Tasty flavouring unlike authentic tasting clean sushi. Thick cut sushi but was too pricey.

Go there on a regular basis. The staff know a good majority of my mates from very nearby. Everything there is yummy and prices are good. Recommend you try it
Located in the Pitt St food court, Hobson Sushi has a great selection of fresh sushi and hot food. Their healthier choices such as brown rice and katsu salads are also great options.

My favourites are the soft shell crab sushi, smoked salmon sushi and the takoyaki. Bonus points for the owners remembering that I love extra pickled ginger :)

It's clean, friendly, fresh, reasonably priced and uncompromising quality. I've seen the owner toil away at his art for nearly two years. He's from a 5 Star Hotel training, such people don't know how to deliver anything other than ridiculous levels of quality - it's the best sushi outlet in Auckland.

It was really fresh and nice, also prices not too expensive, will come back.

This place has very fresh and reasonably priced sushi. They are not cheap on their ingredients either. I'm Japanese and I think this is one of the best takeaway sushi places in the city. Keep up the great work!

Love this place!!!
I always go here for a quick nice lunch before work. The man and lady that manage the store are friendly and very helpful! The sushi is delicious and fresh. The rice they use for the nigiri is also very nicely cooked with vinegar, the perfect sweet and slightly tangyness of the rice with sweet egg topping is my favourite!

This discreet Sushi Takeaway place might not have a big signboard or attractive seating arrangements to have you readily walk in. I would however recommend you drop by the next time you are on Hobson Street for a quick bite or a takeaway.

The seating arrangement is very little and in fact when I sat down to eat out of my Sushi box, I was literally on the street on a rickety chair while some men were working on loading a truck with boxes, only a few meters from me. Even though this experience was not particularly charming, I actually quite enjoyed the meal.

The food is simple yet flavourful, my favourite was the ones with Tobiko (these are coloured fish eggs). Not only because they were so colourful but because they just add a different kind of flavor to your sushi eating experience. It might be an acquired taste though if you're not too fond of it yourself. Apart from these, all the others which I picked up were nice and fresh.

Special mention to the adorable attendant at the shop, who was more than happy that I was visiting. This might not be the first place I would pick to go eat sushi at in Auckland, but it is definitely memorable.
