Review Mama Park's Kitchen - Auckland Central

Mama parks always has the best food! We had a big group dinner here and the owner was very accommodating and kind. The shop however is a bit small so i’d recommend coming with a smaller group. The food however was so good!! We got a range of dishes like the half half fried chicken which was sooo good and juicy. The budae jjigae was soo good and warmed us up from the windy weather. The other food we got was really nice too and came very quickly. Overall i’d definitely recommend this place if you’re wanting some yum korean food !

Was my second time visiting Mama Park’s and was welcomed with the same friendly atmosphere. Venue has a nice homey feel with a warm & cozy atmosphere. This occasion we ordered the So Bulgogi and the Hot & Spicy Fish Roe Soup. The complimentary banchan were all really good with the kumara probably being the favourite. Highlight was definitely the soup, being well balanced and filled with good vege. Be careful of the few slices of chilli as they’ll make anything it touches super spicy so make sure you fish these out early. Portions are very large even when grabbing single serves which is perfect if you’re hungry or want some leftovers. They also offer takeaway which seemed to be very popular.

Small but very cozy little restaurant, only 6 tables inside and it’s best to book in advance. Great food and service, really enjoyed our dinner there tonight. Will definitely come back again and try other food.

Love their side dishes and the flavours are amazing. The squid has a chargrilled taste which is really yummy. The Korean fried chicken is tasty too. Lots of food for 2 people, definitely enough for 3-4people if you are not big eaters. Great little place to eat in East Auckland

Amazing food and great local restaurant. Really appreciate the service and atmosphere. Feels like authentic Korean restaurant. Will come again.

My family and I really enjoy this place and the big portions they provide. Family friendly and their spice levels are pretty top notch. If you’re wanting a good spicey Korean experience this would be great for you.

Absolutely love it here! 1. Call in advance for takeout and reservations if needed, given the limited seating. 2. Note that some dishes come with side dishes while others (e.g. fried chicken) do not. + generous servings of side dishes with a one-time free refill for 2 side dishes. 3. Make sure to request 'mild' if you can't handle 🌶️🌶️! 4. No private parking. There may be some language barrier but they assure you with some amazing authentic Korean dishes

It’s just the best, most chill and authentic Korean food place! The owner (I think) is a one woman army who pretty much does everything right from seating guests to hanging out Uber deliveries. Nice to go with a group of friends. The side dishes are amazing and also more than the usual that other places do. Oh And kimchi pancake was to die for! Pictures really don’t do it justice

Very good Korean food and friendly staff. The place is very small so advance booking is recommended

Great place , nice and friendly people , food is generous and absolutely delicious. You need to book in advance. I will definitely get back here. Thanks.

Cozy restaurant with a nice interior. It gets busy so booking is a must. Korean anummas are the chefs and they did a great job on the tteokbokki. Kimchi cheggae was good, not outstanding. Ban chan was served and Korean beer available here too. Would like to come back to try the large shared stews.

Omg... I was just expecting a typical Korean dinner but this place has such an authentic flavour which isn’t too salty and honestly tastes soooooooo good. Definitely returning!!! Loved it

I come here for good comfort Korean food. It's very cozy and you feel right at home. The prices are quite good, food is consistently tasty and authentic, and their portions are filling. They have a nice variety of side dishes that you can get topped up. They have fresh and original soju with selection of beers. Their service is genuine and quite cute ☺️

Yummy! Came here for the first time for dinner and the food was really delicious. Loved the spicy rice cake. I would definitely come back here.

Came here for dinner on a Sunday night. The dim lighting and separated seating of the place give it an inviting and cozy vibe.

Ordered the tteok-bokki and some rice to share between 2. The portion was great, and they were very generous with the contents of the dish as well as the appetizers! The food came quickly and it tasted great too! The rice was a little too sticky for my liking.

Pricing leaned toward the pricier side compared to some other korean places I've been to, but it's not unreasonably so.

Food: 9/10
Service: 7/10
Ambiance: 7/10

I wanted some fried chicken and since KiwiChicken moved far from me, I tried this place out instead. Their chicken is way way over priced by the way. 30$ for fried chicken? Wow. But! I was hungry enough to look pass that and ordered myself a mixed one. Sadly even my partner agrees that KiwiChicken is still better. Their saucy fried chicken was yummy but their normal fried chicken wasnt. I think thats why its not worth it.

Great place for korean food. Loved the service, portion size of food and the flavours of the dishes we ordered were just as great. Space is really small for this population place so had to wait however when we got seated it wasn’t long till our food came out. Would totally recommend this place!!!!

Found another go to place if we fancy Korean dishes. I would say the Bibimbap is the best in Auckland by far. Lovely host and good customer service. If u like Authentic Korean dishes head to this place. Two thumbs up! 👍👍

The KFC here is amazing, generous portions. The lady was so nice and gave us plastic gloves so eating wasn't so messy, and also gave us pickled radish which was so refreshing after mouthfuls of chicken.

Mama Parks is a recent find for me and what a great one indeed! Portions are huge with lots of side dishes, all the classics will be found there. I tried the Al Tang and it had so much fish roe 😍 A great place to chill out with friends, have a drink and enjoy the comfort food.

Not many Korean joints out east which serve KFC. This little spot is closer to home for us which is greatly convenient. Fried chicken is standard but service is great.

Nice chicken, great atmosphere & delicious fried dumplins / sauce. Ordered too much & ended up having to take two takeaway boxes - definitely would recommend

One of the best Korean food I’ve had in Auckland it’s well worth the price and portion is great. We are hooked to this place it’s now our new go to place for a nice Korean meal😃

Authentic food made with love. Service is amazing. Mama Park is so sweet and her fried chicken is a must try. You won’t be disappointed. Generous portions and a wide range.

The food is awesome!!!I was craving for a bowl of warm and good udon, i found them selling. I call for a takeaway,it takes a bit longer then usual but worth the wait. I have order the udon, pork cutlet, bibimnaegmyeon, half and half fried chicken. The chicken was really good 😋although the seasoned one was slightly sweeter. The udon was superb, just exactly what i was craving.

If you are looking for a home cook style korean food, you really need to try Mama park. A small, cozy, friendly eatery with good food

Food is too good, forget about the pictures 😂

Food is cooked so beautifully here. It can be very spicy (just a warning). The fried chicken and the seasoned chicken is always cooked to perfection each time I have bought it. Overall I have visited here several times, ordered different things and they have all been so good.

Love this place. Kimchi taste so good, I guess it’s the best kimchi in the east Auckland. People who working there are so friendly and polite. Highly recommended!

This would have to be my go-to when I feel like Korean now. Friendly staff, great tasting dishes at reasonable price. The only downside was that there were no high chairs in the restaurant so we had to eat while holding our baby. Apart from that, I would highly recommend this place.

Seriously good chicken reminds me of being in Korea. Great service. Cosy venue. Take an empty stomach or a group of mates! I didn't want to leave and always keen to go back. This is a must visit. 😜👌👍👍

Mama Parks is a family eatery. It replaces Sa rang Bang about a year ago, but this is our first time here. I had the newly-introduced soup with pork offal & my wife had the bibimbap. 6 side dishes, all in generous portions, were nice. (At least more than one of them will appeal to you.) Fried dumplings with pork were very ordinary. The bibimbap had my wife's thumb up. The soup must be taken with the spices provided.
(Food - 4/5; Service - 4/5; Ambience - 3.5/5)
Visited on 18 Apr 2018
