The highlights were definitely the Cloudy Bay Clam pasta, puff bread and the abundance of wine choices!
Also a shout out to the steak and the tomatoes that they used for the salad, so fresh!
The waiter (Kiwi fella) was a little bit rough but still had good service, food took a while but probably because it was peak dinner time and they wanted to serve everything together - which was well worth it in the end!
For dessert the multiple dishes weren't served together (which we personally didn't mind), but the cheesecake which was sitting uncovered on the open kitchen bench since the beginning of the night took a very long time...

Esther was such a fabulous restaurant to stumble upon! A lovely walk along the Auckland marina led us here, and we’re so glad it did.
Even without a reservation, the staff at Esther were more than accommodating and put on a wonderful meal.
Everything was cooked/prepared and flavored to a T, and as a pescatarian, there were plenty of non-meat and non-shellfish options on offer, too. Will definitely recommend Esther to people looking for a great dinner in Auckland.

I was invited to celebrate my birthday at Esther restaurant and my first bad experience at Esther was forgotten at all .
I found a friendly staff very helpful the food is superb , scrumptious , and excellent presentation . The ricotta gnocchis with a luscious creamy lemon was absolutely delectable the chargrilled octopus mouth watering and the fancy cauliflower with pomegranate for those vegetarian lovers will enjoy this colourful dish same like the asparagus with peas was magic . The Pavlova with rhubarb and strawberries was enticing .
In shorts words Esther honours its slogan eclectic indeed is an artistic fusion of flavours textures and colours . well done Esther !!!!!!!

Had my 22nd birthday dinner here and everything was perfect, from the food to the service, to the ambience. Vibes fr, highly recommend. The clam spag was my favourite dish by far. Will definitely be back with the girls for dessert and drinks!

Esther’s $65 Restaurant Month deal is so worth it, come give it a go and you won’t regret it! Special highlights were the puff pastry and sticky date pudding. They are the appetiser and dessert, and they’re sooo well done and leave you wanting more. For $65 you get a lot with 8 plates served over 3 courses!
We were served by Sharleen who was so warm and attentive, I really enjoyed her service and she was so welcoming and sweet to us.

Beautiful place with delicious food and drinks. The service was outstanding and the waitress we had was well versed in the menu and had great knowledge of pairing food and drinks to the customers, unfortunately didn’t get her name. Highly recommend the puff bread and cheese with honey & chilli (can’t remember it’s actual name!). They even did a cute little celebration treat for our anniversary!

Vanya was the stand out waitress and server for the whole dining experience. Her awesome and impeccable service coupled with a genuine interest and enthusiasm in the work she does is something that makes the experience memorable, The rest of the waiters and servers were just average at best and if not for vanya the experience will not have been awesome. She is truly a gem to the place and should be recognised.

Also not sure if it is good value for money if I compare the food to what we paid.

A beautifully designed restaurant with incredibly tasty food. Excellent service and unique presentation of dishes. However, the portions are small, and the prices are high.

Very nice place with attentive knowledgeable staff. Food was really nice but quite small portions even when their menu and staff say they are large. If you have an appetite you will need extras. Duck fat potatoes are very nice. Avoid the rooftop bar though, long waits for nothing.

Went to Esther with a couple of friends for dinner. Staff were very attentive and helpful. Restaurant decor was great.
Food - we ordered 2 pasta dishes and porchetta.
The pasta are good, but the sauces were very salty. The porchetta was great.
Dessert was amazing!

Enjoyed the feasting menu for a Christmas function. Food was good, decor great and the staff super attentive in the restaurant. The baked saganaki was my absolute favorite!
Updated 2023- came here for another end of year Christmas function and everything was exceptional. Consistently good.

First of all, I’m shocked there’s no Yelp page for this restaurant. I guess it doesn’t matter. This place is incredible! We loved it! The food and service are out of this world. Creative and delicious and nice portions! We had a nice selection too, the Puff bread is unique and yummy, we also had the Feta and tomato salad with olives, (Amazing!) the Snapper, the Porcheta along with a side of Duck fat potatoes. All unbelievably delicious. The service was impeccable and everyone we spoke with was friendly and accommodating. I’m crazy about this place!

We celebrated our anniversary at Esther. I would say the food was fantastic !! We ordered the restaurant of the month menu and ordered the extras like the chefs pick and some cocktails.
The wait staff Joel was extremely hardworking and cared to take the time to speak to us.
We will be back to try some new items on the menu !!

Paid a visit to Esther’s during my stay at QT Auckland. The fittings and atmosphere is absolutely amazing and all staff were super attentive and friendly.
Food came out at a reasonable pace and the wine selection was fantastic.
Highly recommend the beef tartare which was served table side, and also the roast pork belly.
For breakfast the muesli was excellent, but a little on the expensive side.
All in all a fantastic experience and would come back.

The food was awesome especially the puff bread and the apple pie ! The staff was very nice and kept asking if our food was alright. Overall it was just a awesome dinning experience. The restaurant also have a very unique architecture design on the ceiling giving a different atmosphere.

Absolutely love this restaurant. We made a last minute decision to have a late dinner after walking past and the hostess was super accommodating, offering us a table despite being busy.
The service was high end but still warm and personal. The food was 5-star but in generous portions with wholesome flavours. Extensive wine list and beautiful cocktails. But my personal favourite was the overall ambience... Perfect lighting, cool decor, good background music and good buzz with an eclectic clientele. Highly recommend.
