Review Happy Days Buffet Restaurant - Auckland Central

Corena Parakoti
First time I came for dinner here and I enjoyed it. I liked my tea and shortbread biscuits, pavlova and choc mousse they were actually really good. Heaps of different options, I didn't eat everything but what I did eat was good enough. Waitress were really good with the cleaning up process. I guess we went there on a good night.

Had dinner was very nice tonight apart from a few uncooked items. The staff were very friendly and moved the dishes fast. $84 for 2 adults and a 7 year old which is cheaper than McDonald's and we stayed over an hour.

My little sister and her husband invited me to go dine at this place (Happy Days) at Wiri. So I took a friend and went along. To my surprise - the food and everything were extremely excellent !!

5 for the food šŸ˜‹ I know I left a review last year and gave a 1 but this is my first time back since that 1 star review and I actually very much enjoy the food they had a great selection of new foods like the spicy prawns was so yum but notice they still had their old menu but it was good wasn't as tasteless as before so I will be going back but you have too book like maybe 2 days prior cause they are always fully booked thanks for dinner now I can't move or breathe was good

Wholly mowelly. Food heaven. Food was fresh and crisp . So much to choose from . All waiting staff catered to my needs . And banter was enjoyable ( we even cracked a few jokes ) smiles all round. This establishment lives up to its name ā™„ļøŽ

Nice family friendly Restaurant good selection of meat veg seafood and desserts to choose from great table service with helpful friendly staff

My kids love it here but some Sundays we eat the same and dry food itā€™s not worth the price anymore šŸ„ŗ
Sarah-Jay Screen
Ok selection and it was very nice and warm inside but not much in the way of alcoholic drink selections when my partner went to purchase at bar but they said they had been robbed recently so that may be why... also you have to pay prior to eating which I thought weird?
Jolene
Staff were fantastic and very accomodating. The service was on point šŸ‘Œ. Food was abit average but considering we were the last booking for the night...totally understandable.
Lavonne Manava
Very nice food would totally go back

Love there hours and especially the food. Merry Christmas

Not only is the food SHIT so is the customer service the three times Ive had to come in there the women that work there are super rude and stare and whisper in a group right in front of the table me and my husband were sitting at. I ended up yelling at one of them and that was the last time I went there hahaha

DISGUSTING, DISGUSTING, DISGUSTING! I usually enjoy my time here at happy days, the food, customer service, PRICES. But it has been disappointing over the recent years. The food, specifically the pasta salad smelled off and tasted off. The bread rolls were hard. There were flies all over the salad and was only removed when a staff was called. When asked for the manager to talk about this the staff asked "why" in a rude manner. The Ham, chicken, butter chicken and fried rice tasted like it was left there over night. I highly recommend NOT to come here for the dinner service. The dessert is half decent.
Jean
Everything was okay. (Not the best but it's good)<br/>Loved the desserts though quite a few options to choose from.

Been here a few times. It's honestly not too bad especially if your starving lol. Roasts are algood however some of the other food/deserts can be quite tasteless.

Ate here with my family once, I only had a few items of food but the food was horrible and looked dodgy. Had a sore tummy afterwards. Safe to say I will never ever eat here again. AVOID
Margaret Fruean
Really bad customer service. The workers there didnā€™t make people feel welcome at all. As soon as we got into the restaurant, the man that seems to be the manager said no booking when I called in the same morning to book, so we didnā€™t eat but left. And the workers behind the counter talking s*** about everyone. Never going back there, all I felt was bad vibes! So much for ā€œHAPPYā€ Days

Average layout, bland customer service, hated the scrambled eggs they were horrible no taste at all would of been nice if the chefs actually served scrambled instead of just serving it out as a poured mixture that you just chuck in the oven. Also the worst porridge Iā€™ve ever tasted, had a off putting taste like the milk or cream that was in the porridge got over burnt from being in the pot too long.

Booked for my dad's birthday dinner. We booked for 7:30pm. Food was almost finish, did not top up any of the food. Only had scrapes of whatever that was left. Went & bought KFC. Such a waste of money. Won't be going there anymore. Customer service 2/5 workers need to learn to smile.

Came here for lunch on a Friday, the food was fresh and also good variety of dishes, ham on bone also roast beef very tasty also deserts range was good.<br/>

I love this place. Reasonable price. Heaps of variety. Food is tasty, people are nice šŸ‘ Iā€™ll keep going here. Great selection of food, thereā€™s something for everyone
Cris Taufetee
Never fails, love this place. I bit pricey but obviously for all the right reasons since the food is realllly goood !! Went with 2 other friends and booked at the exact time, even though they were busy but yessssss
Feelisteen099
They should change the time of breakfast. Been here twice before itā€™s suppose to open and they opened after 7.30. When we called the lady on the phone was pretty rude.
Nicole Havea
Iā€™ve been here a few times. Food is below average and not much variety as it is almost always the same options. Service isnā€™t too great either. Took forever for our table to be cleared.

First time visiting for my dads 60th lunch yesterday and it was such an awesome experience. Being a buffet in South Auckland and seeing mainly only negative reviews I was hesitant to visit. Thankfully my older brother had chosen the venue so I had no choice but to join, which Iā€™m glad I did. First plate (in photos) had potato salad, garden salad, tuna pasta, roast pork in gravy, prawns, mushroom sauce and breads and it wasnā€™t a gourmet meal but the components were expectable in the price you pay. They were decent meals with decent portions in the stations. Personally for $23.90 for a buffet in S.A (that beats valentines Manukau) you get what you pay for - cheap all you can eat :) Iā€™m about to become a regular on them days when food is the cure to everything hahaha. Thanks happy days, see you again soon :)

I love this place, favourite place to come for a meal. I love the roast pork which is served, always packed with people but the atmosphere is great. Excellent service.

Iā€™ve been here a twice and itā€™s safe to say the food is disgusting. The first time I came here the chips were cold and stale, the meatballs were raw and werenā€™t mince at all but sausage meat and wasnā€™t even cooked properly, the butter chicken also didnā€™t even taste like butter chicken but tasted as if it was made with tomato sauce because it had such a strong tomato taste which is strange for a ā€œbutter chickenā€. I thought maybe they were just having a bad day and the food wasnā€™t prepped that well for the day so I let it slide. Now I went back a second time to give it another the chance and I instantly regret it. The man at the front was very rude by just snatching the money from us while we were paying. Mightā€™ve just been having a bad day but thatā€™s not excuse when working in customer service. Then the food was awful. Chips were warm but STALE...AGAIN. The fish didnā€™t even taste like it was fish, tasted more like a fake rubbery texture. The spring rolls tasted like they had been sitting in the warm for like 10 hours. The fried rice was ok but thatā€™s about it. Then to top it off I had gotten sick that night and had a sore stomach from the food from here as it was the only thing I had eaten all day. Never again šŸ¤®

booked some weeks ago for 15 ppl, rang last week to up that number to 30.Ā  Unfortunately 8 of our party couldn't make it but still had to pay for 25 ppl because of some policy restaurant has with leeway of 4ppl either side.Ā  That was a bit of a bummer because the restaurant was full, overflowing with diners.Ā  Food was good, wait staff were excellent and friendly.Ā  We were seated in a cool area which was a plus.

Have given this place a visit a few times, hoping for an improvement but it doesn't quite happen. Quite dated and the food offered is not the best. Sweet items are minimal, not made in house and not fresh. Hot items weren't much better. Most were over cooked and as if they had been made a few days before service. With a menu change and fresh coat of paint this place has potential to be amazing.

I am so disappointed, we booked Happy days for my niece's birthday was on a Friday dinner and the reason was because of their bbq steak. Ā I even asked the lady i booked with if they have bbq steak as per advertisement and she confirmed yes they will have. Ā Come Friday and went for our lil celebration at 5.30pm, come 6pm, come 7pm and i asked one of the staff that she was slicing the ham and beef when are we getting the bbq steak and she replied "steak are there so help yourselves" i turned and saw what she pointed at and there was a tray of cooked but cold lamb chops NOT bbq steaks as advertised sitting on top of the bbq half cover in foil. Ā I turned around as asked her, but what about the bbq steaks with eggs on top that was advertised and confirmed when i called? She replied "well if you don't like it then don't eat it and you can talk to the manager if you want." I was so disappointed as my guests were from overseas and they get to see this service and the food wasn't very pleasant. Ā In my opinion i paid $29.90 per head, but what i received was $12.90.

have not been to the place for many many years, staff wear all nice and frendley.<br/>unfortunelley even thow all the food looked great at face value I woulds not go back there a wast of TIME. The food tasted like it was stright out of a packet, the seafood tasted like it had been refrozen ten times over salands not flavor just yak , I did not even get to desert to scared to.<br/>would not go back there the kitchen staff need to go back to cooking classes.<br/>dont know why the place is so busy because you would have to be starving to eat there not recamended at all

I booked seats at this buffet and paid a deposit for my family and I to celebrate my Grandads 85th birthday. Upon arrival we were told by Bruce that "I" had called and cancelled our booking the week prior to function. There were 32 of us, all there and ready, our elders were seated by the entrance and waiting, by standers were watching us as we all stood there in disbelief, As I tried to figure out what was going on (as I organised our booking) I asked Bruce if he had checked my cellphone number with the anonymous caller who cancelled my booking. He replied with "yes" for security reasons they will always check phone numbers. He also told my family before I had got there that I called them, cancelled my booking and was going to come and collect my deposit. I booked for 12/08 paid $240 deposit on the 02/08 and cancelled my booking 05/08 and reckon to go to the restaurant with 32 people and collect my deposit? In which I had left in their hands for 7days? No, I don't think so. That same night, this happened to another family. The cancelled booking shenanigans. They were lucky enough to get seats for their family after being told the same story as I had. A gentleman dining in had come up to me and showed sympathy towards my family and I as he'd seen my Elders sitting there confused, the kids waiting and my sisters and I trying to figure out what was going on. Really upset that ALL blame was put upon me, Happy days couldn't admit that they had obviously over booked, had taken the bigger booking and robbed me and my family for celebrating our Grandads milestone. I don't recommend this place to anybody. Foods one thing, but service either makes it or breaks it. Especially when they don't admit to their mistakes and put it all on the individual. Yeah no, from now on my family and I are taking our bookings elsewhere.

Ive eaten ate this place twice but years ago and they werent too bad. I just called them 5 mins ago to make a big group booking for our church group on Sunday and the guy that answered the phone was so rude. Sounded like he just didnt give a crap. Reading the reviews, im happy i didnt go ahead with the booking, Rude Customer Service & seems like disgusting food aswell :) Bye Felicia

Usually here for lunch if Im hungry and need buffet food but this morning I was here for breakfast and first in a long long time. Basically I came here with no expectation of 5-star quality instead I came here because I was hungry. $15pp - all you can eat buffet and you get what you pay for.

Went for breakfast on a Wednesday morning. Loved it šŸ˜Š was a bit sketchy with other reviews I've seen about there breakfast menu from others but you don't know what's good till you try it yourself right?! My only downer with them is the jar of juice cost $15 alone which I think is an outrage of a price....

Went to happy days for breakfast, there was not many variety had to make our own toast and there was a few of us waiting in line for the toaster.. food was just not satisfying.. Better of just dining at Mc Donald's...
Loanton1992
Went there for my friends graduation dinner one of the lady was yelling at us tell us leave because they were fully book and was being very rude what a bad customers service never coming back here ever again šŸ˜”šŸ˜”šŸ˜”šŸ˜”šŸ˜”šŸ˜”šŸ˜”.

This is one of the most popular Buffet restaurant in South Auckland Manukau city. Love the Buffet breakfast 7am-10:30am. If you love buffet eating, this is the place to go...even has slot machines if you feeling lucky.
Ofaah Leaah
Food is great tho! Some of their staffs weren't looking presentable with what their wearing, they're so disrespectful. They don't smile! Really disappointed don't think we would come back to happy days. The only we enjoyed is the food, bad service.
I_like_pickles
I never pass up a buffet place lol.<br/>Place is a bit run down. Does not look very happy anymore. <br/><br/>Furniture is very outdated and the place just seemed very sad. Many of the serving areas were closed or had no food. There wasn't much of a selection to choose from and the food didn't warrant seconds for me.<br/><br/>I pretty much just did one plate of food and a bit of dessert. I give Happy Days a sad emoji šŸ˜ž
Teariki
The carpet is disgusting and very old, torn and lumps here and there causing dust to fly up in the air which you cannot see unless the sun is shining through the windows so your eating dust in your food! A room full of dust the whole time! Never going back
Colin Paice
Came here today for lunch with a group.Ā  It was absolutely disgusting, no atmosphere.Ā  Food was dropped on the floor where they serve the buffet therefore causing you to slip and watch where youĀ walkĀ and then it was being carried through to the restaurant and trampled into the carpet and there was no attempt made of cleaning this up.Ā  Food was tasteless and the ham and roast pork was sitting in a liquid when carved (yuck).Ā  Tables were too close together so when trying to get up and down you were jammed in.Ā  Very noisy, you couldn't hear other people in our group speak.Ā  TheĀ air conditioning units eventually got turned on as it got quite warm and it blasted out freezing cold air as the units were directly above the tables, that's when we left and we won't be back ever.

First time here for my Aunty's birthday. For a family restaurant, the food was good, many selections, entrees, mains included hot food, seafood and of course desserts. Many staff members with a smile that waitered around. Good place for family function. The space for the food area could be looked at as it was very tight fitted but it was comfortable in a way.
Joseph Boyce
Came here for breakfast me my partner and daughter, ok so the price is cheap for all you can eat but the food was absolutely DISGUSTING!!! Not worth $15 i couldve made a better breakfast myself at home for that price!! The eggs were the worst and thats the one thing kiwis love! I do not recommend this place at all to anyone please dont waste your money on breakfast here you WILL be disappointed. The owners need to go for a trip to sand bar in gold coast now THATS a buffet breakfast!!! Get some tips
Dontknow Hello
For a family restaurant, i found it very sad. The staff are very ignorant and rude. Nothing but dirty looks, which made us feel very uncomfortable. Only reason why we stayed is because my children were enjoying the food. The food was nice. Just the staff could do with a training session on customer service. If i knew who to complain too, i would do so. Happy Days in Manukau should be ashamed.
Bree
Food is so disgusting and the stuff needs some serious training, they absolutely have no people skills.my husband and I went in for lunch today one waiter came up to our table out of no where and grab our plates and I wasn't finish Ā (no excuse me or excuse me would you like me to take your plates) or sorry, even when I said thank you she still didn't say anything or even a smile.the stuff needs to have uniform not looking like they going for a walk on the street come on.for one of the lady chef that works there she needs training in hygiene, today I watched her picked up a lemon that fell on the floor and looked around thinking no one was looking and she thru it back on the plate how sick is that!!!!who does that I will never ever return back there again I would NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE Ā and the place needs a good clean big time!!!!
Christina Meki
Delish! So many options that you were full with your eyes. And definitely yum! Way more options then valentines but who I knows I haven't been valentines since they moved location but definitely the place to go especially for family birthdays
Charles Standen
Took my partner there for breakfast as it had been a hard couple of weeks for our family so just wanted to try do something to try brighten her day and it was crap!!!!! How is it you can serve COLD FOOD THATS MENT TO BE HOT!!!!? We brought it to the cashiers attention Ā that the food was cold and she cold check herself to see we weren't lying but she wasnt even fazed one bit. She didnt go and check, the only thing she said is "Well theres not much i can do because you sat at a table, but it'll be $30.00"Asked for a manager and she tells us their not available and proceeded to ask us to pay. I asked for what because we didnt eat or drink anything its all cold.. and still it came back to the fact we sat on a table. Totally blooody rip off.. I ended up taking my partner to Dennys and got way better service WITH HOT FOOD!!!! You guys are a rip off! Get charged $30 just for sitting at your table. I'll never take my partner or kids there.. HELL NO!
Christina Sika
Good place to take a large family, value for money is good. I appreciate the service from the reception to the bar was amazing. Had a good meal.
Tauilo Loto
Food is not what I had expected. Need working on Customer service especially and majority of the food is lacking flavour. Other than that I do not recommend Happy Days for my family or friends as an outing.
Zilly
Food is worth to try u won't regret ..I actually enjoyed with my family, the only problem I got was unfriendly staffs bt overall a must visit
Shannon Manukau
I actually liked the food here i went at 5.30pm enjoyed ever bit have to try for yourself as everyone is different as my nephew did not like it the staff were ok could have had smiles on there faces the venue was spacious where we were sitting the signs are a put off all around inside restaurant also the venue could need a makeover but totally loved the food expecially there salads, chips, meat balls and meat yummy!!!! Might come back will see.
Jrdy
Food is pretty average like most of the stuff the salads kinda taste off or are a bit warm and the cutlery is a bit dirty need to improve on this other than that a good place to take the family
Fare Henry
I found the food flavorless and would not return here. Nothing was seasoned. The desserts were very bland. It is very cheap but once you taste the lack of quality in the food you will know why. The vibe of this restaurant felt quite dirty aswell..
Ula Tipene
I love the idea that it is 'just down the road' and that it's a buffet for all the family to enjoy celebrations of all sorts. The food and the atmosphere at Happy Days is one of relaxation with a comfortable atmosphere. The staff are helpful when needed but as long as everyone knows where the food is, then staff are happy to let us be.
Murray Field
This is the second time we went to this place for lunch on a Saturday. Now, I like my meats, fish and chips, potatoes etc but this time the food was disgusting!<br/><br/>I saw the guy slicing up the roast pork (which looked ok coming off the bone) but then he dumped the meat into a tray which was full of what I assumed was water but it was dark brown with bits of meat floating around in it! I can only assume that the fat and oils etc (think heart attack!) from off the meat were in there as well. I managed to quickly grab some meat off the top of the pile before it hit the yucky water! The next time I went up he did the same to the ham off the bone!<br/><br/>The roast potatoes and chips were just alright but the batter on the fish was very oily and coming off in bits!<br/><br/>The salads and desserts looked ok but average at best.<br/><br/>Now the place is run by Asians who walk around as if they are the Gestapo! You can feel their eyes burning into you as you try to eat your meal before the waiting staff, who are equally as vigilant, come to you just as you are putting the last bit of food into your mouth and say "are your done?" before snatching the plate out from under your knife and fork!Ā <br/><br/>The amenities are quite disgusting and no better than your average public toilet!!!<br/><br/>The "restaurant" seems to cater 95% for the local clientele so people like me feel very out of place - I couldn't wait to get out of there and I'm never going back!<br/><br/>It doesn't take a genius to realise this place is simply a money making machine contributing more than it's fair share to the obesity problem in this country.<br/><br/>p.s. After I left my teeth began to hurt from all the fat and crap I had just consumed!
Sissybelle
Had dinner here last night 15/07, roast meat & cooked ham were nice, good selection of deserts but the rest of the food was pretty bland & didn't look too appealing, young children were hanging around the buffet area with no adult supervision so were helping themselves to whatever their little hands could reach, the icecream fridge was situated right under a leak in the roof so rain water was dripping onto the icecream, on a good note the wait staff were friendly & cleared the tables quickly but I wont be spending my money here again, very disappointing considering my first visit was quite enjoyable.
Danny Vaafusuaga
COCKROACHES EVERYWHERE!!!!<br/><br/>Disgusting, customer service is way below the depths of hell, I seriously cant imagine why people go here after what we all witnessed man, my group of 50 came out extremely pissed off. The food had no love, flavour, oh wait there was flavour.. an expired flavour! Too many cockroaches, bloody makes me sick!!!! Last time we are going here! Would rather go to Buffet king, Valentines or Gengis! Their way better now! Waste of money!
Debra Anne Vatuvei
I honestly got to say that happy days food is so boring and not good at all! This will be the last time I'm ever going to happy days! I hate what they cook and the seafood is plain and basic and ice cream is just boring
Kathmandu Eater
This place used to be good back in the 90s, but recently it's really gone downhill.<br/>The buffet area where all the roast meats are situated is too cramped since they added the steak BBQ section, because people are queuing for their steaks, creating a choke point.<br/>The general hygiene of the restaurant is appalling. Utensils are falling into the trays of food. As soon as this happens, the entire tray of food is compromised. <br/>The dessert section is disgusting too. Ice cream scoopers are all grubby and not regularly replaced and just in general, ice cream splattered all over the place.<br/>There needs to be a staff member constantly going around maintaining the buffet area at all times.<br/>Plates and utensils aren't cleaned properly. The toilets are run down and filthy.<br/><br/>I think the manager has been there for too long and just doesn't care anymore.
Vinny
Spotted baby Cockroaches on some of the desserts UGH! One lady spotted one in the lumpy custard and a new custard was replaced almost immediately. Im thinking it was the same custard ewww! Atmosphere, its out dated, ive been here before years ago and i really enjoyed the food and customer service. Now?? Nooo way! Burnt chicken and mashed up, Seafood was smelly so i could see why the flies were there! The old woman with the Billy T James smile and black short hair chewing gum behind the bar was so rude, she needs to be fired! And the dumbo with the bald head next to her behind the desk! Rude customer service, old smelly food with cockroaches and flies! Are u kidding me?!!! No wonder why you had a D-rating before! I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN THIS RESTAURANT AGAIN! I will be referring this to the council!!!
John Mack Whare Ware
I liked it here. Ate a few months back. Nice food, nice environment. I mean for a buffet, what do you expect, some people are so uptight and critical, I personally enjoyed dining here very much
Keith Eades
Family Restaurant. I must admit after reading several reviews I was not really looking forward to eating here, especially with a large group.<br/><br/>As buffet food goes it was OK, there was quite a choice on offer today from roast pork and ham, to noodles, fried rice, meatballs, beef curry, and a variety of vegetables. The samples I ate were cooked OK, but were a little dry and only warm. <br/><br/>There was quite a choice of desserts too, ice cream, Pavlova, jellies, bread and butter pudding. Although I did not try myself.<br/><br/>The general view seemed to be OK for buffet restaurant with as much as you can eat, some fellow diners got through more than two mains and two desserts.<br/><br/>We did check the hygiene cert before eating, A grade is now displayed.<br/><br/>I was put off my the gaming area, as I did not think it suitable for a family type restaurant.
Veralina Lomikona
Was at this place for a small wedding gathering. Food looked gross, the way it was presented it looked like the food that was out for buffet had been sitting there all day!! what put me off is that i saw a fly flying around the food!! i lost my appatite.<br/><br/>The waitresses that goes around to pick up dirty dishes have no manners either to ask if we were done with our food cause half of has not finished eating but yet they come and just grab our plates as if they were rushing us to get their shift over and done with, typical zzzz.<br/><br/>There is an asian woman working as a waitress who never smiles at you when she serves you, how rude, argh :P<br/><br/>I rated 2.0 just cause i kind of enjoyed my desert lolss,Ā <br/><br/>Hopefully my family wont have any functions @ that place, i'll be left driving to Mc Donalds after lolss.
Janet Pihigia
Hi finding the location of the restaurant is okay I'm after the menu and prices of the meals. I've been here with a couple of functions with my family. I am after prices thakyou<br/><br/>Kind regardsĀ <br/>Janet

Very very disgusting paid $35 for just me and my 3yr old daughter for shit service and disgusting food... Gave my daughter the runs and a bad tummy bug that she is still recovering from spewing up and diarrhea -_- will never go back to this shit ever again... so angry and mad!!!!!
Harai Sanelivi-Smith
Went there friday for the first time... was a bit worried as the outside looked a bit drab and read a few bad reviews but was pleasantly surprised... food was great for the amount I paid. Ā  Good selection... seafood chowder wonderful... poached fish in milk very nicely done... would have like more desserts... loved the custard... fresh seafood... all the ice cold water I could drink... my son drank a whole jug so definitely worth the money. Ā The staff were nice... waitresses were a bit over zealous and removed half eaten plates while not watching... lost two bowls of jelly this way. It was a bit crowded with tables being to close and people having to squeeze but it added to the great atmosphere of fun ... YES i AM GOING BACK... AND TAKING THE WHOLE WHANAU... can afford too and know that everyone will get a good feed... thanks happy days

All u can eat crap. Came for a breakfast with my staff. Food is rubbish. Eggs were sitting in heaps of water. Bacon was rubbish. I could go on. Do not come here.
Charlotte
Food was ok, staff NEED to smile more wouldnt go there to often
Patricia Duffy
Horrible food, horrible hospitality from an owner who is so disrespectful and rude with how he handled things and how he kept swearing at my family. Nothing in this buffet was fresh,it all tasted like left overs heated up again and the way they handled the food and when they topped up,never did I once see them change trays or the scope for the ice cream. Its just disgusting and its amazing they even pass an inspection. Never again will I ever dine at Happy Days with standards that are so poor,Not even worth the money and I can't even stand looking at it when I drive pass. Never again.....
Phoebe Day
been there lunch time...yum..<br/>love the food just to much.. :)
Jacqui Edwards
Well after reading the reviews I was a bit weary about going to this restaurant, but I thought no I will find out myself what the restaurant is like. I am so glad I did.<br/><br/>1st time diners, my family and I. It was beautiful. Seafood chowder went down a treat, admittedly I had 2 servings. A wonderful variety of food, awesome service from host, waiter and waitress. I will definitely be returning. The week before my family and I went to valentines, just my opinion, happy days has more of a selection. Yum keep up the good work happy days.
Muriel Pavihi
The food was yummy but I dislike the spacious between you and the other table. It was a bit of a squeeze with the other customers that were there on the day. It needs a play area for the kids not a gambling place where kids can see there parents gamble or even play. It's not really nice especially the sight of the kids when they get told off for not going in there or not allowed. Play area would be better.

Our family have often celebrated special occasions over the years at Happy Days however after our recent experience, I doubt whether we'll ever go back. One staff member in particular was rude and her bad attitude ruined our family outing. As regular customers, most of my family noticed the 'one with the attitude' but chose to ignore her as we all enjoy the good food and relaxed atmosphere. But, last week she made it obvious that we were cutting into her schedule by pushing past members of my family &amp; standing next to our table with her cleaning products with her hand on her hip &amp; concrete facials. She's clearly in the wrong industry!! It's a shame because most of the staff are quite friendly, especially the older Asian man who works at reception. To the manager at Happy Days, I suggest you address this issue as soon as possible otherwise you could lose a lot more of your regular customers.
Samson Turner
The reason I gave average is because I visited the restaurant twice.<br/><br/>I had breakfast there yesterday morning 09/05/14 and I will not have breakfast there ever again. Awful! <br/><br/>Dinner on the other hand, was amazing. I'd say either up your game with your breakfast menu or just don't have it.

Looking at all the negative reviews on here are quite shocking considering I've been here several times in the past and have enjoyed it!! A wide variety of yummy food and I will surely pick Happy Days Restaurant over Valentines. <br/>OK so updating on my experience having breakfast at happy days <br/>yesterday for the first time and would not recommend it at all juice is referred to cordial and budget bread still in packaging milk still in plastic bottle at cereal section Happy Days needs to improve there breakfast buffet otherwise lunch and dinner is Good <br/>hope this helps your decision.

Great selection, great value and good service. Went on a Sunday and on the menu sizzling steaks, fry eggs and more.<br/>For all those who gave bad reviews they obviously wanted their value for money meal at Happy Days to equal that at the Ritz.<br/>For someone to write about only low class impoverished people were there, (someone who thinks he should be well known) shows what a snob he is. There are many many ethnic groups in South Auckland, and believe it or not, all human, with a large Island population. If you want the food of famous chefs then go elsewhere, but go to Happy Days if you just want a tummy full of yummy fare, a great place to eat.<br/>I am a 14 year veteran of Happy Days.

I have eaten here on a few occasions and I don't have a problem with the food. The food is always fresh and replenished quite often so I don't have to worry about missing out on a certain dish. I would like to add that the dessert and cheese platters are excellent and I would not hesitate to eat there in the near future.

This is a great place to eat... Good value for money and the food was nice, no problems with the food just the waitress doesn't smile lol but won't stop me from going back... And remember that people should not judge a place cause of 1 bad experience that another person had. Everyone has a bad day sometime and personally I think if your gonna bad mouth a restaurant maybe those people should open up a restaurant and see if you can do better.... Happy days is a good place to eat

Me + 1 ate here for breakfast yesterday &amp; I was sooo appalled!<br/>They only had 1 type of milk, no trim or skim. They didn't use a jug - they just put that 1 bottle of milk on the buffet. No juices - only 1 cordial. The hot food was yuck, they used the cheap bacon that looked like ham. Bread was put on the buffet in its own packets - and it was the budget brand. Fruits came straight from the can. No fresh fruit salads/melons/pineapple. No yoghurts. Cream for the porridge was put in a little bowl. The hot food buffet looked like shit - the Chef was useless at refilling her buffet and making sure it looked appealing. Had to ask for real butter as they only had the margarines out. This was the 1st time I've had an ugly buffet brekky. I'm used to paying an extra $5 for a real buffet brekky at my job. I know what to expect and this is way below par. Never having brekky here again

Went there last night and have been before. The food, prices and the staff courtesy is excellent unless you are a nit picking ignorant person which is the category I would put Martha in &amp; JemmaJ who has done 107 reviews on different places then would this not be the opinion of someone with an axe to grind? Impartial? I think not! Ultra picky, I think so! Moaning slag?Oh yes!!! and then the rest of the whingers that are happy to complain about nothing just like her.<br/>Ran out of prawns and asked if there were more and also a piece of blue cheese for the cheese board and they were there instantly and this was on a night where we had to be seated in the private functions room as the main eatery was full.<br/>They have an A food rating, not a D as someone else commented and if you think you can do better for the price then do so and give us a bit more room at the food counter, rest assured you wont be missed!!!! And if you think someone was rude to you then look in the mirror, these people have to deal with 1/2 pissed unreasonable people all the while trying to be diplomatic, doing their paid job and looking after the 99.9% happy contented patrons! Myself and my wife would be included in the 99.9% having been there well over 40 times, and will continue to do so! Why change?? Get a life and stop moaning.<br/>Highly recommended by a very happy customer.<br/>Signed<br/>Graham Brown, Papatoetoe

I visited last December, but have been there a few times before and are going again this month, I find that it's a great place to eat and the prices are very reasonable, last time I went I ordered a drink and when I tasted it I didn't like it and told the waitress and she didn't charge me for it which I was very grateful for every time I go someone is having a birthday dinner and I think it's great that families can get together there and celebrate birthdays, it's a great atmosphere and certainly intend to keep going back there.
Martha
To be blunt the food is average, bare minimum actually however the service was friendly but I would not go back again because I believe I didn't get my money's worth, I would gladly pay more money for better food if they offered it but $20 for tasteless food is what you get for a cheap dinner I guess. If you want a semi cheap buffet that offers delicious food I highly recommend the Wellington Bar at Waipuna, it satisfies every time!!

We went to Happy Days for my nephew's 5th birthday on a Monday night. We were seated next to a large group who firstly had a church service, then started singing?? I mean if we wanted to hear the preachings of god we could have gone to church ourselves? I have nothing against religion but find it a little rude to basically have a service about god while we are having a family dinner out? I wonder how people would react if they were Muslims? Not only that but we were placed basically right next to them? Why weren't we advised they had a big group booking when we had booked a good week in advance or at least sat us a good distance away? Food was average only upside was good variety of food and waitresses were very nice and friendly. Bit disappointing though when I pay $100 for a family dinner and have to listen to preachings of god ??
Jesse James .
Awful. Just plain awful. Although the deserts were nice, the little cakes. Didn't get any icecream as you had to lean into freezer, where plenty of people had been before.<br/>Lots of 'clean' plates were dirty.<br/>Just seemed unhygienic. $20 was far too much for what we got.

We went to Happy Days a couple of days ago (7 Sept 13) for a family catch up with my siblings &amp; their families etc. We thoroughly enjoyed the food selection, the seafood &amp; desserts were lovely, no probs there. Atmosphere was buzzing, there was a function on in the private area but that was no issue with us (altho the mc was talking through a microphone) so we couldn't help but get pulled into what was happening. All went well until I went to pay the bill, and we were charged for 9 bottles of beer instead of 8. I was sure the 2 boys only ordered 8 between them and told the lady (cashier) this but she didn't accept that so I said I'd quickly go check with my hubby who said 'yeah he definately ordered only 8 bottles for him &amp; my bro in law' which still the lady didn't accept. We continued disputing/disagree-ing for a good 3/4 mins (with around 4-5) people standing in the queue behind us waiting to pay their bills) yet the cashier would not give in and she was ready to battle this out (as I was)...anyway I said "how do I take this further?' to which she replied "I've told you, there is no mistake - when bottles are ordered they go straight to the tab of the table ordered from)...to which I kept saying 'yes, but we only ordered 8 and someone has incorrectly added another to our tab' but obviously she wouldn't accept this. Finally my hubby could see this was not going to end (for a $7 bottle of beer) so he came up and said to her "I am the one who ordered the beers for me and my bro in law, I ordered 8 NOT 9" to which she then proceeded to open her till, pull out $7.00 and hand it to me without any apology, just a 'here's your $7.00'. I think her total lack of customer service skills let the whole team down at Happy Days that day. For a blinkin' $7.00 bottle of beer she was ready to battle it out with me, in front of customers and then to not even apologise I think is disgusting. Great food &amp; atmosphere but please do something about training your staff re customer service/how to treat paying customers. We would like to think we would visit there again but not sure as that experience was a real put-off.
Donna
Amazing food, actually attended their like 4 years ago, it was a pleasureable moment and a happy one. Some people need a reality check, because it ain't all that bad, you will get unhappy customers where the food may not be up to their par, or just fussy people. My personal experience was great, and desserts are lovely, enjoyed the roast and vegetables during the time of an Uncles 60th birthday, the atmosphere was great, because happy people are the true ones that make it feel at home. Try it for yourself, do not rely on other peoples opinions, be your own critic. Enjoyed it, loved it and would love to eat their again.<br/><br/>HAPPY CUSTOMER

Me and my family go there alot and each time the menu is slightly different but we totally enjoy the food and so does my son aged 4 and daughter who just turned 3...every place has their ups and downs for sure but i definitely rather pay to eat here then valentines any day...you also get at least two hours eating time if its not busy otherwise definitely over an hour...the staff are great and of course your gonna have the odd trainee there..so what... as long as the food tastes good? that's all that matters lol...

Well all I can say is What the Hell...... okay last time I knew, was that if you wanted to go to a restaurant, you had to book before going in. Apparently HAPPY DAYS doesn't make you happy when you book in and go in the time you were meant too, and they tell you that they are full??????? what a load of s@#$.... I advise you to clean up your restaurant s%@# and do something about it.
Danielle Oakes
Although the restaurant provided a good range of food the quality was very substandard. The staff were friendly but the overall atmosphere was quite underwhelming. The prices are reasonable but then you get what you pay for, on the positive side i did find a few things from the dessert table that was edible. Will not be returning anytime soon!

My family and I booked a table for 10 on the 1st of July 2012, we were advised we have to wait but we arrived on time. We found a table few minutes later, we had lunch, I ordered drinks, we waited for our drinks, I asked one of the staff for our drinks, he said he will check with the lady at the counter. I waited and waited and sign of any drinks. I walked up and asked the lady at the counter, for our drinks. She said, Oh !!! I am sorry, I will bring them to you shortly" I told her we have been waiting for a long time, I asked one of the staff but no one seemed to know what I was talking about". Anyway, the drink was given to us towards the end of our birthday lunch. We paid, walked out and I told my family, this is it, we are not coming back here, the service was poor and the food is bad. But then I changed my mind again this week, but then I saw a comment about the manager of Happy Days and how he dealt with some of the customers... that changed my mind again, so I have made up my mind - we are not going back to Happy Days Manukau, Auckland. And are they going to say anything about what goes on their website? C'mon Happy Days Manukau, time to wake up and cook fresh food.
Chris
Why do some people have a vendetta against this restaurant? One person had a bad experience and is now going out of their way online to spread the word? I had a good experience and staff were good. I am not going to be offended or have my night spoiled if the waitresses don't give me a smile! You don't know what it's like to be under pressure and overworked. Customer service is one of the hardest jobs out there. I dare anyone to try it and see if they can smile all the time. Food is not that great quality but you are getting what you pay for. When I went there it was packed, people were happy and stayed their until closing time. The desserts are great.

We celebrated my son's 16th birthday at Happy Days last night and were pleasantly surprised with the food, such a wide variety and it really was excellent. The service was outstanding we had 18 people in our party and dishes were constantly being cleared away and the staff were generally awesome to deal with, all in all I would recommend to all.
Murphy
Dined there last Sunday with my daughter. So disappointed with their food. The variety was ok, but quality was poor. All dishes looked like people just poured into trays without any care. <br/>After I paid the bill, I noticed their food hygiene grading is D!! a big 'D'.<br/>My godness, what hell their kitchen would look like? Would never go to there again

I favour vegetarianism but do use marine cuisines on a frequent basis. Happy Days offers a tremendous range in both marine options, salads, fresh veges and fresh fruit. There seems to be no end to any resource they offer on the menu and the food is cooked and prepared very well. <br/><br/>I have used a range of restaurants in the Auckland area over the last 25 years of visitations but in the last 10 plus years have made Happy Days my most popular stop in the evenings. Have never been disappointed and there is always a happy staff /client ratio mingling within the warm environment. Very pleasant indeed.

I must say with all the negative feedback I was concerned for our booking for Fathers Day - So glad we decided to go - Lunch was enjoyed by myself, hubby and daughter - The food was lovely - Seafood chowder was devine, Hot Ham that melted in your mouth, Butter Chicken so tender and creamy, Hot fresh Buns and the Pavlova was scrumptous - I only have 3 small comments - I wish there had of been Raw Fish but thats just my preference :) - The Rice should be over with the Butter Chicken etc rather than at the Hot Pork and Ham station - And the Man/Chef carving the meat needed a lesson on politeness - Overall it was a pleasant Dining experience and we shall be back - Breakfast Buffet/Brunch this weekend - The Staff were very friendly and quick to clear plates/glasses - <br/>Thanks for a lovely Fathers Day :)

I was the person that was sworn at! <br/>I would not even rate this place (I had to for this to be posted.)<br/>This person, Bruce Wong, had to be held back to avoid attacking me.<br/>I admit I did swear at this person out of frustration, this was for not listening to his Floor Manager and accusing my friends/family for eating food when they did not touch an ounce (Apart from the cupcakes and cake I brought in for my partner). <br/>This totally killed my partners night, obviously embarrassed for this occurring and something so uncalled for.<br/><br/>I swear I would have dealt to him but I am not that type of person. I cannot believe that a person who is the OWNER could speak to a paying customer like that, especially after everything was already discussed with the floor manager who I have to say was lovely. <br/><br/>I will NEVER return to this restaurant and I will let all my friends, family, colleagues and anyone who asks for a opinion on this place not to go here.
Tayna Ropati
Disgusting!<br/><br/>Food and Service was average but night seemed to be going alright up until the end...<br/><br/>The Owner Bruce Wong is a Violent prick! I watched/overheard in absolute shock while he threatened a customer and told him if he stepped foot back in his restaurant he was dead. The owner was screaming at the guy in front of everyone calling him a f&amp;$@head and s(%*head.<br/><br/>The owner then followed the guy out the door and attempted to attack him! I couldn't believe my eyes!!<br/><br/>This was through no fault of the Customer, he went to pay for his groups meal and the owner tried to charge him full price for a few people who had not eaten but had just turned up to give their birthday wishes. The customer asked the owner to check his camera's as those people had not eaten. This was backed up by the floor manager. Confirmation from the floor manager just seemed to send the owner over the edge...and for no huge reason! Crazy. I will never go back there again and I would advise anyone considering it to think again.

Last experience with Happy Days wasnt so pleasant, but thought maybe the service has changed since my mum and brother insist on us coming here for every family event. But fortunately THANKYOU to all past customer reviews Iam so glad to conclude I am not coming back to Happy Day for my daughters 1st birthday.<br/>THANKYOU for warning me of their bad service and inconsiderate empathy to customer satisfaction. By the sound of things, it seems management does not know anything about customer service. I am glad I don't have to pay for service and food that does not equal the value of my money. Seriously your rating should be 0/5.

We booked a few weeks early for a birthday celebration for approx 30 people. We were told Fridays were Steak nights, so we decided this would be a good day. We arrived at 5.30 the steak was not cooked yet. At approx 6.15pm I asked a lady staff member where the steak was, she then asked the chef when was the steak ready he replied when I am ready, at approx 6.25pm I went to the desk and said when we booked they said it was steak night where is the steak. The man said he would sort it. At approx 6.45pm there were signs of steak cooking. Our guests had finished eating. The cheesecake was not fresh at all rather yukky. We were not offered neither an apology or a discount. And we spent over $640.00, come on Happy Days when you say it's a steak night then you should serve steak. This is very unfair.Or are the customers not important to you once they are there. Not a good look. Carol s

Terrible food! I was disappointed with the standard of the food tonight. I went to Happy Days with my family of 6 to celebrate my daughter's 15th birthday on Monday 7 May 2012. Food did not taste fresh. Another customer and I were talking about how the bread rolls were stale. It tasted like it had been sitting there from the weekend. The tuna pasta salad had no taste - like it wasnt fresh. Ham and roast beef and roast pork all ok. The other hot food wasnt very appetising.3-4 of the dishes all looked the same - stewed meat in gravy. The desert was terrible. The bread rolls for the soup stale. But the worst was the cheese platter. A block of cheese looked like it had been sitting there for a week. It was stale. I pointed this out to one of the kitchen hands or chefs when they came out. I asked, How long has that cheese been sitting there? He replied, since 5.30 in the evening (It was probably 7pm when i asked him). I replied 'I don't think so.' and he just shrugged his shoulders. I voiced my concerns to the woman at the paycounter. How long have you guys been managing this place? I asked. More than 10 years, she said. I told her, 'The food is not of it's usual high standard ' and explained about the cheese. She wasn't too interested in what i was saying and instead kept telling us how much we owed for our dinner. The last time I ate here was about 2 years ago - and on that occasion and many others before that - i have had no complaints about the standard of food. But tonight - the food was terrible. My family and I will not be eating there again. We were originally going to go to Buffet King down the road from Happy Days but it was fully booked. Now, I know why.

One word....<br/>BLOODY DELICIOUS!<br/>First time dining at Happy Days Restaurant with my family for my niece's birthday. Staff are pleasant and hard working. Used plates are cleared promptly and dishes are nice and hot.. No offence, but waaaaaay nicer than valentines by far! Haven't come across a nicer serving of butter chicken and there battered fish was devine! You get your moneys worth plus waaay more. Can't get over how delicious the food tasted! Did not at all taste like seconds or last nights leftovers. BEST pork crackling I have EVER tasted! Food was 10 out of 10 from me and my family! Will surely be dining again! <br/>Well done for impressing us Happy Days! =D
Rosa
I was really disappointed. We took some guest for dinner, and because our family are regular customers to this restaurant we decided to book it a weeks notice. We were so excited to shout the family dinner and disappointed that my cousin found a dead fly in her salad and because there were 13 of us we were divided to have 2 tables. Our table was the one my cousin found the dead fly and the adult table we did not tell them about it, not only that the fly that was found in her food did contaminate the whole salad and everyone in the restaurant was eating it. Disappointing thing was we told a staff member and she said, OH... ill be back, 2mins after she came back and just said sorry. so our whole table stop eating but waited for the adults to finish eating. <br/><br/>We got home i told my mother about it and she rang the restaurant and no answer, so the next day she rang and she spoke with the manager and she said like it didn't matter to him and just said he will refund only the persons money that the dead fly was found in. <br/><br/>Because i was working the Saturday my mother called and also Sunday we went in on Monday morning and we did not a whole refund, all we want was to see how he would handle it, so he asked what was it that we wanted? we said we wanted a whole refund just to test him out, and the so "called manager" just argued with me and said he doesn't care because they have regular customers, who says that when a customer complains about finding a dead fly in their food and we are paying for it. My mother said to him we are here to sort this in a good respectful way then us standing up and showing the whole restaurant that in each everyone's meal had a dead fly in it and he said why didn't i show it to everyone, how stupid is that.. he does not count as a manager. when i said what if the person dies from your contaminated food and he said i don't care and he thought that i didn't hear what he said, and so covered it up, by saying he will refund the money. when i requested to see the owner and straight away he said they don't wanna talk to us. He counts on regular customers only to make money but never considers the health issue. If only these regular customers knew, there will be no more Happy days. If i were the owners fire that Indian management and replace with a more qualified manager, who respects customers. Me and my family will never go there again.

We went to the lunch buffet here a couple of years ago and it was quite good so decided to take my parents there last night who were visiting from overseas. <br/><br/>Wow, we just couldn't believe how much its gone down hill since then. A lot of the food was tasteless and seemed like left overs from the last few days and the fish and chips had a cardboard texture. All the staff looked overworked and trying to put a brave face on.<br/><br/>The other problem was the noise! The restaurant should impress on some of the obviously irresponsible parents there to keep their kids under control instead of letting some of them run riot around the place.<br/><br/>If you are looking at going out to celebrate a birthday or other special occasion, don't come here. Consider something more upmarket like KFC or McDonalds for starters.<br/><br/>Happy Days Manukau is now only fit for the casual stop in shorts and jandals on the way home from the beach.
Katrina
I can't believe the level of service or lack of at Happy Days has changed over the last year or so.<br/>You have a stupid way of maintaining customer loyalty.<br/>The food tasted like it was left over from the day before. Whose brilliant cost saving idea was that?<br/>The dishes were dirty and worst of all the service was pathetic.<br/>Who wants to be served by a guy chewing gum or a chick who touches her nose every so often?<br/>You will find that sooner or later your car park is going to be empty.<br/>I don't even want to give you a star.
Rush
This is the first time I tried lunch buffet there,I would say just cold food, appears to be left overs from the day before (especially pork),overall very few varities, nothing in chicken or lamb, difficult to choose what to eat.Not worth at $18.90 at all, reception staff unfriendly also.Never ever try this place, alternative go to another similar place in same road, much better services, better food quality and value for your dollar.

Absolutely Disgraceful !!! I was part of a family group that went to this place yesterday, to celebrate a special day ... Couldnt believe my eyes on what I saw - it was like the food was the left overs from other restaurants - it felt like we were given the scraps to eat. Happy Days Management/owners - you should be ashamed of yourselves!! The only saving grace is that your serving staff, although young, were very polite and hard working. Also, the young boy waiter is the best I have ever come across... well done to him !!<br/>I just have one question for you - would YOU eat the food that was served yesterday?? I dont think so ... and my family and I will not be back either. Shame on you !
Tracey Gumaka
Terrible Terrible never ever will I dine again at this place. how does a place like this even have the ability to open its doors. Had breakfast and my partner and i were horrified kitchen staff were in and out of kitchen making what looked like a sandwhich really when did the level of service drop to such an all time low. The coffee machine spat out black goop and the cutlery crockery and basically anything that needed wiping down was dirty... you need perspective the gaming room in great nick and i noticed this from the entrance way. Shame on me for not walking out we both were ill that day but couldnt be bothered collecting samples to get tested... Will never go back please dont go there and the ratings on this site are obviously prompted... Valentines has lost its pazzazz but are miles ahead of this place....MILES hundreds of MILES.. and i had to select a rating so envision that 1 star is really just a technical issue I rate Happy Days Manukau MINUS 100.
Vinod Lal
We rang to reseve table for 4.Two of us are vegetarian and we requested for vege fried rice. The manager who took the call, named Aneet, was very rude and unhelpful. His reply was,we dont need people like you to come to my resturant. His manner was digracesful and humilating.<br/>Definitly we will not be going to this resturant anytime soon.
Alegna Onalam
...we celebrated our 24th wedding anniversary there...we drive from glendowie to manukau because i saw this place when i was a doing my nursing student placement in manukau super clinic.....me and my husband was so excited...upon arrival the staff were polite, the foods- heaps! but the taste ???? awful....its like day olds already !rating 1 star for polite staff and clean toilet......don't go there !
Penny
Went for b'fst...it's cheap and you get what you pay for. If you are a buffet expert then I wouldn't recommend this place, but if you want simple and cheap and don't mind eating Pam's or Budget brand foods, then this is the place for you. Cereal was a little stale, the juices are cordial hehehe and the mushrooms look nice but it has a gravy taste to it. Just don't expect too much, you'll see the plastic milk on the bench and the loaf of breads still in it's plastic wrapping hahaha.
Minnie
Been there a few times, lunchtime when I told the waitress my glass was dirty, I saw her telling the other waitress about my complaint,if your going to talk about someone, make sure they're not looking! Breakfast, ew the spagetti meant to be the size of a worm and bland, hubby said its mixed with another brand. Dessert, how long has it been in the fridge its lost its colour and the cordial, is that coloured water? Not impressed and a family member is having lunch there shortly for an occasion, invited me and my family, but not going to waste my time and money....Ive suggested they go elsewhere...Teller is quicker to take your money and thats the only time I see them smile! Quality of food sux

Breakfast yesterday with my family. All of us not happy at all.Very poor service, attitude of staff, presentation and varieties of food etc.tasteless bacon, runny eggs(waited 25mins for tray to be re-filled),yukk sausages, budget spaghetti and fat drenched hashbrowns, cordials NOT juices. If you still choose to go there?you are wasting your time and money. No quality or hygiene.staff came out was wiping around the trays of food with a filthy az tea-towel which flopped into the spaghetti.oh my gosh what has happened there? 7 years ago we use to dine there and it was a joy and delight.I say "stay away"
Christine
hi I'm a regular there because i know that it is better than valentines in manukau, what Ive found is the food is great, when you go for breaky lunch or dinner exactly the time of serving, its no point going 2 or 3 hours after serving cause the food would sit there for too long and not be freshly cooked straight from the oven or preparation that's the key to people dinning out, i have no problem except the service at the front desk needs more people.esp when its a full on nights or days of bookings, the teller and bar and waitress are multitasking and cannot handle the work load this is mis management and not their fault, also with profit they make why dont they hire more staff to service and co-ordinate the restaurants their food are nice but if there was a food critic dining there they would def get a bad rating.i have seen the food as nice at times and some food are too blan, but it beats valentines in manukau,Lincoln, and pakuranga, valentines in Lincoln 3 weeks ago has dropped its quality of food i didn't eat my moneys worth which pisses my partner cause he said i waste my money.

This restaurant hasnā€™t changed. My very first visit to happy days didnā€™t like the food. about a year later attended private function, and still the same. Sea food tasted like they were from the last two days. Roast Beef smelled funny and so did the coleslaw..Terrible, overall the tables were nice and clean staff barely have time to smile at you.<br/>Like the name of the restaurant but got to work on food so that customer will leave Happy!!
Alison
I was invited to lunch at Happy Days and I will never return and my friends will never return either.<br/>The chicken nibbles I had were blood red, another friend would not eat the sliced pork as it had a funny taste, another friend had battered fish with no fish inside, the plates were not clean.<br/>I have been there quite some time ago and was not impressed then, but as I was invited gave them the benefit of the doubt<br/>a BIG mistake
Rena
Happy days!!wow...first time diner at Happy days it was yummy!!!lol went with a couple of friends and had a good time..food was great..service was a bit slow..but didn't affect our visit..can't believe i ate heaps..planning to have a wedding lunch there so hope to give y'all 5 stars next time...but well done think you guys are way better than Valentines and the price is not bad at all...thanks!!
Pam
We have been to Happy Days many times. <br/><br/>The staff are always very friendly and helpful especially as the restaurant caters for a wide cross section of the community especially families. <br/><br/>The food, both hot and cold, is varied and delicious enough to satisfy all tastes and the tables are kept regularly cleared.<br/><br/>There is plenty of off street parking and if you feel so inclined, you can also try your hand at their gaming machines after your meal!<br/><br/>Look forward to our next visit.
Nater
i dined here with three friends, one of which was in NZ for the first time from south africa. we were sat down, and i noticed that the tables had art paper on them instead of table cloths, this seemed very poor, after waiting 15 minutes for someone to take our drink order i went to the cashier and informed her, 5 minutes later she came to take the order. the quality of food was extremly poor, absolute rubbish! i was looking foward to desert and when i saw that the fresh fruit platter had run out i asked a chef who was leading against a door chewing gum if there was anymore and he simply said "nah dont think so ay"<br/>i will never go there again and recommend that you dont either
Tracey
I must admit that for the past 3-4 years, we've avoided Happy Days due to poor publicity, but last week, my daughter and I dined there one evening. There were only a few other diners there, which initially I thought a bit ominous, and admittedly the waitresses were on the quiet side, but the food was great, much improved from the last time I had been there. Also, by the time we left, the patrons had increased by at least 20, so they were late diners!. In particular I was impressed with the seafood selection, and the roast meats. I had read a previous comment about somebody wanting to compare your menu to Valentines, well I can tell you now, that your selection is far superior to theirs!, and they used to be great too. Anyway, we will be back on a regular basis. I'm keen to try the brekkies again too, as I recall they used to be nice.<br/><br/>Good luck, and keep climbing that ladder back up.

"Happy Days"<br/><br/>Despite of what had happened in the past I can say you've pretty much out done yourselves with the menu, buffet and your front line staff. <br/><br/>My friend and I had dined twice this year at your restaurant and had found the buffet menu quite appetising. The service was excellent, the atmosphere was great, will be sure to dine here again and also recommend you to family, friends and work colleagues.

To the Happy Days Team,<br/><br/>After dining at Happy Days on the 8th of Feb for the second time(for a 20th birthday)i must say that i was quite underwhelmed with the service that was given to us. <br/><br/>After we were allocated to our table we were not seen by a waitress for drink orders, my mother in law had to walk to the counter to ask for some jugs of water(which by the way she carried herself with no assistance from the waitress who followed behind with a pad and pen)..<br/><br/>The waitress made no attempt to sell any drinks and we were forced to yell our orders across the table, the drinks took 10mins to arrive and we noticed that a majority of our glasses were not clean.<br/><br/>During the night no attention was paid to our table and the plates stacked up quite fast, when someone did come to clear our table she thought it would be ok to reach over a toddlers head picking up knives and forks (not the safest thing to do) and when she was walking off she lost her balance and smashed a plate. While picking up the plate she also managed to knock a full plate of butter chicken onto the shirt of my brother in law and did not even attempt to help get him cleaned up.<br/><br/>There's no question the food was great, but i think my brother would have perferred it if he had eaten his food rather than wear it...<br/><br/>shy PRITCHARD
