Not busy in the morning so we didn't have to wait for long, but no call was made when the food was ready. Coffee was nice and hot. Fingerprints on the glass doors and playground area, and tables Not cleaned up.

Whoever was on making burgers at lunch time today needs a pay rise please and they need to train the rest of your staff on how to put the burgers together. Both burgers were delicious and had the appropriate amount of lettuce and sauce. The presentation wasn't sloppy like maccas usually is. Thank you

They've Improved Considerably. Service is Great now. There Burgers & Fries are always fresh! This Macdonalds in Balmoral is always busy and most times you having to wait ages! Not any more! That's why, "I've given them a 5 STAR RATING!

was amazing service this day, the woman/possible supervisor or manager that helped me after the kiosk didn't want to work was so helpful. food was nice hot though the fries havnt been the best the few times I've been in.

Always a good time. The young team of staff that they have on are wonderful and there is a sense of synergy and efficacy throughout the place. Management has a great range of workers on. The owners understand the value of having happy, competent staff. 😁😌

Nice and always clean. Plenty of parking spots and a nice drive through. This is my weekend-to-go place for breakfast. Revisited this place again. Happy with everything I said a month ago. The highlights are Cleanliness, Staff with Smiles, High Quality of service.

I've ordered from Balmoral, over the last 11 months, never had an issue with the meals. Besides, wait service took a little longer. Maybe the patties were too cooked and everything else tasted great. Honestly I ordered from other restaurants, so disappointed with the quality of their food. Balmoral Macdonald's have never served me any raw or uncooked food. Very satisfying!!!

Always get their Georgie pie hunger buster which does the trick. Love the chips at this branch, sundae machine always working here and always get the strawberry shake. Quarter pounder included too. Georgie pie is average and doesn’t live up to its name, but the combo satisfies the cravings!

Ordered a double quarter pounder combo tonight. Only find that the patties were raw and under cooked. I also ordered my pregnant sister a cheeseburger combo - whose patties were also undercooked. Please ensure you check the products before you pass them out the window. It’s not ok.

McDonalds time when it’s monopoly time. Heading here for our luck, buy some fries and mcflurry which they have limited time mcflurry with flakes chocolate. Love this

Spacious branch, always busy around midday and can take a while to get your food. Burgers always made fresh, tastes average and shop is well maintained

We bought take away from here in the afternoon. Food quality is above average, and staffs all really friendly. Easy to find car park at this mc.

Soggy chips which were more oil than chips. The cheese on my burger was all dry around the edges like it had been left out overnight. By far the worst McDonald’s I’ve had in a long time.

It’s really rare that we visit McDonalds, on this occasion it was because of the new limited edition spicy nuggets. Was very excited to try this. Unfortunately it was a let down in my point of view. The nuggets was not spicy although it did have few chilli flakes in them it was not that spicy. They did have 2 sauces for the nuggets aioli and spicy bbq. The spicy bbq just tasted like sweet chilli sauce with a darker color n I didn’t taste any bbq flavour. It was on a weekend we went around 2pm it was pretty busy and the restaurant service was ok it could have been better. And the place was very messy. Which is understandable but there could have been a person in the lobby cleaning since it was busy.

Got a quick feed here after craving fast food. This McDonalds is fairly new. It's nice they have a large carpark available, especially in this busy area filled with eateries. The carpark is a huge plus as parking here is scarce.<br/><br/>The Angus burger was good. Neatly stacked just like the cheeseburger. I only wish they filled the fries up a bit more.

Fifth time in a row that drivethrough order was incorrect and had to drive back again from home . No apologies offered from staff. Shake machine broken again . Will avoid this McDonald's

I live around the corner and would prefer to use this branch but EVERY time I have been here the service is extra slow usually waiting about 20min for my order....

I usually go in for breakfast during the weekdays around 7 am. The tables always have crumbs or haven't been wiped down and the seats have food in the inner tucked parts and have seen a cockroach on the floor once. The service is great but I do think the place could be cleaner as it is a food service place.

Can't complain about the taste, it's McDonald's, can't possibly get that wrong. As usual, the fries portions are tiny, order a Medium, get a small. But the worst part does not have to do with the food, and I hope they see this. Went into Mcdonald's Balmoral for brunch, the floor was extremely slippery everywhere, toilets, restaurant itself... Nevermind me falling over, there was a mother with a tiny baby in her arms that could have slipped and had a terrible accident! Perhaps try to clean the floors before people come in or late the night before.

Friendly staff, average maccas portion. It was a Fast service. Tables and toilets could be a little cleaner, other than that a decent fast food meal.

This is a great place but the food takes ages and the tables are really dirty when you are trying to find a clean seat.My advice would be to get some staff to clean tables and wipe floors.

The buns are full of delicious sesame seeds so it makes it more delicious. And that makes my mouth so drooly by the tastes. The fries are not so crunchy because they don’t let them cook a lot. Fries have lots of potatoes inside and that makes the fries a little bit sweet. This Maccas is my local and have probs been here at least 10 times now over the past five years.  <br/>Food wise, its as consistent as you can get for its product.  <br/>Service wise, Iv'e had the odd one or two experiences from staff of the "I hate my job" service  <br/>The environment compared to other maccas I've been to I would say is def above average.  <br/>If I can recall this was one of the first make your own ones in NZ too.

Create your taste experience has always been spectacular and have found myself making the same Burger every time. As far as cleanliness goes, they could be doing better, however it is still well above the average McDonald's cleanliness. They have however, greatly reduced the options available for the Burger creation experience which is a bit disappointing, so it looks as though Greenlane has an even bigger upper hand now. Still, convenient, local and relatively clean for a fast food place, if you're a fan of Maccas this is a good one.

A lot of parking space, and a lot of seats for everyone. This is one of the best McDonald's around town. Went here when the Create your Own burgers started and it was only available here. The burger that I customised was made beautifully and the fries were great as well.

I deleted my other review on here because this place has lowered its standards. Appalling. Came here and ordered a few cheeseburgers and asked for steam buns (as we always do at every mc Donald's)they asked us to wait out at the parking for it to be done waited for 15 mins for it to come. Checked the burgers and they weren't steam buns and the burgers were cold. Went back in the drive through said one of the girls at the drive through counter "excuse me" and she turned around and said "yo" . Sorry but that was just a "what the hell" moment for me. We told them our issue and we had to park outside to wait again. 15 mins later our order finally came. They need to improve on their time efficiency as well as their manner towards a customer. I was watching them for a while as they prepared for take away orders and they looked unorganised. Spilling drinks and running around. Not impressed.

The best McDonalds in NZ where not only the service is good but food is better too nice & hot. The toilets are also so neat not like the other stores. Its very clean & tidy place to stop by & grab a meal....Well done!!

Can i kindly ask you guys to hire more staff if that is the reason why drive thru takes years in your branch? The worst ever. It happened to me twice already! I thought it's a one time event only. I had a little chat with the guy taking the orders and he mentioned that it's because you don't have enough staff. Come on! Why you close so early! <br/><br/>This McDonald's is lazy and closes way too early. This is not about the food, but how the dining area at Balmoral is kept. I go there regularly and enjoy relaxing with a coffee from the McCafe, but have noticed the standards of upkeep slipping -- particularly since the Rarotongan (?) cleaning lady left about a year ago. I always get an extra serviette to wipe the table top, and there is always an accumulation of food crumbs down the sides of the once-nice vinyl armchair-like seats. Last Tuesday I arranged to meet some friends there, and we couldn't sit in that area because something was spilt on the floor. It has become a shoddy embarrassment, sorry to say.

Stopped by for a quick frozen fanta and soft serve after dinner. The order ended up taking very long as the frozen fanta wasn't dispensing properly. About half a cup's worth came out at first and then it took a few minutes for the staff member to fill it to the top. He looked at me sheepishly asking if I wanted that one, to which I honestly replied "no, not really". Understandingly, he tipped it out and tried again with no luck. He offered a frozen coke which I didn't want, as my partner had already gotten one instead. Eventually I was offered a refund which I accepted although my soft serve had melted quite a bit by then (I like putting the two together like a float). What turned this visit around was when they took the time to give me a free frozen fanta while I was sitting down a moment later. They must have gotten the machine working and it was unexpected but lovely of them to remember me even after the refund was made. Good form, McDs Balmoral. Will return for a cheeky soft serve and frozen fanta in the future.

I love a good gourmet burger so I couldn't wait to try McDonalds create your own service in Balmoral McDs. There were heaps of options so you can pretty much make up your perfect burger! We used the self service to order and then they brought it to us. The fries in a basket was also a nice touch!

McDonald's have come a long way with their new Create Your Taste burgers 🍔 Firstly its fun creating your own conception on the touch screens. Secondly the burger arrives at your table looking picture perfect. Tastiest McDonalds I've ever had 👌

This Macdonalds never has their Frozen coke machine working. It is only decent if they put up a sign letting people know they dont have a machine at all.

wouldn't normally write a review about a chain restaurant but this was worth it.<br/>I decided to try out the gourmet make your own burger options and it was delicious. bit pricy to do all the time but chilli jam and mustard makes a burger I have decided . gets served at table with sauces and a refresher<br/> towel which is nice to have. great idea for a treat and don't forget to add crispy bacon to burger if you try it. awesome

Heading home from drinks, Mr M and I were contemplating a quick eat a little out of the norm before heading home to relieve the baby-sitter. It was then I remembered a convo with Two Dark Coffees about the "create your own" burger range at Balmoral McDonalds. Available until 10pm, we squeaked in just in time and it was still a popular choice when we got there.<br/>Only three out of the four touch screens were working- it was unclear whether the fourth was just closed or broken. We stepped up to one of the screens and placed our orders. The interface was relatively easy to use. My only two gripes would be the following:<br/>A) it is currently only set up for beef burger ordering - I'd hope that in future they would roll out at least chicken burger options<br/>B) at only one point are you offered the choice of making it a combo meal. At one point later on we considered it but could not find an easy way to do so and just stuck with the burgers. Regular McDonalds staff appear to be trained in upselling so it was surprising to see a lack of this in the ordering app.<br/>The burgers arrived fairly quickly considering they were constructed from scratch and were presented beautifully. The taste was absolutely spot on too - I was most impressed that the crispy bacon was actually crispy! A simple concept but something never seen before in a New Zealand McDonalds Restaurant - until Balmoral.  <br/> <br/>I was there  4 days after it first got underway and it's taken me 22 weeks to get onto a review, not great statistics but it was something I wanted to keep under wraps...and so did McDonalds. <br/><br/>Balmoral served as the testing grounds for the new project "create your own taste" and there was no official advertising just incase it went bust. Fortunately Instagramers were soon on the scene and from there it became a race to get your hands on your very own burger. <br/><br/>With table service and customisable burgers starting at $10 and working it's way up to $22 (my burger), McDonalds is getting a little bit fancy. <br/><br/>In the centre of Balmoral's McDonalds, stand four digital self-serve kiosks. You can customise everything from the type of bun used to the amount of lettuce placed in your burger. <br/><br/>Burgers are served on wooden boards, fries in metal baskets and additionally you receive a moist toilette. <br/><br/>Some people say it's too expensive for McDonalds and others say it's a cool novelty they'd like to see it in more outlets - I'm with these people. <br/><br/>Don't expect to receive a burger out of this world, but it'll be a damn sight better than choosing one from the original menu.<br/><br/>Sarah Reynolds  #Challenge

We created a burger with no onions. <br/>When the burger arrived my friend saw that there are onions. The lady was really nice about it and took it back. When the burger came back we jokingly said that they only pulled out the onions from the side. <br/>Once he opened the burgers top bun he saw the middle rings of the onion. <br/>Not a huge deal but it would be if a customer was allergic to onions. <br/><br/>We were given a free frozen coke and mcflurry as a compensation but yeah... Nah

We came to try the create your taste burgers and to be honest, these tasted a lot better than normal McDonalds burgers but the price was a little high. Really cute presentation of the meal and a nice touch in customer service by having us seated and delivering the meal to us.

I've only been here since the build your own burger upon encountering a story about it in the New Zealand Herald. I hadn't had McDonalds for about 3 years but after reading about the paleo and not so meaty options just had to try out of curiosity. Had since been a returning customer. No doubt the burgers taste great. Presentation is excellent too. Reason for 3 stars? The last time I went past the place decided to get a strawberry shake via Drive-thru. I have had these in the past visits and tasted great (ugh @ the empty calories though but  so worth it) however the last time it tasted a little bit sour and more runny than usual - ended up throwing the rest away. No upset stomach, but disappointed.

The build your own burgers were great! The screens are very easy to use and the staff are helpful with building your burgers and bringing the meal to you. One small catch is the price does not update as you go on the burgers you make so they can get a bit pricey at the end with all the extras.

The build your own burgers were a great idea. Easy to follow, fun to design and I liked the service. Would have been nice to have a real beef patty though

Gourmet burgers are delicious <br/>Their fillet - o - fish were dissapointing even for Mc Donalds. Oooosing with oil, not crispy at all. Soggy patty.

Since they've been trialling the new design-your-own burger the ordering time for everything (including just your regular Big Macs, etc) has turned soooo slow! I've been a few times recently and have had to wait approx 8 minutes for a standard combo order. Always really lovely, polite service but the speed just needs to dramatically increase! Also - they've got new digital menu screens up behind the counter which change so quickly, by the time you think you've decided what you want to order they flick over to another menu and you have to wait another minute or so to see what you want again. It looks flash but it's just annoying.

Always say i am fans of McDonald (yes... i know it's unhealthy), so when i know they offer the build your own taste menu in Auckland, i asked my hubby to take me there at once!  it's so convenience that they offer 4 machines for customers to build your own burgers (you can order food from the standard menufrom this machine as well).<br/>At this stage, they offer build your own taste for beef burger only - so we just ordered one build your own taste burger and one standard chicken burger.  It's so fun that we can select the indigents and even sauce ourselves.  <br/>After ordering and pay via the machine, we can just select the area we sit, then the waiter will bring our meal to our seat!  The waiter serving us was so energetic and nice even we know he was very busy .<br/>My hubby said the burger is so great and just like those offer in the proper burger restaurant! We were pleasantly surprised with the burger<br/>In generally, it's a very great experience~ Highly recommended!

We came to try the new build your own gourmet burger feature being trialled at Balmoral. It was easy enough to build our burgers with the screens provided and the options were pretty varied so all tastes are provided for. I'm hoping they'll bring out a chicken option at some point but at the moment there's only beef. <br/>It was strange to have a waiter at McDonald's but it was nice to have some interaction with the staff. Our burgers came out on wooden boards and our chips were served in mini frying baskets which was really pretty. I had guacamole and nachos on my burger with bacon and cheese and caramelised onions. It really was a gourmet burger. <br/>I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and hope that they roll this service out more widely soon. <br/><br/>

Worst experience , which is unexpected from the standard of mcdonalds, got the food after waiting in line for 10 mins which I understand as there was only one person on till and others were busy smwhr else, but when I went to pick my car in mcdonalds private carpark It had a parking ticket and when I talked with manager about it he said you talk with the company who look after parking as they have given the responsibility to them, I showed him timing on ticket and my purchase receipt which had almost the same time, but he was rude and instead of helping me he just said he cant do anything, I was given ticket by mistake and he was not even accepting it and went on arguing for long time, and I think this is the last time I will <br/>go to Balmoral Mcdonalds, hope they dont do it again with somebdy else<br/>
