this is now, THE PLACE TO GO!!!!!! If I could give it 10 stars then I would!

The only reason for not rating is 5 is food portions. They can improve on food portions on Mains. Surprisingly, We reached there on a close friend's recommendation to try out this new place. Great ambience, nice food. Starter Chicken 65 was awsome. Fish Masala was superb. Even after eating a good amount and variety of mains, food was still light. Cheers Shor Bazaar.

I went in for the first time under the new ownership last night for a take away order. My first impression was; I wanna come back here to dine in! The new decor and lighting is amazing. But unfortunately after eating the food I couldn't go back. So disappointing! Why? TOO SWEET! We had butter chicken that was so sweet it took the lining off the back of my throat. Also the naan bread was completely burned black on one side which should not have slipped past quality control. To be fair, the new place looks 10 times better than it did before and the service is excellent, but the food is what really matters to me and I'm sorry to say the food cannot even compare to what it was under the previous Zyka restaurant.

My boyfriend and I went to this restaurant tonight for the first time. Not only was the restaurant visually appealing, the customer service was fantastic and the food was even better. We will no doubt be coming back and be recommending this restaurant to our friends. We found a deal on grab one for 2 mains, rice and 2 naan breads. I ordered the chicken shaari korma and my boyfriend ordered the lamb saag gosht. We both ordered a mango lassi which was by far the best we have had. The chicken was very creamy and slightly sweet making this an incredible dish. The lamb had a dark green sauce which was perfectly seasoned which accompanied the wonderful ratio of garlic. The chicken dish was the definite stand out of the night. We will no doubt be coming back and be recommending this restaurant to our friends.

Easily, the best Indian food I have ever had. The flavors were indescribable, rich and nicely balanced. The friendly staff and relaxing ambiance made for a very enjoyable experience. I will definitely be going back the next time I'm in Auckland.

Shor Bazaar offered our family an enjoyable evening and experience. The interior design and theme is well done. It was late on a cold Sunday evening when we visited. The restaurant was clean, warm and smelled delightful. The ambience was cosy and the staff friendly! As a vego and a sucker for age old favourites, I had Kadhai Panneer which was rich in flavour and yet light – @ Rajeev Dua, I agree with you on the genuine Indian flavours without attempting to kiwi-ise…Like! :) We also tried the Tandoori Taal, this one was awesome. Great food, loved the shared platters for entries. We have been with the family on a few occasions and are working our way through the Curries, I love the Sagwala. Keep room for Dessert as the friendly staff will twist your arm at the end.

Shor bazaar is the best authentic Indian cuisine I have ever tasted in Auckland. Their food is delicious, ambience is awesome and service is remarkable. I celebrated my daughter's 18th birthday party there and everyone just wanted to lick their fingers as the food was so delicious. Their chicken dishes, rogan josh, dal makhni and paneer taka tak were to die for....super delicious. My daughter and her friends loved it and we now want to do all our parties there and go there again and again. I feel why go anywhere else when Shor bazaar provides you with excellent food, excellent ambience and excellent service....what more can you ask for when you want a wonderful evening. Thanking my stars finally found the best A+ Indian place Shor bazaar. All I can say don't waste your time trying other places the one best stop for Indian cuisine is "SHOR BAZAAR".

Food OK but not enough to compensate for poor service. Food (5 mains) took an 70 minutes to arrive while the restaurant was moderately full. Soup was ordered as entree well before the mains were ordered but received it while the mains arrived.
