Excellent food. Salmon risotto was incredible. Real wood oven. Tasty pizza. Very affordable. Total recommendation. House red also was really good! Definitely I will return

Cosy, warm pizza restaurant with great pizzas. Fresh ingredients. Highly recommend! Loved their alla capriciosca pizza especially!

I really like going here... 3rd time... The garlic bread is nice, a little different to everywhere else... I had the chicken Fettuccine 1st and 3rd time and chicken Risotto the 2nd time and all 3 times its been YUMM...

Went there as 3 but staff still allow us to order 4 dishes (coupon for 4 people) to share. Nice service from waiters, yummy entree and pizzas! Just a little too small portions for the 2 pastas and was surprised to dig into broken spaghetti instead of long ones which you can roll up with your fork. Wait time for pastas and pizzas was a bit long after entree, was expecting hot dishes even so but turned out they were almost warm. Would be better if food was served directly when they are made. Overall not bad experience, thank you!

I first knew of this place, alongside my Oldest Daughter. She had done an Assignment, that surrounded this Particular Restaurant. I'm glad to say that she passed, with Flying Colours, with an Excellence, under her belt. That was many years ago. That was our First taste of their Delightful Pizza. From then on,Me and my Kids have been here, quite a few times. Everytime we have been there,we surely have not been disappointed. Only one time,I had a minor disagreement with the owner via Phone, which really angered me. He was very rude, but I retaliated. It has not stopped me from going there though. I am looking forward to going there once again, for a Yummy Feed.

I had the chicken risotto, pizza and pizza bread. Risotto portion is small but absolutely delicious. Price however, is extremely reasonable. Pizza bread could have been a bit crispier and the dip is an aioli mayonnaise. Pizzas are small, on the pricier side and I've had better for $21. If you get the online voucher for 3 course meal, read it carefully. They only have 1 desert...Ice cream (1 flavour). Overall, great value for money on risotto and pasta dishes.

We had dinner tonight and we're extremely impressed. The place was easy to find and has plenty of parking right outside. The restaurant was very clean and the owner and staff we're extremely professional, polite and very sweet. We shared the garlic bread for entree and it was beautifully light. For mains we chose the chicken fettuccine and salmon risotto which we're delicious and the perfect size. We finished with ice cream. We would highly recommend Lil'e Roma to anyone and will definitely be back 😊

Well I had a good experience using a voucher. Booked on the day no problem, arrived early and were seated without fuss. Service was quietly efficient with each course coming out as soon as we'd finished the previous course. Food was very tasty and just enough to satisfy. Atmosphere was modern cosy. Would go there again.

My friends and I purchased a Groupon voucher for this restaurant. We got the $55 for 6 people and then $20 for 2. When split between all of us, we were all paying $10 each for a 3 course meal. We were a bit hesitant about dining there because of the reviews everyone has put. We were prepared for what may have been a waste of money. However, we were proven wrong. The girl that was on and was serving us was very polite and tended to us when needed or requested. Food was good and out in a timely manner & we were very happy by the end of it. I'm not sorry that you all had a bad experience, but I mean at the end of the day, we don't actually know what was going on. The staff may have been having an off day etc. No excuses for being rude, but think before acting perhaps! Choice mate 👍🏼

Me and My partner dined here lastnight and we both really enjoyed everything, the restaurant was clean and the food was amazing. we had the $20 groupon deal which I would have paid full price. such a Bargain couldnt complain. had a really good talk with the owner of the business , he is such a genuine man working so hard to keep his business alive, I would recommend to everyone. Keep Up the work and we will visit again soon !!! :) +++++

Have driven past a few times and looks good. Have also picked up for Uber eats. Takeaways was the order of the day. Had a pizza and garlic bread. Bases are hand made and delicious. Called ahead and it was coming out if the oven as I walked in. Will definitely be back and try eating in next time.

I was looking forward to dining here but when I arrived the service was rude and disrespectful. Will not be going back anytime soon.

My wife and I arrived with our 4 year old daughter on Saturday 28/02/2020, just after 12pm. There was just one staff and he didn’t even welcome or greet us. <br/><br/>We told him we had a groupon voucher and sat at one of the six empty tables. After a quick look at the menu we ordered salmon risotto and one of the pizzas. He told us in quite a grumpy tone that he was out of risotto. I found that very doubtful. It was even on the chef special board for all to see. I just don’t think he wanted to give us a risotto as part of the groupon voucher. <br/>So we ordered Bolognese instead. <br/><br/>Food came quickly which was the only good thing about eating here. The food itself was flavourless, just slopped on a plate like you’d expect in a concentration camp, and the pizza wasn’t even as good as a home cooked one. Lots of cheese, and a sprinkle of other bits, burnt crust, but not much else. <br/><br/>And the paultry serving of the ice-cream (also part of the groupon voucher) was gone in one tea spoon. <br/><br/>The guy working that day was by himself – and boy was he one really grumpy, grumpy dude. When I asked for a milkshake (clearly on the menu) he yelled at me saying there is no milkshake maker. <br/><br/>Some options this place could consider to really improve: <br/><br/>1) Update the menu to reflect what people can order.<br/>2) If you don’t have risotto, perhaps don’t advertise it as the chef special.<br/>3) Don’t yell at customers.<br/>4) Smile and say thank you. <br/>5) Update the staff to friendly, personable people – and ones that can smile - and who actually want to be there.<br/>6) If you are going to try and increase business by offering a groupon voucher or similar deal, honour it - and don’t bullshit to customers. (Groupon should kick this place off its listings).<br/><br/>This guy is beyond hopeless and has no idea of customer service. Not once did he say hello, or offer any type of welcome, or engage in any conversation (didn't even say anything as he bought our meals to the table and took them away). And as we called out goodbye, he couldn’t even say goodbye. Pathetic and should not be in business. <br/> <br/>Won’t ever return.
Anel Viljoen
Thought it was a pretty good dining experience. The guys running the place and cooking the food was very friendly and greeted us with smiles. Would have preferred our drinks in a closed can rather than poured into a glass, but it’s not a huge fuss. Overall, we enjoyed it.
Sidney Nasson
Matt provides a terrible service. Did not want to provide what was on the Groupon voucher and then told us to piss off in front of my 7 and 9 year old. They cried when we left. I have seen similar reviews. Please take this restaurant off your website.
Charlotteeats12
The groupon deal was good value with dessert, a main and starter for $10 each ($20 total). We purchased drinks as well and these were also pretty cheap. The place was clean and food came out quickly. In saying this, I would have been very disappointed if I paid full price for the meals. The pizza was similar to home made in the oven which is fine, just not worth $20. I saw reviews before I went that said the owner was rude but I think he was just more awkward around people than anything, which is fine with me. Overall the groupon deal is good value for a three course meal out, but keep in mind at $10pp you get what you pay for. Feedback for the owner - work on making the pizza taste wood fired and your quality will increase so much.
Tapasya.aashish
Used the $20 groupon voucher - I've used this one before so knew exactly what to expect. Came for the pasta, which I had really enjoyed the previous time.<br/><br/>Only after taking about 5 minutes deciding what we wanted and relaying it to our server were we told they were out of pasta - it was only 7pm?) and hence could only order 2 pizzas..There was also a table of full paying diners eating various pastas..<br/>Asked for a drinks menu but was told they don't have one (??) Not quite sure of the logic as I would have actually paid for the drink..<br/>Incredibly off-putting service<br/>
Chaun T
Purchased Groupon voucher for $20. Didn't expect much but mate, what a disappointment. Stingy portions and crap ingredients. Not worth it! Better off going to Pizzahut.
Abraham Ranjbar
Visited tonight with my Wife and Children.<br/>Very good value for Money.<br/>All enjoyed our food.<br/>Wouldn't say it's 5star pizza but tasty.<br/>Pasta was tasty.
Siddy
Horrible n rude person who serves you and takes calls! His eye was all infected and he wont bother wear gloves. Pizzas just had cheese on it! Never ever going back, i dont know HOW he is in business, appalling service and food
Nina
Genuinely disappointing place overall, I wonder how they still get customers (probably the Groupon deal). The owners are a little hard to communicate with and everything generally tastes average. Don't bother.
Harrass
We have been here a few times and our experiences have been good and consistent. Both pizzas and pastas taste fresh and have a good balance in flavours. Staff and service is quick and friendly, and prices reasonable. Good casual place for a tasty comforting meal.
FoodieBeast
Good service. Food is ok. Drove a bit of distance to try woodfired pizza and was a little dissapointed.<br/>Garlic prawns are ok though. Not a place I'd recommend but then again everyone to their own taste.
Craig Henderson
Very poor. Staff stared at us throughout our meal making us feel uncomfortable & were generally unfriendly. Pizza was average, I've had better from the oven at home. Not so much as a goodbye on leaving. Only good thing was fast service, though at times was a bit too fast, dessert was on the table before we had finished pizzas.
Emma Rose Cottrell
I used a groupon to have a nice meal for my son's birthday. We were promptly given menus and our table. I am a coeliac so I phoned to enquire about gluten free options and I was told that it was all good. Upon arrival I was informed that a gluten free base would cost me $16 on top of the groupon. This was a slightly annoying inconvenience but I paid the extra money (which is the equivalent to a whole extra pizza) and waited for my meal. When I was served, my pizza was cold. The waiter apologized and took it away. A few minutes later my pizza came back and it was burnt. It was a rather unpleasant meal but my family enjoyed their pizzas that were not gluten free. We didn't stay for dessert.
Hope 🥰
Pizza and garlic bread 🥖 was nice however ice cream portion was extremely stingy! Literally paid like $6 or something for 3 teaspoons of regular cookies and cream ice cream ☹️
Grace
Not a bad place but just average. Pizza just taste home made nothing special. Service is not good but food was serve promptly. Everything was reasonably priced, ice cream serving was absolutely tiny. Would not return.
Fritz Darryl Simanjuntak
Owner of this establishment seems like a scum. Gordon Ramsay, please film Kitchen Nightmares in this restaurant. Will be a great episode. Lol
Dhruv Pahuja
Don't ever go there, never ever if you read this review. Extremely rude, didn't get to try the food, well that's good because they want booking when restaurant is empty.
Patricia Terry
Went for a late lunch on sunday, the owner was lovely, looked tired as he is running  it own his own for long hours, but still very welcoming and not in your face all the timee. we have garlic pizza, then a main of ham mushroom and bacon pizza with a smoked chicken fetticune. he makes his own pasta and it was light and delicate with lots of flavour. the two of us were really impressed. give this place a go well worth it. or pop in on your way home hes does the pasta as takeaways as well
Rozanne Fernando
Seems like extremely rude owner ! Never go there .... the reviews are scary , how he threaten the customers .. this is so unbelievable .. !!
Cory Bayton
Just the best! Could this be the best pizza in Auckland??! Base was perfect, toppings were generous, they nailed it! Definitely returning. Thanks!
Kai Mai
Overly priced + underwhelming customer service = half cooked pizza. Should have considered the reviews of this place before checking it out. Wasted $50 on rubbish that we didn’t end up eating in the end. Customer service almost non-existent. Perfect location for some other willing food business to take over. Would not recommend nor return.
Amanda
Bought a deal voucher for $20. The first time I came I didn't book the place and he sent us home even though the place was empty. We came again 2 weeks after got it booked. It was only one guy that serve and make the food and it was only me and my partner at the time. I got 2 pizzas, bread garlic, and one ice cream. My experience would be "awkward". The guy was keep staring at us and I would say it wasn't a friendly service. I like the garlic bread but not so much for the pizza, the portion was alright for 2 people. I don't think I would ever come again.
Geoffrey Leonard
The server/chef was very angry the moment we walked into the restaurant and he didn't have a smile. Very grumpy. Absolute worst customer service I've ever experienced. We seemed like an inconvenience to him. Don't expect these three words from him - thank you, please and sorry. Food was good except the salmon pizza was slightly salty and was worth it with a Groupon voucher but stay away if you don't have a voucher. Go there for the food but expect absolute rudeness shown towards you. Be warned.
Emma
I walked into this place with my friend fully aware of its reputation on Zomato but, armed with a groupon voucher, decided to give it a chance. It definitely surpassed my expectations by a fair amount although admittedly they were not high to begin with. The service (which this place seems to be infamous for) wasn’t terrible or even bad. No smiles or warm greetings but it wasn’t unfriendly either. It was quick and efficient which worked for me as well. We were also the only ones in the restaurant dining (a friend of the owner was also present having a nice chat him) which was a bit awkward at first but not entirely unpleasant. The food actually arrived very quickly with maybe a 10 minute wait tops for the starter. The pizza bread starter was pretty good and the dip that it came with was tasty. The pizzas were hot and fresh and the amount of toppings seemed pretty standard. The food was pretty decent, although the pizzas could do with maybe a bit more sauce as they were a little dry by the end. For $20, the meal was definitely decent value although given its distant location from where I live, I’d struggle to find reason to come back. If you live nearby then this place isn’t wholly bad. My personal experience here was good although I am aware that others may not have felt the same way.

Nothing but great vibes here at Lil'e Roma Woodfired Pizza. Went here last night for my friend's birthday. The service was great, the place is very busy and the food was amazing. Takes me back to Italy! Prices are quite high however food is top notch. The ambience and the service also makes up for it. I ordered the Fettuccine Alla Amatriciana and can of Coke for drink. Loved both very much! Thank you Parvis, you master of a chef! :)

Came here on a Groupon voucher and had not read the reviews before on here. I honestly think the food was great. 2 pastas were really tasty and I enjoyed the garlic pizza bread. Not a bad deal at all for $20 for 2 people including ice cream. Also checked out the menu which had reasonable prices. I would definitely come back here again. The only improvement I can think of is for the staff to smile a little bit more :)

Fantastic food. Pasta was delicious and pizza was fantastic. If your looking for a great wood fire pizza at a good cost I would suggest this place. Service was good and we didn't wait any longer than 10 mins for the food to start coming. Will definitely be coming back.
Samuel Brown
Worst service I have ever received. He swore at us and told us to leave the shop because we were 20 mins late for our reservation. He told us to get.out and go somewhere else after I asked if we should come back later. 0/10 but I can't even rate that low. Shut him down.

*WARNING*<br/>If anyone is going to write an honest review (like a bad experience or even an average experience) be prepared to have your review abused by the owner. <br/><br/>My review was a positive one and I feel the owner still didn't appreciate it. If you look at the other reviews you can see the owner abuses the reviewers with swearing and racist comments.<br/><br/>Got a chicken fettuccine with uber eats. Enjoyed the flavours and the fettuccine was cooked nicely. Lathered in a generous amount of sauce.<br/>

like everyone else, we decided to get Italian food through Groupon. They had a huge discount of a 3 course meal which includes:<br/>• starter of pizza bread entreé<br/>• 2 main course that is below $20<br/>• and 2 dessert of cookies and cream ice cream<br/>All for $20 for 2pax.<br/><br/>The food was below average if u didn't purchase the voucher, def not worth the original price. <br/>Pizza bread was pretty doughy although it came out hot, the main course took at least 20mins later to arrive. <br/>The Catari was under seasoned, unlike the Fettucine Smoked Chicken which was way too salty (had to dilute it with water). The only thing we could look forward to was our ice cream, but unfortunately Vanilla was given to us instead. It would be nice if they informed us about it 😣<br/><br/>In overall, it was "kinda" worth it for $20?

WORST SERVICE EVER!! Went in and the owner refused to serve us because we hadn't made a booking but the place was dead empty! The guys eye was weeping onto the bench! He was yelling (not exaggerating) at my partner and I so much that he was spitting not to mention his breath was horrendous! Dirtiest place and worst customer service! Don't waste your time and money here, you'll most likely booted out. <br/><br/>Also the guy abuses his customers on his FB page when they give feedback.
Aimee.
I came into this restaurant without reading any reviews. Big mistake. I'm surprised this place is still up and running. I felt a bit sorry for the chef/waiter because he was the only one in the restaurant so he has to take orders, send food out and also make the food. The food was terrible and bland and the portions were tiny. There is no way the pizza base and garlic bread base is made fresh in a wood fire. It was extremely dry and they gave us some sauce in a teaspoon- really strange. Everything was under seasoned and I was very under whelmed. I would never come here again even if it was free. The ice cream was something you can buy from the supermarket and eat at home. It's a no from me.<br/><br/>Update- the owners (Parvis Jhan and Kirito) are now commenting on negative/bad reviews and calling us liars and being racist. Stay away. Hope this business goes under. What a joke.
Catherinek37
Had a Groupon voucher, tried to make a booking but the guy said "come now", also didn't even give me time to say "can we book for 730". When we got there, it was only 720PM and the first thing the owner said was "we don't do the vouchers after 730PM" ?? Not sure where that information was but we did not feel welcome at all. We had a disagreement and ended up staying for an awkward dinner, we were the only customers! Waiter was quiet and nice, owner is bad.. not sure why he is running the business with that kind of attitude. Anyways food was below average. I do not recommend but go for a try, maybe you will like it! Me and my partner just had a very bad experience. 😭
Phoenixlovestodine
Was so disheartened when I dined into this place. The staff was rude, very unpleasant and looked like did not sleep at all. Foods were okay but I will NOT go back for sure.

Got groupon voucher for dinner for two at 20 dollar.<br/>Starts with bread with dip and main then followed by ice cream with caramel sauce.<br/>Would say it was too bad nor delicious.<br/>Not too bad.

One of those places that you might end up visiting only once. Used the groupon deal like everyone else. Ordered the smoked chicken pasta, which was quite nice. The pasta was slightly undercooked but the flavours were tasty (garlicky and a nice smoked flavour). The pizza was very disappointing. Not enough topping, base wasn't great either- didn't taste good overall. The appetiser was pizza garlic bread which was decent too. The dessert (wasn't the one from the menu- couldn't decipher what it was) could easily be passed on. Looked and tasted like something that came out of a supermarket bought box. <br/><br/>The service was blah. No smiles, no enthusiasm. Everyone looked like they were forced to work there. But the food did turn up quite quickly (mostly because there were no customers apart from us). <br/><br/>I'm not sure I'll go back. Even if I do, it would only be for the pasta, in the hope that the fettuccine is cooked this time.

Purchased a 3course meal for 2 from groupon because it seemed like a steal. Only after my purchase i went searching for reviews and to my horror most of what i read was negative. In my head i was deadset on my visit being a disaster.... however on arriving we were greeted and seated. The guy that served us seemed to be on his own working both the kitchen and frontline. Food came out fairly quickly. Pizza bread and dip was delicious, i couldve happily devoured another plateful. The smoked chicken fettuccini was creamy/ Smokey and with generous portions of chicken. The pepperoni pizza was pretty average but for the price we paid i wasnt about to complain. Ice cream is ice cream so wasnt expecting it to be mouthwatering. Space was clean. <br/><br/>Over all i was pleasantly surprised. I went in expecting the worse but left a happy customer. Not sure if we were just lucky to have caught them on one of their good days or what but i enjoyed myself. <br/>

<br/>Nice waiters but the owner was terrible. Had an argument with poor staff members out the back and customers were left to hear every swear word. Decent food.

We weren't expecting much after reading some pretty mediocre reviews here - quite frankly, we went to a different restaurant - it was clean, tidy, well presented with luxury tables and good quality plates etc - very pleasantly surprised - and the food was superb - we can honestly say the best pizzas we have had in Auckland - better than wood-fired pizzas we have had in Ponsonby and Mission Bay - all three courses were excellent, and the dessert blew me away (a small ball of gourmet ice cream, surrounded by gelato containing lots of hokey-pokey type pieces, all covered with a delicious choc sauce) - it was the perfect finish to the meal, and we left with big smiles on our faces - just as it should be when you eat out - I can't wait to go back again<br/><br/>It was very reasonably priced, but quite frankly, it was top-notch whatever the price - that's how good it was<br/><br/>If people want to have excellent food choices in Auckland - rather than very mediocre takeaway chains, particularly in pizzas - then they should support small businesses like this, rather than knocking them<br/><br/>I would say - give this place a try - I was very impressed
Keshia Petherbridge
Terrible restaurant, treats customers as if we are peasants looking for freebies, something going on with the chefs eye which he was constantly rubbing while preparing our meals.<br/><br/>Food was less than impressive and coffee tasted like muddy water
S&G Take Auckland
Came here on a Grabone last year and was quite underwhelmed. I mean you can't expect much for $25 for two so i guess that's why it's half way there at a 2.5/5<br/><br/>For starters we had garlic pizza bread. Which was just dough basically baked with a few garlic flakes, nothing great. <br/><br/>For mains we had a salmon risotto which tasted packet made and was not very good. The pizza had very few toppings and i ended up wasting all the crust.<br/><br/>Dessert was strawberry and vanilla ice cream which we actually passed on.<br/><br/>If you don't mind mediocre quality and a cheap eat it's okay.
Lissy Fehnker
Although the reviews are bad we took a chance, and we are very glad we did. <br/><br/>We turned up over an hour late due to Auckland traffic but we're still greeted with warm hospitality from the owner and a man starting his first day. Both were very accomodating!! Food was very flavoursome, with intricate flavours and home made dough in the pizza and garlic bread was to die for. <br/><br/>Everyone making nasty comments and attacking the owners character give him a break, we all just try to do the best we can...we never know someone's back story. Thank you for the pleasant experience, we will definitely be back in the future.
Amy Zeng
Went with my son for lunch. The owner was rather introverted but nevertheless served the orders in a short period of time. The risotto tasted great, packed with very intricate flavors and seasonings. The pizza my son ordered, too, was packed with flavor. There were no signs of corner cutting or cold shouldering as suggested by many of the reviews here. If anything, our experience was more than satisfactory.
Kristal Montrose
Used a grouponz voucher to purchase two woodfired pizzas. Glad I did as it was not worth paying full price. The pizzas were smaller than the 12" stated size and the toppings were almost non-existent. We got one pepperoni and one smoked chicken pizza. Taste was average.
Rochelle Peck
Probably the most unfriendly restaurant I have EVER been to. Just awful. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. The owner had junkie eye and was so off putting. The waitress was giving us our next meal while we were still eating the previous. The food was rather average too. Not sure how long this place will be in existence.
Yane Cruz
Phone booking customer service was so rude.<br/>I called to book my voucher under Groupon Feb 17, around 1.10pm to 1.20pm asking if there's any available slot for that night. <br/>Informing me the available slot is 6pm, (not suitable for me) then I asked again for if there's any time available in different days. All of a sudden the phone operator shouted at me telling that there is no other available time. To all my dismay I ask HIM what's your name? Answering me "my name is not your business", so unprofessional and rude way to treat your customers. Then hang the phone after I asked again HIS name. I already complain about this matter in Groupon.<br/><br/><br/>I read all the good reviews about your restaurant, but I am so disappointed about what happened.<br/>If your having bad day (phone customer operator) don't bring that at work.<br/>
Donna&Shane
I came here to get lunch to take back to work... hot wood-fired pizza on a rainy day of course works well! I'm not really a fan of pizza myself... seemed abit skimpy on the toppings part but nice pizza base. The wood-fired prawns were yummy that I had! Service was fine for takeaways. Clean place too.
Melody Chow
His pizzas are always great and the garlic bread is just awesome!  Give the owner a break, he's doing a great job and his food are always awesome.
S_Kelly
We had poor service when we went with our voucher. The owner was rude to us and his staff from the time we arrived for our booking.  Food was okay though the toppings were very sparce (no doubt due to the voucher).  We're local so we hoped this was going to be an awesome pizza place. But nope, we'll not be back.
Henry Klisser
Terrible service. Terrible food place won't be around much longer. Aggressive staff and not worth wasting your time to even try as it's just disappointing
Garry Ko
Been there a lot of times, great pizza, friendly owner. Sad to hear latest saga from Grabone, Grabone is the one to blame not the business owner.<br/><br/>

I called Lil'e Roma at 8:10 Pm ( approx. ) and spoke to the manager ( the most stupid and Clownish manager I have ever dealt with ). They say Customer service is the key to hospitality business, which does not exist in this place at all!!  Anyway,  I called up to order and asked him If the email voucher will be fine. And you wouldn't imagine what he said to me!!! He said we need to see the email. I repeated would the voucher as pdf be fine for you..?And you wouldn't imagine what he said to me!!!   He replied," we need to see the voucher" and "why are you making it too difficult for me" Then obviously I said something back to him and then said ," Luckily you are not in front of me, I would have pushed you on the corner and smashed you" He does not deserve to be the manager and deserve to get fired only!! WOW... what an amazing experience. I can not comment on the food as I did not even get a chance to try it hahaha. Horrible..... as hell. I can imagine that this place is quiet  and I can clearly what the reason is ( this Clown Manager ). P.S. to the Boss only - You have a lot of work to do in the restaurant! I would never ever recommend this place to anyone due to this horrifying experience I had over the phone.

Reposting the review I posted on Google.<br/>My experience here was terrible. We had visited after seeing a deal for All You Can Eat Pizza on GrabOne or one of those other sites. We got there at the time we had made our reservation, at first we were greeted with warm smiles, but when the chef saw we had a voucher, his smile disappeared and he never a word to us afterwards. We were seated by a waitress who helped us through the selection process, however when I asked about some condiments (you know, basic stuff, salt, pepper) for the table, we were told by the chef that "extra toppings will be charged for". And we even overheard the chef telling the waitress to prioritize other tables over us because of our voucher. The only reason this isn't a one star review is because the waitress was very apologetic and helpful to us. Looking at what was served at the other tables, decent looking pizzas, compared to obvious rush jobs put out onto our table. I then witnessed another group come in, and same thing, warm welcomes, until the voucher came out and the chef again turned into the meanest person in the room. Word of advice Lil Roma's Pizza...the vouchers are great for bringing in new customers, but if you're going to treat us like trash with behavior like that, that is a sure way to permanently lose customers. To anyone reading this, I would 100% not recommend coming here at all.

Had a Grabone 3 course meal voucher. I called them and the manager/Pizza Chef/Owner picked up the call. Felt like ignored as I had Grabone voucher and he (very rudely) said there's no place available for today. I asked if I can pick up. He said okay. Upon arrival, his face felt representing his rude nature with rude and arrogant look and no smile (I even wondered if he had ever smiled in his life). Rudely took our order. On the top, the pizza was awful with uncooked tomato slice (single) and (two) olives. I had to split both the olives myself. negligible quantity of ingredients on the pizzas. There was no taste of garlic in the garlic bread. Just a butter Naan it was. And he didn't provide a take-away spoon for the take away Ice-cream (which was round blocks out of 2L tip top pack). Me and my wife had to eat the ice-cream with a leftover burnt-solid piece of pizza (How romantic!!!) as we were a long way from home.<br/><br/>i really pity the two staffs working under him to whom he was shouting all the time. They were really kind and helpful and the lady who was serving the customers definitely deserves something much better than this.
Gerald Martin
We had garlic bread, fettuccine and spaghetti on this Friday. enjoyed the garlic bread but the recipe of fettuccine has changed. it wasn't as delicious as it used to be before. I still remember the taste of spaghetti, I had it last month.

Used a Grab-One voucher.  Good deal for the price.    $20 for three course meal for two people!  starter (pizza bread), any choice of 2 mains (pizza or pasta) and a basic desert each.  Good food but average service for a low price.  Good tasting pizza.    Just dont expect too much.  good value for money.  A liitle over-prompt service as mentioned in other reviews,  But no  problem for waiter when we asked for a little more time to decide.  <br/>Maybe slightly under staffed. Would return on the special deal again.

The owner/chef was very rude from the start, making it clear that he was only begrudgingly accepting my Groupon Voucher, "hoping someone else doesn't come along." There was only a small family with 3 young children and me in the place. Next there was the sound of a glass breaking in the kitchen and him berating and swearing loudly at a staff person, going on and on. Even the poor waitress was grimacing  and looking actually fearful. I called out to him that I found all of this awful, unacceptable and that I didn't want someone in his frame of mind preparing my meal - that I wanted my money back. He hesitated, then refunded my money. The parents of the young family voiced their agreement with me and left too.

I had brought a Groupon voucher for this place which was $20 for 1 entree, 2 mains and 2 desserts. I was abit apprehensive about this place as I had read bad zomato reviews however as it was so cheap I decided to give it a go. There is a limited choice on the menu especially for entrees and desserts meaning it only took my partner and I afew Minutes to decide what we were wanting to order. We got a pizza bread and dip, smoked chicken fettuccine, kiwiana pizza and the ice creams (for all of which pictures are provided). After we sat down our waiter came back within 3 minutes to take our orders and our garlic bread was there within 5 minutes. As soon as we finished each dish the next one would be there within 2 minutes meaning our dining experience was very fast and efficient. However only 2 people were working (one in the kitchen and one out the front) meaning that they were too busy trying to make the meals and taking orders that they forgot to clear the tables. In regards to the food, the garlic bread and the pizza were both delicious however I feel that you could make it yourself at home as it was quite basic. The pasta was average as it had clumps of garlic all through out it and some of the pasta was undercooked as it was hard and chewy. Also there was minimal sauce with the pasta, there needed to be more. In regards to the ice creams on the menu it says we were to get cookies and cream ice cream with chocolate sauce and real cookies in cream. However what we actually received was 3 scoops of ice cream, 1 boysenberry, 1 cookies and cream and 1 banana and chocolate. So not only did the ice cream deviate from what was stated in the menu but also the so called pizza bread with dips which was actually garlic bread with 1 dip. The decor of the restaurant inside was pleasant and modern however from the outside it looks more like a takeaway shop meaning that a different type of customer is attracted therefore you had people dining in leather chairs in hoodies and track pants. There is also very limited seating space with roughly 22 people being able to sit at tables as well as fitting another 6 on bar stool type things at the counter. Overall, I would not come here if I was paying full price and therefore would not go back there again.

Ordered a pizza from lil'e Roma tonight. I used a grab one voucher which reduced the price of the pizza from $20 to $9. Didn't mention the voucher on the phone as nothing stated on the voucher instruction to do so.<br/><br/>When I got there and showed the owner, Parvis, my voucher I was told off for not mentioning it. I asked "where did it say on the voucher I was meant to say this". From then on he said nothing, scribbled the voucher number down, and walked off.<br/><br/>0/5 for customer service.<br/><br/>The pizza itself - I ordered a pizza with spinach, bacon and prawns. A total of about 6 little prawns on the pizza ie less than one per slice. Spinach just in a clump in the middle.<br/><br/>Fortunately I am not a fussy eater and finished the meal so have to at least given 1.5 - but no more.<br/><br/>Even at the discounted price this did not represent good value. I felt sorry for the diners in the restaurant paying full price!<br/><br/>Would not recommend.

We come here all the time... we love the food. Pizza is wood fired and very nice and the pasta is gorgeous. I have taken a few friends there since and we are always happy :)<br/>Simple small restaurant with a small menu but all the the meals there are nice :)

Bought a voucher and had dinner three days ago.  The restaurant is quite small but has a pleasant decor.  The service was good and friendly.  We had garlic bread, pizza, fettucine and spaghetti.  Finally, three scope of ice scream for dessert.  My only adverse comment was that the fettucine was pretty dry, though the taste was quite good. But if made with sufficient sauce, it should taste better.  Generally we were happy with the meal.  Definitely considering going back for a second round of food.<br/><br/>By the way lots of parking in front of the restaurant.<br/><br/>Sorry, photos are not too clear.

Incredibly disappointed! As soon as we arrived with our Groupon voucher we received the cold shoulder and zero eye contact. The table was dirty and we had to ask for it to be cleaned. Although the worst part was the owner (I think) was treating one of the young waitresses horribly, yelling at her in front of all the customers. It got so bad my partner almost stepped in. The food was below average my pasta was so oily I felt ill after it and our pizza lacked flavour and meat. You couldn't pay me to go back there!

Food: Below average<br/>Service: Horrible<br/><br/>I purchased a $20 Groupon voucher and went with a friend. We did not receive a friendly welcome on arrival, we were told to sit at a very small table in the corner, food didn't have much taste, portion was small, we paid extra for our drinks and they weren't good, during dinner manager got into a loud argument with the employee about working hours right in front of us. Would not recommend to anyone, wouldn't go back again. Very bad experience.

4 of us went here for dinner with a grabone voucher. Given that we all aid roughly $10 for dinner it was ok but I wouldn't go back and pay full prices for this place. Food wasn't good and service was appalling.

We dined in and it was incredibly overpriced. Entrees, they are a very small serving and the pizzas have barely any toppings, however were tasty. Overall pretty disappointing. :(

EDIT!!!<br/>Added a photo! Because... Received this disgusting and unprofessional Facebook message from what I'm guessing is the owner of this restaurant. Just a heads up guys!! This place is absolute TRASH!!!!! DO NOT GO HERE!!<br/><br/>Was lead to this place via the $20 voucher on GrabOne and I can honestly say $20 would be the MAX I'd pay for this place.<br/>Gordon Ramsy really needs to visit it and spruce it up in many levels. To start, the decor and table settings weren't great. We actually booked a table and it wasn't even set (only one fork for two people??).<br/>The service was average. The waitress was too occupied with the table next to us to give us attention. And when she did give us attention to order food she was constantly talking to the other table. <br/>I honestly felt like I was a burden for the people running the restaurant and thought I was being rude asking for more water or napkins, even though this is usually a normal request.<br/>Won't even get started on the food because it wasn't good either. For example, garlic bread- the garlic was just aoeli for you to dip cooked bread into and the desert were tiny scoops of TipTop Ice cream....<br/>Wouldn't recommend ANYONE to buy the GrabOne deal or go to this place and pay normal prices.

Seriously curious if people are paid to write good rating&comments here....<br/><br/>THe chef/owner with the strange, watery eye with a big mole was scary as soon as me and my friend stepped in the restaurant.<br/><br/>He originally kept a smiling face, which turned satanic after we told him we came with grabone vouchers.. lol.<br/><br/>He said we can only order more pizza if we finished what we ordered first.<br/>We thought, fair enough!. But when the first margherita pizza came.....we thought.. maybe not?<br/>Only the middle part had some sort of toppings, and the rest was just plain bit undercooked dough.<br/>It was agony trying to finish the first pizza, and when we ordered the second one hoping it would be a better quality, our hopes were crushed...<br/><br/>Then we gave him the coupon, which he actually just checked the QR code, then crumped the paper infront of us!! <br/><br/>I can say confidently that we will never return to this place again.

This place has potential but needs a little attention. The restaurant decor is pretty average and could do with a bit of work. The service wasnt anything to rave on about and was lacking friendliness - we felt they were mainly focused on getting people in and out quickly. <br/><br/>Value for money was very good as we got a voucher on grabone for $20 - one garlic bread, two pizza or pastas and two desserts. The garlic bread was brought to us within 10mins of arrival and all other dishes were served promptly. For our mains we ordered the Creamy smoked fettuccine and Alla Puttanesca pizza. The portions were good for a three course meal. The pasta was lacking the creaminess most would be used to, but was still a nice lighter option. The pizza was good and they have plenty of options to choose from. Dessert was very simple - 3 small scoops of icecream. We didn't mind much as we were pretty full but would not recommend this place for dessert.<br/><br/>We were satisfied with the food due to such a great deal with our voucher but would have been let down if we were paying full price. I wouldn't be rushing here to return but is good value if you have a voucher.

I've dined here a couple of times using a voucher and they serve very good pizzas. Had a voucher miscommunication once but dailydo and Lil'e Roma provided a satisfactory outcome. Hint: takeaway has a much better serving portion than dine-in 😉

My mother and I dined out here two weeks ago. The owner was rude to us and the owner was also rude to the lady that was working with him. The pizza was also budget. We will never go back there ever, don't waste your money.

Terrible place to come. Especially with a voucher. Got placed on a tiny table after i askd if we could sit else where with attude from waiter. My partner got a dirty look from the cheif/owner. I told my partner to be polite. Then a older lady was trying to pay her bill and the cheif started arguing with the customer telling her she broke the eftpos ( might I add the chief shouldn't be handling the till) my partner said 'excuse me you need to chill out' to cheif as we were siting right by it all. Anyway a big argument started from cheif ( CUSTOMERS ARE ALWAYS IN THE RIGHT, IF NOT AT LEAST BE POLITE) we walked out not having our desert that we paid for and the cheif back chatted by partner telling him 'shave your beard' lol will not go back! Good $20 worth of entertainment though :S

Are you looking for an authentic Italian experience? Do you want to have great pizza and pasta, as well as have the best time of your life with your friends and family. I would highly recommend you to NOT step inside the lair of the Evil Dr.Douchenschmritz. The atmosphere reminded me of my many public bathroom adventures, as I listened to hours of painful rambling on a small TV. The Evil Doctor (Store Owner) will look you in the eye, ripping your soul the moment you utter the taboo - GrabOne voucher. His glare would terrify even Lord Voldemort, as he sits you down in the stingy corner seats. You can see the dark side of the force, emanating from his eyes, his odour, that of a skunk that slept in the sewer. Ordering our mains, we sat, waiting for our friends to join us in the fiery abyss. His pizza took me back to my delightful years in Intermediate, where I created the epitome of the worst pizza ever. However, it saddens me to say, that my monstrous pizza tasted far better than his. A base of naan bread, that tasted like cardboard, smothered in measly vegetables and processed foods. He screamed at us, saying we were making him late, even though we had only been there for half an hour. However, when we asked for dessert, to hurry things along, he raised his wicked voice, as he cackled "GIVE ME FIVE MINUTES!" We were afraid to even ask for a drink, as he tormented us, due to the fact our friends arrived slightly late. He tempted us with cookies and cream icecream, which was tiptop that expired last year. The bathrooms were great as well, the smell as though his previous customers flushed down his gorgeous creations. If you are looking for the worst experience of your life, as well as the Evil doctor insulting your family, please visit Li'le Roma.<br/><br/>P.S. Zomato staff, please add a zero rating button.

NEVER AGAIN! The worst service in New Zealand. We used Grab One voucher and we were "welcomed" by a  grumpy and hostile owner who looked pissed that we used vouchers. he warned us that if we leave leftovers, we will pay the full price (?!?!?). After one hour, we were told that we must leave in 15 minutes, despite the rule of max 2 hour stay in the terms and conditions of the voucher. During our dinner, the staff did not show a single sign of hospitality or kindness. The food was the other awful part of this experience. Traces of processed food over a naan (they call it pizza in this place). Avoid this place at all cost

Had a voucher for 4 people for garlic bread , pizza or pasta and desert.  The customer service was terrible and it did not get any better there.  The garlic bread was dry and lacked any flavour, so did the pasta- it just tasted like they added a jar of pre-made pasta sauce to store brought pasta. The pizza was just very basic with little flavour.  The desert was just scoops of ice cream , not even dressed up in any way. I will not be going back.
DontScrewWihMaFood
Definitely cannot recommend. The idea of all you can eat sounds fun and inviting. Poor staff, quality of pizzas very low and left us all in a stomach ache. Seemed like canned chicken and something was off and smelt odd. Really slow service so you barely get to enjoy the all you can eat experience.

Worst pizza joint I have been to in a long time!!! Service was less than average. The staff at the counter is very rude and no courtesy shown. The waitress also lacks common interaction skills and appears to be a student "just there to pass time".<br/><br/>We had a voucher to use so when we arrived an hour early we hoped they would seat us however the guy was so rude and demanded we return at our booked time. We sat in the car for at least half an hour and to our dissatisfaction we found the place rather empty for that 1 whole hour and we would have actually been done by then.<br/><br/>The pizzas themselves were tasteless and very basic ingredients. Very plain and no flavour with their thin crusts. Definitely recommend you review the opinions of other on this site before you make a decision to go there. I for one definitely will not be taking my family back for a "decent meal"
Dee
Good pizza and pasta. Very tasty and it also has quite a lot of selections to choose from. Price is pretty good and lots of parking available on site as well.

Had a $24 grabone voucher for two people for all you can eat pizza. After reading all the bad reviews on here I had very low expectations. But I think they were great, the pizza was made just right and they were served straight out of the oven. I must say the customer service was a little awkward but they were friendly and checked if we were good with our dishes. Pretty pleased with my dinner tonight. Definitely go back on the condition that it was with a grabone voucher as the menu is quite pricey. Sorry the only photo I had was my snapchat picture with the emoji.

Don't even think of going to this place. Absolutely terribly rude staff, one mopping the floors while people eating. Food well below sub standard quality, the most expensive rubbish I've ever eaten. Overpriced and terrible. Would NOT recommend

IF YOU HAVE A VOUCHER BEWARE! Positive reviews were probably written by the owner himself.<br/><br/>If you have a voucher- forget it! When you decide to take-away 2hrs later you realise you have made one of the biggest mistakes in your life. NO amount of VALUE from a voucher can compensate for how much frustration he causes. <br/><br/> “VOUCHER” is forbidden. His face -as if he was taken hostage. Someone should buy this guy a watch. “45min” he says -2hrs later NOTHING! Voucher=WILL BE SERVED LAST (even if you came 1st). Frustrated customers came, Waited hours and left crying as I waited in my car with kidneys lodged in my lungs while he messed up orders.<br/><br/>Garlic Pizza –maybe he ran out of garlic? Pizzas- TASTELESS! Dessert – ONE scoop.2hrs for this? I should have SAWED MY FOOT OFF and ate it!

This place needs to be shut down!!! or at least taken over by people who actually care about food and customer service. the staff are extremely rude and have no people skills what so ever, I was absolutely disgusted at how the guy treated me on not one but two different occasions. we had a treat me voucher for garlic bread two mains and two deserts however when we ordered we were told we couldnt choose our desert it had to be icecream (which was not written on the voucher) when I brought this to the guys attention he argued with me then hung up on me. We will not be returning and if I could give it a lower score I would.

Popped in with a girlfriend for some wine and pizza and was completely taken aback by the lack of cheese, sauce, and anything close to a fresh ingredient. The kitchen staff were remarkably rude and actually cruel to the lovely young waitress that was serving us. Never going back.

I was driving past and saw the "Woodfired Pizza" sign. I was hungry and I love woodfired pizza. <br/><br/>The value was amazing. I got a beer and a small pizza for only $10-<br/><br/>The pizza when it arrived was truly horrible.<br/>The base was doughy, not even cooked properly, and on top of this soft squidgyness were surprisingly flavourless toppings, including an undercooked, slightly sweaty "pepperoni" that was like a cheap supermarket salami. 90% of the capsicum was on about 10% of the pizza, showing an obvious lack of attention to detail.<br/><br/>As the pizza was undercooked, I asked him to put it back in, explaining I wanted a crispier base. He put it back in the oven on the plate!!!! The base didn't crisp up at all and all that happened was that the top dried out a bit.<br/><br/>It was called "pepperoni", but tasted like a cheap budget supermarket pizza that wasn't properly cooked.<br/><br/>This is the only time I have written a negative review (check my others), but I love good pizza, and this isn't it<br/><br/>The extra 0.5 is for the cheap (Haagen) beer

"We went there on Sunday, we brought voucher from grabone "ALL YOU CAN EAT PIZZA WITH TWO BEER"  has to say it was one of the verse choice we made in our whole life. Waiter never gave a smile, we asked for water 3-4 times, after getting frustrated End up going at the bar for getting glass of water. The bottle cap of water was never washed and covered with black stuff around. Pizza base not cook properly and no one ever care to ask if we need anything else. We felt like we were there for free food that's why they are not giving any attention. <br/>it says you get an house beer. the beer server was so bad i guess they got if for 50cent per bottle. it was really disgusting and the alcohol content was 2%, how can they even call it a beer. all in all the experience was really shameful, we feel like we are beggar who came there for free food. We would never recommend them to anyone. We seriously lost over money here"

I purchased a voucher off grab one quite awhile ago and thought give em a try then. Like everyone else the service wasn't great and the Pizzas were just average. Didn't at all feel welcomed wlby the guy behind the counter. Time between pizzas was long as we couldn't order 1 till we finished 1 which I understand. I havnt been back since and probably won't go back. If I could give -5 I would.

I've been here twice. I have to say the service is pretty bad. Both times we went with an all you can eat voucher from GrabOne/GroupOn. If you get past the service and you work out that you're only paying $7.33 a person for pizza and a drink it's not that bad.<br/><br/>Service: I thought the point of the vouchers was to get people to come in and order other things and then want to come back. When we tried to order additional drinks the waitress looked at us a little stunned and started to say "you'll have to pay for that" Well the beers are only $7 each for a bottle of Peroni so the boys weren't complaining! We had to try and flag down the waitress everytime we wanted something and she wasn't keen on leaving a menu at our table.<br/><br/>Atmosphere: It's not a warm and friendly environment, however I would say that their main business is probably take aways and having dining space for 20 people was just a way to bring in extra revenue. The tables are a bit squished together and if you are at a table for 6 you can pretty much guarantee one person has to climb over everyone too get out to go to the bathroom.<br/><br/>Pizza: The main reason we were there! The average price of a pizza is about $17. Well I don't think I would pay $17 a pizza if I went in to order one. I would maybe bay $12-$15. We were gutsy and had quite a few pizzas between the 6 of us. The bases are light rather than thick which is great, we feel that could be why we fit so much food in. The toppings are lacking a bit but there is flavour. Some of the pizzas you do wonder why they are on the menu as there is one ingredient difference between another and they don't really add much of it to the pizza.<br/><br/>As per what others have said i've marked them down on service. I wouldn't write them off, and if you do get the opportunity to grab a voucher for all you can eat pizza you should grab it and get a group of friends together. I think the place would do way better if they actually got staff in that smiled and were friendly and tried to up sell you on the beverages.

My friends and I visited this establishment last night and I must say, if the authentico italiano experience is what you crave, then look no further!<br/><br/>I had been meaning to try out our local pizzeria for some time and to my sheer amazement, a Coupon for 'All you can eat' pizza was offered for Lil'e Roma that very day. Imagine my luck!<br/><br/>Upon arriving, the concierge told us quite sternly to sit down in the corner and seemed slightly sour about us showing up or indeed even being alive at that time or place in the world. <br/><br/>When the waitress took our GrabOne coupon she joked that it was "five pizzas only"! What characters, I immediately felt at home and could tell already that I have found myself a new place to recommend to my friends, family, and others that I wish death upon.<br/><br/>A delicious looking base with a light dusting of toppings came out and yum! What a flavor! It was like receiving a slap to the face and bowel cancer simultaneously :) More please!<br/><br/>After confirming several times that the waitress was, indeed, not kidding about the "five pizzas only", we asked to check the coupon once more. "No more coupon" the concierge stated, likely having already wiped his backside with it, shredded it,  and cooked it in to the pizza we had just consumed.<br/><br/>My friends and I were full after only five pizzas! Not because we felt it, but because we were told so by the gentleman behind the counter.<br/><br/>Hopefully GrabOne offers 'Free animal excrement' coupons next week, as I know I will be stocking up :)

Sadly we have nothing new to add about this place. We tried them when they first opened some while back, and thought we would give them another try.We got a voucher for two pizzas, so placed our order for take-out, pick up at 5:30pm. Made it clear that this the time we wanted.I arrived at 5:25pm, and they were already boxed! They brought them out from behind, and I specifically asked if they had just been cooked. Oh yes they assured me.Took them home and they were nearly cold - we are only 5 minutes max away.Quite frankly for $20 full price each they were pathetic. At the voucher price they were still not good value. The major chains do better at half the price.Anyway, my wife rang the store to tell them. The response was - first, denial. They were just out of the oven. Second was - oh, it's a cold night, so they would cool down. The base was doughy, and chewy. Not cooked very well at all.The toppings were scarce and thin. The taste was OK-ish.Unbelievable! We remembered then why we had not been back - the last time we tried the place it was not very good either. We won't be going back!

I bought the GrabOne all you can eat voucher and turned up one night with high hopes.<br/><br/>We get there and are told we can have 2 pizzas by the waitress. I pointed out that it's all you can eat but her response was "sorry I'm new here that's what I've been told". She was too scared to go back to the chef about it it seemed. I left it at that and ordered my 2 pizzas and decided to see how I felt after the 2 pizzas. <br/><br/>I wasn't hungry but could do with one more pizza so I got up to ask the chef but he was arguing with another GrabOne customer about their so called "house beer" so I didn't bother and left. The deal came with free drinks which was a choice of house wine, house beer or soft drinks. Turns out, the house beer was one of those 1% alcohol citrus beers. I don't blame the other customer for being unsatisfied. I had a "house beer" as well and it was pretty much a lemonade.<br/><br/>The food itself was nothing special. Very stingy with the toppings. I'd rather have dominos pizza to be honest.

The Chef/Waiter were very unsociable and the chef was quite rude. I got a deal off livingsocial for 2 pizzas at $16.<br/><br/>This is what they have written on their home page:<br/>"The LIL'E ROMA Wood Fired Pizza Restaurant Is Home To Sumptuous And Affordable LIL'E ROMA Inspired Dishes, Mouthwatering Pizzas, Warm Hospitality And A Spirited Atmosphere."<br/><br/>The hospitality was not warm at all and the atmosphere was pretty crap. They didn't have any sort of "spirited" atmosphere, no music, very quite, was small and crammed. They didn't smile or try to even seem warm towards their customers. <br/><br/>As for the pizza, it really wasn't that great I wouldn't brag about it, or recommend it. Was very plain tasting. I also thought the standard prices were expensive for the pizzas that you could get. The standard pricing is $15, but I would prefer a dominos pizza for $6.<br/><br/>The chef got annoyed easily as well when I had trouble finding my serial number for the livingsocial deal that i got, even though I told him if I couldn't find it I could pay the standard pricing so he had no need to get annoyed with me at all, and I wasn't holding anybody or him up.<br/><br/>Wouldn't recommend this place at all, maybe for takeaway but even then the pizzas weren't that great.

After seeing the bad reviews I was unsure if I would go here. But I was pleasantly surprised with the service and food. The waiter was great and the food arrived quickly and was fresh and light. The pizza bases were amazingly thin and crispy and the food was great value.

Came here last minute. Good food and not expensive! They were not very busy so service was prompt. perfect for a group of friend. Enjoyed the byo to help the budget. <br/><br/>

My wife and I visited this venue and had a wonderful experience. We enjoyed a lovely Pizza, a Pasta and salad and a good bottle of wine. The ambiance was great and food was excellent. You don't have to be an Italian to cook Italian Food!!!!.<br/>Well done - a great venue and good food.

It had all the ambience of a drycleaner. As I entered, the TV told me track04.CDA was playing. My favorite.<br/><br/>I had a voucher for all I could eat in my pocket, but briefly thought about paying again to eat elsewhere anyway. Onwards I plunged into the empty store. <br/><br/>Customers, it seemed, were an inconvenience to our waitress, who eventually herded is into a seat and explained the menu. The voucher confined us to the cheap end of the menu; the wine options were the bottles without labels.<br/><br/>The vegetarian pizza I ordered came with 'olives'. I counted both of them; story checked out. Otherwise it just equal parts was diced onion and tinned pineapple obscured by cheese. We couldn't order more until everyone had finished everything on the table. Burnt crusts included. <br/><br/>Pepperoni came next and was actually quite tasty. But the crust-to-topping gap widened faster than my appetite shrunk. Determined to dodge the surcharge on any unfinished remains we forced it all down. <br/><br/>An elderly group of locals entered as we escaped. "Doesn't it smell lovely? This is why we always come here." I'm afraid dear I cannot agree.<br/><br/>Despite the heavy discount, my rationaut rating: 1.5/5 - best avoided.

Don't even consider coming here. Would never recommend it. We bought a grabone voucher promised with $40 worth of authentic Italian food. We got a pizza, pasta & paid more to get some prawn skewers. We were taken aback when we arrived seeing staff and chefs of middle eastern/Indian(?) decent? (Not that race matter but we expected to be served by Italians for authentic Italian food, BTW which we didn't get). Like one of the previous reviews. The moment we presented our voucher the guy looked pissed. Face changed and voice changed. I mean don't do grab one vouchers if you're not willing to honor them. We got home eagered to dig in, only to be disappointed. Pizza was oily and lacked flavour, there were toppings but the pizza lacked depth in flavour. Pasta was also smothered in oil, and heavy on the pallette. Skewers were just amatuer, lacked effort. Tasted and looked like frozen prawns were skewered & lightly dusted with some salt & pepper. There is nothing I can honestly say went well with the food or brief service. Don't come here. No matter how good the vouchers look.

Is there -5 rating button on here.<br/>Me and the Mrs went for a leisurely Sunday dinner here at this all you can eat pizza place with a Grabone. The moment I told the front of house worker I had a Grabone, he had a frown like someone was holding him to the gunpoint to open his pockets. Anyways after being scooted to a dingy side table, the lovely asian waitress (Only nice person at that joint) came to serve and asked us for drinks and pizza's. We got 2 house whites which were half the size of standard pour and pizzas (you call them pizzas, a 2 year old can do better). Their so called Pizzas's, yes pizzas, were uncooked flat packs of dough with half of it smeared with sauce and hardly any toppings. We tried the Hawaiian, the Margarita, Salami and Smoked chicken. The meat was cubed processed meat that was sparse. Some slices did not even have meat on them. There was capsicum on the smoked chicken and salami pizzas. It was cut so small and was so sparse if I sneezed I think it would have blown off the pizza. And on each pie your were lucky to get maybe a half of hand full of cheese.  You are better off going to dominos or pizza hut and gettle a bottle from countdown and enjoy at home. I asked about the poor pizza and  he was not interested and said talk to Grabone. Pretty crap food and please do yourselves a favour dont go here.

Wish there were a rating 0 option on Zomato. Woodfire pizzas had already reminded me of the tasty crispy mouth-watering pizzas enjoyed with great friends. This place betrayed such my expectation. Customer service was absolutely appalling: we did not feel comfortable to be stared without a simple hello by the chef, who did not let us dine there, even though there were plenty of tables available. The very person had not picked up the phone when I tried to make a booking prior to our arrival. The attitude was rather full of disinterest.  The place needs a lot to learn about HOSPITALITY. And the pizzas we ordered came with tiny toppings ( Look at the photos) and tasted like thick paper . My wife nicely commented that Pizza hut or Domino's make much better pizzas at significantly lower prices.  I tend to agree with her.

Came on 16/01/15 with a group of 6 for one of the all you can eat vouchers.<br/><br/>The pizza was well cooked and on a good base, but really lacked much interesting flavour. Between us we tried all 8 of the options included in the "standard" range. Smoked chicken, bambino (banana/pineapple) and margherita were the only standouts, the rest all kind of blended together. There was a distinct lack of seasonings, spices or sauces, and the below-average quantity of toppings on each pizza didn't help. The photos in Jessica Gao's review 2 months ago are the closest representation of what we got, although ours had slightly more empty space around the outside.<br/><br/>The service at the place was fine; the waitress was helpful and patient, and did check on us a few times. No complaints there. Inside the restaurant did get HOT though. Very little air flow and vinyl seats along the wall meant I was sweating to the point that it distracted me from the meal a few times. If you come here on a hot day, maybe try sit near the door.<br/><br/>At the price we paid ($44 for 6, including 1 beer, soft drink or house wine each), you can't really go too wrong. The experience was below average, but at under $8 a head it's not a big loss.

I absolutely love this place! The previous reviewers clearly do not understand the difference between lovely authentic Italian pizzas - with their thin, crispy bases and light toppings - and American style pizzas - laden with salty meats and drowning in oily cheese. Nor must they understand the difference between lovely authentic Italian customer service that gets straight to the point and American style customer service that is as equally as cheesy as their pizzas, hanging around your table like a hungry dog, begging for tips. Visiting this pizza café takes me straight back to my time in Italy, apart from the pizzas are even better! And I don't want to be treated like a tourist when I go out for a meal, being sleazed on and badgered to the n'th degree until I give in and order sides and drinks that I don't want just to get some peace while I eat! Take a trip to Italy, then come back and re-review this lovely little place where you can get a delicious pizza that doesn't leave you feeling sick to the stomach and eat it in peace!!

Definitely NOT recommending  going to this place, especially if you have a grabone or similar voucher. The service is terrible. The pizzas were clearly lacking the ingredients.<br/> I was told to wait for 40 mins when I was ordering over the phone, just because I am using a voucher. The staff member's short temper and lack of willingness to server you, and that conversation was only over the phone.<br/><br/>I am not sure what kind of service or food quality you would get if you are eating in, but the phone experience was so bad that I am compelling to write this review online. <br/><br/>My advise to everyone, don't go!!!! Just let them shut down forever!

VERY DISAPPOINTING!! I can not believe how bad this pizza place is. We live locally and bought 3 large standard pizza's. What we received was an insult to the art of wood fired pizza. This kind of pizzeria has to compete with the big brand pizza chains on price and the only way they can win is on quality and they are certainly losing. I feel sorry for the owners if they feel proud of what they are producing especially when they have a direct competitor about 200m down the road that sells takeaway pizzas for similar prices that beats them hands down. This should be a local gem for customers that want to support local restaurant/takeaway places but instead its an embarrassment to Onehunga.
Sophia Little
Just a heads up guys to the restaurant owner/workers, you need to change your details to 'no home deliverys'. I was pretty gutted to find out you don't do deliverys.

DO NOT VISIT THIS PLACE. Water bottle's rubber seal coated in mould. And food was using disgusting off-cuts of shocking meat . We came with a voucher a couple days ago and after leaving it half of us all felt very sick . One vomitting. The ingredients are absolutely foul this restaurant uses canned chicken and what seems to be cheap cheddar cheese on the pizza. None of it tastes good at all. Even for $24 or however much you might pay by a Grabone voucher its not worth it. You WILL feel sick after it.<br/><br/>What's terrible is the owner or manager of this place. When he was spoken to by us about the taste of the food, and we constructively tried to explain it needed more sauce and cheese (the pizza tastes worse than the thing a kid would eat from  tuck shop or a $2 frozen pizza from the supermarket)  the owner rudely shouted at us and yelled. <br/><br/>it was overall intimidating to be here. The staff were unhelpful. Also the restaurant is poorly designed with a lot of heat from the son.<br/><br/>I would never go here again. I suggest you don't either. And no it isn't worth it even if you think you'll be having a good time because its so cheap. <br/><br/>On the other hand I would note there was only friendly waiter. A nice young guy. However everyone else was horrible and should get out of the business.

Used my grabone vouchers . Walked in to get a strange rude stare from the manager upon which he walked inside to grab my order that i placed on the phone. I wasnt greeted or anything. And the main part was the food was horrible. There was absolutely one pinch of cheese on my pizza with all the stuff thrown in the middle The pizza sauce was so less that it almost dried into flakes after they cooked the pizza. I bought the fettuccine smoked chicken and all i could taste was the disgusting oil no cream in it whatsoever. Not going in again. Worst woodfired pizza
Rod
1.  Worst service I have ever had, very rude and not paying attention to request.  Ask for water and we are 6 people and only gave 4 glasses. I asked for additional 2 glasses but was never given.  Made us wait for more than 20 minutes to put our orders even though that we were the only customers at that time.  2. We used voucher it is highly noticeable that the portions are much smaller compared to those who are not using vouchers.  This is not acceptable and should be mentioned in the voucher if they are decent people.3. Very dirty practice of serving 3 orders of ice cream just using his hands with the glasses touching his dirty shirt instead of putting them on a tray if they have the proper training and obviously shows no training.4.  The food itself is below average and would rather have Dominos or Pizza hut compared to what they have served us.  I really hope that people will read the reviews carefully so they will not waste their money because we definitely felt that it was a waste of our precious time and money.  Now we learned our lesson and hoping I will spare you experiencing a very very bad experience. We will never go back to this restaurant ever!!!!!

I went in with the 'All you can eat' for $34 voucher, looking forward to a feast. I wasn't sure how that we would be able to make the most out of the 'all we can eat bit' in an hour and a half, but we went in and just ordered and ordered. had 10 pizzas all together in that time. I dont think he was ready for 4 hungry teenagers. $200 worth of pizza for $34. It was fully worth it. Pizza was really good, even with the small amounts of toppings. Didn't have a bad experience like a lot of the other reviews mention. We started to feel bad for the guy around pizza #10.
Fleur Peps
Very sad to see in the other reviews that someone that works here is so horrible to customers. Thankfully we didn't have that experience. Came here as a group of 4 with an "all you can eat" pizza voucher which was only $34.00. To be honest, they can't possibly be making any money from this, as the voucher included 4 alcoholic drinks. That's at least $34.00 right there. The pizza was actually pretty good. We did have to flag down the waiter whenever we wanted to order though which was a pain. We ate 6 pizzas (slightly disgusted with ourselves but it was funny at the time). The reason I give only 3 stars is due to the lack of table service and the fact that when I ordered the house win I got FAR LESS than a standard pour. Seriously only about an inch and a bit of wine in the glass. Most certainly not a standard drink. That was pretty dissapointing but I let it go. Good thing I did, because if I hadn't I probably would have gotten yelled at and called a cheapskate!

Absolutely terrible!!! This place doesn't even deserve a star!<br/><br/>Me and my partner had a deal voucher to dine in for this place and the serving portions are an absolute joke!<br/><br/>We ordered a side of fries for $4.00 and there were less than a handful served on a tea plate.<br/><br/>Then our pizza's arrive to the table where the toppings are all in the center (including the pizza base sauce) and we're left with this massive dry edge. <br/><br/>What makes me laugh even more is that they have "cooking classes" available on their website, Ha! are you kidding me? If anyone needs cooking classes it's them!<br/><br/>Lil'e Roma = over priced, stingy portions, rude/unhelpful staff.<br/><br/>Will never be back!
Mandi Van Eeden
I have never actually had a sit down dinner in this restaurant but I have had take away pizza and pasta several times.<br/>The pizza in my opinion is the best wood-fire pizza in Auckland. Well worth a trip and this establishment has grab one voucher available regularly which makes it even more worth while.
Caitlin Crymble
Ordered pizza over the phone using a deal voucher. Was told that there was a 25 minute wait and specifically mentioned that we were using the voucher. Turned up about 30 minutes later to find that they had not taken our order, they denied speaking to us on the phone and there would be a 1 hour wait when using a voucher.<br/><br/>The chef and manager were both extremely rude and unwilling to help at all. Ignored us while they continued to work and asked us to move out of the way for customers - which we were trying to be! This has been the poorest customer service I have ever experienced and I recommend that everyone stay well clear of this 'restaurant'.
Tom
My family and I purchased a voucher for Lil'e Roma. We thought it would be a nice dinner to have as a family. We were cordially seated and our friendly waitress asked us what we would like to eat. When we received our pizzas we noticed there was a small portion of cheese. Therefore I requested if more cheese could be added. The manager/chef, stated that we would be charged a nominal fee, which we were willing to pay. I told them that the most vital part of pizza is cheese, in order to provide them with constructive criticism. The manager/chef suddenly started shouting at us saying that if we are not happy we should leave. He proceeded to verbally abuse us and call us names like "cheapskates," "piss off," and various swear words (which I prefer not to reiterate.) He threatened to call the police even though he was the one who was verbally abusing us. He said we should have a reservation, even though we called the restaurant the day before and asked if we needed a reservation; we were told we do not and besides the restaurant was empty when we came (for obvious reasons.) He loudly ordered his staff to bring him pizza boxes, in a demeaning and condescending manner. He stampeded to our table with the pizza boxes and chucked our pizzas inside them. We were then unlawfully expelled from our table. Previously we asked if he was the owner and he said he isn't; therefore he cannot kick us out. When we left the restaurant, a couple heard the commotion and asked us what happened. They disappointedly decided not to eat there. The pizza had very little ingredients and was extremely disappointing. Never in my life have I been disrespected in such a filthy, uncouth and shocking way. He should learn that in business the "customer is always right." This man is an angry and disgruntled and should not be managing a restaurant. I also notice from the reviews, that this manager hates people who come in with vouchers. If this company operates like this and retains this manager it will end up closed and out of business. I will never step foot in that horrible restaurant. I would only recommend this restaurant if you wish to be served stingy food, be verbally abused and be thrown out.

At dinner tonight, I commented how pleasant the dinner was to my family and thought it would be nice to come back again. But that changed when at billing time, the manager/ owner charged us extra for a dish that was on special.<br/>What happened was that we had a deal voucher and there was no specific clause that said we cannot use this voucher with any promotions nor was it stated on the menu board. We even asked the waitress and it was confirmed twice that we could order the special without paying any extra. But the manager/owner insisted that we cannot use the promotion with our deal coupon, and said that we should know about the exclusion.<br/>To make the long story short, he verbally abused us saying words like "cheapskates", " pissed off", go ahead and complain" and we were taken aback at his rudeness.<br/>How can he be in business when his attitude was so wrong!<br/>I regretted bringing my family to this not "pleasant" restaurant nor ever come back or recommend this awful place. My rating is a zero for the way he treated paying customers whether they are paying through a deal voucher or not!

I had exactly the same experience as Pauline B. I rang to order the pizza. The phone conversation was very brief. I turned up after 15 minutes as requested and the pizza was ready on the bench behind him. He handed it over and off I went. Pizza was very nice. I love that they use courgettes on the pizza. Nice thin crispy base. The ingredients werent overly generous but I'd say that paying around 18 dollars for it would be about standard these days. Paying with a half price voucher, I was very happy with it!

Rang to order 2 Hawaiian pizzas, mentioning it was a coupon deal. Was told they would be ready in twenty minutes so I turned up on time. Handed over the coupon and said that I had already placed my order. The guy turned around to the pizza oven where my boxes of pizza were ready waiting. He handed them over with a nod and I left. Not a word came out of his mouth, he was obviously not the social type ! Pizza was hot with a lovely thin and crisp base and the ingredients were fresh and tasty but not overly generous. Not really good value for money.

Reading the reviews I have to ask are they genuine? most bad reviews are only one review and that always makes me suspicious, I have been going here since they started and have never had a problem with the food from either takeaway or dine in, i have experienced long waiting periods when they are busy but the food is always worth the wait and have always had polite and helpful service.
Sinal Kumar
I have got no words to describe the pizza, truly its was just a waste of money and time.it was a taste less and Especially the staff of the royal oaks are so rude and unorganized, i heard the pizza today for first time and this will be my last time as wel and i also recommend all my friends to think twice before going there,

Will never ever go to this place again! <br/><br/>Called them to order a takeaway pizza at 6:30pm. I was told that I would have to wait for 45 minutes. While I was thinking, the guy said I would actually have to wait for 1 hour and he asked if I still wanted it. I said yes and ordered a Dia Volo Pizza. I mentioned I had a voucher and the guy said it was no problem. <br/><br/>Went to the place at 7:45pm to pick up the pizza only to be told by a front guy (looked like a manager) that they didn't have my order. I explained the whole phone conversation and that my order was accepted, but the guy said it was impossible, they were so busy and they stopped taking orders. I still insisted that I had called at 6:30pm and my order was accepted by them. This guy said "no no no we are busy sorry". I was speechless. <br/><br/>He really didn't care about me whose order was accepted one hour ago. I had to say "it is terrible". They guy said "no, it's not terrible. we are busy".<br/><br/>I left the place and went to Subway instead.<br/><br/>I still had an unused voucher but threw it away because they don't deserve one cent from me :)
Kara Gourlay
This is the worst pizza I have ever had. It was literally covered from end to end with a thick layer of parsley and was so foul I couldn't finish it. We had to throw it away and go to the shop to get something else to eat.<br/><br/>A friend then got us a meal voucher as a thank you for babysitting so we thought we'd give it another go. This time was even worse. We ordered pasta and asked for one vegetarian and one chicken. However when they arrived they were both chicken and sitting in a soup of pure oil - disgusting!!<br/><br/>I have warned every one off this place as it was so horrid. <br/><br/>And another thing - on their website they offer cooking classes! What a joke.
Dan
Tasty pizzas and spaghetti bolognese, good service, Nice decor. A hit with the whole family, can't fault it.
Shan Langford
Amazing, very friendly didn't mind if we drank a drink from another place. Fast and extremely friendly and great recommendation for a snack sized pizza. Pizza itself was tasty and not full of processed stuff like Dominoes. Have recommended to friends and will definitely go again. Delish!!
Lee
Bad food, bad presentation of food, bad service (he was friendly though) hideous quantity on pasta plate I'm not a big eater but the amount was a joke! Took so long to clear the used dishes from our table and when it came to desert time expected to leave deserts on the table and walk away so we can eat the deserts with our still dirty dishes on the table?? The only good thing I can say about this place is the venue itself, very nice decor etc.<br/><br/>I had a deal voucher, so not sure if this is the reason why all the negative pointers, which is silly because this place (I won't even call them a restaurant) will never get my referrals or repeated business! Big loss!
Trish
Unfortunately we got take out from here not once but twice. We gave them a second chance after the first experience which we were made to feel like our order was a bit of a hassle, but we thought, hey perhaps they were just busy and the food was okay. So second time round- they were again SO rude over the phone when placing our order, very abrupt and dismisive, almost like they really didn't need another order. On arriving to pay I discovered they had given us chicken pasta instead of bacon (we do not eat chicken!) they insisted that we ordered incorrectly, in front of a busy restaurant, where, if I was dining would have felt very uncomfortable. They reluctantly agreed to making us a replacement pizza instead. So while I waited outside I overheard their total unprofesionalism continue in telling restaurant diners how I stuffed up my own order. I went in to confront them on their rudeness and to correct the details of their tales but their attitude was so rude and immature that I took my pizza and left so to not further disrupt the diners. There are so many other quality restaurants out there that this one is not even worth considering in my opinion! Rude and sweaty pizza men good luck to you!

took the grandson to onehunga toyworld today, and on the way out noticed this restaurant right opposite. <br/><br/>now the lad is very partial to a pizza when he stays with us, so rather than going to hell, we decided to check this place out for something different. now let me say I'm pleased we did!<br/><br/>phoned for a takeaway and was told ready in 20 minutes. parked right at the door. first thing i notice is the 'A' grading from the council, with the words 'highly commended' attached - always a great start. <br/><br/>the pizzas were just coming out of the oven and right on time - a tropical and a marghretta, along with wedges and a ceasar chicken salad. when we got home the pizzas and wedges were still piping hot. everything was superb.<br/> <br/>if i could award this place a michellin star - it would have it's first! <br/><br/>keep up the good work boyz, it sure as hell runs rings around the competition.....
Wayne
SO glad I had a deal voucher. To start when I made the booking they were rude on the phone. When we got there we were seated and the chef came out to take our order. His uniform was disgusting, no apron and dirty jacket and pants, as I work in the industry I know the standard is an apron. <br/>Ordered the pizza bread and dips, the bread was nice but the dips were one aoli. Ordered the Chicken Caesar salad. It was not a Caesar salad, no egg, it was mesculan with a whole heap of tomato, canned Parmesan and was soaked in balsamic vinegar. Could not tell the difference in the chicken and the bacon. <br/>The head chef proceeded to tell of his poor waitress and tell her to work harder then lecture her in front of everyone, put me off my food. From what I could see she was doing fine.<br/>The restaurant was dirty and dusty and had spider webs, after we left we watched the chef wipe his weeping eye with a tissue as he cooked.<br/>Will not be revisiting.

My husband and I had delicious pizzas with excellent toppings that were cooked to perfection in the woodfire oven. The chef and server were both very friendly and the decor was exceptional and very clean! Prices are great too and NZ wine is available!!
Aaron
The food was Below average. not very authentic and over priced<br/><br/>The staff was very unprofessional. me and my family used a treat-me voucher. The voucher comes with 2 glasses of wine. we requested a wine upgrade and is willing to pay extra for it. The staff rejected it saying it will complicated the system but had performed this service for a "white couple" for free on the other table.<br/><br/>Double standard and unprofessional
Maureen Sheldon
We found the pizza and salad to be very good - the pizza well cooked and with good topping, straightforward green salad.<br/><br/>The chefs were helpful, friendly and flexible.<br/><br/>The waitress had no understanding or knowledge of the wines available and was a bit useless.<br/><br/>House wines were priced reasonably but the labelled wines were very expensive by the glass

Delicious food, Definitely my favorite place to get a good pizza. I give the food five stars and the chef seems to really know what he is doing. <br/><br/>well recommended!
