Review Wild Estate - Auckland

Briana Marino
Wild Estate is a great visit along the explorer bus stops while visiting Stonyridge next door. Ignacio is simply the best, full of energy and wants to give you the best experience while visiting the winery. Great wine and fun archery activity.
Karne Steel
Great venue for wine/beer, food and even activities, such as archery. The venue is really well put together.

We stopped in for a quick lunch and ordered the salmon and also one of the pizzas - sausage and cilantro. My husband tried one of the drinks - the Pimms, which he loved - local ginger beer was one of the ingredients. The salmon was AMAZING - served cold which was super refreshing on a hot day. It was atop a bed of coarsely blended peas and fresh beets, and had lemon creamed ricotta - topped with micro greens and spiralized beets. SO GOOD. The pizza was also great and was served on a wooden board. Service was okay - our sever was either new or not very well educated on the menu. She was unable to describe dishes in detail but everything was so good and we weren’t in a rush. There were some lawn games and archery - but the archery cost a lot per person so we skipped. Very cute setting with lots of outdoor seating!

We enjoyed the food and wine but didn't try the archery, shooting or the beer. Midweek was a good time to get parking and prompt friendly service.

Really big venue with lots of outdoor and indoor seating options. Service was excellent and there's an overall relaxed feel, not to mention all the different games and activities you can do. Tried their wasabi lager which was surprisingly refreshing (with a good hit of wasabi flavour!). The Chardonnay was a real standout too.

Amazing day for our end of project celebration! We were hosted with awesome indoor activities due to the weather and then followed up with the most delicious lunch! Highly recommended for big groups as they took care of all the details, ferries, transfers etc leaving us to just enjoy the incredible setting!

Beautiful place to hold a work function and thanks to Sheryl, planning of the day was hassle free. Staff were amazing, the food was scrumptious and the chef went out of his way to make sure that those of us with allergies were well looked after. The team building games were so much fun with lots of laughs had. Highly recommend!

Wild on Waiheke is a fantastic venue with great staff. We had our conference there this year and is an amazing spot, the staff are flexible, helpful and professional and really know how to put on a party! Highly recommend this place for any occasion, we can't wait to go back !

We went there for an office party with a group of 50 people. Welcome drinks, team games, two course meals and three drinks per person were included in our package. Very beautiful place to spend the day.

Our work team of 23 visited Auckland for a Team Building Trip and did a day trip to Waiheke Island and Wild Estate and it was fantastic! Sheryl was super helpful and communicative when booking which took a lot of stress off me as she ensured the ferries and transfers were taken care of! We booked in for the Wild Woozy activities but due to the strong wind and rain it was not safe or practical to do the archery or laser clay bird shooting - HOWEVER the team had a great backup plan for us and we were not disappointed at all! Nacho and Lewis were our games masters and they were organised, energetic, hilarious and made the experience 10/10! We are a loud and rowdy group but they worked so well with us and matched our energy! Very thankful for their hard work in keeping us thoroughly entertained with the backup plan - I forgot it was even a backup plan! We played games in their downstairs area which was big, decorated well, clean and very comfy! The whole venue is stunning and impressive, I would definitely come back if I'm lucky enough one day! Highly recommend Wild Estate to anyone visiting Waiheke Island :) Also - Shoutout to our transfer driver Anthony! On time, So friendly and knowledgeable about the island! Great first impression of the venue as soon as we got off the ferry to meet him!

So many vegan options that were delicious! I would definitely recommend wild on Waiheke for lunch. The vegan pizza was amazing and so were the cauliflower bites. Lots of outdoor seating too which was lovely in the summer.

Delightful casual lunch of Margarita and The Rocks Special Piza with the House Rosé and a Love in the Vines cocktail, international staff an added delight. Excellent price for a memorable lunch experience

We recently spend of 2023 Christmas party here, the food and drinks was top notch! Staff were amazing and even the rain didn't damper the fun! Many thanks again!

Took my dad here who was visiting from Fiji along with my two sons to experience something different for him. He wasn’t disappointment. We went with Huntsman and Cheese Board platters. Lamb was so good, just melted in your mouth. Everything was just perfect with different flavours bursting in your mouth. My two boys loved it. Dad ended up polishing most of the Cheese board. <br/>It’s a Great environment, relaxing and well designed. Waitress was very helpful and made suggestions what to get. Activities for everyone and family friendly. I would bring my family here again. Thanks for making it special for us.

Great place to enjoy a bit of sun with a bit of wine and a bit of fun.<br/><br/>There are a good range of games and activities such as archery available on site. With enthusiastic but professional staff guiding you to each game. <br/><br/>They have a small range of house wine, my favorite was the merlot. <br/><br/>Went for our Christmas function. The buffet was very lovely. Nice veggies. The ham and chicken were welly flavored. The braised beef was a little dry. The orzo pasta was quite tasty as well.

You get do all kinds of outdoor activities. Great place to kick start your weekend getaway.

Loved everything about this pl - the service from the staff, , the venue, the food & the wine 👌🏽<br/>Highly recommend visiting when on Waiheke <br/>Had the duck pizza, onion rings, bread & dips , wine tasting tray, hot chips.

We had ordered the Huntsman platter and a beer tasting for lunch on our last visit. The platter was huuuge, even as a main for two people we struggled to finish it. The meat was tasty and the fries were crunchy. The beers weren’t too bad either. It was a rainy day so our on site activities were cancelled, we just spent more time grazing. The interior was simple and clean. Service was alright.
Wanderlazed
They have friendly and accomodating staff which was a plus. The activities were fun but the food was average. Also, when I was there they ran out of coffee 🤷🏻‍♀️ would I recommend the place? Yes, for the experience. Would I go back? Probably not.

I had a really pleasant experience at Wild on Waiheke. The food is delicious, the staff were friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed.<br/><br/>We had originally booked $130 worth of activities including archery and Claybird shooting but because the weather turned crappy we weren’t able to do that. They offered us a full refund or to put the money towards long much. Lucky because we were really hungry.<br/> <br/>I will be returning when I go back to Waiheke.

Nice place to stop by, beautiful vinyard around, calm atmosphere and good costumer service.<br/>We did wine tasting for 18 dollars (3 per one glass) and the wine was very average. We liked just 2 from 6 wines, but all ok for tasting or just to have some drink with your meal. We also ordered lamb burger, which was really massive portion. Tasted good with fries. Unfortunately their pizza oven was broken at that time.
Auckland Foodie
Probably one of the cheaper wineries on Waiheke. Unfortunately the weather was bad when we went and we had to sit inside at plastic tables. Food was yummy though and the wine tasting was affordable and reallly nice. Can imagine it is quite nice on a sunny day outside with games.
Julia Louise
Beautiful location, great food, wine and cider. Casual picnic style feel among the vines but with attentive table service. Live music topped off the whole experience.
Christian-Cicero Guimarães
Average food with poor service. Waited 30 min for drinks and 40 min for food and one food cane had to turn it back as it was very cold. <br/>The activities they have at the vineyard are very enjoyable and fun. <br/>Would only recommend it for the activities.
Stacey-Jae Robinson
Beautifully cooked lunch and the staff were happy to see us, seated us without drama.<br/>Get yourself a pitcher of Ginger Beer! It’s too good!<br/>Would have liked to have more choices of mains, but enjoyed the beef and the presentation deserved a shameless pic at the table. <br/>Visit when it’s warmer in weather, we did and it’s Chur <br/>🤙🏾<br/>The only random part was having the archery and other activities on offer so close to the tables. <br/>Anywho get amongst it don’t be shy<br/>
Cherie
Lovely location but unless I wanted to bring my children here I wouldn't eat here again. Very child friendly with a park, trampoline and other activities and a good children's menu. We found our own mains very ordinary and the higher priced options (two gourmet options on the menu) were very small and underwhelming. They do have adult activities too such as archery and clay shooting. And the beer samples are nice to try. Service was a 5/5. Couldn't fault the lovely and attentive staff. Was just hoping for a lovely meal too.

Came here a week or so back. Yummy platter and good beer, they make the beer out the back in their onsite brewery. Malt beer gets my thumbs up. Claybird shooting and archery were a blast. Our visitors loved it.

The surf and turf pizza was fantastic along with the fries which were perfect and the oysters were super fresh and delicious. The beer was average (we didn't like it) and the range of food left little to choose from. If you're wanting pizza it's great, however we will be looking elsewhere.

I've been here several times, and have always enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. The cost is expensive, but the quality more than makes up for it... usually. Our latest visit was extremely disappointing though, because the manager refused to give us an actual table (we had to sit on deck chairs balancing food between us) saying that they had no tables free, despite numerous tables being free without reserved stickers all around us, and these tables being offered to other people as they arrived. I can only assume it's because they didn't want to waste their tables catering  to only two people when they can seat four, but the manager did not admit this, instead ignoring us and belittling us when we inquired. It's really sad, because the food was excellent as always, and the rest of the staff were perfectly fine.
Samantha Sowter
We came here on a busy Saturday late for our booking so we lost our table which was fair enough. However, Sarah who I assumed was the floor manager, was EXTREMELY rude. She spoke to our group as if we were not welcome and did not try fit us in despite there being an available table. We took this table and were told they were to busy to let us order full meals so we could only order platters or small bite. This was ok with us but our waitress must of caught Sarah's bad attitude because she also spoke to us horribly. Overall the staff lack proper customer service skills and being a regularly busy establishment this should be made a priority.
Shelley
Awesome spot to sit and have a couple of drinks and a burger, the staff were very attentive and the food was great. Pretty disappointed about the cost of the archery and clay shooting, that was one of the main reasons we went there but  we just couldn't justify the price. Also a bit disappointing that we couldn't split the bill, its not that hard.  And for the number of people that go there in groups it must be very frustrating. Overall a good experience with just a few minor let downs.

We could not say enough good things about this place!<br/>First off, scenery is divine. Despite not having booked, we were seated very quickly, and I actually prefer the outdoor seats sitting in the vineyards.<br/><br/>We started with some drinks. The Waiheke cider was crispy and refreshing, with just the right level of sweetness from the apples. The ginger one was obviously home brewed, very rich in ginger and has a strong kick. For ginger lovers!<br/><br/>The ocean platter was totally worth the price. You are served with 4-5 different varieties of seafood and 3 dips, all of which were cooked to perfection. Husband enjoyed the oysters, while I loved the chargrilled flavour of the prawns. Even the bread was super soft and pillowy, and perfectly complimented the mains.<br/><br/>Our hot chips were also pleasant - crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, just how chips should be.<br/><br/>The vegetarian pizza was another standout dish for us. It was my first time having grilled hallumi on a pizza, and I am now a converter. The spinach, mushroom, and onions on the pizza were equally delicious. Their base is thin and soft as opposed to the traditional crispy base, but I didn't mind that so much as the toppings were just amazing. <br/><br/>There are also a lot of activities for families to enjoy in the area - archery, clay bird shooting, and other games. Great to keep the kids occupied while the adults are dining!<br/><br/>All in all, I would have loved to rate this place with 5 stars. However, the bathroom could definitely do with some cleaning. But other than that, this is seriously one of the best cafe on Waiheke, and I would recommend it to everyone.
I'm Hungry
If you like beer and bored of wine tasting in waiheke this is where you need to spend your day (days) when on the island. A very good spread of craft beer (few from the brewery as well) and some amazing finger licking bar snacks. Beer tasting is varied, cheap and fun, and there are heaps of activities to do on this massive property. Always find space, beanbags, tables for yourself. Everything is so affordable it doesn't pinch spending a whole day here (considering a decent mug of craft beer in auckland costs you at least $10-12) You can order a whole jug just for $20. Service is the best I have seen so far, someone will come and check on you every 10 mins in case u need or don't need anything. Highly recommended if you like beer. If u don't have a ride/bike, no worries, bus stop is right outside the brewery.

Great variety of food, best thing to do is to order different plates and share with everybody so yo get a good taste of them all. The establishment is located in a vineyard and you can either dine inside or outside. If you decide to dine outside there are tents and large umbrellas to shade you from the sun. Besides the good food there are heaps of activities you can engage in (electronic clay shooting, archery, play lawn chess and more) so you could spend a good afternoon there with friends and family.
Michelle Hwang
Really like there, do not need to make booking, but easy to have a table. They offers fantastic beer items, made lots of sense with snack dishes. Lovely price and friendly staff.

Lovely location. Not overly refined, which is quite nice for a Waiheke venue. Big outdoor benches and tables - perfect for big family groups. There is a small playground, trampoline, boules and over-sized chess to keep the kids busy. Beer was good (although the beer tasting platter seems to be more expensive than if you just order them separately - I could be wrong though). The wine was so-so, the sauvignon blanc wasn't to my taste but hey, that's wine for you.The food was very tasty. The ceviche was fresh and delicious, the Asian salad needed more zing in it's dressing; actually it needed more dressing full-stop; it was lacking in moisture and punch. The med platter offered good value. Excellent range of kids food. Fresh sandwiches served in a box with cheese and crackers/popcorn was a nice touch. <br/><br/>Service was very friendly.<br/><br/>Overall, a lovely place to spend a few hours......and a few hundred bucks :-D

This place blew me away. The service was absolutely incredible! I take my hat off to the manager.. I have never seen such an efficiently managed team who all looked like they genuinely enjoyed working there. The wine was also great! I'm not much of a connoisseur but I am quite fussy and prefer sweeter wines, so if you are like me try the Pinot Gris. It has a very full flavour and has the perfect amount of sweetness. Loved the activities on offer too and would highly recommend the clay bird shooting. And to top it off the food was outstanding. We had the vegetarian pizza, garlic bread and oysters and loved each dish. Cannot wait to return!

Could be so much better. Staff seem bored and disinterested even the chap who looked in charge (behind the bar at the till).<br/><br/>"Craft brew" beer that they make a big deal about was flat and warm, see photo (beer I ordered was supposed to be based on a Californian style pale ale so flat and warm it shouldn't be).<br/><br/>Ordered the seafood platter, $50. Very average. Ceviche was ok, quantity disappointing, left hungry. <br/><br/>A leisurely lunch also put off by a drunken table of 30 somethings (we would have stayed longer and ordered more but were put off) who obviously don't get out much. Spoilt it for all the surrounding tables, would have been nice if management could have asked them nicely to tone it down, especially the swearing when we had kids with us. One staff member did apologize to us for the noise (we couldn't chat over lunch) which we appreciated however didn't change the fact that our lunch was ruined.<br/><br/>Lots to do in Waiheke, if you have limited time, go to a winery, they do it so much better.

Came here as part of our work Christmas function. We had a group of 12 and everything was organised for us by the wild on waiheke team including the ferry trip. The ferry stopped at rangitoto on the way over there (which we didn't know would happen) and so when we got to the vineyard we were told we were late and had already missed half our activity time. - not a good start when we had paid for it and didn't organise the ferry! Some words were had by my boss to the staff and they extended our activity time and we were able to leave on the ferry 1 hour later. The activities were fun but it took quite a while for any drinks to be served. Then when we went to eat we had a set menu for us all. It took a long time for any food at all to come out and we didn't feel that we had good service from any of the staff. It was a shame as the weather was nice and it's a beautiful place. Just can't help but feel confused at how everything got so mixed up at the beginning followed by the food taking so long when they knew we were coming as it was all pre booked and paid.. Not sure if I would return due to the fuss made about the ferry and poor service 😕

We went to Wild on Waiheke as part of our work Xmas do so they had everything organised for us. We got there late because of the ferry and weather and they wanted to try and Rush us along. Once we finished our activities we probably had about a 40 minute wait til our first bit of food came out, followed by another 15 minute wait for the platter pictured to come out then and another 10 for our pizzas and salads. By this time we were starving hence no pics of the other food 😂. Such a shame we had to wait so long because the food was actually really yummy, such different pizza flavours and the salad was amazing too! Not only that but the outside area is so nice on a sunny day with cool bean bags and a really nice relaxed vibe! Not sure if I will be back to this place just because of the wait.

We came here late one day to showcase Waiheke to our overseas friends. Even though the kitchen was closed we were so well looked after. We had a mixed plate that was beyond our expectations. Truly delicious. They accommodated us so well. The surroundings are beautiful. For me it's the best most well attended casual place on waheke. You would be crazy to miss it.
Elle
Best value venue on Waiheke! The outdoor set up is super relaxing - perfect for unwinding with friends. The portions are generous and the comfort food is cooked to a satisfactory level. An all rounder!
Alysha Bower
Had a wonderful time here today, beautiful food, wonderful service and amazing wine! I highly recommend getting the tasting tray of all their wines and anything off their menu! I had spinach ravioli and it was so lovely!
Juanine
We have been here numerous times and have never been disappointed. The food is delicious and the portion sizes big, The atmosphere is awesome.  The way they do their wine and beer tastings is great and the cost is reasonable.

When on Waiheke we like to try various wineries, our visit to Wow was a fun one. We went in a large group and did the wine and beer tastings, along with lunch. I got a pasta dish and wished in the end that I'd ordered the burger and fries like my mates had. Don't get me wrong though the pasta was pretty good. Looking forward to going back, the place was pumping, people were playing pétanque and doing archery and Wow got us nicely primed for our next winery visit.

When staff of an establishment need to join this site under an anonymous avatar to attack feedback on this site it is a very sad reflection of their attitude towards customer service. Learn to accept critique and learn from it. <br/>When arrogant bafoons like this cry like a baby that they have to pay staff extra to open on a public holiday then just dont open. The customer doesnt want to hear you whinge about having to pay staff time and a half. We walked away, like many, because we refuse to pay surcharges. When you are not even half full on a beautiful sunny day at lunch time then wake up and look at yourselves. <br/>Waiheke was pumping on one of the busiest days of the year... you were not. Take that on board, go back to school and learn some lessons. Have a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious day.   <br/>(((On another note, the beer here is very good, the service often rude, disinterested and painfully slow... which is why we usually avoid this place and just buy the beers to enjoy in a friendlier environment))) <br/>PS. You can thank the fake 'hospo-avenger' for your review. He has several other avatars so a big thanks to your man 'hospo-avenger'. ;)
Mekamak
I go there quiet often with my friends for lunch and the food is good, abundant and good price. The service is terribly bad. The let you waiting for ages, you have to ask for everything, cuttlery, napkins, if they can take your order, if they can bring your drinks out, etc. I keep going because it is convenient to go with children. It is spacious, have a playground, hight chairs and kids meals, not the healthier ones but it is ok ocassionally.
Miss Poppy
We have been to wild quite a few times for drinks and snacks.<br/><br/>Its a lovely spot and plenty of seating with shade (which is a must under Waiheke's hot sun)<br/><br/>We really enjoy the local beer and the staff are only happy to let you try before you buy. The wine is okay, nothing to write home about, although in saying that the rose is very pleasant. <br/>The staff are very helpful, nice and attentive. Although we did have one rather bad experience over Christmas when myself and 2 friends were rudely informed (we had just arrived and were walking towards to kitchen bar area) "there is no seating available unless you are eating" (the whole seating area was empty!) we said we wanted to do a tasting and also order drinks and we were promptly directed to the grotty and cold downstairs area (with no view) <br/><br/>Needless to say we didn't do a tasting or order drinks, but we used the bathroom (which was very clean) and left LOL<br/><br/>Subsequent times have been much better though.
Zelda
Great venue for groups! Had a birthday event out here for the day. Catered for gluten free with pleasure and activities in between meals and drinks are always fun! Good atmosphere even if it's raining.
Shara Lk
Went there on a craft beer tour, very impressed with beers and the relaxing environment. The information on making the different types of beer was very informative. Would return again if we return to waiheke.

Stunning. (Our second time visiting)<br/>Our family of four visited on Labour weekend Saturday with no booking.<br/>All of the tables on the lawn were reserved but there were tables under the shade sail next to the lawn. <br/>Service was very good and some one was nearby every time we wanted something.<br/>We played chess, had a beautiful platter and a few nibbles as well.<br/><br/>We whiled away 3 hour of an afternoon with our kids which was just brilliant.<br/>So nice to see other families and groups of friends enjoying the venue.<br/><br/>I agree with the previous reviewer, having sampled all beers and wines over the 3 hours I will certainly be looking for a local stockist. The Onetangi dark ale and no alcoholic Ginger beer are so good. Ginger beer like dad use to make.<br/><br/>Thanks for a brilliant afternoon!
Phil Parker
We booked a week ahead for a table for four on a grey June Sunday. When we got there - we found that the very few inside tables were taken and we had to sit in an unheated 'marquee' area. The fact that the staff all had fleecy jackets on was an indication of the outside temperature. The staff were very friendly - but the food took over an hour to arrive. We all had burgers and fries - so it wasn't rocket science. People who arrived after us were served before us.<br/>The beer was good - the burgers were generous. I guess it's fine as a summer venue - just avoid in the winter months.
Garath Reid
My wife and I popped in here last weekend for a Beer Tasting and it was a swell little spot, the beer was great and we will be back on the next trip for some more Pale Ale!!
The Guppy
OK... so ---- where to begin. To be fair, I haven't eaten here. But this place serves the most under-rated beer in the universe. And they have life-sized outdoor chess and beautiful bean bags, and play cool music, and lovely staff and they gave us free tasters of all the beers even though we proceeded to have a handle of all of them anyway. Tthe sunny day may have helped the vibe, but it was so beautiful and I really want to visit again. I hope this beer becomes available nationwide.
