Review Jar Story - Auckland Central

Good food, better price than other places around. Only downside is some of the food (the chicken and fish) is probably pre-made. You can hear them using the microwave quite a bit during food prep. Still tasty, though!

. (01/2018) Wheelchair accessible entrance is available from Swanson Street, next to the fitness centre - as updated by the owner. ...................................... (09/2018) This Salad shop is located inside Queen's Rise and can be easily spotted. Well maintained, managed and organised. Limited but comfortable seating is available in front. Beautiful ambiance and nice atmosphere. Friendly service and cheerful staff. They have good variety of organic and healthy drinks. Good for quick visits. Outdoor seating is not available. Reservation cannot be made in advance. PayWave facility is available at this location. Could not notice wheelchair accessible seating or high chair in plain view at this location. There is no dedicated parking area available and entrance is not wheelchair accessible.

Outstanding, ultra fresh salads, juices and soups as well as smoothies in a glass jar. This is quality and goodness right in the heart of the new Queens Rise fancy food court. A group of us all tried different jars. Pumpkin soup, Fresh almond milk, fresh beetroot and ginger juice, gorgeous colours and taste. And you can bring back 6 of your glass jars and they have an offer for you . Seriously worth checking out - highly recommended.

The Caesar salad I got was rancid.Had to throw away the whole thing, avoid this place at all cost.

Rating 2.5. Occupying a prime position in Queens Rise as you come up the escalator, the food on the menu & the photos sounded & looked good. The real form is a bit hit & miss. The salmon box was quite decent & enjoyable. The green curry on the other hand was a slop, with chunks of chicken & chunks of carrot, not appetising at all. The baos were in between. Had some good flavours, but tried to jammed too much into the mushy buns & all just became a mess. Service was bit patchy too.

The green curry was like cold prison slop. It was not food. One bite and I handed my plate back. Disgusting.

Great tasting bar buns
I tried their Chicken Bento through Mealpal. The first time I tried it, their chicken had quite a lot of hair. I mentioned it in my feedback. I tried it again recently and everything was just perfect. Highly recommended!

Been in Queens Rise a few times, not the best feel, hard to find if you're not looking for it - not sure it'll be around in a few years because it's so slow in there, a few businesses have already gone under. Food at Jar Story is freshly made but the salad and juice selection is very limited, it seems they are changing there business model right now shifting away from food in their display chiller.

We went to try their juice after seeing them on Instagram. Their brand name and pictures made us think the juices are served in jars so we went to try.

Awesome location inside Queensrise building. They have a nice sitting area as well. Limited menu. The good fact is that you get to customise your juice as well.

I ordered the orange & pineapple and my friend ordered orange, pineapple & pear.

Juice was nice and fresh.
Only recommendation would be if they serve in nice glass or mason jars if customers are sitting and having. It was a disappointment being served in takeaway glass. We are Instagram friendly generation and little presentation makes the experience even better.

I would definitely recommend fresh juice/salad lovers to try this place.

I would definitely recommend trying them, at least I can say so with full confidence for the Prawn Green Curry that I had yesterday.

It was a takeaway item that I decided for, upon my friend's recommendation and it was absolutely EPIC.

Not only is the food fantastic, but also, the container that they use for takeaways is made of sugarcane fibre and is therefore compostable.

Located in a convenient spot, right by the escalators upon entering Queens Rise. Jar Story has a small range of grab and go items, and dine-in lunch specials.

On this occasion, we decided to try out their lunch special and were pleasantly surprised. The girl on the counter was pleasant and friendly, and the food didn’t take very long to arrive.

The chia pudding was delicious, a favourite I will be coming back to.

A very nice salad place in Queen's rise. Good atmosphere and the food was delicious. Looking forward to trying some other items from their menu.

Really a good place to have lunch if you are working nearby. Fresh salad + yummy seafood chowder + friendly stuff = healthy and tasty lunch style. Will definitely recommend to my friends.

I work in CBD area and I almost have the seafood chowder every morning. The seafood chowder is the best. Also, the chowder comes with bread, so sweet~ I also tried the Tofu salad and soba noodle salad, that are so amazing! I will definitely recommend to my friend!

If you love strong flavorful food..this place is not for you..we had the soba noodles with sesame chicken salad and prawn tomyum salad.. hmm.. i dont hate it but i want to add more seasonings..the soba noodles had the sesame oil overpowering everything.. which is already expected but it was the only flavor you can taste...as for the tom yum prawns salad.. it should have been called creamy (?) Nutty prawn salad..they had a bit of lemon zest on it and it was slightly sweet, which reminded me of a lemon cheese cake.. i only realize it was a tom yum salad when i checked the tags on the display..i might go for the cold press drinks..or i might just pass this place completely the next time I visit the queens rise.. For $13.95 a salad, you would expect more from it. Friendly staff doesnt always make the cut.

I visited in the first week of opening so everything was still a work in progress. I tried the salad & juice combo for $15: vegetarian chilli tofu salad which was quite bland & not spicy as the name suggests & also the mint green juice which had a strong celery taste. I think I should have gone for something sweeter. They have added soup to their menu so I would like to go back & try some. Ladies that served me were very friendly.

Would be a 2/5 but the staff was too friendly so deserves a 3/5.

The seafood chowder seems to be the main special they push. Unfortunately this was made up of frozen ingredients. It was really cheap, under $8. However I would happily pay more if it was better tasting. The bread was cold as well.

The juices were delicious however.

Service: 5/5
Environment: 4/5
Presentation: 3/5
Food Quality: 1/5
Food Quantity: 4/5
Price per person: $8-$15

Very healthy food and beautifully presented. If you like juices, the Ruby Red is an absolute mmmmmust! Beetroot, carrot, apple and ginger - all lightly chilled with no added sugar or water.
