Review Quad Kitchen And Bar - Auckland Central

Amanda Carpenter
The staff were really friendly and helpful. The food was great and we had a grab one voucher so it was also very cost effective. The restaurant has a busy walkway next to it so that was the only thing letting them down.

Top class 3 course meal. The food was as divine as good as top 10 The Sugar Club. The seafood melted in mouth. The meat fell off the bone and the desert so yummy and refreshing. Will be revisiting to try the other menu. The staff amazing and so professional looking

The service they offer is great, nice friendly waitresses and staff, they always refill our water and asked us if the food was good. I accidentally dropped my fork once and the waitress was kind to give me another one, Nice attention to detail. The food was alright, the entree and the dessert are amazing but the main can be more improved, I ordered a lamb and the lamb was a bit on the cooked side, and some parts are more cooked than the other. But overall I recommend this restaurant, the food are pricey but it's worth it when there is discount or when you have a coupon or voucher.

Excellent service, delicious meals. Not typical style restaurant, but the food and service is better than most "typical" Auckland restaurant. Definitely go again.

Very friendly and proactive staff, food is good and a nice relaxing space for people going on dates or a group of friends and family having a meal. There's a restaurant section and a bar section right at the opposite end of each other. It can get very noisy as the elevator is right next to the restaurant and lots of people checking in and pulling their luggage.

We had the Grab One voucher for a 3 course meal & parking. There were good choices for each course, friendly & efficient staff, our compliments to the chef. Our food had depth of flavour & sufficient size that after dessert we were nicely full. Definitely going again! Forgot to get photos but food beautifully presented.

We were given a 3 course dinner voucher as a gift. Both of us were very impressed with our meal. Each course was beautifully presented and a taste treat. Lovely staff and the free parking was an added bonus. We will definitely be back and definitely will recommend to others

The place is easily located, valet parking is next to the front door, there isn't much air flow into the dining area and it is next to a hallway (to the hotel?) Other than that which most people are complaining about the food is amazingly great. I was given a huge steak and my partner chicken, we tried the shrimp which was nice, the lamb, which was also nice and the deserts were great. Other than the above mentioned things, this place is great for price (If you use Groupon).

After reading one negative review I was a little unsure of what to expect. As it turned out, I thoroughly enjoyed every moment that I spent at this restaurant. From the moment we arrived we were given 5 star service. I would certainly go back again to enjoy their excellent food and the helpful staff that made it an enjoyable evening for both my wife and I. I would definitely recommended it.

Enjoyed the dining. Selection of meat cuts not up to expectation. Entree portion very little.

A hidden gem in the CBD. What a delightful restaurant this is. We visited for a birthday dinner and our entire experience was fantastic - from the taking of our booking, the waitress who served us, the cosy ambience of the restaurant and the chef's outstanding (and delicious) output! I will definitely be going again and again!

Main course steak was excellent happy hour drinks from 5-7pm . Service was attentive but not in your face. Small space but worked well. Friendly staff.

Big no. <br/>Bought vouchers $70 for 3-course + valet parking thinking it will be good. Menu had changed, so the things we decided to order weren’t even available. <br/>Pretty sure half the food was from pak n save. <br/>Entrees- prawn cutlets (very greasy and hardly any taste) and some pasta dish which was average taste wise but very small (literally 3 pieces) <br/>Mains- lamb- extremely over cooked and mint sauce was straight from a store-bought bottle (I know this because I have the same one at home). Market fish- fish had no seasoning, was cooked alright but extremely bland <br/>Desert- pancake with bananas (wasn’t too bad but nowhere near as fancy sounding as described in the menu. Chocolate fondant- theres suppose to be chocolate oozing out of the centre of the cake but there was just a block of chocolate cake ? Lava cake at dominoes is much better <br/><br/>Even valet parking was terrible because they pulled the handbrake up so hard it took me 10mins to get it down <br/><br/>Overall, would not recommended <br/>

Went there with a groupon deal, just as well full<br/>Price would just not work here . <br/>Two of us had rack of lamb and prawn entrees, steak mains , poached pears , Black Forest cherry cake. The entrees were ok lamb rack was tasty , prawns average , steak was ok not bad not great not restaurant quality , deserts ok . Food wise it’s all ok , just not great and not of a restaurant standard , at half price it’s fair value .<br/>Staff really try hard but felt like a rush to turn over tables as many times as they can .<br/>The fact it’s a pokey side room separated by a screen from the elevator , is awful you cannot pretend that this with one side just screens by the elevator is a restaurant ! . The yelling shouting tour group in the middle of dinner was very annoying .<br/>At Groupon 1/2 price cost its still not good vslue, but really it’s not restaurant quality and the pokey side room is tacky .<br/><br/>Do Not Go <br/><br/>

Nice quiet place to go to with friends. Used the GrabOne coupon to go here which also comes with valet parking (takes away the stress of parking in town). Great service, food nicely cooked

Excellent and attentive service. Beef was excellent, lamb entre delicious. Seafood hot pot had only a few mussels and very watery in a coconut flavourless broth. Salmon in filo pastry, tasteless.<br/>Desserts not worth $1.00.<br/>Bought a $65 Groupon, was only really worth a $30 meal for 2.<br/>There is much room for improvement, but for now...don't waste your time and money.

We bought a three course dinner for two people for $65. Staff were friendly. Chicken was dry and over cooked. The triamasu cake was dry too. I wouldn't go back again. This is definately not fine dining. But for the price I paid the food was ok.

Pleasantly surprised at the restaurant after reading all the very bad reviews. We got a grab one deal for 4 people - 3 course meal for each person. <br/><br/>For the entrees we had the pimento mushrooms, seafood hot pot (which looked like a chowder) the lamb and the shrimp with guacamole. All the dishes were very good portion sizing for entrees (on the larger side). Only downside would be my shrimp entree was a bad take on a shrimp cocktail and I felt it wasn’t the nicest tasting dish. <br/><br/>For the mains 3 of us had the salmon in filo and another had the Moroccan chicken. Again sizing was massive and very filling. The salmon dish was really tasty and can’t fault it. the chicken dish was a tad bland, but otherwise still a good meal. <br/><br/>For dessert we ordered 2 tiramisu cakes, the poached pears and the sticky date. Desserts were nothing special but were a nice way to finish the meal. I wish my sticky date was heated up though as that is one of the appeals of the dish. <br/><br/>The service was attentive and friendly. One of waitresses was very on to it, making us aware of the beef jus on the lamb (which we couldn’t eat) which we wouldn’t have known otherwise. <br/><br/>Very surprised compared to the reviews but glad it was a good experience.

Well I was high expected for this restaurant cause it's in a hotel. The staffs were friendly but we waited for a long time after we ordered. Maybe because we were the first table? Sad for us that our main meals were all cold. How can you image the cold steak and lamb for dinner?
Dimple Vagal
The food was very average. The staff were friendly and but a bit impatient and the service was pretty slow. Recommend this restaurant for comfort food, good portions sizes, but definitely not fine dining.

So I was recently taken here by my boyfriend for my birthday. The staff here were so friendly and kind, in particularly the manager Anil! My boyfriend had asked them to put a candle in the cake, but they had somehow forgotten. When Anil saw it, he immediately took it to the kitchen to put the candle in and began singing happy birthday. They had also written "happy birthday" on the plate as well. He was very considerate and friendly. <br/>I had ordered seafood hot pot for my entree and marinated chicken breast for my main. My tiramisu cake was lovely. The chicken was slightly overcooked but that seems to be the only downside of this place. I really really enjoyed.

Thank God they were vouchers given to us, I would never spend 10c at this place. Upon arriving, parking was an absolute mess - there were no big signs telling you where quadrant parking was to begin with and there was no one outside to guide us either. So we had 2 vouchers that got us 2 entrees to share, 4 mains and 4 desserts. I will admit that it was my fault that I ordered a seafood entree and I did not enjoy that at all but the entree was worth $16 yet it had the 2 smallest mussels I have ever seen, 1 scallop, 1 tiny piece of fish, TINY piece of squid and 1 prawn all in a cream sauce. The mains... I feel sick even typing about them. We ordered 2 butter chickens, 1 steak and 1 asian pork chop. The pork chop was god awful, not much flavour but when you could actually taste something.. yikes. The steak was alright, closer to well done instead of medium rare, which we asked for.. I personally had the butter chicken. The basmati rice smelt and tasted like (in some chunks) air freshener. There were 5 small, over cooked pieces of chicken in my bowl and to really top it all off, the curry itself was just soo tomato-y. Personally, if you’re gonna add a curry to a restaurant menu, you need to know how to make it properly first. I couldn’t finish it and I’m thankful I didn’t because it made me feel sick afterwards. Finally, the dessert - the best part of this experience. We all ordered tiramisu which was alright but priced at $16 each.. for a tiny piece of cake? It tasted exactly like the full loaf of tiramisu you can buy from your local pak n save (I’m not kidding) which is $5 or less. I highly recommend you DONT go here, I thought it was an absolute joke. If you want to get your moneys worth please go elsewhere. No wonder they are resorting to grab one.

I do not recommend anyone dine at The Quad Kitchen and Bar which is part of The Quadrant Hotel. I purchased a voucher the day before we booked and attempted to dine at Quad Kitchen. It was my husband's birthday so a special occasion for us. The deal included four mains, four desserts and valet parking. <br/><br/>When we arrived the parking was a shambles outside the hotel. No one greeted us and when we went to the reception desk to get the car sorted, we were treated like second class citizens by the front of house staff. I asked when my car would be moved and where the person was who would get it sorted as I was forced to park in an awkward position due to the numerous other cars racked up waiting to be parked properly. I was told very rudely the person was busy dealing with a separate matter and he would get to it when he could. <br/><br/>We ordered our mains at 8:10 pm and the first main arrived at 9:10 pm. The other three mains arrived five minutes later. We waited for an hour to get our meals. No explanation was offered for the delay. During that time while we waited, not once were we asked for a second round of drinks or offered complimentary snacks. My brother had to approach staff for the second round of drinks. <br/><br/>Our food was below average to say the least. We ordered three lamb dishes cooked medium. The lamb was overcooked for all of us. The meat was tough and chewy. My husband had the chicken and risotto. The chicken was hard and dry and the risotto had very minimal flavour. <br/><br/>By this point we were all very unhappy. We did not eat our meals as they were inedible. We were offered to have our meals cooked again however would you be willing to wait any longer for another meal? I asked to speak with someone who could resolve our issue and I was told he had no contact details for a manager. So we left hungry and unhappy with our drinks not charged for. <br/><br/>Once again, I do I do not recommend anyone dine at The Quad Kitchen and Bar particularly if you are celebrating an occasion.

We arrived at 7pm on the dot. Our deal was 3 lots of a grabone vouchers for a 3 course meal worth $55. We ordered our food at 7:15pm with 3 extra entrees. Which then lead to 3 of our entree’s coming out till 7:45pm And the other three at 8:10pm. Then after complain twice, our mains came out at at 8:30pm. First of all, the menu stated carrots with the lamb, 1/3 dishes had carrots this is unacceptable! Everyone’s meat dishes were over cooked. Dessert ended the note on a high! So overall if you want lamb for dinner you will definitely get meatloaf!<br/>Alex Wong

Using our GrabOne vouchers, we parked using the valet parking and headed on over to the reataurant.<br/><br/>It was quiet but quaint. The deal was one shared entree, two mains and two desserts per voucher (we had two vouchers).<br/><br/>So for entrees we ordered the Chicken Chambola and Chicken Vietnamese Springrolls. Both tasted amazing and looked beautiful!<br/><br/>For mains we ordered the Beef & Reef (which we found delicious), Italian Chicken Breast (presented beautifully and tasted equally the same) and the Pork Belly (with a delicious pork meat but the crackling was absolutely disappointing! It was rubbery instead of crunchy and had no flavour!).<br/><br/>For dessert, we ordered the 3x scoop ice cream, Apple Pie with Ice Cream, Chocolate Cake with Ice Cream and Cheesecake.<br/><br/>All in all, the service here was great, food was just above average but I do see plenty of room for improvement in the Pork Belly section. Definitely worth coming here if you are from out of Auckland as it is conveniently near the heart of Auckland CBD.

Had dinner here with my family, the staff were rude at times. Prices were crazy high for what they actually give you. I had the Seafood Trio for entree and it looked amazing but it wasn't enough. For main I had Beef & Reef, my steak wasn't great, it was over cooked. It was very hard to slice. I can cook better than that. Very disappointed I must say. The food looked good, but it stops there. There was just mushrooms and spinach that goes with it, does not go with the food tbh. Also the sauce is too watery and can't really taste it. Got to try the Mudcake, the cheese cake and the Apple pie for dessert, they were average. Overall, it wasn't great. Good thing it was only a grab one voucher we used, as it will not be worth it actually paying that much for average food.

Worst dine out experience. we bought a grab one voucher with friends, after 2 hours waiting for main course, My chicken  was really hard and dry. looks like cooked in a microwave. I told waiter that the meal was uneatable. 2nd meal came, however it gets worse.  I ordered butter chicken. It was tomato sauce from the jar. it was really disappointed. 5 of us ordered apple pie, first one comes burnt, then second time was under cooked apple pie, then they burnt the rest of apple pie. they offered us ice cream, but we don't want to stay there any longer. 3 hours, I didn't get to eat main and dessert I ordered, None of us were happy. MacDonald's gourmet burger and apple pie's are much better.

Wow, what can I say. Thought I got a good deal on grabone. But no, if it's too good to be true, it probably is. As I drove past Pullman Hotel and arrives at Quadrant, I lost most of my expectations right away. I mean thats cool, you get what you paid for. Its my bad that I thought this was something else, something better.<br/><br/>Anyways, all good, we arrived at around 7:35pm and I parked my car out front and went to the front desk with partner. I left my keys at the counter as they had valet parking. Whos to guess that this will become the best part of my evening. As we walked towards the restaurant area, I was immediately greeted with disappointment: I did not expect the restaurant to be so runned down. It immediately reminds me of Gordon Ramsey's reality show Hotel Hell: this place qualifies to be on that show. I walked up to the entrance of the restaurant and was greeted by wait staff, who after confirming my booking just ask me to choose a table and seat down. Great ok so I choose a table and then sat down. First thing I notice was how oilly the table is: it didn't help that they have a glass table top. The chair I sat on had uneven legs, which actually kept me entertained for the rest of the night as that was my second highlight of the night. As we settled into our environment, the waitress came over and offered us some water, which is great. We quickly picked our food as we were quite hungry.<br/><br/>Their selection of food was rather small but I was ok with that. We end up choosing seafood trio as entree, steak for main and apple pie for dessert. We would have like to try their cheese cake but unfortunately that was unavailable. FYI I get quite ticked off when food on the menu is not available for no particular reason, so the score up till now is probably a 2.5 and continues to fall. The waitress took our orders and went to placed the order. Not too long after, she came back to inform us that the kitchen has ran out of mushrooms that was meant to come with the steak so she was wondering if we are happy to have the mushrooms replaced by potato mash. At this stage, we didn't really care anymore so we just went with the potato mash offer. Not too long after , entree was served. The seafood trio consisted of 1 decent size shrimp, 1 scallop and 1 tiny piece of calamari. Nothing special here but it was actually decent: Food was hot and taste was good, probably because we were quite hungry. So far we are maintaining a 2.5. The main followed and this is where the disappointment quickly caught up. Steak was cooked to medium rare as per our request, but lacked colour and char on the surface of the steak: the whole thing looked like a home made meal to me. Then came the surprise of potato mash: I am very positive that the mash is made from powder sachets, like the ones used by KFC. Instead of a buttery and smooth experience, I get a chalky and powdery texture in my mouth. That's the point when I just gave up. I quickly finished the steak and asked for dessert to be served. At this stage I just want to get it over and done with. When the apple pie was served, no surprise there: the apple pie looked like something you can get from a supermarket's frozen section. I quickly raided the ice cream on the side and was surprised to find chocolate chips sprinkled on top. That was the highlight of the dessert. <br/><br/>In summary, atmosphere was poor, food was poor, service was ok (even though I find the wait staff a biy confused throughout service), value was actually ok given its $50 for a 3 course meal for 2 people + valet parking. I give a final score of 1.5, for the valet parking. Will I recommend: I would rather spend the $50 at KFC and will get more enjoyment out of it. Final words: B*tch please, my mama can cook better than that 👎

Cold food. Terrible atmosphere. Smelt like the king prawn was off - one of the less better choices for dinner and will not be going back. Cheers
STRADS
Seafood Trio (entrée) with grilled prawns, scallops & squids looked good, but the taste was below par. Beef & Reef (Scotch fillet & king prawn) as main was even worse, with terribly tough meat. Slow braised lamb shank was better. Chocolate mud cake, cheese cake, & apple pie were good - at least finished on a high note.  (Food - 3/5; Service - 4/5; Ambience - 2.5/5)

Brought a 3 course meal deal for 2 off grabone for my husband and I and was pleasantly surprised! The cob loaf looked, smelt and tasted delicious and was paired well with the onion marmalade. The Lamb shank was falling off the bone, super tasty and had a good portion size and the Italian Chicken which my husband ordered was just right. The classic quad apple pie and chocolate mud cake was a great finish to the evening. It was nice to not worry about parking either. The staff were super friendly. Great evening.
Caity
The plates were chipped. The food was below average, especially the cheesecake which looked and tasted like it was out of a box from the supermarket. The staff were nice, however, the overall experience was an unclassy restaurant with an awkward atmosphere.

Okays so I got a voucher off grabone before I read the reviews... I read the reviews and was so disheartened.<br/>However.. on arrival the staff were lovely. The place was clean and ambiance was fresh.<br/>Next to Pullman this humble place had a lot to offer. Ordered a curd hung chicken to a shank to an apple crumble..<br/><br/>The lamb was falling off the bone and the food wasn't overwhelming.. it was just right.<br/><br/>We had to wait for the dessert a bit otherwise everything was lovely. Will definitely visit again.
Sophia
Food was average, my pork belly was a bit dry and the steak sauce my partner had tasted weird n was so much it covered any sides on there. Apart from that i would give 10 stars if it were possible for the MUSIC!!!! the awesome playlist or CD you have which was the ultimate highlight!! Tried shazaming it however speakers were out of reach. Was rythmy with a techno twist and rather unique to anything ive heard before. Well done team!

Me and my husband went there 4 days ago for our wedding anniversary, we had the Groupon voucher for a dinner and we had breakfast too the second day during our stay at the Quadrant hotel. The food was well presented, tasty and good amount. The service is amazingly good and food comes quickly, staff members were polite and I asked them for some ice they got it quickly. At the end the they surprised us with a beautiful plate with mud cake and ice cream on the top with candle for celebrating our wedding anniversary and that was very cute. I would definitely come back again.

Improved services. Well done team. Keep up the great work. I think you guys have achieved alot in the last few years

mains were simple medium rare steak is not a hard task but to screw it up twice is a skill in itself the chef needs to find a new line of work food was garbage service was acceptable

Me & my partner came for dinner on the 24-06-16 for my birthday.. We had a groupon voucher also which was shared entree, 2 mains & 2 dessert's for a good price. & straight after he purchased it he had seen alot of bad reviews about the food, service, location etc. But because we had purchased it already was too late to turn back. Any way we came to the restaurant thinking the worst, but when we got there we were greeted by a nice indian man from the bar (very friendly, even had a good convo with my bf), he asked us to sit in the bar & wait cause our table wasnt ready (which was fine with us), he gave us drinks, kept coming to see if we needed anything then 10mins took us to our table. The lady that took our order was also very friendly, felt alil bad cause i couldnt quite understand her but we got there in the end lol.<br/>So we ordered & we decided to get the Cob Loaf & hummus for our shared Entree, it took around 5-10mins which was cool. It looked amazing & smelt even better & myslef & my bf must say it was amazing, one of the best garlic bread we've had, taste was great & was presented nicely. 10/10.<br/>Our mains came out 10mins later, bf got the beef & reef, & for myself the italian chicken, both of them were well presented. Partner did say his steak was a little over cooked then what he asked for but still enjoyed it very much, it was still very tender & very nice. My chicken was cooked perfect, wasn't dry & all veges were cooked great! Both of us agreed that all flavours on the plates went well together, great portion sized, nicely presented & definitely made us full (which was awesome). Over all we both enjoyed our mains very much. 9/10.<br/>Desserts we both ordered mud cake, with vanilla ice cream. My partner enjoyed his that much he finished his in like 5mins lol. I also enjoyed it but because i was too full i couldn't finish mine 😢 .. The cake was alil dry in some parts & might of needed to have abit more ice cream. But was still very tasty. 7/10 ..<br/>Moving on, the only down fall was the space it is tiny but in saying that it didn't stop us from enjoying our night. The elevators didnt bug us at all either!!<br/>All the bad reviews worried us for nothing, Our night over all was definitely a great night, staff were very friendly, food & service was great, & both me and my partner enjoyed it, we're glad we ended up coming to try it out for ourselves, & we've recommended it to our family & friends. Thanks for making my birthday a good one. Will definitely be back again ☺☺☺

We went to the Quad kitchen after seeing it on Groupon, this was A three course meal. Didn't really like the arrangement of the restaurant.. It's a simply a tiny corridor parted into two with a thin curtain that can be seen through..And the restaurant is opposite the lifts.. People were walking pass us the whole night.. Not a good atmosphere.. The food took ages to be served.. Only two of them were serving all of us, plus we could also see them taking meals for rooms service.. The Vietnamese style roll which was the entree wasn't that great, However the mains - the market fish and the Italian chicken breast was quite nice; the apple pie was average.. Felt like the waiters didn't really know abt the dishes as much..

My husband and I brought a coupon from Groupon for a cheaper dinner. The Quad is a nice place to start with. The place is nice, the food is 3 stars to rate (so yummy! From entree to dessert), the waiters are friendly and very good customer service. Its a very romantic saturday night at the Quad. Highly recommended!

We went there tonight and I must say we had a good time. The food was very very good and we went for the three course set menu. The food came out in a nice timely manner. The waiting staff service was exceptional and the best I have ever had in Auckland in a very long time. The only draw back is the tables are placed close to the elevators which can be distracting despite a curtain like barrier. Nevertheless we had q great evening and it was truly service with a smile and warmth.
Laura Is Hungry
The best garlic bread I've ever had, the rest was mostly average. The location feels a bit awkward and it was quite cold where we were sitting.
Darshita Shah
Trust me you do not want to eat here. Food has no taste and no flavor. If you read the other posts on the ambience and service it is below the average standards. Friendly staff and would apologise for all that was promised over the phone in relation to the food. Do not waste your time, money and most important experience by going to this place. Thanks.

Been to this "so called restaurant" last night... Was very disappointed after reaching there.. I had a grabone voucher which i thought would be a value for money as they were offering 3 course meal... <br/>Can u imagine a restaurant with just 5-6 tables n on top of it service was very slow , the staff was friendly though..<br/>I ordered risotto for entree which was a big disappointment.. Well one of the staff member offered me chips in place of risotto as i didnt like it... That was very kind of him..<br/>For mains me and my husband ordered beef and reef and another dish was lamb rump.. Well my husband liked his steak but for me the mains was a bit disappointment too.. Portion was very small well meat was cooked properly so that was the only good part about the meat... <br/>Then comes the turn of desserts, we ordered apple pie and chocolate trilogy... Apple pie was alright but chocolate trilogy made me sad again...<br/>For me ambience is very important n ofcourse meal too but u judge a place by its decor which was nil here... <br/>Will never ever come here again.. Such a big disappointment it was...

Went here for dinner last night with my partner. It is probably the strangest restaurant I have eaten at, it's just two small rows of tables right by the elevators so the whole night you have to listen to people go by and have them watch you. <br/><br/>The service here is REALLY slow. We arrived at 5.55pm no one else had booked yet. Took 10 minutes to get water and menus and another 10 to actually order. We ordered the Cob Loaf to share, chicken for me, lamb for my partner, apple pie and chocolate trilogy for dessert. <br/><br/>It took 20 minutes to bring out the Cob loaf, was a bit ridiculous seeing as all the do is slice a pre made loaf and put garlic butter on it. It did taste very nice though. Soft in the middle crusty on the outside with the perfect amount of garlic butter. <br/><br/>Another 25 minutes after we finished the loaf our mains came out. The chicken itself tasted beautiful, the vegetables that accompanied it were in seasoned and bland. Also the Pumpkin purée was just a little spoonful underneath the vegetables. The lamb wasn't nice at all. It was covered in fat, very hard to cut/eat. Everything was drowned in jus. <br/><br/>Dessert was the most disappointing for me as my apple pie came out black on the bottom. It was so over cooked that I couldn't eat the pastry. My partner liked the chocolate trilogy, though it could have done with less sauce over it. They did offer me a fresh apple pie when I went to pay but that's a little too late to be honest.<br/><br/>Overall I won't be coming back because of the wait time when it was just us two in the restaurant most of the evening, lack of service until the end of the meal, and the food is not up to scratch.
Julie Arnold
We came here on a groupon. The staff were very friendly. We ordered and the food came out with not much waiting time, the food was just beautiful. I wasn't feeling well and couldn't get through my steak and wanted a doggy bag, but they said on the groupon I wasn't allowed, am not surprised as it was very cheap, but still thought it was a bit mean.<br/>Would very much rate this overall experience though very highly as the food was gorgeous.

Dont go here!!! Service horrible and food is terrible! Cheap and nasty. Run by indians and really bad quality. Just dont go there...........

We came on our 20th Wedding Anniversary with a grab one voucher for 2...totally enjoyed the food ...absolutely divine....from the entree of a seafood selection...lamb rump..for main...chocolate trilogy for dessert...Beautiful ambiance in an intimate quaint restaurant. The staff were very friendly and attentive...Thank you to you all for a very pleasant memorable evening...we are definitely coming back.

Was staying here as a guest in the hotel. Amazingly friendly staff, attentive but not annoying. Always had water. We ordered the cob loaf to start. Was toasted perfectly and the toppings were delicious. We ordered the pork belly and the lamb. Both cooked to perfection, flavoursome and played appealingly. We finished with the apple pie and chocolate trilogy. Apple pie was the better dish. Only recommendation is change location of dining area away from lifts and also add more awesome meals to menu! Anil in the bar made us feel like royalty from the moment we arrived for our meal.
Rohit Nagpal
we ordered Chicken Roulade and sea food platter. It was very Delicious and we said thanks to chef and staff.<br/><br/>Very Delicious food, very friendly food and very fast service.<br/>Highly recommended place :)
Irish Eyes
Disappointing 3 course voucher dinner. 2 slices of very tasty garlic bread was counted as one course. We chose the Chicken Roulade with Brie and Prune stuffing for main. Steamed vegetables accompanied it. The Chicken itself was succulent and bursting with flavour, however the plates were cold and the meal was lukewarm. Returned it to the kitchen where it was reheated. The Apple Pie did not taste homemade in my opinion, and was disappointing especially as there was no desert fork, only a spoon. We chased the pie and ice cream around our plates. No waiters were around for us to request one. <br/>The setting is quite basic. A narrow eating area set alongside the Hotel walkway to the lift. It is opposite a small bar which had very noisy patrons in it. <br/>Parking was difficult to find so we parked in the attached Wilsons car park and paid $18 for 1.5hours. In spite of the pleasant staff , we would not return to this place.<br/>I have upgraded the review from 2 to 2.5 as management have responded to the comments and said that the restaurant will be relocated to a better position. This will give the dining experience a better ambience.<br/>

Like many of the other reviews found for this restaurant, I had come here using a Grabone voucher as I thought it was a great value for money.<br/>It was a Frday night when I arrived with a friend of mine. I was surprised to see how quiet and tiny the eatery actually was and the fact that it was all set out in front of the elevators made it quite an unappealing environment to dine and wine in as visitors and tourist groups were constantly passing through.<br/><br/>The Grabone voucher allowed for a cob loaf to share, two mains and two entrees/desserts + wine/beer. Between the two of us, we chose the beef and lamb for mains, and the chocolate trilogy and apple pie for dessert. The cob loaf came out in less than 5 minutes which was great as we were starving, similar to garlic bread it was enjoyable and nothing to complain about haha<br/><br/>The mains came out around 25 minutes later and was very well presented on the dish with a generous portion of meat ( excluding the king 'prawns' which was actually just one prawn sat on top of the steak).<br/>Beef: 7/10, just your average steak served with some jus, mushrooms and wilted spinach. The beef was cooked perfectly to medium rare as we requested, but the dish was missing a wow factor and tasted quite monotonous. For it's price, you could definitely get a better steak elsewhere, but still well cooked :)<br/>Lamb: 5.5/10 My lamb was actually really chewy and had a lot of fat around it which was quite disappointing. The sauce it was served with was quite delicious tho and the little honeydew salad on the side with mint yoghurt was devine, however they were quite stingy on the portion of the salad and by the time i was halfway done with the dish, there was only meat left which was quite boring to eat. ( i.e. increased side portions would be a big improvement). The kumara chips served alongside it were nice tho<br/><br/>Dessert time! the chocolate trilogy was probably the favourite of the two dishes as the apple pie was really dry and had a poor portion of apple filling (p.s. most of it was raisins haha). The pie was drenched with custard and served with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream on top which made it moist enough to swallow I guess, but not too impressed by this dish.<br/>The chocolate triology however, was pleasant to eat and was well balanced in flavours and texture. Would reccomend this dish<br/><br/>Service itself was definitely lacking in this eatery. The waitresses seemed to have no clue to what they were doing (e.g. she didnt ask how the steak wanted to be cooked, we had to tell her). But all the staff were friendly enough with good intentions, and the bar manager was extremely nice and accomadating. Overall, ambience was probably 4/10 and food:6/10 due to the price:quality ratio. Would maybe return if the menu had more variety and unique dishes, not too bad overall.

Located close by for work and had seen the $10.50 lunch special so thought I would check it out. On offer was Butter Chicken & Rice. The customer service was pleasant but not prompt. I actively had to seek out to place an order. The butter chicken itself tasted authentic with a bit of spice but not too much. However it was half cold, the container was hot so it seems like they just reheated it which is not what I expected from a hotel. Definitely lost some points for that.

As with many other reviewers, I came here with a voucher. <br/><br/>First of all we had a pretty unfriendly welcome from the gentleman at the front desk. When we asked him where the restaurant was, he muttered 'down the hall', without raising his eyes from the computer screen. Not a good start. The corridor towards the restaurant is really nice with a lovely view to the zen-style garden outside.<br/><br/>We eventually found the dining room in a really awkward place, next to the elevators. This meant there was a continuous stream of guests and their luggage traipsing past the dining area with nothing but an ineffective bead curtain separating them from the diners. A TV in the corner tuned to CNN competed with hip-hop blasting from a stereo until thankfully, the table next to us complained and the TV was turned down (but not off) and the music volume was lowered ever so slightly. Who wants to have a TV on in a dining room at dinner?!<br/><br/>The menu looked appetizing although entrees were rather limited (two soups, bruschetta, risotto). The risotto was fine although I couldn't find any of the toasted capers in it. The chowder was served tepid in a cold bowl with no 'toasted garlic ciabatta' as listed on the menu. <br/><br/>'Beef and Reef'for the main course promised 'King Prawns'. At the risk of sounding pedantic, don't use a plural 's' if you serve just one prawn. The scotch was a nice cut but had been cooked without much care - no sealing and no colour leaving it rather insipid. In fairness to the chef, it was cooked medium rare as requested. Carmalised shallots were not to be found and the mustard bearnaise was so small it would have fitted on the end of pin. The twice-cooked pork belly was a real letdown. No crispiness in the skin meant it had to be removed and left on the side of the plate and what remained was the smallest smidgen of dry pork meat<br/><br/>What the service lacked in finesse, it made up for in friendliness - the servers couldn't be faulted in that regard.<br/><br/>Would I go back? No, probably not. Even with a voucher, this was disappointing. If I had paid the 1 hundred and thirty something dollars as listed on the menu, I'd be pretty upset.

I was actually one of the people who went here with the grabone vouchers. For the price of the voucher, it was a fantastic deal. However, if I had to pay in full price, I would only go for their steaks and definately wouldn't get their entrees (too small in my opinion compared to price). Something else that put me off was the location of the dining area....STRANGE...I thought. As we were waiting and dining, I could see all the guests and customers move about the hotel. Placing a dining area right next to the main path with no solid barriers is not really a good idea. Setting wise, would be one of the worst out of any hotel. The service was O.K. Did their job, nothing more, nothing less. SImply put, I'd recommend this place if you were going with a grabone voucher but not really otherwise.

Bought a three course meal deal of GrabOne. Overall, pleasant dining experience. Waiters were exceptionally friendly. Food was cooked to perfection, could not be faulted. Found the menu a little unexciting, fairly typical. Ordered seafood tasting platter as shared entree, 2 lamb rumps and chocolate trilogy and apple pie and a delicious Pink Lady cocktail - great value cocktail, sweet 🍸

Quaint little restaurant situated in the quadrant hotel. Great service from our waiter Bhubunder slight comunication problem but helpful guy. Chowder prawns mussels, fish bits cooked in cream with touch parsley seafood cooked perfect, seafood platter, shrimps, large scollops, calamari slightly under dune very well presented, calamari could have been cooked for about 30 sec extra little bit chewy seafood was presented on a salsa bed nice seafood tasted fresh.<br/>Mains: salmon on a risotto base, <br/>Twice cooked pork belly on a mash base with I think plumb sauce, salmon cooked beautifuly, pork moist and tender, crackling crisp and crunchy sides were button mushrooms cooked in butter very nice, wedges crisp on outside soft in middle seasoned well, came with pottles of sour cream and tomatoe sauce.<br/>Desert tripple chocolate ganash(moose) and and apple pie, custard and vanilla bean ice cream, pie had a short pastry touch over cook on bottom, but flavor still there great textures combined with ice cream and custard, ganash another lovely desert soft and melt in your mouth full of chocolate flavor. service fast kept topping up our water, replenishing our drinks when empty, restaraunt looked clean and tidy, no food smells comming out of kitchen, changed our cutlery after every serving,<br/>Good simple clean flavours my compliments to the chef. little uncomfortable sharing bath room facility with bar patrions across the way, over all Rating 7.5 out of 10<br/>Thank you Quadrant restaraunt for a wonderful culinary experience.<br/>Kerry and lois.<br/>

Bought a groupon deal here for a four course meal. I wasnt expecting the amazing service and 5-star tasting food. Everything from start to finish was cooked to perfection. The staff were so accomodating and friendly. Recommended eat!

It looks a little small at first but it is cosy and has a nice relaxed ambiance.  The food was excellent, very very tasty- all four of us as table thought so.  The service was very friendly and attentive, never had an empty glass.

I brought a voucher from Groupon as a gift, but this place would not honour it, when these people rang to make a booking they asked if it was a Groupon voucher and if it was said they were fully booked. They weren't as I rang back and tried to make a booking without voucher and surprise surprise they were not fully booked. What a have!! Groupon were excellent refunded my money which I have now spent on another hotel meal -- hopefully I can give them a good review. Avoid this place, so embarrassing when its a gift too

Went there for dinner with my partner with a voucher. We had a 4 course meal. Not only was the meals delicious and SUUUUPER filling, the customer service was amazing as well. Everyone was so polite and respectful.<br/><br/>Only negative was that the portions (for a 4 course meal) was quite large so we could not finish our meals at all which was a waste. Otherwise, AMAZING!!! <br/><br/>Would totally go back there for their sourdough garlic bread!!!!! (picture below)

We have bought a Grabone Voucher for for All-You-Can-Eat Ribs or Buffalo Wing.<br/><br/>It is very easy to locate the place, right next to Pullman Hotel. Service was very friendly as well.<br/><br/>But based on what we had, I really won't recommend the place at all. We have ordered both ribs and wings. I prefer the ribs to be tender, and separate easily from the bones. Instead, the ribs were chewy, very salty (even though we have been told was not used salt for cooking) and very dry. The ribs were clearly overcooked and using a sauce base with hefty salty ingredient. <br/><br/>I thought the wing would be better, but I was so wrong. It was dry  and no flavour. My wife have to sprinkle salt and pepper on the wings. How often do you sprinkle salt and pepper on your chicken wings? Both dishes were very low standard to me. When the waiter asked if we want a second round, since we have all you can eat voucher, we kindly said no and ready to leave.<br/><br/>The worse thing is that my wife felt sick about 20 mins later we left the place, vomited and having a diarrhea for the rest of the night. She ate most of the wings.  We suspect that the chicken wings either not fresh or somewhat contaminated. My wife was so upset that she wants to call the authority  to report the issue.<br/><br/>First time going, and it would be the last, even tho the service is very accommodating.

AVOID AT ALL COST - one of the worst dinning experience if not THE worst. <br/>Dirty table on arrival, 20 minutes wait for 5 glasses of wine and another 15 minutes for 5 glasses of water (total of 12 customers in the restaurant), wrong main orders delivered at the table with a waiting time of 20 minutes,  4 orders delivered at 15 minutes intervals, one wrong main, waiting time of 30 minutes for new main to arrive, and when it finally arrived the meat was still raw in the middle. Incompetent staff. <br/>This place doesn't deserve a rating at all.
