I just happened to see this place as I was leaving Mitre 10. What a nice little spot. I only planned to order a coffee but saw they have chowder on the menu, so I gave it a try. It was delicious as well as the coffee. I'll be back to give the other food a try. The cabinet food looked delicious too.

My friends and I had a great time with this cafe, the vibe was great with lots of light too! Food was well portioned, price is reasonable too. Ordered eggs bene and mochaccino, it was perfect as! it was one of the best place to go here in Botany. Had a chance to meet michel, their barista, and a female staff who were both friendly and accommodating! Waiting time is not too bad, freshly made meals and for sure you'll be satisfied with their dishes. Lots to choose from menu, love it! PS: you order on their counter so don't expect someone to take your orders, it's pay as you order cafe. 😊 To the owners: maybe add some indoor plants to make it more cozy! Your spot is sooo perfect for it! 🌿

Have always enjoyed my meals here since it was Columbus Coffee and now Sequel. Great menu options and also a well-stocked cabinet if you didn't want to order from the menu. Tea came in small cast iron teapots and could've done with an extra half spoon of loose tea leaves for a good brew. Food was tasty and service was fast & friendly. Clean, tidy & spacious cafe.

Led by the owner, John, this place has a friendly and efficient staff. The food is quite good but I must give special mention to the savory muffin.👍👌 I also noticed that some of their condiments bear the brand Trader Joe's, which is a specialty grocery based out of the L. A. area. Surprising but a big plus for me. It can get crowded especially during Sunday lunchtime. Personally I prefer visiting Saturday morning to enjoy their coffee and food. Free wi-fi is available.

My colleagues and I were in Auckland for work and we had the pleasure of eating breakfast and lunch here over 2 days. A clean café with a modern décor, friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere. The café could accommodate our pre-order of 12 and I had the Vietnamese chicken salad. All the meals were well presented and looked delicious, so I wished I could have stayed in Auckland longer and try the other items such as the burger, fish and chips, poke bowl or steak salad. Keep up the great work Sequel Café.

Very nice! The Matcha Latte is exceptional, I haven't tried something like it before and can highly recommend it. The food arrived quickly and was delicious. The staff are lovely, definitely recommend a visit.

We've been here recently for lunch. Impressions are the best. Tidy and spacious premises, friendly and helpful staff. The food is delicious. We had fish and chips (john dory) and butter chicken. We'll be back definitely.

Grabbed a quick snack after feeling peckish. Opted for a caramel cupcake and it was delicious. The frosting wasn't too sweet and the cupcake was a really nice texture. I was expecting it to be dry and stale but it wasn't. It was great. However at $5, it was pricey.

Very over priced for what you get! $4.50 for x2 small mush rooms is abit ridiculous if you ask me! Portion sizes are tiny! One of the worst Columbus cafes out there!

Gone here a couple of times on weekdays. The recent visit I had, I ordered a hot chocolate and it was put at extra hot. I’ve had coffee and hot chocolates before and they were at a good level of temperature. Will come back to try again tho, the hot chocolate just left me a burnt feeling tongue and too hot to hold for a long time. 6 months after the previous review: I came here today to enjoy a lunch for two which almost costed me $40 of which the food was not even worth the price and I’m sure other cafes could do better. There was also this one Asian lady who had no customer service. I do not recommend getting food at this branch but coffee is average.

You would think that one Columbus is the same as another but there are good & bad depending on who runs them. This is a good one. Located near Mitre 10 Mega, there is a large amount of seating so it's good for big groups too. Service was okay- polite & efficient but missing that friendly banter you look for in a local. I tried the Paleo breakfast swapping the salmon for bacon & a latte. The coffee was good. Breakfast was nice - all elements were good. Only missing the cress which would have really brought the dish alive.

Really love the coffee there. Each time we go there we have to order flat white and mocha frappe ! Kids friendly environment. The owner and the staffs are all very nice. Got special dish like Asian fried noodles. Dal tastes very yummy too!

I've come here a lot over the years and have always enjoyed the coffee, today's latte was no exception. My daughter declared that the chocolate brownie was the best and most fudgy brownie she's had in a long while. She was offered the choice of whipped cream or yoghurt and took the cream. One moment there was a plate full of brownie and cream, the next moment an empty plate. I took the spinach and cream cheese muffin and liked that it was heated through just enough without any spoiling of the texture as can happen elsewhere. The cafe is spacious, clean and the decor welcoming. The staff were clearing the tables quickly. The free wifi is through Zenbu which requires a login. Cafe has instrumental music playing in background. For the younger set there are two wooden highchairs and a basket of soft toys which looked freshly laundered.

Breakfast food! Lunched here a few times and quite enjoyed the food here. Today we got the eggs benedict and big breakfast along with a long black and a mochaccino. Coffee was good, and the food was good. Although the hollandaise sauce was more on the sour side for my liking. Service today was quite slow and inconsistent. Usually they're very efficient, but today our food came separately a good 20minutes away from each other. I noted other tables complaining of the same issue. My mochaccino was forgotten and I had to remind the staff at the counter to make it after we finished our meals. I know they can perform better, If you're in the area, it's not a bad cafe.

July 2015, Very happy with their service ... We booked a table for 20 people on sunday for breakfast and they've managed to keep all of us happy. Thank you! June 2016, Was one of my favorite nearby cafes to go to for breakfast. We went to repeat the same group outing as last year mentioned in my first review and booked a table a week before asking for it to be in the glass room. I spoke to the owner face to face and made sure he got all the details. I rang a day before our booking and went through the details again to make sure they had it all right. Went there on the day to find the glass room closed for a "Private Function" and they crammed all 15 of us on a table next to the kitchen with no space to move. When I asked why they said they have a private function in that room every Friday (which they failed to mention the 2 times I spoke to them and requested the place). Was very dissapointed at the lack of communication and not owing to the mistake they have made. We all left to look for another place and will never be booking for a group there again

Come here for work and it's just your standard coffee is allgood does the job. An yet to try the food. Maybe teach the staff some manors and now to swear out loud so dinners can hear. Was in a work meeting and heard "FFF that" from out the back will continue to be back as its a good meeting spot but yeh maybe have a word to staff re: work etiquette

Came here for lunch. Service was slow, tables were uncleared, the place was not busy at all but staff don't seem to care much of the outside table area. Food was average. Disappointed with the quality of food given price tag on them.

I actually really loved the bagel with salmon and cream cheese along with the avocado on the side. It was also not too expensive so I would highly recommend it and I would gladly come back for more!

Very spacious setting with three options, fully indoor, balcony with shelter and ventilated by many windows, nonetheless outdoor with umbrella. Service was friendly, proactive in offering loyalty coffee card. I was expecting a bit more seasoning, the scrambled eggs tasted bland and too watery. However, the hash brown rescued the remainder of the items. A very large proportion for $19, coffee on the other hand is their profession and the standards are consistent. Need to work on the presentation, especially the Paleo breakfast. It's lacking cookery efforts. At least grill the tomato and avocado before presenting on the plate. It felt like the plate is full of raw ingredients they're about to cook. A bit disappointed for the price.

Great food and atmosphere. The manager is so friendly. Lots of space for prams. We've been here a couple of times with the whole family for lunch. Second time we were so impressed with food. It's improved markedly and the menu is fresh. We'll be regulars :)

Don't bother, the food is stale and some of the worst I've had and this is the second time I have been, thinking I might have struck an off day. The coffee was certainly not up to 'Columbus' standard. The cafe smelt of old cooking oils and was most unpleasant. On the up side - they can only improve.

i think valentines is the best buffet ever and i love it there. it could be dumb and all but its good food and tidy manukau is a great valentines to go to. take your family there its cool. the floor clean, it ha sent changed much but i still like it and there are great people there that serve you.
