A popular spot in Newmarket with locals, visitors and workers in the area. Whether you're after a coffee, food or a snack you won't have a problem finding something. There is a nice large area sectioned off for you if you're visiting with a group of 5 or 6 to sit. I worked in this area, that allowed me to still be part of the atmosphere with space to focus on my work. Lots of table space so I got to spread out and nice that the power points are available to plug into. I had the scrambled eggs and sourdough toast, lots if butter and a soy flat white. My visitors had the frenchtoast and big deal meals! It closes at 3 the team was great leaving us to wrap up as they cleaned and packed down other areas of the Cafe. Very attentive staff, friendly and quick. Food tastes just as great as it looks. I will for sure be visiting a bit more and bringing friends along on my next visit. #ExploreAuckland

Carlton Gore Cafe is our regular place to get Saturday breakfast now 😊 You never get disappointed here. Good food,good coffee and even better service. I didn’t take my dog this week as it was a bit cold for sitting outside but they are defiantly pet friendly and it is a perfect place if you’d like to sit for a coffee when you have your dog around. 100% recommended.

had early brekkie here, coffee here was quite nice. chilli scramble egg was fluffy and tasty, while the toast was too hard to cut and chewy, center was soft. Same thing happened to my toast. or maybe just need a better knife 😂 I got the minted pea mash with poached egg. the presentation I give 10/10, and they really good on poached eggs, both of mine are perfect. The pea mash was a little bit sour. Staff here are so helpful and friendly. Anyway the experience here can be 8/10.

Good food at a good price point with eightthirty coffee accompanying. But I cannot thank the staff enough for how calmly and patiently they spent a good 20 minutes trying to successfully retrieve my phone from the gap between their sliding doors when my son got it stuck there. They are true heroes

I always start my day with a cup of flat white at Carlton gore cafe. It wakes me up every morning and it’s the best coffee shop in new market region. Nice environment and meal. 5 star recommended,if u haven’t been here, don’t hesitate bring you friend and family, Worth a try.

Delighted Sunday brunch, relaxing environment, good service, nice staff and very pleasant, as for the food, I personally think is standard, not too much surprise, however, is a great place to catch a coffee with a friend or just simply enjoy a simple brunch. *Had creamy mushroom, which is great, not too creamy yet not too light just balance.

GOREgeous 🤩😝🥰 [I didn’t order their eggs bene and I regret so much ‘cus omg it looks so amazing! Probably the prettiest eggs bene I’ve ever seen. 😂🥺I got their mushroom on toast (a classic brunch dish I usually get) which I really enjoyed. There’s nothing super out of the ordinary/extraordinary about their menu (as in it’s just typical cafe food) but it’s definitely tasty. I’m a sucker for chai lattes and they’ve got me sorted here 😝😍. I absolutely love the modern industrial design look of their outdoor table and the simple aesthetic of their plates which goes so well with the tabletop. (How they plated the food is a yes from me too). Yes, I fall in love with dinnerware lol. But hmm...the vibe indoor’s just not the same. -> BE BACK OR BACK AWAY? I’ll be back, to try the eggs bene haha. I’m not sure if there’s a lot of other things I want to try on their menu but yeah I like this cafe. And I love how it’s a bit hidden, tucked away on the less busier side of Newmarket. Honestly I didn’t really expect much and I was left pleasantly surprised and satisfied.]

Our family visited Carlton Gore for coffee and this place was a gem! Loved the atmosphere, outside was great not too hot or cold and most of all the food. Coffee was great, brownie was probably the best brownie I’ve had in ages. Almond croissant is recommended too :)

I had breakfast here with a big group. Unfortunately a couple of errors were made, orders were missed. The coffee was great and consistent across the table. I had an omelette which was good but needed more seasoning. It was also not very big for its price point.

So happy I found this little place! We ordered the Orange blossom hotcakes 🥞, French toast brioche 🍞 and a basic poached eggs on toast with a side of Avocado 🥑🍳 Everything was amazing, the fruit balanced the sweetness of the hotcakes (you could just taste a hint of orange blossom) and the food arrived really quick too!

Very happy, my food was delicious, as was wifeys. Only forced by her to drop the rating because there was no child’s options. Now I’m not a fan of making extra food (which usually is pretty limited in nutrition value) but what about some small portion options? Actually after the coffee I think this deserves more, I’m going to 5 it and suggest you look at small portions too

Dining in for lunch on a Saturday was surprisingly quiet! Styled with white wire chairs, shades of blue cushions and marble tables, this cafe looks sleek! There are plenty of great options on the menu we were spoilt for choice. We took our waiter, Donald’s recommendations and ordered the Signature cured eggs bene and Herb corn fritters. The eggs bene was different! But worth the risk - with sugar cured prawns, poached eggs, toasted croissant and sambal hollandaise sauce it had just the right amount of spice. Definitely worth trying for a new take on a classic and if you like prawns or a bit of punch in your sauce. The prawns and poached eggs were cooked perfectly. The corn fritters were nice and fresh and far from simple. The fritters worked well with the sides of poached eggs, avo, tomato relish, kale, shredded pecorino cheese and beetroot purée. A great option for vegetarians. Coffee was a great and served just the way we like it. Thanks Donald for the great service and good recommendations. We’ll be back to try more dishes, which we hope will be just as good as the ones we tried today!

Have been this place a few times over the year. It always has a small crowd which is good. Always like their settings- modern and upbeat. We had some cabinet food this time. My pulled pork bap was yummy and spicy. Paninis was not too bad neither

Although a nice place to grab a quick lunch or coffee, but I felt the price for mains was a bit high for the service and food they are providing. We ordered Laksa bowl which was pretty much bland and the shawarma cauliflower which was very tasty but by the end my hand started aching because the veggies and the bread both was very tough to cut.

Great find in Carlton Gore! Love the food and the service was fast and friendly. The potato galette was the highlight of my Eggs Benedict as it was good. The place was spacious and well-heated.

Great find! Recommended: Creamy mushrooms, bubble waffle (might not be on menu anymore?) Ambiance: Came here for a late brunch with my mum. The cafe was quiet, but nicely decorated and spacious so we opted to sit outside. They even have a little bowl of water for the doggos which is great! Service: Staff were very efficient and attentive - service was fast and friendly but we didn't feel rushed to order or finish our food. Food: We ordered the bubble waffle w/ fresh fruit and the balsamic creamy mushrooms (as pictured). Both dishes were amazing! The bubble waffle was crunchy on the outside and soft/chewy on the inside (as it should be) and was accompanied with a variety of fresh fruit and even some little meringues. The syrup came in a little pot on the side which is also a bonus! The creamy mushrooms came very generously with two poached eggs and a lot of sauce - I'm a firm believer that any creamy mushroom dish needs to come with the creamy sauce so you can mop it up with the bread, and Carlton Gore Cafe did just that :D Price: Fairly reasonable and typical cafe prices. I'd say you get a lot more food than expected for the price. Overall: Will definitely be back for brunch again! Excited to try some new stuff and also drinks next time :)

Came here for lunch. Pretty good cabinet selection. Could have had more salad options in the cabinet. Staff were friendly and service was quick. Lots of seating and very spacious. The French toast was nicely presented and it was nice to have strawberries. The vegetable tortilla stack had plenty of vegetables and a good variety of vegetables. I really liked the pumpkin and the side of chutney that it was served with. The ginger slice was devine. Would definitely come back here again.

We went there today lateish in the afternoon. Very friendly greeting and service. Our hot drinks arrived promptly after making sure my 88 year old mum realized they normally serve double shot coffee. Our Tarakhi and chips was lovely as was the toasted sandwich. A great find.

Recently brought by new owners and changed from Urban cafe we had to check out Carlton Gore Cafe. The coffee was great, tick! There is a good selection on the menu, lots of things I want to try. This time I had the avocado bruschetta with a side of bacon - it was so good!!!
