Never been there but I love their coffee😍

I came to your cafe today, firstly you handed me a glass of water with three different shades of lipstick on the rim, which in itself is disgusting & unhygienic. Secondly two of our party ordered mince on toast, which was inedible , no flavour & texture was all wrong! But yet you charged them full price! I will not make the mistake of visiting your premises again

Dunno what happened to this place. If you enjoy waiting forever for food and average coffee go here, really disappointing.

Outstanding! Best coffe I've had in a long time and food was superb. I'll be back.

Thoroughly enjoyed our meals on Sat, extremely tasty corn fritters :) thank you!

Decided to visit Roasted Addiction because of a killer voucher deal of $11 for breakfast for 2 people. Seemed to good to be true and unfortunately was. Due to a mistake by the voucher website (I believe) it was $11 per person. Another voucher was purchased out of good faith but unfortunately the café wouldn't compensate in any way. Given we'd made the trip specially it was a little disappointing. The food wasn't bad. We had the corn fritters, a little on the pancakey side but tasty. Chicken burger and fries were ok. However, both meals came with 'aioli' that literally taste like nothing. Would have been nice to have a decent sauce with both meals. Coffee was pretty decent but we had to ask for it again as it hadn't arrived by the time we got our meals.I did like the art on the walls, nice idea to display up and comers art pieces.Overall not bad but probably won't visit again.

Came for breakfast with a voucher. Ordered eggs benedict with salmon and a hot chocolate.
Drinks arrived quickly and food arrived about 10 mins after ordering. Eggs bene was delicious- had homemade hollandaise sauce, generous sized English muffins and baby spinach. Only thing that disappointed was the hot chocolate which was too watery and not enough flavour. Would come back again for breakfast.

Gave this place a try after buying a Grabone Voucher. Drinks first:, a decent latte, but possibly the worst mocha i have ever had the misfortune of trying. I'm not really sure how you can make coffee and chocolate taste so bad? Food was OK if a little bland. Salmon eggs Benedict was small but just about adequate and big breakfast was the better of the two breakfasts. cafe itself is a chic little place, could be good if the food moves on from distinctly average.

We’ve been here a few times and I can honestly say each time I leave I feel a little more disappointed aye. This place has so much potential and is in the perfect location but it never seems to get better?

The food taste like a bad affair and lacks love and passion, the eggs Benedict lacked flavor and I and the whole thing just looked sad.

Customer service is good, but the whole place just lacks excitement!

Went today for a birthday brunch! It was very busy but the staff are very attentive and always going the extra mile. I had an eggs Benny with mushrooms and it did not disappoint. This was a simple dish done perfectly! We took a cheesecake along to celebrate the birthday and the waitstaff were so lovely and brought us a cake server and knife. I would go here again, these extra touches definitely go a long way!!

One of my favourite brunch spots! I think Ive almost tried everything from the breakfast menu. Eggs Benedict and pancakes are my favs. Must try the potatoe hash cake. Very friendly service and great outdoor courtyard seating. Coffee is always great!!

Went here a Groupon voucher, owner isn't fussy with no bookings and weekend stuff. Food was great, nice drinks, although things are very salty and fast service. Maybe should ask for less salt next time. Sorry for the snapchat pic haha!

Soggy eggs and toast with no flavour, didn't have any bubbly, waited almost an hour for our meal. Don't waste your time or money. Learn how to toast gluten free bread.

In its hey-day, this place was very good but I imagine things have changed drastically since then. I couldn't even use a filter to make the photo I took of the food look less unexciting, bland and unappealing. It was something I'd expect of the Hollywood bakeries. We ordered the two big brekkies (one of which was vegetarian): kransky sausage was luke warm and the poached eggs were hard in the middle. Everything was tasteless and salt wouldn't have even helped. I was so thoroughly depressed.
Baked goodies were still stored in containers which added to the dismal-ness of the whole affair.
However I have scored the place a 2 because the coffee was actually very good and the waiter was lovely.

There's a cute little outdoor dining area at the back of This place but when we got there the tables had plates left all over them. We moved some so we could sit down and it took a long time for someone to come and clean it even after they brought us our average food. I don't know if it was the barista or the coffee roast but it wasn't that nice. Food was average and a bit expensive for what it was. Would not go back knowing there are much better places in kingsland.

Literally just finnished there vegetarian pizza and it was amazing.
The girl at the counter was very nice.
The place is a very cosy place but more for the winter as it was boiling hot inside

Attended here using a voucher for brunch and a drink for 2. Was an excellent deal in my opinion and is a nice place that I've wanted to try.
We ordered our food and drink, and the drinks came out promptly followed by our meals. Staff were excellent and service was fast.
However the breakfast we ordered came on a clean plate but had black water running along which I suspected from the mushrooms and this spoiled the back which seemed to have been very over-cooked and dry.
But the atmosphere was pleasant and we did enjoy ourselves.
Will probably return here to give it another shot.

Spontaneously decided to purchase a grab one voucher for this place today! The deal entitled two drinks and two breakfast or lunch items for $25!

I ordered the bacon eggs bene and cup of mocha. He ordered an orange juice and the big breakfast that included two poached eggs on sour bread dough, bacon, potato fritter, two pieces of chorizo and roasted tomato. I enjoyed my dish and he enjoyed his. Compared to other places we have been to for breakfast, we think this place is really good! Our waitress was really nice too :)

I wouldn't mind coming back to try some of the things on the lunch menu.
We had a voucher to this place (brunch or lunch for 2 with drinks) Came here for lunch and it did not disappoint.

Ordered the corn and coriander fritters with bacon & avocado and a banana smoothie (was was an extra $1 on top of that, which I didn't understand why buy that's cool... Only $1 extra...). Anyways, LOVED the corn fritters!!! The absolute best I've had so far in Auckland! Everywhere I've been, the corn fritters were made like a pancake-like texture -all flour and not enough corn in there. I could eat these everywhere and am still craving for them now! 😍 one thing I didn't like about it was how the bacon was sandwiched between each corn fritters. Made it quite difficult to cut through them but only a minor minor thing.

The banana smoothie was real average though. Quite watery and frothy.

My partner had the fettuccine carbonara, which was okaaayyyy but was way too creamy and it seemed quite lumpy -either it was the cheese or I don't know what happened. Looked it the cheese or something had curdled. If there's such thing. And quite oily as well, was hard for him to finish it off.

Overall, great place! And service was good too. Meals came quite fast. Would definitely come back JUST for them corn fritters!!!

Mixed experience here! Went for lunch to catch up with a friend. The pricing and outside area was really nice. I also found the coffee really good, I've always liked roasted addiqtion beans!
The food was decent, my friend and I both utilized the lunch special and I got a Portuguese chicken sandwich and she got a buffalo burger. Both came with decent serving of fries which were really well cooked and seasoned! The actual sandwich and burgers were good. Nothing amazing but will decent!
The service was really friendly if a little bit awkward however this was likely due to the language barrier.
I would return for the coffee and maybe cabinet food as I have tried it before. Would probably choose somewhere else for a sit down lunch, there are better and worse lunch places.

I bought a grab one voucher to use which said booking essential so tried to ring to make a booking but no answer so I decided to go in they were happy to seat me until I mentioned I had a voucher then I want allowed to be seated because it was "to busy" even though I saw empty seats. Very disappointed I will try get my money back.

I have been more satisfied with a McDonald's breakfast at least I know I'm going to be disappointed before I leave the car and for half the price 😧😧

The vibe of this place isn't very welcoming, and the food was quite terrible! Received 2 very small portions of food that were both overcooked! Was $50 for 2 small meals and was extremely disappointed, definitely not worth the money! Will not be returning back here again

Came here today for a catch up with friends. The wait for the food was relatively short and was quite yummy. We decided to sit downstairs/outside as there was 6 of us. My friend ordered 2 hot chocolates- 1 before her meal and 1 for when we had finished. Unfortunately her second hot chocolate was forgotten which was very disappointing!

I had seen this place packed a couple of times awhile ago and so was keen to try it. Two really sad breakfasts (we had the vege breakfast and the roasted breakfast), a $5 OJ and a $5 tea later we had spent $50 and felt bad about life. I would liken it to western-style breakfasts you can get in Asia. By that I mean not good. There are much better cafes in Kingsland.

Went for brunch. Ordered their buffalo burger with chips and salad. Burger was delicious and held well. All fresh ingrediants and the alioli seemed restaurant made. Really friendly service and a good environment. Hot chocolate was bland however and wouldn't recommend. Overall good place to eat.
Tracey Florence Su'a
Ordered the fettuccine. It was yummy!! Creamy, pasta wasn't over cooked. I would've liked a bit more Parmesan though. Loved the paintings on display too 😊

Very good coffee but the a-la-carte food has made a turn for the worst lately. We used to visit more regularly but as of late, we found the food was not as fresh as usual. The smoked salmon salad we had had a rather "fishy" smell and did not taste fresh. It was also too oily, like too much olive oil had been used. However the service is friendly and staff only too willing to place. This is a nice go-to place at lunchtime, as not too busy, but perhaps a sign that food is not as fresh as it could be.
A Different Critic
Visited Roasted Addiqtion on a Sunday morning. There were a few people there but managed to get a table for 4 straight away. Ordered their version of the big breakfast & salmon eggs benedict. It wasn't to bad but wouldn't call it big. It wasn't greasy which was good. The benedict was typical benedict nothing more nothing less. All in all a typical cafe experience. I did take a liking to the quirky artwork & chai latte.

My Mum got a voucher off grab one for lunch at this cafe. We arrived and the cafe was quite busy and there didn't appear to be many staff members on. We went to the counter and the waiter seated us at a table which didn't have enough seats for all of us and still had the dishes from the previous guests on it. After the waiter (who seemed to be the only staff member doing everything) had seated us he brought us menus and all was good. After ordering our food we waited about 20 - 30 minutes and two of the four dishes had arrived. We waited before we ate for the other two dishes and this was at least 10 minutes by then the first two dishes had gone cold. The two dishes we eventually got had also been mixed up and was wrong and needed to be changed therefor the wait continued. Once all the meals had come (and correctly) we started to eat and realised the one hot drink we ordered had not come either. The service here was pretty shocking and none of the staff seemed to be very concerned with the fact we had a pretty dragged out and messed up lunch. In the end the food wasn't bad but the service downgraded the experience a lot.

Came here with my mother the other morning and enjoyed a strong, hot coffee and a lovely breakfast. I had the hash stack and was pleased with the amount of food I got for my money although the bread was a little dry. My mother who is vegetarian was very pleased with the sheer number of vegetarian options on the menu and ordered the vegetarian big breakfast. She was extremely satisfied with her meal. The service we received was very prompt and the man behind the counter was very lovely. A very pleasant breakfast experience.

This used to be my most favourite cafe in Kingsland but now I'm looking for a new favourite. Just been here for breakfast and very disappointed. Another reviewer commented that the coffee has become very " hit and miss" and today was a definite miss for me - twice! Flavourless and bland. I used to love love love the coffee here !! Moving up the road I'm very very sad to say - I'll miss the orange decor but not the bad flat whites.

Always great food when coming here, are regulars and the staff are always friendly with good service. Have tried items from the breakfast and lunch menu and everything is good. Poached eggs are always cooked perfect with runny inside and the corn fritters are one of the best I've tried in Auckland. Pretty big portion sizing as well. Really Good coffee
House Of Eats
Need a coffee hit and fresh beans to go? Well this is the shop. Located in the heart of Kingsland this cafe not only makes coffee but roasts it too. Be sure to pick a bag of coffee before you leave. I loved the cold brew coffee on a hot summers day. Must try

Yummy eggs benedict. And prices are reasonable. Staff are nice. Good place, kingsland is a nice place. Also love the decorations. Damn this 140 msg requirement. Haha

Brought here via Groupon. The place has a cool vibe. Overall, it was a fine breakfast experience. Nice coffee and eggs benedict!
I've been here several times and the wait has never been an issue, the food has always been the same (eggs bene) and coffee has always been the highlight. It's not above average food or below average food but average in a good way. Consistent probably more appropriate. Egg yolks nice and runny as requested, toast is never buttered (pet peeve when they bring buttered toast then it's soggy) and the coffee is always hot not warm.
Chin And Prony Powichitkul
We come here for coffee and brunch every now and then when we come to visit our family GP just down the road. The breakfast is always pleasant and up to standard. My grandma loves the pancakes here! The coffee can be a hit and miss- some days the milk is steamed real well, some days it's just burnt. Service is nice and friendly, we are always catered to and never left waiting. I think improve on making the coffee more consistent and all should be fine!

I went there twice with my son.
Great food.
They have half breakfast for kids that is actual food not just fast food.
First time I ordered the paste from the lunch menu, delicious and plenty.
Next time i had the peri peri sandwich.
they also have a little kids corner.
Very nice people.
I will be there again soon.

Our family always gets their vouchers on Groupon, 48 dollars for four people to eat, with hot drinks included. Every time we go (which has now become something of a tradition) the staff accept the voucher unhesitatingly, and continue to promptly serve us and treat us well. Food pleases all of us and we are a family of different tastes. Coffee is delicious. Seating is quite lovely, especially the outdoors. Child friendly place.

A busy little cafe, weekends are busy here. Coffee always good & cooked food is averagely priced. Friendly staff & the great service do make up for any of this cafe's shortfalls. Make use of the outdoor court yard if you do pop in here.

Just dropped in for a quick breakfast with my mum one day and got the vegetarian big breakfast. Was fairly average and a bit disappointing. The food was all a bit bland and boring. Although I've had other things such as the vegetarian burger there before in the past for a lunch and found that was a bit more satisfactory. Nice bread and inside filling, hash browny thing in place of a meat patty, served with some chips.

I have been coming here on a regular basis since my move to Auckland , l do like the the coffee if the owner makes it can be it and miss with the other staff members make it but not enough to stop going.
The main thing I would like too see them do is do something about the art it can give an untidy look as it is hung all over the place it is good to see they are supporting local artists but should let them hang it for a month and then have someone else display there work and not have a garage sale look about it, but the friendly service from Vincent and the team is great.
Janet Cal
I purchased a deal voucher and really enjoyed our visit today, had the chicken salad and my husband had the buffalo burger, both were great and good coffee thanks. Would recommend the food...

For a café the coffee is really hit and miss here. Some days it is amazing the others I just wish it was the other barista. I had the lunch special corn fritter and it was nothing to write home about. But did taste fresh. Avoid at the weekends can take half an hour to get one coffee.

It’s been a few years since I last visited Roasted Addiqtion but we live in the area so we decided to give them another try.

We wandered in for Saturday brunch and there were a few brunchers in the cafe. We ordered at the counter. He ordered the Roasted Big Breakfast $18 and I ordered the Hash Stack $15.5/$16.5.

It wasn’t clear what was in the hash stack. I asked but the server didn’t seem to know (and didn't check with the chef). I prefer hash browns so ordered it anyway and asked for smoked salmon to be added to it.

Though I like the casual atmosphere inside with the quirky artwork, we grabbed a table in the outdoor area. There was no one else in the outdoor area, no music either, it felt a bit lacking in atmosphere, like we really were eating out the back of the kitchen.

We helped ourselves to water. Our cups had lipstick marks on them, our coffees were OK. I found a cockroach on our sugar, luckily the sugar is wrapped in paper and the offending cockroach scuttled away after I flung him.

My salmon was slimy and fishy. I wrongly assumed that my hash stack would be some kind of breakfast dish with hash browns. I didn’t expect 3 layers of toast and 2 layers of hash browns. Carb overload! I wasn't keen on a hash brown sandwich.

The poached eggs in the Roasted Big Breakfast were beautifully cooked, but the rest of the breakfast was average.

This was very slightly better than my last experience at Roasted Addiqtion. Slightly. There are much better places to eat in this area. The staff are nice, a bit slack but aside from the very nice poached eggs, the menu really needs some work. We will not be back.

I have been to Roasted Addiqtion 4 times in the last year on voucher deals. While the cafe is a bit tired and not particularly clean, especially the toilets, we thought the food on the first 2 occasions was pretty good. I would have given it 4 out of 5 then. Unfortunately our last 2 visits were really disappointing. I have heard that the ownership has changed and this may well account for our recent experiences. 3 weeks ago we arrived to a very busy cafe and had to wait for about 10 minutes - there were no spare chairs so we had to stand. When we got our table for 2 it took ages to get service - the whole place seemed quite chaotic and the staff didn't look like they really knew what they were doing. Finally we were able to order coffee only to be told the machine had broken down. As we couldn't stand the thought of brunch without coffee we decided to leave and come back the following week. But we had wasted about 30 minutes in there let alone the travel to and from. 2 weeks ago we returned with our voucher and the cafe was even busier. Again we had to wait (standing) for ages and then finally were put on a table which we had to share with others - that was no big deal. Again the staff looked out of sorts and again it took us forever to get service but at least the coffee machine was working! When our food order eventually came it was bordering on the mediocre to awful. I had the Big Breakfast and my partner the hashcake stack. It was definitely not the quality that we had experienced in our first 2 visits. I give it 2 stars (just) and could not recommend it to friends.

This cafe used to one of my favourites but think after it changed owners the food and service is terrible.
Ordered iced chai latte and was given iced chocolate and when complained to the waiter she totally ignored me and was very annoyed so went up to the counter to complain and the so called barrister asked me if i knew how iced chai was made. The food was discus ting had burger and fries which was dripping of oil and think i would rather have a burger n chips from mc Donald's then this cafe. would never go back there
Charlotte Firth
I used to love this café, it was one of my favorites. I think it has changed hands in recent times..
My partner and I went for brunch today. I had corn fritters and long black, he had the beef burger.
Coffee was good but the food and service have really gone downhill - my corn fritters were greasy and the burger was mushy.
Most of all the service is now very disorganized (this was our second visit in the last few months and we have had problems both times), most of the staff seem to have quite a language barrier and communication isn't the best.
We had a deal voucher for this visit and will not be going back even for an offer, and I certainly wouldn't pay full price. It's a shame as I used to be a regular, loved the atmosphere of the place as well as the food and coffee, now it's a shadow of it's former self.

I purchased a deal voucher and came here with my husband recently. I absolutely loved this place!

The food was fantastic, I had a hash stack with bacon which was huge and delicious and my husband had a big breakfast which was equally as delicious. The coffee was some of the best I've had, it was so good that I bought another one to takeaway as I was leaving.

It was a little confusing though, on arrival we grabbed a couple of menus and went and sat out in the courtyard where we wondered if someone would come take our order or not. Once we had decided, it seemed that no one was going to come so I went back in and ordered at the counter. Staff were friendly and the service was good.

The place could do with a bit of a spruce up appearance wise but the food and coffee was fantastic. I cannot wait to eat here again.

I came here a few years ago and it was famous for its great Hot Drinks and food wasn't bad either. This year a voucher tempted me to go again so we tried it. Service now is now very disorganised and you have to go up to order which we didn't know and spent a long time waiting. Our table was dirty and had to ask a waitress to clean it which she did by wiping crumbs onto the floor. We saw another waitress do this too. Chai Latte and Hot Chocolate watery and bland. No serviette and staff member didn't understand our request for one. Food was unremarkable, no butter with main Breakfast special, so had to request and was hard as ice. Sausages like children's party cheerios. Chicken in burger extremely thin and only on outer sides, middle, empty. Waitress cleared away before we had finished eating. Moral of story, if a good place of the past needs to use vouchers, then it's gone downhill!!!
Brent Matches
I visited this cafe everyday for a week and I found the barista to be friendly and above all he knew how to make coffee. I tried the daily muffin which was chocolate and berry and it was good! That was day one! The next six days it was the same thing and so was the daily scone. It arrived steaming, nuked to hell and back. The butter pat came so hard you had to pulverize it to use it. I decided to try a quiche from the cabinet and unfortunately the same outcome, nuked to hell and back! The coffee on the weekend was watery, due to a different barista and as I had ten cups Mon-Fri I decided it's a no go weekends. Food is rated a two star and coffee a four Mon-Fri.
Pauline Bennett
Great food, great coffee, great staff. We ordered the full size items from the menu but its great to see they offer some half size meal portions for those with smaller appetites. We would definitely recommend this place and would come back again.
Lee
Hadn't been here for a couple of years so came with a voucher, glad to see the outdoor area has had a spruce up. Coffee is still excellent and also had a soy smoothie with honey which was delicious. I ordered the corn fritters and my friend got the burger. Corn fritters were delicious, however the portions were a tad small. Burger was awesome and the chips were the best I've had in ages. Good as service from the guy with tattoos! Want to see this place as busy as it used to be, it's a cool cafe in a sweet as location.
James
Had breakfast at this place with voucher deal. The customer service was great. The coffee was good and food was 7/10, but the good selection of food choices. Would definitely be going back again :-)

Not much has changed since we visited in Oct 2012. First time, chicken salad was full of mesclun and very little chicken. This time, potato rosti was deep fried to death - extremely crispy & dried plus 2 very thinly sliced smoked salmon. Poor value for money and won't be back.
Wendy Pickering
We have had brunch at this restaurant many times this year and this is our favourite spot. Service very good. Meals nicely prepared, good size and yummy. Nice decor. The only problem with any business in Kingsland is parking, but for brunch you are okay.
Natalie
Had a disappointing lunch here today. My "Deep Blue Salad" sounded good on the menu, but when a mountain of mesclun leaves arrived in front of me, I thought there must have been some mistake. Surely they couldn't plop half a packet of mesclun leaves on a plate and expect $17.90 for it? Granted, it wasn't straight from the packet, as a few slices of red onion and some bean sprouts had been mixed in with the mesclun. And when I looked under the mesclun, I saw three small rolled up slices of smoked salmon and four small prawns. I believe the meal's ingredients would have cost around $5. Very poor value. Hubby's "Portuguese Chicken Sandwich" wasn't much better. I see it is listed in the menu on this website at $16.90, however today it is selling for $18.50. The bottom bun of the "sandwich" (which was actually a burger) was soaked through from all the mesclun leaves, and the chicken had very little flavour. Worst of all was the side dish of "crisps", which were straight from a supermarket-bought bag of Solay potato chips. Hubby was pretty offended by this - the cafe is supposed to entice us with its own cuisine, not processed stuff straight from a packet. We won't be returning.
Helle
Not very impressive. I expected better from a Cafe with many vegetarian dishes but was VERY disappointed to order the VEGE breakfast and be presented with a large pile of spinach barely cooked and no flavour (and more than anyone could ever eat and so wet the rest of the food on the plate was swimming in water)

A huge pile of roasted GREEN capsicum, okay mushrooms, a disgusting overcooked and DEEP fried "hash brown" which was most likely defrosted for too long before it was cooked to a crisp (as we heard lots of microwaving from the kitchen)

Dry boring toast and 2 poached eggs. Would not come back here unfortunately. Only good thing was the coffee which was nice.
Anneke
Very disappointed- I'm a vegetarian & ordered the potato & leek soup but instead was given pea & ham, apparently the chef didn't tell the wait staff the soup had changed. Chef did not apologize and I was not offered compensation. My boyfriend's order was also messed up, he had already paid for his then was told they had run out then mucked up the order change - won't be going back or buying their coffee anymore
Verity Swift
Not impressed at all really! The music was ok, quite nice and one of the staff members was nice. Unfortunately my roasted vegetable and mushroom lasagne was not only cold in the middle it was yuck!
Roasted vegetable??? Hmmm the bottom was all pumpkin, there was something green in there but not sure if it was cabbage or spinach as it was too overcooked. I was most unimpressed with the fact that the mushrooms were from a tin!
This was my first visit - probably my last. Shame as it's so close to work.
Apparently they do a good breakfast brunch but I'll stick with The Wine Box in Albany Village thanks!

After terrible experiences 3 years ago, involving long waits and raw patties in burgers, we had vowed never to return. However, since I couldn't write a poor review based on ancient history, and from online comments, it looked like things had improved in the meantime, not to mention the place had an offer in the Entertainment Book, we decided to give them another chance. Perhaps third time lucky?

We decided to try out their new dinner menu, even though the place was basically empty, apart from some people coming and going who seemed to be acquainted with the staff. The background music was pleasant and service was friendly. Were our fears unfounded?

We ordered the Thai Fish Cakes ($13.50) and Pea and Goat Cheese Tart ($12.50) for starters. The fish cakes were served in a lettuce leaf bowl and were inedibly salty, even when you combined each mouthful with salad leaves. The tart, while definitely better than the fish cakes and beautifully decorated with pea tendrils, was nothing special. The best part (apart from the pea tendrils) was probably the onion chutney it came with, which tasted of sweet balsamic.

For mains we only ordered one plate to share, the Hungarian Chicken Papriksh ($26). This creamy macaroni based dish had overcooked pasta topped with two pieces of chicken. The sauce was inoffensive, but not particularly exciting. Overall, it was something that you would be pretty pleased to get, if served at the university canteen, but it was definitely not worth the money that was charged for it.

Someone should take the chef to Depot, Serafin or the Clare Inn Irish Pub (for instance) so he can see for himself the standard of food which you can buy for $26 in Auckland prime locations. Roasted Addiqtion will probably have customers simply due to the crowds from the Rugby World Cup, but they are definitely not putting their best foot forward.

Fantastic food, fantastic service!

Hubby ordered big breakfast which was amazing, he's a big breakfast connoisseur and this one blew his socks off. Yum home made hash brown (why is this so hard to find at cafes??) He was a very happy camper. I had the french toast which was Divine! Coffee and hot chocolate were perfect.

We had perfect weather and chose to sit out in the courtyard out back which was lovely. The staff are so friendly and made the whole experience even better.

Well done boys & girls!
Celeste Bowden
The menu boasts a great brunch selection for vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free diets, as well as many traditional dishes.

I had the vegetarian potato hash cakes - with two poached eggs on top of silverbeet and a cake of grated potato and parmigianino with avocado, salad and relish on the side. It was really good!

Another member of our group enjoyed the bacon version of the potato hash cakes, while the third member ordered the Vegan Tofu Florentine which looked fabulous.

Good service, great location. Our only complaint is trying to find a park in Kingsland is a mission.

You can read my full review of Roasted Addiqtion at http://celestereviews.wordpress.com/2011/03/06/roasted-addiqtion/

Last time I went to Roasted Addiqtion I was a bit hesitant as I had heard a few things about the coffee that weren't too great.I was Pleasantly surprised with the friendly service and menu available, though I do think there is room for improvement with with their soy coffee's. - I don't' know If I'm just being too fussy as I know some people find soy hard to work with.
Overall I was pretty happy, If they improve with there Soy lattes I would defiantly be a regular!

There were some good points about our visit to Roasted Addiqtion but these were outweighed by the negatives.

The cafe didn't get off to a good start by refusing our Entertainment Book voucher - I admit it was Easter Monday and thus a public holiday, but the Entertainment Book only specified that vouchers wouldn't be accepted on Good Friday or Easter Sunday. Oh, and they still charged us the 15% surcharge.

However, we decided to stay - probably not the smartest decision. The service was great from some staff, surly from others. The coffee was weak and only just warm enough. Our food arrived very quickly - too quickly for mine to have been prepared for me... I'm positive it had been pre-prepared. My friend said her vege quiche was good. I had the scrambled eggs with salmon and a side of homemade hashbrowns. The eggs were watery and the hashbrowns hard - like eating potato chips. Onthe positive side, it was a good-sized serving. I was hungry so ate one of the hashbrowns that actually had some moisture still in it but left the other. When I mentioned the hashbrowns to one of the staff, whilst he was apologetic, he wasn't apologetic enough to offer money back or even a free coffee.

Overall, not a great experience - a shame given the other positive reviews that the cafe has received.

Once upon a time was my favourite cafe for breakfast or lunch. Love the brioches and the coffee. Portions are big and bursting with flavours. Well done - a good revival.

Comfortable rustic interior, the staff are always nice to deal with.

Great little cafe serving good quality food. We've had some great meals here lunchtimes and evenings - the pasta of the day and salads are always tasty and good value, while the desserts are excellent. Service is in our experience usually good, if sometimes a little chilled. In our experience lunch and evening service was better than breakfast.

Recommended.

One of the few cafes in Auckland with a relaxing chilled out atmosphere.
Tasty and generous sized portions and excellent coffee.
I am now a regular visitor for brunch. They also offer delicious ready to eat food in the way of pizzas, brioche, frittata's and wraps run. I've always found service to be great; swift and pleasant.

I wanted to meet a friend for brunch before work today and this was perfect, close to home and they were open at 7. We had great food (muesli with fruit and yoghurt and toast and avocado) and great coffee.
The service was friendly and quick, and I love the art on the wall, I am actually considering buying a piece as a house warming gift for myself for the new house!
