Review Bangkok The Art Of Handmade Rolled Ice Cream Plus - Auckland Central

Great spot on k rd, brought the kid to experience fresh made ice cream. Purely theatrical entertainment with a yummy outcome. It's very pricey, especially if adding on extras. Save this place for a treat.

We had a fantastic experience. The woman who served us was super friendly and patient with all our questions and curiosities about the process and the choices. She was an artist with the food! My wife got a cone in which case the ice cream gets mixed and placed in the form of a single roll and I got the bubble waffle with multiple smaller rolls of ice cream. I also had bananas and toppings and it was amazing. The waffle flavor is so good and the bubbles add a fun crispy yet chewy texture to the bites. Delicious.

A nice place. I was looking to try bubble tea for the first time and wasn't disappointed, although the normal sugar amount was a bit too sweet for me you can get it with less sugar which is great. I will definitely come here again.

Have seen this a lot when I'm looking for desert places in the city so decided to give it a try. Wasn't disappointed. Opted for the Ice Cream Burger. Really good, though I definitely want to return to try some of their other offerings.

Real fruit flavoured ice creams you should try.

Best ice cream I’ve ever had!! I got the dairy free banana almond flavour and it was delicious! Mum got the brown sugar one and said it was “scrumdiddlyumptious!”

If you're around Kroad in Auckland you must try this ice-cream prepared on a cold rock and with an interesting rolling shape. Very yummy and not expensive at all. Many flavors available. Nice staff. Recommended!

Amazing ice creams... lovely customer service. Their large ice creams can get quite filling so think before iredering large portions. I loved their Mango ice cream...'You should surely try it out' is my recommendation ...

I have tried their pistachio Flavour and i liked it, the only thing i thought it could have been more better if they add little bit more pistachios in it because i couldn't feel that much flavour of pistachio but overall it tasted good.

Omg!!! The best rolled ice cream and bubbly tea.. my husband I went out there and the guy was amazing ❤❤❤ I would give this place a 10000000000000/100 if I could , don't take my word for it though, go try yhen yourself.

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!! I'm not really fond of ice cream and went to treat me partner since she loves it but I ended up falling in love with it. It's honestly the best rolled ice cream ever and best of all it's made from fresh ingredients. We got the brownie mix that had goofy brownie. I'm not sure most of you know but it's one of the best baking company's in NZ. Our mix also had Mars, snickers, crunchie and oreo. Trust me it's definitely a go to place and the entire experience is unique as well as you can watch your ice cream being made Definitely coming back here again!!!

They have a range of different flavours to pick from and they turn it into ice cream. You can see them make it in front of your eyes as they mix the flavour into the ice cream. Instead of scooping, they roll the ice cream. I tried the ice cream burger since it was something different. It wasn't the worse that I've had but because they heated the bun with the ice cream inside it already it was melting once I started so it got really messy. Quite liked the custard bun they used as bread though. Something different from the other ice cream places.

yummy natural taste of fruit ice-cream, interesting to see how they make them 😋

It was fun to watch ig. Ice cream was pretty good. I got some coconut almond flavor. The guy took a little longer than i would hope though and the area didn't give me a good vibe at the time of day

🔥🔥🔥 All I can say is WOW! 👌🏻 I can highly recommend Bankok Rolled Ice Cream. If you are looking for a great treat, then treat yourself to this. They have over 32 flavors and I'll be back for more. Don't just look at the rolled ice cream videos in your SM feed... Go out and experience it. 👀 Fasts and friendly service combined with a quality product. What more can you ask for! 🤛🏻 This also makes for a great experience for the family.

Fantastic. What an awesome way to serve icecream. Dinner and a show!

Loved the Pina Colada the most but looking forward to trying all the other flavours

We were very excited to try the food here, however we were really disappointed. Service was not helpful and very un-friendly. Most importantly all food was handled with BARE hands and no washing in between. The man making the food was touching everything around him then putting his bare hands on the food, which was really concerning considering everything going on with covid 19. I got a small ice cream and crepe which cost over $18 and took over 25 minutes to make, with no other customers and no apology for the delay. Hate to be so negative as they may have been having a bad day, but definitely things that need to be improved. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Felt very sick after eating. 😢

Got the chocolate banana crepe with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Crepe texture was rather tough and dry, almost impossible to cut through with plastic cutlery. The ice cream was slightly icy, gave me the impression it was an old batch. Overall I would not recommend this place for their crepes. Also more of a stall, had 4 stools at the front but no other seating

so tasty wafffle and thick shake

A really interesting style of ice cream that’s fascinating to watch. They have lots of different flavours and the ice cream is pretty good. However, I have been twice and once they forgot my friend’s order and the second time gave me something I didn’t ask for. The staff are okay, not overly friendly. Another thing to note is that they don’t clean the pans the ice creams are made on between orders and sometimes combine two orders on the same pan, which may prove to be problematic for people with food allergies or dietary requirements. There is also no seating area, it’s more like a food stall rather than a dessert parlour or shop. I would love to give the place more stars because I do enjoy the dessert, but unfortunately many things let it down.

took them about twenty minutes to make a frappe!! and there was one other person and two people were working!! will never be coming back here again

Been here for the first time. Tried the Dark chocolate rolled icecream in cup and hazelnut rolled icecream in cone. I would say not the very perfect ones but not bad as well. They have got crepes n bubble teas as well. Need to try them next time

Wanted to try this place for long time after having it overseas .<br/>Big disappointment!!!! You can tell owner is less than excited when making your order ice cream almost as if he was forced to .<br/>Rolls looked thick and messy would have better to buy a scoop of ice cream from anywhere else .<br/>Simply disappointing would never go back !
FoodiesTable
Waited a very long time for just one ice cream. The texture of the rolled ice cream isn’t quite right and we order coffee flavor it tasted like vanilla
LilianMonaghan
Always come here for ice cream but this time wanted to give their bubble waffle a try. Tasted okay though but we waited for more than twenty mins to get our waffle done...their counter was a bit messy with cream, milk and batter all over the waffle machine area. <br/>Would go for ice cream again but definitely not waffle cos tons of waffle places in cities are better in terms of taste and serving speed.

New Zealand is quite a remote country comparing to others our nearest neighbour is Australia and they are also far from any other countries. Having that geological restriction most of the world fads comes in to our country quite late. That is why food craze like this the cronuts, freak shakes , kale and quinoa are tried by Kiwis after several months before it become popular.

Stopped by while walking past. Got a milkshake and a rolled ice cream special that had oreo and crunchie bits. Quite a novelty watching it being made, probably the biggest drawing card. Enjoyed the ice cream but wish I got the waffles. Maybe next time.

Came here for valentine dessert after a very full dinner. It was only one girl at the booth and I was the 5th customer so I felt she might be overwhelmed by the orders. Then when I saw the menu it’s freaking confusing with quite small letters so I ended up asking a lot of question and the girl might be get annoyed by me and also she didn’t speak English very well either so at the end we got our order not exactly how we want it be. The portion is just enough for one person and I felt the toppings quite stingy but the taste of the ice cream is just ok. Not really worth it for 9.5 nzd.

This is a pretty cool, funky and unique place to go to if you’re looking for a refreshing dessert. We ordered a mango and lychee vegan ice cream, mango vegan ice cream and a normal melon pineapple ice cream. They were all bursting with flavour, cooling and delicious. However slightly overpriced as we paid $10.50 for our mango lychee one.

If you’re in K’road and want ice cream with a twist then this is the place to go. The flavour combination is quite unique with the choice to add your toppings. Their recommended flavours are definitely one to try. Had the oreo and mango flavoured ones and they were delicious, perfect for a hot summery day. Be warned though they can be quite filling and are quite large. The best part is watching them being made while you wait.

Love the ice cream at this place! The Orea flavour is especially nice, the owner is cool and agreed to my weird request of putting boba pearls on the ice cream! <br/><br/>Dessert- 9/10<br/>Service- 9/10<br/>Aesthetics-8.5/10

This place serves amazing Thai rolled ice cream, a must try. There are a wide range of delicious favours to try, and interesting toppings.<br/><br/>Beware a long wait. Each ice cream takes a while to make, and lines can form. Limited seating as well, but the ice cream goes well with a walk on a sunny day.

Came here with my partner after dinner, was surprised to see a Thai rolled ice cream store newly opened so I had to try it. Been wanting to try Thai rolled ice cream for the longest time, so it was a first impression for me! We chose the Oreo rolled ice cream with chocolate sauce and waffle bits on top. Flavours were super yum however didn’t taste as creamy as I was hoping. Maybe it was the milk they used or maybe it was just how it was supposed to taste. Really cool concept of how many flavours you can choose, think you can also get drinks and crepes. Great to come here if you are with your partner or friends after dinner!

Very delicious!! 😋If you love ice cream, this is a must try! I definitely recommend this. The ice cream is full of flavour, and not too sweet! Cravings satisfied! Best rolled ice cream place I’ve tried so far! 😋
Adarsh Chaturvedee
I admit I was initially skeptical of the store but the Oreo ice cream crepe changed my mind. I wish I had bought a bigger one. The ice cream rolls were made right in front of me and the Oreo just pushed it to another level. It was a dessert worth every penny.

I cannot say enough good things about this place! Loved the concept of Thailand rolled ice cream, loved that you could pick your own flavours, and loved that you could watch the process of then making it! It was super fun!!<br/><br/>You could mix and match flavours. We did a snickers with cinnamon and spice, and it was completely divine. Definitely one of the best ice cream I’ve had - creamy and flavorful, with lots of chunky bits! The serving size was also quite decent. We shared a large one, and that was more than enough for two people. <br/><br/>The guy making the ice cream was also super friendly and chatted with us. It was an amazing experience overall, and we can’t wait to return :)
Charlotte H.
Huge variety of flavors and the ice cream itself was delicious, super creamy and rich, it was pretty cool watching the guy make it! Big downs on hygiene though, there were no containers left so we were given a flimsy cardboard plate, it's in an awkward spot in the city and the wait was quiet long considering we were the only ones there. Cool experience but not again any time soon.

As there is only one guy manning the store, there was a little bit of a wait as three other girls had just placed their orders before ours (oreo rolled ice cream). A satisfying process to watch all the ingredients being combined right in front of our eyes to make the ice cream.<br/>The disappointment came at my very first spoonful, as I had noticed a hair in it. I turned to look at the man working behind the counter and noticed that he was bald. That got me questioning where on earth that strand of hair came from...<br/>As for the ice cream itself, it had a very lovely flavour and texture although the choice of toppings available weren't very appealing and were probably not very fresh from being in the sun all day.

What an amazing experience i have tried the mango luchees was so delicious real lychees and real mango for $ 4.5 its really worth each cent and they put topping and sauces for free they also have different sizes so i got for my kid strawberry for just 3.5$ cheap as chips the strawberry was real strawberry and the taste is amazimng my son loved it the shop was pretty busy and i had waited for 15 minutes but was worth it , i actually enjoyed watching other customers icecream and see how they do it from scratch i strongly recommend this place for every one want have unique experience and taste fresh fruits icecream cheap cool and delicious<br/>Well done guys<br/>Keep up the good work<br/>

I'm a bit torn on how to rate this place since I wouldn't recommend it to anyone for a few reasons, but the cold-stone creamery style ice cream itself was really delicious. We approached and it was already busy with a few people ordering and waiting. The one person behind the little counter amassed a lot of orders before she started on any so it already felt really slow. I ordered the "chocolate cake" ice cream in kids size for $3.50 and opted to add "creme brulee" for $0.50 when that was offered. My friend ordered a chocolate banana crepe with a scoop of icecream on the side. It was seriously slow - this is ok, but some forewarning that we were waiting for multiple other orders first wouldn't have gone amiss. My ice cream finally arrived, probably 20 min later and surprisingly was only one roll (this seems pretty skimpy to me since it's a lot less than a scoop) but it also came with a toothpaste-esque squeeze of creme brulee (with the texture of playdough, ended up leaving this because it was pretty gross) and my choice of one sauce (meagre drizzle on top) and topping (I chose rainbow popcorn and got 2 kernels......). The chocolate cake flavour was definitely really delicious - cake crumbs mashed together on the cold-plate with sweet cream, it came out very soft. My 2 pieces of popcorn were stale and old (I regretted my choice as soon as I saw how they were stuck inside the container). Basically the only good bit was the ice cream, and it was little. My friend's crepe was a (way more of a) huge disappointment. I don't think anyone has trained these guys to make crepes, as they are actually producing little doughy disks in the centre of the crepe hot plate. fillings were reasonable and ice cream on the side was really nice too. Also it took about 25 minutes to get the crepe and the hot plate wasn't heated up in advance which was strange as it could have just been the flick of a switch?Overall, a disappointing and very slow experience. I don't think the ice cream being in rolls gave me anything extra and I'd rather have a more decent portion than such a long wait. Please guys, spend more time learning how to use a crepe hot plate and you'll have infinitely better results. Also generosity of portion and toppings could definitely be improved - felt super stingy.

There's 31 flavors for ice cream roll here and from menu can see still increasing. The staffs are very kindly and the making time for ice cream is quick. We mixed the watermelon with caramel banana, which tasted quite nice. What's more, he added a banana entirely .in the ice cream!

Thanks for the Yummy Dessert.<br/><br/>So many Vegan Options which I liked. We opted for Coconut Milk.<br/><br/> I had the Fresh Banana mixed with Caramel topped with Ground Oreo Cookies and Caramel Sauce. It legit was the best ice cream Ive tasted so in Auckland. Mainly coz I love fruit. <br/><br/>My partner had the Green Tea with Shredded Coconut.<br/><br/>He didnt like his but I loved mine.<br/><br/>Service was pretty good as they were quick and efficient. <br/><br/>Thanks for the yummy sweets team.

This place isn't hard to miss on KRd. The service was quick and it's great they have recommendations. My white chocolate had a tangy taste to it almost like a citrus infusion. My cousin picked the cookies and cream. Her one was a better choice.

Looking for a good rolled ice cream in the city and thought we would try this place. Service and ambience is standard. I went for coconut oreo with coconut and chocolate while the mrs had green tea with chocolate and chocolate, we both had waffle cones. <br/><br/>The waffle cones are a big mistake, they're not rolled to seal off the bottom so the ice cream was melting straight down the hole, I quickly scoffed mine and the mrs just ate the ice cream on the top and gave me the rest as it was just getting messier and messier.<br/><br/>The ice cream itself didn't help since it's just frozen thinned out cream with your choice of flavouring, it doesn't really have the structure of ice cream and it just tasted like that. It's not really bad but it's not the best ice cream out there. <br/><br/>Ambience and service is standard but I'd say watching the ice cream being made is the best part of all.
Sunema Tuifao
Great little place to take the kids, who enjoyed watching there ice creams get made. A bit of a wait but that can't be helped, staff were lovely and flavors were nice. Will definitely go back with the kids for more.

Ahhh... Karangahape Road, what a happening place to be! I just love all the good vibes and unique people this part of the city has to offer and what's not to love especially when there is Hand Rolled Ice Cream being made right in front of your very eyes!! It was about 8pm on a Friday night when something caught the attention of myself and a very attractive German girl with which I was enjoying a very fun and colourful walk down the very famous stretch of asphalt known as K'road. ( we were obviously walking on the footpath as the road is primarily dominated by vehicles ).<br/>"Bangkok" is something very special... as we curiously edged closer to find out why people were crowding around this very cosy street vender we both began to smile just as everyone else was, JACKPOT!! we had just managed to stumble across my new favourite dessert. This place truely is a winner, there was something about sitting at the bar and picking out my favourite flavours and watching as the dessert materialised right there and then as me and my friend shared the creation of a very memorable moment. The hand rolled ice cream I witnessed and tasted here is none other than something very unique and enjoyable. I urge anybody who has not experienced K'road or hand rolled ice cream to come check this place out, seriously.. it will change your life!!<br/><br/> <br/> <br/><br/>( Photography: Fee Benning )

I have been always willing to try this rolled ice cream. <br/>I kinda didn't expect much in flavor wise but it was actually quite good. Medium sized rolled ice cream is only $4.50. You get to see how your ice cream is made and you can also have some whipped cream and choose a topping for your ice cream. I say all these for $4.50 is a bargain. Where can you get a handmade ice cream for less than $5? No where. Even some popsicles at the convenient stores are around $3-4. I chose to have a strawberry ice cream. Although, they only put 4-5 small frozen strawberries it was still tasty. The staff was very kind and it only took like 5 minutes to get my ice cream. They have 20 different flavors for ice cream. They also have waffles, crepes and milkshakes. I will definitely come back to try some other flavors.

OBSESSED with this place. There are a million icecream options and it is so cheap! $3 for rolled icecream with toppings! The chocolate cake flavour is to die for 🍫😍🙌🏽

Dropped by this great little place for a sweet icey treat after a nice dinner. Ice-cream curls in a cup or cone with toppings and created before your eyes. Nice flavours and friendly staff.

Came here on a Saturday night. Firstly I was amazed at how reasonable the prizes were! There's 31 flavours to choose from for their rolled ice cream--THIRTY ONE! <br/>After a good 5 minutes of contemplation, I finally settled with the Toffee Apple one, with peanut sprinkles and caramel sauce. <br/>It was good! Although not quite what I expected, I think I'll choose a different flavour next time. My partner got the Nutella, Banana and cream Crepe (yes they also have crepes, shakes and iced coffee!). Everything is made right infront of you. The service from the Thai lady was also really nice! We had small talk with her, she was really friendly. <br/>I'll definitely be back for other flavours!<br/><br/>Price: 10/10<br/>Food: 8/10<br/>Ambience: 9/10<br/>Service: 10/10

It was very entertaining, the ice cream itself was average.<br/>We got the coconut cookies and cream and the salted caramel flavours. <br/>We had to wait for a long time, about 25min in the cold for our ice creams. <br/>Overall experience was poor but the man who served us was very nice.
Ren. P
We had a Caramel and Oreo Thickshake and Two different Crepes. The Crepe's were delicious! They were the perfect size for having something sweet- we were craving dessert and it hit the spot! <br/>The Thickshakes were amazing too- was hard not to try drink it all in one go. <br/>Will be getting the rolled ice cream next time.
I Like Food And I Don't Deny It
Must must try...i tried the blueberry rolled ice cream with white chocolate sprinkle and it was worth it. I saw rolled ice cream only in youtube and i always wanted to try one; I am glad to know that there is one in K' road & i can now tick that off my ice cream bucket list. Also the guy tending the shop is super nice😊👍🏼 i will go back there. In addition, they have tons of flavors to choose from and they also have crepes and shakes.

Omg!! First time trying this ice cream little king ordered chocolate kids size with chocolate sauce and white chocolate sprinkles. I got dairy free coconut ice cream with salted caramel, Oreo and caramel sauce. <br/><br/>Both of them was on par service was nice. Nothing special. But yum!! I love eating ice cream in winter ❄️. But we will be back!
Christine
I got a large vanilla and passion fruit ice cream. The portion size seems small but it was actually pretty filling. The man working there was friendly and he started a conversation with us. This was my first time trying rolled ice cream and it was a pleasant experience. Will be visiting here next time!
