Super lovely bar! There’s space out back to sit outside during the summer months. The staff are super friendly, I got to taste the cider before I got a pint and they even custom made me a poutine! Would definitely come back.

What a lovely spot to catch up for a quiet drink with a friend. There are a number of areas to choose from in & outside. I avoided the outside because of the smokers. We chose the little room near the back as it was a quiet & peaceful space. Food: The chicken bites were tasty but not a lot on the plate. So tried the fries & they were cooked well, although way too much salt, which we had to brush off.

Excellent place to hang out. Tbh I didn't even know about this place until my manager arranged one of my colleagues' farewell party. This place has a vibe that is not easily put into words but you must visit once to feel it.

I love this bar so don't want to give it a low review, but I am really upset. This place does not protect its female clientele. Last night a man grabbed two of my friends, one of which he had to be physically pulled off of to get him to let go. When I told the bar staff, they just chatted to him politely and he was not removed from the bar. I don't know if the bar staff didn't feel they had the means to kick this person out or they just didn't feel it was necessary, but either way I'm upset at how this was handled. The guy was completely incoherent, there's no way he had the faculties to understand what he did wrong and change in the moment. Again, we love this bar, we love that we can request songs and they'll let us sing and dance, but most times we go in there we have to deal with completely incoherent men trying to hit on the women of our group. With these types being such a fixture at this bar they really need to have some better protocols in place for what to do when someone puts their hands on another customer.

Great place for drinks if you are looking for a good variety of craft beers, they always have something new to try, and for the not so adventurous, there’s always the standard beers available, or just ask one of the friendly staff what they would recommend. Not a place to go to for food due to the limited selection, but definitely try their beers!

Went to Charlie Baxters today to celebrate the return of my daughter from 2 weeks in China - labour day 2017. She was very keen on some western food after loads of Chinese food so we choose Charlie Baxters to enjoy some craft beer, fries and fried chicken. As I came in I asked the chap on duty if they did tasting paddles, and although it wasn’t a thing on the menu, he said he would do one for me. When he came over later, he had labelled all tap beers on a waiters tray and put a sample OF EVERY TAP BEER ON THE TRAY! It was soooo so good it has blown my experience away at any craft brew beer in Auckland. I throughly enjoyed a sample of each beer - a very fine selection of craft beers indeed! The chips and chicken were just perfect too, plenty of dipping sauce and loads of taste with the sprinkles and batter on the chicken. Hands down the best craft beer experience I have had in Auckland and it gets a very rare 5 stars from me for the extra mile gone today. It well exceeded any expectations. The place is just retro-gorgeous too and a lovely place to hang out. I like my little secret bench seat corner! Highly recommended, looking forward to going back again!

They have nice bar food and nibbles here. Not the biggest bar but in s nice area. Food comes out a tad too hot so you know it's fresh which is great :)
