So many options in Ponsonby food court, so glad we close this one! Fast service, delicious food, lotta fresh veggies, generous portions- we'll definitely be back for more!

One of the places in the Ponsonby International food court. I quite like their food since the flavours are quite nice and authentic. I had the seafood in claypot. It wasn't served in a claypot which was disappointing but the flavours of the noodles were nice.

Food very nice and spicy..

Similar dining experience to a busy loud and vibrant food hall in Singapore or Malaysia. Food is very tasty. My favourite is the chicken mimi fried rice. I suggest giving it a try and also their snapper (steamed or fried)

Just discovered this little food court in Ponsonby that has a lot of south East Asian hawker food stores. Unusual finds - Laotian, Balinese hawker store that was closed, an Indian place, Malaysian, Vietnamese place, Japanese, vegan pizza and a coffee and juice and beer joint.

Decided to order a little bit from every store to try the fare. And agreed that this is definitely a place that we will come back to.

Like:
1. The owner was friendly and recommended his gravy noodles but we thought his sizzling plates look interesting and in particular his fried snapper dish which turned out to be amazing. Fish was crispy and not oily and fresh!!!

2. Came with rice and a small serve of sweet chilli sauce which really hit the spot.

The next time we come back we will try the steam fish - definitely come back for more.

Been here twice, firstly i ordered sizzling seafood. Came out nice and the portion was right. Not too small and not too heavy.

Second time came after 9pm at night on monday. I forgot to take a picture of my dish but its a mee goreng. This one is delicious!!

The portion was also huge, two thumbs up!!! The spice just kicking! I ordered medium spicy!

Compare to the kampung Malaysia next to it, this one is a pocket saver as the food is way cheaper!!!

Definitely will come back!

food was off, when pointed to the staff she started arguing until i asked her to smell the carrots. she immediately realized and stopped arguing but still no apology or didn't even offer a refund. Avoid unless you want to get food poisoned.

Been here 2 times and ordered different dishes and both came out completely different green chicken came up just as a soy sauce dish which was bland as heck and ordered another dish that was the same, I would rather eat instant ramen

Amazing food! Highly recommend the number 1 (sizzling fish). Pretty healthy too. Service is great, the owner always gives me a huge smile and knows just the right amount of spice to put in so my lips tingle but I can still taste the flavours (that's with the "hot" level of spice). Great value too. Most of the meals are sub-$15 and they're really filling.

Definitely in the top 5 places for me in Ponsonby foodcourt. The cashew curry is delicious but so rich that at times it can be hard to finish.

Sizzling plates are also good and come with a large selection of vegetables. I find the flavours a bit boring but my boyfriend loves them (primarily soy based sauces) The chilli can be a little off and usually the meals are mild even if you ask for more.

A good consistent place nonetheless and I will be back!

Disappointed with the lamb ginger soup I was served last night. It was the first visit in a very long time and I was expecting it to be delicious like my last experience.
However, the lamb was boiled to the consistency of rubber, so it was not edible at all. The broth was sickly sour, as if it were left at room temperature for a day and there were ingredients left out of dish that were stated on the menu.
In all fairness, the staff were professional and friendly and I was refunded.

I am having lunch and very lucky I didn't buy from this place as the scumbag behind the counter was picking his nose and wiping it on his jeans!!!
What a mongrel!

Stopped by for dinner and ordered the lamb fried noodle. The food was really nice and tasty. Ordered medium and the heat was just right. The flavours weren't westernised. Friendly staff and decent food.

We ordered show show me chicken and fish curry. Show show me was too sweet and the rice different from photo displayed and fish curry looked totally different from photo as well and tasted just like any other coconut curry. Service was fast and staff very nice.

This thyme round it was the Massaman Curry from Zap Lai at the Ponsonby Food Court. ย A thin spicy, sweet curry sauce with carrot, beans, potato, pumpkin and chicken, topped with fried shallots.

The pumpkin was very firm, there was one last piece surrounded in curry sauce at the bottom of my bowl. ย I used my spoon to try to cut the pumpkin in half, pressing hard, the piece of pumpkin screamed up the side of the bowl and flew onto the floor covering my shorts in curry sauce in the process. ย I thought I'd gotten over my eating disorder .....

Has this place changed owners?ย I have been going to the Ponsonby Food Court for around ten years, although not so much recently, and always head straight to Zap Lai. Had four or five favourites, and on my last visit ordered the Show Chicken.ย Staff were all unfamiliar to me, and at first didn't understand my order.ย It came reasonably quickly, but it wasn't at all what I was expecting.ย Instead, it was chicken and vegetables with sweet and sour sauce and loads of pineapple. I scanned their menu, in case they'd given me someone else's order, and couldn't find anything resembling what I had received.ย It was a busy night so I couldn't be bothered taking it back.ย What a shame ... I have always raved about this place and recommended it to others, but I won't be doing that any more.

Steamed snapper with vegetables, ginger slice and spicy sauce- delicious. Fresh snapper. Very exquisite flavouring and authentic. This is a Laos dish

The sizzling noodles from Zap Lai are my partners fave, he literally won't order anything else from the FC!! Always comes out super fast, and it tastes delicious. Only downside is the noodles are pretty oily, so more of a treat meal :-)
