Came for dinner with a couple friends. The service was nice, staff were lovely and attentive when needed. Of course we ordered the flaming coconut prawn curry. This is definitely more for the novelty, price is a little high for the portion otherwise but the curry was really flavourful and heaps of prawns. The papaya salad was really flavourful and fresh, I would recommend this one too. Fried spring rolls were good but a little small. Shaking beef was good but a little basic personally, I wouldn’t order it again here. Overall we enjoyed the food though!

This restaurant has a very attractive ambience with its Vietnam themed decoration. The dishes are very well presented and they taste as good as they look. The stars of the show for me are the Fish Green Curry and the Caramelized Pork Belly - both go very well with steamed rice. There were 6 of us and we had a good time dining and mingling.

First time trying here for a late valentines celebration. We had the pork papaya salad, fish green curry and sizzling coconut prawn. The pork papaya salad was very nice, it has nice acidity and the pork belly was grilled nicely, definitely a good appetizing dish. Main was the green curry and the sizzling prawn. The green curry was very creamy and lots of flavour, really enjoyed that the most. The sizzling prawn came out looking quite nice with the flame, flavour wise I think was pretty average. The sauce tasted quite plain and the prawn had good texture (kinda like the ones you can buy from supermarket) but doesn't have the fresh seafood sweetness after taste. Also they could have given the prawn more char flavour to make it taste better. So overall I liked 2 of the 3 dishes we ordered. Also to note, service is quite fast here. Price is on the upper side, so a nice treat or date idea here.

We’ve enjoyed every dish we ordered. Strongly recommend the pork skewers - juicy and full of flavour. The prawn curry was also very smooth and rich, the lemongrass and lime goes really well together. Service can be very up and down depending on the staff working. The first time we went, the service was absolutely amazing. The waitress was so professional and advised us how much to order so that we didn’t order more than we needed. The other times, the waitress either missed out order or ordered the wrong quantity.

Pho here is pretty good. Noodle portion was a little less than other Vietnamese restaurants but the portion of meat was generous. I have enjoyed the tenderness of the raw beef and they clear broth (none of those yucky cloudy soup some restaurants serve). I think considering the amount of meat given, $20 for the Pho is good value. The grilled squid on the other hand was a little stingy in portion. While it is listed as entree, I felt that for$20 there could have been a few more slices of squid. Ambience was good and staffs were friendly. Overall good experience.

Just had a very pleasant meal at NEM Vietnamese fusion house in Parnell. I myself is not a big fan of Vietnamese cuisine but this place has completely changes my view. Staff was very attentive and helpful, especially Linh, very lovely person, totally made our day! What a great way to end the busy week. We ordered the flaming coconut prawn 🥥 , Sun bathing duck (crispy duck), beef pho, lemon grass chicken. We also had the fried spring roll for entree. Surprisingly everything was scrumptious, the crispy duck was definitely the highlight of the meal. Love the Vietnamese ice coffee too. SO GOOD. My experience dining here was wonderful, although the portion sizes did not fuel me up. The food was delicious. The flavours and service was spot on. I would recommend a group of 4 max, just because of the limited space. Their is sitting arrangements in the front of the restaurant and a beautiful displayed back yard, with sittings.

Looking for quality indian fusion food with less cream and artificial colours I recommend 31 bar and eatery. 31 masala chicken and schezwan chicken fried rice was 😋 yum. Clean and tidy place. The staff Kevin was very polite and with good smile and his suggestions were great. Good location and great venue. Something different from the normal sweet and creamy curries. Looking forward to come there regularly. Keep up the good work team.

Lovely place - very nice atmosphere and service was top notch. We got the NEM Hanoi (deep fried spring rolls) and Pillow Cake (sorta like puffs) - they were pretty good (probably 4/5s). The flaming coconut prawn - beautiful presentation and theatrics - the prawns were good but it was the curry that made this dish - very well balanced and tasty af. Can't go wrong with this one. We also got the broccoli just to balance things out. Discount through Zomato Gold which is a plus. All in all a great experience.

We were really excited to try this place as there were so many good reviews but I was a little let down - the coconut flaming prawn and the fish curry were both too creamy and the cream overpowered any other flavour in the dish. The presentation was really cool though and nice use of flames in both dishes! The eggplant was nice (loved the texture) but would have been better with some more sauce! The music was like a nightclub rather than a restaurant (but that could just be my personal taste) and it got really loud as the tables started filling up.

I came to Nem for the first time with 15 friends on a Saturday night. We were so impressed with the food and the service. The food was served very quickly, and the flavour of all the dishes was unbelievablely delicious and authentic! Our favourite dishes were the grilled fish, flaming coconut and the eggplant. This restaurant is 10/10, will definitely come back again!

We went to Nem last night to celebrate my boyfriends birthday. We loved everything from the atmosphere, service and most importantly....the food. We ordered the pork belly skewers, beef pho, and the calamari to start and it was delicious! Everything was superb! Then we got the duck curry and shaking beef for the mains and they were phenomenal! The sauce from the shaking beef will remain in mind! The beef was so tender. The duck curry was delicious! Very generous portions and it was cooked to perfection. The price was amazing for the quality and portions of the food. Staff were amazing too😊

This place is absolutely amazing. Came on a double date with some friends and we thoroughly enjoyed every bit. The ambience is very cool, and every bite of food was delicious from the calamari, to the fresh rolls, pillow cakes and popcorn chicken to the pho, lemongrass chicken and pork belly. Was absolutely excited to try out their food here considering in Auckland, good Vietnamese food is hard to come across. So we booked a table the day before we went, and the day we got there we were shocked to see they were closed. Doors locked, lights off. And this was during their usual business hours. Was hoping there would be staff in there preparing to open for lunch at 11am so I even dialled their number with no reply. We were very keen on coming here for lunch but was disappointed to have had a bad impression.

One of my favourites! Nice atmosphere, it made me feel I was in Vietnam. The flaming coconut prawns are a hit, they only get 10 fish each day so it's best to call them if you want one. They make their own dumplings and it's very tasty and flavourful. Customer service is 5 star :) it was a busy night but their staff was cool. We didn't feel they're rushing us and even explained the food we wanted. Minh was a great staff and made us feel so welcomed and I hope I can experience that kind of service in other 5 star restaurants as well. Thank you so much for the great night! Really enjoyed it.

Had such an awesome experience here. The food was amazing and the waitress was lovely. We had a bunch of different dishes, all of which were great. The lamb skewers, beef pho and clay pot pork belly however stood out the most. The lamb had a wonderful charred flavour to it, like they were cooked on charcoal and along with the sauce was just divine. The pho was so flavourful, there was greenery missing from the dish but I'd happily have another bowl or 2 😁. And last but not least, the pork belly was out of this world. It was so tender and the sauce was sticky and sweet and just all round delicious. Thanks for the brilliant food.

19th June 2020 Such an amazing hidden gem! Have never noticed this restaurant before considering we go to parnell almost every month. We ordered like 6 dishes and all were phenomenally good! First time I have raved this much on zomato. I had the beef pho as starter, flaming coconut shrimp as main and the vietnamese coffee. Can’t pick which one I liked best to be honest. All were spectacular. The rest of my mates’ meals were also delicious. My partner had the half duck curry and was full to the brim. Ambiance was also A+. A cozy little haven in the heart of parnell road. Also, the staff went above and beyond to make us savour my mini birthday celebration. Min was wonderful. Very efficient. Very on top of things. Very welcoming. He even showed me around the place including the mini garden. The location is perfect for business/ work parties. Highly recommend. Lastly, the price.. such a bargain already even without zomato gold. In hindsight, I probably should have just paid the full price. But the beauty of it all is it will for sure make me go back. More power to this resto and hope you get all the support.

It's very rare for me to be a 100% happy with a place- but this place was flawless! I had Pho Xao and Black sticky rice pudding. My friend had lemongrass chicken and mango sago pudding. I also had a Vietnamese coffee and a Saigon beer. I tried a bit of everything and it was all really good food! The friendly service and beautiful décor just added to the experience. Came here today with mates and we all were very impressed with not just the food but also the service. We booked for 3pm through zomato but had a hiccup - the restaurant was closed at this time. The menu has been changed, its more like other asian fusion restaurants out there... having the very similar and nibbles style dishes. But the manager says their menu will be changed soon. Came in for valentines dinner. The coconut prawn curry was really nice, especially with roti to dip. The portion size wasn't that big for $30 something. The papaya salad was also really nice, loved the portion size. Nice environment. Friendly staff.

We had: Spring roll - vietnamese i think it was crispy and nice Chicken dumpling Flaming prawn Rollin chicken Lamb curry - the best sauce!!!! I dont usually like lamb but the sauce is amazing! Dined here on the night of November 9th. Ordered chicken dumplings, lamb skewers, prawn salad, shaking beef, pork belly, beef carpaccio, garlic broccoli and tamarind soft shell crab. It was mostly delicious, with the crab, dumplings and pork belly (especially the pork belly) all getting rave reviews from our family of five. The Carpaccio was a bit average, the fusion style didn’t work quite so well with that dish. The pork belly had a lovely thick sticky sauce that the rice mopped up nicely too. Service was ok - staff were a bit slow on refreshing the bottled water, and there was some confusion over the dishes ordered initially. But they were otherwise friendly and helpful, and had service with a smile. We liked Nem, and we will go back for sure. There is plenty of competition with Asian Fusion restaurants in Parnell and Newmarket these days, and competition must be healthy because Nem, like others, all appear to be hitting a very high standard.

First time here, it was a sunny day and was in a great mood to have a nice lunch, first thing we noticed was that the waiter was friendly but with no hospitality training. Cocktails were too sweet and tasted like mocktails. So I was thinking maybe the food would be better, first dish to come out was the apple pork belly salad, my partner said was too sour for him, I normally like to eat sour and it was really quite sour for us. Second dish was beef carpaccio, it was way too sweet, we could only taste sweet and pickle, can’t say it is Vietnamese food, lacking depth of flavor, I didnt even take a second bite. Finally the curry arrived, it tasted ok but I can’t really find any heat or spice in the curry. The most I could taste was the coconut milk. It wasn’t a great lunch for us. Won’t come back.

We ordered the Flaming hapuka Green Curry 🍃🐟 and Flaming Coconut Prawn 🥥🦐 Both dish came out pretty quickly and it was presented very creatively. The dishes were tasty but the food was a bit cold 🥶 it would have been perfect if it was hot. Nonetheless, we had a very unique dining experience since it was our first time seeing a flaming dish being served in NZ 🇳🇿 Delicious Tip - If you love Tom Yum Soup then try out the Flaming Coconut Prawn, the soup base is very similar that with a sour tang 🤗

Another Parnell gem to add to the list! First time at Nem, they had only been open for a month and the place was packed!! The food took a little long to be served but worth the wait. We had the fresh fish spring rolls, sambal prawns and duck confit - highly recommend the duck. Great service and nice decor.

Food was lacklustre flavourwise. The flaming coconut prawns were noteworthy for lacking any discernible flavour. Lots of ingredients deep fried then soaked in sauce/curry which detracted from the meals. Nice decor. Presentation was excellent but bordering on impractical given table sizes. Staff very friendly but lots of small things needed sorting. We came with zomato gold which eased the disappointment but even with this wouldn't return as food quality is paramount.

Yum ! The food tasted quite different than the normal Vietnamese food in a good way. The flaming prawn and the green curry were great. The spring roll was also delicious, crunchy outside, but soft inside. Dish was around 25$ - 30$ and didn’t come with rice. Service was a bit slow. Food came quite slow. Customer next to us who came after us ordered the same thing and got their food first.

Disappointing. Marketed as fine dining but it definitely is not that level. Flavours were lacking and some food was luke warm. Lacked Vietnamese influence even though it is supposedly Vietnamese fusion. Most disappointing was the service. Staff were friendly but dont know the basics of hospitality. No water offered, took forever to clear plates, didnt bring any dessert spoons. Overall was not a nice relaxing dining experience. I always felt like I had to put my hand up and ask the waiters to do something that's super basic like fill my water. And it wasn't very busy. Unfortunately I wont be back.

My family and I had a great time at Nem :) We ordered the Flaming Coconut Prawn, the duck confit, Hapuka Green Curry, Pork Belly and Shaking Beef. Amazing food presentations especially with the flames. All the dishes were delicious - especially the Shaking Beef and Flaming Coconut Prawn. Portions were small but filling - we had it with rice. Service was good. It seems like they have taken the previous feedbacks on board as they now have cutlery prepared on the tables and staff were attentive and friendly. Only negative I can think of was that the lighting for our table in particular was quite dark. Overall a great experience. Would highly recommend!

We went for a big lunch and ordered two big dishes for the two of us. Waitress recommended we also ordered a side of steamed rice as our orders were both very “soupy”. Food was very nice. I especially enjoyed the rice ball curry and would highly recommend it to everyone. The dishes are more of a sharing type. We had a few issues with booking and the restaurant was very busy so booking is key. Ring them up as we emailed and they didn’t write it down. The service was not good. We initially didn’t have any cutlery and when we asked they brought back not enough. Our food came back fast but not all together and they forgot our order at one stage. When we ordered another round of drinks we had to ask three different people as they kept forgetting to bring it to us. Other that that the restaurant was nice and the decor was on theme. Overall a good restaurant to go to with friends and family but just watch out for the service.

A discreet restaurant located on Parnell Road. Love the ambience and their one of the kind decors. The flaming coconut prawn was different and great for photo shoot, the deep fried mushroom were nice and crispy but the prawns were slightly over cooked. The duck confit was excellently flavored with a glaze of honey. But the duck was slightly dry and could have been more tender. The meat in the beef pho was flavorful and tender. Only downside was the service. The staff was quite inpatient when taking our orders and a bit rude when serving our dishes. On one occasion she rudely asked us to move our belongings away so she can place the dishes. Except the unprofessional waitering, this restaurant is worth a try. One of the best Fusion restaurants I've tried. Flaming coconut prawn, shaking beef, hapuka green curry, pork belly salad were really really yummy. Duck confit portion was pretty big, rest were a little small for the price. We tried a few other dishes but didn't really like it. Vietnamese coffee tasted good as well. Great little restaurant with nice cozy decor. Ordered everything on the mains except chicken curry. Some dishes were worth mentioning like the Shaking beef, Flaming coconut prawn, Hapuka green curry and the Duck confit. The flavours were well balanced and tasted delicious. Service can still be improved. Great dining experience overall.

Cutest little restaurant. Décor is full of little details that make you feel like you are in another place. Food was also amazing. Had the Hapuka green curry which was rich and amazing. The shaking beef was also full of flavours. The chicken dumplings are a must.

Located in central Parnell, can train, bus or drive there. Vietnamese fusion, fancy with fair price; portion is slightly small, but fulfilling with the rice. Great atmosphere, although it is downstairs with narrow entrance, not quite friendly for mobility-handicapped persons. Overall, it is a great place to go!

Nem’s a budding new fusion restaurant hidden away in the middle of Parnell. Went a couple months ago with two others and we absolutely loved the decor and ambience! The service was a tad slow however the flavour and presentation of the food definitely made up for it. Would definitely return to try the other dishes!

I have very mixed feeling with our dinner last saturday night :') 5 of us and we used 3 zomatogold. Great deal for 6 foods in total. 1. The MAIN portions are tiny, except the duck * yes I understand its located in Parnell where everything is expensive. But still some of them is very small portion 2. The duck took longer to cook and all the good flavour just stick on the skin. So the meat is pretty tasteless. 3. The ahi salmon poke. The salmon has weird texture, like it is still frozen. Dressing was very salty 4. Caramelised pork belly, beef cheek, and fish curry were very salty too. 5. Service was nice but verrrry sloooow. We had to wait for cutlery etc 6. Sambal prawn was nice 👍❤ 7. The rice is still a bit dry and raw on some grains :( Conclusion, Come with zomatoGold 😁😁👍

Nice deco. Arrived at 9pm. It was rather a little cold inside not sure if the heater setting where right.  Friendly staff, we placed our orders. Entrees arrived but no plates. we had to ask for plates. Plates arrived but no cutlery so we had to ask for cutlery. Food was above average we ordered the fish spring rolls, wantons, sambal prawns and for main we ordered Hapuka curry and flaming prawns.  I did expect a little more in terms of taste, but overall a nice to place to dine with family or a date night out.

Lovely decor and ambient. The staff is very polite. There were just a combination of little things that drove my rating down. Service is kind but slow. The green curry was brought beautifully in flames but then we were made to wait almost 10 mins for the side rice and the other dishes to arrive. The fish curry sauce was lovely and fragrant but a lot of greasy bits of fish. We were not offered dessert, we had to request it. Not a huge issue since we were not in a rush but every detail counts. I would give it a 3.5 if I could since it has potential for a 4 but it is not quite there yet.

Such a cute place hidden in the centre of Parnell! The presentation of the dishes are so special, absolutely loved them! My favourite dish was the duck, amazing taste and generous portion size. The flaming coconut was a bit too watery for my liking but not complaining at all, loved the flavour! The squid fritter however was a bit disappointing, it tasted a bit dry and dense. Will probably go back for the duck confit and try some more dishes on the menu. Food 7/10 Service 5/10 Ambience 9/10

Flavour of the food was great~ However the portion was tiny, between the 4 of our girls, we had 2 entree, 1 sashimi, 1 salad, 2 mains. Usually would be enough at other places, but here we were still hungery after that, so end up somewhere else for a supper. The staff was accomodating, and Zomato Gold worked well.

The interior decor is really cool, I personally really liked the feel of it. We got their Salmon Roll, Duck Salad, Beef Cheek and Sous Vide Duck. - Salmon roll (8/10) was refreshing and light, and I almost can’t help but feel that some wasabi was needed to give it a kick. Generous salmon though. - Beef Cheek (8/10) smaller portion than expected but well-cooked tender Beef Cheek chunks in a really smooth and creamy stew. There bread to mop up the sauce was also nice and crispy. - Duck Salad (9/10) this was probably my favourite, it was flavoursome, packed with flavour and I loved the textures and colours going on! The dressing used it sweet and tangy which complemented the duck really well. - Sous Vide Duck (7/10) a bit dry and lacked some flavour. There was some sauce at the bottom that was tangy and sweet and we felt that there should have been more infused into the duck. I also ate what looked like a carrot but was incredibly bitter... Friendly service though! It was also a reasonably price with #zomatogold which set me back by $69. Food: 8/10 Price: 8/10 Ambience: 9/10 Service: 9/10

Saw great photos of the flaming coconut so we had to check it out because it just looked so interesting. Got the poke starter, coconut prawn curry and duck confit. I must say the food definitely looks better than it actually tastes, so I highly rate the presentation of food. Enjoyed the coconut prawn and not so much the other 2. Duck confit was dry but big portion sizes. Food taste rating was probably a 3/5 for me. Can't complain, zomato gold for picturesque food and in a nice ambient restaurant located in parnell.

Such a lovely restaurant! The food was excellent and the portions were very good. My friend and I ordered 2 Big Dishes - Wok Tossed Shaking Beef and the Clay Pot Caramelized Pork Belly - both were amazing! Definitely going to come back!👌🏽🤗

Salmon poke bowl was a bit weird as it looked more like marinated sashimi lacking elements of a poke bowl, the flavours were there but it’s more like an appetiser rather than a salad. The pork belly was nice but it was too salty as a dish and should be accompanied with rice which was not included. The spring rolls weren’t that great and the grilled pork noodles were nice but I expected Banh hoi instead of just loose rice noodles. As a high end Vietnamese food eatery, I prefer rad, and on the lower end, I prefer try it out in otahuhu. Staff were nice and friendly.

Everything is incredible! The first impression is that the environment is well-designed. Clean and good ambience. Staff is very friendly, polite and pays attention to details. Food is delicious. Pho is the best I have tried in Auckland! Prices are affordable. Definitely worth the money I paid. Would come to this place again.

A little Vietnamese fusion restaurant in Parnell villge. Interior decor is super super nice. I felt like I was in Vietnam as soon as I entered the restaurant. Food is more on fusion side than authentic size. Portion is quite small too. Service is pretty quick. Staff are friendly and welcoming.

Woo!! We were so happy that we get to tried this new Vietnamese restaurant tonight. Walked in on a Sunday night , it was packed and we are lucky to be seated, the place has great ambience, deco was very creative and I loved it! Food is really 5/5, the flaming coconut prawn, pork belly and even the vegan papaya salad are all good portion and flavourful. Staff are very nice and ask for feedbacks when we paid. We will definitely bring our family to try more dishes! Love it.

Had the Clay Pot Caramelized pork belly, chicken pho and half duck confit. The portions were really good and using Zomato Gold was great value! Seating was a bit cold as we were near the door but the experience was overall great! Would come back again!

Really in love with their res design, warm and cosy, the food is beautiful, recommend you should try some raw beef salad, lamb starter and definitely some flame fish, prawn curry, the duck salad is also a good one to try,nice balancing and tasty. I cant wait to come back again.

Newly opened. Was expecting Vietnamese fusion dishes, but end up we ordered Currys, fish curry and prawns curry. Both with rich flavour, especially the prawns is coconut creamy sauce, very nice to served with rice. And of course, both flamed! Will definitely try some other Vietnam food next time.
