This place certainly deserves 5 stars. The food here is always a hit and is always full of flavor. The side dishes are usually finished within a minute.
The service here is always extremely friendly and attentive (since they have table buzzers).
I canβt recommend it enough if youβre feeling like Korean.

I like their food it was yummy and generous portion, staff are nice, welcomed and polite. it wasn't that busy around 8:30pm on Saturday so it was relaxing atmosphere. We enjoyed our dinner tonight. Will come back again π

This newly opened Korean restaurant is just amazing. I've negatively experienced lots of Korean places around Auckland CBD, and Hwarang is definitely the best one I know so far.
I strongly recommend the grilled dishes (chicken, pork, beef...). The food portion is really satisfying, 98% of the meat is lean instead of fatness, the traditional Korean spicy BBQ sauce is authentic!
Whatever the soup you order here (my favorite one is pork bone and potato), again the food portion never lets you down.
Other dishes I've tried include beef salad, seafood pancake, and bibimbap. 5 stars for all. The owner is experienced in operating restaurants, they know what they need to do to make customers happy.
The cost can be $30 ~ $50 for 2 people. In my case, I'm already really really full with just one dish ($14 ~ $16). They're doing opening special sets as well, include the main dish, salad, dumplings, soup, and drink! Make sure you check it out.

Tanpopo next door was closed so we decided to try this instead. The fried pork dumplings were really good with delicious juiciness.
I ordered the pork kimchi stew. It came out bubbling and was the temperature of the sun. Once it cooled down it was very spicy and tasty. The pork was very chewy tho. We also had a spicy chicken with sweet onion. The portion was huge but the balance of sweet and spicy was great.
They have $4 happy hour specials on house wine. Staff are friendly and we would return again

Iβve been here a couple of times for an evening dinner and both times were great. Food is very well cooked, well served and well priced. The fried dumplings are a most and the beef bbq with rice is also amazing.

Genuinely and pleasantly surprised at the quantity/quality of the food here. At a much more affordable price you get a lot more and tastes better than other korean restaurants in cbd in my opinion.
