Review Columbus Coffee - Auckland Central

John Andreas Smith (Herr JohnSmith)
I love to order the long blacks, it seems they choose some great beans although it's a house blend, but still it savours your morning coffee routine (: Also I love it when a cafe or community center are in close proximity with bus stops. That on some Sunday morning you could just take a walk, breath the fresh air, step on the bus, then go buys some burger and a nice hot cup of coffee, then go back home again using buses. Muy bien 👌

Love the food, staff is friendly and informative and the vibe is good, quiet enough to enjoy conversation while dining.

This Columbus in Highland Park is great, the management are really neat, especially the owner, she's lovely. Foods great again especially the mango chicken pie. Great location and very handy including plenty of parking, and the atmosphere is always great.

Had a good lunch here after our Aisc prem reserve plate final against Howick Pakuranga. Score line in the end was a 2-1 loss and they had scored a goal at the last 2 minutes. Fortunately for us we had an attempt in the last 2 minutes in the form of a short corner. After the game we had a few Heinekens and said good bye to the team. Ordered a Mumbai eggs at Colobus cafe and it was a good time. Was quite a kick in spice but definitely good order.

Great staff and friendly service. Thoroughly enjoyed having breakfast there offering both covered outside tables and indoor. The coffee is always good quality and the local business enjoy getting their caffeine fix there as well. Great place for catchups with friends or groups.

FAVOURITE CAFE! My absolute go-to. Delicious coffee, incredible staff and service. Super friendly, genuine and local. Gayatri, her hubby, Chris and the team do an incredible job and would highly recommend to all. Also, the creamy mushrooms are the bomb.com.

The food is always lovely and reasonably priced and the coffee is to die for. For me personally I haven't come across a 'bad' Columbus. This is for Pakuranga Columbus, well done guys, love your store and the staff are great.

Amazing service quality, the barista made my day with his smile and excellent humor, coffee served in good time. Coffee is also great, its a little expensive to get regularly, but its good for every now and then. Food is great, again a little expensive. But all the food is made to a high quality standard. The establishment is well cleaned and maintained. Only complaint i have (extremely small complaint) is they advertised free wifi on the door, but it appears to be off at the moment. Probably a networking issue. Defenitely going back!

The coffee was amazing, the barista was great! He even gave us something to smile about on a rainy day; with hearts & ferns on our coffees! Loved the atmosphere and friendly staff 👌❤

We always go for coffee at Columbus Highlandpark and the coffee is nice but they have a problem with flies. I counted 7 flies at our table this morning. I said to my husband I don’t want to come back here or we must bring fly spray with. The owner should buy fly spray and spray every now and then or she will loose a lot of customers. Chris makes the best hot chocolate. The owner is very friendly and professional.

Popped in for a bite to eat and must say what a great experience it was from the minute we walked in. Staff were really friendly and welcoming and food came out in a reasonable time. I ordered the berry hot cakes and all I could say was WOW! Not only were they well presented but they tasted absolutely delicious. Will definitely be back to try more of the menu.

Had a brunch here for the first time. Friendly and lovely staff. I just noticed that it took them a while to clear the tables (the place is not busy at all). They have a wide variety of food to choose from, but I just ended up with a salmon fritata and hot choco. Nice place to relax bacause of the music they played.

Rip off place. Tried to charge me extra 20cents to have milk in my coffee.
when disputed told me it was the norm. No charges for milk except almond were on
their menu board. Makes me wonder. would never go back on principal.

Lovely staff and fantastic food but they took an absolutely RIDICULOUS time to get our coffees, and then eventually also our food (that was only 2 cabinet items) to us. We will go somewhere else next time so that it doesn't take nearly an hour to have coffee and cake.

Nice place, nice food , friendly staff, little on the expensive side $45 for 2 meals and drinks.
(Big Breakfast and Open Omelette)
Cabinet food looked good too

Columbus is probably my favourite franchised cafe. This one is the closest to where I live so I've had their coffee quite a few times and it's consistently good. Their desserts are also great. I've never had food from the menu because I find them to be too pricy and the cabinet food is pretty much less than half the price of those on the menu, so I always opt for cabinet food instead which are around $7.50-10. I would definitely recommended this option since you get more value out of it and you don't have to wait for your food to be cooked. Everything I've tried has been pretty tasty and fresh. Nothing outstanding but good comfort food such as lasagne, mac and cheese, pasta salads, filo pastry goods etc. Overall a nice place to grab a coffee and a sweet treat, or a simple brunch/ afternoon tea.

Not good. Outside tables are rarely cleared. Customers clear themselves from table to table. Tables not regularly wiped. Poor selection of muffins.

I had a run of 2 eateries for lunch on Sunday. My wife & I passed by Wang Kee (not yet listed) which is just next door to Columbus & we decided to have a go at it first before heading back to Columbus for some desserts & coffees. Lemon & coconut cake was my wife's favourite & I just picked chocolate brownie. The hot coffees were always enjoyable.

We have visited this cafe for breakfast once before and often grab quick coffees from here. The eggs benedict was delicious, but nothing extraordinary. Coffee is good and service is good too.

We were very disappointed with our meal. We waited more than 30 minutes before the food arrived. I wonder whether we used a voucher as the food was definitely not worth the $16.50 or $17.50 on the.menu which was open chicken grilled sandwich. we got 2 tiny pieces of chicken. The bread were burnt and hard. Perhaps we should order the cabinet food. The coffee was weak. Definitely not worth going back. The Columbus in Botany is great! Don't go unless you are prepared for disappointment. :(

My partner and I had brunch here and it was just alright. My Spanish omelet was a generous portion but very greasy, his big breakfast looked standard. While it is nice to see a few different items on the menu it is still the usual overpriced brunch.

Just went to visit this new cafe (hearing that it is the new it place to go) I was wowed by the food selection , much better then the other Columbus cafes , My Roast vege fold-over was so yummy. Its really good to see so many vegetarian options. To finish off i had the coffee and walnut slice, all i can say is this is the best slice i have ever eaten! Big ups to the chef there. I will be back ( although a few kg's heavier)
