Nice place. If you lake hot pot or seafood try this place. All seafood is alive right there in aquariums!
Mike Liu
Their seafood hotpot meal is so good. Big portions and tasty. Great value compare to other places too.

the best yam char restaurant in Auckland Old fashion but the food is fantastic ****** That was before Covid 928 Yamchar had been in the same location for decades. After Covid it turned into a seafood lovers paradise, offering fresh cook seafood menus including hotpot and stir-fry. $198 as a base for a rich ingredients seafood combination hotpot. It sounds pretty expensive but it's actually worthy to give it a try Two of us were so full with this basic seafood hotpot, we should get more people to order more .
Michael Wu
New owner, new Management. Live sea food hot pot $168 Good value and enough for 4 people. Super busy weekend and long waiting times. Suggest order in advance.

We were so surprised too come across this amazing fresh seafood restaurant. The lady owner was very helpful and recommended the seafood hot pot that came with fresh seafood and sashimi. My wife and I loved the meal it was tasty, fresh and great value. As a Chef and Artisan Baker I tip my hat to the chef and owner of this place.

Absolutely wonderful service and amazing seafood. Best of the best. Hoping to pop down this evening with family for dinner.

Fantastic seafood, very fresh and reasonably priced! Great spot on Dominion Road!

Buffet hot pot, cook it yourself.very good food selection. Good fun. Staff helpful and friendly. speaks very good English. Explanation of how hotpot works if needed. Payment by weight of food, which I think is very fair. Lots of seafood available. Parking not very convenient at busy times

Fresh seafood. Very tasty. A nice place to have fresh seafood in auckland. Staff and manager are very friendly and helpful. I will say this is the best services I’ve ever had in Chinese restaurants in NZ.
Thitikorn Setthalikhit
Fresh seafood. Tasty hot pot. Reasonable price. Nice for tourists and local.

Excellent Hong Kong cooking. All dishes are tasty and we'll cooked. You never go wrong with the menu. Make sure you book the table.
Michael D'Marris
Always good value, good food, though I have noted there more oily food of late, has seamed to have an oil taint. But still my favourite Yum Char.
Soon Huat
Good food, price OK, near our place, easy parking 🚗🚙🚐
Michael Ong
Good Hong Kong style cooking. Can be crowded. Pays to book.
Tina Ah Chee
Great food, great prices, noisy busy restaurant just like Hong Kong! Lots of interesting dishes. We come here usually once a week!

This is our favourite yum Char and seafood place in town! Thanks to Joseph and Karen for a great and friendly service.

Another good Cantonese restaurant on Dominion road. Came here with a bunch of friends for Chinese New Year dinner and everyone left satisfied. Portion size was good for the price they charge and soup and dessert (Red Bean Soup) were complimentary. Great Cantonese taste and style. Great place for groups so you can order more dishes to share. We order more than Peking duck, but only managed to take this photo.

Ate here a few weeks ago and was pleasantly suprised, the owner greeted us and found us a table. After ordering there was quite a wait for our food although we had ordered quite alot this was the only downside the food was delicious the green beans were my fave, (I'm a sucker for the bean dish) seafood was fresh and portions were huge. Great spot to go with group will definitely be back!

I came in wanting to eat a normal dim sum when my order came up with raw meat. Not knowingly I ate it and then my mother said that it was not cooked I was extremely shook. So the food became worse since I ate here since a months ago. Not only that there is a waitress who works there with her usual frown that I usually ignore and her feisty way of handling plates, by throwing on the table which I would usually ignore, but after the raw meat incident I hoped that they would be apologetic but that was not what I got from her, thus I quickly headed to the counter to pay and as I was going to find a way to swop my debit card she quickly snatched from my hand and I was stunned. I definitely do not recommend going here to eat because although it’s cheap the food has became and the service is the usual bad. Afterwards I had a huge stomach not insulated as ate a huge piece of raw surrounded by partially cooked pork. Unfortunately I was unable to take any photos of the incident.

My family’s go to dine out restaurant. We have been multiple times and have never once been disappointed. We always order roughly the same dishes and we’re always pleased. <br/><br/>Peking duck; (always orders two eats) we have it in the wrap dish and either the peppered duck or the stir fry version. You can’t go wrong with this classic! The portion size is very decent and the skin is cut pretty well. Sometimes it can be variable and thick but the duck is always fresh and delicious. As a wrap, the wrap is always soft, the vegetables and sauce a perfect combination. The peppered duck is delicious as it is well seasoned and great for munching on (this option tends to be served with a lot of bone in). The stir fry is also delicious and is a mix of duck and vegetables. <br/>9.5/10<br/><br/>Next we tend to order two more dishes; a meat and a vegetable based. For meat I recommend the sizzling plates, and also the pork ribs. The meats are always served very tenderly and juicy. Well sauced, never too salty and filling. For vegetables, I recommend any eggplant or green bean stir fry. They are also deliciously seasoned and cooked very well. Portion sizes are very decent too. <br/>9.5/10<br/><br/>I think it’s also complementary that they serve a soup and a dessert at the beginning and end of the meal which I do enjoy. The soup is a lovely appetizer, normally a bone broth with some occasional carrot and the dessert which tends to be a red bean soup is something sweet to end the night. <br/>8/10<br/><br/>I’ve also come here for yumcha, and ordered the classics; chicken feet, pork spare ribs, salty egg yolk bun, beef ribs...and they all lived up to expectation and taste. Compared to other yumcha places, the taste is more or less the same but for the price it is very good as other places tend to charge more. Their pricing is relatively fair and since every time I visit it is a pleasant experience, I always enjoy going. <br/><br/>The owners are also very friendly, most of the staff are very lovely too, and their service is good. We went their once for my birthday and they surprised me with a mini cake! Not too sure if they made it, but they did serve it out so I have the photo attached. The male owner also sang happy birthday to me which was an absolute delight!<br/><br/>Edit: 6/2/19 Excellent food quality during today’s yumcha hours! Only down side was that the service was extremely slow due to public holiday and they were super busy, but also due to the seating which we were away from the kitchen so the last tables to receive any food options. By the time they came around they had run out! Nevertheless, excellent taste and freshness in all the dishes served, too bad I did not want to wait around for more of the classics, literally took way too long imo. Best quality ever today though, super impressed with the food!

This is a great place to eat for both lunch and dinner. I go here almost everyday and I never get tired of it.<br/>Food:5/5<br/>Service:5/5<br/>Overall rating:10/10

Had yum cha with a group of friends. Food was average but price is admittedly cheaper than many others in town. Service from some staff was quite rude and they weren’t even busy. Decor is very tired, more so than most Chinese restaurants.
Nathalie
First time dining here and we had their Yum Char the place was quiet and the staff were lovely and helpful. The serving of yum char took a while to go around and there wasn’t much selection (perhaps because it was a weekday) however we can’t complain as we got 10% discount!! They offer 10% discount on weekdays. The dishes were all average but very good value for money! For two people we spent $30 it came down to $5 per dishes which was a bargain! Will definitely be back!
Jo Ch
We went here for yum cha as i’ve been craving for it for a long time. I gave this a shot because of some good reviews but unfortunately we weren’t very pleased with the food. The service was great though. The restaurant was packed. <br/>I wouldn’t say i’d come back :(<br/><br/>Food: 6/10<br/>Service: 9/10<br/>Ambience: 7/10<br/>Price: 8/10

This place is legit. <br/>Came here for friends after after wedding dinner (yes after after). <br/>I didn’t take enough photos because there were too many people around and I didn’t want to make everyone wait while I took pics :s<br/><br/>The crayfish was fresh and deeeeelicious. Pauas were flavourful and fresh also. The list goes on!<br/><br/>Food 5/5<br/>Service: not sure because it was a set menu<br/>Accessibility 4/5

Best vegetarian chinese restaurant. This place has both meat and vegetarian options. To me, it tastes just as good as real meat. One of my favourites are the taro fish as its outer layer is crispy and the taro inside remains sweet. The sauce is also delicious. The deep fried potato basket is another dish that is worth ordering.

Where have we been!!! Tried HKD for the first time today and was impressed with the flavour. We ordered quite a few dishes. Highlight to us will be their steam pork ribs, i think could have been one of the best in Auckland. Their pork bun was also delicious. Yes their dumpling skin probably can be improved, but oh well when the filling were plump and juicy we were quite happy to eat them. <br/><br/>We definitely be back again to try other dishes!! We were arrived around 1230pm, restaurant was very busy, but we got the shared table almost straight away which was great. Next time we will definitely book or come early! <br/><br/>Space might be a bit squish but really feel like true Yumcha place in HK. Price was very affordable too, oh yum! Thank you HKD.

Been there once for a Dim Sum lunch, funny thing was no menu and no price tag, you need to guess how much could cost you, and left message on Facebook, refuse to offer menu, secret?

When for lunch ...they served delicious and tasty piping hot yum char..there are few selections to choose from. Bonus..weekdays there's a 10% off.

This is a hidden gem that was recommended by a family member. This restaurant doesn't look like much on the outside & some of the deco inside is slightly dated. But the food makes up for it. I've only ever been here for yum cha, so don't know how their dinner is like. Their food is divine; we had our usual yum cha dishes like siu mai, prawn dumplings, fried squid, bbq pork bun, pork spare ribs, to name a few & were definitely not disappointed by their tastiness. Some of their staff are not that good in English but there is always another staff member who is ready to help explain if needs be. Price-wise, this has got to be one of the cheaper yum cha that I've been to. We travel from Half Moon Bay a few times now to this restaurant & have never left hungry or disappointed.
Mary
Disgusting, Andy food and service. Food low quality, delayed 7 dishes and rude. Kicking us out rushing us eating when their preparation is bad. Never again.
Ming
These guys deserve more love for their yum cha. It's smaller than most places but that's what makes it work. The servers come around more frequently and the food is always piping hot. They also have some unique items you don't see often at other places. Well worth a try.
Carolyn Koloni
Absolutely love this restaurant. Fabulous food great prices excellent Yum Cha. Bi Lingual attentive staff. Decor needs updating but apart from that Wonderful.

Arrived here at about 11.30am on a Sat for YumCha.<br/>There weren't many people there and were lucky to snatch a table for the 3 of us.<br/><br/>Food: Your typical yum cha dishes. All the dishes we were tasty and fresh. We were seated right next to where the food came from, so we were lucky to have first choice. <br/><br/>Cost: Very decently priced. Our total bill came to about $44, considering we did get alot of yum cha dishes for the 3 of us.<br/><br/>Service: Though the staff were all Chinese, communcation barrier wasnt a problem. Each of them were lovely and attentive.<br/><br/>Ambience: Sat under the cool air conditioning and was just what we needed. Nice atmosphere as families were busy either eating or chatting away amongst themselves. However, by 12.30pm, the tables were fully taken.

If you are looking for good quality Chinese food, this is always a good place to go. I come here quite often, in the afternoons they do yum cha and during dinner it's a seafood restaurant. The staff were friendly and kind. The food was yummy and flavoursome. It comes in large portions, a little on the pricer side. However it is worth it. Would defiantly go again.
CrazyCatLady_EmmaC
Food is quite tasty and big portions. The place really need some renovation, everything is quite old and not well maintained. Some staff was not very friendly. We went there because we were close by, not sure if we will go there again.

Great seafood. The food is always good here. <br/><br/>If you are here to eat cheap chinese food then it’s not for you. This is where you come and order crayfish. <br/><br/>Half the time I order crayfish it’s always here. Last time I dined was at a wedding and was an awesome function. <br/><br/>Love it! Come here when you get your big paycheck. <br/><br/>Service: 4/5<br/>Food Quality: 5/5<br/>Food Quantity: 5/5<br/>Environment: 3/5<br/>Price: $100+pp<br/>

Awesome dim sum and efficiently service. Still really busy on Tuesday lunch time. Would like to recommend and will come back some day. :) :)

very poor service - nobody speaks english! this restaurant is solely for chinese speaking people! you starve to dearh before the feed you! staff quite rude and inconsiderate. even uou look for the manager no point as the same thing- does not speak english ! could be one of the nightmare!

Food is amazing here, with great service. Dinner here was just exquisite and perfect. Yum cha lunch was delicious and reasonably priced. Next time, I would like to sit further in the restaurant, not right by the door. All the yummy food was taken by other people before it arrives on our table!

Cheap and yummy! I like all the dumpling, spring roll. We ordered heaps of dim sum, only costs 30 bucks per person! 皮蛋酥太难吃啦!甜得很奇怪~但是酥皮好好吃~主要性价比好高, 两个人放开吃,使劲点才花了60…下次还会再来的~

I'm actually really disappointed. Was excited to try this place after seeing reviews and enjoying the dishes at Lucky Fortune (Three Kings), Imperial Palace (Mt Wellington) and Enjoy Inn (Great South Rd) which are all really tasty. Unfortunately almost every dish let us down. The steamed prawns dumplings were huge but dumpling skin so sticky and unsatisfying. The rice rolls also had the wrong texture, floury and brittle with a strong raw rice flavour. We ordered one of the "other" more expensive dishes, deep fried tofu which was decent, super soft egg tofu inside and crispy outside (ask for sauce). We ordered the stewed tendon which was harder than other restaurants and the flavour hadn't gone all the way through. Finally we ordered beef short rib which I liked and had yummy texture but didn't save the meal. We left with disappointed stomachs. Was cheap though.
ShoRt
Easily missed as you can't really tell it's a restaurant! <br/>Tried out the yum cha and was pleasantly surprised. Instead of trolleys, you get waitresses carrying food around. Food is hot and fresh and the siu mai, chicken feet and ribs were yummy! The steamed dumplings had a very sticky skin though. Still taste good. Ha! <br/><br/>Felt authentic and just an understated homey restaurant. It looks a bit run down but overall, cheap and not bad!

Yumcha here is always so noms and in my belly good. I'd definitely recommend this if you want proper hk soul food. Legit hk experience with the hustle and bustle. I'm a loyal customer of this restaurant and we've been going here since I was little.
MegWantsVeg
I really don't like giving places bad reviews, but I feel I need to put in my experience here. We ordered Taro 'fish' and we received not taro fish but tofu seaweed fish, which I don't mind at all but it isn't Taro. Later found out that taro fish need to be preordered (does not say on the menu nor did they say anything when we ordered it). So they recommended us to get taro basket with veg which doesn't need preordering, we did that. When we paid we were charged $48 for the taro basket. The menu clearly says $35 for the taro basket w prawn, chicken, veg so I don't understand the logic behind charging more for less? I also ordered the homemade tofu from seeing it on another review's photo, but what we got was not as great looking as the photo, pieces were quite small for the price. I had great hopes for this place, but I don't think we'll be in a hurry to go back. I was so ready to love this place, I love that it has a dedicated vegetarian menu, I'm heartbroken to be honest. I didn't even take any photos 😢

We ordered some takeaway Food after arriving and were told, it will be 15 mins. After waiting for more than 20 mins the food arrived but there was some mix up. So we had to wait 2-3 more mins. The food itself wasn't really bad. It was quite good. The sweet and sour chicken was the best one. Staff service could be better though. We weren't acknowledged when we entered. The atmosphere and the customers were all Chinese. I felt like an outsider waiting there for the food to be ready. The Food Price on their website (http://hkd.nz) is not updated.

Birthday girl and I were dying for Yum Cha we were recommended to come here. Who would ever think this restaurant served yum cha! The Yum cha food was delicious and sucelant. We got our ordinary yum cha food we liked, and we also went out of our comfort zone and settled for pork tenders...very interesting, soft chewy texture with a nice flavour. What made our experience enjoyable was the service! All the ladies were warm and welcoming, explained the food that we had no knowledge of. Even better they weren't forceful! They accepted our no without pressuring us or grunting. The boss lady was very friendly. The cheapest yum cha I have been to. We will be back! 😊
S&G Take Auckland
Great little place for yum cha. We went on a Tuesday afternoon and it was completely packed ! <br/><br/>The chicken chow mein and beef chow mein are the best I've had in Auckland nay ever. <br/>Super crispy noodles, tasty gravy and nice veges. Not a fan of the beef and chicken in the noodles, but they do give the meal a lovely flavour.<br/>Good portion size for $12.<br/><br/>Their prawn and spinich and prawn and coriander dumplings have a great taste, however the wrapping was overly sticky. I was concerned for my stomach

My family are regulars here, we started coming here for YumCha and then tried their dinner menu too. <br/>Mondays to Fridays they give 15% discounts to dine-in! And portions are very good! <br/>Our family favourite would be the Shrimp Yolk Balls, which are gigantic and come in a plate of around 15-20 of them! If you ask for mayonnaise, it's a match made in heaven. <br/>Their crispy taro duck is also one of our favourites, it's fried and crispy on the outside and soft taro inside with a layer of duck at the bottom!
I_like_pickles
Had YumCha here with family. Have been here a few times and I finally get to review it lol.<br/><br/>DimSum options were plentiful. The waitresses were regular with the trays of DimSum. They were friendly and didn't force you to take the DimSum even if you didn't want it like some other places hahaha.<br/><br/>Top Picks:<br/>The Phoenix claws were very tasty<br/>The deep fried stuff like the savoury puffs aka salty water horns(literal translation) and the taro horns. The sesame balls were nice. Beef meat balls with Worcestershire sauce was tasty.<br/><br/>Low picks would be the rice rolls. The rolls just weren't made nicely and the texture just wasn't right. The turnip cake was doughy and floury.

Food was good, shumai was yummy. However, customer service was ridiculous. Worst experience we have ever encountered. An older lady seated us down with a frown on her face when we told her we don't speak Mandarin or Cantonese. We waited 10 mins and there was no service whatsoever, no menu offered, no food going around. I guess we were there towards the end of the lunch hours, but we would have just left if we were told. We couldn't order as we can only speak English, no menu was offered and the staffs were busy standing in the corner talking among themselves. Finally one of the staff came, carrying the shumai and ribs so we ordered both of them, or else we would have left with empty stomach. We asked for the menu, however it was the set menu, not the dimsums. Waited for another 10 mins for service and food with no luck, we were just so frustrated and decided to leave to eat somewhere else. It took them another 5 mins to notice us at the till wanting to pay for what we had. The same lady took our payment with no thank you, no good bye whatsoever, told us to pay $10( in Cantonese again) . This place is not English- speaker friendly
Lia Yosaatmadja
A pretty decent place for yum char. The food is good and the service is pretty friendly. <br/>And I thought the price are pretty reasonable too. <br/><br/>Went there for lunch today. We were there towards the end of the lunch hours which means the food doesn't rotate as frequently. We end up ordering the dishes we want and they were great! I love their pork shumai! They were plump, meaty and juicy! <br/>
Vincent Koh
good cantonese dishes with free soup of the day (which I feel is a good touch being Cantonese ). friendly staff too......the Yong Choy fried rice is very yummy and not oily.....fried chicken was a bit fry but I recommend the tofu dish (pan friend with a sauce)....
Eugene
Been going here for years (almost a decade) with family. Food is pretty good and reasonably priced. Interior is not bad, nothing fancy but clean and tidy. My main beef with this place is their service. I swear their older female staff are always rude, gruff, no smiles, and impatient to us. The service you'd expect from a dodgy Asian restaurant. However, last few times I was there they had this new old dude who was the exact opposite, he was so nice to the point where it felt like he genuinely cared. He even walked us out when we were done. <br/>
Frank Lin
The food here is decent and staff friendly and nice. <br/><br/>However, the restaurant does get a bit cramped and a bit noisy.<br/><br/>Toilets also need some work on. It is fairly basic and sometimes dirty.
Eat Nom Bliss
Great Chinese restaurant with consistent quality, portions and taste. It is a typical Chinese restaurant but people come here for the food and it shows. This place has been here for years now and won't be going anywhere.<br/><br/>I recommend the prawn balls and the prawn noodles - DELICIOUS!
Chloe
Turned up on a busy night without a booking, they still managed to find us a table straight away. Very friendly, welcoming staff. Ordered from one of the set menus which had great variety. Good food, fresh and flavoursome, the portion sizes were awesome! Very generous. Deffinatly plenty of great food for your buck!

Have not been back to this place for quite sometime.  A couple of days ago had dinner at this place.  Notice the personnel have been changed, from the boss downwards.  Not too sure about the cook.  Anyway took the risk and see how it goes.  I ordered a few simple dishes (see photos).  Well, the dishes were of good portion, the taste was good and the servce was better.  But still not sure whether the cook was the same.  And the prices were reasonable. This place will be one added to my dinner list.
Linny
Sandwiched in a block of shops, I have never noticed this place before and wouldn't know it existed if I didn't get asked to meet someone there for yum char. Parking is great on the road and behind the shops as well. Price is affordable. One of the cheapest that I have seen around town. I was so surprised for 5 of us we spent half of what we would in any other yum char place. the food also didn't disappoint. We found all the main options and some others that we hadn't seen anywhere else. The only downside was that we found a Brillo steel piece in our dumpling but they promptly apologised and replaced it with something else for us. We haven't had a chance to come back with it being out of the way but I can see why people pack this place for lunch.
Taemoata Fong
Best yum cha in town. Great value and portions are massive. Will come back for sure!!! Great service with a smile and great thing is you can order what you want for yum cha and they bring it out

A great seafood restaurant in true Cantonese style. Busy, noisy and not so much romantic atmosphere, but GREAT food!<br/> I've been for Yum cha which I found average, but the dinner is great!  6 of us ate like kings, all the best dishes and it came to $180! BYO too!<br/>We had Sharks fin soup with crab, taro with seafood, casserole of tofu and seafood, peking duck with 2 courses, yeung chow fried rice and combination noodles, that one wasn't so good, theyd run out of ho fun and egg noddles so we got abit of  mixture of different noodles.<br/><br/>Note added in later months:<br/>We have visited now many times over the last year and always find every dish is fantastic in clear clean flavours, ample servings and very good value. Highly Recommended !<br/><br/>Recommend this place as a cheap and great food place. I know, I'm Chinese.
William Whelan
My fav yum cha. Friendly an efficient staff. Great food. Always full by the time we go to pay. Always a nice surprise when you are told the bill amount and it is very very reasonable. About half the price of others, but just as nice.

Merry Christmas everybody! It's safe to have your Xmas eve dinner in a Chinese restaurant haha, cuz you will definitely get a table! <br/>HKD got busy tonight as well, but we were lucky enough to be seated right away we got in! Cool! <br/>You can't really have authentic Cantonese food in NZ, but HKD did quite a good job, food was fine, not too greasy/oily, and the most important thing is....the reasonable price! <br/>Attention! Big portion! Don't order too many dishes!
Jenna Tan
I dined in this restaurant this morning together with my husband and my friend who just arrived from overseas and we were really disappointed of how the staff treated us. I chose this restaurant because it is the closest restaurant from One tree hill and I want my friend to try the traditional yumcha of the Chinese. When we got there, I told the staff that we didn't book a table and so she gave us a table but we were told to dine for just one hour. It was fine for us since we didn't book anyway and 1 hour is enough for lunch. The service is okay but the food are not really good.<br/>I have been to another yumcha restaurants before so I can really compare the quality of the food. I don't really mind the food that much but what annoyed me was, after we finished our meal (it's only 30 mins since we arrived) one of the waitresses told us "there's no food in your table, you can go now!". I answered her, "you told us that we can stay for 1 hour but it's only 30 mins." And she said, but there are many people waiting outside and she started to remove our plates and table cloth. I was so upset and embarrassed to my friend. The staff were horrible and always look grumpy. Since we arrived, we didn't even see them smiling and when they served the meal it's like they don't like us to be there. In my entire life this is the first time I treated so bad in a restaurant. I told myself I will never ever come to this restaurant again. I don't know why it's so popular to the locals. They are many chinese restaurants there which serve good food and have friendly, accommodating staff.

Dec 2018 Most recent experience has been disappointing. Serving size is much smaller, food itself had gone down in quality (eg taro basket not crispy) and staff are terribly rude. May or may not decide to return in the new year.<br/><br/>---------------<br/>Previous review:<br/>Have since become a regular here despite having a poor first impression and a few less-than-average experiences.<br/><br/>Food is excellent on some of the Chinese dishes at dinner time and is best for large family groups as servings are generous. The tofu with barley and prawn balls are great. I wouldn't recommend the Peking duck or going for yum char as food selection is average and service is way too slow as it gets too busy. Dinner on a Friday can be busy too. Complimentary soup and dessert with dinner is great as is the 15% discount on the weekdays which makes it excellent value. Make sure you check when you pay as some waitresses won't bother with it. Service is pretty bad from the other waitresses if you don't get the manager Karen.<br/><br/>Venue is ok, toilets are not the most pleasant.
Joanne Wong
Food is delicious!<br/>They provide authentic Chinese dishes such as Peking duck, special fried tofu, roast barbeque pork, seafood that is steamed in traditional Chinese style and also lots of different yum char (similar to tapas) food. <br/>They also give out complementary house soups before the meal and Asian dessert after the meal.<br/>Most importantly, dishes aren't too pricey either. I would highly recommend this place.
Steve
EXCELLENT restaurant. Wonderful, friendly staff. Food was fantastic too …
Nom Nom Panda
Typical Cantonese restaurant - atmosphere nothing to write home about, but food with comforting, authentic flavours. Yum cha available at lunch time; dinner is a la carte and you get free soup before and dessert (generally sweet soup) after.<br/><br/>The Peking duck we had recently was sliced very thin, so there was hardly any meat with the crispy skin. We liked that it was served with plenty of carrot, cucumber and leek sticks, but the steamed pancakes for wrapping them looked somewhat strange. Also very thin, these flour rounds stuck together quite a bit, and had a pockmarked surface (tasted fine though).<br/><br/>The taro basket is a family favourite, with a ring of crispy fried taro encasing chicken, prawns and vegetable pieces.<br/><br/>We enjoyed plenty of other dishes too, but won't name them all here. Good value, tasty food, meets expectations.
MissEstherZ
I go to this place a lot for dinner and a lot of Chinese families like going here as the taste is very Cantonese and unoffensive but still tasty to Chinese people. It is very useful if you someone can read chinese, because in the weekday they have specials on dishes, like Peking duck.<br/><br/>The food is tasty and hot! I don't think there are much dishes that are acquired tastes, all of them can be eaten by all. Pricing is pretty good! And they give you free soup and dessert so I like that haha.<br/><br/>It can get very loud and can be slow if there are a lot of people. Also yum cha can also be very slow since they wheel to individual tables and everyone is demanding food. For yum cha you can ask the waitresses for a particular one and they will tell the kitchen and it will be delivered to you if you are waiting on a particular one. <br/><br/>Good place for groups that know how to share, none of that individual dishes! Also not very good for two or three people for dinner because of the sharing dishes thing. Yum cha/lunch is great for two or small groups as prices range from $3-$8 a dish :)

Food is okay, its a 50/50 chance whether you'll love or think the food is avg every time you go in. It's always super busy for yumcha but there's somewhat no point booking a table as whether you're there on time or not, you'll have to wait till someone leaves. Your other option is, if you're keen to do it Hong Kong styles, to share a table with random people. <br/><br/>Food is super cheap, especially if you're splitting with friends as our total was under $15/pp (we split between 2~3 people normally)<br/><br/>My advice, is to order a bunch of dishes in advance so you don't have to wait for the ladies to come around with dishes (you most likely won't get your dishes at the same time but it saves the hassle of finding staff). <br/><br/>I ate more than the photos added but we were all too hungry and I couldn't be bothered taking pics. <br/><br/>Note: try the chilli oil with your dishes, i promise you'll love it (especially with rice).

Food is great, not too oily and servings are just right. Service is ok except when owner is not present. Other chinese <br/>Lady at the counter is rude. Apart from that great place.
