Actually you have to book the Beijing Duck before you come for the sake of good taste. They need 1 hour to have it prepared. As a Beijinger, this restaurant is the best in town with no doubt. Do give a try!

introduced by friend, the taste is good, the price is reasonable. the Beijing baked duck need to pre order otherwise take too long to wait!

No as good as its past, but still acceptable. At least, the chef was trained and professional. They can make good food if they want.

Horrible experience overall! Ordered Peking duck 50mins ago. Showed up at the restaurant, it was not ready.

And nobody was taking our order for almost 30mins. 3 ladies that was working, ran around like headless chicken. Finally we the manager lady took the order, she said the eggplant we order is going to be extra $6 more than the menu.

What made it worse the food look nothing like the menu.

Never again.

P.S. The toilet is so disgusting, seem like it has not been clean since the early 90s. it will put you off for eating for the rest of the food.

Beijing Duck was excellent again. Ordered at noon (in English) for dinner meal. Lamb rib/spine Hot Pot and Steamed Fish were super. Beef tendon and sze chuan pepper stir fried green beans were also good. Young ground floor waiter & waitress were not unfriendly but could do better with friendliness and taking an interest in customers. Our table of 7 all enjoyed the meal. BYO wine glasses.

Great food and good price, nice easy relaxed atmosphere. Has a weird entrance and front entrance can be easily missed on the road. Sizzling beef arrived not so sizzling but all around tasty and great value at $15pp

As a Beijinger I would say their dishes are okay on local standard. The steamed dumplings and stirr fried dishes are good in taste.

However, on Beijing standard, their Beijing Duck taste yuck. The pancake and soup with duck are not in the taste the should have. Definitely don't try Beijing duck here.

5 stars for the food...Zero stars for service and a non-English speaking establishment.
Quite silly for immigrants to an English speaking country.
The menu needs better descriptions of the food in English. This could be a huge success for the quality of its food, but unless you have a Chinese speaking friend along with you...its pretty useless.
I think there is alot of arrogance in this restaurant. Unless they start to cater to ALL customers, they will eventually fail.
Also...there is never a smile and they don't understand service at all.
Its all kind of weird. All a bit hap hazard.
But make no mistake, if you know what to order...the food is 4+ stars.
The restaurant signage is all in Chinese. They make no attempt at getting anyone but Chinese in the restaurant. Don't get that at all.
The owners have great chefs...but they don't know how to run a restaurant in New Zealand. Extremely stubborn and ignorant.
Its very frustrating when there is such wonderful potential and the owners restrict themselves. Oh well...moving on.

Very poor service as we rang to book a table for dinner and nobody spoke English to take our booking. If you are going own an eating establishment in an English speaking country, you should therefore be able cater for all types of customers.

Very authentic Beijing style food. Best Beijing duck I had in auckland, pretty close to the real thing, need to order the duck a day before. Great for people who loves Beijing food. Dishes look and taste great, price is not high but not cheap either. Best Beijing styled restaurant I have seen so far.
