We got the $35 fish and chips. It came with 4 fish. Due to the 4 fish I expected the chips to be enough for 4 people but it was very small. Enough for two.
Otherwise was OK. I feel it's a 3.5 star

The hoki was nice.fell apart when eating it and didn't taste fishy at all.chips were ok and potato fritter oily.i reckon just change the oil more .

Always a decent dinner que to this local legend. Best crabsticks on the coast, everything is delicious and he's very friendly for such a busy shop. A* rated certificate in window for the win.

Finally got to try Brightside after being on the Coast nearly 2 years. Ordered burgers, fish and chips. The burgers were the usual fish and chip shop quality so a bit average, but the fresh snapper was lovely and the chips were fresh and tasty. As per other reviews they clearly change the oil in the fryers regularly, so everything has that clean taste. I'll skip the burgers next time but will definitely be back for more fish and chips.

Good fish and chips in the classic wrapped in paper style. Only marked down from 5 stars because the batter of the fish and potato fritters were oilier than one would like. Chips were good.

Always consistently good. Cheap takeout dinner. Try the king burger. Fish is the freshest around. Chips are perfect. Fridays evenings are the busiest so expect 1/2 hour wait times.

Great chips, I think they change their oil frequently because the chips always taste fresh and are never greasy. All their other food is really good too and reasonably priced. Definitely worth a visit

The fish burgers are so good! My favourite Fish n Chip shop. Friendly staff, clean cooking area, and home cut chips. Perfect.

Yum! Good service and I highly recommend the fresh snapper:) we get fritters too they are great, one scoop gets you a small amount of chips. Snapper is standard size, not too oily, we love the milkshakes here too

Really nice area with beach, park and pool all within walking distance. Delicious fish, probably the best we’ve ever tried! Battered well and you can tell the oil used is clean and changed regularly. I had the bbq chicken burger which was tasty and had a decent amount of chicken in it. My partner had the Hawaiian burger which was AMAZING! Kiddo had the cheeseburger which was great too. Would highly recommend and would definitely revisit.

Ordered $3 chips and 1 spring roll. Got son to run back in and grab it then we drove home to find we have been given 1 scoop of chips and 3x fish. Chips were under cooked and barely enough . Did notice thats what they charged me for though but am very dissapointed that clearly they dont listen as $3chips and 1 Spring roll does not sound like $1 chips and 3 fish. Too far to drive back to wait another half hour for correct order.

I really don't know how this got so many good reviews.<br/><br/>* The fish especially Snapper is extremly small. Just once slice. Usually others give you 1.5 to 2 slices or double the quantity. <br/>* You don't even get a lemon<br/>* Oily.<br/>* Portion of fries is EXTREMELY small! It was not enough for one person.<br/>* I paid about $45 dollars and after we finished we were still so hungry we had to fish out some bread and cheese from the fridge.<br/><br/>I honestly did not like it, and gave them 2 chances by visiting again 2 weeks later, with the same issues above.<br/><br/>I'm adding a .5 above because the owner/chef was kind and smiling.

A great little takeaway place and perfectly located. Directly across the road from the beach it gives you options.<br/><br/>I phone ordered and the takeaways were ready in a very timely fashion. I cant complain at all.<br/><br/>New owners which I can say is a very good thing and I am pleased they are back on track with regular hours.<br/><br/>If you are out that way, its definitely the place to go.

A great local takeaway, with an excellent range of tasty, healthy large burgers at bargain prices. Excellent fish too - fresh, not frozen, not shark, often with a selection available. Best of all, the fish is perfectly cooked every time - with a crisp tasty batter & lightly cooked flesh. Minimum order of chips is $2.50, and that's plenty for 2 or 3 people. (I suspect the negative review below concerning this is fraudulent, or they are gluttons). Since discovering it, my son & I eat from there at least weekly. Super friendly young couple run it, really good people. Phone your order in & pick up 10 minutes later.

Hmmm. New owners and the portion sizes have gone down dramatically. $4 chips used to be plenty, now barely enough for 3 children, let alone 2 adults. Batter not as good either, and tonight when I gave them another try, the oil was obviously very old, chips were dark brown and soggy.
