Review Kl Kitchen - Auckland Central

The laksa here is soooo good ! We had a quick lunch here and the food did not disappoint! the flavours was so good and authentic and the noodles were very nice and chewy. would definitely recommend! seating can get a bit squishy because it’s a food court shared with all the other stalls at the food court.

If you are craving for Malaysian food at an affordable price, this place would be highly recommended. Located in the food court of China Town Burswood, Auckland with lots of parking and sittings. Owner originated from KL. Menu has a variety of selection.

Dry wanton noodle is authentic, when you bite the wanton noodle, you will know how different is it compare to non Malaysian restaurants. curry laksa is not too bad but the noodle is not the usual yellow noodle and the Mee Hoon also different. Price is affordable.

Only tried the wat tan hor recently, was exactly what I wanted. I’m a Singaporean if that helps

Craving laksa. Wasn’t disappointed . Rich laksa flavour, nothing too fancy just a yummy soup base with tasty flavours. Service: 2/5 Food Quality: 4/5 Food Quantity: 4/5 Presentation: 3/5 Environment: 2/5 Price: $10-$15pp

Seafood laksa is delicious. Able to manage spiciness of food with freely available chillies and sambal sauce.

My favourites are the laksa and the BBQ pork and wonton noodle soup which I would eat every day if I could. Friendly service and fast.

Great place for cheap Malaysian food in east Auckland, the portions are huge too. The restaurant is located inside Chinatown so it can get quite busy during lunchtime in the weekends.

The fish ball noodle soup had so many fish balls and actual pieces of fish, I wasn’t sure if I was able to finish it because there was so much in the bowl. The chicken in the nasi lemak was very flavourful too.
Cheap and delicious food! The laksa soup tastes so good but chicken that came with bone might put some people off. So excited to try other dishes from them.

An amazing option for the food court and it definitely beyond food court standard in terms of price and taste. I got chicken laksa and the portion is huge! It looked so good and the broth tasted really good as well. Chicken came with bones so some people might be put off from that but for me it’s not a problem. So excited to try other dishes there and hope they are nice as laksa.

My second visit here after a long time Was craving for Singapore Curry Noodles. The presentation with the half egg on top looked yummy. Soup was oily but it has a bit of Singapore curry taste. Not too bad but I am very put off by the boney and overcooked chicken pieces. The chicken must had been cooked in a whole big pot and reheated over and over again till the meat looked black. If only they consider to use boneless chicken pieces as toppings. It’s ok to come for a quick bite especially when you are dining alone. Price is reasonable for what you get.

I absolutely love the food from KL Kitchen, possibly because Malaysia cuisine is similar to Singapore food and it taste like home for me. I have ordered countless times from this restaurant. I used to get lunch from every week when working in the area, pick up in 20mins. Food was served fresh and hot. Price was affordable.

My personal favourite: Wan Tan Hor, Curry Laksa(MUST TRY), BBQ Park & Noodle Soup
Not my favourite: Lor mee (Looks and taste very different from what I am used to)

I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone craving for Malaysia cuisine.

Really good outlet for quick cheap eats. Fried kway teow, chicken laksa, hor fan, and satay are all worth trying. Nothing special but still cooked well, prices and portion sizes are well matched.
Staff are always happy and friendly.

Have tried a few dishes now , kind of your standard Malaysian food court food, nice and tasty but not super amazing , enjoyable and cheap and good friendly service the time

The food used to be good but now the prawns are cut into tiny pieces and the young tall guy ( chef) looks very unclean with his dirty black finger nails and his hair is full of dandruff!

Located within Chinatown’s food court. KL Kitchen was surprisingly bush for a Monday lunch, another interesting observation was the diversity of the patrons.

I went with a chicken laksa, this is my standard dish for all Malaysian establishments and KL Kitchen served up a fantastic bowl of chicken laksa. Generous amount of chicken, small potato bites, tofu , egg and bean sprouts, the taste was authentic and guaranteed to make you sweet out at least 2 kgs of water weight.

Overall just a great chicken laksa that will keep you salivating for more.

Showstopper : Chicken Laksa but I also saw a lot of people ordering the wantong, I assume that’s also a crowd favourite

Overall Grade: B+
We come here regularly. Its in the foodcourt of Chinatown in East Tamaki. This is my favourite place for Nasi Goreng. My wife loves the Curry Chicken with roti. Delicious food.

Who would've thought that one of the best tasting Seafood Laksa in East Auckland is located in Chinatown food court. The place may be a bit grubby but the dishes from KL Kitchen is totally worth the visit. It has an authentic Malaysian taste and the price is reasonable.

I come by here for their Hokkien Noodles. The other items on the menu are ok but the Hokkien noodles here is really nice. It has the subtle flavour of pork rinds and a really tasty sauce.

I'm always on the lookout for a great Malaysian place and this place is one of the best. Everything on the menu looked delicious but I decided to go with the Roti Chanai and chicken curry and I was not disappointed. Roti was soft and crunchy. Chicken curry was delicious, a bit on the small side and I would def go back to try everything on the menu.

My colleague and myself went to this premise for lunch ordered and paid. Awaited our meals in the dining area opposite the establishment. After 30 minutes I got up as I noticed the chef was having a break. To find our order had not been processed! We had limited time by way of compensation we were offered a free $1.00 can of drink. This is an insult. I demanded our money back. This establishment has lost a potential returning customer.

It's my first visit to the China Town Food Court. (The close-by Paragon Restaurant is gone & replaced by a Vietnamese eatery.) We had mixed seafood laksa & clay pot crispy noodles with chicken. Taste was just OK, but quality of food was absolutely terrible. (Food - 2/5; Service - 2/5)

Long time Survivor of this Chinatown,s food court scene... quite a few have come and gone here ...but kl kitchen keep on keeping on which is a testament to the quality of food they serve up here very flavorful Malaysian Cuisine, we've probably tried 90% of their menu.. but we usually stick to our favourite dishes curry chicken on rice,,, chicken or beef laksa soup and the hannonese chicken rice Ain't Half bad either.... you would be hard pressed to find better tasting dishes at any Malaysian outlet here in Auckland... and we've been back here time after time when we have the craving ... a double bonus here apart from the tasty food on offer is their loyalty card every 10th meal is free...:-)

I have only been here once as a friend of mine is fond of the Lomi noodles and i also work around the area. The staff were great and friendly and the servings was quitebig for a cheap price. Overall, would definitely try again another time and i recommend this place.

KL kitchen is some serious stuff. If you can look past the dodge seating area inside Chinatown or takeaway like I do, KL does some of the best laksa's and wantanhor's in East Auckland.

Meals are literally made within 10 minutes and they're delicious. Portions are a good size. Well priced at $10-$12, there's not much to lose :-)

KL Kitchen has great Malaysian food , very cheap and good portions . The Rendangs , Roti Canais and Mee gorengs I've had were very good.
I get takeways from them often and are as good as most Malaysian places in Auckland.

My bf comes here nearly every week - he LOVES their laksa. The laksa was more authentic than I remembered but not super authentic! Still overall taste was great and flavourful and very well priced ~$10 for a big bowl

Authentic Malaysian cuisine that reminds me so fondly of home. Their menu is brilliant. It's easy, clear, bright to read and clearly laid out. I wish all menu's was like KL Kitchen's.

I particularly enjoy the BBQ pork and wontons on noodles, a very tasty dish but small in portion. I find that their appetizers are expensive for the small amount you get however once again it is very flavorsome and tasty. There are some dishes that come out with bigger portions than others which I find to be disappointing as that demonstrates inconsistency. Nonetheless, the service is great, they are very warm and welcoming and pay very close attention between the lines.

They have a range of condiments to choose from at their counter and it is a help yourself service, they are very inviting on this note.
