I’d always go here for lunch and dinner. Their food is amazing 😍😍😍 full of flavour, portion is good and also affordable. Service is amazing they have indoor and outdoor dining. Good for uni students too 👌🏼

Great food and excellent service. Have booked for another visit this weekend :) highly recommended

Great spot for sharing a meal and drinks with friends! I love the fried chicken, and the assortment of 'soups'. Good range of Soju and typical Korean beer. Oddly, I really like the pickles that come with the fried chicken! And the waffle fries are a fun novelty. But back to the chicken. These are actually really good. We'll cooked, with a beautiful crispy texture. I wouldn't bother with the original as that sweet and spicy sauce is the clear way to go!

Delicious fried chicken, really enjoyed it. Would be particularly good for groups and sharing.

Been here a few times and finally feel like you really got to know what to order to have a good experience 👌 good food, not as busy / noisy nowadays which is good, but service depends on the people serving you, some are super nice, while some are super rude.

Seems that their kitchen works hard to serve better quality dishes but bit disappointing service from the staff. Never friendly to the customers. Regardless of their poor service, I often go to this place to enjoy food and the atmosphere.

Delicious chicken and they are boneless, so easy to eat and not messy. Delicious calamari as well and I like their curly fries. Place is quite small so can be crowded sometimes.

perfect place to go if your on a budget! i came with 2 other friends and the portion was perfect for us.

Food was absolutely delicious but service was average. No smiles nor verbal confirmation from the waiters. Average vibe. Lots of seats around 5pm but later into the night, definitely very busy.

Great as always, good value, i like other gimbab flavour but all sold out today so only tuna left. The girl staff today was so lively n enthusiastic:)

Obar is one of the best Korean bars in Auckland. Has wonderful ambience, the crowd is classy and the food is definitely good. The only downside is the service can get a bit slow at times. Overall I would definitely recommend this place. Pros - friendly staff, good ambience, a good selection of drinks on offer, decent prices. Cons - menus could have descriptions of the things being served in English. Tip - Try and book a table if you can, especially over the weekends. You won't get a table if you walk in. Always carry your ID as the staff will check it on entrance.

OBar is the best!! Amazing Korean food and awesome atmosphere. Everyone should come here

Many great times here! It's a great bar hidden away. Love it! ♡

Got takeaway from OBAR - the fried chicken/chilli chicken combo with chips - great portion size and enough for a about 3 people. Great KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) flavours and literally finger licking good. Really fast service and food and sauces/condiments was packaged really well. Recommended for dinner and/or post clubbing bites!

I love their fried chicken! especially the chilli fried chicken. the beed brisket soup is really tasty too. Good service and friendly staff :)

Third time is a charm! Why, if you may ask me? Well we had passed this place several time pre-Covid time but all of those instances we were drawn by the happy faces of people dining out in the cold without roof enjoying that boiling rectangular pot full of Korean spiced meat and vegetables. We tried to ask if there are some spare seats, but the waiting time was more than an hour hence, we let it pass. Right after Covid Level 3 in New Zealand where we can start to dine out again, we gave this a shot hoping that there will be less people because of the current situation, indeed it was but still there are many diners still consuming that tempting hot pot, luckily this time there was one table open but needed to be cleared out by 7:30PM as it was reserved, it was tight in terms of time hence the server told us that we can have it given that condition. It was 6:00PM, time for an early dinner and we don’t know if we can finish ordering and eating within the time period.

Great place for a drink and Korean food. Always good to get chicken and stew. Outdoor seating isn’t as cold as you’d expect. Would revisit

I’ve eaten here numerous times, and I always look forward to going again. Consistent with quality and service, I would highly recommend eating here.

Another best korean restaurant in the city

Great place for a group dinner. Stews and fried chicken are flavourful and are in big portions as they’re made to share.

It can get quite busy on Friday and Saturday nights so it’s a good idea to book in advance.
Doris Ma
Great Korean fried chicken with a variety of flavours. We got the Chilli fried chicken, crazy hot and sweet chicken, all grain karaage chicken, and a spicy hotpot. All the chicken dishes come with mayonnaise, salad, and pickled radish. Some come with crosshatch chips. My favourite was the crazy hot and sweet, the sauce was quite Chinese (a bit like the Sichuan spicy chicken dish but more sweet). Disappointed with the spicy hotpot because it was quite expensive but there were not many things in the hotpot..
Kiki
Best service, perfect place for a couple sojus and fried chicken. Absolute fav place 😍 5 stars !!
Tahlia Yoo
Such good Korean chicken, and we were surprised with a whole kimbap as service! I've visited the Snack Bar a few times so knew we wouldn't be disappointed. So glad to have such delicious Korean chicken so close to my work~
Bella Qian
Always great for fried chicken and drinks. You can't go wrong here. It may get a bit loud on Friday and Saturday nights but hey that's a vibe.
Minh Thu
The fried chicken was great, very perfect to share with group of friends. The kimchi stew however had more onion than anything else, and the meat had a little too much fat. Otherwise, a nice dinner

Food at Obar is always a go-to with big groups or just you and a friend! Portions are good and food never disappoints. We got the half fried chicken and chilli fried chicken and the obar pizza!!

Our food took longer than usual on this particular day but overall was still good 😍

It was my first time here after many attempts of trying to get there but failed as change of circumstances or not being bothered to go as it is out of my way. Though, just thinking about carpark turns me off from going.

Last night I fist the air in excitement because I got to finally try the long awaited Korean fried chicken that was absolutely crunchy and packed with fried chickeny umami flavour, side with crisscross fries 🤤

If you look at the cast iron dish. That is Hot and Spicy chicken with cheese, it looks raw but once we got the burner going it all melted into one! Seriously tasted like a pizza and was very spicy.

We washed it all down with soju and beer as it is a "have to".

What makes Obar even more hip, they serve cashew nuts as a snack. I love cashew over peanuts.
Even how busy they were the staff were kind and friendly.

Would I go again? Who wants to come with me next time. I'll love to have more beer soju and fried chicken 😊

Above all the service we received by the manager Kyle was spectacular, he was warm, welcoming and polite throughout the night. He suggested the creamy corn chicken and it was delicious ! We will surely be returning back !!

Best Korean Bar in Auckland CBD.

Perfect food, plenty of seating with amazing atmosphere, this place lacks nothing.
Their food menu ranges from cheap, light dinner to hotpots and fried chickens you can find anything you want here even if your taste is limited.
Their fried chickens are my personal favourite and whatever I ordered there they always excelled to provide the best taste, best quality with fast service.
What this place attracts me the most is their customer service, how fast they are and how polite they are no matter how busy or late I get there. The owner of this bar was the nicest person I have ever met, however this review is not biased to give him advantage, you can take my word for it.
Highly recommended Korean bar on a night out, this place seems to be packed everyday though. Their Korean street food lunch bar opened right outside is also amazing so must try that place out too!

Best korean bar and food in AUCKLAND CBD!

Owner is extremely friendly and looks after all tables efficiently with his staff. I love coming here with friends can sit indoors or outdoors.

Friendly service, ice cold sojus. ♥️🇰🇷KOREAN FOOD CRAVINGS 🐓🥗
Trying out another popular Korean restaurant. We came here for a birthday dinner and some pre-drinks before heading to town 🥳🎂 We ordered the Mixed Fish Cake soup with Crab 🐠🦀 Steamed Pork Bone Stew 🥩🐖2 X Half Fried Chicken & Chilli Fried Chicken, an Oyster & Spring Onion Korean Pancake 🦪 and several bottle of sojus for the 8 of us. Nothing really stood out 😞 There is a hype for the pancakes but honestly it tasted plain, couldn't even taste the oysters, maybe we didn't get a good one 😥 The original and spicy Fried Chickens were good, very crispy and well marinated with the spicy sauce 🔥The Fish Cake soup and Pork Bone Stew were pretty standard. The fish cake soup was mono toned in flavour @seoulnightnz is way better 👌Perhaps we will give @obarsnackbar a go!
_____________________________
📍Obar, Chancery.
_____________________________

Taste: 🌕🌕🌕🌑🌑
Service: 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑
Price: 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌗
Ambience: 🌕🌕🌕🌗🌑

Obar 2.0 is a stunning place to have some comtemporary to some extent but still retaining the traditional korean recipes. I had the kimchi pork belly hotpot and it was awesome. The soup base was amazing. The vegetables, tofu and all other ingredients that went in there were soaked in the spicy kimchi soup base and the taste was magnificent. The korean fried chicken - original and spicy flavours were crispy and well marinated. My next time there, I would try the spicy seafood hotpot. Can't wait!

A really nice restaurant for larger groups so that you can order a lot more of the delicious dishes that they have. We were primarily here for the fried chicken but there were also quite a lot of other things on the menu which looked so good. We had a fairly large group so we booked a table beforehand. We picked four different dishes for the seven of us.
The creamy mushroom rib was the best of the lot. The huge slabs of beef required scissors to cut. The creamy mushroom sauce over the top was delicious with the marinated beef and the crispy waffle fries made everything nicer. The fried chicken was nice. The spicy one wasn't super spicy but still tasty. I prefered the corn butter cheese chicken since it gave the fried chicken a nice flavour. The hot and spicy chicken with cheese was also really nice. It was spicy and there was a ring of molten cheese on the outside. The spicy noodles and chicken with the cheese was delicious. We also had the yoghurt sangria which was nice. The jug of yoghurt soju had pieces of fruit thrown in so it had a different flavour.
This place is a really enjoyable restaurant for Korean food. The dishes are fairly large so you would probably want to come with a group if you were wanting to try a range of different dishes. Otherwise, the creamy mushroom beef or the spicy chicken cheese would be good options to go with.

Chicken too salty

good hot seafood bowl, put to 8 kinds different seafood inside, can 4 people to enjoy it.The fried chicken is crispy, tender and good season too. 4.8 stars total (the lighting is bit dark).

Love their vibes and fried chicken. Always crowded during the weekend! Make sure you call to secure ba table on a Friday/ Saturday night. Soju is good!!! The beef in their beef salad was too rough..

One of the best seafood pot and fried chicken Place in Auckland. Opar really lives up to its fame! Big portion of servings, one Hotpot + one chicken is better for 3 people or more, otherwise you will end up overstuffing yourself as well as walking away with a takeaway box because the food is so good you just don't want to let go...
ㅇㅇ
Tried Hot & Spicy Chicken w/ Cheese, Beef Brisket Dumpling Soup and Corn Butter Cream Chicken and they were all very delicious. The fried chicken in the corn butter cream was very crispy and tender and the sauce was quite rich and yum. The dumpling broth tasted very deep, different to instant dumpling soups. Would definitely visit often to eat some more.

Food 4/5
Service 4/5
Ambience 4/5

Highly recommended their fried chicken! Their dishes are best for sharing between a few people so be mindful with how much food you order.

We ordered the wrong hot pot as the one we ordered wasn't as nice as the other options they have on the menu. This one was mainly filled with processed meat, the table next to us had the seafood hot pot and it looked amazing! Definitely need to go back and try that instead!
Everything was ok at first, until the spoon that this restaurant provided cut my mouth, and it bleed immediately. Then we told the staff, no sorry no apologies... just changed a spoon for me. I couldn’t eat anymore cuz of the bleeding mouth, so we wanted to checkout. The staff was on the phone throughout checkout for us. He said he was asking his boss how to deal with me, and the answer was 2 bottles of beverage for apologies. I didn’t take them. Honestly, this is far more insufficient to show your sincerity to apologise cutting your costumer by a spoon!! Obar didn’t show even a little respect to the costumer!!!! This is the first time and last time I visit!
LuNa The TuNa
Obar is my husband favorite place to hanging with friends, coz this is the only restaurant can drink soju with the most delicious korean food. Staffs are friendly and food are so good, we love the cheesey with spicy pork pot, best place to gp before night club lol
SpoonMe
Always wanted to come here and absolutely loved it! The fried chicken with the sweet and tangy sauce was so so good! Chicken was juicy, crispy and the platter was perfect for sharing with friends.
We also ordered the beef short rib which was full of flavour and enjoyed it with some kimchi wrapped in lettuce. One criticism would be that the beef was quite chewy but I guess that would be the nature of the short rib itself. Regardless probably wouldn’t get that again but I’d still highly recommend this place.
The atmosphere was nice and if you need anything you just ring the bell on the table and you’re sorted:)

First time came here and the hot pot was really good and tasty. I love it

I've been here a few times, I think its a great place to have a social gathering with friends but I'm not sure if it lives up to the hype that it has.

The service wasn't that great - the staff aren't very attentitive and if you ask them for anything they just kind of roll their eyes at you. We had a couple latecomers sit without cutlery for a good 10 minutes after we asked them a couple times. They ended up giving them one bowl (not even one bowl each). - Similar situations happened on two separate occasions.

The food was generally decent - the first fried chicken platter we ordered didn't taste fresh, but the flavours and everything was pretty good. When we re-ordered it later on in the night, it tasted a lot better - much crispier and fresh. I really liked their Kimchi Pancake and if you're a big corn lover like I am, I highly reccomend the fried chicken and corn dish too.

We came on a relatively quiet night, quite a few tables were free (but definitely recommend booking regardless especially on busy friday / saturday nights). We ordered the spicy hot pot and fried chicken to share between two people. Portion size was decent but it was definitely quite pricey still. Honestly, given the other reviews praising the portions and claiming one hotpot being for 3-4, I expected a little more. Regardless, the food was fantastic. The fried chicken was really good, crispy and juicy. Waffle fries were pretty standard. The spicy hotpot soup base wasn't really spicy (maybe the smallest hint?), but I'm sure if you ask they can make it spicier(?). Most of the ingredients in the hotpot were good (fish balls

Nice place for small group dining. I love the seafood hotpot pretty much, healthy and yummy. Fried chicken is nice as well. Highly recommend.

Was absolutely delicious photos dont show how big it is but so great to share with friends

Obar is great for any social gathering with friends. Their dishes are all big portions designed to be shared between 2-3 people which makes dining a fun and inclusive experience. It's usually very loud and busy but that doesn't matter when you're savouring the spot-on flavours of all their dishes. There are plenty of staff floating around to help out. I can't pick a favourite dish - honestly just close your eyes and pick one - it. will. taste. great. 👍

Food - 5/5
Ambience - 4/5
Service - 5/5

Always a buzzing place to be! Lively atmosphere! I love that the lights are at the right dimness ☺️ Best Korean fried chicken in chancery and I love that they serve fries along w it too!
#fatlyfe
Ordered quite a few fried chicken platters 🙄🙄 probably should have branched out a bit but I don’t do hot pot or seafood of any sort so I limited myself to what I could order...... The fried chicken was great except all of them had a very similar taste. We ordered The normal fried chicken and then spring onion fried chicken and then fried chicken in sticky sauce LOL I definitely had an abundance of chicken !! Next time I go I will need to be adventurous.... WISH ME LUCK 😂😂
Serena L
One of the best Korean restaurants in Auckland. Both fired and chili boneless chicken taste good, chips are crispy. Price is reasonable. Not too busy on week days.
Would definitely visit again.
Andy
Great place to stop by for dinner or a late night drink. ID is required upon entrance. The facilities are usually clean and the food doesn't disappoint. The drinks are quite pricey, but it is a very popular venue for such nevertheless.

Food - amazing
Service - great (I have allergies and they made 100% sure that the food I was eating was suitable for me which is awesome)
Highly rate this place!

Food was incredible and amazing! Would definitely comeback here again. Great atmosphere for social occasions. Great vibe and quite central. Service is good, they are very attentive but there has been some minor issues due to language barrier but they are accommodating regardless. Highly recommended!

we went to this restaurant for dinner on 14/7/19. Met with friendly staff. Fried chicken and waffle are oily. I ordered grilled pork, came with shredded onion which takes up half of the plate, sorry but the pork just too fat(i estimate at least 80% fat). So no one ate that. I told the waitress, but nothing had been done. When i went to pay, i had to tell the same story, but the waiter told me he had no authority to write off this dish. Instead he only write off one can of coke and four rice. I can not recommend to anyone wants quality healthy food. We will never go back. Regards

finally tried this place after so many raves about it. Despite being very busy on a Friday night and having to wait 30mins for a table, the service was amazing! So fast and friendly. Food was delicious, great portion, pricing was okay, 2 people shared a spicy hot pot and was quite fulfilling.
Aless
Korean fried chicken has to be one of my favourite foods to eat, especially with a group of friends. Obar has so many different options for, not only chicken, but other sharing dishes like hotpots and pork. We went traditional and ordered the half and half (half fried chicken and half spicy) and it did not disappoint!
S
Went there around 6PM on Friday night, clearly its packed and busy. Loved the atmosphere, and the food. The portion is so big, there were only two of us and barely finished the chicken platter. The flavours are really good, the chicken is moist and can tell its freshly cooked. The only thing i didn’t like about my experience was that we were sitting inside and next to us there was a group smoking, so the smell of cigarette had filled the entire room. I personally don’t enjoy having to smell smoke, and so i had a hard time breathing. I hope they would do something about it, like put a ventilation system or have others smoke outside.
Ati
We went here last night and ordered the half and half chicken. The chicken was very flavourful and moist and the spicy chicken was the perfect level of spicy. The chicken was a little cold when it came out (I’m used to burning myself by trying to eat food too quickly, but didn’t have that problem this time).

Unfortunately I ended up feeling very unwell after eating their chicken (I didn’t drink or eat anything else after Obar) which is why Obar is sitting at a 3 star review instead of a 4 star review.
LilianMonaghan
Half half fried chicken is our routine in Obar.
But this time the most disappointing part was the Kimchi pancake... it’s so oily... one bite was just like eating tons of oil...
Cherry✨
Great spot for Korean fried chicken and soju. Their calamari is also pretty tasty, and the menu is great for sharing(3-4 people). Reasonably priced, and service is always swift and friendly.

Obar always has great service and great food! We often come here to chill on the weekend, they have heaters outside to keep you warm too.

The service is friendly and we always feel welcome when we arrive. Their fried chicken is amazing, and comes in so many varieties with sauces and seasonings. Perfect pairing with beer and soju!

One of the hottest spots on the weekends in Chancery. If you have Korean friends or if you’re korea-weeb then, its highly likely that you have dined in at Obar. We came in on a Saturday around 7pm, not surprised the place was packed and we had to wait around 20 minutes to get a seat. The menu is designed for groups, as such I wouldn’t recommend this as a date spot. For a group catch up though, you cant go wrong with Obar.

We got the chili-fried chicken and Korean pancake for 4 people and we were absolutely stuffed. Focusing on the food the Pancake was crispy on the outside and gooey in the middle, which allowed for a nice texture. The Chili-fried chicken was awesome but got a bit bland after 6-7 pieces. To Obar’s credit though it was a gigantic plate of chicken. Batter ratio wasn’t the best with most pieces having more batter than chicken.

For drinking, your Soju comes chilled and ready for consumption. An awesome drinking spot for groups of friends. The food is on-par with places like pocha and twelve, but maybe because of the density of the space, there is a happy and busy vibe here.

Showstopper: One of the best group spots in Auckland. Massive portion sizes.

Overall Grade: A

Good location and delicious food.
🌹
My favourite Korean restaurant in town so far.

We had spicy hotpot and the Korean pancake. We had no idea how big the portions were and ended up over-ordering. Their hotpot could probably feed 2-4 people.
The pancake was unlike any other I tasted in other restaurants. It is $19 which is a bit more than I normally pay for Korean pancake, but the quality justifies the price.
Clarice Natasha
Another Korean drinking place in Auckland.
Ambiance is okay, there are some cute neon lights for photos. The food itself is pretty good, however for the price it is very average. I ordered the Pork bone stew (barely any meat and a bit spicy) and the beef ribs with cream mushroom (which tasted amazing but a bit too chewy)
Customer service is pretty great, staffs are nice and fast paced. 😌

Catch up with friends on Friday night, very crowd.their seafood hot port portion is Hugh!! I really like squid in hot pot and almond friend chicken!
BBW
The most popular going at night. Many recommend dishes. Buttercorn chicken, beef tarte, beef tarte sushi, all sorts of soup. Not mention the wines.
Mocha
I like the size of the dishes here. The amount of fried chicken and waffle fries in the half and half dish is plenty of food. The taste is great and good value too. Great place to come with friends.
Smoothie Oeek
One of the usual go to place for Friday drinks, it’s either here or pocha. Recommended dishes are fried chicken, raw beef sushi, cheesy spicy fried chicken etc. pricey but good food.
Alice In New Zealand
It was great place for diner:) i had half and half chicken and kimchi and pork belly soup (NO.8). It was big portion.
We need to add rice it was 3 dollers each.

This Korean restaurant in Chancery faces some stiff competition but holds its own. It's Fried Chicken platter is well known and though not as good as what I had in Seoul, it's decent for local tastes. The disappointing bit was the Kumara dish - a bit smaller than what's shown on the menu, but heavily priced! Service can also be hit and miss. The price of Soju is also not the cheapest around!
Lucyeatsakld
Giant portions here, perfect for sharing with a group of friends and service is really efficient and quick. Creamy corn chicken was slightly too creamy and sweet which overpowered everything else. Really loved the kimchi pancakes!
G1k
Personally I consider the quality of Obar’s food is one of the better ones compared to other Korean pubs in CBD. Portion size is reasonable, especially the food that is served on rectangular metal trays like the “Spicy Stir fried Korean sausage with Pork belly (No. 11 - as per photo)” and my favourite “Sizzled Kimchi and Pork Belly Soup (No. 7)” which is of good value with plenty of pork belly and it goes well with soju. The most popular dish is the “Raw Beef Tartare Sushi” which is 55cm long although I feel that there is too much rice compared to the meat but to be fair it is relatively cheap at $24. If you’re in it for the meat I’d rather pay a bit more and just get the “Raw Beef Tartare” itself ($32) which goes well with soju. Order the "Bento rice box" if you’re after a cheap pre-drink meal to line your stomach with eggs and ham.

Staff are helpful even when it gets busy and work efficiently with the use of electronic bells on each table.

They have cute neon signs inside and play a movie through a beam against the wall, but I prefer sitting outside (even though it’s also where people can smoke) as inside is dark and can get quite stuffy and hard to move about especially when its busy and crowded.
Natyo
Amazing food!! The boneless fried chicken is tasty, juicy and flavorful. The mixed seafood pot was absolutely delicious and fresh. All meals were massive in portions -perfect for sharing. Standard korean alcoholic beverages available. The only downside is you literally have to scream at each other to talk- I dont think it's the music but just how the room is - best to sit outside if you want good conversaton with your meal. Definitely coming again with a bigger group of mates!'
Tony Shi
Another fantastic place to get Korean fried chicken in Auckland!
Between two people we got the half fried, half chilli fried chicken and a kimchi stew and we were stuffed!
Fried chicken was juicy and crispy. The chilli fried chicken has just enough heat to it.
Kimchi stew was nice and they even gave us extra soup for it.
The staff even gave us a box of pepero :)
Obar is a place where you can go for great fried chicken and a drink. Recommend bringing a few friends so you can order a few dishes to share.

Food: 4/5
Service: 5/5
Environment: 4/5

The attitude of the male waiter who is tall, a little fat with glass on, is SOOOO BAD!! Asked for 1 more bowl and chopsticks, didn't bring them, asked for water and bottles, didnt bring them, asked for ketchup and 1 more cup, STILL DIDNT BRING THEM!!! And its not that busy! Would u wanna come again?
Rae
A little gem hidden away in the corner of chances square. A surprising amount a seating for the premise - there's indoor and outdoor seating, but the place gets filled up really quick and after having a meal there I can see why!

Huge proportions for the prices so very much so worth your money especially the hotpot/soup. 3 large dishes ordered for 5 people but in reality 2 would have filled us up just as much and it worked out to 25 dollars a person. This place is licensed so plan to have a drink there next time too!
Adrianna
I can understand why other reviewers say they love the fried chicken here! It’s delicious. I recommend the spring onion with chicken and the half spicy chicken sharing dishes. Customer service was okay. The restaurant was a bit dark and music loud (almost like we were in a club) - it also had a projector playing a movie which was pretty cool. Recommended to go here with a large group of friends.
Darren Big Belly
Very good little korean bar and restaurant. I used to go quite often when it was located on high street. Now that they’ve moved, the food is even better.

This place is always packed in the weekend and no bookings for he weekend so make sure you don’t go when you’re starving.

Food: 4/5
Service: 4.5/5
Get drunk off Soju: 9000/5

Spicy Hotpot (부대찌개): an outstanding portion size that could easily be shared between 5 people, offered a wide range of ingredients in the mix including meat, seafood, 2 types of noodles, and vegetables etc. Delicious flavours.
Half Fried & Half Chilli Chicken (반반치킨): absolutely amazing. Chicken was light, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Worked really well with the waffle fries and pickled radish (무) on the side.

Service was very quick considering how busy they were on a bustling Friday night.
Staff were also very attentive as I went on my birthday and was just about to put a cake I had brought in on the floor (ㅠㅠ), however the male server saw and promptly offered to store it in their refrigerator until we decided to eat it.

Quick tip: think carefully about how much you're ordering because the portion sizes are very large (hence the steep prices), and can easily be shared between many people so it is actually quite easy to accidentally over-order.

Obar's Korean Fried Chicken is THE BEST. The Half Fried Chicken and Half Chilli Chicken was so crunchy, crispy and succulent. The chicken came with massive waffle fries, cube-shaped white radish and a side of salad in one tray. We also ordered the Mixed Seafood Pot, which consisted of crabs, udon, black fungus, fish cakes, cabbage, etc. The broth was full of flavour, with a little spice to it. The seafood was nicely cooked. The Creamy Corn Fried Chicken isn't pictured here, but WOW. The sauce wasn't runny nor too thick; just right. I think it had a bit of bacon in there too. Delicious. Obar is definitely a great place for late night banters with friends, and their portion sizes are massive. Well done, team.
Sarah =^. .^=
Best spicy Korean fried chicken! So delicious and the waffles chips are amazing too. The service is very good, very friendly staff. I will always come back to Obar :)
