It's good to see another buffet restaurant close to botany. Reasonably priced, the quality of the meat and others were very good. Variety of meats were available. And soft drinks were keep getting replaced with new one so it was nice. And the ice cream, I loved the rum and rasin ice cream! The staff were friendly with nice smile. I would definitely recommend to others.

An early lunch with friends at Paragon in China Town. This was my first time at China Town since it was opened years ago, as I heard a lot of negative feedback about its shops & food that dissuaded me from visiting. We had clay pot with dry pork belly & Chinese sausage, BBQ pork fried noodles, Hokkin fried rice & stir-fried Shanghai rice cake; soup was complimentary. Everything was fairly impressive, taking into account the added MSG. My favourite dish was the rice cake - well-prepared & -cooked. (Food - 3.5/5; Service - 3/5; Ambience - 3.5/5)

Well its not my first choice to go to this restaurant today for our lunch but my husband keep insisting we should have a try.

Its lunch time and I was starving. I dont have any high expectations on this place but we we're really impressed on the food and service we have got today.

Looking at the menu there is a lot of options to choose from. We have decided to try their lunch specials which costs $12 per meal. We have ordered curry beef brisket and the claypot black bean sauce spare ribs. The lunch special comes with soup and steam rice.

The soup is quite nice. Its nice to see that there is a lot of chunky vegetables in there.

The curry beef brisket is nice as well. I really enjoyed this meal. The beef is tender. It could have been better if the fat from the meat is rendered or cut off. The portion is generous. This meal is good to share for two people.

The claypot spare ribs is quite nice as well. The meat could have been cooked a little longer so we get that nice tender meat. The balance of flavour however is perfect. The black bean sauce is not too overpowering which is great! The portion is huge with this one as well 😁

We dont have any complaints with the service we have received today. The staffs were were attentive and helpful.

Overall, it is quite a good experience and definitely coming back again soon 😊

Nice environment, just a bit noisy because of the kitchen. We had Peking duck 2 course $48 (pancake + duck meat with rice noodle) and long bean. They all taste nice.

I come here for dinner and fish head soup noodle is to die for. Ask for fresh chilli sauce to flavour the soup and it's even more tastier. Highly recommended!

Peking duck to die for in East Tamaki

We absolutely love their peking duck!! Without a doubt the best in Auckland. We come here at least once a month to have it. Today, we arrived at 12pm and it was quiet. We've become regulars here so they knew what we wanted. They serve soup per person before the meal and it's a nice broth, warms the body up. The first course is the standard duck wraps with cucumber/green onion and hoisin sauce. The wraps are not too thick or thin and with the first bite, the duck just melts in your mouth. We wish they would give us more hoisin sauce :( the second course is stir fry duck with vegetables wrapped in lettuce. The lettuce is so crispy and there's so much duck! Most places give so little. I decided to give 4.5 as we haven't tried anything else here but they tend to get busy at dinner time so we can only assume it is good. Service is lovely.

Pictures:
- Lettuce cups with stir fry duck and vegetables
- Duck slices, flour wraps, cucumber/green onion and hoisin sauce

For two courses, it is $48 and you cannot beat that price with the amount you get and service in Auckland. We are always left satisfied and super full (2 people). This will always be our favourite peking duck place.

Came here for lunch with mum. Ordered spicy chicken, combination seafood casserole with rice and salt and pepper pork on rice. Spicy chicken not too bad. The portion of the salt and pepper rice was huge for $10, but it consist mostly of rice with some decent amount of pork. The combination seafood casserole on rice was the let down of the meal, the seafood consisted mostly of variety of fish balls cut in half with a few frozen prawns and a couple of frozen calamari added to it. Would not pay $12 for that again! Will not be going back.

Go for dinner with 4 friends,, deco is simple but nice. The foods are two thumbs up. The price for the food a little expensive but acceptable. The only downside is service. The servers just like they do not want to be there, always looking away or down, no contact with the customers. But overall is good, really enjoying the food and the environment.

What 3 stars? No way!!! This place is awesome. It's not fancy, but who cares? Order the Peking Duck! It's amazing and huge!!!! Seriously it feeds my family of 3 to the point of being over full and then we bring some home. Love, love, love this place :)

This place is a disappointment! First we book and wanting seating for 6pm, were told to come 6:45pm so wait will be minimal. Was ok with this but when arrive and ordered our meal we waited for 1hr! Then they came to tell us they run out of one of the dishes so we changed that to another dish. 15 mins later they came back and said another dish also ran out. So we cancelled the dish. Three of our dish came of which one dish was the wrong order and another one was double up. 30 mins later our remaining two dish came out after we went to follow up of which the lady boss told her staff if it is not cooked cancel the order for him.

Finally the two dishes came and guess what they even double up one of the dishes.

It was Mother's Day and yes they were busy. I could probably accept one error but this was too much. The family dinner was ruined by them!

By the way basic things like tea serving was not even done properly, we had a pot of tea and when asked to refill, the pot was taken but was not returned. The rice serve was cold and more like sticky rice, don't call yourself a restaurant if you don't even know how to cook proper basic rice.

Shame on them, my first and last time dining here.

Would recommend people to stay far far away, plenty of better Chinese restaurant in Auckland and even within Botany/Howick.

Spoke to the lady boss when I went up to pay and she wasn't even apologetic and said it is a busy day.

I have been patronising this restaurant since it opened. Its a good restaurant to bring the family. I would recommend it to anyone. Try the black pepper venison. The place is clean and the staff though not very fluent in English, they try their best. The service is great.

I come here more than i cook at home, the food is really fantastic as well as the friendly service. I highly recommend this restaurant!
I do enjoy the prices for lunch, but the portion is good for the price for diner, which i don't mind.

try the black pepper beef, my favorite, and the lemon chicken but ask for the sauce on the side, way nicer!

the strawberry green tea is out of this world, very sweet so if your counting calories beware :) all there iced green teas are delicious... A+++
