Great spot for quick, pick-up sushi 🍣 Very small place but there is a great selection. Rice bowls, futo-maki, uramaki, inari and hot teppanyaki (though likely just oven grilled). The fish nigri looks a bit sad - thin square slices of stiff pink tuna, but the tamago is very good. It’s self service - you can even put your own topping on (as much or as little wasabi as you like). The staff are really friendly and the place looks clean - lots of outdoor seating but none indoors. The rice is well made and the prices aren’t too bad considering it’s in Victoria Park Market.👌

Would give 100 stars if I could!! I was after some authentic and delicious Asian food for my birthday and this place hit the spot perfectly! The best Mapo-tofu I’ve ever had in my life and a very unique Chashu fried rice that will have me going back for more in the future. The smell of the wok fire wafting from the kitchen as the chef whipped up my meals was divine. I even asked for a takeaway meal after I finished so I could give some to my family. Forget about all those fancy Asian-fusion restaurants with pitiful portions and crazy prices! Come to Matsu for your Asian cuisine cravings and you won’t regret! Even better, you can get their food ubered to your house if you are in central Auckland.

Me and my partner went close to their closing time but they still served us so well. Had freshest salmon donburi and delicious teriyaki chicken yakisoba. Great price and taste 👌

My office is right next to the place, so naturally this is my go-to place for lunch. Firstly because their sushi is amazeballs. Secondly because they've got plenty of outdoor seating, and the menu has been expanded to include stuff like curry too.

Matsu Sushi is my favourite place to get food to have with kava just around the corner. They're bento boxes are amazing and rolled sushi is usually available up to about 5pm before it's sold out.

Ordered via uber app. Quick delivery. Change of menu - tempura was cooked just right and shrimp was tender. One of the best I had. Mapo tofu was unexpected but ordered it. Again consistency was excellent. Not extremely spicy, just right. Would come again.

Came here after a free trial workout at the nearby gym, thought it might be a good idea to eat something healthy. Their sushi are alright, rice is a bit dry not as dry as I expected which is a good thing. I've had bad experiences with sushi's with very dry rice, ended up choking on the spot embarrassing myself in front of everyone. But this store was ok The staff were very busy, due to the fact that it was lunchtime and many city workers are often around looking for some place to eat. Going inside, it's got that traditional Japanese feel with the display of sushi's. Mostly I enjoyed eating outside where you can see the nice views as well as enjoying the meal at the same time.

The place is quite tiny but they have the seats for outside, so you can enjoy the exotic western style to have lunch with. Since the place is quite small there are not many service they can provide, pretty much just like eat and go but its good to go back and try again.

빅토리아 마켓에 우연히 들렸다가 맛보게된 스시집 정갈한 맛과. 푸짐한 양으로 스시집중에는 손꼽고 좋은 느낌을 받았다. 특히 분위기가 좋은 빅토리아 마켓어서. 더욱더 맛있게 느껴진것 같았다. 한적한 오후에 야외 테이블에서 즐기는 스시는 꿀맛 같았다.

Reliable and trusty local sushi place at Vic Park Market. Always has a good selection of lunch sushi available and also a range of katsus, don buris and udons at great prices! Ambience and seating a bit lacking (go to Haru no Yume around the corner if that's what you're after) but the convenience and value make up for that. I ordered the fish katsu and had already started eating the tender meat when I was told they had given me chicken by mistake (didn't notice, but that's to be expected from an amateur diner :-) ) and would I like to replace my meal? Was so tasty that I didn't!

I rate this place a solid 4.5 for quality sushi/Japanese food. The sushi is good and fresh. The have a selection of fried things to try like chicken kebabs and dumplings. As an added extra they have nice homemade sauces you can help yourself to. The staff are very friendly and on my second visit I was give a free dumpling with my order My favourite is their cook to order menu. I havent tried everything yet but I have tried the BBQ Beef and BBQ Chicken. They are really nice and a large portion size for a small price. Go for the BBQ beef!!!!

Almost every weekday I am here, they know my order and they are so friendly. I've never been made to feel more welcome at a restaurant before. Happy to adjust any meal to suit dietary requirements. Cheap compared to some sushi places and it taste good too. There isn't really too much to say, it's good food, lovely people and well priced. Give it a go if you're in Victoria park.
