We decided to try this place after asking some diners who were just leaving if they enjoyed there food. Nice clean premises with an eclectic decor. We were seated with menus & hot Jasmine tea. So hard to choose from the beautiful pics in the menu!
We ordered two types of fried dumplings, a pork dish and a beef dish. Food came out fast, nice big portions and full of flavour!

[Egg fried rice] Just a normal egg fried rice you can buy in Chinese takeaways. Taste was good. I would gave 5 star if the fried rice had the flame flavor from the wok.

To be honest, the best food I had ever order is the fish soup and rice cake (dessert), they're full of flavour and greatly tasty, you should try them.

Nice place to get a round of drinks with the boys or even dinner with the family. The beef pepper stir fry was superb, the beef was velvety and tender. The spicy chicken was their version of what spicy house has to offer.
The tempura veg and har gow was alright, have had better.
All in all a nice place to visit specially if u are keen on a drink.

Good siting area ( table for 6 and they do have a room where you can have more than 14 people and do a get together) .

Not the most famous dumpling houses on dom rd but perhaps deserves to be. I love the layout, the staff, and the decor. The menu is extensive, delicious and affordable. steamboat is great for byo dates or small groups and tends to be less rowdy as a bit more secluded. (Upstairs). Don't be shy about asking for a doggy box. This food should never go to waste. π€€

One of the best asian restaurants. All the meats were cooked just perfectly. The chicken was really juicey.They have hotpots too. Well done to the chefs... the food was just amazing. Price is very reasonable!! Staff are quick and attentive.

The food here is so delicious and fresh. We came here with mum and tryed many dishes of food and cold salads, stir-fry. The duck was so tasty. Staff are friendly and provide excellent customer service. Highly recommend to all. Dominion Road eateries are the best.

It was our first time coming here. This place was open until 11pm which is great! <br/>-About the place: Very cozy seats, cute decorations, nice warm atmosphere, cute lights. Big tables with different condiments. <br/>-About the food: Menu has a big variety of different meals. Very impressive quality of food! Chicken is perfectly soft and juicy, duck was boneless, dumplings were tasty with lots of filling! Preparation time was very quick. All food was very flavourful and nicely sauced!<br/>-About the price: The price for this food is not too high or too low. Most meals are at the range of $14-$16 dollars. Impressive dumplings price $12 for 20 dumplings! Alcohol was well priced. $5 wine (good pour), $6 beer (500ml). <br/>-About the drinks: Fridge for the alcohol-free drinks, many different drinks. As well as that fridge for different alcoholic beverages. Very nice Chinese beers, good wine selection. <br/>-About the staff: very polite, helpful staff. Amazing little restaurant upstairs next to Belly worship. When I first came to this place it was a little intimidating but the staff are friendly. Quick service π. The meals came a little slow but that's cause they cook it so fresh and the every meal we ordered was on point. Favourite dish was definitely the duck with garlic chili sauce.<br/>100% recommend and will definitely come again

The staff seemed annoyed and we had to leave the restaurant because she made us feel we were unwanted there, it was horrible experience and we were their regulars. We ate there 4 times already drove all the way from Takanini to eat their and the staff made us feel so uncomfortable that we had to leave the restaurant the food is good but the staff was horrible. We have been here quite a few times in the last few months and cannot find a fault. Yum chinese food, decent priced and convenient to visit. If you are around Balmoral and confused on where to eat (due to zillion options available), please do visit this place, as its worth it! We have had the special Scampi (hot) here and they are fantastic. Must try - stir fry eggplant with potato (trust me you will love it!). Rest of the options on the menu are worth trying too.

The waitress raised her voice at me in a condescending, abusive and patronising way that left me with a foul experience first time of this place. She did not accept my zamato gold offer which subscribers like myself pay for annually to get some benefit whilst eating out.<br/><br/>The restaurant does not honour it's zamato gold deal as per zamato regulations. The prices are very affordable at about $10-12 per noodle dish. Price = 5/5. Service = not as attentive if youβre looking for A-star customer service but it has no impact on me whatsoever I just wanna eat good food. Come here for the food not the atmosphere you wonβt regret it fellas

Can't stop my chopsticks on the stir-fry pork belly slices($15.8). Slightly spicy, well-seasoned and absolute the rice killer! Buns(3 for $5.8) are authentic and so weighty that you can feel abundant fillings inside.<br/><br/>This restaurant features Northeastern Chinese cuisine which is famous for generous portion and homemade taste. Most of dishes are at great value around tenish bucks. Great price (appro. $35 for two people). Good price Nice and friendly staffs.

Delicious for vegetarian dishes! My husband who is a vegetarian and I ordered the Eggplant with sweet and sour sauce and the fried salt and pepper tofu. The eggplant was thin and crispy with a rich sauce that was well balanced for sweet / sour. The tofu was yum! Cooked well - hot with a golden crispy crust. Iβd recommend a bowl of rice or two to accompany these dishes as they had a little spice (we requested medium hot)<br/><br/>Service was ok, the staff are there when you need but majority of it is self service - cutlery, tea, condiments etc. Dishes are reasonably priced and good for sharing. Would visit again when we feel like Chinese!

Been here with zomato gold. We had spring rolls, Chao fan, sweat and sourh pork and dumplings. The dishes are yum and generous. The beverages are cheap. Will come back soon!

Staff are friendly, food is amazing and affordable! There are quite a few varieties ranging from hotpot-style meals, big sharing plates and to individual meals. Another plus is the fact that it is open till quite late which is perfect for a late night meal.

The Zomato Gold menu is restricted here even within the Main menu, which is weird. The food tasted awesome however, and the portions were plenty. It is good value for the price but one noteworthy drawback is that the service can be a little slow (at least during late in the evening, when I went.)

2.5/5 Rating<br/>Tucked away upstairs on Dominion Road is Golden Steamboat. We were the only patrons at the time and we had to ran out own menus and place our order at the counter. Tea is self serve.<br/><br/>The waiter was friendly but the whole service was rather slow. Food was slow to be served even though we were the only ones in the restaurant at the time. Our dumpling order was incorrect. We ordered pork and cabbage and was given pork and chive.<br/><br/>Highlights: the booth dining areas are nice and private and give a nice view of Dominion road.<br/>The fried dumplings are nice and crispy. The lamb and cumin fried rice was nicely done and was full of flavour.<br/><br/>Lowlights: the boiled dumplings were not intact and had all come apart. The need noodles lacked flavour.<br/><br/>Would probably only come back for the pan fried dumplings.
