Our experience at Novelty Restaurant in Auckland was nothing short of amazing! From the moment we stepped in, we knew we were in for a treat. This the place to go to if you are craving for authentic Indian Rasmalai! It’s totally worth it! The taste and flavor is really good! I have also had their samosas and bread pakora- even their savory is really nice! Would recommend this place if you are craving for authentic Indian savory or sweet dish!

Believe me one of the best panner kulcha i had from long time and guy named Mohit over the counter service was top notch. it is not one of those small kulcha that you can finish it easily. i struggled to wrap it off by myself 🤣 Great Effort Team Novelty 🙏👍

I ordered kadhi pakoda with plain naan. The taste was awesome. Kudos to the chef 🫡👏👏 I thoroughly enjoyed the delicious food. It would have been better if rice was given along with kadhi as all other restaurants give.

Staff is very friendly and atmospher is very cool and chill. In my last visit Shivani served me Pani Puri and dinner. After the dinner Parul offered hot gulab jamun in sweets which was really amazing and fresh. Thanks everyone who is doing great job in Novelty.

Friendly staff who gave me advice on all sorts of stuff I've never even heard of and its one of west auckland's new gems, I'm not a vegetarian so was hesistant but everything on this menu is meeean!! They even gave me a a complimentary aloo tikki, definately going back next chance I get!

I have been going to Novelty once or twice a week for a long time now, every time the food has been really good. Very good taste and always made fresh. Most of my friends and family also stop by here alot as well. The staff are also very friendly especially Amit, Karamjit and Ruby.

Came in the other day to purchase some aloo tikki chatt and this is what I got. Firstly we got 2 and both were half empty, I didn't pay $8-9 for a half full container of food. So disappointing to rip off your customers.

Highly recommended. Excellent food and service. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. We have tasted all their food and love everything . Value for money. My personal favourite is their dahi bhalla n papdi chaat.

Bought 2 chill mushroom dishes from their indo Chinese menu but one of them was way more salty than the other.<br/><br/>Other than that food was still good. <br/>I'd go again to give it another try.

This restaurant is near my physio so I gave it a try and I love Indian food so I was happy to find one Indian restaurant near there.<br/><br/>I went upstairs after placing my order. They have this huge screen playing Indian music videos it was pretty good. A waiter brought my curry and it was too salty for my taste but other than saltiness the curry was good besides, the waiter was really friendly! but.... just one little thing.... I really don't like food being served on a cheap plastic plate. The restaurant looked to be nice but this little thing brings the whole restaurant's image down...<br/><br/>I might revisit coz the waiter was kind and the curry itself was good. I just need to ask less salt in my curry. I just hope they don't serve food on cheap plastic plates....

Amazing Food, Amazing service and very kind people on the Counter, Gosh they even let me pick up my own favorite piece of Milk Cake and trust me, it was delicioussss, <br/>Had heard a lot about this place from friends and I am so glad I picked up this place to have my Sunday meal. Novelty sweet has been doing the rounds among our social circles for a while now with a good response. We followed the murmurs from the depth of our ever searching belly and off we went gallivanting on a Sunday night with the entire family in stow. The buzzword to describe the restaurant/sweet shop &quot;real Punjabi Food&quot; and it does great justice.<br/>The place is quintessential Punjab-music, food, people- all with a big heart and smile on the lips and to add my two bit-easy on the pocket. The place is pure vegetarian with &quot;Desi Ghee&quot; liberally poured.<br/>Two story building, downstairs sweetshop and upstairs Dine-in. Place orders at the ground floor or use the cleverly set-up intercom from upstairs. The menu is laden with authentic food from the depth of Punjab.<br/>We ordered Makki-da-Roti with sarson ka saag and masala Lassi, Standard Thali, Paneer Kathi Roll, Pani Puri, Paneer Kulcha and Chole Bhature. We braced ourselves from a typical long wait and got busy talking. Surprisingly, the food arrived super fast(less than 10minutes), served by a delightful youngman with the brightest smile you can imagine. The portions were huge and food super tasty,more than the belly can handle. Looking at the price it was super cheap. Each of the food items were authentic, tasty, hot and all the spices and seasoning were balanced, nothing out of the proportion. The total hit on the back-pocket, under $80. Well done and Thank you<br/>In summary, the food was great, portions even better, service friendly and fast, ambiance(which by than didn&#039;t matter was average). Highly recommended-pls see health warning below.<br/>Health warning-The food is typical of Punjab, portions big with Desi Ghee and butter liberally poured. It can be heavy on a typical tender stomach and for a evening meal. Recommended visit for a lazy Saturday or Sunday Lunch

A great selection of vegetarian dishes, used to be $9.99, now mostly $12.99. This price is for a full size curry and includes rice. Very good curries and Naan breads.

Amazing food. Tried Bhalla papdi chaat, pani puri, tandoori chaap, gulab jamun. Everything tastes good. Worth to visit this place. Great and polite service received from Jaswinder. 😊

ordered the amritsari thali with laccha paratha n a garlic naan. the kulcha could've been better with some salt in the mixture and the naan could've been softer as it went hard real quick😁 will give it another try though

I have been a customer of Novelty for about a year now and always order takeaway - Palak paneer, mutter paneer, rajma and black daal. I have never had any complaints so far with the food. The service is always friendly and they are very accommodating of my requirements. I will continue to be their customer and will definitely try out other things on their menu :)

I had two completely opposite experiences at this place. We went there a month ago on a weekday and it was the best dinner we had in a long time (in terms of Ghar ka khana of course) Every dish we ordered was delicious. The service was amazing as well. There was not any rush either Since we were so happy with all that, we went there again after 2 weeks with some of our friends and it was the worst dinner we had. There was no service, food was beyond disappointing. We came to the conclusion that because it was Sunday, they had quite a rush and to fulfil the orders, they were just putting out the food for the sake of doing it. There was no quality control.

last night had dinner. we ordered monday special thali. It was cold and not fresh food. Mushroom was uncooked. Not recommemded for dinner. Daal was too old as well.

Great food with heaps of north and south indian dishes to choose from. We stumbled across this place a few months ago after trying to find a good local indian joint and this place has always delivered. Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever received. Went into the store yesterday and stood there for almost 10 minutes without a greeting or even acknowledgment as a customer by the 2 staff members who were working. As a customer  - acknowledgement and just a friendly “hello” is really appreciated which I did not receive. Will definitely not be coming back to Novelty.

This is my dinner spot .there are sparkling lights,music ,favourite food a great combination of dinning out .i m always glad to be there . Food is so yummy and great service highly recommended. 👍🏻

Came here with elderly parents. Was blown away with the service and food. Was made very comfortable by the manager on Duty and all our needs were met. Food was excellent portion sizes generous and value for money. Highly recommended

Went for lunch to Novelty to celebrate our friends birthday. We had a lovely time. The food was excellent, ambience was good. Specially would like to mention that Pawan, who was at the counter, was very helpful and went out of his way to make our celebration extra special. Not only did he make good recommendations re what we should order but also went and ordered a cake and played birthday music and made our friends birthday extra special. Would definitely suggest to try the Amritsari Thali. It was yummy.

So , I had heard a lot about novelty and decided to go there for lunch ! Good to see the place had a crowd !! We ordered Masala Dosa ( Dosa plaza is just 5 min away) and chole bhature. We waited 45 minutes for the Soggy Dosa to arrive ! Ok I understand the crowd and the number of order is the reason ! But., the coconut chutney then turns out to be absolutely raw no flavour at all,the garlic chutney was definitely not fresh , it had some stale smell on it ! Tried to avoid eating that when we found the potato ( masala inside the Dosa) was stale again, it was undercooked and no salt at all !! We were still waiting for the bhature which was amazing !! I mean I can’t say it was the best but after the Dosa experience it was definitely edible !

Best place for indian sweets and authentic dishes. Prices are reasonable. We go there often and have never been disappointed. Food is really good and service is fast. Jassi knows well how to provide great customer service. Can’t complain about anything.

We ate lunch at this Sweets Shop yesterday. We ordered two Indian Dishes and it was so hot. The Chef cooked it like truly Indian Style. The Gajar Halwa was so delicious that we might come again to eat. The service is not so good and made us to grab our Cutlery upstairs. The top plate wasn’t cleaned properly. Talk about pricing then it’s very reasonable. <br/>Must recommend to Indian families who like Ambience and Privacy.

we visited first time here and the overall experience was very bad. we asked for jalebi...they said it's finished. we asked for Samosa...they said it will take 30 mins...and finally asked for rasmalai. The guy said yes it is there and we paid for that only to know that too is not available after we paid. I believe the owner came from inside and said they can do samosa as a replacement in 2 mins...how it is possible the first guy said 30 mins and now 2 mins...comeon what's going on here...finally got a refund and left the place with total disappointment. I suggest please ring them first and check what's available rather wasting time by going there.

If you are looking for authentic Indian vegetarian food than will recommend our local Novelty. My team often visit this place and our favorite is Aloo Kulcha or Chole Bhature with salted Lassi. ...you must try it . The staff is very friendly and the new decor is great.

If you are a foody person and lives in Auckland...you need to visit Novelty. The food is really satisfactory and yummy...I almost visit every day and have my dinner there..... the renovations have worked well for them.....you enjoy nice food with listening to good desi music......... sweets are fresh you can feel that when you see and try them......... the person managing it is also very gentle and lovely to speak. I would recommend this to everyone.

Jaswinder and Pawan are the usual people who serve us... both are very good. Fantastic customer service!!! They are very keen on feedback and alter menu to suit individual request. They are open late until 10pm, 7 days ...that’s another reason we like it here. Give a call and pick up your yummy order in 10mins. My favourites are Panneer Parata, Channa Batura, Samosa, Veg Manchurian, Pan Ice Cream and all their sweets.

It's very unlikely that you come to an Indian sweet place and find the atmosphere gloomy. At 6:30 pm on weekdays basic item like samosa wasn't ready (may be it's one off) this actually annoyed me. May be the place is low on staff too because there was no one at the reception to take orders and everytime I had to order, I had to ring the bell. The place also did not have half of the items from the menu ready. On the whole, I probably wouldn't come back. <br/>

I have been coming to this restaurant for the last 2 and half months I would say. The quality of the food and service is really great, not only is it well priced it's always delicious (the spicer the better :D), my favourite dish at the moment is Kadai Paneer which I always make sure to get verrrry spicy, the Manager Pawan always obliges me. :) To keep a long story short, I always have a good time here so I'm going to highly recommend you come and check it out for yourself.

They're a decent Indian eatery. I really their Punjabi Kulchas - the portion sizes are very satisfactory. <br/>One of the most important things for me when I'm going out to eat is the ambience and that's where they really lack. I would give their ambience a 2 on 5. <br/>Their service is pretty fast - so that's a plus. I would recommend this place if you're a fan of Indian sweets!

Service was friendly. Ordered aloo tikki chaat, chole bhature and idli sambar. The chaat and chole bhature were ok (probably a 5 on a scale of 1 to 10) but the idli/sambar was a disaster! For one, the idlis were so small that charging $7.99 for 4 of those tiny idlis was simply not justifiable. As for taste, both the idlis and the sambar were nowhere near even average. We couldn't even finish the 4 super-small idlis that's how bad they were! This was my first time here but one thing is certain - will never order South Indian from here again as I think they must be more geared towards North Indian cuisine.

I have been there for quite a few times, they have got delicious sweets, affordable price, wonderful variety in the menu on top of that Novelty has got friendly and welcoming staff service, Mr. Pawan has been having the great professional managerial skill to inspire and invite us as a permanent customer of Novelty. I have been to Novelty sweets many time/. Always liked there food and never had any problem. We asked Mr. Pawan for catering and they did an excellent job. Firstly we were having a small gathering around 25 people and everyone was impressed by there food and services and then we had a catering of 60 people which again gave us a really good experience.<br/>I highly recommend Novelty sweets for catering purposes.

Food is really yummy. Best indian restro in town I would say. Me and my partner have tried almost everything over there. Sweets are fresh and very tasty. Best I like in that restro is the customer service given by the manager Pawan and the way he manages it is quiet remarkable. I would recommend it to all my friends. Do try their chole bhatoore, burger and amritsari kulcha.

few days back we been to Novelty and bought laddu,but when we went home,we found laddu was totally disgusting and black from inside.very next day i came back to Novelty ,just to tell them about their sweet and staff said probably its because of new manager ,he might not know about sweets.but it's unbelievable ,how come they can't see their sweets was smeely.its ridiculous.its seems like Manager does not know anything about businesses.anyway i'm not gonna come back .

We guys visit yesterday in novelty sweets. We ordered for Amritsari kulcha and gobi parantha . Food was really delicious and customer service was excellent . We also buy sweets from the counter . Came in here with my sister for a quick bite. Ordered the aloo paratha which came with pickles and raita. It was super delicious and good value for money as it was only $5.99, it also came out big and crispy and also with some Amul butter which was a plus as it had that desi taste. very filling as well. I think it was also very good that the lady at the counter who took order asked how spicy I would like my paratha. The sweets there are delicious as well, we grabbed some before we left. We got the kaju lemon, boondi ladoo with dry fruits and watermelon. All were delicious without having a bitter after taste that I have noticed to be present in sweets sold in auckland. Will definitely recommend and be back for more.<br/><br/>I came back and got the dhal makhani for my bf who said it was the best he has ever had!! Very reasonable pricing as well. Still super impressed with this place.
