One of my close friends who is a chef at the same time a part time food blogger at “Masarap Din” invited me to try out some of his latest dishes on offer at Columbus Coffee in Grafton, he is the head chef there and they do have Chef’s specials on offer that changes on a regular basis. These dishes are created by him and expect it to be an amazing fusion of Kiwi Cuisine and Asian more specifically Filipino, a creativity that brings amazing flavours to some Kiwi favourites.
Place was great, very tidy and quite big. I love the fast service too. As for the coffee, it’s good but doesn’t stand out from other cafés. Overall, it’s a great place with reasonable price for your coffee. 😁☕️☕️☕️
Came here today for a quick feed in between studying and I was not disappointed. I ordered the tacos that came with a side of wedges (weird combination- right?!) anyways the wedges were crisp and the tacos delicious. Definitely will be back for another study break!
Had the Belgian hot chocolate here. Both good. Just like all Columbus coffees. Service quick and friendly. Wide range of hot chocolate to choose from. Get a little fish marshmallow.
we dined here for breakfast a few times recently and had our go to of eggs bene which was spot on every time. good food and good coffee backed up by quick service. just what we like for breakfast. we will be back each time we go to Auckland.
Situated right next to Auckland City Hospital and within 1min walk to Auckland Domain. Their coffee is not the best but have to give them credit for the quality of food they serve. There are plenty of hot options from kitchens and large portion for its price. I had a Vietnamese baguette which has alot of fillings and flavours. The slow-cooked pork ribs was soft and juicy and the meat falls off the bones.
I come here everyday for coffee, lunch and quite often breakfast. In my opinion it's th best franchise cafe I've been to in Auckland, with th best presentation of food, and also variety of food. Th lovely lady that makes my coffee called Amy- makes magnificent coffee, which she had gotten an award for! They always switch up th food in th cabinet so it's never boring. But all th little cakes and muffins in there are th prettiest ones you'll find around! Huge fan ^^
Breakfast and lunch place with classmates and colleagues. Mainly service people from hospital and uni. Good coffee and take away food. I like Hot chocolate and latte Royale

After two weeks of eating the bland lacklustre food at the cafes in the Hospital I ventured out with a very low bar but the food was fantastic. It was flavoursome and the menu whilst small offered a variety of options. The cabinet food looked amazing. The cafe is worth the extra few steps out the front door. I regret not discovering it sooner!
Columbus Grafton is conveniently located by Auckland Hospital, The Domain and Med School with buses just outside. It's my preferred cafe to visit whenever I'm visiting family in hospital because the coffee is always fantastic, service is friendly and their food is delicious, a treat on the eye and the palate.
For anyone who does not want to get a coffee with any of the coffee places within the hospital and anyone wanting something more substantial for breakfast, people come to Columbus Coffee which is conveniently situated outside the hospital.
It's a good place to work on laptops, considering the multitude of power ports scattered throughout the café and it is mainly an issue of finding a convenient spot and connecting to WiFi. That said, it isn't free and tends to be a tad slow so hotspotting it would usually be a better idea.
A bonus for any Auckland DHB staff - proof of staff ID will give you a bonus discount, whether it is food or coffee related.
I did not order breakfast the day the pictures were taken but I would normally go for the big breakfast - hearty but eggs have a tendency to be overdone (especially when ordered scrambled.) Sunny side up or over easy is probably the easier way to go.

A favorite Cafe. Food excellent and they always go the extra mile for their patrons.
Had lunch. A little disappointed with meal steak and mushroom. Steak overcooked and swimming with the mushroom sauce and a lot of garlic
The team here at Columbus are nothing but the best, making me feel special everyday I come for coffee or brunch.

Columbus Cafe have catered for me twice now for a small working lunch. The selection of club sandwiches were delicious, beautifully presented and the process from ordering to pick up was excellent. Much appreciated and will definitely use again. Thank you!
