Review Seoul Chicken Cbd - Auckland Central

FUNGUS CHICKEN and also SWEET PEPPER chicken is a must have! This place serves Korean chicken unlike other places within Auckland. The chicken pieces are large and they retain their crunchiness even with sauce on it. The unique aspect of this place is that it has flavours that are not offered at other places. Especially the FUNGUS chicken which is nominated for Auckland's iconic 100dishes, being a sour cream and chive sauce topping. I ordered two $22 chicken portions for two people, and it served us for dinner and some for the following day lunch. Will be back again!

Really solid comfort food. Just their chips and one skewer is definitely enough for one person. Their snowflake chips and rose skewer is really tasty, service was quick and the staff is kind. It’s a small shop so definitely better to take away rather than dine in. Will be back:)

I've eaten here 4 times in the last 2 months and the food has been consistently excellent (rice bowls with regular, spicy and supreme chicken), burger with regular chicken, fries/chips. Chicken is juicy and crispy. Fries/chips were some of my favourite in Auckland (I prefer them crispy). Try this place out... you'll start dreaming of fried chicken!

Super crispy batter with tender chicken. Amazing.

As a new Korean Fried Chicken place, we had to try it. The menu here is fairly simple, whole or half chicken, original or spicy. They do have sides (Chilli Chips) as well. The chicken came with pickles so all you need is an order of chicken. There isn't much seating in the place, almost a hole in the wall. There are a few "tables" where you can enjoy the chicken. The chicken here is the crispiest I've had, even when smothered with the spicy sauce. Nice tender and juicy chicken and the spicy sauce was spicy. The original was ok but the spicy had a much better flavour. We did a phone order (since it was a fairly large order) and then just picked it up. It took about 10 minutes to cook a chicken from scratch. One of the better Korean Fried Chicken places in Auckland and definitely one the of the crispiest even smothered in sauce.

It’s crazy how good Seoul Chicken is. Have you ever heard of a speciality chicken food joint that closes for the day because they’ve run out of chicken? Definitely give both a go and order the half and half. Granted, it’s not boneless but the flavour and texture more than makes up for that fact 😉

Best KFC I have ever eaten. The chicken was juicy, the sweet spicy sauce perfectly balanced and the crunch so satisfying.

Freaking delicious and fresh! Totally beyond my expectations! Good to have you open during AKL Lv3 lockdown... The boss there was nice thanks for helping me out to find you... couldn’t trust you google map...

The chicken is amazing, that crispy skin with the tender meat underneath it absolutely devine. The sauce perfect for dipping, even though it's hot, YUM. They certainly give you a satisfying meal

They actually renovated and changed the menu. You can’t buy single pieces now! But I did enjoy the OG, snowflake and sticky spicy wings :) super juicy and crispy

Omg, their fried chicken was so good! We didn’t have high expectation but their fried chicken did surprise us. Love the spicy ones which tasted so yummy, crispy, sweet and spicy. Pickles were delicious as well. Hope they can have boneless fried chicken soon!!

I loved trying new lunch menu today. Tasty pieces of chicken with rice and salad. Visit here. You won’t be disappointed.

Really friendly staff and nice environment. The chicken is definitely spicy, and also tastes delicious. The crumb on the outside of the standard pieces is different to your standard fried chicken and is absolutely delicious. They also wrap it in foil so the sauce does not leak through, which is super useful. Although it is quite expensive, it is definitely worth it.

Nice simple menu, but great quality and good value for money. 5 pieces of chicken is too much to eat for one person but good as a side dish for a family. Nice crispy coating and good flavors. As it is fried chicken it can be a bit messy to eat so they provide you with a disposable glove so your hand doesn't get too messy. Also be careful as the chicken is very hot even after waiting 5 to 10 mins. They hand make the spicy sauce so it doesn't seem to always be available but its worth the wait.

We had original and spicy chicken, and tried the new flavour “The Fungus” which is my new favourite! Loved the new flavour, hard to explain strongly suggest people to try!

For takeaway !! Me and my friends were craving some spicy Korean style chicken wings . This place had us satisfied , some ended up crying of spice haha and some enjoying the spice... laughs and cry’s all around lol . Enjoy it with pickled radish is a must . If this is not how to enjoy authentic spicy Korean kings in nz then I don’t know where ??? Give it a go

It wasn't the authentic Korean seasoned chicken.
It was a strange spicy taste.

They have the best chicken 👍🏻

@seoulchickennz is one of our favorite Korean fried chicken place, their spicy chicken and chilli chips are just so perfect! We love to grab some to takeaway for our movie night in.

It was very juicy and tasty. It’s no ordinary fried chicken, they put effort and quality to it. It’s a must visit! However, the spicy is a little overwhelming so be cautious

Best chicken in town

Came here with my sister to satisfy her cravings and got the whole chicken half'n'half. Honestly they are gooood. Crispy and fresh chicken, loved the spicy version because they are not joking with the spice (all runny noses afterwards). Reasonably priced for the quality. But be warned....the radish will leak so bring extra tissues =)) Double chins after this meal.

I like their spicy chicken but when I order through uber eats, the price is quite expensive T.T

A Korean chicken store in Auckland CBD which opened at the beginning of this year. Like how they only use free-range chicken, as I don't think I've ever seen any other Korean one in Auckland. The chicken pieces ar big and tender and the seasoned chicken is very flavourful.

I've been to this place about 4 times now. The chicken is nice and crispy. I'm surprised about the other reviews complaining about the wait time as I've never waited too long for my order. The longest I've waited was around 25mins and was because they had ran out of drumsticks for my order. I've bought it during the day and at night around 8/9pm.

The original have a little spice to it which I love. The seasoned chicken is really good, I don't find it too spicy since my spicy level is quite high. But those who wants to try, the radish will help cool down the heat from your tongue. I also 100% recommend the chips. It's a must have when I buy the chicken.

Had the spicy and non spicy chicken mix - tastes fine but too many wings without much meat rather than legs. Also given its just basic korean style spicy chicken cant see what the 40$ for 10 piece is all about.

Just finished my dinner from this place. All i can say is just “wow...”. Honestly, I was little bit irritated because of the waiting time from previous customers there, but i found my self a nod the head repeatedly after a bite of chicken.
The crispness is crazy. spicy sauce on chicken is very very addictive. Im not a big fan of spicy food but I decided to tryout in this cold weather.
How come they make this spicy sauce mixed one soooooo crispy?! it supposed to be soggy but it wasn’t.
I thought it’s bit pricy then others but after i finished my meal, this kinda thinking’s like completely gone. I’ve tried most of all K Freid Chicken in Auckland but this place is the “best of the best” even not only in the korean style chicken. Worth it. Definitely worth it.

My friends and I have been wanting to have Korean fried chicken for so long, so we decided to try this place out.

First of all we went on a Tuesday night around 7.30/8pm. There was only 1 staff operating then after 30mins another staff came to help. We got our order an hour later after saying itll take about 30mins.

The store is a takeaway-style, no proper seating apart from a 4 tiny seats with safe boxes as tables.

Overall, taste-wise it was decent-- their original chicken actually had spiciness to it without being the saucy version, which is what I was after. Also comes with pickled radish. However, waiting an hour for 10pcs of chicken is a bit much.

Would I go back? Hmm, I dont know.

First time trying Korean fried chicken and it was asb awesome experience. So nice and crispy outer that's also tasty. I had the spicy version and it does get those sweat glands working. As a bonus it's free range chicken, which would explain the slightly more expensive price but well worth it.

This is the best fried chicken I have ever had!! Highly recommended!! Original and spicy both are so good, and the pickle that they make is so refreshing, I have tried different places fried chicken, and this shop is the best of the best! Have to try, and you will not regret!

Went here with my friends for lunch & got some for dinner!

Always come here for fried chicken.
They give you radish for side and gloves so you can eat without a mess.
Easily the best Korean style fried chicken I have tried in NZ, pieces are crispy and large with a 5 piece being enough for one person. Menu is currently simple but for the size of the place it is probably crucial.

Sticky hot sauce was my go to and highly recommend you give it a try as its not like any other hot and spicy sauce you will have tried (unless you have tried korean then yeah that.

Wait was a bit long but worth it in the end, hopefully they can streamline their process.

Definitely a take out establishment, not a lot of room to eat in.

I love this place! Big pieces of chicken!I live on the north shore and I have come into the city to buy it and driven home and taken a bite of the chicken and it is still so crunchy! The sauce on the spicy chicken is so delicious and the service is so good! The chicken is free range and halal. They also use eco friendly boxes to serve it in! A really worthwhile place to go and enjoy some chicken!

Bit over cooked and oily, sauce just sweet but nothing.

Don’t recommend

Try other Korean style fried chicken or better have kfc.

Bit over cooked and oily, sauce just sweet but nothing.

Don’t recommend

Try other Korean style fried chicken or better have kfc.

Very oily fried chicken I have ever eaten, ordered and they delivered within 10 minute which was good, make sense to fry pieces of chicken. But after arriving at home, the oil spread to the bottom line of the box and the peel of the chicken was not well done at all. What a ridiculous food!!! I would not recommend this location to purchase for rest of my life!!! Price was negotiable compared to KFC, KFC is the best chicken I think and 10 piece for $35 wow unbelievable, KFC 10 piece just under $20 with side or 1.5L soft drink.

This place was truly amazing! This is up to par with KFC and one of the best Korean chicken places in Auckland. The original one isn’t bland, it’s spicy and salty. The spicy sauce one is also delicious and not too overwhelming. Will definitely come again. Highly recommend trying this place out!

No one can beat fried chicken from kfc. but no one can beat home made chicken like SEOUL CHICKEN.

I would absolutely definitely 100% recommend!
Fiona
The spicy fried chicken here is truly something special, it's all home-made. Think fast food except made with love and tasteful skill. Enjoy !
